Best Roof Repair in Washington DC
Received four quotes for three major home projects: A complete master bathroom remodel, a new deck, and replacement of a drop ceiling with sheetrock and repair of a water-damaged wall in a guest bedroom.
The first three quotes were from high end remodelers. A friend recommended Allen Geoffrey's Handyman Services to us (she had just had her bathroom remodeled). Geoff and his crew (Mark and Brian) came out to survey the jobs. They spent more time with me going over what work we wanted and what our major concerns were. They suggested a comprehensive plan of attack from top to bottom. We were consulted at every step of each of the projects to ensure that our expectations and design elements were incorporated.
Their price quote came in thousands (yes, thousands) of dollars less than the three previous quotes. While they don't provide the design assistance of the high end contractors, they met us at a big box contractor store and helped us color-coordinate our design interests. They took care of ordering all the various pieces parts needed and got us a significant discount on materials.
First, they replaced the deck to install flashing (that the previous home owner neglected to do), that led to the water damage in the guest bedroom. The deck was brought up to code and revealed serious problems with the previous deck installation.
After the deck was done, the crew split off into two teams, one working on the master bathroom, the other, working on the guest bedroom.
The crew took care of hauling off all old materials and cleaned up after each day. The work was first-rate.
As with any major home project, unexpected/unforeseen problems arise. While removing the water-damaged sheetrock in the guest bedroom, major water damage was discovered to the exterior wall. Geoff gave me a very reasonable labor estimate to repair the wall. That wall is now the strongest in the house.
They show up when expected, every day, until the job is done. They go beyond what is expected to ensure that the client is happy with the direction the project is headed.
I highly recommend these master plumbers. I guess my highest endorsement is that, when our kitchen cabinets come in, Geoff and his crew will be doing our complete kitchen remodel (again, coming in thousands of dollars less than the high-end contractors). If you need any work done to your home, give them a call. They will not disappoint you.
And, Geoff, Mark, & Brian, our new master bathroom looks and functions beyond our expectations. Thank you!

Called to see if they could scope a line after a shoddy contractor had accidentally put cement into our basement utility sink; unlike every other plumber we called, Gus was willing to come the next day. Although I know very little about plumbing, I thought that Gus was very honest and upfront with us about our situation and he did a thorough job. He sent one of his guys over the next week to install a new utility sink for us, and again, we were really happy with the service and now we can finally do laundry again. I like how, despite us both being women who clearly know nothing about plumbing, they both talked to us like we're intelligent adults and answered all our questions. They will definitely be my go-to plumber.

Ruach Home Services just completed a bathroom-closet remodel project for me. From the very start, Ruach has been wonderful to work with through the various stages of this construction process. Notably, from the speedy and detailed estimating phase through trouble-shooting random challenges uncovered from our previous lazy, amatuer builders. There has been efficient coordination of a variety of team members, all who display a diligent work ethic and specific skill sets, with high-quality craftmanship, attention to detail, clean and organized work spaces, and daily reliability. Mr. Harvey and his team were accommodating in adding on extra tasks that cropped up at an affordable price. They always left the project area clean and organized and were respectful when working in the common areas. Mr. Harvey was always available to answer questions along the way and was super speedy in researching possible solutions to unforeseen challenges that came about. I would highly recommend their services and am already saving up for their next project to improve my home.

Eduardo took great care in replacing our kitchen sink faucet. When a part was missing in the new faucet he took the time to go to Home Depot and get the missing part. He also noticed a valve needed replacing and he took care of that. He will be my go to plumber from now on

I have used Brendan for nearly 15 years for ALL of my HVAC installs, upgrades and service calls and consider myself to be very fortunate to have such a reliable, honest and trustworthy contractor working for me. It's a relief to not have to worry about being charged for unnecessary repairs when I place a service call to Brendan. He has always properly and efficiently diagnosed all HVAC issues that I have presented him with and provided several options/routes to take based on what is the most financially feasible for the situation and NEVER has tried to sell me a part or service that wasn't absolutely necessary. In fact, Brendan has, on many occasions, put in extra time and work in order to save me expenses when he could. Brendan has been a valuable asset and has become a good friend over the years! One encounter with him and you'll become a customer for life, never needing to call anyone else for your HVAC needs, as well as becoming an advocate for his work, not hesitating to recommend him to ANYONE!

