I had an appointment for this guy to replace the filters in my Reverse Osmosis under sink unit, yesterday. When it became apparent that he would not show up, I called the phone number, listed here on Yelp several times only to get a non-specific voicemail message, so I wasn't even sure if it was his number. I then tried replying to the email chain we had established for the meeting schedule. That was also not successful. Finally I used Yelp's request a quote link and then he did finally answer. He said, didn't you get my previous message? My son is out sick and I can't make it today. Let's reschedule. The upshot I never got the supposed first message and it was only through my own efforts at communication that he replied at all.
Why do I feel that he is lying and that it was a lame excuse? It is not without precedent. I note that on his Yelp reviews there are many glowing messages, all of 5 stars, and a few really bad 1 star messages. I could not find even one 4 star, 3 star or 2 star review. That in itself seems strange.
It seems the one star bad reviews all have a common thread. This guy is a flake! He always has some lame excuse. One particularly interesting one was from him in Lake Tahoe on the appointed date of a job, and that he was in the emergency room up there. It's obvious that he blew off the job to go skiing and then got in touch with the client as an afterthought.
The ironic thing is that I studied his reviews more closely while I was waiting for him to show up, yesterday. I had initially just gone with the couple of praising reviews, which percolate near the top, being most recent. After reading through page after page I noticed the pattern of his excuse making. I didn't want someone so unprofessional and unreliable in my residence. So I just said, let's just forget it in answer to his typical excuse email.
I ended up doing the job myself.
I also think that Yelp should closely examine all of his glowing 5 star reviews for authenticity. I think that many of them are fakes!!
Here is an addendum:
Ten minutes after I posted the above review I got an irate call from Paul. I can verify that his number is correct now, due to my caller ID. I can also confirm that he likes to shout and use very colorful language. Paul, please do not ever call me again!!

I can't say enough amazing things about this company. They are completely reliable, professional, honest, trustworthy, dependable, and get the job done in a timely and efficient manner. I needed to hang some stuff for the nursery, and I couldn't be more pleased with the result! Paul arrived on time, and did an amazing job.
Paul does solid work and seems to be a really nice guy. Lowering my review here only due to him being a little unreliable and poor at communicating. Was promised an itemized invoice and another quote on new jobs to be done around the house after the last job he completed here and then he promptly disappeared and will not answer a call or text. Tried once at the beginning of the week over the last couple weeks and nothing. I think he would be really solid for odd jobs / one time things but over the long run it seems he isn't someone you can consistently rely on.
Such a great experience! Paul showed up and did everything I needed while injured! So hard to find good, honest trustworthy people that don't take advantage of you. Very grateful!

My husband and I are not handy at all. We had a few projects piling up around our house that we probably could have repaired on our own, but it would have taken months, a lot of sweat, money, questioning our sanity, anger, etc. I reached out to a bunch of handyman companies on Yelp and Paul was the first to respond, getting back to us in less than 24 hours. He offered us a very reasonable quote based on some cellphone photos. He even came out on a holiday Monday!
It took just about 3 hours for Paul to replace a door frame our dog had chewed up, refinish a baseboard that had water damage, and replace the little piece of wood that goes in between the door and two different floors (I have no idea what it's called). He shopped for everything, painted, was very friendly and professional. He even patched a small hole in our closet before he left! We felt that his pricing was fair and reasonable, and was based on the work he did/equipment he shopped for. He left us all the leftover pieces and paint in case we need it in the future.
We were very pleased with the work Paul did and we are already compiling a list of projects we'd like him to work on in the future! We highly recommend him.

We are very pleased with Paul's work in re-caulking our bathroom sink and installing new faucets and drain plumbing. The old caulking was disgusting looking and the new caulking bead is perfect. He did a neat and professional job, arrived as scheduled, and charged a reasonable price.

Paul did a great job installing our new bathroom faucets. Taking out the old ones was a hard job as they were completely rusted over. He never complained and was great to work with. I'm sure we'll be calling on him again for other jobs.
I got a response right away and was able to make an appointment for the same week. Had several shelves and lights put up. Very efficient and professional. I would use his service again!

Thorough, professional and neat work! I called Paul for help in installing Ring Doorbell pro and Ring floodlight camera. He promptly called back and asked me a few relevant questions. Showed up on time and and both the installs were perfect! I highly recommend and will hire him again!

Paul did an excellent job fixing our kitchen sink, mounting a baby gate to the walls, and installing a fixture in our kitchen.
I'll start from the beginning. I found Paul through Yelp, and out of the 5 handymen I sought out, Paul was the quickest to respond with all of my questions. Initially, we needed just the sink fixed and the gate mounted. But when he finished with those two jobs, he asked if there was anything else and we did need one fixture installed in the kitchen. He completed that job no problem and cleaned everything up before leaving.
On top of that, he was not only friendly to me but he was very friendly to our dogs; one of which barks at any sudden movement.
We have a few more projects that need to be completed before September, and I know I will already be contacting him again for those when we're ready. Thank you, Paul!
I found Paul on Yelp. He did a great job. He went out of his way to fit with our schedule. He installed a bathroom pedestal sink and a ceiling light fan fixture. He also put together a bbq grill for us that we needed completed for a party even though he had a full schedule. He gave us an estimate (very reasonable) and stuck to it.
Asked him do garage storage racks, not able to do the job, he came opened the rack box, drilled holes in the ceiling then suddenly realized he cannot do it, he left the boxes opened and left. If he didn't know how to mount the racks he should have told me in the first. These kind of flaky handyman's just waste your time and damage things.

I moved recently to a tiny 1 bedroom in Palo Alto. I needed significant help putting together 2 HUGE ikea storage systems, shelving systems, and hanging up paintings. Because he did such an excellent job, I asked him to return to also paint my front room.
First, his communication is fantastic. He communicated before, during, and after all of the requested work. This ensured that I was satisfied with his timeliness, progress, and end product. Second, he was polite & thoughtful of my space. I was never concerned about my new home or even items around him. He cleaned after each project. He also helped me brainstorm ideas to manage & organize my stuff!
Third, most important, I TRUST him. Because of work I had to unexpectedly leave Paul at my new home alone. I came home to all of the work beautifully completed. I just felt so fortunate to be able to trust someone I barely know to help me even when I wasn't there to supervise.
He is my go to handy person from now on!
I hired Paul to patch my ceiling that had water damage. He replied promptly to my initial quote request and offered a fair price.
On-site, Paul did a great job. He even made an extra trip to Home Depot with a sample piece of my ceiling to ensure that he obtained the exact shade of white paint to make the patch blend in perfectly.
I would recommend Paul for Handyman services for other Yelpers.

Paul was initially responsive to text via Yelp and iMsg. My job for him was to replace a broken Moen faucet cartridge and install a shower head and hand bar apparatus in my stand shower stall. I was to buy the parts and have him come in to install both jobs. We had agreed on the cost of his labor. I went ahead and ordered the parts and told him once my parts come in then we would schedule a time.
A week passes by and my parts came arrived. I messaged and called him and Paul seemed to have dropped off the radar. He stopped responding and I could not get a hold of him. It's been a week now.
What happened? I'm puzzled, maybe he changed his mind on the labor cost? But he can let me know and we can talk about it, whatever it is, he seems very unprofessional and I would not trust or recommend him to anyone. This is not how you run a business.
I called Honey Do! to come and look at a stuck garbage disposal.I was lucky as Paul was just completing a job then came right out. He determined I needed a new garbage disposal as the old one was rusted stuck as it was over 30 years old. He went to Home Depot right away and got me a great deal on a new one. He only charged me a one time service fee for all that!!! I would give Paul ten stars if I could. He did a very neat and professional job and was very polite and informative. I would call him for more home repairs in a second!!
Paul completed several projects at our house. He repaired drywalls and did a wonderful painting for our front door and pergola at a very good price. He paid attention to detail and followed through what he said he would do. I definitely will ask him to return for our next project.
Paul was extremely helpful. He helped with a number of things including electrical work, fixing a vent and a refrigerator. He not only looks at the job at hand but also looks for stuff that could potentially go wrong. Highly recommend!

