Best Door Repair in Orlando FL
Needed some soffit replacement work done and needed it done quickly. Jason was very responsive and available to begin working in just a couple days. He was professional and very helpful in explaining the work he was going to do to complete the job. Jason even worked through a pretty nasty storm to get the job done! We are very impressed with the quality of his work. And he charged an extremely fair price. Will definitely be calling Jason again for our next project!

We had our walls painted and recess lights put in. Extremely good service and you can tell he really cared about the quality of work he was doing. He was very meticulous about keeping his work area clean. Highly recommend!

I discovered a pin hole leak under my bathroom vanity and after surveying the issue, I saw it was over my head to repair; so I jumped online to fine a plumber. It was the weekend before July 4th and I wanted to get someone out to resolve the issue before the holiday. I settled on Harvey Baker Plumbing, they were booked up that Monday, but could come out Wednesday morning. I received a call Wednesday morning that the plumber was on the way. A rap on the door made me aware the plumber had arrived, I open the door to greet him. And to my amazement was this young kid that appeared to be 21 YO. My mind began to race and I am thinking WTF, this kid just finished trade school and he can't do the job. Anyway Nate surveyed the issue and gave me my options, I chose one and he say's I can probably get this done in an hour. I go Really? Nate was a very matter of a fact young man, he went on about his work and about an hour later; I heard the water running through the pipes and i thought *amn not bad. Nate came in and say's I will have your invoice in just a minute. Over all the experience was positive, Nate resolved my plumbing issue and I am happy. The lesson I had to relearn was Never judge a book by it's cover. Thanks Nate, You are the man! P.S. If I need a plumber in the future, I will be calling Harvey Baker Plumbing.

The short version: They're not licensed electricians, which doesn't necessarily matter if you know what you're doing. These guys don't know what they're doing. They did my job wrong, wouldn't make it right, and the owner was borderline abusive when I complained. This might be culturally appropriate in Texas, but it really doesn't fly here. Avoid.
The long version: I engaged Bixno Handy to perform the following tasks:
- Install two ceiling light fixtures
- Install three smoke detectors
- Install a receptacle on the same circuit as a kitchen fixture
- Diagnose a heater that wasn't getting power
- Remove base molding from around crawlspace and install a handle.
They followed up politely and professionally, and promptly dispatched two technicians. The appointment was rescheduled several times during the day because their other job ran long, but I was flexible.
The guys did just fine installing the light fixtures and the smoke detectors. Installing a fixture on the ceiling wasn't workable because there wasn't the right equipment, and this was a reasonable call. I was disappointed, but since there wasn't a way to do it without cutting a hole in the ceiling, I was fine with them not taking on this project.
The work with the base molding was so-so; they removed it, installed a handle, but didn't get the proportions right and didn't reinstall it with screws like I'd asked. It was a last-minute addition to the project (since we had extra time on the clock, and they bill by the full hour) so I don't fault them for my failure to appropriately scope the project.
The primary issue was with diagnosing my heater, the billing, and how the owner responded.
As it turns out, there is a switch on the bottom of the thermostat. It was turned off and this is the only thing that was ever wrong. These guys didn't find that problem, but spent an hour chasing a fault that wasn't really a fault--the electric line was 240v and they assumed it was 120v, which behaves differently.
I ended up having to hire a licensed electrician for about $220 to undo everything they did. He wrote up in detail everything that Bixno Handy did incorrectly, and advised me not to have them do electrical work because they were not licensed and didn't have proper training. When I contacted Nolan Bixler, the owner, to see if he was willing to adjust the bill, he instead called me up to chew me out. He claims I was abusive to his guys (I was polite and professional, but did expect them to work the full two hours I was paying for), and made it clear that not only was he unwilling to adjust the bill, he'd put me on his blacklist. I'm going to have trucks all over this town, he said and we're never going to work with you.
Nolan needn't worry. I'm not inclined to work with him again.
If you need a TV mounted on the wall, these guys are probably capable. However, if you have any more complicated problems, this company is best avoided. More importantly, expect that the mercurial owner will keep your money, won't fix anything, and will blacklist you for complaining.

Over the weekend, I had a family gathering for father's Day, and the topic of the Family Value plan came up. Including myself, 8 of us utilize this plan and services of Ace in the Kissimmee and Orlando areas. The benefits of the plan, I love. Helping prevent a lot of major issues from occurring down the road. This is genius and pays for itself and is extremely useful for my elderly family members.
The issue that drove this negative review is your customer service with the family plan team. This surprised me but didn't really surprise me. You have a representative with the Ace Family team named Samantha. I have spoken to her a few times, along with my aunt, uncles, friends, and a few neighbors. NO ONE had anything worth pleasing to say about this individual. Being that we are a part of a Family VIP program, it really doesn't feel that way. No warm welcome feeling. Yes, we all received a package in the mail, but that's it. No phone call, no check-in. When speaking with Samantha, she never takes accountability. Never fails to tell you, she is not a technician or it is not her department. She spoke to my aunt and uncle as if they were incompetent. I have yet to have a a courtesy or empathic experience her. I called and mentioned I had AC issues, and instead of saying sorry to hear that. Nope, you have the wrong department, and customer service can schedule that. When facing any issues, this is the person in charge of assisting me? Nothing about Samantha is professional. She got into it with my uncle and my neighbor over updating his payment. My neighbor actually drove to the office back in March because of her attitude on the phone. How do you have someone of this caliber managing VIPs? I have had to call in for maintenance. She's not calling us or following up in 6 months. Everytime you speak with her, she's combative and argumentative. Samantha speaks over you and then had awkward moments of silence. Am I speaking to a human at this point.
Ace is a great company, and myself, family, and friends have spent a lot of money with the company and plan to continue, but I refuse to work with people like this Samantha person. If I am paying for a service, I should receive the utmost support and respect. Treat me like family, and not like someone that is bothering you. Lead with integrity, honor, and respect. You are not better than anyone else. You should NOT have people like this working for you. It is giving your company a horrible reputation.
