Efficient AC, Electric & Plumbing Electrician
So I recently installed a new water after the 2021 winter storm (it was just old).  One of the original connectors (where the hot water exits) was leaking ever so slightly, which was not a quick attach/flex hose and I needed the pressure valve line to be rerun/soldered (only a couple of feet of copper).  So I called Efficient to have a plumber come out to replace the intake/outgoing lines/connectors as this would require some soldering of the copper pipes and to rerun/solder of the pressure valve line.  I am not a plumber but I know this was a quick and fairly easy job to do considering the water heater was already in place.  Alan and Carlyle came out and quoted me $873 to Replace Water Heater Flex Lines: $399 and Replace T+P piping under 5': $474.  I was shocked at this price and when I asked what was causing the quote to be so high, I was told it was mostly the labor without further explanation.  I paid the $99 service call fee even though that was never mentioned to me when I made the appointment and decided to get other quotes.  The next plumber I called came out and was able to make the repairs for $170 and it took him all of 40 minutes (from when I opened the door to when he left)...Clearly my assumptions were right and Efficient was grossly overcharging.  My guess is this company plays on peoples lack of knowledge, plumbing emergencies, or just lack of time to deal with issues and they overinflate their prices...my guess (I can only guess because they did not give me an itemized/detailed quote)  is they were trying to charge me for the labor for the two plumbers (because they sent two, not because the job required two) for the 2 items listed on the quote and at a rate of one hour for each plumber for each item.  Basically I believe they were trying to charge me two hours of labor (one hour for each plumber) for each of the two different items they listed on the receipt regardless of how long it would take them to actually do the job.  Go elsewhere...

I contacted Danny after reaching out to a few handymen who were pretty rude because I really had no idea what details to provide for hanging clothing racks in our DTLA showroom. Danny was pretty patient, advised what information he would need, and provided an hourly estimate for the job--all in the first phone call. Because of the noise level that comes with drilling concrete, our building only allowed construction during early or late business hours. Danny was accommodating to our early hour requests (7am). He did have to do this job twice as the original racks our company bought were too small and tugged on the wires once installed. Danny not only installed and removed the original racks, he also picked up the correct sized racks and quickly installed them before a huge show we were having. He even swept after the drilling which made for an even easier cleanup once everything was done. At times, it was difficult to get a hold of him to get scheduling going/find out when our racks would be ready (ie playing phone tag, missed calls and texts), but the end product was exactly what we wanted--clean,even, and sturdy lines for our clothing. Thanks for making our showroom look great Danny!

Fixed my kitchen and washing machine plumbing quickly and efficiently. So far so good. Everything is working.

The plumber, Casey, was a class act. Didn't waste time. No idle chatter or jive talk.  Diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Kept me informed at what it was going to cost every step of the way. No surprises.

It wasn't cheap but probably par for the course. Nothing is cheap in Austin these days except breakfast tacos and beautiful sunsets.

They are extremely over priced. I had to pay them $79 for a simple estimate that didn't involve even looking into my ceiling/walls. When I did receive an estimate the price was over $500 for less than an hour of work on a project that would involve minimal materials. I used to practice law in New York City and I would never charge these fees.

Essentially, I paid them $79 for a minute of their time.

Jon Wayne Heating & Air Conditioning Electrician
The technician came earlier than the appt time which was good. My call was for a seasonal tune-up.  I have 2 systems therefore my rate was $59.00 each.

Technician was courteous and wore a mask.

My only real concern was how expensive this company appeared in its pricing. I expected to have freon placed in both the units, but placing freon (of any amount) is not part of the tune up service; therefore it is a separate charge from the tuneup fee. $90 a pound is what is charged. The total amount is confirmed as they actually get on the system and start pumping freon.  My bigger unit needed 4lbs, my smaller unit looked ok so went with only filling the large unit because this is getting expensive.  Allegedly my coils cant be cleaned because the grates are glued shut? Never heard of that and will most likely play with this myself this weekend.  They blew out my lines but could not guarantee that the flush was good because of the way the pipes are run.  Guess they go in a T shape and they recommended to add valves?  again never heard of this being an issue. They also recommended a flood protection system.  By this time, I just wanted my tune-up and freon and for that I was already sitting at 400+ dollars before tax.

This company has been around for a while so I was hoping for a better first impression especially in the pricing.  I own another house and have done this type of service numerous times, its not cheap, but these prices seemed a bit more expensive. I will shop around a bit more next time.