Paul was absolutely wonderful to work with. I asked him to help with a bunch of different projects at my condo and he was able to fix ALL of them in less than a few hours. His price was extremely reasonable and he didn't charge more for 1 little project that I realized when he was just about to leave. At the end of a very long work day, he still was willing to fix it!
The reason I contacted him was because of how helpful he was on a previous little project. I actually texted him a photo of what was happening with my faucet and he managed to help me through text only! He didn't charge me a dime, which shows his genuine desire to help and his commitment to forming good relationships. I insisted on paying a little bit and was able to send him a little $ for his time and energy.
If you've got any of those projects that you've been meaning to do or get to for months, Paul is your man!

My place of work was having dishwasher problems. We had paid a technician to come out and diagnose the problem only to be told that it would cost us 800-900 to replace the motor. The dishwasher itself cost $900. Since we had a perfectly semi-new and non-used dishwasher on one of our other floors, we decided to just have them swapped.
I reached out to Paul and he responded quickly, providing a quote I was very happy with. He came out and swapped the dishwashers only for us to realize that the issue was never the dishwasher because once he installed the new dishwasher, it was giving us the same code as the other dishwasher and refused to work. Paul didn't have to but he took his time to find out the cause of the issue. Turns out, the hot water was turned off due to the construction that we recently had and was never turned back on. He stayed longer than he intended to and he was so kind and helpful throughout. I can't thank him enough because he just saved me a huge headache and the company $500.
I would definitely recommend Paul and hire him again. Great work!

Paul and his team were great. They were able to work on all my house maintenance issues, with particular focus on installing a doggy door. I will absolutely use them again (they're scheduled to come back next week to do more) and would highly reccomend them to anyone. Also, as a single female that was home alone at the time, I felt safe at all times with these guys in my house. 5 stars.

Paul has been 100% consummate professional - always on time, ready to work and has basically helped me get every typical moving in job done with an extremely high quality of work and diligence. Being a very fussy customer - he is patient, checks and advises on how to best go about a job and even plans ahead to get exactly the right or best looking fixture or fitting to do some very fiddly jobs. He fixed a variety of things to the wall, restored some garden furniture absolutely beautifully and also helped with repairs and fixes around the place. Paul was excellent. Had a small shower head leak and he was able to pinpoint the issue and resolve it quickly. He changed out the valve stems, seats and knobs within an hour. He arrived on time, cleaned up and double checked the work before leaving. Will use him again for other home projects
Highly recommended! Paul did a great job on my bathtub caulking. He was prompt, responsive, work was clean, and pricing is reasonable. He also helped me fix the timer on my motion lights. Paul is looking into fixing my recessed lighting and gave me different options on what I could do so I'll hopefully update my review later with more positive reviews! I really appreciated that Paul was responsive and available the same week! Paul's work was exactly what we wanted. We hired Paul to install custom floating shelves and decorations in the nursery and mount a leaning floor mirror to the wall. He was fast, courteous, and did a great job! We've worked with Paul twice. Both times he was punctual, professional and completed the job in a timely manner. The first time we called him, our new refrigerator's connector hose was broken by the movers from Best Buy and it was spraying water everywhere non stop. Paul was able to come out immediately for our emergency situation and repaired it right away. The second time we called Paul was to have him repair the locks on our gates and garage door. He did an excellent job both times.
Did a great job in replacing the track lights in kitchen. Will definitely hire him again.
This is the chronology:
- we scheduled for them to come in to do caulking and doorbell installation (2 hours) at Wed 17th, 11AM
- he texted and said his truck broke down at Wed 17th 11:06, we understand, stuff happens, we reschedule for next Friday 19th 11AM (My wife took a day off to wait for him)
- at Friday 19th 9:53AM (not the scheduled 11AM) he texted saying that he's been knocking and ringing the doorbell, my wife was there at home (she took another day off) and she heard nothing. He said he's already on his way to Los Gatos.

Paul was so professional and efficient! Contacted him for last minute help to hang a chandelier and he was able to do it within the week and was a pro! He hung the massive chandelier in less than an hour! So thankful!

I hired Paul on two occasions for a number of jobs- to fix a leak in the toilet cistern, put a new door sweep on the garage side door, repairs on kitchen cabinets, fix the screen door, screwing in a broom/mop holder in the garage, fixing the rails of a bathroom drawer, replacing the sprinkler controller and programming it.
Both times he immediately responded back on phone when I reached out. He gave me the $$ quote via text beforehand, after I sent him details of what all I needed. I bought the parts like the new door sweep. Both times he was punctual and professional.
He was also very helpful and told me how to fix my clogged kitchen sink on my own.
He was friendly and patient with my toddler who followed him around with questions and his toy toolbox, which I appreciated.
Both times he did all the jobs very well and quickly. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, professional and friendly handyman.

Paul Cardona of Honey do is a fantastic handyman! He has worked on many projects in my home on many occasions. Everything he has repaired has lasted! He is punctual, creative, and professional in every way. I cannot recommend him high enough, he is fabulous!
Paul is everything you want in a home helper. He's always on time, he has a great ability to size up what needs to be done, and he dives in. He's strong AND great at communication, too. I needed help getting my 84 year old Mom organized to move a long distance. Her big house was needing to get sold and we had a ton of stuff to do, stage, organize and move a house and garage full of stuff. Paul was great, and though he's a big dude, he doesn't intimidate you by cussing or getting too aggressive or slamming things around. This keeps the stress level down. Believe me, I've moved a lot! When you have to move a senior loved one, you need someone like Paul, with his people skills AND brawn! My mom had 10 heavy, tall filing cabinets to give away and we had to get rid of them fast. But we couldn't get a charity out there fast enough to pick up the cabinets. I was worried that they'd rust into scrap metal on the curb (heavy file cabs are hard to get rid of). With Paul's help we got the contents emptied into boxes. Then Paul got all ten file cabs to the curb, and within 2 minutes this guy in a big truck pulled up to take them all away. He said he saw the ad on Craigslist. I said, What ad? Paul had spent all of one minute putting a free ad with photo on Craigslist from his phone. Did I say he's a problem solver, too? He's great, I wish he lived in my hometown, I'd have him tackle my chore list every week!

I had a bunch of things to be taken care of in our home. Paul was very prompt in responding to all my messages. He was also available in the time frame that I was looking for to get the work done.
On the day, Paul arrived with Mark during the time promised and quickly got to work. He finished the work in time and with care. In addition, he also took care of couple of other things that came up for a small additional charge.
I highly recommend Honey Do Handyman Services! I called and left a message about a few repairs and installations that have been on my to-do list for quite a while. Paul got back to me with a quote within the hour and I got an appointment for that same week. He was on time, friendly, did great work, and was fast. He even fixed a towel ring that I forgot to include on my list, because it had been broken for so long. He answered all of my questions about other possible repairs and future installations. I will be using this company again very soon!
I reached out to Paul to get a laundry list of items done at my house (backyard gate that needed fixing, bathroom light fixtures, switches and vent that didn't work, drywall patching and painting, mailbox that needed mounting). He was incredibly responsive, honest and took care of all our needs in a timely and professional manner. His workmanship was flawless and his rates were more than reasonable. We are definitely going to call him for our future home repair needs.
Paul did a great job assembling and mounting 4 cabinets in our garage. From the beginning he always responded to my yelp emails within 8 hours. Don't try and call him, the best way is to communicate through yelp directly.
We set a time to meet and he first came and looked at the job and then gave an estimate. When he showed up for the job, he was on time and prepared with the parts we discussed previously. As you may guess, assembling 4 large cabinets is not an easy task. Paul easily completed this within half a day and mounted them to the studs at the same time.
I recommend Paul for any job around the house that might be to much for someone who doesn't have the time to do it. In fact, I will be using Paul for future projects around the house.
Paul was great. He installed 8 lamps in several rooms and hallway for us, and the job was fantastic, one of the lamp was very difficult to install, but Paul was so patient to get it done. I highly recommend Paul.
I left work early to ensure I would be here for an appointment I made with this guy via Yelp. He didn't show. No contact, no call, no nothing. Frankly, this is a disappointment, as I bypassed a few other people as he was the first to confirm. I want to emphasize confirm, as he used that word in our correspondence.

