Best Thermostat Repair in San Jose CA

So after a not so good first impression of this company, I wanted to update my review.

I initially wrote a 2 star review for this company after one of their technicians no showed for our initial appt.  I decided to delete the review for the following reason.

After contacting the company about the issue, the owner Vadim reached out to me to see if I would be willing to give them a second chance.   He offered to come out himself at a time that was convenient for my schedule.  I was a bit hesitant, but decided to give them another chance.  Vadim stuck to his word and came to my house the next day, on time.

I was not able to be present for the appt, but my hubby (who was pissed off when the first technician no showed) was very impressed with Vadim.  He said Vadim took the time to really go over the different options, explained why he recommended or didn't recommended certain things and also provided very reasonable pricing on a few different options for a new AC unit.

We are still trying to determine which option we want to go with, so I can not comment on the installation process.  But I will definitely update my review once everything is done.

Andrew and his plumber come by to fix the leaking toilet water supply line originally installed by the builder.   Even though it is a cold evening, Andrew made a trip to Home Depot to get the parts needed for the special plumbing setup different from typical single family homes.   They fixed the problem and are knowledgeable about the unusual setup installed by some builders and they were professional through the whole time here, and Andrew also made recommendations for the other old parts installed by the builder and still in use, so I can be careful not breaking these and keep them in service.  

I have a good experience with AY EMP and highly recommend Andrew's service.

We were pretty unsatisfied with this install. We booked a new HVAC through Costco but were pretty disappointed in the execution. It's been two months since the day they started, and we are still having them come fix things before we can get the inspection. We were without heat for days during a heat wave, because they didn't have parts they needed. (Why didn't they know what they needed before they started?) Then they needed more parts and we had to wait another month. They cut the wiring to our drip irrigation/landscaping and put it back together wrong, which we didn't figure out until half of our garden died from not getting watered. They put the metal pieces on our artificial turf while they were installing which burned parts of the grass which now looks awful. They've taken no responsibility for any of these errors, and claimed they couldn't have been responsible for the burned grass even though it wasn't there the day before the install and then it was. They put the thermostat in a new and very odd place without calling me at work to discuss it first (in between a picture frame and a door jam in a very visible area) and said they'd move it but of course it would damage the wall.. Ugh. Just overall very not slick, not responsive, not responsible for their screw-ups, and not competent.
I'm not sure why Costco uses them. :(

Too many calls asking for feedback. Text ok but repeated calls just for feedback is too intrusive.

Chris from Palo Alto Plumbing (our go-to-plumbers for 30 years) proved to be Yoda for the whole home!  We suspected that our bathroom plumbing was emitting volatile chemicals detected by our Air Quality Monitor. He explained that P-traps in the plumbing prevent gas leakage so that probably wasn't the issue; but he saw small rings of mold in the ceiling. His advice: Kill the mold ASAP and use the exhaust fan during and after showers. He was totally knowledgeable about the plumbing, AND tutored us on a non-plumbing issue that would improve our health!

We requested a quote to replace a kitchen fumehood. The technican came out was professional and responsive. No problem there. The dispatch fee of $89 is fixed. Technicans have little ability to negotiate pricing. I am dissatisfied with the quote given for one hour of work for a basic DIY level job which was $365. Positively, the dispatch fee is subtracted from work done. However, I am dissatisifed in the fact that not a lot of background information is requested to determine the price, ie., no question as to whether the system was duct-connected or not. In my opinion (from my limited one-time experience) the evaluation process is too simplfied, with the outcome being a high price. It was unfortunately not possible to discuss a range of possible prices with customer service by phone beforehand.

Accordingly, you may wish to take the time to request quotes from a range of operators first, unless you really value the convenience of PCE's centralized phone or internet based booking.

We had our annual air conditioning maintenance appt today and our tech was Dave Andrews. Dave did a great job---he was timely, courteous  and professional. He had excellent customer service skills and did a good job representing Bellows. I was very happy with his work and the time he took to accomplish it.
Additionally, we had our annual on demand hot water heater maintenance and plumbing inspection today. Will was our tech for that and he did a good job too.
Overall I have always been happy with the customer service provided by Bellows and the techs they send out.  Keep up the good work!
