Same day service was acceptable. The tech was very quick and friendly.  Dispatch fee was reasonable at $79.  Compressor would not start and solution was, as I expected, replacement of the capacitor.  BHP had replaced this capacitor before.

The technician quoted an additional $435 for the capacitor, which was shocking.  As I was cold, I agreed and decided I would never use BHP again.  The system was quickly up and running.

The part installed retails for $30 and literally plugs in.  An internet search reveals a reasonable charge (over the dispatch fee) would be $150-$200.

The service response was acceptable. The technician was excellent. But based on comparisons of similar service, the price was very high - about 50% more than typical/customary.

Still waiting, I was having trouble with my heater a few weeks ago, it just didn't seem to be running properly. Called BOB, they came out promptly. The service tech detected carbon monoxide and shut down the unit and said there was a crack in the heating block. She took pictures and took read outs from the tests, and I was supposed receive these via email days later. I have still not received them and I have called and emailed a few times.

I got a second opinion the next day, after BOB pushed really hard to sell us a new furnace. The other HVAC professional came out and did a carbon monoxide test, the test read 0. He did it a few times, still no detection of carbon monoxide and he saw no cracks in the heating block. He tightened a few wires and cleaned up the unit a bit and had it working fine.

Bob Hamilton should be embarrassed, to straight out lie about a deadly gas leaking from my furnace. I suppose they can do that when most people are at the mercy of the tech.

I am still waiting on the READ OUTS and pictures that they took.

Want to be sold a new furnace for no reason? Better call BOB

I should have done my research before hiring Bob Hamilton to do minor plumbing work at my home.

I needed two drains snaked (bathroom and washing machine in the basement). First things first, I never received a quote for this work until the plumbing technician arrived, and he told me it would be $300 per drain + $50 labor. I had taken off work to be there for this service, so I had no choice but to oblige. After snaking the basement line, the technician told me that he thought the line was broken somewhere, but they didn't have any cameras small enough to fit the pipe so the next step would be to cut up our basement floor - excuse me? Yeah, I'm not cutting up my entire basement floor without knowing IF the line is broken and WHERE it is broken.

The tech then quoted me $22,000 to jackhammer the basement and replace the line that *might* be cracked. I had to stop myself from laughing out loud when I saw the quote in front of me. That's more than the price of my car. Does anyone ever fall for this?

After sharing this quote with a few friends and family members, we realized quickly that Bob Hamilton is known for ripping people off with outlandish quotes. We will definitely not be using this company again!

On Labor day of 2017 our a/c died and I called Bob Hamilton to get a  quote to replace. I paid too much but it did come with a 10 year parts and labor.  The catch is that I can only use Bob Hamilton if something goes wrong.  On July 14 of this year the blower on my a/c would not come on.  I called and they came out and the tech was very nice and said that the blower had blown its fuse. He replaced it and the blower turned on and worked fine until July 28.  A different tech came out and replaced the fuse and went on his way.  It did not even last overnight. So on July 29 I made call number three for the same problem .  This time the replaced the capacitor and the fuse.  On the 30th I made call number four for the same problem.  This time the supervisor came out and changed the fuse and checked all of the connections and said that if this did not  work that they would have to check the thermostat connections as there could be a short causing the fuse to blow.  So here we are 4 visits same problems same fix.  On August 10 once again the blower did not come on and I had no a/c.  Only feel  like 110 outside but I made the call again.  This time they checked all the electrical and found nothing wrong.  They changed the thermostat and the connector in the unit.  So all electrical has been checked and replaced except the mother board.  Guess what on August 14 no a/c.  This time it is Saturday and someone cannot be out until Monday.  At least this time there is not a heat wave going on.  The person answering the phone took my wrath but remained professional.  They are sending their best (????) on Monday and we shall see.  The only good thing about this whole situation is that it has not cost me anything due to the warranty but the discomfort does not make up for it.  I am stuck with this company and it is either milking the warranty or they do not communicate an issue so they can do something different when their fix does not work or they just do not know what they are doing.

I had a dripping shower head and the main water valve to my house started leaking on a Tues morning. I called Bob Hamilton because I saw there many ads. I was charged a 48 dollar trip charge.... then to fix a dripping shower head was 570.88 (still orginal faucet) and 537.77 to replace a main entrance valve. He did the job in less than 2 hours. So my total bill was 1156.55 for less than 2 hours and my friends say the parts were less than 50 dollars. When I called them they said I agreed to a 860 price before they did the work ( I got a discount lol ) . I know nothing about plumbing and was expecting a lot more work to be involved in that quote. I am still sticker shocked.

Used twice, first experience to replace a sump pump seemed fine - $750!  2nd time called for leaking pipe and forced a annual plan on us and took advantage of my aunt.  Plumber suggested removing toilet, replacing wax ring and the valve. All which were not leaking and charged $450 for 15 minutes work.  When I said that is a ridiculous cost he lowered it to $350 kid I bought there annual plan for $100.

Just ridiculous behavior. Won't use Bob Hamilton again.  This should have been $150 for what he did.  I had someone else remove a beam and find the leak and repair it for $150.

I have some rental properties in Mid-Town KC.  Some of these houses had been vacant for 10-15 years before I have rehab'ed them, so they have a variety of issues.  Richard D from Bob Hamilton has been out on several of them and has always given me the straight scoop on what the problem is and he has been able to solve the problem.  His input and advice on plumbing in these older houses has been a great help to me.  Thanks Richard!

BEWARE.  Was to be $79 for a service call.  It was that and $124 to tell you what he problem  was.  They just tried to sell me a new unit. It was to be $2900 to get it running. We called for another company and it was $590.
One star only because they were nice

I can say the work done was good but we were way overpriced. The had a deal new air conditioner gets you a free furnace. My mistake was trusting that their price would be fair. They charged us $9700 for the new A/C and furnace. Afterwards my friends and family told me this was at least $2-3000 more than other companies. I called June 17 to talk to the customer service about this and did not get a call back until July 11. I will never use them again and would warn others to be sure to get other estimates before signing on the bottom line

We called Bob Hamilton for a furnace tune up.  Found out we had problems with the furnace which meant we needed to replace the whole unit. My husband and I were expecting to have to replace the furnace in the near future (as it is very old), so went along with the process of financing and scheduling the install.  When my dear husband told me it was going to cost over $4,500 I quickly cancelled the install and started shopping around.  I WAS APPALLED to find out how much Bob Hamilton was ripping us off!! we got a new bid for HALF the cost at a different company that offered great, maybe EVEN BETTER costumer service.  Please people, save your time and money and go somewhere else! I feel as if Bob Hamilton tried to take advantage of a middle class couple with young children.

(8th review of 2021)

Host at our Airbnb called them to fix the heater. Michael came out & was quick & brought the right tools to troubleshoot the problem. So far so good. Hopefully it was only the compressor (aka battery) he replaced that was for the fan.

The other company came out twice before & didn't look at the compressor. Told us it was dust burning. Michael said dust doesn't burn like that & wasn't the smell. Said it was the fan motor straining. So he replaced the battery.

First I'd like to say the service guy was very nice and respectful, however, this is the first annual cleaning after a year of having this new furnace in my younger brother's house (he's disabled) and we were told annual service was included in the additional monthly contract we have for the furnace, yet the service guy is telling us the cleaning will cost $299. We know we have to pay for the filters, but it's kind of silly to pay for annual service after being told the service is included in the contract. But guess what? According to the service guy, if we DON'T do the cleaning, it voids the warranty. Huh? To be honest, I don't have the contract in front of me right now, but my parents' furnace (another company) was just checked last week and they only paid for filters. This was the level of service they were told they were purchasing from Bob Hamilton. Apparently....not. Shame Bob Hamilton for saying one thing to my parents and meaning another and charging monthly for.....I have no idea what.

I would strongly encourage anyone who is searching for a plumbing or HVAC company to avoid Bob Hamilton Plumbing, Heating and Cooling.

I've had two very poor experiences with them. Once for a plumbing issue that occurred on a Friday evening. I ended up paying over $400 for them to come out to snake a clogged drain. Spent the entire time having to listen to the tech gripe.

Second experience left me in the middle of the winter with no heat for two days. The pipes froze.

I find their newest politically driven radio commercials highly offensive.

Worst company ever, would give zero stars if I could. Quoted 10k worth of work that was not needed. Got three other quotes
from plumbers who told us what actually needed to be fixed and quoted us much less for that. Don't trust them, nothing but crooks.

Had a tiny gas leak detected at water heater on the 1/2-3/4 fitting - just needed new fitting and sealant - would have done it myself but had to be professional as house was under contract to be sold. Unfortunately I was busy in work so wife couldnt get me on the phone. Received email later with receipt - price to replace a fitting and test for leak - over 400 dollars. This job was done in less than 10 mins. Wish I was there to haggle - my wife also said she felt uncomfortable which takes some doing - as he tried to convince her to replace the water heater.  Oh and to top it off i asked her to get a quote for joining 2 water pipes together - apparently it would be 800 dollars. Luckily she was out of cash before he could continue doing anything.   At least the wifes now educated - I will not be using Bob Hamilton again.

Called in the morning to schedule to have a toilet re-seated. Was told they could come out after 4 pm the same day. They also said they would call every step of the way and let me know when they were on their way. After not receiving a call, I called them at 6:00 pm to see if they were still coming out. I was told that I was on the schedule for after 4 pm the next day. The next day I called them at noon to see if I was still on the schedule and they assured me I was. Waited until after 6 pm and called them to see if they were on their way. I was told they tried to call at 4:15 and received a busy signal. I asked what number they called and they gave me a number that wasn't even close to any number I would have given them. They said I'd need to re-schedule for the next day. After wasting two evenings, needless to say, I didn't reschedule. I would have given a rating of zero stars if I could.

Superb customer service, glad to see another retail company besides Chick Fil A that can give great service on a consistent basis.  I have dealt with their staff on many occasions and everyone is always smiling.  After rolling the dice with Craiglist, plumbing and HVAC are two service areas I would never again go for the lowest bid...you never know what is going to roll-up to your house.  These guys get plumbing done right the first time, especially important for plumbing where cheap fixes can be devastating.

