Awesome company to deal with! Had them come out and hook my refrigerator, stove, plumbing lines, and fix my toilet. They did all this in a couple hours and did a unbelievable job. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

Everything you could ask for in a great service company. John gave specific detailed feedback, weighed the costs and benefits of what actions to take, showed commitment to customer satisfaction and feasibility in price and functionality, and I got to learn plenty of baseline information about the specific problems that were occurring on my unit so I know why decisions are made.

If you want to get a plumber, DONT call Hovde. I called four times, three times I talked to a nice woman and she said someone would call back...NOT. She said send photos via email and someone would get back to me...NOT. Why lead someone on? Why pretend you are going to do something and then you leave them high and dry? Guess they have enough business and don't want any more. FORGET THEM!

The service guy was great! But unethical billing made me send them away. My air conditioner was low on coolant. The service tech estimated 1-2 lbs low (r22 refrigerant) they would only re-charge by billing for 3 lbs at the cost of $685! When you recharge AC units the technician will weigh the cylinder before and and after filling and can tell how much the systems use. Ethical companies charge by the pound not a flat rate to rip off customers! I asked the service tech to call his boss and ask him if they will charge by the pound and his boss said no way.
So I called another company and asked what their rate was and they said $150 a pound and they charge the exact amount it used so if it's only 1.1 lbs you pay $165 total. Bottom line is this company is out there to rip you off if you're not a mechanically inclined.

This is not a good company! We received a free quote from them for an AC unit replacement this past week. The specialist inspected our furnace and took home measurements to produce a quote. The next day, we noticed that our furnace was no longer working. The blower was on but no heat was being produced.
After trying to troubleshoot, we called BWS and asked them to come out and fix whatever they broke. They told us they would send someone out but if it was diagnosed as not their fault, the service charge would be $135 (to potentially not even fix the issue!). So we called the company that installed our furnace and they fixed the issue for the same cost.
It turns out that the BWS specialist flipped a switch inside the furnace that turned it off, while he was taking notes on the specs. There's no other way it could have gotten turned off as it is literally INSIDE the furnace (we obviously never root around in our furnace for fun!). Nice money-making setup, guys! They were extremely defensive and not at all apologetic when we called. Obviously the furnace had been working just fine up until the specialist removed the front panels to inspect it--it wasn't just a coincidence and they should have acknowledged that. Switches don't just flip themselves off.
The funny part is that when I was emailed the AC unit replacement quote from the specialist on Friday, he signed it, Thanks for the opportunity to earn your business. More like trick us into giving you money. Obviously we won't be going to BWS for any of our future heating or cooling needs. What an irresponsible and unprofessional company.

Had them out to look at a forced air furnace and they red tagged it telling us the carbon monoxide reading was high and that the heat exchanger was bad. They never showed us a readout. They never opened the back of the furnace and verified that the heat exchanger was bad. They told us the furnace was from 1986 so we believed them and signed on for a new install. They quoted us $4,100 for a new furnace and said they could install quickly. We found our manuals and verified the age of the furnace. We cancelled and got another company to look at the furnace. The heat exchanger is not bad. The furnace is a 2003 model making it a little 15 years old and still viable. The readout from the new company for CO was below 30. What was wrong was a bad gas valve which was replaced and now the furnace is fully operational.

What jerk. Did not listen to my initial explanation on the phone. Then tried to blame me. He may have been able to do the work cheaper, but I would not trust his quote or work because I don't think he listened to the explanation of the work required.

The service tech that came to our home was kind, but the quote we received was outrageous. We needed a new water heater and we were quoted $7000 for a tankless water heater and $3500 for your typical water heater. We were told that the normal water heaters are becoming obsolete and that the tankless are a choice to save money in the long run with less maintenance and last longer. When we sought out other opinions we heard from every single place we called that tankless in our area was not recommended due to the hard water and scaling that takes place and more maintenance costs involved. Not to mention that every single quote was at least $1000 cheaper. We ended up paying under $2000 with another company that was fantastic. Do not recommend- educate yourself thoroughly before going with this company.

No idea of the quality of this service as they never showed up for my scheduled tune up appointment. I waited over 2 weeks for an appointment and when the person didn't show up I called them. First I was told I had the wrong date. I did not have the wrong date. They called me back and said they had to reschedule my appointment but had FORGOTTEN TO CALL ME. We had cleaned out the furnace room and were awaiting the results of the inspection to determine if we could do another home improvement or if we'd need a new furnace in the near future. They REALLY caused problems for us by doing this! I wouldn't waste my time with this company as they are obviously unreliable and have little concern for anyone's schedule other than their own. There are better providers out there who will put their customers first.

Unquestionably a great experience and outstanding service. I totally recommend McQuillan. Came through for me when I needed a new hot water heater pronto - long weekend, guests on town.

Let me save you some time. If you own a rental property, don't call this outfit for service as they discriminate against rentals and their owners. I own a rental unit and the outside AC unit was beat to death with hail. Insurance was going to repair or replace it so I called for an estimate. They told me they don't service rental units. Whatever.... Someone else will take my money.

Scheduling was a challenge. I was told the installer would be arriving at a certain time and they never showed up.
The appliance required a bracket that was screwed into my hardwood flooring. I understand the bracket is a requirement, but when the appliance was slid back in to the bracket it was installed off center (and not by a small amount, it was several inches). The installer did not take the time to center the appliance on the wall and now more holes will have to be drilled into my flooring. Simply taking the time to take a quick measurement (under 1 minute) and this could have been avoided.
While leaving with the box the appliance came in one of the installers broke a light in my garden lining the pathway. He then attempted to stick it back in to the ground as if it was fine. I told the guy it's broken and asked him to just leave it be.
The installers wheeled this same box up the path when they first brought the appliance to the house, they knocked over a cage that I had protecting a plant (but nothing was damaged). They didn't hit any of the lights on the way in, there is no reason why one of my lights needed to get damaged on the way out. It was a careless mistake.
Customer service for MN plumbing took no accountability for their mistakes. The woman could care less offering no apology and simply said talk to Best Buy.
There were also hidden charges associates with the job. The installer screwed a valve on to the pipe before connecting the appliance. I estimate the valve cost less than $5 at Home Depot. It took him under a minute and they charged $130.
This company does poor quality work, they have poor customer service skills, and they over charge. Do yourself a favor and NEVER let MN Plumbing into your home to do work. There are other companies in the twin cities that are far better options. I hope this review saves others from having the negative experience that I have had.

I called because I had my house for sale, accepted an offer, had the inspection and inspector said I had low water pressure. B & B came to my house and told me It was the screens and shower head, so it was not a big job. Brian (the owner) said he ordered parts and would fix it. Closing came quick and he quit responding. I ended up having to take $6200 less because it was too small of a job and he strung me along until it was TOO LATE! TERRIBLE BUISNESS AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW!!!
