Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

After having to reschedule my appointment for sewer cleanout replacement 3 times with Corey due to rain, his crew being behind on there work and a no show, Shawn and Lewis showed up on time Friday morning, discussed the work that was going to be done and how long it would take. They finished early afternoon as they said they would, cleaned the work area and made all the proper connections while explaining the reasons they were bad in the first place. Overall, I am pleased with the quality of work that was done even though it was kind of frustrating getting it all set up. I will use Roto-Rooter again.

Easy to make an appointment. Staff on the phone was polite and pleasant. Showed concern. As soon as a plumber was available, I was contacted about the visit. The plumber promptly came at the designated date and time. Completed his work with efficiency and professionalism. Didn't waste time and was hard at work the whole time. He was very personable and respectful. I appreciate also that he cleaned-up after he was done. I am very happy and satisfied with the work done in my bathroom (replaced the shower). I would highly recommend the company to family and friends and I have utmost confidence about the great work ethic and efficiency of your staff and personnel. Thanks, guys!

We had Roto-Rooter work with our property in Norfolk, involving plumbing work in a bathroom, seriously in need of new piping, connecting up a new toilet and new vanity -  this was major work and they accomplished it in a relatively speedy time frame to our satisfaction.  Working with Brady Howard was refreshing.

We called to ask for an estimate, and the technician arrived within 30 minutes. He was friendly, clean, and completed the job that day. We're very happy with his work!

I had a problem with my shower water not coming on.  The house was recent remodeled and the plumbers cut some corners with some valves. I called Roto-rooter  and the Service was absolutely awesome. Will Smith (cool name) came out and was courteous and fixed the problem quickly.  He grabbed a couple of tools and before I knew it the shower was running at full pressure He even gave me some advice about regulating water temperature for my faucet unit. I'll definitely will requesting him specifically if I ever have any more issues.

While my grandchildren were visiting in April, the drain for my washing machine decided to back up.  I called Roto-Rooter early in the morning and the team was at my house within two hours.  The service technician,  Zach J., was extremely professional and the drain was unclogged in no time.  I would highly recommend Roto-Rooter.

Pricey but worth it!! Tech was professional and courteous. Provided same day service, arrived on time and explained everything before starting the job.

Called Roto Rooter to repipe an office trailer bathroom that has exactly 2 fixtures (toilet & sink) in a totally exposed area - so no having to cut through walls or anything else.  When I asked a cost he couldn't (wouldn't?) commit but when I asked Over $500 he said maybe a little..  So the $1200 bill was a surprise. I called their office and the lady I spoke to verbally agreed to split the difference and we were going to pay $850...but alas, the new person comes along and says that no, it took him 6 hours to do this work, we have to pay $1200.  Now bear in mind, we are talking about a 6' length of cpvc, a 90' turn, 2' of pipe, 2 Ts up to the sink, another 3' a T to the toilet. That's it. And at no time did I get a call saying hey, there's a problem here, it's going to cost more $$$.  Where I come from 225% is more than a little more.  I feel like we are being billed for his learning curve and because I am 400 miles away so I can only do so much.
I've also reached out to the Corporate website...BBB next... DO NOT USE THEM WITHOUT GETTING EVERYTHING IN WRITING AND DOCUMENTING EVERY SINGLE THING.

UPDATE 8/2/2016
MANAGEMENT REACHED OUT AND HAS AGREED TO ACCEPT THE $850. Historically they had done good work for us but this particular time was a mess.  We will continue using them but I will be sure everything is via email to cover us (and them).

After my garbage disposal exploded in a sea of cucumber peels and water, Roto Rooter was there in just over half an hour.  30 minutes later, order was restored in my kitchen, and they honored my Angie's List coupon, too!  Great service!

Had a sewage line rupture under my house, rotorooter came out same day, communicated with me frequently and thoroughly. Upon diagnosing the problem, they quoted me a very fair estimate. Throughout the entire process they were flexible and assisted in any way possible with my home warranty company to get the job paid for. Friendly staff, and excellent work completed. Only reason its not 5 stars is the plumber left some rusted cast iron remnants in my yard but thats being nit picky. Great company! Worked well with home warranty company

Only thing that keeps them from being 5 stars is the cost for the short time involved, but the fact that they didn't charge more for weekends and holidays  is a big plus.  I had a clogged kitchen drain that I had tried to clear with a drain snake along with drain cleaners, both the gel and foaming kind with no success, and although i had gotten it to go from no draining at all to a very, and i do mean very slow drain, i decided it was time to call in the pros.  I called on a Sunday and technician was at the door within 2 hours.  Only took about 15-20 minutes for him to actually clear the drain but he did a good job explaining that food disposals are a big cause of the clogs as they commonly don't break down food enough, as well as there are several different types of foods that shouldn't be put down it, such as starchy foods.  Anyways, included in the price was a 6 month warranty on the service along with about a gallon bottle of enzyme drain cleaner to help prevent further issues, enough to last several years.

