WOW, 'Got 'taken'!!
I had Home Works come out last fall for their 3:1 Special. They would come out and inspect the furnace, water heater/softener, and A/C for $39.99!! Plumber guy who came out noted thousands of dollars that were needed for my home plumbing. Pfft.. whatever.. (Should have been my first clue.) Home Works called back about a month ago and said that, as a part of my 3:1 deal, I got a free water heater flush. Sure, sign me up!
Guy, different guy, came out and said that he couldn't flush water heater because it was starting to leak. I needed to replace it. He showed me a ring of dampness around the water heater at the bottom on the mechanical room floor. OMG! I hadn't looked. He added that you never know when the bottom will rust out and your basement will get flooded.. YIKES! OK, shoot me a quote! He really pushed the tankless water heater replacement and said that 90%+ of water heaters they replace are tankless. He ballparked a price close to $7K! OK, no thanks. I got the quote in e-mail for the replacing of my electric water heater. $2,500+.
OK, being the savvy shopper I came to Next Door and asked people. Joe at Boevaag Plumbing, in Prior Lake, came back with a $900 installed price. I sent him a picture of the mechanical room knowing that it wasn't going to be easy. He added $250 to move the softener, water meter, furnace PVC, etc.  OK, deal!!
Before the plumber got there I shut-off the power, shut off water to the water heater, and opened the drain at the bottom to let the water out. At first water went directly into drain, but as level went down the flow became a trickle and the water went everywhere in the mechanical room. I am sure this gave the plumber the impression that the water heater was indeed leaking.
Reuben with Boevaag Plumbing came out to do replacement. What a great guy. So nice. Big smile. He worked hard and replaced the water heater.
When pulling the old one out he flipped it over... and showed me... that it DID NOT need replacing... He showed me that the rust on the bottom was from water on the outside either from water softener or water heater's relief valve. He said that if a water heater is going-out there will be rust visible above the bottom pan. The water was ten years old and eventually would have needed replacement, but probably not for a couple of years... !@#$%!

This has to be the biggest scam company of any home service I have ever seen.

They wanted $3200 for a job most guys charge $600 for.

I paid the $50 fee for the quote and looked elsewhere for the work.

They wanted $500 to take my toilet off and put it back on to do the work.  This takes a normal person maybe 15 min of easy work.

The person who gave me the quote acted like I should just accept the insane quote and tried to get me to commit and pushed in house credit. I said no and was followed up on by a text and phone call right after he left.

Today the guys boss emailed me with the quote attached. At the bottom of the quote was a button that looked like the button to see the next page. It was an auto signer that would have obligated me to use them and accept the price.

Run the other way if you see them coming. Tell everyone you know that they are scammers.

Josh did a fantastic job, he installed a new kitchen faucet and shower head, the service and materials were fairly priced. Josh was so pleasant and efficient. He's going to be my go-to guy for any upcoming plumbing needs! Thanks for a job well done!

I was very happy with Jeremy and the work that he performed, however I don't like the fact that their invoice includes services and fees that were not performed.  They have an itemized list of services and 1 price, rather than breaking down the services and billing you for the work ACTUALLY completed.  When I called to discuss this with someone I got Rich and as I was telling him that I didn't appreciate being charged for services that were not performed, his response was well then I guess we have nothing else to talk about.  RUDE AF  They are without a doubt the worst price gougers and have shady business practices - I would never call them again.

We recently moved into a new home with a 17 year old furnace that appeared to not have been serviced in a few years. It worked but also often felt cold in the house.

HomeWorks arrived and gave my hearing and AC the once over. The furnace needed some repairs. The tech explained the AC was in great shape. Our furnace was operating but not efficiently and the explanation lined up with why we were not getting good amounts of steady heat (which we did not tell them in advance.)

We felt no pressure. The cost seemed reasonable to us. Sure we could have price checked but it's 17 years old. Why fix pieces on an old system that could still break down and also didn't offer all the things we wanted in a furnace, especially living in MN.

They presented options and we felt no pressure. We made the decision to get a new furnace. They presented three options all which were very reasonable and in line with anything you'd expect a decent furnace to cost and we chose upgrades we wanted that they mentioned weee additional and not necessary if we wanted to keep the price down. I didn't feel oversold.

Make your decision. Trust your gut. Maybe this company isn't for you but they worked well for us. It's easy to write a bad review but there are also plenty of good experiences and ours was one of them. We will happily use them again.

I made an appointment for an install of a new under mount sink in the bathroom. The first appointment was delayed by several hours and the company finally cancelled it. I made a second appointment and it was delayed by an hour after the time window, but the plumber did show up. He was polite, masked, and put booties on. I explained we needed the sink replaced and when he saw it, he said, Oh, it's an under mount. I asked him to give me a quote before he started the work, and once he finished punching in all his numbers, he said, that'll be $999.00...with a straight face! I even had the replacement sink! I could buy a new vanity with granite top for about the same as his quote. Either he didn't want to do the job, or HomeWorks prices are meant to take advantage of unsuspecting homeowners. I paid nothing because I had negotiated waiving the service fee because the first appointment was cancelled. I also had an AC tune up scheduled ($31 special) for a few days later and realized I might end up with a $300 tune up, so I cancelled. HomeWorks does, however, have really good software and you'll get lots of email and text reminders.

$599 to install a kitchen faucet (that I previously purchased)?  $1199 to replace a sump pump??  $2499 to change out the back up pump???  Those prices are double the honest rate.  When I complained, the plumber called his office and the nice lady there removed the overhead from my job right on the phone.  Too bad the new prices she quoted were still about 50% higher than what I eventually paid a local plumber, who did a great job (JS Plumbing  PH: 612-490-2160).  Hey HomeWorks, I don't mind paying $50 for a repair estimate.  That has somehow become common practice...  But I do mind paying $50 to have my time wasted.

Worst service I've ever experienced!!!!!
Had a disposal not working.  They came out and looked at how it was wired and told me I needed a new disposal  it would cost around $800.  Didn't touch the disposal,  didnt turn it on, just immediately told me I needed a new disposal.  WRONG!!!!!!  I had a friend come over, he had it fixed in 10 minutes.  No new disposal needed.
THESE GUYS ARE A SCAM!!!!!!!!!

We requested a $100 water heater flush.  They told my wife they could replace it for $2000.  We agreed, and they installed a full tankless-heater/softener unit for $8000 (and applied it to a 30% interest rate credit card they signed us up for).  They have refused to provide an invoice despite multiple requests.  They have refused to remove their grossly overpriced unit and restore our previous perfectly-functioning units.

This company is a complete scam, using predatory and deceptive sales tactics.  DO NOT ALLOW THESE PEOPLE INTO YOUR HOME UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.  We will now be pursuing legal action for remedy as the company has been unresponsive to our inquiries.