Totally fraudulent company.  On a routine service check for my furnace (first time here after I bought a service partner agreement), they said I had cracks in my heat exchanger.  $4300 to repair but with that cost they recommended new furnace.  Granted my furnace is older, but it works just fine. They tried to scare me into thinking the furnace was hazardous and turned it off making me sign a liability waiver.  I did not buy into any of this.  Just had a feeling it was a scam.  Had my long time trusted company come out to take a second look.  There were no cracks.  Nothing was wrong. That ranks right up there with shady auto repair shops.  Never do business with them again.

Bob Hamilton prices are outrageous!  Total price over $850 for a very small plumbing job.  Called at 5:30.  They could be there after 8:00 but that would be $130 because it was after hours.  The guy showed up.  He said he had to open the back of the cabinet to diagnose the problem.  To open the cabinet was going to be over $250 even though it would take 15 minutes to open the cabinet.  He looked at the pipe that needed to be replaced.  That was over $450 for any minor plumbing repair.  I asked him what the material or labor charge was because it was a very small task.  He said if we have solder anything it was going to be over $450.  He was in and out in 3 hours with a few dollars worth of material and the total charge was over $850.   I just hope if you are reviewing this post you look elsewhere for service.  I wish I had.  Spread the word!

Got the job done quickly and efficiently. Very professional in appearance and demeanor.  Having said that, their price structure is outragiously high.  I agreed to pay it before the job started...that's on me.  But $450 for maybe an hour's labor...no parts...seriously?  Even allowing for some travel time that's way excessive.  Forget the 9 1 3.

I have a small, new sink in a guest bath that needed the drain pipe/trap and faucet installed.  Bob Hamilton service guy was supposed to come at 4pm.  They called my wife at 3 30 and said he was in the area.  She called back in 5 minutes and they had already sent him to another job.  He showed up just before 6, looked at the sink and gave us an estimate of $618.45.  Instead of throwing him out I asked if he was kidding--so he said he'd call his manager and see if he could do it for $390.  I told him I did not do business that high ball-low ball way.  We paid him the $48 trip fee and sent him on his way.  This morning we stopped pay on the check.  Hamilton is just a marketing company--not a plumbing company.  They use contractors and hope to fool people into paying exorbitant fees.  This is a simple job that takes about 2 hours and we are having it done tonight for less than $200.

We have a service partnership with Bob and what a waste that is.  They tell you it gives you priority service. Beware!! That is not true.  Also to get service on heat and ac because you pay for the plan means since you have already paid them you are last on the list.  Don't get the service plan.  If you are a pay by the call you get priority. There customer service is terrible. They don't call when they are running late.  Then you call and they say we are busy servicing people without AC or heat.  So I guess we just need to read there minds. But unless you have all the time in the world you can wait all day for an appointment, even though they tell you morning.

Yesterday a guy named Spencer showed up to fix our kitchen drain and told us we needed the entire drain to basement replaced. It involved about 8 to 10 feet of drain pipe and new cleanout valve.  He cut a hole in our wall under the sink disconnected the drain and went to lunch.  Came back and worked far about an hour or so.  Used the restroom twice.  Went out and sat in the truck with the engine and A/C running for 30 minutes. Charged us $2415 plus service charge of $48 and like idiots we paid and extra $114 for membership  to save $500 on a $2915.00 original quote. Our son said we could have gotten this done for much less! As Senior citizens we feel we were scammed.  Do not use Bob Hamilton Plumbing.  They are con artists. By the way they do not fix the wall so we now have a hole in an outside wall.

This company is expensive as plumbers go, but they do very quality work. I find the plumbers to be knowledgeable and skilled. My biggest issue with them is they have been a late cancel on me the last three times we have scheduled them. Their female customer relations individuals call and say I'm very sorry we have to reschedule  while I've been waiting all day for their arrival. When I talked with her (or as she said, it was someone else) at 10 am, she said she would know by 12:30 pm if they would need to reschedule.  At 3:35pm, I am called to say they would not be there.  I have made arrangements to be home for this scheduled appointment and feel my time is valuable. The woman telling me this has absolutely no remorse in her voice. It's as if she reading a script to me to apologize. When challenged, she becomes very impatient and slightly rude!  We are a preferred customer which makes me wonder how they treat someone who is not a preferred client!

DO NOT CALL BOB HAMILTON, they are scammers!

Furnace wasn't kicking on, Bob Hamilton came out and said I needed the inducer motor replaced for a price of $1643.40. I didn't have that so I was going to go another route to fix myself. That night as I laid in bed, I knew it was NOT the draft inducer motor because it had never made any noise that it was going bad. I went with my gut and called another company to diagnose the issue.

The inducer motor was fine, the new HVAC company said the inducer motor looked brand new and that the issue was a loose wire into my gas valve, they charged me nothing but the diagnostic fee to fix this and weeks later I have had NO problems.

This is not the first time Bob Hamilton has told me I need repairs that cost thousands of dollars, the last time was in April of 2022 when I had a leak from my tub to my kitchen. They charged me $527.40 to diagnose the problem and then stated that I needed to replace a less than 1 year old pipe and wanted me to pay an additional  $1,600-$1,700. I was not going for this price.

The pipe was fine and this issue was actually on the base of the tub and my brother and I fixed it for less than $20.

I feel that Bob Hamilton is either trying to intentionally scam people that are in a rough spot or are incompetent.

I will never call Bob Hamilton again and I make sure to tell everyone I know to not use them because of the outrageous diagnostics they supply.

on 6-23-15 I left an unfavorable revue, which yelp has hidden, regarding my experience.  A rep. asked me to call to discuss my experience.  I eventually spoke to a supervisor and we were able to come to a reduced overall price.  The fact they were willing to do this does indicate to me how important repeat clients are to  them and the importance of customer satisfaction.

I very much appreciate this.

Kitchen and porch light went out.  Electrician shows up and spends 3.5 hours looking at the issue.  Quotes $1406 to do the work.  I say ok, and then he says you need three new breakers so another $1400.  I again say ok and he says he has to get another guy to come out and run the wires in the attic.  Then he says no one can come so he can't do the work today but any other day works.  I say Friday and he says Friday won't work.  He jacked around the entire morning and I don't think he knew how to fix it in the first place so he was stalling long enough to not have to crawl in my attic.  I had to pay a $65 fee for nothing.  Never again.  Don't call Bob!

Don't use Bob Hamilton!  He charged me $282 to replace one outlet.  That's outrageous!  It took them less than an hour.  When I complained, I was told that they have a $63 charge to come out and a flat fee of $219 for each outlet.  I asked that since they were already out there if they would check the wiring on the other outlets and was told yes but there would be additional charges.

I called Bob Hamilton to repair a tripped breaker due to a bad GFCI outlet. The tech who came out didn't even look at the GFCI and jiggled one of the breakers saying it was popping and sizzling and that he couldn't work on it and we would need a new panel. After I refused to pay 3400 for a new panel he came back after talking to his manager, the reason the breaker was popping was it was not seated completely on the pole. He then quoted to change it out and the adjacent one, as well for $370 each, while still trying to push a new panel. I refused and went to a local electrician who switched out GFCI and checked out panel for $60. Sure wish I read these reviews before calling Bob. Never again.

Today my wife called me to the kitchen where our faucet was acting erratic and actual steam was coming out with extremely hot water. Knowing this wasn't right I ran to the basement and saw my water heater spewing water all over the floor. I looked on the side where there was a large orange sticker that said This unit is under 20 year warranty with Bob HAMILTON.  I shut off the gas and water and called 913-888-4BOB.  I explained the situation and within 3 hours it was all fixed with no bill. I mean, how is that possible. Our repair tech, Johnny, did an amazing job and was quite professional. I would recommend Bob HAMILTON to anyone.  I know their prices are not the cheapest out there but for exceptional service like I received this morning the small uplift was worth it a thousand times over. Pay for quality when you get plumbing service work because if it ever fails you will be amazed.

The sump pump they put in quit working & was still under warranty.  When they came after 8, discovered the floater had gotten out of the groove.  I still had to pay $130. for after 8 pm & 212. for diagnostics for a problem with their sump pump under warranty.  Called the next day & they were putting it back on me, which I did not appreciate.  I then wrote a letter, hoping the owner would see & asked for a reply.  They did not respond.
They do not honor their warranties. I will never use this company again & I do not recommend them.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY (unless money is no object to you)! Maybe it's the money they spend on advertising, but how this company is still in business is beyond me. Reviewing invoices from plumbers is a common task in my line of work and the amount this company charges customers is appalling. Every single time I see a bill from this company, I'm disgusted at the poor ethic and integrity clearly being driven from the owner. It has to be just a matter of time before this all catches up to them.

Our kitchen drains were clogged this past Sunday and after trying to clear them for about 2 hours we called Bob Hamilton and they said that their service Tech was on a call but he would call when it was completed. Within an hour Gary called and was on his way. Gary had to use his auger to break up the clog which took about 15-20 min., after which he took me to the basement and showed me what I could do to eliminate this happening again. Gary was very nice and answered all my questions with answers I could understand. I did think that the cost of the auger service was high, but the drain wouldn't have gotten cleared if I didn't have it done. I would definitely use them again and I would recommend them to others

Our wonderful new years day courtesy of Bob Hamilton.  On a routine maintenance yesterday, the technician broke our furnace ignition, spliced it in with a different part rather than fully replacing it, left it sitting on the circuit (surrounded by dust), and didn't bother telling us anything happened.  As icing on the cake, they can't waive the 130$ holiday fee without a manager, who obviously don't care enough about their clients to be on call while imposing such a limitation.  So it's either pay someone to fix what they broke, or have a very chilly holiday.  Brrr.

first time trying to use bob Hamilton plumbing and won't even bother next time, communication is piss poor, I set up an after 4pm appointment for Monday on Sunday night around 7pm because I can't flush my upstairs toilet or take a shower without my basement flooding, got two emails saying they had me scheduled for an after 4pm appointment, I've received one call and that was at 11am saying they may have to reschedule my appointment because they are busy dealing with emergency calls, I called them right back and told them I feel I have an emergency, they said they'd notate it and would call back.  I called them back at 5:46pm Monday night and was told I was the next person in line, it's now 8:21pm and they won't answer their phone and I still haven't heard from them.

Word of advice, just call a company that actually wants to work.

