I called Precision (who is also now Fox through a buyout?) to service my AC. They sent two technicians, one of who was very nice and the other not so. The nice technician said up front that it was too cold to get a good reading off the AC, and I offered to set another date. The not-so-nice technician insisted it could be done by wrapping garbage bags around it.
They were already out, and the not-nice one was insistent, so I let them look at the AC unit.
The nice technician got to work looking at the units in the attic, and the not-so-nice one started asking questions. During the conversation, I mentioned that I had had trouble over the last couple of years because the refrigerant was low, and they were able to add some, and it worked fine. The not-nice technician immediately started talking about a new unit without any diagnostic effort saying that the cost of a new unit might be cheaper than putting refrigerant in. He said that even if it worked, the hole is likely bigger because they grow over time, so it would likely fail anyway.
It felt like we were in a verbal jousting match and ended up with the not-nice technician going down to look at the outside unit. He looked at it briefly and pointedly noted that it was missing a sticker that goes right here. (It looked like he was pointing at a random blank spot). He said he would have to start putting the refrigerant in and weighing it out because there was no sticker on the unit. I guess there is no way in today's age to get from a model number to information about the specs of a device.
At that point, I was done. I paid their service fee and asked them to leave. The parting words from the not-nice technician were, We wouldn't put in a unit for you anyway.
I still don't know how a garbage bag would help, but there you go.

Spoke to Doug this morning about a plumbing problem and he had someone available within hours of my call. He was great about helping me to translate the issue I was having in my bathroom with appropriate humor, which I appreciated. Dan came out and we think he solved the problem. Salt came to my home today after I requested service for a malfunctioning GFCI plug and an outlet in my garage that felt warm to the touch. I understood they would be inspecting the entire home, but I did not anticipate that my present problems would not be fixed or addressed when they came out. The service is very misleading and I feel that I was taken advantage of. I also thought the service charge would be $79 and I was charged $89. I could have misunderstood. I do think the term service charge would imply that they would provide services to fix my current problem. They took an hour just to write everything up. THEY COULD HAVE REPLACED MY MALFUNCTIONING PLUG IN THAT TIME. It was a glorified sales call under the cloak of providing electrical services.

Bought new ac unit in February of 2020 and have had to replace thermostat they installed and twice my ac has gone out where it doesn't cool down anymore. Today guess what my ac went out again. John Wayne services thinks I'm going to be paying for a lemon they sold me I don't think so. Then they try to go get u on a monthly service plan, this ac is not even 2 years old why would it be breaking down constantly. Overall I dont recommend this company.