Great service but extremely expensive. $1000 to install a toilet, quote for replacing AC and heater was 40% higher than what we paid eventually with service that was outstanding. Replacing a kitchen faucet and 4 shut off valves under the sink -$1,000. We had a leak so we paid but this is the last time I'm calling them. Make sure you shop around and don't call them in an emergency.  There are a lot of other better and more reasonable service providers out there.

So, Homeworks replaced valve inside house that controls outdoor water (faucet for hose) in 2/2021.  The valve was actually moved so to be more accessible.  I live in a townhouse - no real reason to use outdoor faucet except to hose down front stoop and central air unit which Idid last summer  Indoor faucet was turned on, hose used and indoor faucet turned off because I did not trust outdoor faucet not to drip.  Valve was on/off ONCE.  This summer sod is planted, unit owners charged with keeping sod watered.  Indoor valve is turned on and left on because hose is used several days in a row.  Indoor valve leaks, water is spitted/sprayed into corner of utility room, floor is wet, wall is wet, water softener unit is wet.  I call Homeworks - technician comes out - advises valve is worn through - $450 dollars to fix (with 15% discount).  The valve that was removed was there over 20 years.  I think this is nuts.  They know they installed a faulty valve.  I did not pay the $450 to have same type valve put in.  I am out $89 for the service call.   Take your chances.  I do not recommend Homeworks.  I was on their home plan for over a year, paying monthly service fee and stopped it when it seemed bigger part of plan was getting techs in home to up sale products.

Make sure to do your homework before you just agree to this companies quoted price. I had multiple companies quote my water heater replacement and then had HomeWorks come look, He quoted me $2700. After explaining to him the was $1300 more than everywhere else and the others were offering 12y warranty unit over HW's 6 y warranty unit he offered to price match. So 5 minutes ago you were going to overcharge me $1300? What an incredibly shady business practice. Im not sure if he thought since I was a girl I would agree to this but I am not stupid and definately not giving my money to a company that thinks thats acceptable.

I received a coupon for a water heater maintenance from Minnesota Plumbing & Heating.  We have a five year old water heater, which was working 100% fine, but I kept hearing from multiple places that this maintenance was necessary.  I called to book appointment, which I make for a time my wife is home, but I am not.  A plumber from HomeWorks Plumbing calls and says he's on his way 5 hours earlier than what the person I booked with on the phone indicated they would arrive (I was given a 3pm - 5pm window, plumber contacted us to say he was on his way before 10am).  Upon arrival he proceeds to hard upsell my wife (such as a soft water system for the poisonous water in St. Paul).  She declines, and then he suddenly finds a $350 repair needed for our water heater.  This is a complete and total racket, and I am furious.  I am posting this review on both companies pages, and will never in my life do business with either again.

The service tech that came to our home was kind, but the quote we received was outrageous.  We needed a new water heater and we were quoted $7000 for a tankless  water heater and $3500 for your typical water heater.  We were told that the normal water heaters are becoming obsolete and that the tankless are a choice to save money in the long run with less maintenance and last longer.  When we sought out other opinions  we heard from every single place we called that tankless in our area was not recommended due to the hard water and scaling that takes place and more maintenance costs involved.  Not to mention that every single quote was at least $1000 cheaper.  We ended up paying under $2000 with another company that was fantastic. Do not recommend- educate yourself thoroughly before going with this company.

If possible, I will give them a zero. Feel taken advantage .Signed  up for their their service plan. When the technician arrived, he was vulgar informed me that he had five years of school, and that's why their price was so elevated. He proceeded to call management to report to them that I was arguing with him because I asked him why is his price twice as much as other guys.

Home Advisor recommended HomeWorks for replacing a kitchen sink, faucet and disposal with customer supplied equipment
Plumber showed up on time, When I got the estimate, I explained that amount around $3000 was not in my budget and would pay the trip charge.  The plumber decided to call his manager and I was given the guilt trip of spent the gas to come out and time yada yada.  So the 'manager'  quotes a $1700 for the work, if I agreed to give them the hvac work.
I said ok and expected a completed job, instead, one hour after the plumber left, water was streaming from where the sink connected to the drain pipe and at the cold water connection.
I was able to determine where the leaks were and tightened the connection for the sink drain, but could not reach the connection for the cold water pipe.
After I went downstairs, noticed that the first plumber had plastered the companies name all over all of my equipment without my permission.
A different person showed up  a week later to fix the leak that the first plumber left and charged me an additional $229 for work that should have been finished on the first trip.
I advised since the agreement was not completed as promised, I had trust issues with this company and they will not be doing anything with my furnace and would not be getting my hvac business.
I would not recommend this company because of the guilt trip type of bullying it does to get people to allow them to charge excessive prices and not complete quality work

After being a HomeWorks customer for multiple years, our latest experience left us feeling very negatively about the company.

During our seasonal boiler tune up, our technician flagged a variety of issues that needed to be addressed, specifically, that our chlorine level was elevated and that our boiler was leaking carbon monoxide, which led us to believe that the work needed to be done immediately (which it was, prior to them pulling a permit).

After having the work done, we connected with several other plumbers/companies to get a second opinion as the cost was high for the work performed. Multiple sources indicated that the cost for the work was exorbitant and that they were skeptical with that work itself was as critical as the technician led us to believe.

We contacted HomeWorks to raise our concerns and were continually handed off to different people, each saying they needed to connect us with their manger or other team member. We did not receive calls with the information we were looking for until we threatened to dispute the claims. At that point we were told that the company has taken people to small claims court before for doing so, and the manager would contact us by end of day to discuss the situation. We did not receive a call from him at any point, and when we called to follow up we were told he had left for the day.

In the end, we did not dispute the claims and paid for the service, but overall feel the experience was predatory. The tactics used to get us to agree to the service immediately felt dishonest, the pricing unreasonable in comparison to competitors, and follow up experience to be extremely lacking.

The work may very well have needed to be done in such an urgent manner and the company may have had good reasoning for the pricing, however the way they handled the situation made us feel that they lack honesty and integrity.

I called them fir water softener issue but the moment their technician arrived he said I need to change the system i self & also I was told the water heater is also need to replaced. I was not smart enough I hire them paid $3,743 very expensive . Then I called them for furnace tune up again the technician told me it's leaking CO. He tuned off the gas and told me I must turn at my own risk. he terrorized me. Then I called another company they found ZERO issue.

i will never ever let them come back to my house. They are not honest non professional

Home Works offered a complimentary boiler tuneup, which they used as tactic to upsell major repairs ($10k) or replacement ($15k) of our  boiler. The tech red tagged our  system and said it was leaking carbon monoxide. Because of the sales pressure I got uncomfortable and got a second opinion from our neighborhood heating and cooling company. Their tech has 20 years experience and said Home Works was full of BS. There was no carbon monoxide leak, but did need repairs of $2500. Obviously we went with the second opinion.

Stay away from Home Works when it comes to and hvac work.