I called Bob Hamilton in a Saturday needing a drain snaked and a camera scope. The woman told me they could get someone out there the next day, and wouldn't charge for the camera since we've been without plumbing for weeks getting screwed over by other companies... which I appreciated. Finally had a glimmer of hope after a ridiculous run around with several other companies.

I received an email confirming my appointment and was told someone would call with a heads up when on the way.

I stayed home waiting all day and finally called at 2 pm asking if someone was coming.. I was told nobody had picked up the shift yet... okay... didn't know this was an up in the air appointment since I got a confirmation and wasn't told that.

4:00-4:30 rolls around and I call again. Ask again if someone is coming. I was told the camera person called in sick. I asked why that wasn't told to me in the beginning since I have wasted an entire day waiting for someone that wasn't showing up.
I told them to cancel the appointment that was made. He told me he wouldn't cancel it but just put it on hold so I could call back.
That won't be happening.
Just another company I won't ever be calling again right with Calvert plumbing and Ready services.

had a furnace installed in the crawlspace in 2010. They didn't install a filter cover. The cost of the furnace, humidfier and sump pump hole and sump pump was $8000.  Initially I was told I didn't need a sump pump.  I will never use their service again for anything.

Every year we have to have our drain in our kitchen cleaned. Every year it costs around 100... not Bob Hamilton. They are double the price of everyone in town. When we asked for a quote, they would not provide one. We went ahead and scheduled and after they come out, tell us $217! No thank you/ Because they came out, we have to pay $48. Shady, shady, shady

This company does good work, however they feel quite comfortable price gouging everyone. Unfortunately. They have significant communication problems with in the company for starters. When I called, the person who spoke on the phone had no idea at all what I was saying. They for the most part hire someone to answer the phone who has no experience or knowledge of either plumbing or anything else. I was told that someone would come out that day and fix my problem. Instead, I waited all day and found that someone showed up at the end of the day and informed me that they wouldn't do the work/don't do the kind of work I needed. So basically I waited all day for someone to look at the problem that I explained over the phone. Then Bob showed up later in the day and try to upsell me on about $14,000 worth of HVAC equipment. The worst thing about this entire experience is that I didn't get the work done when they promised it, and on top of that they had no problem charging me almost $600 to do nothing but connect a gas fireplace. That's it! It took about 45 minutes. Doesn't $600 sound like a bit much? Yep! They did the same thing to my children. They charged them hundreds of dollars to correct a faucet leak. Try to upsell THEM on thousands of dollars worth of plumbing that they didn't need. I would absolutely NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Be warned. They are very nice, definitely. Very polite. But dishonest.

Update: I edited my review because I got a call this morning from Bobby Hamilton, the owner's son. He was very nice and talked over the situation with me, apologized and gave a refund. I really appreciated that someone wanted to fix the situation.

I had a lot of trouble with this company last week. As soon as the techs left, I tried the plumbing and realized it hadn't been fixed. I asked them to come back out for the warranty visit and twice they came but didn't touch anything. They were here less than a total of 5 min. And just kept saying I'd have to replace all the piping or it would never get unclogged. That didn't make any sense to me, and I don't have about $10,000 for that sort of thing, so I asked for a partial refund and planned to call a different co. The woman on the phone, a dispatch manager, got belligerent, almost yelling, repeating No, we're not going to do that! over and over.
Well, I borrowed a snake from someone and figured out how to fix it myself. It was actually a simple fix. So it's working great now, but I'm out the $535, when this was a huge hassle. I believe this is the 3rd time we've had them service our house, so I feel they should have at least tried to compromise, since we are repeat customers. The amount of reviews on these sites (esp. the hidden reviews, for some reason) talking about taking advantage of the elderly is shocking. My mom in law had a similar experience where they said they'd need to replace her entire furnace system for thousands of dollars; she told them never mind and another local co. fixed her problem for $200. Wish I'd known that before making the call.

Worst experience ever with a company.
Had a clogged drain.
First tech came and busted a cap off, then put another in sideways. said he scheduled a camera man out the next day. Never came. I had to call them and get somebody out.
Then the camera man said he needs the other tech with the tools and he'll be out tomorrow. 2 days went passed before I call again.
So they finally sent a tech guy out the next day, and he said that we needed to pay again, when the job never got done.
Now it's been a month and our basement is still flooding and they won't refund us our money back, every time we call somebody is out of the office, crazy.
Crazy part is, we was planning on having them out to work on our finance and other things (since we just bought this house less than a year ago) after the fixed our clog. But that ship has sailed.
Would not recommend this company, whatsoever.

We had our sewage line back up into our basement and thought it was just a clogged main line. We saw a 99 dollar line clean out special online and called to have them fix the problem. When they got here they said the main line had failed and needed to be replaced. At this point we were in a jam, you couldn't run water or flush the toilets. It was a Saturday and we needed to get it fixed asap. Reluctantly we agreed and 8 months later we had an additional back up and were told we needed to replace the line going into the main sewage line. We had another plumber come out and they were able to clear the line and save us an additional $7,000 we were quoted after spending $12,000 initially. Please don't except this company as your first or last option.

Bob Hamilton plumbing and heating absolutely takes advantage of their customers. I had a small water pipe fixed and they charge me a total of $530 for approximately 45 minutes worth of work. When I called and tried to dispute the charge they said they do not charge an hourly rate, which would be about $400 an hour, but a flat fee. These people are scams and scums. do not have this fraud of a company come to your home

As of right now I'm a customer who had spent over $9,000 with this company. In the beginning I loved this company. Last year a technician named Eric did very will in redoing the piping in our home to get rid of a septic smell. That was a $5000 job.
This year I find out that my septic line, over time, came unaligned and needed major repair. Ok, I trust this company, I sign on to another $4000 job. They dig out and replace the main plumbing line going to my septic tank.
Since then I've realized that they hit my gutter, only to replace it with shittier gutter work. They finally hired on a real gutter company to fix it but I doubt that would have happened had I not continued calling them. Then, the big deal, is that the hydraulic cement patch they put in has given way. I've tried a few times to put more and more cement over the area but water comes into my basement when it rains badly... and it smells of shit.
Plus the pipes from last year drip shit water on you at the joints. They say this is condensation but there's no bubbles or vapor or anything else to describe... just drips off water at the joints.

I'm hoping they can fix this, and the gutter and then not simply say sorry mr. Customer but instead go above and beyond the poor quality we're dealing with now.

I spoke w customer service and my mother has been refunded. I appreciate it and want state that. It was the right thing to do given the entire experience for her. As you likely are aware, I shared another concern regarding this service person which I hope your company strongly addresses with him. The elderly need a lot more sensitivity than my mother received during this encounter. We will not use your company again as a result of my mother's experience. Again, I appreciate the follow up and refund.

Standing appointment for new hot water heater install over a week. Dispatcher calls at 8 to confirm plumber to arrive at 8.30. At 9.00 dispatcher calls and says plumber can't make it; no reason given. offered another plumber later in day, not sure when, whom I was not familiar with. Not a happy customer right now. Guess I better call Bob.

Worked for previous owners prior to my purchase.  I called after purchase to evaluate several issues.  Very expensive consultation.  Repaired washing machine drain hookup.  Left a mess in basement.  Called the office.  No call back no one came to clean up!

I will not call Bob Hamilton again. Very expensive and inconsiderate.

No stars. Completely overcharged my 87 year old mother for plumbing services. One of their subcontractors stole my mom's valuable antique ring, which unfortunately she had displayed in plain site on her dresser. And, I was unable to get any help from them after many emails back and forth concerning their overcharges.

We could not be more disappointed with the customer service we are receiving as we work with Bob Hamilton. (I use the term work with loosely, as it is myself and our home warranty company calling them almost daily, without the curtesy of a return phone call.) If we had to do it all over again, we would give our business to a different company in a heartbeat.

When our AC went out, Bob Hamilton was able to come out quickly to diagnose our problem. We have a home warranty, but the company that the warranty folks were going to send wasn't available for several days, so they agreed to work with an out of network service provider. When we talked to the people at Bob Hamilton, they assured us they were used to working with home warranty companies and it wasn't a big deal to pass along any info the warranty company would need.

Well...that was a week and a half ago. We ended up spending nearly $13,000 to replace our HVAC, and our warranty company is willing to pay for part of that. However, they need some additional info from Bob Hamilton, and no one from the company will return their calls! I'm told this will likely be a 5 minute or less conversation. I've called multiple times to ask them to get in touch with the warranty company, the home warranty company has called multiple times...NOTHING. I've had conversations with the women who answer their phones on almost a daily basis. I'm repeatedly told that my messages have been relayed. I've been transferred to various voicemail boxes and have left messages. I've wasted a ridiculous amount of time sitting on hold. Both yesterday and today when I called, I was told my message was relayed to the general manager (he'd conveniently left for the day both yesterday and today when I called mid-afternoon). We're at our wits' end. I'm beginning to worry we'll never be able to get reimbursed by our warranty company simply because Bob Hamilton can't be bothered to make a short phone call on our behalf. My husband is actually considering taking time off work tomorrow to go there to hopefully talk to someone in person.

I share all this because maybe it will save others the  headache of working with such an unprofessional and unreliable company. They seemed great at first, but once they had our money - and not a small amount of money - they had ZERO customer service. So disappointed that we chose to work with them. Going forward, I will be steering friends and family as far away as possible from Bob Hamilton.

my mother's refrigerator water line broke and needed to be replaced.  Bob Hamilton was called and they sent someone out. They plumber charged her $531.00 to replace the line.  The entire job consists of getting a part off the truck, unscrewing the old one and attaching the new one, not exactly brain surgery or time consuming.  The plumber left without testing the work and gave her a used part that didn't allow water to flow.  Who knows what kind of nasty stuff could have been running through that used line. I arrived in town to help while my mom recovered from surgery and called Bob Hamilton to talk about 2 issues, first the quality of the work and second, the price, considering the simplistic nature of the fix and the fact that it took around 15 minutes the first time and 6 minutes to fix it again the second time.  Throughout the process, the company was unresponsive, the manager failed to call me back when he said he would and refused to charge a fair price for the completed work.  unless you are into getting sub par work at sky high prices, i would avoid this company at all costs.