First of all, they answered their phone. Secondly, they asked for pictures of what needed to be worked on. Thirdly, they quickly gave a quote that was very reasonable. They were kind, quick, and priced right. They also showed me how I could save money and not do everything I thought I needed to do.
Paul came on a short notice to fix up some stuff in my home. There was some problem in the plumbing in the bathroom showers in my house, the water pressure was really low. While all the other handymen gave a quote of $500+, Paul charged me $50 an hour and finished up plumbing and repaired my ceiling fan and a fixed up a few holes in the wall in under 4 hours. I highly recommend him without any reservations.

I found Paul on Yelp a couple of weeks ago. He was very fast to respond and easy to work with. I scheduled an appointment for this morning. He repaired one of the windows in our kitchen and rehung a towel rack in bathroom. He did a great job! I would hire him again.

So I'm recently married and we have two pet fish. I attempted do some fishbowl cleaning which accidentally led to rocks going down the drain. My husband has no clue how to fix a garbage disposal so after about 25 minutes of sticking his hand down there we googled a Handyman Service.

I had previously used him for resetting a leaking toilet in one of my bathrooms so was hoping for this next project to go as seamless. I messaged a picture and measurements requesting an estimate for a 7x7 resin shed I needed assembled. His rate was higher than several others, but I figured if I wanted it done correctly I wouldn't go with the cheaper companies. He also mentioned that he has done several of these assemblies. After mentioning I was a repeat customer, he ended up taking $50 off his quoted range so final price was $400. I scheduled with him for his next available appointment the following weekend.
He arrives one hour late (original eta 9-10a but arrived at 11a). At 9:13a he hadn't arrived so I reached out to him, he replied saying he was at another Client's walk through and was running late. I found it odd that he didn't even bother to let me know. This is where the lack of communication started.
He arrives and seems surprised that the shed is a big one. I show him the existing concrete pad where the shed is to be assembled and placed. I let him get to work. Again, I found it odd that he appeared surprised when I had provided all detail and sizes during the estimate request from the beginning. He also mentions later on it's a two man job which leaves me wondering why he said he has done these before. Certainly he would know then.
3.5 hrs later he was done. I went to check out the shed and tested the doors. Immediately I heard the door scrapping on the concrete and saw the doors were offset and did not align properly. I started to inspect the doors to try and figure out what the issue was. I also started checking the locks and handles. Next issue I noticed is there was a lug nut wrench adapter stuck to the back of the door handle. He then tells me passively that he can't get his tool off, it's stuck. At this point I go back to the door issue and he tells me that because it's larger than the concrete pad, the surrounding pavers would need to be leveled in order to level the shed to resolve the door alignment issue. I was shocked that he wouldn't mention the issue BEFORE proceeding with the assembly. No communication at all. If this issue would have been brought to my attention I could have then made a decision to fix and level the pad out before the shed was placed there. During this time he keeps assuring me it has nothing to do with his workmanship. I tell him I'll contact the manufacturer and if there's an issue I'll reach out to him. I assumed he would say sure, if there's any issues I can take a look. No, he just confirmed again that it has nothing to do with his workmanship. I immediately got the tail light warranty vibe which is never a good sign. I then go back to the stuck tool issue. I politely told him I would prefer to not have him leave his tool handing off the back of the handle and if he needed a wrench I could see if I hand one he could use (he showed up in a small sedan not a work truck so I thought maybe he was limited with tools). Before I could finish my sentence he sighs UGGGGHHHHHHH and he huffed and puffed walking away back to his car. At this point it I was not happy. I was paying him over $100/hour and he was being super rude and did a shoddily job. He then returns with a can of lubricant spray and a tool. He sprayed it and slipped his adapter off within 15 seconds. I wasn't surprised, he lacked any type communication or effort to do the job correctly.
If he would have communicated properly from the beginning and warned me of the leveling issues I would have been more than happy to pay him an additional rate to add some pea gravel or sand under the pavers or to even return another day. Now I have to pay someone else to move the shed and level the area out. Hopefully that fixes the door alignment and gap issues as I would not want to contact him again. Customer service, communication and common courtesy are non-existent.
No tip or no further work from me. I just hope I don't have any further issues down the road ( leaks).

Paul was great! I messaged him via Yelp and he was very quick to respond to all of my questions. He came by to repair our doorbell. The part he needed was hard to find so he had traveled around the Bay to find it but ended up having to order it. He kept me posted as he searched. Once he had the part, he came by to complete the repair. He was able to come by and repair it while I wasn't home. It was great that it was repaired when I came home and I was easily able to Venmo him. I recommend him for any home repairs and will call him again if we need help with anything around the house!

I spent all weekend trying to remove a cabinet that Paul knocked out in 5 minutes, then he installed a nice modern light when the cabling was previously installed incorrectly. He has very competitive rates and is extremely responsive!
I contacted four companies on Yelp to have safety bars installed in two bathrooms. Three got back to me. I chose Paul of Honey Do! Handyman Services and it was an excellent choice. Paul answered quickly and with a fair few for the work. He arrived on time the day of and was prepared with appropriate equipment and knowledge of how to best place and install the bars for maximum safety.
I had bought special heavy duty anchors which Paul did not have the right size drill bit. He ran to the nearby home depot and came back shortly to begin work. He quickly installed the six bars between two bathrooms and even went to the extra step of caulking around each bar where it attached to the wall. The bars were evenly placed and symmetrically installed. And the bathrooms were cleaned up after he finished the job. I'm really pleased with Paul's work and it was so nice to be able to shower in safety. I'm having him back to do some other jobs that need doing.

Thank goodness for Honey Do! Handyman Services. I have hired Paul in the past and I was pleased with the work he did then. I am happy once again with the work he did for me today. I am in the process of moving out of the place that I am currently renting. I need to make sure everything is as it was when I first moved in. I needed a couple of shower heads replaced, a new toilet seat and one of the tubs needed caulking.
Paul responded promptly to the text I sent him about the repairs I needed done. He was able to coordinate with my schedule within the week. He was on time and came on the day that he said he would come. He was fast and efficient in his work. As a courtesy, he even tightened a shower rod that kept falling on me when I sometimes moved the shower curtain.
I plan to use Paul's services again in the near future. His prices are good and his work is great!

Our towel rack and cabinet broke. I'm relatively new to the area and know how hard it can be to find a trustworthy and professional handyman. Paul was honest/fair on prices, fixed the issue in no time, and even came back to fix a small problem we had in a timely manner. I appreciate and will definitely be using/referring him out to the people in my area.
Paul Cardona is an excellent handyman. He does great work. Everything he does is done well. Tasks are done completely with an eye for detail. He communicates well and makes you aware of things you may not have thought about. He has a wide range of handyman abilities with a lot of different household things he can fix.
When I first called him I just wanted some touch up paint work done. He did such a good job with this that we expanded to other tasks and I am not only satisfied but very happy and elated with his work.
His billing is fair and reasonable. He is easy to work with and he is trustworthy. I don't have to be at home while he is working, I trust him.
I would recommend Paul to anyone.