Called them to replace a valve and rod in the water heater. The tech, which, i do not believe was a plumber,  was in my house chatting and testing the water hardness for over two hours !  He came up with a $12k quote for an entire water treatment program. He was not prepared to do the work I requested.  So I walked him to the door and he pulled out the quote I had asked for when I booked the appointment.   He quoted over $700 for $30 of parts available at home depot and half an hour of labor.  He said I had to make another appointment for another tech to come back. So when I refused,  he said it was $50 for the water test. And I complained that I didn't ask or authorize it. And he said someone should have told me when i made the appointment.   He came 15 minutes earlier than scheduled and stayed his entire 2 hour window.  Very shady pricing and quoting process.  I wonder how many hours and appointments you need if you have a water leak?  Please be advised to ask for all charges and fees before anyone steps in your house.

if i could give it  -1 stars that would be too good.

total scam:
#1 called to service my furnace, nothing was wrong just thought i should.  quote for $999 dollars because you need a new gas valve gas was leaking, and it is very important to do it now! showed me a video of a fake test of how he discovered leak. he loosened something.... seriously. after high pressure sales pitch with immediate payment before services that would start the next day.  called someone whom i trusted the next day... guess what .. no gas leak! furnace was in perfect condition.------------------------------------------------------#2  while waiting for a part to be delivered??? person asked if it was okay to check my a/c unit outside... said sure.  here is what he said needed to be done.  chemical to clean outdoor unit $219  recharge a/c system with refridgerant $1197  disconnect and run test $399  instal refridgerant caps $97        high pressure to have me pay right now! and have it fixed pronto.   well, this was a new a/c unit.... jokes on them -  they tried to make me believe it needed $1912 to repair!!!!!  it was new!!!!!     how do they sleep at night  disgusting sham                     thank god i have some common sense.  or i would have been out $2,900 dollars.

Had Home Works to our home in May due to malfunctioning cooling, asking for evaluation of the dysfunction, cleaning and maintenance of the A/C. The tech did not show up for the allotted arrival window and mentioned to us that he is working overtime so he asked if he could focus on the A/C and not the furnace during the evaluation. We agreed that the a/c was currently the issue and to spend his time evaluating the A/C unit. He then stated the Freon was very low (1, and should be 8) and indicated a possibility of a leak. he noted they typically place sealant, recharge the system and place UV dye to evaluate for a possible leak. We asked if this would ultimately fix the problem, and he relayed sometimes this fixes the problem, however if there's a leak the A.C would stop working in the next 1-2 weeks. We wanted the issue resolved as we had tenants moving in within 2 months. He stated this service would be required to even evaluate for where a leak would be even if it doesn't fix the problem: at a cost of $1400. He also quoted $3000 more services that were due on the A/C and furnace. The outside coils were also chemically cleaned for 280$, which is typically only needed once a season.

The A/C then worked great for 2 months, until our tenants moved in and then it stopped cooling again. Home Works was called out again for evaluation due to knowing the system previously. The freon was again at a level of 1. They then charged $370 just to evaluate for the leak. They stated there was then a large leak at the A coil and noted the coil would have to be replaced. This tech who came to the house also was noted to ask my female tenant if she was single or had a boyfriend, which is extremely inappropriate in this atmosphere.

At this point we are out $1770 with no resolution to the problem. We had another highly rated, Angi certified, bonded and insured HVAC company evaluate for the leak and A/C unit for only $109 and due to inappropriate practices done by Home Works (most likely), Lennox would not be able to fulfill warranty on coil. At this point outside HVAC experts have said due to accumulated damages and costs by Home Work we need to buy a completely new unit.

Not only did they never resolve the issue after $1770, they required we follow their process of sealing, recharging and not fixing or looking for the leak when all other sources state a low Freon after a previously working unit indicates THERE IS A LEAK, and should evaluate for the leak first. On top of that their costs were double if not 3x the costs quoted by all 7 other companies I later talked with about the system. They take advantage of customers (who have no previous HVAC knowledge) and completely overcharge and adjust their practices to get the most money out of you as possible.

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY.

I contacted HomeWorks and two other plumbing companies for an estimate for several plumbing projects. I had no experience with the company and didn't know anyone who did. The estimator made a big deal about putting on his shoe protectors when I said he didn't have to. He said, Oh, we HAVE to wear them. Everything was focused on how much they cared about their customers and took care of the customers' homes as if they were their own. Then he proceeded to quote me $12,000 for my projects. Other well-rated, reputable plumbing companies' estimates were less than 10% of that (less than $1200). Really? Just how dumb do you think I am? Today, I was flushing my water heater and noticed that he'd slapped a sticker on my water heater that says, DO NOT REMOVE and has their number on it to call for maintenance. We never even hired these people. They want 10 times the amount I should have paid. I guess they have to charge more for their expensive marketing campaigns and vehicle wraps. Sorry, your marketing budget is not my problem. Beware if you're female and/or have what appears to be an expensive house. Also, I can't believe the difference between their Yelp rating and their Google Reviews. Something seriously hokey going on with the Google reviews. Shysters.

I had a service contract with Home Works and was scheduled for a water heater inspection. I was told I needed a new anedode (?) which I could see was worn. He quoted me a price of $430 to replace it. Fortunately, a friend was here when the guy was doing the inspection. He told me not to do anything yet. My friend then looked up the part that was needed and the price range was $20 to $40!!! I was shocked and dismayed that this type of business practice is being utilized. I'd say - Stay Away from Home works!!! I've learned not to trust anyone.

Their Tune up will end up costing you a fortune. We had a water heater tune up done that we purchased at a silent auction..  It was running hot but still working.  They said the water heater and water softener had  issues which I believe is correct.  However, they then proceeded to pressure to fix it immediately and to gouge us on price.  My wife was given options to fix the water heater only for $2.5K up to huge upgrades which would cost up to $12k.  Basically pay us huge amounts if you want hot water that night. They misrepresented multiple aspects of why it would be so expensive including saying it wasn't something you could buy at a big box store when we know they purchased it at Home Depot.  My wife ended up agreeing to get a new water heater and water softener (nothing fancy) for a whopping cost of $4,800 so we had working hot water that day.  We checked it out and got a quote after the fact for just over half of what we paid for the water heater. Definitely taken advantage of.  I would recommend against having them do any tune ups and get a competing quote before you have them do any type of work.

I fell victim to the coupon in the mail that gives you a seemingly great deal, only to steal your money. This was for a $44 inspection of my furnace, softener, and water heater. To be brief, when all was said and done, I'm out a lot more money than it should have cost, all because I fell for their high pressure sales model. I'm sure they good work, but I really wish I looked elsewhere.

If you get a coupon, consider putting it straight in the trash.

DO.NOT USE THIS GROUP!  They scam you and most techs have no idea what they're doing.  we had them out for general maintenance and talked me into believing there was something wrong with my AC. Cost me $1800. That night my AC wasn't working and this was going into 4th of July weekend.  Tech came out and was so weird (took a nap sitting up while he examined my furnace) I called my husband who came rushing home. They quoted me $800 to fix it and charged my cc before even doing the work.  I canceled the work immediateoh. called another group who came out 5th of July.  He worked for another company that was called in regularly to fix Homeworks jenky work.