Bob Hamilton emergency service is a joke! I've been trying for five hours to get them to respond to a flooding situation which is certain to ruin my furnace, water heater and any personal belongings I leave in the basement. Their 24 hour phone line goes unanswered, after three online chat sessions I still have no response. So, in preparation for the rains to come this evening, I have emptied my basement of personal belongings, prepared for my furnace to be ruined and will call anybody other than Bob Hamilton to resolve the drain issue and to replace the heating and cooling equipment ruined by the flooding

Matt D. from Bob Hamilton came out to do a whole house plumbing check today. He was very thorough and made some great recommendations. Then he came across our 15 year old hot water heater. It's amazing it lasted as long as it did. He gave us a variety of options and let us decide which one fit our needs and budget. Once we decided he got to work. He explained what he would do, roughly how long it would take(except for me interrupting him with questions) and was very clean. He didn't leave a mess. With exception of a new heater you wouldn't know he was here. We will be requesting Matt for all our plumbing needs in the future. Good hire Bob!!

My air conditioner stopped working and I was told by the tech that came out that my capacitor needed to be replaced and possibly the motor as well.  Please keep in mind that you can purchase a capacitor for $26 with tax at a heating and cooling supply store in KC Mo. You can also buy a motor for about $150 at the same location.  (I know this because after the tech left I drove to the aforementioned supply store to see if I couldn't get the parts and fix it myself).  Replacing both of these items would take no more than an hour and a half to two hours at the absolute max.  That being said I was quoted a price for the replacement of the capcitor alone (please sit down if you are faint of heart) of $693.  For the replacement of the capacitor and the motor the figure jumped to (again, please brace yourself) $1094.  Now, assuming they mark up their parts by 100% and they pay their techs $30 an hour the replacement of the capacitor should have only been around $120 not including tax or other fees.  Let's say $200 just to give them the benefit of the doubt. They wanted to charge me almost $500 more than that.  As a woman I'm offended and as a consumer I'm outraged.  Please do not hire these people for any work you may have.

We made the mistake of purchasing a service contract that gave us annual inspections. We were happy with our HVAC inspection, but had some concerns about water pressure so we scheduled the plumbing inspection. Due to heavy rains, we completely understood when the appointment was rescheduled twice. Upon the 3rd reschedule, Jake called us at about noon to say he couldn't make it. I was a little annoyed because we had been waiting around for him, but things happen. We rescheduled a 4th time for 6/18. I waited and waited. Around 2pm, I missed a call. I called the main number back and the agent informed me the call wasn't from the plumber, but we were still on the list. This was the last time we heard from the company. No one ever called to say they had to reschedule or that they couldn't make it. Incredibly rude. I'll take the hint that our business isn't wanted.

Update: Bob Hamilton, to no surprise, has reached out to me to resolve this situation. Unfortunately, you can't refund the time I have wasted and I took my business elsewhere. They have 4 chances to do the work and they didn't. I'm not taking time off of work to give them a 5th chance.

Living in a +100 year old home can be both a blessing and a curse; but usually just the latter.

After our toilets stopped flushing properly, followed by bubbles gurgling up the mainline, we knew we had a problem.  I called around to a few different plumbers and got a quote on the price to snake our line.  One plumber actually referred Bob Hamilton because they were going to be about $50 cheaper and wouldn't charge extra for coming out on a Saturday.  So I gave Bob Hamilton a call.

All of the technicians (and we probably saw nearly everyone on staff) who came to our house were very professional and courteous.  After two failed attempts at snaking our line and running a camera to see what was going on (which was a free service, by the way), we were told we had a very complicated case.  Turns out our master bedroom addition had been built over a house trap from the 50s and it had gone bad.  It was an utter nightmare that we had to pull up our wooden floors and cut away at the subfloor to expose the ancient plumbing.  But the plumber who did the job, Sam D. and his apprentice James were very nice, understanding and professional.  It was obvious they wanted to make absolutely sure they did the job right.

The price for the repair was high, but I didn't think it was unreasonable given the difficultly and magnitiude of the job.  We're talking digging 3' down into sewage-laced dirt in a crawlspace nearly small enough for a grown man to develop claustrophobia.   Sam and James really broke their back working on our home, and my husband and I are extremely grateful.

I would recommend Bob Hamilton to others.  Other reviewers here on Yelp complain about their pricing.  If the price is agreed upon beforehand and the job is done right, then I have no complaints.  If you feel the prices are too high, then take your business elsewhere.  But, if you want a job done on the cheap, then don't be surprised if you get what you pay for.

We got shockingly terrible treatment by Bob Hamilton's HVAC technician yesterday.  We had plumbing work done on Tuesday that was satisfactory (although they quoted a price of $65 for a drain treatment and charged us $79).  Then they called me and told me they were giving free seasonal HVAC inspections.  I looked at the reputation of the company and figured that would be ok.  Letting them near my HVAC was a terrible decision!  The technician turned it off and it never turned on again.  His first recommendation was a whole system repair.  In the end he said that the A/C coils needed cleaning.  That was the extent of his recommendations and we said we'd talk it over and consider the cleaning. Then left without turning our system back on.  We did not realize that it was off until about an hour later when it started getting hot in the house. This was about 1pm and I called immediatley.  At 10pm someone came out and said we had a broken thermostat and it would be over $300 to put a new one in.  The thermostat wasn't broken until the technician turned off the system and did his electrical test.  I was told that only a manager could authorize them to put a new thermostat in without a charge and there was not a manager available to talk to me until Monday.  They disputed that it was the first technician's fault.  My thermostat was less than a year old and had been working perfectly up until the point when the Bob Hamilton employee came out.  To me it seemed crazily coincidental that it would give out right then when they were doing their free service call.  If you're wise you'll stay away from their company and any free offers they have.

They are fine if you're just getting a drain unclogged for $99.  But if you need real work done, their prices are OUTRAGEOUS.  I was quoted $840 for a job that should take less than 3 hours and $40 in parts.  In addition, they let me know if that didn't work, the fix was going to be $3400.

Another time, after a main line cleanup, they scoped the line and said it definitely needed replacing and quoted me $7500 for about 40 feet of line replacement.  That's almost $200 a foot!

Then, when I had them do another line, they followed the exact same path.  Scope the line, it needs to be replaced, $7500.

I think their business model is to use the main line as a loss leader to over charge for any real plumbing work.  I went ahead and paid the $48 for their service call because a real plumber charged me $400 for the work they were going to perform for $840- $3400.

Our main sewer line backed up and we had standing water in our garage.  We called Bob Hamilton and were told they could be at our house in 3 to 4 hours.  Four hours later they called and said they had a snag at their previous job but could still come within the hour.  After 6 hours and 2 more phone calls filled with excuses we rescheduled for the next morning and were told we would be the 2nd house to be seen.  The next morning they called and said they would be at our house between 8:30 and 9:00 am.  Not surprisingly they called at 8:15 to tell me the tech they were sending to my house had called in sick and they would try to get someone to my house before noon.  I don't expect my sewage problem to be the #1 priority for any company, but I do expect enough common courtesy for a company to let me know that it will be days rather than hours before they can really get here so at least I have a choice to find someone that can be here sooner.  Thanks for your dishonesty and for 1 more day of not being able to flush a toilet.

Paul Smith w/Bob Hamilton did a great job diagnosing the problem on our very old shower faucet. He warned us in advance that our faucet was old and may not withstand the pressure of the work required to stop the leak. Unfortunately, that was the case. I will say that the technician that Bob Hamilton sent out on the original job (almost a year ago) was inexperienced, and I don't think we would have been in this same situation if Paul had been sent the first time. I think the job would have been done differently if he had come out. Live and learn. So, my review is primarily based on the work that Paul did this time. He was courteous, knowledgeable, pleasant and explained all of our options. I would use Paul again in a minute.

I had the misfortune of having a plumber here this past week from Bob Hamilton. The fix was way too  pricey and,  without asking,  the plumber used one of my newest clean and folded  bath towels from the linen closet to mop up the water. If that wasn't bad enough he left the towel, full of water, on the floor. He could have at least wrung out the excess water or put the towel in the sink.
Three times I was told a manager would be calling me about this unprofessional and discourteous  service call, but no call has been received.
I will not be using this company again.

Legally & ethically do not know how this company is in business. They surely held true to what we now know as their notorious reputation: dishonest, try to instill a fear factor of issues & upon 2nd opinion their scams are clearly evident. A potential buyers agent, Gail Dicus had Bob Hamilton do inspections on our home. According to BH, Gail signed a document that she was the home owner and authorized BH to do work on our home...As the owners we were not aware nor present. BH said there is a cracked heat exchanger & turned off our heat without approval or notifying us, the home owners. We learned of this late at night when we returned home to a below freezing home & BH refused to return that evening. BH also had no record of ever visiting our home. We pulled our documentation from them and they still couldn't find any record and didn't have a manager/supervisor call us back until 24 hours later....while our house was freezing, heat shut off for no reason other than their mistake. During the 2nd opinion the expert showed us THERE IS NO CRACK & BH's write up to us about the dangerous nature of our heater needing $22K replacement is simply false and not accurate. There is no crack, there is no due diligence, they TURNED our heat OFF based on a mistake on their end and regardless they did work without not only the owners approval but without notifying the owners, had no record of being at our home, left no documentation & still have not remedied anything. During our first personal experience with BH their review stated we needed $1500 in mandatory work. 2nd opinion said it was one wrong size screw, $65 and 2 minutes later. They required their visit fee even after knowing their proposal was dishonest. We naturally said we would never use BH again and to our surprise they inspected our home, dishonestly stated an issue was present that was clearly not, shut off our heat without approval & still have done nothing about it. BH needs to be investigated from a legal perspective ....a marketing budget to generate brand name awareness does no good when you're an unethical, dishonest, fear-factor based, non-customer centric, terrible company. Will be escalating further. Will post their proposal/summary + that of the 2nd opinion on Yelp and broader to display evidence of pure unethical dishonesty.

