Best Window Repair in Oakland CA

I had Handyman Heroes replace the back door leading out to the backyard,  replace some window screens and fix the bottom of another door.

Communication was excellent with emails and calls with their office. They had several people come by to check measurements and take photos.

Samuel Hernandez was punctual, courteous and made great suggestions. He was very tidy and made this whole process very easy.

The results exceeded my expectations. I really appreciated the great work. Thank you so much. I will definitely use this company again.

I'm honestly baffled at my experience with Paul. Based on his Yelp reviews he seemed like a great guy with experience and reasonable prices. However, when we hit some minor miscommunications he left in a huff and refused to explain why he was angry or let me rectify the situation. Long story short, I would listen to the other bad reviews about him being a bad communicator. Based on the other reviews, it seems like he's really bad at handling situations that are different than what he expects, and becomes extremely frustrated and rude when that happens. Please see the attached text message conversation. We have never spoken on the phone.

I hired him to put up a shelf and put a blind back up on a roller. When he got there, the tenant got confused and thought he was there to redesign the closet. It also turned out that the blind had more issues than we originally thought.

I texted him back within one minute of his message to forget the blind and I would get it replaced, and that the closet was a miscommunication and to hold on as I was going to call the tenant and tell him that he was just there to put the rack back up temporarily and not redesign the closet. He left in a huff and said that the job wasn't what we agreed upon.

It's true that the details of the situation were different than what I originally thought. For example, I told him we didn't have original screws and stuff and he took that to mean we had the mounting bracket but not the hardware. I'm not a handyman and I don't know the technical terms. It was an honest mistake and I would have been happy to pay him for his time and for purchasing whatever hardware or bracket was necessary.

I tried to communicate with him to rectify the situation and offered to still pay him the full fee even though I was going to find someone else to do part of the job. He became rather rude and told me to stop texting him.

I think the reasonable thing for someone to do in this situation is just say hey this is the situation and it's going to cost $X more if you want me to do it instead of getting personally offended.

Did a great job replacing my broken garbage disposal and also replacing a broken light in my kitchen. Even came back the same day to finish the job. Highly recommended

I'm very picky about house cleaning and Elim and Alexandra did an amazing job. I have a plastic tub that is impossible to get white, even with hours of scrubbing, but Elim was able to get it to a gleaming white. It was miraculous. The communication before was easy and smooth, and they were punctual. I will definitely ask them back for my next deep clean.

Juan Carlos of GAXL Construction responded to a request for quote. He was quick to respond, professional and eager to help me with a backyard patio need. He was never pushy but proactively sent me photos of his work and stayed in touch with me. Unfortunately, I went with another contractor but I want to share what a positive experience I had with GAXL Construction. Based on his professionalism in my prospecting, you should give them an opportunity.

Very responsive and super reliable. We had a clogged kitchen sink and Han came over on a Saturday to help us resolve it. Very detail oriented and made sure that there were no leaks after he helped unclog it. Would definitely recommend and will continue working with them going forward.

This is the second vendor I tried to call who doesn't clear out his message box.  I don't understand how people can run a business, not answer the phone and not be able to leave a message.  Guess work is good for him, I'll take my business elsewhere!

Berkeley Home Repair was a breeze to work with. They helped me out with painting the interior of my condo after my departing tenant left a patchwork of touch-up paint on nearly all the walls. The quote was extremely fast and we worked out all the details in one evening over text and email. Damon was able to fit me in within a week due to weather constraints with another customer, which was extra awesome because I wanted to get a new rental listing up ASAP. The painting was finished in a timely manner, the invoice was sent along promptly, and Damon was even so kind as to send someone back to clean up some rogue paint drops that were left on the carpet. I received way more rental applicants than I anticipated and I'm pretty sure it was due in part to the wonderful paint job.

Later, when my new tenant reported a broken light switch, I shot Damon a text and he responded right away. The communication was not as streamlined for the light switch repair and it took a while to get a day/time pinned down, as well as the invoice afterwards. But, the fix was still made within a week without any technical complications, so both my tenant and I were satisfied.

I plan on turning to Berkeley Home Repair the next time I need a condo repair. They've truly helped decrease the stress involved in being a landlord. Thank you Damon and team.
