Brian K was extremely pleasant and helpful in detecting the source of our leak. We have had several people out to diagnose the issue and he is the first person who was able to ID the issue.

Brian K. arrived right on time and began a thorough analysis in order to locate and identify a leak that had evaded previous detection by plumbers who had actually cut out some drywall in their unsuccessful search. Brian identified the source of the leak and made suggestions as to how it should be fixed. The problem has now been fully resolved, and we are very pleased with Brian and American Leak Detection.
Great job! Upfront and straightforward. Clear in his description of the problem. Very Professional.

Collin was great work with. We've had a mystery leak for months and he was able to diagnose the issue and provide much needed relief. Highly recommended
We recently had a flooded basement and our insurance company sent American Leak Detection to find the source. While eliminating potential sources that could have caused the leak, they ran some tests. These included the manipulation of our water heater which while being older, we had not had an issue. Not only was it determined that the sources were from elsewhere (roof leak) but they left the heater inoperable, caused it leak and the flame no longer had the ability to be lit without expensive repairs. They said the would cover NOTHING because due to the heaters age, it would be a liability for them to manipulate the broken heater that they broke. If they can't assume the risk of fixing what they break, they have no business touching it in the first place!
Had good service from them. With a pressurized test of ten minutes, they were able to determine the source of a problem. Hold on to your hat for the two hour minimum visit, but it beats the alternative which is never knowing the problem at all. Water is too precious to waste. Were you to have legal action with the utility or your landlord, you'd need these folks and their testing methods. American Leak provided a detail sheet which could be used to document a good faith effort by the homeowner. May you never need this service, but if you do, this is the company to use.

Terrible company and any report should not be trusted.
The technician who came out to the property (rowhouse within the city) did not bring a ladder tall enough to get to the roof, knowing leak was coming from roof into the home's ceiling drywall. We had to go door-to-door with technician to gain approval from neighbors for technician to walk across roofs because of ladder inefficiencies.
After inspection, technician can see frame of home exposed and knows water is coming into home because of hole in the old chimney that exposes the frame, but denies that water is leaking on two levels because of it!
Technician gives radically false claim that a small gap on the outside of the shower is causing water to leak onto the level below! Rain comes in through hole in roof, gets to wood frame of house, causes massive damage in bathroom ceiling, but somehow the same rain water gets onto the level below because of a small gap outside the shower that's not exposed to water from rain.
Ridiculous.
Water was dripping from an upstairs room onto my living room ceiling. An emergency technician from a local plumber did not find the leak 10 days ago when I called to express my concern about the cracks and water damage that I observed. That technician could not find the leak and said that he would have to open the ceiling and 'it could take hours to find the leak,' He advised me to contact my homeowners insurance agency, and I am glad that I did.
Insurance sent a Leak Specialist ,Brian, from American Leak Detection to my home this morning. Brian called me to give me an estimated time of arrival. He did a comprehensive assessment which included going up to the roof.
Brian was able to find the leak coming from the shower and showed me with a flashlight - where the water was coming from and exactly what needed to be done to fix the leak. He spent the time necessary to 'diagnose' the problem and to provide a solution. This type of expertise is what any homeowner would want when dealing with a water issue with potential to do a lot of damage. I also want to give Brian's colleague Colin acknowledgment for his work on this endeavor.

Sent by my insurance company to determine what was the cause of a waterline down my first floor wall, BrianK called in advanced, and arrived promptly
He made me aware of the issues, was courteous, and patiently answered my questions, and offered a layman term version of the likely cause

We figured out that we have a significant leak under pavers that are around our pool. We called and they were able to get us scheduled quickly. Brian came out and in no time pinpointed with 100% certainty the exact spot we need to remove pavers to find the leak. He used some pretty sophisticated technology to also trace the line so we know exactly where it is - very cool!

If I could, I would give them more than 5 stars because the service provided by American Leak Detection was well above my satisfaction. Brian D. was the technician sent to locate my leak. He went above and beyond my expectations. He was professional, quick, and meticulously explained his findings. I am so thankful for his expertise. While searching for the leak I was concerned about, he discovered other sources that could eventually lead to future leaks. He detailed these potential leaks in his report. I feel completely armed with all the information I need to resolve the elusive leak.

Brian K. was very thorough and made sure I knew all the details of the issues, and how to resolve them.
ALD was recommended by the contractor that inspected the damage for my insurance company. My insurance company also suggested ALD and refunded the cost of the report.
I received a very detailed report in a few business days. Brian provided lots of information in the report, as well as photos with identifying marks to supplement the text.
I highly recommend Brian K. with ALD.