Every homeowner needs a great handyman to help with that honey-do list! I enjoy electrical and carpentry but shy away from the plumbing. Paul responded to my quote request promptly with a fair price and completed our bathroom faucet and shower repairs within a couple hours. I contacted Paul for help during an office move. We had a limited amount of time to move a conference TV and wall-mounted rack server. Paul disassembled the items from the old location and installed it at our new office location. He did a great job and we were very happy. We also had him come the day after our move to help with finishing touches around the office (hanging pictures, moving furniture, etc.) He's now our #1 guy to call when we need help around the office.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Paul is highly UNPROFESSIONAL. He rescheduled multiple times and would come really late in the day for 30 minutes which made the work extend for several more days than it needed to.
Was extremely rude and disrespectful - I was told things like I'm not your personal shopper I can choose what I want to work on.
The eventual work quality was SLOPPY. He left in a huff, did not clean up after himself and left debris all over the kitchen floor. Terrible experience - do not hire Paul. I am expecting Paul to rudely respond to this Yelp review, as he has done so repeatedly to his previous customers (scroll below on yelp). So be it, but it's time to grow up and behave in a professional manner if you want business from this community.

I found Paul here on Yelp. Communication was great by text messages, he replied quick and scheduled appointments promptly. He applied rust encapsulator on our roof window frame (not very easy to reach!). Then he came back a second time for caulking, putting some bolts on the celling and screws on the wall. Paul to the rescue! This is the second time I've called upon Paul. He replaced my garbage disposal and unclogged my sink. He is fast, does a great job and tidy ups. I love how the area always looks cleaner than before he came. And this time he brought a wonderful helper. Its so nice to know I have Paul as a handyman.
I had an issue with my electrical outlets in one of my bathrooms not having any power run through them. I checked for any tripped circuit breakers, but none were tripped. I reset all of them anyway just to see if that would work. It did not work. So I requested quotes from many electricians here on Yelp by explaining my issue and wondering how much it would cost to fix. Most of them replied back by stating how much they charged, anywhere from $100 to $250. Paul stated he would charge his minimum of $125 for labor. I then replied back asking him if he had a sense of what the issue would be. He promptly replied back that the issue could be that a GFI electrical outlet (one of those outlets that have those Test and Reset buttons) needs to be reset. I wound up pressing all the test and reset buttons on every GFI outlet in my house. That worked! I had power again running through my bathroom outlets! The culprit was a GFI outlet in a different bathroom in my house. Go figure...I guess different outlets are connected to one another in different parts of the house.
I was really appreciative of Paul's help and honesty! He could've been one of those other shady and greedy guys who wouldn't offer to help unless I paid them first, but he wasn't. He knew my problem was easy to fix and suggested a solution that I could try myself. He saved me a bunch of money!
We had Paul remove our old mailbox and install a new one. He did a perfect job, making sure to take care of all the little details. It was easy to communicate with Paul, and his rate was very reasonable. He was on time and made sure we were satisfied with the job before finishing. I definitely plan to use Paul again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a handyman.

I had a list of 3 things (2 broken fence latches and a dryer connection) I wanted fixed when I initially requested a quote from Paul. He got back to me within the hour with a follow-up and after sending some photos gave me a quote and a date which I agreed to. He arrived that day with all the parts he needed and finished the job really quickly and professionally. I then asked him for a couple more items that I'd uncovered since our initial conversation (a leaky sink faucet and a broken cabinet panel) and he fixed them on the spot and did not even charge anything additional for that. I'm extremely pleased with his work and would highly recommend him for any job.
We hired Paul twice to do a variety of projects on a rental property. He was quick to reply with a quote, set up a time to come and was professional. He did a range of projects from electrical, minor construction (installing a ceiling fan in a bathroom), hanging levelor blinds, and painting. His prices were reasonable given the list of to do's that we asked him to fix.
Paul helped to fix a running toilet, went to the store bought the right parts and fixed it the right way. He also fixed out broken patio roof. He is very professional and would highly recommend him.
He gets a point for replying quickly and showing up (although late).
However, the requested repairs were not completed correctly. If you pay somebody to fix something, they should own the issue including obtaining the needed parts for the repair and installation. Telling me to go randomly shopping at Home Depot and fix it myself is not addressing customer concern.
BTW, he doesn't do electrical as his ad claims.

Paul is a very nice guy (which has value) but he came without his truck so he had to leave my old vanity in my garage. This would have been fine if he came back to finish when he said he would but he no showed and didn't call for our next appointment. I had arranged to be home from work so this was really frustrating. It was only after I called him 2 hours past our appointment that he let me know he wasn't coming. He sort of apologized and said his car was in the shop and he forgot to tell me. He offered to reschedule later that week but I decided to cancel due to the flakiness. I had that old vanity with nails sticking out in my garage for weeks.
Paul is really the kind of guy who finds a way to make it work! We were in the middle of putting a bathroom back together after mold remediation; including replacing a vanity (that was original to the build - and so an odd size). It took longer than Paul guessed, but he didn't up his price - and he had to really put in so much extra work to make the Ikea vanity/sink fit and hook it up; and hook up the toilet. I really appreciate Paul going the extra mile to get everything done!

I needed a handyman for some work done in the conference room of our office. I turned to Yelp, and called multiple handymen to get their quotes and availability. Paul was the most professional, prompt response that I received, and his price was lower than most others. I texted him on a Tuesday, and he replied that he could do it the following Saturday or Monday. Other handymen told me they were booked 4-6 weeks out. I confirmed the time with Paul that same day. He showed up at 9:00 AM on the dot today, and quickly got to work. He even had to run to Home Depot to pick up additional parts, because I didn't think to let him know ahead of time. He worked quickly and efficiently, and was pleasant and polite the entire time. The work he did looks impeccable, even better than I expected! He also offered to send an invoice for my records. I will absolutely be using him for any future projects, both in the office and my own home. I would confidently recommend calling Paul for any services.

This review is based on one experience with Paul:
Paul did well hanging a couple of mirrors for me. One mirror was very heavy and before drilling into the wall, he patiently held the heavy mirror up against the wall while my wife and I had a long conversation about whether or not to reposition the mirror downwards a few inches.
Both mirrors are hanging level and feel secure. Paul also did some miscellaneous work repairing gable vent screening in my attic. He responded to all my questions while doing the work and helped me better understand the features of my house.
Paul showed up within 10 minutes of our scheduled time, and stayed the full two hours from the time of his arrival. Paul was able to come to my house on a Sunday at 1pm, which allows me to go to work and stay at my work during weekdays. I look forward to working with him in the future.
Before calling Paul, I did look over his one negative yelp review. There was some complaint about paint colors not matching after patching (a wall?). In terms of patching up holes in my walls---I view it as my responsibility to have the right color paint for my contractors. But more importantly, I wish the other reviewer would have posted a photo of the work she had a complaint with. All the photos on this yelp page comprise of before-and-after photos showing high quality workmanship.

