Our under counter lights had malfunction in transformer, our front yard light needed straightening, and new concrete steps needed a handrail installed. They completed these tasks timely and for the quoted price. We are pleased!

Jim has come out to service our AC twice now and trust him to tell me the truth without upselling like the other guys. He took the time to educate us on the climate here and the unique needs of our system. Highly recommend MI

Had a problem with our air conditioners not working. Joe and another guy from MVP came out, told us we needed to replace the entire system for two floors---$15000 x 2. We nearly died. They replaced a small electric part on one of them to get it running, also, but left the other one off. Had another guy out. He looked at it for a few minutes and told us that the condenser units just needed their screens hosed off, which he did in 5 minutes. Stupid me, I should have known. They work fine, no replacement needed. He had to replace an electric part on the other unit. Total cost from him: $250.
I felt stupid--I should be cleaning my units. But either the MVP guys were inept or they were trying to trick us into spending serious $. Either way, I'm sure glad I got another opinion.
Then for their bill for the electric part, they charged us for putting freon into the system that they didn't do. I called up their office and got that part removed, but sheesh!

Technicians You Can Trust With Your House Keys!?
I called Anthony PH&C out to clear the main line from my house to the street in Jan 2019. There was water in the stack below the floor line. The technician was new to the position. He ran the snake down the sewer line to clear any possible blockage. The water did not go down. It was thought that the snake had not reached the street where it was assumed a blockage was, so the tech called the office and he told me it would be $350 to clear the line by using a longer snake cable. I agreed to the $350 and went back into the house. After the technician discussed the matter on the phone he came to the house and told me that the price was now $492. I told him it was not acceptable to me to change a price after I had agreed to the price. He did not argue with that but could/would not honor the agreed upon $350. I ended up speaking with the plumbing manager, Ray. He did not dispute that the $350 was agreed upon but would not honor the agreed price. He stated that regardless of what the technician had agreed to, it wasn't in writing and that Anthony PH&C hadn't done the work yet. I was rather amazed with this response and we discussed the situation for nearly an hour. Regardless, Ray sent me the $492 proposal. I sent him a response that said basically that Anthony PH&C has Technicians You Can Trust With Your House Keys! on your truck. I asked him to live up to that motto and the Better Business Bureau A+ rating advertised on their truck. I also told him that the $142 difference between honoring your word and reneging on your word should not be worth it. That made no difference to Ray. So after calling back to their office and finding out that no one at the middle management level, including customer service/relations was going have any influence on Ray's decision, I left a voicemail for the company president. I soon got a call from the Chief Operating Officer, Kent. He said he would look into the matter and get back to me. He did call me back the next work day and scheduled the work to be done at the agreed upon $350. It turned out that there was no blockage in the line. It is probably just a low point in the sewer line running to the street. I was not charged.
This is a matter of the modern PR/Advertising mentality over common Integrity and standing behind your word. Anthony PH&C advertises one thing and responded in another way. My takeaway from this experience: 1. Unless you have construction experience, have the time and are willing to debate/argue/write the merits of common integrity and/or you have a good lawyer, avoid doing business with Anthony PH&C. If Anthony PH&C employs someone who will renege on their word for $142, I can only imagine if your $5,000 central AC system goes down. (I actually discussed that scenario with Ray and he said that's basically the technician's issue, not Anthony's. Unreal.) 2. If you still decide to work with Anthony PH&C go around the plumbing manager. He has no idea what the logo on their truck means.