The rep that came to the house was friendly at first, until it came time to make a decision on weather or not I was going to use their service. He was extremely impatient and pressured me to make a quick decision. He quoted $3500 for a new water heater + installation.
The rep took advantage of the fact that I am a younger woman and don't know everything about water heaters. He recommended a water heater that is way too big for the house and tried to get me to replace a perfectly fine water softener. He only offered one option for a replacement and didn't mention other sizes or models that would be more efficient for the house.
Once the project was started the lead guy left without saying anything and left two people, that he had told me were in training, behind to finish the install.
My basement floor is painted with cement paint and after the installation was complete the guys left the floor all scratched and scuffed up. There were muddy prints on the floor, doors and woodwork. The final invoice made it seem like they are trying to hide something. It listed the water heater + install but only gave a final total. It didn't list how much of the total was allocated for labor and how much was allocated for the price of the water heater.
My husband called the manager after all was said and done to ask some questions and get clarification on some things. The manager was very apologetic about the carelessness of the employees and removed a small portion from the final bill. He also said that there is absolutely no reason that the house we live in should need such a large water heater and apologized that the rep made that recommendation.
Even with the apology and the small reparation I was left with a bitter feeling about this company and would not use them again.

I had the company do an inspection on a furnace at a home I recently purchased.

The technician I worked with was very pleasant and helpful. At the end of the visit he recommended $950 repair on the furnace, plus a $1900 clean up on the boiler.

The boiler had already been inspected by another company, Burnomatic, which came highly recommended. I checked with them, they insinuated I was being scammed. I also checked with two other repair companies on the furnace. The same repair was estimated at $400-500 by one company and $250-300 by another.

Seems like this company is using polite techs to build reporte with homeowners, and attempting to gouge them. Def one I plan to avoid

WARNING - Homeworks is not trust worthy.  I had them out Nov 22, 2021 to identify a leak in my furnace.  Homeworks  told me the collector box and feed tubing was heavily clogged beyond repair.  Homeworks said it will be $499 for the new parts and I provided a credit card.  A few minutes later I was told they are unable to get the part.  He said all suppliers are out of it and unable to order it.  Then said my only option was to buy a new furnace and had their sales person come out.  Next thing you know I'm spending $14,000 on a new furnace.  After the Homeworks tech (Rath) and sales person left I had a bad feeling, none of this made sense.  I called another company and they found the collector box part immediately but only 1 in stock and sent me a picture to confirm it was the same part, and it wasn't.  Turns out the Rath the Homeworks tech was calling the drain trap a collector box.  Not only did he misinform the name of the part that is needed he lied that it could not be found.  The other company I used cleaned the feeding tubes and the drain trap.  No replacement of parts needed.  Leak was actually caused by something else entirely.  Homeworks lied about the name of the parts I suspect because they knew it was harder to find but if I looked for it on my own.  Then they tried to cheat me out of $14,000.  I spoke with Scott who says he is the manager and he apologized and would speak with his tech and sales person and would refund my $499 I provided for the unneeded and incorrect part.  I email Scott (he requested) the write up/invoice provided by the other company exactly what was the issue was.  I never heard from Scott after this and its now been 2 weeks and they have not refunded me the $499.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.  As a side note, the other company I did end up using fixed the issue for $150.

Great company,
They are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. They do a great job explaining what is wrong and giving you options on how to fix it. If you need a company to do things right  and know you are in good hand I would recommend this company

We had a copper pipe from our outside faucet break in our basement.  Called HomeWork Plumbing. The plumber mumbled something about a Grand to replace the small pipe and install new outdoor faucet and do the work. I assumed that it would take hours to fix so even though it was a high amount, he went ahead and did the work. In less than 20 minutes, he was done. I was shocked that he was done and questioned that it did not take long. He also suggested before he left that we needed to replace our water heater. Which is not true. When I received my invoice (by email) it was not broken down by parts and labor, just 1 total $$ amount.  when my husband got home, he called the company to complain, and we have not heard back from them after 5 days.  We will never use the company again.

Leaky valve flooded townhome. Got HomeWorks though a referral service that promised the best in town. I thought as long as plumber is here, I would have him replace 3 other valves as a precaution. He quoted me $499 for EACH valve.  I would have kicked him out, but was desperate to get  leaky valve fixed immediately. It took him 15 minutes and he was on his way. I asked him to email me an estimate for the 3 other valves intending to post to yelp, but didn't get one. All the one star ratings are deserved. Maybe even over rated.

Over a year ago, we had new furnace installed.  Installation was troublesome and required over 6 visits to finish the work.  Several visits after initial installation were required to get the furnace to heat the house to the setpoint.  They left a sag in the exhaust pipe resulting in condensation collecting in the pipe and eventually flowing back to the furnace.  A couple visits later this was fixed by an awkward drain hanging down from the overhead to drain it back to the sink.  Someone else did come after this, removed the drain, and corrected this by supporting the exhaust to maintain the required continuous downward slope. Furnace has operated successfully for the remainder of that season, all last year, and the start of this season.

Friday, they arrived for the scheduled complimentary heating system review.  Heating system was working well before this service and they showed my wife some maintenance options, recommended duct cleaning, provided quote and left. By the following morning, temp is down to 62F, and although thermostat is set to 68 and calling for heat, furnace only runs a minute then cools down.  62 is max temperature furnace reaches.

We called to get service.  We are told next available time is tomorrow, and that they would drop off space heaters until service can be arranged.   I expect same-day service given that since the malfunction coincided with their visit and likely was due to something they did, I requested to speak with manager to expedite service call. Scheduling person said they would put in request to manager, but did not seem to expect a response.

At end of day furnace still can't get above 62,  no call from manager, and no temporary heaters delivered. Horrible customer service and horrible skills.  I expect them to fix their own mistakes promptly, and not to break our system to begin with.

Beware of this company's specials for furnace tuneups. I signed up for the $37 rate, and after the tuneup was advised that my older furnace needed a part. The rate for that fix was $299, and they would wave the $37 tuneup fee. I assumed it must be an essential and substantial part to cost another $263, that would take a bit of time to put in. After I agreed, the serviceman popped it in in about five minutes. I looked up the part; it sold online for, at the most, $20. Foolish me, I usually don't fall for this sort of bait. Since the fix didn't take up all the time I was paying for, the serviceman spent the last 20 minutes talking about his kids.

Homeworks, formerly Adams Healthy Home, may do good work, or not, I don't know, but they are preying on unsuspecting homeowners by claiming that components are failing that are perfectly good. I know this because I'm an HVAC professional and I actually know how this stuff works.