Very disappointed in this unprofessional provider. The actual work was subpar, the paint patching looked amateur. He used the wrong color filler so that the paint looked miscolored-- when we contacted Paul with our disappointment he said that he guarantees his work, no problem, and he sounded very customer-service oriented. We scheduled for him to come in and fix his work. My husband took off time from work to wait for him in the middle of Monday. Paul never showed up. He did not call to make an excuse or apologize. Then after we finally got in touch with him, he changed his tune and became irritated and texted us I said I would get to it. First of all he lied and claimed that he just said he would squeeze us in whenever he could, as though we didn't make an appointment. Then he refused to make another appointment and expected us to basically be waiting at home on call for whenever he has a gap in his time to quickly come make the fix. Totally unacceptable. Don't believe his guarantee, and don't go with someone with very few reviews on Yelp just because he can schedule you in faster than the more popular guys... now we are stuck having to spend twice the money because we have to hire someone else to fix the botched job.
Paul, is a professional handyman. Called when he was going to be later than anticipated. Worked conscientiously, and did a fantastic job. What more can a homeowner ask for? Followed up with a text, asking if we were content with the job.... who does that anymore? 100 percent recommend him, but kind of reluctantly, because I want him to be available to do future work for me, but he will undoubtedly be swamped with business because he is a gem. Hire this guy.
Short version: Paul was extremely unprofessional, did not stand by his work, and didn't fix our problem while still charging us $225 for what amounted to less than an hour of labor. Might be okay as a handyman but do not ask him to do any plumbing.
Long version: I'm going to be very factual so there is no confusion about what kind of work you get from Paul from Honey Do!. Our toilet has been clogging for a while. We bought a new plunger, toilet friendly solvent, even a toilet snake, and though we could sometimes get it to clear, the problem would always return after a single use. We needed professional help so we looked around and came across Honey Do!. He said he could fix our toilet and do some other things we needed done around the house, sounded perfect!
Paul came out and was very friendly and after some vigorous plunging was able to get the toilet to flush cleanly. I was surprised plunging did the trick, but it seemed to work, so we paid him and all was well, until we actually tried to use the toilet...
After one use, it didn't work. No problem, Paul told us he had a 30 day guarantee, so we contacted him thinking he'd come see what the real problem was since clearly plunging is not the answer. That's when it went downhill, and downhill fast...
First, he was going to charge us another $75 plus parts to fix it. When I brought up the 30 day guarantee, he said he already fixed the problem, and if it's broken again it's because we clogged it again, blaming us. He then got offending saying you don't get to tell me how to run my company and you're wrong. He said he was done with me. So, I just said I would write this review, at which point he called me a coward and a scumbag and said he would blacklist me so no handyman would ever work for me again.
So again, extremely unprofessional, does not stand by his work, did not fix the problem. I highly recommend going to someone else, especially for plumbing issues.

I asked Paul to repair leaking from under sink of vanity, caulking edge of bathtub and installation shower handle that my former contractor gave up in the middle of the project. Not only all his works were reliable and conscientious, but also his response was so prompt to make appointment. His hourly rate was quite fair. I want to ask him in case anything is required next time too.
I contracted for two bathroom vanities to be replaced. Some tile work was going to be required where I provided the tile (13-15 floor and wall tiles per bathroom; honed marble). First vanity was demo'ed and removed ok and the new vanity went in ok. Problems occurred with the tile work. Paul may not be familiar working with natural stone. The wrong grout was used (should be non-sanded grout vs sanded grout) and an acid based grout deglazer was used which severely pitted the honed tile (I needed to have the floor re-honed and re-grouted). I decided to call it a day and did not have the 2nd vanity installed. Work scheduling was also troublesome (rescheduling of work days due to various reasons; arrival time).
Hired Paul to disassemble, move and reassemble a play structure for the kids. He exceeded my expectations from the get-go. He was responsive to calls and texts, he came on time, worked hard ALL day and was always professional. The kids love the structure, the adults love that we didn't have to get into a fight while assembling it. It was an overall win-win situation. I will definitely use him again.

Had to get someone repair the smoke detector on a property I managed. Paul was quick and responsive. Flexible scheduling. I was able to schedule an appt with him and the tenant on the same day.
I had some door staining, shutter repair done, and he did a great job. was out when he said he would be here, very friendly, will definitely call him again
All I can say is Paul is great. He came to install a new bathroom vanity
and did a fine job! He had another appointment he had to make, but came back and even let me know that he was just finishing up and would return shortly. He ran into a couple of problems, but like a pro he found the solution. I also asked if could do another couple of small projects and he didn't bat an eye. He will return soon to finish those two, so I guess I have a couple of days to find other projects...just kidding. Paul is very personable and very conscientious. I will definitely use Paul again when the need arises.

Greetings Fellow Yelpers. The communication and quality of work is excellently my opinion. Paul replaced our garbage disposal with patience and skill. We will definitely call for his services again!
Paul responded to my quote request and quickly knew what my issues were when I told him what problem I was having. He recommended what was needed and was able to make it out to my house to replacement my garbage disposal the next day. Made it super easy for me since he was able to pick up a new disposal, so I did not have to go get it myself. Saved me so much time.
He was prompt and efficient. I will definitely call him again if any other work is needed around the house and would recommend him to friends too.
I too had two large, decorative mirrors in need of hanging. Paul responded immediately to my inquiry, arrived punctually, and performed the task requested of him expertly and diligently for a fair price. I will engage him again, without hesitation, on matters small and large, as they arise.
This trade never returned several phones calls or email. Bad customer service !! The response time advertised is wrong. I tried several different days and times over a 2 week period before writing this review.
Paul was on time and communicated well throughout the projects. He hung a TV, fixed the front door, fixed a kitchen drawer that had fallen through and did some minor plumbing. Paul was thorough and stayed with the estimate despite things taking a bit longer than anticipated. I will be contacting Paul for all my handyman needs.
I sent a request for a quote and Paul responded within the hour. We needed to have two curtain rods hung and some help with trim painting and picture hanging. Paul arrived on time and did an excellent job for the price quoted. My wife and I are very happy with the work and will defintley be calling on Paul again.
Paul was great! Work was all done quickly and competently and he explained to me what he was doing with each time. As an added bonus he was great with my dogs.
Paul was a pleasure to work with! He arrived on time, was very polite, and got everything done efficiently and quickly without leaving any messes behind! I had a cabinet that needed fixing and a new hinge. He went above and beyond to try and source that hinge for me, visiting multiple Home Depots, even specialty cabinet stores to get what I needed. Unfortunately, no place had the correct hinge, but he then found the exact piece I needed on Amazon and I was able to get that fixed no problem. Because of his dedication, I was still left with a resolution when he could have easily given up after the first hardware store visit. Would definitely hire him again in teh future!
Paul is amazing! He answered my call right away, I sent him photos of the work to be done, and he was here 10 minutes before the scheduled time. He worked diligently and asked me questions along the way to ensure that I was pleased with the work. Paul was done in about 2 hours and our new kitchen light fixtures look wonderful! He even hauled away the old fixtures and boxes. I will definitely be calling him in the future with a list of other honey-do work!

I reached out to paul to help with some projects that I wanted to get done (but didn't want to wait until I had enough time to get around to them). He was able to help me with getting them done and did it in a professional manner. Making the schedule work was not a problem, and the outcome was great and I couldn't ask for more. So I very much recommend.
Paul did a fantastic job installing a heavy and tricky wall rack. I am so happy with the end result and will definitely be calling him back for future projects.
Paul is great. He replaced the filters in my water purification system. The system is complicated but he did his homework before coming and got it done nicely. He is very professional and polite too.
Honey Do! Handyman Service (Paul Cardona) most certainly lives up to his 5-Star Rating! I hired him to assemble an 8x8 Toolshed (See Photos). I interviewed various others for an estimate and his price was about in-between others I had interviewed.
I selected him not because of price but when I spoke to him he seemed so professional, and I felt from his outstanding Yelp reviews, the experience and quality of his work was more reassuring for the big project I had, and I was right on target!
I'm so pleased with the final outcome of my 8x8 tool-shed. I was a little hesitant he was tackling this big project by himself (others I interviewed had at least 2-people, and they were more expensive since I was probably paying for 2-people to do the job).
Some people work their best by themselves and Paul is one of those - He explained that with just himself, he knows the quality of the work will be met to his expectations.
Paul is a Perfectionist in every detail! The tool-shed had a defective-flaw that meant possibly delaying the install so the store could send another part ... But guess what! Paul figured out how to fix the flaw so he was able to continue to install the shed (and he didn't even charge me extra to work around the problem it had!)
What would have taken 2-people to do in 5 hours, he completed by himself in the same time frame.
I was so impressed with the quality and his work ethics I'm having him come back to install a new porch light, assemble some patio-chair benches, fix a faucet, fix broken fireplace screen, & repair linoleum kitchen floor. He is truly a Jack of all trades! I'll be revisiting this review with my future projects :-)