First - my phone call to set up service, and the work of the person who came to do the work, Marshall, were excellent.  No qualms about these aspects at all.  And Marshall did the work on time, and was obviously experienced and extremely capable.  He was a gentleman and did a thorough and complete job.  What prevents a much higher rating here are two things I am assuming are more at the hands of how the broader company does business.  (1) Up-selling.  I had specific needs and requested certain services.  I was presented with higher priced options - significantly higher priced - with the corresponding reasons I might want to consider those. While I understand the need to always seek new business, for any business, within the context of a specific service call I think that is short sighted.  (It is in my case, anyway.)   (2) Pricing.  I had repair work done for some leaks in two toilets. I had actually done all the disassembly work (or most of it) on one of the toilets (removed all of fill valve and much of the flush valve, part of which was broken off).  The quoted estimate (and final invoicing) to basically put in two new fill and flush valves, and repair a leaky gasket on one of the water lines leading to the tank, was (combined ) $894.00.   I was actually so stunned I couldn't speak.  BUT in fairness, I needed the work done and on the day it was scheduled, so I choose to just do it. And I didn't make a deal of it with the service person as I don't think it's a good idea to do that at the time of service.  But honestly - I believe I could have had two new toilets delivered and installed for that price!!!!  I had heard rumblings that Bob Hamilton was very high priced but since I had used them years before to snake out a shower drain (and they were quick, efficient, and the price seemed ok at that that time) I went with them on this job.  But perhaps this is a bit of a philosophy when working in certain area codes (Johnson County?) that allows for these higher prices to be a way of doing business. When I see some other reviews I notice some negotiated lower price offers after not liking the initial estimate. I was not aware they operated that way either, but maybe that's my own shortcoming. The guys like me who take the higher price on the spot fund those who get a better deal I guess. It has me thinking hard about how I do this in the future, for sure.

So, again - separate from the excellent work and professionalism of the man who did the work - the two practices I mention above were at odds with what I would need to put this contractor in my go to list for future work. And while they got the price they asked for on this job, the error in what may be their overall company philosophy is that I won't be a long term customer, which I might have been for the quality of the work and the character of the person doing it, as both were excellent, in my view.    OVERALL: Good solid work done; excellent person doing the work -but attempts at up-selling and excessively high pricing of services (in my view) were a big negative for me.  I likely won't be calling Bob Hamilton again.

Have used them in the past to fix a broken sewer connection and received fast and excellent service. However, when I called them to install a refrigerator water line the service tech quoted $700 for the parts and labor. I refused, he countered with $390. I still said no, and then the job got done for half that price. I am thoroughly disappointed with the haggling I had to do for this simple 30 minute job. The sad thing is that some customers might have paid the cost of a fridge just to get five feet of line installed with a shutoff valve. Very disappointing.

July 2013 update... I had to call them out on the sewer line repair from 2010. They honored the lifetime warrantee and fixed again for free. Bumped them up 1 star for the display of customer care and integrity.

Incredibly disappointed in this company! I scheduled an appointment to have a clogged drain in a bathtub full of dirty water cleared 4 days ago. Due to the cold weather and the fact that I knew they were dealing with other customers and frozen pipes 4 days seemed realistic. They called this morning and stated they would be by today to clear the drain. It is now 4:30 in the afternoon and I received another call stating they would need to reschedule for the 22nd 6 days from now. If I wanted to find someone else that would be ok with them. Completely unacceptable! When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told they are all out in the field. I asked for a phone number and was told they didn't have one but they could give me an email. Again this us unacceptable!  If you schedule an appointment then you should meet that obligation. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

Sunday I was away for an hour and came back to find a message from them that the tech was close and please call them back. I did and there no record of my calls! Bobs service sucks! HORRIBLE SERVICE AND COMPANY!!  Takes 2-3 days for a tech to get out (not sure how that's a 24/7 service or why I should have to call more than once) tech comes and cleans kitchen drain... charges close to $400 for said service leaves the joints loose from the auger, water under the sink and horrible black fingerprints everywhere! Only for it to clog again within literally 5 days!  Call back and the office (super friendly) says no service fee... wait hours for tech to call before coming saying there IS a service fee and proceeded to tell me how does he know noodles weren't shoved down there... needless to say I asked him to please NOT come out and called another company who will guarantee their work past 5 days and get my tenants back in working order!
**Being a real estate agent this is a company I will STOP recommending to clients!

We had a leaking shower faucet.  We replaced the washers and springs, but it was still leaking.  We called Bob Hamilton Plumbing to fix the leaking faucet.  It was afterhours, so we knew it would be more expensive that normal, but we never in our wildest dreams anticipated an invoice for $642.97.  The plumber arrived at 9:25 pm and left at 9:50 pm.  He only rearranged the washers and springs that my husband put in backwards.  I called the office to question the invoice, and the customer service person said they would have managment contact me in the next 24 to 48 hours.  I told the customer service operator that I needed to speak to management now, but he said that is not their normal policy.

Guy that came to the home was useless. Pretended to make calls to his supervisor about our issue and then passes the bad news to us. That they can't do anything.  The guy did not even open up the ac unit to check it out. He put a tiny thing in front of our vents and said the only option here is to upgrade systems, which will be about $4000
Totally disappointed and will never call bob again. Can't wait to see another commercial so I can talk bad about them to whoever I am with.

I did not know how much they cost until several days later I found out they only cost @ $25! I do not recommend them too anyone unless you like getting taken advantage of!

It's probably not fair to rate a business who has not performed work for me. That being said, it wasn't like I didn't try.

I had called a few plumbers to get a quote for fixing an outdoor spigot that was broken. I work right down the street from Bob Hamilton Plumbing and decided to stop in to see if they could give me an estimate too.

The woman who answered the door looked at me like I was trying to rob the store. I'm not kidding! She glared at me like I had 3 eyes and snarled. She said, We have to come out to give an estimate, and would NOT even give me a ballpark figure. Folks, we are talking about one measly spigot here -- 2 other plumbers were able to give me a general figure just by asking a few questions like if my basement was finished or not.

Bob Hamilton plumbing must not want the business. Sad.

We had services that we required at two locations, the operator moved the appointment for the location were they would be paid one day later to avoid conflicts with billing. When the plumber arrived they informed us that there was nothing about this in the notes and that it was not possible because the services we were getting were two different departments. They then proceeded to charge $850 to install a toilet we had already purchased. The next day they came to the second location and informed us hat they did not have the replacement bulb available for the UV anti-microbial lamp they had installed 2 years earlier. They tried to feed me a line of BS that the current bulb wile working was at reduced effectiveness- I'm an electrical engineer and could explain exactly how the bulb works. They spent the entire visit, which was an unnecessary visit had the operator looked up our customer history, trying to sell unnecessary goods and services. This company has really gone downhill in the last couple of years, and I will be looking for a new company with which to do business.

I cannot in good consciousness recommend Bob Hamilton Plumbing to anyone and won't. BHP does not follow up with publicly stated commitment to customer satisfaction. A failure to adequately complete the backfill process of connecting my house line to the city sewer has and continues to cost me in excess of $1000. The projection to fix the worsening problem is as much or more. I have to hire a separate company to fix the inadequate result I was left with. This is on top of the very expensive bill for the original work. I have sent pictures and messages. I was informed by BHP that the company that attempted the first fix should have been professional enough to know if the backfill was good. That statement was insulting to me and the professional company I have used many times. Shouldn't the company that did the backfill have the professionalism to know when they have done it correctly?  I have since been completely ignored. Very poor performance and I am very unsatisfied. I wasn't even asking them to pay for it. Just chip in to help out. HUGE integrity issue with BHP.

Ok so I posted a picture of the little piece of pipe that the BH plumber who came out put in my drain. BH Plumbing is trying to claim that was in there from before, but that's not true. It was a small leak when we called which turned into a total blockage when BH announced they needed to replace the whole pipe. When I called another plumber, they found the piece of pipe. I don't believe that was in there to begin with because then the guy from BH would have found it and that would have solved the problem, but your guy didn't find it. That's because he put it there.

Had to call in the professionals today to investigate an intermittent leak - Charles arrived promptly as he was dispatched, talked me through the process and problem, told me up front what the cost could potentially be JUST for the diagnosis, and set about his work.  He was able to discern fairly quickly that it wasn't an actual plumbing problem, but was likely just a leaky shower door that was causing our headaches.  He was courteous and professional, and was even able to charge me less than what he estimated due to the nature of the call!  All in all, a very well done job by Charles and the pros at Bob Hamilton today!

I called Bob Hamilton because our Central Air was not blowing cold air.  They were quick to return my call and get a technician to my house.  I was not at home when the tech arrived and they were suppose to call me before they did any major services.  A little while later I got a call from the tech about why my central air was not working properly and that my heating system needed replaced too!  I never authorized or asked for any services other than to find out why my central air wasn't blowing cold air.  The tech told me the cost of the services he provided was $449, but that money would be taken off of the cost to replace the unit.  My first mistake was not doing research on them...my second mistake was paying that service fee.  They sent a guy to us to evaluate what it would cost to replace the unit.  They were pushing hard for us to replace the entire HVAC system.  Their bid was very high.  By this time I'm skeptical so I get other bids.  We got Air Summit to come replace the central air with an equal efficiency unit and saved $1300...even after paying Bob Hamilton that unauthorized $449 service fee.  Lesson learned...do some research.

We've used Bob Hamilton for years.  We always knew they were probably the most expensive plumber in the area, but it was OK.

But, we're finished with them.

5 years ago they installed a very expensive sleeve in our sewer line--lifetime guarantee on the liner.  Since then, the 65 years-old sewer pipe sank to the point of being unusable, making the liner useless.

We think that a professional plumbing company should have recommended that the (then) 60 years-old sewer line be replaced.  So now the very expensive band-aid has been hauled off with the old pipe and an almost-as-expensive new sewer line is in place.  We will NEVER do business with them again and certainly will never recommend them to anyone else.

And now that the actual Bob Hamilton has sold the company and is running as a trump-lover for US Senator from Kansas, we for SURE do not want his name & picture on our street.

I had 2 different plumbers sent out who unsuccessfully snaked a drain in my basement. The first plumber left without the issue solved and told me to go buy drain-o after charging me almost 400 bucks. The second plumber they sent out told me the drain pipes weren't connected right and said I should contact the seller of my house. Bob Hamilton failed at fixing my plumbing issue all while still charging me and saying well we tried.....horrible service would never use again.

We scheduled an appointment to have a plumber provide a quote for a remodel. While waiting for the plumber to arrive, we receive a call stating he isn't going to be able to make it because he's caught up on another job. I understand jobs run over; however, cancelling instead of showing late and asking us to initiate rescheduling isn't great service.