They claimed that the fan motor on my AC outdoor condensing unit needed replacement because the motor amp draw was less than the motor nameplate full load amps. This is just WRONG. Manufacturers select motors that do not exceed the motor nameplate, and often are a little below. Motors are like clothes that come in small, medium, large, extra-large etc. You can't  buy a 6 hp motor. 5, 7-1/2, 10, 15, etc. So if the fan needs 12 horsepower, it gets a 15 hp motor and draws less amps as a result.

There's more, but this one incident is enough.

They are constantly up-selling, but the worst is just plain trying to rip you off.

STAY AWAY!

AH-MAZING service. I love my new tankless water heater! Having never even heard of a tankless water heater I had a ton of questions and the technician was incredibly knowledgeable and respectful, and I found their quote to be far less than anyone else I called (and believe me I did my research). The endless hot water is amazing, the new water heater is SO efficient and environmentally friendly, not to mention how much space I acquired in my basement after getting rid of my archaic hot water heater.  If you are looking for excellent, local, knowledgeable and affordable service call them today!

We recently had two jobs done in our house.  The first was our furnace and central air cleaning and inspection.  They did a good job and I have no complaints.  However, the technician tried to up-sell me on getting a new water heater that he said looked old.  In reality, it was replaced last October by a plumber who charged us $3000 less than what we were quoted by HomeWorks.  How he confused a new water heater with one he said looked old is beyond comprehension.

Most recently, we had an existing dishwasher and garbage disposal hooked up after a new sink and countertop were installed.  This also included installing a new faucet and reverse osmosis faucet which was already provided.  The only new parts that were provided by HomeWorks were drain pipes and a gasket.  Everything else was furnished by us.

We had a certified plumber start the job, who was later replaced by two less experienced plumbers because he had to leave for a more important job.  The total cost was $1300+ after all was said and done.  The work was completed in four hours and to our satisfaction.  However, we should have done our home work as we later found out that a certified plumber did the exact same type of job for our neighbor and charged him $250.

I am not saying that they don't do quality work.  What I am saying is that they overcharge and/or try to upsell you by trying to find things that need to be done that are not necessarily true.  Final word:  Get multiple quotes and do your homework.

Person is here right now - do not even care how the work is - he looks at the issue states what may be the cause and actually knows it is the O-ring/wax ring that is leaking. He then proceeds to give me $1000+ options for the fix. Which is really the company forcing them to try and sell you a toilet. DISGUSTING. I called for one reason - to stop my leaky toilet. Now I will worry that since I did not do the big ticket item that I may not get as good a job as I need.
You have a trip charge - so people do not even have the option to really choose who they would feel comfortable with doing the job. I do not have $100's of dollars to spend on 'trip fees' - to pick a company I feel confident in
- so hopefully that does not come back to screw me.
This cost me $500 and he was here less than 60 minutes in total.
Normally I go with a small business person - some one that does not try to rip you off and would definitely not have costed as much.

We called Home Works to see if they could come disconnect the kitchen faucet and garbage disposal in our kitchen before we had countertops replaced, as well as the return job to install new faucet and disposal. We were charged $116 for the initial disconnect which we gladly paid, and were told it would be anywhere from $1,700-$2,900 for the new faucet and disposal installation (which we had provided). I let our plumber know that we would be getting further quotes, as that was not what we had budgeted for. After receiving 3 quotes under $1,000, we went with Jake the Plumber who quoted us $581 for the kitchen faucet and disposal hook up. When I called to let Home Works know I had found someone else to do the job, they told me someone would need to come to my home to get a signature stating that we wouldn't be going with them. I found it odd and asked if I could do it via email or over the phone and they said no, that's not how they do things and a signature was required. After multiple issues with scheduling, our original plumber came by the house a couple days later and he told me did NOT need a signature, just a verbal confirmation that we didn't want to hire by them. So another day I rearranged my schedule for them, when I could have just done this over the phone. Such an odd company policy that in my several years of home renovations and discussions with many others, should not be a requirement if I'm not hiring you. Jake the Plumber came out to take care of the install and they were surprised to find that Home Works had cut the hose from the dishwasher to the drain, instead of just detaching it, something they needed to replace for us now on a dishwasher that was installed less than 2 weeks ago. It makes me wonder if that's why they charge so much. I will say, our plumber from Home Works was very nice, he wasn't pushy or anything like that. I just don't trust a company who cuts a line unnecessarily, and then quotes 2-3x higher than all others we spoke to.

Super disappointed in the experience I had with Home works. Initially I had setup an appt for a Fri am cleaning and the day before the appt, I got a call that they had to change the appt because some Technician had called in. So I set another appt for the following mon for 8-10 am because things happen and I was willing to work with it. Then on Mon morning half way into the 2 hr time slot, they left a VM that they couldn't make it and wanted to schedule it for later in the week. LIke seriously! I already accommodated my schedule for the 1st re-schedule and now halfway into my 2nd appointment time slot they BAILED because they had other customers with AC issues. Guess my cleaning appointment wasn't as important and I kept getting bumped down the list. Regardless, I called them back to told them that if this is how they run their business then I would go elsewhere. THANKS for wasting my time and I will never use this company!

They are scammers. The technician spent less than a minute looking at my leaking water heater and 30 minutes sharing anecdotes while supposedly preparing an estimate for replacement. The estimate to replace my 50-gallon water heater was $3,000 for a standard tank version or $10,000 for tankless. When I said I'd need time to look over the offer, he called his manager on his phone, who immediately took $300 off the estimate. This is a big red flag since it merely confirms their estimate is inflated to begin with.

I called half a dozen other plumbers and got estimates for the $3,000 option from $1,600-2,400 and for the $10,000 option for around half that. The only reason I used Homeworks was because they were the only plumber with same-day availability. Frankly, the $89 service call fee was a rip-off, but at least I didn't get scammed out of a thousand bucks.

The technician also lied to me by saying it would cost me more if I didn't do the work the same day because he would have to be paid twice for coming back out the next day. This was a lie because later when I declined the service and paid the $89 fee, he told me that if I change my mind and have them do the work in the future, they will credit me back the fee.

Note that one of the first questions the technician asked me while chatting me up was what I do for work. I suspect they ask that to calculate how much they think you will be willing to spend. He also asked if I had been aware I needed a new water heater, likely to gauge whether I would have any idea what a fair price was.

Also, as others have said, it seems obvious that most of the reviews on Google are fake. They have 3 times as many reviews on Google as the next most for any plumber in my area.

If you are going to use them, be sure to get an itemized cost estimate.  A simple sanity check will save you from getting ripped off.

Someone else on here reported $3000 to replace a 50-gallon gas hot water heater.  I paid $4200.  Shame on me for letting my guard down.

Before I start, be sure to also read the reviews that are not recommended.

I contacted Minnesota Plumbing and Heating out of Shakopee for a leak under our sink.  I got Homeworks (based out of Eagan) invoices, texts, etc.  Not sure the relationship here as it was never clearly described.

