I have to say the only person I trust with repairs to my home is with preferred home repair. Matthew, the owner, is reliable, friendly, and trusting. He arrives on time and is always ready to take on any repair. The first repair was to replace my hot water heater. Funny that same day my kitchen pipe bursted and he was able to fix it all in one day! The second time I needed help, Matthew was able to arrive immediately the next day when we were available to fix our air conditioning. Both jobs were emergent and he readily took on the job. He is an expertise in his field and knows what he is doing. So glad to have a contact like him in my book!

I will try to keep this short. We have been having an issue with our 2 year old boiler for months. Had one Company come out 3 times (JMC Quality Air and Heating) and could not figure out the problem. Enter Mike from Lesco Plumbing Heating and Cooling, NO LIE within 5 minutes he knew the boiler was cracked inside and leaking hence it not working. This all happened on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving which I was hosting and already had not had heat 4 days! He provided a quote on site and I had no choice but had to replace the 2 year old boiler. He went above and beyond to get to me on Wednesday morning IN A SNOWSTORM (the day before Thanksgiving), and he is taking care of returning the boiler to the manufacturer and seeing if I can get some $$ back on a warranty because it was cracked on the inside.
He and his crew were not only professional but neat, pleasant and VERY polite and they also went above beyond to the point where they left and then Mike called one technician back to my house because the radiator wasn't working properly he came back and fixed it!
I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone! They are TOP NOTCH!!!!

We needed a plumber to locate a leaking pipe in our dining room ceiling. Continental Plumbing responded professionally and was able to answer all of my questions regarding fees, covid safety gear and who would be ringing our doorbell. The plumber arrived on time, was polite, assessed the work that needed to be done and advised us of the problem. He gave us a reasonable price for the repair and once we agreed to the work, the plumber and his associate covered up our furniture and made the repairs. We were satisfied with the work and plan to make them our go to plumber.

These guys are absolutely amazing. Hands down the best experience I have ever had with any kind of contractor, anywhere, and I've used lots of them over the years. The service and professionalism and communication and attention they provide are the kind you'd expect from the guy you know in a small town; I was so pleasantly surprised (shocked, actually) to find someone like this in Manhattan. If you ever need plumbing work done, do yourself a favor and call these guys! Seriously!
We found out that our shower was apparently leaking and causing some issues in the unit below us, so we needed a fix. Since we hated our bathroom, we decided to gut the thing and start anew rather than trying to patch things up. We spoke to an unbelievable number of contractors. Many would make appointments to evaluate and give an estimate and never show up. Those that did show up would give astronomical quotes. I mean, this is New York, but come on, renovating a bathroom shouldn't eat up 25% of my take-home salary.
We saw an ad on TV for a site called HomeAdvisor, and Star Cities was one of the places they referred us to. We emailed Star Cities and got a very prompt reply. They set up an appointment and kept it. They showed up on time (a few minutes early, actually) and took the time to explain what needed to be done clearly, assuring us that it was not as bad of a job as we thought. We loved Robert, and waited for their quote. The quote came quite quickly -- much more quickly than we expected -- and we were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it was. Robert was the best plumber we'd met, and gave us a good and fair price. Needless to say, we booked him to do the work.
They started the work just when they said they would (a few minutes early, actually). Over the course of a couple of weeks (we did this around Thanksgiving), they completely changed our bathroom. They tore out the tub, the walls around the tub, the toilet, and the floor, and installed a new tub (which was very hard to do I'm sure because we have a very weird and VERY tight space), a new shower body, new floors, painted the walls, installed a new toilet, and everything. They even installed a new shower door. The shower door wasn't part of the work order, but when we found one we liked, be bought it and brought it to the apartment. We asked them to install it and told them we'd pay for the installation; they installed it and didn't charge us. It was not an easy door to install (a weird Kohler barn door thing).
We were actually so impressed with the work they were doing, we decided to ask them to demolish an old closet and build a new one, as well as hang crown moulding around our entire apartment. They gave us a good quote and worked with our budget. The closet and the crown moulding are absolutely gorgeous. We'd thought about using the handyman at the hardware store next door for that work, but he never gave us a quote, despite our constant reminders. Robert, however, gave us a quote quickly, and did an amazing, amazing job. I'm so glad we didn't go with someone else on the closet, because they gave us exactly what we wanted. It looks so much better than we imagined.
After they finished the bathroom, we noticed a problem with the hot water (not enough water pressure). I sent Robert a very panicked text late at night. He promptly replied, showed up the next day, and fixed the issue. Apparently some detritus got in a pipe. I was very pleased with his follow-through. Even though the job was done and he'd been paid, he made sure to promptly address the issue.
When it came time to get the final invoice there were no surprises. The deal was we pay a 75% deposit. The balance of the invoice was the other 25%. No sneaking things in, no saying things got complicated, no nothing. Straight up what we expected: we owed the last 25% that we didn't put down in the deposit. Star Cities is honest, does quality work, and does the work for what they say they will (and on time).
These guys were such a pleasure to work with. I hope I don't have any more plumbing issues that need fixing, but if I do, I know where I'll go. If you need plumbing work done, call them! You'll be thankful you did.