Second problem:  we call and reschedule for the following week, 8am - 12pm appointment. I wait, nobody shows or calls by 1pm. I call the office and find out nobody rescheduled the appointment. Mistakes happen, I receive an apology and promise that someone will be out today.

Third problem:  four hours later, 5pm, I receive a call stating none of they can't find someone to dispatch and none of the plumbers want to stay past shift. I am asked to reschedule again. Best of luck to anyone who tries making an appointment!

I will NEVER use Bob Hamilton again. They are liars and thieves. I had them come out to check out my main line. They proceeded to show me what I thought was video of my pipes, showing a giant crack in my main line right underneath the house. They then quoted me an outrageous price. I got a second opinion and he couldn't find it anywhere with his camera because the crack didn't exist. Turns out, Bob Hamilton had recorded video of someone else's pipes and tried to sell that as my house's pipes. Unbelievable. I'm sure they thought they could take advantage of a 24 year old woman. I would never recommend this company.  I called them due to my toilet having issues.  Bob Hamilton stated that the mainline needed to be replaced so I paid the $4698.00 to replace the mainline.  The toilet still was not working but if I paid an additional $850.00 for an interior jetting that would fix the problem....toilet is still not working.  That is a lot of money to spend not to have the issue fixed.  Now I have to pay another company $800.00 to fix the original problem.  I believe that Bob Hamilton's recommended services that were more pricey and that did not need to be done.  I feel that they took advantage of me.  Bob Hamilton's was kind enough to state that they would come out again for an additional $4200.00 to fix the original issues causing the toilet not to flush correctly.

Definitley not happy with Bob Hamilton services. I purchased a brand new AC unit from them roughly a month ago and had them install it.  A couple weeks after install, it started blowing warm air. Called them out, said they fixed it and went on their way. A week later it started doing it again.  Long story short I've had 3 of their techs out and the problem still isn't fixed.  Not to mention the last one that came out, said it was installed incorrectly.  Meanwhile my family and I suffer from their poor service!!  It's getting to the point where I'm thinking about calling KCTV5 to try and get something done. Ridiculous!

This place is SHADY.  I will never use them again and am telling everyone I meet, never use them.  I had them out to replace and install 2 new sinks.  It was my bad that I didn't take time to get another quote but being in a hurry I just went with them as they are a name brand in KC.  The bill for the two sinks was $1650.  Again I should have told them to leave but.....   One would think that for that price I would have gotten great service.  But ALAS, I did not.  They told me that my old kitchen faucet was broken (didn't seem like it but they are the experts).  Of course, they had some in their truck.  One was going for $550 and the other $650.  At that point, I started to get panicky over possible shadiness on their part.  I rushed to Home Depot and bought one for $100.   Upon leaving I asked them to make sure the garbage disposal was working.  When the turned it on it made a loud banging sound like something was in it.  I asked them to check.  They pointed a flashlight in the drain and reported that nothing was in it.  They said something must have fallen deeper.  My choices were to run ice to see if it unlodged whatever was in it or get a new one.  Of course, they had one in their van for $385.  At that point, I just asked them to leave.  As soon as they had pulled away an electrician working in the house put his flashlight in the drain and pulled out a screw.  Later on, I found that the water was not connected back the dishwasher. I considered that part of the extortionate fee of replacing the sink.  I made them come back and turn on the water.   They did but not without a we should have charged you for this fee speech.  Slimy, slimy, slimy.

My main sewer line backed up so I called Bob Hamilton out to take care of it.  They charged me $99 to come out and run the line.  As part of their Main Line Special they sent someone out a few days later to do a free camera inspection on the line.

The camera tech informed me that my line was impassible and would need to be replaced using pipe bursting.  He sent me a quote for $7,100 to replace the line.  I decided to wait and see how long it was before the issue reoccurred before rushing to replace it.

A couple weeks later the line backed up again and Bob Hamilton sent someone else out at no cost to run the line again, apparently they offer a one time no charge warranty visit.

I decided to get a second opinion before spending over $7K in repairs so I had A-1 Sewer come out to do a camera inspection on the line.  They found that the line was almost completely blocked with roots only 16' out, they also left me a copy of the DVD.

This video was taken 5 days after the second visit from Bob Hamilton (youtube.com/watch?v=HEtZ…).  I was shocked to see it so clogged after the Bob Hamilton tech was just out, it was sure to clog again soon in this state.

The diagnosis from A-1 was that the line had not been properly cleared using an appropriate diameter blade and needed to be properly cleared with a 3 blade.  Bob Hamilton must have used a very small diameter tool when they cleaned my line.  A-1 sewer ran the line with a 3 blade and I haven't had the problem reoccur yet.

Bob Hamilton only seemed interested in doing the least amount of work possible to make the line drain so they can send out their camera guy to sell a whole new sewer line.  I'm sure it's much more profitable to sell new lines than provide regular maintenance for root removal.

My advice to anyone with sewer issues is make sure your line is being properly cleared with the right size tool, and always get a hard copy if the video if you have a camera inspection done.  Also, get a second opinion so you can make a more educated decision, I'm sure glad I did.

Are there negative stars? Bob Hamilton Plumbing is a total rip off.  We called for a kitchen faucet leak.  They diagnosed the problem as an O seal and cartridge (a $25 part at Home Depot).  They looked in a big book, whispered to each other (there were two guys) and quoted a price of $400, plus their $48 appearance fee.  I strongly said no way.  Then I was asked what I had expected to pay and I said maybe $150.  We settled on $250 and I'm mad I agreed.  The job took less than 5 minutes. A completely dishonest transaction.  I will never use them again.

Had a clogged main drain.  Called bhp and they promply came out with a large snake machine. After about 30 to 45 minutes of snaking our drain they came to the conclusion that the drain was collapsed about midway through the yard. At that point they called a gentleman, I'll call him the closer, to use a video camera to then inspect the line so that I could be assured that the drain was absolutely collapsed. He started putting the hard-sell on me for a $7000 repair replacing the entire line to the street.
I was almost ready to drop the 7000 because we had no drainage for the entire house. we were kind of in a corner and I think he knew that. I got cold feet fortunately and decided to call another plumber for a second opinion. Within about 30 to 45 minutes the second plumber had the drain completely opened for $150. So in conclusion using Bob Hamilton plumbing almost cost me $6850 more than it should have to fix our drainage problem.
I'm not sure if they were trying to scam me or if they just just made a bad call.  All I know is that I can't afford to hire a professional that shoots straight for the $7000 repair that destroys my yard in the process.

We have had Bob Hamilton for almost 18 years.

Electricians are excellent. Mario / Corky 5 stars!

The plumbers are great and though we have had a bad experience with one before, he is no longer with the company.

Receptionist are always sweet and send good reminders!

I had previously given 3 stars due to a very bad experience with a plumber and his manager but I had to update the review as my last couple of years have been excellent! In fact we have a very competent electrician working on our lights right now!

Had a condensation problem around my furnace/water heater flue pipe exiting out the chimney behind my wood burning stove.  When the Tech got to my home, I found that he had no experience in dealing with a condensate problem such as this.  In the first place, I have to ask, why would professionals like BH send such an unqualified individual out to my home?  The Tech then proceeds to tell me that his assertion of the problem is no cover on furnace/water heater flue exhaust out the chimney and that rain is causing the water to collect in the flue pipe.  Not only have we not had any rain/snow over the past days, I guess the Guy is blind as you can walk out in my backyard and clearly see the furnace/water heater flue has a rectangular roof 6 above it.  So he calls the Office and finally concludes that the fix would be wrapping insulation around the flue pipe up in the attic.  I kept trying to tell him that the flue is in the chimney and that it is not just a simple fix of placing insulation around the flue pipe.  This is a new furnace that was installed by BH last summer and it seems that the Tech should have at least investigated into furnace settings.  The Tech never opened the furnace and looked at the burner settings, never checked to see if the flue was blocked, never checked exhaust gas readings to determine moisture content of exiting gases, but I am still paying them their $70 charge to assess my problem.  According to the girls that answer the phone at BH, the $70 is for the Tech's training/experience/knowledge.  Go Figure!!!

We had plumbing and electrical damage to the bathroom and laundry room.  Their master electrician and plumber came out to give an estimate.  They missed listing the damaged tub in their estimate as well as the broken outlet for the washing machine.  This was an insurance claim and it turned into a big hassle to get the correct information from Bob Hamilton to submit to our insurance company.  They have yet to send me an updated estimate for plumbing.  Needless to say, they lost this sale, we hired another company that was with it.  Also Bob Hamilton is over priced.

I called them at 1:30 to schedule service for my bathroom sink that wouldn't drain. They told me they could come out that day and at 1:55 they were calling to tell me they were ready to dispatch someone to my house! Took them less than 20 minutes to complete the work and it comes with a 30 day warranty. They were very polite and professional. I hadn't explored price comparisons so I can't tell you if they were high/low/average priced, but I think when it comes to plumbing you expect a little bit of change to go in to that bill. Appreciate the speed of service and the fact that I now have a functioning bathroom sink again!

We called Bob Hamilton to disconnect us from the septic tank and put new sewer drain lines from the house out to the road. With this old house built in 1951 the rule is expect the unexpected. Jared operated the backhoe very professional and  Chris had to go under the house in the crawl space. They both used detailed workmanship running the new lines down thru the old lines. And everything went great until the end. There was an unexpected additional septic tank in the system that no one was aware of and when the backhoe went over it, it collapsed. And this is why we hire Bob Hamilton for everything we need here...they stood by their work, drained the additional septic tank and filled it with rock, and put top soil and grass seed on top to make it right for us at no extra charge. We trust them to do the right thing for our home and they always have!

The electrical system is our next big project and we will call Bob Hamilton again, knowing they will do the right thing even though we expect the unexpected in this old house.

This company charged my 90 year old mother $750.00 to change a toilet part that cost $18.00 and only took 30 minutes. I have heard a similar story from hundreds of neighbors and friends. I wonder if anyone has used this company more than 1 time. I don't think so. I don't even trust radio stations that they advertise on. My mother passed away this year and now every time I hear that 913 jingle I get mad. Don't remember the 913 unless you want to pay 300% more for 50% of the job.