I recently contacted Paul for his services for moving assistance as I relocated down south. He arrived promptly and took down my bed frame, curtain rod and repaired holes in the wall. Paul gave me a price estimate and date that he would come out to fix a faucet in one of my rentals. I'm 700 miles away. He was honest, reliable and a pleasure to work with from afar. He set me a video of the problem fixed, and met his estimate precisely. It's hard to find someone this honest and reliable these days.
I yelped a good handyman in west San Jose area and found Paul. Contacted him right away. He was pretty occupied but responsive in a timely manner. He came this morning to install my window blinds. He did an excellent job and also I asked him additional stuff(getting rid of ground nails)in my backyard. He took care of it as well. I appreciate his work. Will definitely call him in the future. I found Paul through Yelp; the stellar reviews are accurate. Our bedroom toilet had all kinds of issues including flooding and a leaky valve. Paul returned my message within moments of my posting it, and we were scheduled for a repair within 24 hours. He showed up a bit later than scheduled, but was a courteous enough to call ahead and let us know of the delay; after the initial postponement, he was there and was very nice, very courteous, and very professional. Considering his work area from Sacramento down to San Jose, I was surprised at how quickly he was able to meet our needs. I would recommend Paul and Honey Do to anyone that needs home repairs, and he's at the top of our list for the next job that comes up.
Paul just replaced my garbage disposal today in my rental unit and did an awesome job. He was flexible given that I was offsite. What was noteworthy was that he drove out to buy a new electrical cord because he wasn't confident in using the old cord. I found out earlier that it's common for people to reuse the old cord from the old disposal, which isn't the safest. I like that he has standards.

I needed to replace the bathroom fan, and I thought I would need somebody to drill a hole in the attic to access it from above. Paul got back to me within hours (on a weekend), and he ended up saving me a lot of money, since he was able to install the fan from below and avoid the drilling. I will definitely call him again the next time I need handyman services.

Assembled our IKEA bed in 2-3 hours, polite and professional. Snafu re: arrival time- late and hadn't heard from him so was wondering if he was going to show. But he responded to my text right away and took care of business once arrived.

I'm very thankful to have found Paul! Our last handyman ghosted me, with several projects left unfinished. Paul needed to reschedule, but was very communicative about it. He was right on time, clearly communicated the cost of the projects that I asked him to complete prior to starting the work, and kept the house very clean while he moved through the rooms that needed work.
I'm happy with the work that was done! He replaced the weatherproofing on four exterior doors, repaired a bathroom ceiling fan, repaired a cabinet door that wouldn't close, and installed a platform for our washer and dryer. Schedule for him to come onsite to my house to help out with installing a new kitchen sink, install a Nest system, stucco work on the house, and seal up and old dryer vent. Paul came over on time and as scheduled. He is a friendly person who took time for me to go over details on what I wanted him to do that day. My old contractor flaked out in me for the kitchen project - Paul just stepped in and started to work on it. I was a bit worried at first since it appeared that removing the kitchen faucet was harder then intiallu expected but Paul persevered and eventually got the stripped screw to come off for him to complete the work. Paul was courtesy and conscience of who I had at the house but just went straight to work, didn't take any breaks, didn't stop for lunch or anything. Hard worker!!!
I am going to be using Paul for other projects around my house and glad that I had an opportunity to work and trust the reviews given about him.
Paul was punctual, professional and provided great service! He installed some wall-shelves (and even added his own bolts to make them extra secure) - as well as hung some art pieces around my apartment in no time.

This is the second time we requested help from honey do! as we had a clogged toilet and a front door lock that was falling apart. As always, Paul is dependable and courteous and always tries to arrive on time or texts us if running late. I had run out to Home Depot to purchase a new front door lock for replacement but Paul suggested the old one just needed to be tightened (which only took 5mins). The price Paul quotes is always competitive and on top of that he also tries to save his clients money by not doing unnecessary work or replacements
I needed to replace 2 faucets (kitchen/bath). I requested a quote on yelp and sent pics. Paul responded super quick and was able to make an appt right away. He completed both and they look great. Quick, simple, responsive -- thats all I want when I need projects done at the house. Paul definitely delivered and is a nice guy to boot. Will definitely call him again for other projects in the future. Highly recommend!

We called Paul to mount our 2 tv's on the wall and check our outside light. He got here on time. we had some issues because the wall mounts we purchased were not the right ones for the tv's. One of them was purchased directly from the manufacturer (Samsung) however Paul told us he was concerned because it didn't look sturdy enough, he said if it was his house he wouldn't install it, so he ended up using the one we purchased at Amazon and installing only one of the TV's he also fixed our outside light. He is kind, patient and very meticulous he takes his time to make sure it is perfect. We are super happy with the results!!

Paul is the best! He kept in touch as to his arrival time and I also asked him to do an additional task when he was here and was so nice. I am getting ready to do knee replacement surgery and needed a new shower head and a raised toilet seat. Both things done in no time at all!

I would like to give more stars but 5 is the max, I contacted Paul through yelp and he responded to my request immediately. Initially I planned to take care of few items in my home but after seeing his dedication, punctuality and expertise I completed almost 15 pending items. Paul provides advise on what is needed, troubleshoots issues super fast as well fixes it immediately. He works very fast as well makes sure work is complete 100%. He helped me with kitchen faucet, shower faucet, door alignment, bathroom cabinet, lighting, patio shade, door lock to name a few. My house before and after the work looks the same because he takes care of the cleaning as well. I am very happy to have met a person like Paul and look forward to working with him in future.

This review is based on the experience of making an appointment and not for the actual service as we didn't get that far. Paul was initially very prompt in responding to my call for an estimate and appointment. He had me email a list of things I needed done and he quoted me right back on email. He even gave me an appointment for two days later. Great so far. But here where it broke down: he called me 30 minutes before he was due to arrive and cancelled due to truck problems. Never calling back to reschedule or anything, I emailed again to reschedule to which he responded quickly asking days that's work. When I responded with that info he disappeared and I have yet to hear back. Very flaky and not a good first impression. Sad cause other reviews were good. Highly unprofessional way to conduct a business.
I can attest to the five star rating from start to finish.
- Paul was prompt in responding with a quote, and itemized it for the different pieces of work I outlined.
- Showed up on time, professional, pleasant.
- Assembled the various pieces of furniture we needed his help with. Fast work, yet high quality.

I needed to have my nest thermostat and doorcam installed and Paul was able to do it the day after he quoted me his price (which was very reasonable). He came on time and even texted me before he was in the way over. After the install we found the AC not working but he kept on troubleshooting and found out the fuse to my furnace was the culprit. Luckily he had an extra fuse and was able to get it working. My doorcam works like a charm and my AC has never been colder. Can't express how much that means to me in this heatwave.
Thanks again Paul, you will definitely be my go to handyman. It doesn't hurt that you take Venmo so I didn't have to write a check (who the heck still has a checkbook?) or run to the bank.