Our Hot water heater is less than two years old and was not producing any hot water. We checked and saw that the pilot light was out but we could not light it. Infinite Comfort Heating diagnosed the problem to be the gas valve. They ordered it for me under the warranty so I did not have to pay for the part, only the labor.
When the part arrived, they scheduled Victor to come and do the installation. Victor is very knowledgeable and personable. He did a great job for us and the price was reasonable.
Also, their office staff is wonderful. It is a pleasure doing business with them. I would recommend Infinite Comfort to others.

My tenant's central air wasn't cooling properly. Searched for companies that would provide free estimates. Airheem quickly responded and after asking a few questions, gave me a reasonable estimate. He came out the same day! He was very knowledgeable and thorough. He also took the time to explain everything. He got the HVAC back up and running quickly. Also provided great customer service, very professional and polite.

Quick response and reasonably priced quote. We needed a leak repaired in our main bathroom as well as replacing a vanity. While he was here, he noticed the toile needed to be fixed and offered to that that for a small additional charge. Very friendly and professional. Arrived on time, got the job done quickly and efficiently. We are hiring him again to do some work to our master bathroom.

Back in May, Rick from Super Plumber accepted the job to replace my old HVAC unit in Hoboken, NJ. While we were negotiating the agreement, Rick emphasized quite often that he is the kind of guy who keeps his promise and I could rely on his word. Although he completed the work quickly, I was not able to rely on his word as he promised for one not-too-small detail: it was part of the agreement that all parts of the old unit would be discarded. I found out several weeks after the new unit was installed that the old condenser was still on the roof. On July 17 Rick promised to discard it within a few days, yet he didn't do it. On Aug 16 I inquired again when he was planning to remove the old condenser. His reply was No excuses my apologies Prompt service and quality work is why I've been so busy and won't allow the situation to continue. The next day I sent Rick another message requesting to know when he would be removing the condenser. I got no reply and the condenser is still on the roof as of today.

Had a scheduled service appointment on November 4, 2020. Although the technician that was on-site was great, can't say the same for the project coordinator. Thought a repair for the water heater was happening in one shot. However, to the surprise of the technician, he didn't even know he was doing a repair. Was told there would be some kind of warranty on the work, and again, this was a surprise to the technician as well. Thought this repair could happen in a few hours and be warrantied for at least 1 month. Nope! The technician basically said that for work he didn't think would last, he would not offer a warranty. His visit ended being a consult which is NOT what I had agreed to as I thought this repair could actually be done and not something that was iffy. So for basically a half hour consult, forked over appx $139. Although the coordinator offered to deduct the amount off the price of a new water heater, which the technician said should have a 6 year warranty, the one the coordinator sent paperwork for only stated 3 years. When this was mentioned, he said the research was done by other members of his team and that new paperwork correcting the warranty would be sent. Nope! This was the 3rd strike. Paperwork was NEVER received, and at this point, didn't see a point to call him again just to be angered more.

I used DMC to install a new 50 Gal water tank based on the good review written here and conversation i had with the technician that gave me the quote. They seem professional and honest, don't fall into the trap! 2 months after the installation i started having problems with hot water. I own a multifamily and the technician never mentioned anything about gallon i should get for the new tank. He told me if the current 50 gal tank is enough for all families that i should stick with 50 gal tank. I was talking to other people who owns multifamily they all said i need at least 75 gallon for 3 family dwellings. So long story short, couple months after the installation tenants complaint about insufficient hot water in the apartment. So I called DMC for someone to come over and check. The technician told me nothing is wrong with the tank so he moved up the temperature hoping the problem will go away but it didn't. I was charged a service fee. Two weeks later i called them again and reported the same problem. I told them that this time i was not going to pay a dime as they never fixed the issue. So they sent someone who i think is less experienced because he told me the same thing that the first person came. He upped the temperature to C this time and left after being there for 5 mins and of course the problem didn't go away. I called them again and this time they never responded. So in conclusion don't use this company as they're unprofessional and inexperienced. They tried to get away with mistakes they caused.

Their prices have really gone up. $456 to snake our drain is a rip off. It wasn't even a week end. They were here for less than 30 minutes. We should have asked for the price before they came. we were shocked! Next time, we will call around. Econo rooter even offers a $60 off coupon!