Bob Hamilton came to auger and video scope our Main sewer line. They had said that the main line was clear of debris and fine condition based on their inspection from the scope. We had to have a different company come out and pay another fee to have our scoped because the people buying our house wanted the actual video and Bob Hamilton does not provide that. The second company that came out found that part of our main sewer line had collapsed and now we have to re-place that portion of the line. Bob Hamilton never reported this to be an issue. So not only did we waste $150 on their inspection but their inspection wasn't even accurate.

We accepted an offer on our house in March, 2015 in south KC, and the prospective buyers then hired Bob Hamilton to perform a drain inspection on the property.  Hamilton claimed the main drain was inundated with roots and needed a $7,500 replacement.  We had a contract in place for drain and water main insurance through the Kansas City Water department.  We filed a claim on the insurance, and the insurance adjuster they sent out advised us the findings Bob Jones submitted to the realtor were fraudulent.  It didn't prevent us from reaching a sales agreement or closing on the house, but the whole experience left me wondering how Bob Hamilton remained in business.  Some 8 years later, I see not a thing has changed based on other Yelp reviews.   Seems like Bob Hamilton and most of his employees ought to be doing time in a penitentiary for preying on the elderly, along with all of the other fraudulent activity reported here.  How is it these guys are still in business????

My elderly Mother called Bob Hamilton Heating/Cooling to change out the kitchen faucet (she purchased the new faucet herself) and some minor repair on the bathroom faucet(parts didn't total up to $50).  Took the man barely over 3 hours to complete the job and they were wanting to charge her over $1000!!!  Again, keep in mind she provided the new faucet herself.  He wouldn't give her a receipt/invoice because he said his computer died.  When finally found out what was on the invoice after payment, he showed he worked on her toilet for the tune of $275....HE DIDN'T WORK ON HER TOILET!  Can we say rip off!  CONSUMER BEWARE - they charge way, way too much and don't seem to be on the up and up.  You're paying for all of their advertising on TV and their fancy trucks.  He was also trying to sell my Mother a furnace check-up for $90+ because he said he smelled gas.  Long story short, no gas leak and our guess is he was trying to run up cost for things that didn't need to be fixed.  Stay clear of this company.

BHP Technician Paul S. was very professional, courteous and did a great job on my toilet repair.  I will definitely use BHP again for all of my future plumbing needs.  They are quick, clean and competatively priced.  Very happy with their work!

False advertising to bait and switch ... advertise one price with no restrictions then raise once on site ... also doesn't specify homeowners only rates and up-charges exact same service of its an investment property. BAD BUSINESS

First time we called Bob Hamilton our AC had died, just a couple years old.  They did not install it.  Charged me $80 for a service call, which seems fair.  They found a defective part which had a history of failure on this unit, came back the next day and replaced the part for no charge for second visit and no charge for the part.

Now our drain clogs.  Called another guy who spent three days not finding time to call back or visit.  Called Bob Hamilton.  They are as professional as they come; they call you when they have an idea when the guy might come, then they call again when he's on the way and tell you who it will be.  Then they show up exactly on time.

Others clean drain for $99.  Bob Hamilton, as several mention, cleans the drain and then sends a guy to run a camera down it for free.  I'm sure this is often a good chance for them to sell an expensive repair, even though that seems to upset some folks.

My guy ran the camera, and found that it's a terrible fit attaching to the city's clay pipe.  The plumber told him the blade went 70 feet then hit a dead end.  Camera went 70 feet and we could clearly see it's a small passage.  Told me digging it up would be about $3600, and if the clay pipe was bad, could be up to $6000 to fix it all.

However, he wasn't making it up; I can see for myself what the problem is, on his camera.  And he didn't pressure me at all to do the work.  He told me to just let it go for a year or two and see how often I have to call to have them poke a hole in the backup.  Like he said, if it becomes a problem and I have to call four or five times a year, I might consider having the work done, or I could just continue to have it cleared whenever it clogs.

He also checked with the city and explained to me exactly what they can and can't and will and won't do.  It is the city's connection, but he says they won't come until it's completely failed.

Plumber cleaned everything out fine;  I suppose it's possible that some other plumber might have used a bigger blade, like some reviews say, but it works now.

Camera guy explained all my options clearly, lots of good info, and didn't put any pressure on me to make a decision.

People say they're not the cheapest, but $80 for a two-trip AC repair and $99 for cleanout AND follow-up camera run seems reasonable to me.

I doubt I will ever use these guys again. I felt like the service guy was trying to take advantage of me. From reading many of the reviews, I think they make the bulk of their steady cash flow by making initial service calls and if they happen to get someone on the hook for the quote they make out big time and laugh all the way to the bank.
The service tech was prompt, clean and polite when he showed up for the service call. The service call was $79.00 The problem was the fan would not shut off and it turned out to be the fan limit switch. The part is held on by up to 4 easily accessible screws and had 4 wire connections. A no brainer part swap out job. The service tech said he didn't have the part on the truck but had a quote to fix it. (This is where it gets good)
He quoted me $577.00 as a flat rate price for the repair. I told him I had expected quite a bit lower of a price. He told me he had to make a living. I told him that I get that but the part was only $100.00 and I didn't see how the labor for such an easy job should justify a 477.00 labor charge. He then said the price included the price for gas to pick the part up and because it was a flat rate, it wouldn't cost me anymore than that, no matter how long it took. Then he just stood there with his laptop waiting for me so OK and sign for the repair or something. Was he serious? It's literally a 15 minute job and the part store is 30 minutes away, MAX! I know he didn't have to but he didn't offer any alternative to the repair such as I could do it myself to save money or negotiate his price in the slightest. I thanked him for the service call and diagnoses and paid him. I then went and bought the part myself and installed it with no issues in 15 minutes (like I  said earlier). I guess I'll count myself lucky that I'm able to handle the repairs after a diagnosis puts me on the right track when I'm stumped on something. And remember, you can find out how to fix or how long it should take to fix almost anything on YouTube.

Great response rate- they want your money and charge very high rates!! Nice workers, but is it worth charging for the following? I had two toilets that had a bit of a wobble- they pulled them up put on new wax rings and new supply lines (they said they had to because its their policy even though the originals were in good shape) and charged me just under 1000 dollars.  Mind you.. no new toilet, just original toilet and the repairs listed above. Service was awesome- but the charges and fees are way too high. I will be using other plumbing services in the future.

I had a major backup that left the basement covered in 2 inches of water. They sent a technician  right away and he got the drain cleared. The water restoration company was then able to pump the rest out and clean up. I was so relieved that they could come so fast.

Wayyyy overpriced.. Wanted $243.99 for a simple kitchen drain to get unplugged. Price to change out the faucet on the sink (when I already had a faucet) $399.00. To add further insult it cost me $48.00 to find out how much the above was going to cost..

Be warned!!

I contacted Bob Hamilton Plumbing after reviewing Nextdoor (Westwood Park's social media site) recommendations; 7 out of 12 neighbors highly recommended Bob H. for their $99 flat fee to clear/inspect the main line. From the moment I called, they answer their phone How can we make you smile? I thought ... by offering good, honest and inexpensive (reasonable) fees.

The first guy they sent out was an incompetent idiot who showed up at 7:30 p.m. and was just lollygagging ... he kept making up lame excusing why he wouldn't be able to get the bit and auger to clear the pipe.  He told me he would have to come back the next day and run the auger from my main floor toilet ... which made no sense to me because it was obvious the problem was in the basement floor via the main sewer line.

After he left, he called an hour later to tell me he had spoken to his supervisor who told him that there was no need to go through the toilet upstairs. At that point I was concerned about the competency level of the company's techs. I called Bob H.'s customer service and told them to send another tech -- one that was experienced and knows what the hell he's doing. I guess this guy was still in training and had only been with the company 3 weeks. NOTE: This was a close call, 'cause I was ready to call another company.

I figured, I would give the company a second chance because they were highly recommended by many people on Nextdoor.

The next day Hunter Hamilton showed up to inspect the main line with his camera before the tech (auger guy) showed up. At that point, I was impressed with his knowledge, professionalism and his attention to detail. Both he and the tech spent more than 2 1/2 hours trying to clear the line and making sure that I indeed had a problem.

After many attempts to clear the line, both the auger and camera line kept getting stuck in a particular spot/area in the front yard. It turned out that the clay pipe (house built in 1926) had collapsed due to tap roots going through it. Apparently the sewer had been seeping through the grown for many years.

At first Bob H. offered a spot repair to take care of the collapsed pipe, but they did inform me that from that point on to the city line there may be another area/s of blockage and or damage. I'm glad I opted to replace the entire line instead of just a portion of i the entire sewer line to be replaced because we would not have found the blockage in the city lines.

Immediately after they started the work to replace the sewer line, we discovered that I had two original clay pipes running from the house to the main (city) line. One was a foundation drain and the other was the main sewer line. Not only did the sewer line collapsed 15' from the house; but, the two main city lines/pipes were 100% blocked with tap roots, soil, etc. which meant that --who know for how long these lines had been completely blocked.

I was at home/on-site from the moment the crew first showed up until the very end. Watching and asking a million questions about what they were doing, their plan of action, etc. All I can say is I could not have had better service ... from A-Z. The cordial, attentiveness and attention to detail was unbelievable!

I felt, they truly cared about doing a superb job (not damaging my yard); not cutting corners, triple checking their work and making sure the customer was completely satisfied.

When I knew and had decided to replace the entire sewer line, and it would be a costly expense; I got three other estimates from reputable companies -- a few were lower and one was higher than Bob H. but after having experience their (Bob Hamilton's) level of expertise and customer service (for 4 consecutive days) ... I knew I would be making a wise decision by contracting them vs another plumbing company.

I am glad I made the right decision. They weren't the cheapest but in my opinion I got the BEST!

I found out this is a family owned business and they take great pride in their work. I don't think they want a one-time customer ... they want a customer for life! They offer many other services and it's not in their best interest not give the best service possible; so in the future, you'll call Bob Hamilton for your plumbing needs, and recommend them to others.

Happy and extremely grateful customer in Kansas City (Westwood Park).

I had a really excellent experience with Bob Hamilton.  The techs are courteous and professional, and they responded to my call quickly.  As far as the comments regarding pricing--'you get what you pay for' people.  If you want a job done well, you sometimes pay a little more for it.