Roto-Rooter arrived at my house on time.  Addressed my faucet problem in the  shower, all I had to do was turn down the temperature on my water heater.  Replaced my garbage disposal, toilet.  He did not have the parts on board, but it didn't take too long  to purchase them.

They were the ONLY plumber available for several days to repair a broken kitchen pipe due to a poorly installed kitchen sink falling on it. They were able to come out within hours.

The young man was polite and respectful. They charge based on the job not by the hour. It was $274 to glue the pipe back together or over $600 to replace the pvc pipe. Guaranteed for a few weeks.

He glued the pipe and was gone in a grand total of 20 minutes time. $274 for twenty minutes = $822 an hour.

A big thank you for coming out on short notice, but the fact that they were the only available plumbing service for several days says a lot. All plumbers are outrageously high at $180 hr., plus a trip charge, but for the amount I paid, a regular plumber could've replaced the pipe, not just glue it. I'm sure I'll have to replace it before long - just didn't have an extra $600 to spend on replacing on short pvc drain pipe.

I have used this company twice, not cheap but not overkill. Solid work, fixed my problem each time fast. Today I had the tech Gavin come out, the guy was solid. This will be will probably be the only company I use again going for.

They were great. Very professional and very nice. Took the time to explain what they were doing, how they were doing it, and what to expect every step of the way. Their 30 days guarantee is legit, they came back next day to fix another clog.

I was dealing with backup from all water sources into our downstairs bathroom for 3 days trying to get our landlord to call someone. after many calls, Michael and Darren from Roto-Rooter Norfolk came out at 9pm and fixed the problem within an hour or two. they were very professional, personable, and i enjoyed the laughs we had at the situation. I cannot say enough good things! thank you thank you thank you!!

I called numerous companies Saturday evening when my water went out. Most said they would have a technician call me or I had to leave a voicemail. Roto Rooter answered when I called and confirmed in the same call that someone would be at my house within two hours. A half hour later I got a call that they would be there in 30 minutes. The technician was very friendly and was able to get my water restored the same evening and despite my protests that he didn't need to clean up the water heater area, he insisted and even brought in a shop vac. I'm very satisfied with the service I was provided.

I made a call to Roto-Rooter about my water heater going out, and I was in desperate need.  They were able to come check it out the same day, after I scheduled it online. Alonzo came out and was quick to say what needed to be done, which was just a replacement of parts (where another company said it needed to be replaced entirely). After being given a quote, I approved the work and he got the parts he needed, and was back in less than an hour. It was so so easy to work with them and I'm so happy I chose them!

I wanted to leave a review on my experience with Roto-Rooter. I called & made an appointment Sunday for Monday between 3:00-5:00pm. At 9:00pm & they had yet to show up, so I called & canceled the appointment. Very unprofessional. Very disappointed. Will not be calling them again.

I have a real dilemma. My downstairs bathrm, which is a very small add on Was leaking due to the wax ring being worn. Micheal and Sons put on a wax ring. However, the tile has water under it, the grout is chipping. Needless to say our subfloor is taking a hit. We are in a fix having already spent over $3,000.00.(a long story) we can't afford another penny. I notified Roto Rooter by email the night before they called me the following morning said they had a tech available. wasn't able to schedule then he said call back when I would be home. called back. they came maybe an hour later. Proceeded to snake out a previous plumber job. Thought the problem solved but when I started a load of laundry i had sewage back up into the tub and bathroom sink. immediately called the job estimator he called dispatch who sent out the same 2 guys and they fixed another problem i wasn't aware of. I will continue to call them for my plumbing needs and recommend them to my friends and family.

They did a great job - came when they said they would - solved the problem and figured out what caused the problem and even gave a small discount.

I called in, and technician Hunter came out same day.  No emergency service fee.  He crawled under the house and correctly diagnosed the problem as a main line clog.  Gave me an estimate; no charge for the estimate.  Came out next day with the equipment and crew to fix the problem.  Took a credit card payment and emailed me a receipt.  Honestly:  it doesn't get any better than that.  I know who I'm calling next time I need a plumber.  Well done Roto Rooter!

When Roto Rooter came to my residence they were very quick in resolving my issue. The problem is that it took me having three appointments for them to show. The first night no one showed up and I had to call to find out why. The second night I was told more than once that someone would be at my house that night. Didn't happen so I had to reschedule again. The third night the dispatcher promised that someone would come. He could me before the plumber showed up to inform me that the plumber was on the way. Roto Rooter is a great idea but I believe the limited technicians makes things inefficient.