I had Paul come to work for me at my brother's apartment in Carmichael, when I came into town to help him get settled into his new place. Usually in your own town you have trusted handyman that you turn to for jobs, but in this case I had to rely on yelp to find Paul.
Paul showed up on time, was friendly, informative, and willing to work with me to create just what I wanted. He was fast, his work was exceptionally clean, and he was in a good humor the whole time! That counts for a lot, I think.
He left the place spic and span, with a finished product that is 100% perfect.

This review is for Paul at Honey Do HandyMan Services. I never hired him for work -- thank goodness. He was so incredibly rude and unprofessional in his communications with me, I ended up not hiring him.
I contacted him in November 2015 to get a list of tasks done around our home. We were in no rush, so we hired him for December 18, 2015. I texted Paul on December 17, 2015 confirmed that he was coming the following day -- Paul texted yes. I took the day off from work, specifically to get these projects done for Paul on December 18, 2015.
On December 18, 2015 -- he sends me a text from Lake Tahoe at the LAST MINUTE that he is in the E.R. and has to reschedule. Hmmm....sounds fishy.....but I reply that I hope he is feeling better. Extended skiing/snowboarding trip? Who's knows....but regardless, he says he has an opening on the following Tuesday or Wednesday. What about the E.R.??? Sounds like Paul is going to be A.O.K.???
I give Paul the benefit of the doubt, and reschedule for the following Tuesday. Even though I took a day off from work, due to his last minute cancellation. After talking about it, my husband and I decided to not hire Paul because his whole story about Tahoe and the E.R. sounded so random and unreliable, that we didn't want to hire someone we couldn't trust into our home.
I texted Paul over 24 hours in advance cancel our Tuesday appointment. Figured that would give him more time to heal from the E.R. or recoup from his Tahoe trip. Whatever. He texted me back SCREAMING that I was inconsiderate for cancelling at the last minute and to never text him again. Ha! Are you kidding me????
We are so relieved we went with our gut instinct and not hire this rude and unprofessional person. I'm sure he would've messed up our projects around our home as well. We definitely dodged a bullet with Paul.

Paul was great! I hired him because I thought our disposal had broken down. Within 10 minutes, he had identified the problem and given us a workaround that would have kept it running for a few more years.
Since I wanted to proactively replace it with a better model that was less prone to clogging up, he needed to repipe the area underneath the sink so that it could fit. He found a clever way to do this that didn't require making large changes to the piping, saving ~$100 off his initial estimate.
He always kept in touch via yelp messaging, so I never felt out of the loop.
Would definitely recommend him.
Paul did a great job installing our new toilet today. He picked it up from Home Depot and installed it without any drama or issues. Nice guy and extremely capable. Price was reasonable. Highly recommend him and we are hanging onto his contact info for the future.

So lucky Paul was referred to me by a friend! I was in a panic because my rusted backyard garden faucet/valve could not be tightened and was leaking water. I texted him a picture of the spigot and he said he did not have time to fix it until two days later which I agreed to at first. Later, seeing how much water was leaking, I asked if he could come sooner. He made time in the morning before his busy day started to fix it which was way above and beyond. Thank you!!
He knows what he is doing, compassionate to emergencies, didnt leave a mess, and will continue to call him and refer him to friends.

Paul was a busy man. He could be hard to reach. I guess this is because he is GOOD !
He removed and installed 2 kitchen faucets for me in about an hour.
His double checked his work was done properly before he left.
I would ask for his help again in the future if needed for sure.
Paul was exceptional! He was the first to respond to my request for a quote and by far gave me the best deal. He completed the work in a most timely manner and did a great job! He was also extremely flexible as I tagged on extra work for him while he was at my place. Many thanks, Paul !
I highly recommend Paul. I called him this morning at 9am needing two light fixtures swapped out. He rearranged his schedule to be here this morning, he showed up almost ten minutes early, he was extremely professional and very nice, AND he only charged me for half the job because he found that the wiring in my bedroom was faulty! Paul was great and I would highly recommend! I called him on Sunday and he came over within 2 days later to (1) install our wall mount tv, (2) connect our Ring doorbell to our internal wiring, and (3) replace a broken light switch.
He was very knowledgable and was able to complete the jobs quickly. I will definitely be calling Paul with any handyman needs I have from electrical, plumbing, repairs, etc.
I'm honestly baffled at my experience with Paul. Based on his Yelp reviews he seemed like a great guy with experience and reasonable prices. However, when we hit some minor miscommunications he left in a huff and refused to explain why he was angry or let me rectify the situation. Long story short, I would listen to the other bad reviews about him being a bad communicator. Based on the other reviews, it seems like he's really bad at handling situations that are different than what he expects, and becomes extremely frustrated and rude when that happens. Please see the attached text message conversation. We have never spoken on the phone.
I hired him to put up a shelf and put a blind back up on a roller. When he got there, the tenant got confused and thought he was there to redesign the closet. It also turned out that the blind had more issues than we originally thought.
I texted him back within one minute of his message to forget the blind and I would get it replaced, and that the closet was a miscommunication and to hold on as I was going to call the tenant and tell him that he was just there to put the rack back up temporarily and not redesign the closet. He left in a huff and said that the job wasn't what we agreed upon.
It's true that the details of the situation were different than what I originally thought. For example, I told him we didn't have original screws and stuff and he took that to mean we had the mounting bracket but not the hardware. I'm not a handyman and I don't know the technical terms. It was an honest mistake and I would have been happy to pay him for his time and for purchasing whatever hardware or bracket was necessary.
I tried to communicate with him to rectify the situation and offered to still pay him the full fee even though I was going to find someone else to do part of the job. He became rather rude and told me to stop texting him.
I think the reasonable thing for someone to do in this situation is just say hey this is the situation and it's going to cost $X more if you want me to do it instead of getting personally offended.
Paul recently did all the necessary finishing work on my garage. His work is very orderly and clean and proceeds without a hitch. He is thoughtful and detail oriented. He is a good listener and uses his experience to understand the scope of the job and what considerations may lay behind it. His quotes are well considered and cost effective.
Paul also demonstrated that he has the ability to work with the homeowner in making changes on the fly, as he did with me when we decided to add extra cabinets on another wall. Because he had made a template for the other cabinets he installed, it was a snap to go right ahead and put up the others with a minimum of effort.
As other people mention, he is very comfortable in his own shoes and has a quiet assurance about himself. His work reflects that. As a former construction person myself, I found in Paul's work the little extra touches that a true professional includes, such a running a bead of caulk around all joints and seams before painting is begun.
Without any hesitation, I would recommend Paul for any type of work around the house. We will definitely use his services again.

I hives that they followed COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES. They put together my electric heater fireplace unit in it own cabinet in less than an hour and brought it into house for testing and final placement. Courteous, clean, efficient.
Quick in and quick out, good work and fair pricing.

He made time for my dishwasher repair on short notice, showed up on time, got the job done quickly and cleanly, and helped me diagnose an unrelated electrical problem. Paul did great work, quick to respond, and very reasonably priced. I had a leaky faucet that got progressively worse over the last few month. I wanted to get it repaired, but turns out it's better to just replace the whole faucet for future reliability and roughly the same cost. Paul also found the valves to have rusted significantly, and recommended replacement for those. He only charged for the additional labor, and provided itemized receipt for all the supplies used for this project. Very satisfied with Paul's work and would use him again for fixes around the house.

It is easy to understand why some people work for themselves. This man would not make it as an employee. His work ethic is rotten. Paul Cardona is not easy to work with nor did he stick to scheduled appointments. He was rude and unkind. Left his undone work undone and didn't offer to return my money for his errors. He has lots of excuses like he travels from Sacramento, couldn't find what you needed at Home Depot and spending time with his girlfriend's son all after committing to work at your place.
He left me hanging without his work completed and was rude about showing up as agreed. I just gave up on him.
Also he refuses checks and wants only Venmo as a personal payment which is sleazy.
Paul rocks! On time, cost as promised, done perfectly. And then today I called him about a job and he convinced me I can do it myself with a product from Home Depot.