Our plumber was fine so no problem with him.

I called on a Monday and asked when the soonest someone could come out.  I was told Monday was booked but Tuesday was open.  I scheduled it and was told what to expect.  We'd be provided with a 2 hour window of when someone would be there and they would let us know when they were on their way.  Tuesday morning, I was given a 3 hour window from 1-4pm.  My wife left work early to even be back home early incase they were able to make it slightly early.  At around 3:30pm I was told the person who was supposed to come may not make it.  I suggested later was just fine that i needed our problem fixed.  We were later notified no one was going to be coming and we could reschedule.

We rescheduled (mainly to see if they'd follow through or if we'd have problems a second time) for Friday.  Again, because I was told to expect a window of when someone would be here I was surprised when I only received a text message on Friday at 7am saying someone was on their way.

Not knowing what the problem was and having the time to research pricing, we ended up going with the recommendation.  Buyers remorse!

We were told we needed a new garbage disposal.  We were giving quotes from $599 to $1,199 (depending on the horsepower we wanted).  We chose the one most similar to the one we had for $599.  That includes the labor.  But, the invoice doesn't breakdown the labor vs. materials and is NOT transparent.  From what I found, a $100 garbage disposal and $499 for an hour and half worth of work.

Almost $333/hour seems like robbery!  I would normally be able to say convenience is worth a price but it wasn't convenient getting this scheduled.

The job is done.  I did my research too late.  I regret my purchase.  Buyer beware.

Disreputable company.  They fixed a leaky faucet a year ago and it cost almost $1000 and they put a big hole in the bedroom wall and didn't fix it.  Thought that was excessive.  They recommended additional work which we declined.  They came back recently for a free furnace inspection.  Said the furnace was leaking acidic water and CO and it needed maintenance.  Gave us the choice of plans costing $2485 to $5157.  The furnace is only 1 year and still under warranty.  Called the furnace company who came and inspected it and said there was nothing wrong with the furnace.  They also said that Homeworks is known to recommend unneeded work and not to use them.

Buyer Beware!! I was told our waterheater tune up would be a 45 minute appointment.  The plumber drained our water heater, made it sound like the situation was completely desperate and then gave us an extremely high quote to repair or replace it.  We felt backed into a corner and even more frustrated when we found out that we had been lied too about the products that would be installed and the amount it would cost to install those products. Apparently, from reading some of the reviews below, I should have been ready to negotiate pricing (stupid me for not expecting to just get a fair price up front).  If you decide to call this company expect them to be at your house for a LONNNNNG time and that they will find extensive repair or replacement issues which they will charge you an arm and a leg to complete. Again, buyer beware!

Worst experience--felt taken advantage of by the plumber. We needed a minor valve replacement as outlined on an inspection report for a house sale. The report was shown to the guys that came for the appt. They quoted 500 to fix the valve, but also tried to recommend a new water heater. I said no, but had them proceed with the valve since it was required for the home sale (we wish we would have had time to just have then leave then). They replaced a perfectly functioning one, and missed the one that was leaking (likely because they were trying to up-sale the water heater!) When my husband found out what happened he called them to return, and they tried to charge another 500 to fix the actual broken one. When I confronted the guy about the scam, he argued and blamed me. Glad we said no to their membership too! I hate it when men take advantage of women in these scenarios. My husband followed up with the manager and had the 2nd charge credited back--but still an awful experience!

On 10\14/2021 a service person from this company came out to check our heating system as part of a membership we purchased. He found 3 problems totaling $832.50. We were supposed to receive a $600 part in 2 to 3 weeks. After a month, I called to see what happened to the part. The first 2 phone calls on a Mon. And Fri. Were ignored. Today , the following Monday, I called again and finally got a call back. I asked for my money back because I was never notified of a delay and phone calls were ignored. I'm suppose to get a check back. We will see. I will not use this company again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

We wanted to get a simple plumbing project done to replace our old kitchen sink with a new one and install a garbage disposal (electrical already in place).  We were quoted 1900 dollars which I thought was pretty steep to begin with but went with it because we have a new infant and didn't want to shop around for a long time introducing multiple people into our home during a pandemic.

Michael came out for our estimate and measurements and also came to do the work.  He told us to purchase a sink that didn't fit and was too small for the hole in the countertops.  Our only choice would be to replace the countertops since he said the larger sink would be too big.  Turns out the larger sink fits our cabinets.  So my husband called and spoke to the manager and we were told he would hook the new sink up without a charge.  Michael shows up proceeds to argue with my husband and said he wouldn't be installing the new sink without a fee.  He was extremely unprofessional.

Needless to say we will not be using this company for any future projects (being in a 1950s rambler we have quite a few projects in our future) Go with them if you want to pay 1900 dollars for an hour and a half of work and more of a headache than before you contacted them.

We would give HOMEWORKS A NEGATIVE NUMBER !!!
Deceptive Trade Practices and Refusal to submit a Warranty Claim to Carrier.

In June 2022, our furnace started leaking water and the AC stopped working. Matt from HOMEWORKS replaced the blower motor & control panel and charged us $3,252. He also said the outside AC Carrier unit was low on pressure and gave us an estimate of $1,257 for that work. We asked him to submit a warranty claim because our furnace was under a Carrier 5-year warranty. He said another dept. was in charge of submitting warranty claims. The furnace leaked again the next day. Matt came and said the tray under the AC coils was cracked and gave us an estimate of $4k to replace the AC coils & suggested that we buy a new system. We declined to have HOMEWORKS do any additional work.
A KB Service tech came the next day. He said the reason the AC stopped working earlier was because the blower motor failed, which caused ice to build up on the AC coils; ice melted and dripped onto the blower motor. He said the furnace filter (which was less than a week old) was bent and the blower speed was set to 1700cfm, when it should have been set at 1200cfm. He fixed the blower speed and said the water leaked because the high fan speed caused water to spray off of the AC coils rather than dripping into the tray below the AC coils. He said there was nothing wrong with the AC coils or tray. The KB tech also checked the outside AC unit and said it was just fine.  The KB bill was $300.
We sent HOMEWORKS a notice of cancellation of the invoice for $3,252 and a notice of cancellation of the $14 monthly charge for their service plan.
Despite our requests to HOMEWORKS to submit a warranty claim to Carrier HOMEWORKS has refused. The only reason given for their refusal was because the parts were wet. That is an excuse. I talked to Barb with the Warranty dept. at Carrier. She said that HOMEWORKS was an authorized Carrier dealer & should have submitted a warranty claim & that we could not submit a warranty claim. She said the work needed to be performed by a licensed tech with factory parts. Likely, HOMEWORKS failed to follow proper protocol & did not use factory parts or a licensed tech for the work. If HOMEWORKS had informed us that they would not submit a warranty claim, we would not have had them do any work at all. This is deceptive trade practices, designed to collect as much money as possible from us, the consumer. HOMEWORKS also tried to trick us into unnecessary expensive repairs or replacement of our furnace and AC unit that was less than 5 years old. HOMEWORKS has offered to refund the $300 paid to KB, which is not acceptable.