He doesn't respect a client's time. I requested a quote for some minor remodeling of my new house (I'm before moving) via Yelp, then he contacted me to schedule to visit the house. He offered free estimate so I accepted it and scheduled an appointment on Saturday 9am. Even I sent a 'gentle reminder' text message Friday evening. I arrived at my new house at 8:50 then prepared for his evaluation & estimate. He didn't arrive at 9, so I called him at 9:01. He just said I'm on the way so I supposed he would arrive in 5-10 min. I sent an text message that I have another schedule at 10am so should leave at 9:40. He replied OK. He didn't come until 9:25 so I called him again, where are you? He said 5 min away. From Germantown to Rockville is 10 miles, 20 min driving. It's Saturday morning. So I said You don't need to come. You wasted my time then left my new house for ride of my kids. Anyway he arrived then sent a message at 9:34 then requested gas fee. What an unprofessional man he is! He supposed to complete free estimate for 5 min? Even if he would offer competitive rate, I wouldn't accept it because I don't trust this kind of unprofessional person. He offered free estimate, then didn't keep the appointment so wasted my time for more than 30 min, then requested gas fee. I'm happy that I don't need to meet this man again.
(updates) Now this guy called me lier. It's outrageous and motivated me to upload captured files of our text message communication. I wrote the distance 20 min, not 10 min. Read correctly. Everyday I commute between Rockville and Germantown in less than 20 min. Also you wrote You need to accommodate my gas money. Isn't it a gas fee request?

We just recently replaced our furnace, Hvac compressor, hot water heater and put on a brand new deck in our back yard. Everything went amazingly smooth. Carlos was the upmost professional and very responsive to our questions and requests. We ended up adding on additional work at the end because he did such a great job with the initial contract. Without hesitation- I would recommend C&S to anyone looking to do any home improvement. He does it all and does it all very well!

Luis and his team were fantastic! We wanted to rip up existing flooring to expose and then clean/polish the concrete underneath. We thought it was risky, and Luis walked us through it and explained how they would handle the job. They did wonderful work and we love our new floors!

Matt has done for as an entrance door replacement ( including frame), and the electrical work and flooring in connection with our kitchen remodeling.
At the entrance door, due to termite attack he had to replace two of the four house framing beams. He recommended for us the best exterminator in the area.
All his work was finished to perfection. We highly recommend him.

Pro's- Outstanding work done on our fireplace remodel. With just a picture and patient communication (on his part) Lee and his team was able to extract exactly what I had in mind and made it happen. Lee also completed a powder room refresh with skill and expertise.
Con's - Prepare yourself - the work will not be done instantaneously. Two reasons: You will be among others that turn to Lee and his team for meticulous work. His team is in demand because of their high standards of getting the project carefully constructed, directed and communicated every step of the way.
Take a look yourself at my beautiful remodel pictures! Like many others, we will continue to call on Lee to update our 23 year old colonial.

Terrible company and any report should not be trusted.
The technician who came out to the property (rowhouse within the city) did not bring a ladder tall enough to get to the roof, knowing leak was coming from roof into the home's ceiling drywall. We had to go door-to-door with technician to gain approval from neighbors for technician to walk across roofs because of ladder inefficiencies.
After inspection, technician can see frame of home exposed and knows water is coming into home because of hole in the old chimney that exposes the frame, but denies that water is leaking on two levels because of it!
Technician gives radically false claim that a small gap on the outside of the shower is causing water to leak onto the level below! Rain comes in through hole in roof, gets to wood frame of house, causes massive damage in bathroom ceiling, but somehow the same rain water gets onto the level below because of a small gap outside the shower that's not exposed to water from rain.
Ridiculous.
