Best company I've ever worked for. The owners are kind and funny. I love working for Jen and Mike except when I'm on call.

Jason's an awesome guy and offers a fair price. Had him come and diagnose a leak in my house. Come to find out it was an HVAC issues. But he explained everything to me clearly so I was able to understand what was going on and also recommended an HVAC guy who came and resolved the issues. Jason was responsive and communicated with my the time he was available. Will definitely be contacting him again it I have any other issues.

Neil performed a toilet installation and installed some spacers between the back of the tank and the wall upon my request. My appointment was on short notice since the old toilet was leaking, so he had to return a few days later for the spacers. Mr. Neil was punctual and communicative about his ETA for both appointments, removed the old toilet (and schlepped the new one up a flight of stairs), and cleaned up the work area. I do plan to hire him again for future projects. His rates were very reasonable and this is a great way to support a local, BIPOC-owned business. I will follow up with photos of future projects as appropriate.

Had a sewage line rupture under my house, rotorooter came out same day, communicated with me frequently and thoroughly. Upon diagnosing the problem, they quoted me a very fair estimate. Throughout the entire process they were flexible and assisted in any way possible with my home warranty company to get the job paid for. Friendly staff, and excellent work completed. Only reason its not 5 stars is the plumber left some rusted cast iron remnants in my yard but thats being nit picky. Great company! Worked well with home warranty company

My first encounter with Justin was during a bathroom remodel in which I already had a hired plumber. He looked over the work that was done, said it was subpar with cut corners, and confronted the plumber for me getting him to re do the work for no charge. He earned my respect and has had PLENTY of my business since then.
Justin has consistently provided top notch work at my home. He responded to an emergency sewage issue that two other companies couldn't fix, installed a tankless water heater, removed the boiler, installed a brand new gas line and made all the new connections look stellar, replaced replaced toilets... and more. There hasn't been a issue he wasn't able to fix and charges far less than major companies. Anyone that can match his pricing isn't going to get the job done correctly.
I can't recommend Justin and Flotech Services enough! He's now taken care of friends and family and everyone thanks me for the recommendation. So glad he FINALLY set up Yelp so I can for all recognize him!

I called A-1 at 9:00am after having a busted pipe in my bathroom, the water had to be shut down in our whole complex (12 different condos) the operator said a plumber would be out in 20 minutes. An hour later I got a call saying the plumber was in the tunnel and will be there shortly, The plumber finally got to my house at 10:55am. After 3 hours of being in the bathroom he leaves, comes back and tells us, I should have done a patch job because it would have been an in & out job less than an hour, but since I didn't I now don't have enough pipe and have to go back to the warehouse. (in Virginia Beach, I live in Newport News). I tried to call the office and was given excuse after excuse. The plumber left and went to the VB warehouse and then came back to my house the plumber was gone for more than hour, yet only ONE HOUR was taken off my bill. Our Home Owner Association told us they were to be billed, yet we receive a call from the office saying our HOA refused to pay. We paid the $675 bill and contacted our HOA the next morning and the HOA explained to the office they needed to review the bill before paying. Dealing with A-1 was a complete nightmare from having a plumber who could have done the job in an hour to making it a 6 hour job to the office being dishonest with us just to get paid right away. We will never deal with A-1 again!

So I'm a bit late to reviewing but about a month ago I was having issues with my HVAC system and it suddenly shut off completely. We called American mechanical in high hopes because of the outstanding reviews and were met with a hefty male who looked like he jogged miles before showing up. The entire introduction was so off putting as he kept talking to my wife and I in a tone that sounded as if he was talking down to us. Told me the system had a leak (which it did). Told me if I didn't get it patched and refilled with freon it would stay off (which was true). Now that was where it should have ended, but it didn't. The man was very adamant on me getting a new HVAC system because mine was nearing its end of life expectancy. When I told him it was too costly at the moment, he kept throwing in my face that they do payment plans. Pretty standard business routine right? After declining he starts throwing other things telling me that my ceilings will cave in and that at the very least I should have boards to walk on in the attic crawl space. At this point my wife is extremely worried while I just want him out of my house for bringing utter nonsense to the table. He takes us outside and does a continuity check for some reason I have no idea on the HVAC saying well at least there's electricity going through it and then continues to tell me as if I don't know what a multimeter is (I'm a technician) that what he just did costs $500! And it would be waved just because he's a nice guy and that I should really get a new system... all in all it was a terrible experience for me. I kicked the guy out got a REAL HVAC tech and got all my problems fixed without extra and stupid added on costs. I have a one star but would have given less if that was an option.

After walking around Home Depot without any help, we tried this location. Service was immediate and the salesperson was extremely knowledgeable. Recommended as a one stop shop.

I found them to be very expensive. I made the mistake of not having a clear understanding up front of what they were to charge. They then attempted to charge interest not supported by any agreement.

I have used AT Large Plumbing twice. One both occasions they were quick, professional, clean and fair. 2nd job had to be quoted (due to cost ) the job was completed in a timely manner and well under their quote. I will not hesitate to call them again.

Water Heater Installation
1. Valve is not even on the drip pan,
2. Didn't use primer when connecting pipe,
3. Pipe too short, so just vent it,
4. Recycle old pipe cpvc (flexible metal pipe would have been more stable and nice,, but hmm)
5. Drain pan doesn't even fit the water heater,
6. Water heater blocking the drain from drain pan,
7. Asked 100 more for 20 drip pan (oh phone, we agreed that drip pan would be included)
8. Called 300 more than what was agreed on the phone (on phone, agreed that pipe work near would be included but he decided to charge more. And he said I don't like hassling with price)

I asked for a diagnostic on a leak I didnt know where it was coming from. I was at work and my wife was home and told them I was to authorize any repairs. Plumber tried calling me. Left a voice mail and never spoke to me. (Have multiple voice mails incase anyone wants proof) At that point he should've paused and not done anything further after the diagnostic. He told my wife that I said to do what's needed (never spoke to him). Pulled the toilet replaced a wax seal (it was leaking where I couldn't see). I never told him to do any actual work. So basically took advantage of my wife being alone without someone else there. So I paid a $75 diag fee which is what I agreed to. Plus 225 for a wax seal replacement. A 10 dollar wax seal for 225 that I would've told them not to do. I've replaced plenty. I would avoid them.

Mine is just an observation, of professionalism and what I perceived as genuine concern and pride in a job well done.
The team work of the persons at the site and the patience of the guy leading to explain their progress and the vision of the task at hand... I found to be impressive.
Should I own a home/ have a home built, or be abreast of someone in the process of needing their services.. I have the number on hand

They do not do work up to code, steal tools and personal property and never finish a job that they are paid for. Jason and Melissa are both con artists. They were paid in full for a job and didn't even complete it. On top of stealing over 1k of items from the home. The owner of the trailer is not happy, never was. Took them to court and they never showed but were quick to file bankruptcy to clear the judgement.
Funny that 2 of the reviews are from Melissa Bond herself.