These guys are criminals this is a predatory business.  They quoted me 4K to repair a boiler.  Two local businesses quoted me ~$300.  They offered overly urgent and misleading data about the issue, tried to hurry my wife to decide telling us that the boiler needed to be replaced.  They will exploit any available opportunity to take as much money as possible.

This company is a complete SCAM! Do not use them.  I had them come out for a routine furnace tune-up on 12/11, and the tech 'red-tags' my furnace telling me there are unsafe CO levels emitting from my furnace, and I need to either replace the heat exchanger ($1600) or buy a new furnace (minimum $4-5K).  He leaves me space heaters and tells me I can't use my furnace because I could die and they don't want to be held liable.  He tried getting me to sign up for one of the options on the spot, but with that kind of money, I knew I had to do some research before taking a next step.  After reading about red-tagging online, and the scam that it is, I call Freedom Heating for a second opinion.  THANK GOODNESS I did because guess what? There was no reason for it to be red-tagged, no reason to get a new heat exchanger, no reason for a new furnace.  Freedom Heating simply cleaned the burners, and voila! CO was at a normal level again, only $200! He said the CO levels were originally high in the exhaust, but not in the air flow that goes into the home, which is where it matters.  He said none of this should have happened, and that they were just trying to sell me a new furnace.  HomeWorks never even mentioned to me about cleaning the burners as a possible solution, it went straight to scare tactics as a way to get my money.  Do NOT use this company for anything (friend had a scam from them for a plumbing issues as well).  They are extremely non-trustworthy and only looking to make a quick (thousands) of bucks.

I used HomeWorks because my hot water heater quit working. The young man was very polite and seemed to know what he was talking about. He said they weren't here to sell me anything and gave me my options. Long story short it was my broken water softener that gave me hard water that burnt out my water heater. I replaced both with the best, tankless heater and saltless softener. A lot of money but he said if I found the same thing cheaper they will match....that is still pending. They were done. But left me with a very small gas leak. I did notice but thinking they had the gas off and on again?? I didn't know. 6 days later a different young man came to tune up my furnace and he said he smelled the gas leak...I explained to him what I said above. Now shouldn't he have fixed it or called company to come back and fix it......nope he said it would cost me $400 for him to fix it, I said no and he left but not before trying to get me to upgrade or buy a new furnace. He never did tune it up. Also wanted to sell me a new humidifier that he noticed quit working, it was working the week before.
$700 and it would have all new hook ups and digital. Ok I need my humidifier. The more I thought about it I said no more from HomeWorks. The owner argued with me of whose fault it was for the gas leak and said his guy didn't fix it cuz I told him not to. State law says last person  or company there is responsible. He said he was going to send his guys over to check my leak when they install the humidifier. I said I cancelled that so he said well then he was not sending his guys over. I told him that was blackmail. By the time his guys talked him into it and told him he was being a jerk it was to late.
My guy took the pipes apart, turned and tightened them in 10 min. No more gas leak. Furnace is tuned up and my humidifier needs a new part, not a new humidifier.
I should have looked at reviews. Very poor customer service and they really want your money.

There in the business of selling new boilers. Beware. I too fell victim of the mailer inspection. Yes I paid my $89 bucks for a $6,500 quote. I do not need a new boiler. The one I have will outlive me. Went with a company that actually came in, did cleanup, minor repairs and feel great for the $950.

I would never recommend this company. After they installed my mother's water heater there was was a gas leak that clearly wasn't there before. They offer to fix it for $400 after spending thousands for the original install. Not only that once she cancelled the new humidifier after the poor service the owner told her he wasn't sending anyone over if she wasn't installing the humidifier (blackmail). The way the owner treated my mother was unexcusable even his employees told him he was being an unreasonable. Who leaves a gas leak in the home they were working in and just dismisses the problem? Home work's that's who. I recommend hiring any reputable company over this place.

I have no idea why they have so many positive reviews except if people are gullible and don't get multiple bids.  Had to pay $50 to have a plumber come to my residence and scam me with grossly inflated price quotes and a very likely attempt to scare me to think it was much more complicated that the work may be.  Cost quoted to replace a kitchen faucet was 4 times more than another plumber quoted.  Beware!

I've used this business in the past and have been, and continue to be, very impressed with their individual technicians.  However, I'm more and more disappointed in the company as a whole, to the point where they will no longer have any of my future business.  Don't read my whole review - just know, they scheduled a visit that was unneeded, and they offered no remedy for being late.

My poor experience today started with making an appointment *this company* had already advised me on.  I reiterated the special circumstances, just to be sure there was no confusion or issues when they arrived to perform the service.  Unfortunately when the technician arrived, 40 minutes late of a 2.5 hr appt window without any notification they were running behind schedule, they had none of that information nor the ability to perform the repairs.  Mind you, they only arrived after I called to ask for an ETA and the scheduler told me they'd like to keep me on the schedule, but it may be another 2 hrs....

Now, back to my scheduling, I may not have used the exact technical terms but I provided more than enough information, as I now know, for them to tell me over the phone that they no longer perform that service.  If nothing else, I wish the receptionist would have picked up on the very specific details I was providing to consider escalating my questions before simply telling me that it would be no problem to complete the requested service same day.

In any case, when I contested their trip fee based on my appointment window being missed and completely unnecessary I was directed to the founder/owner of the company who basically told me 'gas is expensive, you need to pay'.

They have my $89 for a trip fee, but they do not have this or any future business.

Homeworks Plumbing Heating and Air utilizes unethical and exploitative business practices. They 'red tagged' our furnace and quoted us thousands of dollars for cleaning and repair. The job requires a $130 part plus a few hundred dollars in labor. We extracted ourselves with just a $50 service fee. Please be aware that engaging this operation for a simple job will result in a laundry list of 'fixes' delivered in an urgent and frantic manner. You will be handed a stack of papers, supplied with 'data' about CO levels, shown photos of 'tests' (some which were not even of our basement/furnace). Better Business Bureau and the MN Dept of Labor have been advised of this  operation. In fact, in 2020 they took government action against Homeworks because of their tactics:

On August 3, 2020,  the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.08, subd. 11 (b) (2) (8) (9) and 326B.45, subd. 1b (2018). Under terms of the Consent Order, the business agreed to be prohibited from using misleading photographs, scare tactics and/or intimidation when inspecting possible plumbing issues in a Minnesota consumer's residence or commercial property, and they are prohibited from red-tagging a consumer's equipment as a sales tactic unless there is a life safety issue that the business can fully support. In addition, they agreed that Andrew Ryan is prohibited from performing plumbing work unless he receives direct supervision by a licensed master or journeyworker plumber and Thomas Ryan shall ensure that all individuals who perform plumbing work on behalf of the business are properly licensed or registered and are actual employees of the business and comply with supervision ratios. In addition, the business shall ensure that all future license application, forms and communications with DLI are accurate and truthful.  The Consent Order was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.