Woke up this morning with water in my bathtub and toilet that wouldnt flush after roommate used shower upstairs. I could not stay home in the morning or daytime to get it fixed due to work. Got home at 4:30, called 2 other companies. One's machine was broke, another's pricing structure gave me a headache. Then I called rotorooter. I got a courtesy call around 8:00 saying they were sorry no one had come out yet but the gentleman coming out was finishing up a job and would be at my house shortly and that they would call when he was en route. Which they did again at 8:30. He arrived around  9pm, which is fine by me since I didnt call till 4:30.  Mr. Robert was very professional and friendly. He explained my options.  He began digging and to my surprise quickly dug a 4 foot deep hole to the main line in front yard, cracked open the ancient terra cotta line and fixed the stoppage (FYI disposable wipes are not very disposable.)  My other option was to take the toilet out and go in that way. I asked Mr.Robert which way would have been easier, he said the way he did it. I am not sure about that with all the digging he did but am grateful for all his hard work. I have never seen a hole dug so quick in my life, much less through azalea bush roots everywhere. The price was not as shocking as I expected, which helps more than anyone could imagine. Garnet, Saved the day!!!!!!  He was EXTREMELY Thorough!!!!!!!  I am so glad I contacted them.  I booked my appointment online for 10-12 ... he was here in about an hour from making appointment.    Garnet is funny, polite, and very knowledgeable of plumbing.  I felt very pleased with his service.   Clean up was a breeze.  Their was a camera guy that showed up to show the inside of the drain.  Polite, friendly, very professional.  He walked us through the entire process.  It was amazing...I highly recommend this company and Garnet and the cameraman.  Sorry, didn't catch his name, but very detailed.   .

I called roto rooter today with a sewage problem/emergency and they sent someone out within an hour. Shawn Prunty was very knowledgable about the area I live in, about the specific problem, and offered both a more reasonably priced fix and a more expensive fix.  (Depending on how permanent of a fix we wanted). He was not pushy or condescending and was thorough and detailed. All in all, we were extremely impressed! I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I needed a garbage disposal replaced, and I called RR.  First, I was impressed with the rep who took my call.  Just from my phone number, she was able to locate my vital info on file.  She knew everything but the nature of the work I needed done.  She was very crisp in asking key questions, so the call was quick and efficient.  On the day of service, I received a heads-up call from a rep saying the plumber was on his way.  The plumber was very amiable and went right to work.  He answered all my questions along the way and gave good advice on keeping my disposal working well.  I would give RR five stars, but their prices are high.  An online site said the range in my ZIP code for disposal installation is $176 to $221.  RR charged $260, surpassing even the high end of the range.  They're well-organized and professional, but their prices are not competitive.

Great service. Hot water heater died late Sunday night. Set up appointment online. Lee Huffman a representative from Roto-Rooter came out and told me what had happened, and how they could replace it, etc. Came back early morning with the new hot water heater and installed it. Hot water works perfect!
The best part is, he estimated to be here for about 4 hours, but was done in about 2. He underpromised and over delivered!

Deon Stots #3413 was awesome! Unfortunately the clog uncogged itself shortly before he got here, but gave me a couple tips to help avoid clogging in the future. Definitely investing in a hair catch lol!  Absolutely wonderful customer service, and such professionalism!

I am so pleased with the work and service that I received from Roto Rooter. I discovered a leak on Friday morning and made an appointment for the following Monday -- so we had to wait three days with a leak in our dining room. That company never showed up, so I called several others. They either did not return my call, or were not available that day. When I called Roto Rooter they had someone there within about two hours. As I also had plaster damage, they sent a water damage restoration worker as well. They were both from Roto Rooter, which made coordinating with both of them very easy and really lowered my stress about the entire situation. All three gentlemen were professional, friendly, and easy to get in touch with, even after normal work hours. Next time I need a plumber I will definitely call them first.

Roto-Rooter was amazing. The customer service was outstanding. I was provided with very detailed instructions on the process on how my plumbing would be restored. I was never left in the dark with anything. My technician was always on time and very informative. Gave me insight on my plumbing and was very detailed when explaining my issue. My plumbing was fixed in a very acceptable manner. Again, I just want to say thank you again for the support and business. I will always recommend Roto-Rooter.

Horrible! I had a 5:30 appointment for a repair to a leaking tub faucet. They showed up at 2 in the morning! Yes that's right 2 am! I was charged $250 to change a gasket..... Never ever again!

My hot water heater had a problem with its pilot light. My technician, Joe (2181), was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He fixed the problem and gave me a quick tutorial on how the hot water heater works. If I need any more help with my gas-powered appliances, I will certainly request him.

He was prompt and courteous. Awesome guy!!

They told me they would arrive between 2-4 to repair my clogged drain line. They never arrived! After waiting all day, I called another company that arrived promptly and completed the job. I will never call Roto-rooter again. Very disappointed that a company that has been around for so long can't commit to providing prompt service!

The technician, Brad, was punctual and proficient. He was detail oriented and good at his craft. A great experience overall.

The general manager contacted me to discuss my issue. I was informed additional training will be provided to the technician that came out to my home. I hope the additional training helps others to avoid the problems I had.