Paul is really fantastic. I called him and he returned my call with 24 hours. I had him install 2 wall sconces and a mounted shelf under the TV in the family room. He arrived on time and did a wonderful job! I plan to call him now for all my household projects! Less stress for me and less arguments with my wonderful husband !

Paul you're awesome. On time, quick communication. Fixed the fan/light in my bathroom suggesting replacing the motor rather than the whole unit to save money. I will definitely be calling Paul again.
Paul was very professional and courteous. I had him install a kitchen facet and a fire alarm unit. He finished both tasks in an hour and charged me a very reasonable price.

I contacted Paul to assemble and hang a cabinet for me. He showed up on time and did a great job! While he was there I also asked him if he could take a look at my ceiling fan. I had a light bulb that had broke inside of it and could not remove it. He fixed it for me and even offered to install the new light bulb at no extra charge. He was polite and very patient since I wasn't exactly sure where I wanted to hang the cabinet. He held it up for me in different places so I could figure out where I wanted it to go. I will definitely use Paul's handy man services again in the future!!

Paul is very prompt, professional and does great work. He helped with quite a few things with our house like electrical outlets, painting, curtain rods, cabinet pulls, etc. We were pleased with his work and would highly recommend his work to a friend.
I contacted Paul for help, and he recommended a solution I could do without an electrician.
I tried it, and it worked. I was inspired that he was willing to offer his advice rather than try and charge me for a service. It convinces me that he's concerned about getting the job done, rather than billing as much as he can. I'll be coming here for all my electrical needs from now on!

But he is irresponsible, unreliable, and his work is average at best; horrible at worst.
As direct result of his and his assistant's work, we are out thousands of dollars. They RUINED our unsealed brick deck by pouring and dripping Thompson's Sealer on it while over-applying the sealer to the pergola above (also ruined).

Initially: I got a fairly quick response from him after first contact. But then it was a series of emails and attempts to nail down a meet date that resulted in too many days going by - and a total no show (waited around for hours; Paul never showed).
Finally, he comes and proceeds to ruin the deck, ruin the pergola, and slap some boards on a wall in the garage that looked like a third grader did it. I had another handyman come out and assess; he laughed at the work.
Paul kept stating that he stands behind his work and expressed frustration at the destroyed deck (completely blamed it on the assistant - but isn't the work of the assistant ultimately his responsibility?) and then told me he would make it right. It took weeks for him to make time (arguably, it was circumstances out of his control).
During the weeks that he was unable to address the project and damages, efforts were made by us to fix the deck and the cushions (the sealant had dripped all over the deck furniture as well). We spent over 15 hours on it. Our money; our time.
There was no way to extract the sealant from porous brick.
When he finally set a time to come over to truly assess and discuss restitution, he didn't show. He. Didn't. Show.
Again.
He will claim that he did come. Apparently, he arrived nearly three hours after the scheduled time and tried to say that he was here and that he'd come to fix the situation. Ummmm... No. Your scheduled time was three hours earlier. Incredibly unprofessional. After sitting around for two hours, we left the house.
Although damage control and/or replacement will run in the thousands, we simply asked him to return half of the amount paid to him. Never heard back from the guy.
Paul has helped us with several jobs around our new house, including removing an ancient alarm system, fixing a broken patio door, replacing a chandelier, installing curtain rod hooks, etc. Though he has had to reschedule twice, he's always been very communicative. He works quickly and charges reasonably! Will be contacting him again for more things that need to be completed around the house!

Matt came out to fix a vent that was almost three stories up in the back of our house. He arrived on time, was super friendly, and his price was very reasonable. We are very pleased with the work Matt did and will definitely hire him again to help with issues around the house.

I needed an under sink water filter installed and didn't feel comfortable drilling through my quartz countertop myself. Paul asked the right questions about the installation, made sure I was happy with where it was going to go before drilling, and did a great job installing it. He also helped re-hang a door in my home that wouldn't stay in position.
Would highly recommend him as a handyperson for his great communication and work.
Paul did a great job to mount the blinds. He was very quick and though he could come in the promised time, he kept us updated on the changes in the scheduled time.
I've recommended him to couple of my friends as well.

Paul replaced two bathroom sink faucets, a front door handle, put up 4 smoke detectors and installed an outdoor fountain for me. His prices are reasonable, the work was excellent, completed in a timely fashion and he is personable and easy to have in the house. I would have given him 5 stars but his communication was a bit lacking. He was originally supposed to come one day around 1 and didn't show up. got an email later saying his first job was taking more time than he thought and he would come around 3, but he never came. We set up another appt for different day between 9 and 10 AM but he didn't come til mid afternoon. So both days I spent hanging around when I could have done something else. I would definitely hire him again despite that complaint.
My friend worked with Paul before and recommended him to me. Glad that I contacted Paul to install our chandeliers. Before the appointment, he asked for photos and descriptions of the light fixture to be installed, and gave a reasonable quote. On the day of appointment, he was on time and did a great job. He even organized the boxes of packaging after he finished the installation. We are happy with the new lights and will definitely contact Paul again in the future.
I initially contacted Paul from a list of many other handymen. I had a toilet leakage on the second floor which made its way to the first floor ceiling. Paul was responsive and provided me with clear expectations to solving my problem with an estimate of cost. He gave me a time he would arrive and he was able to asses the problem and even made his way to the local home deport to purchase all the supplies need to clean the leak and patch the ceiling. In the end-- Paul did great work and he's a nice guy too with reasonable price. A hard working professional trying to grow his business. I will be using him again. (June 2015)

Paul was amazing!! He arrived on time, explained what he was going to do with replacing my garbage disposal, worked very efficiently, and didn't take long at all. My garbage disposal has been broken since I moved in half a year ago, and Paul made sure not only the disposal was working optimally, but also checked and cleaned out the hoses to ensure no other problems would arise. Top all of this off, and Paul helped move a filing cabinet up a flight of stairs at no charge!!!! Who does that? I am going to bring Paul back to replace a thermostat soon too. I am so impressed with Paul and his work. Top notch service.
Paul provided competitive pricing and was able to hang my outdoor TV in a prompt turn around time frame. He even was able to pick up a longer extension cord on the way. Paul impressed me with his plumbing knowledge. I had an issue with a broken garbage disposal, leaking kitchen faucet and uncontrollable water leakage from my dishwasher. Paul was able to resolve all 3 issues within a reasonable time and the best thing about the service is the follow up call I received. I will definitely text/email Paul back for any plumbing issues I encounter and I just found out he does electrical work as well. Great Job Paul

We hired Paul to help us with some odds and ends for our move out. He was very quick to respond and was available to schedule us in with short notice. He did a great job with everything we asked him to do (install mini blinds, remove outdoor window shades, patch up holes). We also asked him to install a kitchen to garage door, which was a bit tricky to do, but he managed to do it well. I would definitely hire him again for any other handy work I might need to do in the future.

I cannot recommend Paul Cardona highly enough. Had just about given up after searching since last September for someone to come into my older home much in need of TLC. After contacting Honey Do Handyman Services on line and placing a request, Paul got back to me almost immediately. My needs are ongoing one job at a time and Paul is so gracious in accommodating my time and space limitations. He is thorough and meticulous and ingenious when it comes to working under less than perfect conditions. He also offers great advice as to how best accomplish a needed change or upgrade. Upon meeting him for the first time and explaining the difficulties I was facing with a husband who recently had a stroke and needing the house readied for his return free of obstacles, he told me he had my back., and he is true to his word. I feel most comfortable in recommending Paul to anyone; he is professional and trustworthy and has provided me with a level of comfort much needed at this time.