Steer clear and spread the word.

Only go with this company if you hate your money!

We were charged $614 to install a ball valve ($100 piece of equipment). This took the plumber 90 minutes to install. That is almost $400 an hour! After this was completed, I talked with a friend's licensed plumber and asked for a similar estimate. He quoted $350 :(

I called the company to get an itemized list of the charges. I was given the run-around. I talked with 2 different people and they refused to tell me. They said we charge a flat rate. I asked them the price of the one item they needed. The only thing they would say is Sir, your wife signed the form. Think about how shady that is! We are livid!

Hidden charges, condescending service, and taking advantage of people...If money is no big deal to you then this is the company for you!

If you value honesty, integrity, and your money... go with someone else.

Best Customer Service

HomeWorks made everything super easy for us.  The phone rep said they would make all the arrangements with the city to get the water turned on and off at street (another company said we would have to arrange that ourselves). They got that taken care of, followed up to confirm the appointment and said they would let us know 30 minutes prior so that my husband could go to work and then leave to meet the tech rather than having to sit at home waiting. That was very convenient. Technician was very friendly, knew his stuff and got it done quickly.  He cleaned up after himself and left us these great work buckets, too.  Not the least expensive company, but dependability, convenience and saving my time have a lot of value to me, so I would definitely call them again.
& have recommended HomeWorks to other friends already.

Gave me a quote for leaking toilet and required a 50% deposit.  Unable to complete repair until a different vendor could repair damaged subfloor.  That vendor offered to complete all the repairs I needed at approximately 75% less price!  Through them I learned the HomeWorks quote included HomeWorks parts I did not need. When I called HomeWorks to cancel my future appointment to install toilet I was told deposit was non-refundable.  In summary I paid HomeWorks $700 for providing an estimate of $1420 and removing the toilet tank (stool was left behind), neither of which were broken.  I needed a new wax seal for the flange.  For that HomeWorks quoted $1420.  I wrote them twice but they never responded.  So disappointed.  Seems they're not interested in keeping future customers but in charging first time customers outrageous prices.

We received a text to come out for a complimentary water heater tune-up. The guy arrived and immediately told us the water heater needed to be replaced even though the water heater was not leaking, no issues with hot water, and wasn't making any noises. He also went around the house to all the sinks and told us all of the shut off valves were seized and needed replacement. I went around and checked myself and they worked just fine. He quoted over $7000 to replace everything. I asked him the price for just the water heater and he said $4000. I asked him why so expensive considering you can buy a good water heater at Home Depot for $500-$800. After stumbling over his words, he finally said it was because that their water heaters are industrial strength and they handle all warranty work. So in other words they are building any future repairs to you upon the initial cost. I called around and was quoted $1500 for a similar water heater installed. After reading the reviews here its obvious this company is a sham. I have now discovered their 5 star reviews on Google are fake. Otherwise its people who don't realized they have overpaid. Never use this company. I had them out simply because last year our 2 year old AC stopped running. I thought they did a good job. But now after this experience I wanted to check the pricing on what they did and sure enough I way overpaid. All I needed was a AC capacitor. This part sells for $8-$45 and I have been told by another company that is installing our $1500 water heater that this part installed runs about $80-$150. I paid $400 and that was with a $300 discount for my AC being under warranty. The original price was going to be $700. They are nothing but scammers. BEWARE! DO NOT USE this company.

i bought a new furnace and a high end air conditioner. the air conditioner leaked when i started using it. i called HomeWorks and was rescheduled 3 times before a technician looked at it. the manufacturer, Carrier, sent a cracked coil. There were problems with fixing it three days later. late arrival, wrong part delivered and then finally installed. the technician did a good job. Customer Service was terrible. the owner put off calling me and basically defended their performance. what they sold me was not what i got. unless something changes, i will not use their services.

Find another reputable company for your needs. This company just wants to get inside your house and sell you expensive repairs that you don't need. The service manager, Andy, is rude and arrogant if you call them to complain about the technician.

My 47-year-old central A/C unit finally gave in and needed to be replaced. Through a referral service, I was connected with HomeWorks to give an estimate on a replacement.  They were insistent on sending a service tech, at a charge, first before doing a quote for new work.  I refused numerous times, I already had another company diagnose, all I needed was a quote for a new installed unit.  After I thought they understood, I get an email confirmation for 'my service tech appointment.'  Again had to argue not what I need or want.  Finally got them to confirm it was for only a new unit quote.   The person they sent was quite new on the job, he said been there two weeks, but they trained him well as to how upcharge - walking through the inside he is 'finding' all these things needing replacement, most having nothing to do with A/C unit - funny all the other companies I had give quotes found none of these things.

When he was going over the quote and goes in for the close he says Is there anything the would prevent you from going with us? I said Yes - all the bad reviews you have on-line, how do you explain those.  His response was, Why did you have us out here if you already knew about the bad reviews to which he left and said he would have someone else call me.  Call never happened.

We called for a toilet repair yesterday and they set up an appointment for today 1-3:30.  Immediate e-mail twice confirming the appt time for today.  We received a call in the morning today to again confirm that we would be home today between 1-3:30.  At 1:15 today we received a call that said they could NOT come out today, but could we be home tomorrow.  Really??  We made sure we would be home and stayed in all day to wait for the plumber.  We cancelled plans.  Their website said 24/7 service, but when asked whether they could still make it tonight they could not.  Very displeased with this lack of consideration for the potential customer.

Came to repair water heater and told us the entire tank needed repair and that our softener needed replacement as well.  The tech took apart everything and we canceled the service as a second opinion told us otherwise.  Softener was working as I told the tech, who is not a licensed plumber.  He tdid not put the softener back together and he cut the pipes to the heater and took the copper piping.  We ended up having to replace the water heater because of how everything was cut when all it needed was a new gas control box replaced. Also we now have to purchase a new softener as we cannot get it working again.  And we were still charged $900!!

Do not use this company as they lie and try to get you to replace things that are not broken... the tech tried to tell us the softener caused the rust to parts of the water heater.... its water it will eventually get some rust... its not caused by the sofetner!!!

After I paid them, they installed a boiler that I didn't pay for. It happend to be a cheaper and lesser quality than the one I actually paid for.

I called them mulitple times and they finally answered and told me they wouldn't come back and switch the boilers. So they basically scammed me out of my money and installed the wrong product.

Terrible company. Never going to them again. Ever.

Honestly... I don't like to give bad reviews but when my water heater quit I called what I thought was a local provider but apparently Homeworks purchases their phone numbers when they no longer operate. My issue wasn't with the quality of the work but it's clear their business model is to see how high they can get the estimate. Their favorite mantra is 'you are not in code'! The bottom line is I paid a LOT more to replace my water heater with HomeWorks! Find a local highly rated company!