My daughter called Bob Hamilton plumbing for an estimate.  they came out and looked at her ceiling said it was full of water and when she showed them where the water shut off was they said that it wasn't it and they would come back the next day after she found it.  so they came back the next day and still said that it was not the shut off but where able to work on her leak anyway. they quoted her 425$ and hour so I called the main office and asked if this was correct.  They said no so we had them do the work. when the tech did the bill they charged us 425$ hr for the work and charged us for 3hrs of work that only took 2 hours also charged us for the call out the day before when it was supposed to be a free estimate all they did that day was look at the ceiling and the water shut off charged 400 $ for that. My husband called and talked with the manager while the tech was there and the manager said that that was not the right pricing that they don't charge by the hour.  the tech heard this but still would not change the bill he said the manager didn't know what he was working on so we had to  paid the bill. They charged us 1300.00 for two hours of work with no parts.  I will never call this company to work on anything for me again and will tell everyone I know to never use this company.  I called the next and filed a complaint and they had a customer service person call but they called my daughter instead of me.  I called back early this morning and 2 1/2 hours later I still have not received a call back.  Never Never again will I use this company!!!!

Got the $99 main drain and camera deal. Upon camera inspection I was told my main line was definitely broken and would be backing up again soon! Quoted that it would need to be replaced at a cost of $3,500 minimum up to $8,9XX. I got a second opinion and had the line cleaned out again with another camera inspection. Low and behold the line looks great and doesnt have any breaks in it. The second opinion cost me $220 and saved me thousands on work I didnt need done. Always get a second (or third opinion) and don't trust these guys.

Furnace went out on us... would blow air but it was not warm. My husband called Bob Hamilton. We figured a company this big would have lots of workers and be fast. Well, we waited several hours for someone to show up. When one did he was nice and checked things out but didn't seem too thrilled about me wanting to watch and learn a little about the furnace.  He tinkered around with the furnace for a while and went out to his truck to prepare a quote. He came back in with 3 options for me. Option 1... Fix it for today... he called it a band-aid fix and told me that I might get another year out of it before something else major goes wrong... cost? $946.  Option 2... Have a bunch of stuff rebuilt for $3600 or Option 3... replace the furnace which would start at $4000. I was not thrilled with any of the options. I did not believe that what could be wrong was going to cost THAT much to fix. There was also a tube that had come loose and he told me that carbon monoxide was leaking from the tube whenever the furnace is running. Despite the fact that I was freezing and wanted my furnace fixed I paid him the $79 and told him I would like to get a second opinion if I was going to be spending anywhere near $1000.  He said ok and tapped around on his ipad for like 20 minutes... just standing there in my house... kinda strange. I called another company and they came out within 20 minutes which was impressive, and the part that needed to be replaced to get the furnace running was a $50 part!! Nothing needed to be rebuilt, I just needed a switch replaced and that is what got the furnace running, the tube needs fixed but didn't have anything to do with the fact that the furnace was not working. That tube that was leaking carbon monoxide was actually a drain tube that was supposed to be helping with condensation in the unit which explained the rusty spot beneath the broken tube. This second guy that I had come out said that there's a chance that a little bit of carbon monoxide could come out of there but it was pretty unlikely and was not concerned about it. I kinda feel like the Bob Hamilton worker was trying to scare me into spending all that money.  So... bottom line... I blew $80 bucks on the Bob Hamilton guy coming out but by not going with him I ended up saving our family HUNDREDS of dollars... I also gained the knowledge to never call them again.  Bob Hamilton just lost all my trust and I would NEVER refer anyone to them... I would, however, refer to Midwest Heating and Cooling.

I called Bob Hamilton after my heater quit working.  They told me the heat exchanger on my furnace had a crack in it.  Then this salesman shows up telling me these options for buying a brand new furnace (thousands of dollars).  I got another HVAC outfit for a 2nd opinion, they replaced the blower motor checked out the heat exchanger said there's not a darn thing wrong with it and i've got heat in the house again.  Do not use these people, if you do get a 2nd estimate/opinion.

Their techs won't fix your furnace, they'll tell you your stuff is too far gone to mend and try to upsell you into a whole new system.  They tried to lead me to believe that my furnace was in a catastrophically dangerous condition, then turned me over to the tender mercies of a sales rep who proceeded to try to sell me between $20,000 and $30,000 worth of HVAC and ductwork upgrades.

The part to repair my furnace turned out to cost $200.  While my furnace is, indeed, 22 years old, it's still got plenty of decent years in it.

These bozos are con artists, short and simple.

Slow running kitchen faucet and dishwasher evidently not draining properly which leaves particles on washed dishes.  Likely a drain issue.  Plumber arrived as agreed upon.  The scheduler at their main office sent the plumber out to clear our main line - not the issue and then I'm told this plumber didn't have the right equipment to do that anyway.  Showed him the issues. All was now going to be wonderful!

Replaced three water shutoff valves under the sink.  Ran the empty dishwasher through a cycle and called that good.  Kitchen sink faucet is now completely plugged. No water flow at all. Offered to install a new faucet for a little over $1000 but couldn't guarantee that would fix the problem, and that was after charging me over $400 to install three shutoff valves which I could have done myself for $25 in valves and a half hour of my time

Nice enough young man but I'm done with BHP.  Their dog must be eating caviar and fillet mignon.

I called Bob Hamilton Plumbing because I have a kitchen sink faucet leaking and a undermount kitchen sink that is needs to be removed from my granite countertop and the area around the countertop and sink needs to be cleaned up and resealed and installed. The tech said that the faucet was tight under the sink and asked me if I wanted him to silicone around the base of the faucet, which I had already did. Thinking I may have not put enough silicone around it, he remove what I had put on and applied his silicone and made a complete mess around the faucet. He told me I needed to contact the countertop installer to get the sink installed again. All of his statements were like he didn't want to do it. I know it can be done but requires 2 people.
I knew there would be a trip charge which I didn't mind paying, but to charge me, which he called a level 1 diagnostic fee. It seemed to me either he didn't know what he was doing or just didn't want to do it. so I paid quite a bit for nothing but new silicone which can be bought for around 10.00.

WORST customer service of my life! These people are worthless! Called when my heat went out and they sent a tech out to fix it. The furnace was giving us an error code and the heat just wouldn't kick on. Walt Renshaw was the tech who came to my house and he was possibly the rudest technician I've ever dealt with in any company I've used. He didn't tell us anything he was doing came down to him replacing the thermostat which we didn't really believe was the issue but hey he's the professional right? 2 days later heat is out once again because Walt's thermostat fix clearly wasn't the answer. They sent someone out again but made us wait 9 hours in the freezing cold -15 wind chill. When I opened the door to see Walt Renshaw there again I knew my problem still wouldn't be fixed. He didn't even greet me just walked in and got on the phone with someone. He clearly didn't know what to do and had to ask this other person what to do. Then without saying anything to us to let us know what was going on he went outside leaving the front door wide open. We have an infant in our house and he just leaves he door open letting all of that freezing cold air in our already cold house. He was gone for 20 minutes without us having a clue what was happening. Came back in with another tech who wasn't even in a uniform and didn't seem like he was supposed to be there. Listened to the one without uniform tell Walt how he only helps him and one other person at the company and he won't even put new techs numbers in his phone because he wouldn't answer them anyway. SO UNPROFESSIONAL! These two guys supposedly fixed our problem and now two days later we are without heat again. It's even colder today and when I called the company I was told they cannot send anyone out today even though they have been out twice this week and not fixed the problem yet! Most worthless company ever! Do not use them!

I needed to have my bathtub spout nipple replaced and I was originally quoted $650 because the technician thought that he would have to open up the wall to take the piece out as it was rusted. After he realized all he had to do is unscrew it and put in a new nipple which cost about two dollars at the hardware store, I was still charged $633 for the visit I tried to get him to go down and he wouldn't budge so I went ahead and signed just because I needed to take a bath. I called Bob Hamilton and they were giving me a 50% refund but still 317 is Way too much to just put in a two dollar nipple! Awful way to take advantage of a single mom.

Update....the business manager gave me a great deal of my money back. I appreciate that and believe that I was just taken advantage of by the technician.

Update #2...they are trying to get me to take down this review. Not classy. I went up two stars for them now I'm taking one away. Be careful people.

It's not Better call Bob. It should say Never call Bob.I had them come out to seal the water line coming into my basement. The guy had me turn the hose on and show him. The water came in lower than the water line coming in.He told me I need a sump pump put in. He did try to seal around the water line but now the water is coming out around the pipe. I asked him how often are you supposed to clean your sewer line. He told me every 2 years. I've been in my house 20 years. I told him about the commercial on  TV about the  $99 clean out. He did the sewer line and left . My credit card bill came in the mail today and they charge me $350.50.

Unbelievable customer service and expertise! We called because of a sewer backup and line break. Within three days, we had a visit from the plumber to clean out and camera the line; a visit from the rep to arrange for the major sewer work; and the actual sewer work completed. The sewer line burst-type replacement was difficult because of changes in direction and depth, plus it went under the neighbor's yard and fence. But the crew managed to replace the line, dig up our basement trap, and add a cleanout in the basement and in the yard, all through a 8' x 12' hole in the backyard and a 3' x 3' hole in the basement. No fence damage for the neighbor, minimal landscaping damage for us. (Did I mention the water main on our block broke at the same time--completely unrelated--forcing the crew to get buckets of water from the KCMO crew up the block? Beyond the call of duty!) The crew also put up a safety fence around the hole in the yard overnight, then cleaned up the driveway, folded the sod back over, put our fenceposts back in place with concrete, washed down the wall and floor area in the basement, and hooked the overhead utility line back in place. (We followed with a power wash of the driveway and some yard cleanup, as well as carpet and floor cleaning inside.) There were a couple of small snags, but they handled them. Having your sewer nonfunctional is stressful; having a portion of your yard dug up is emotional! But I have no bad things to say. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work done.

I called Bob Hamilton for an air conditioning technician for a leak.  The tech,  came out and advised me that I needed one of their plumbers to come.  So I waited another day and one of their plumbers came and told me that no, this is an air-conditioning problem.  So Now I have to wait another day without air-conditioning for them to have another technician come out to replace the condensation tray Which I was told they won't actually do the work the day they diagnose the problem, so we're looking at 4 days.  I used this company because I thought they had competent technicians.   Very dissatisfied!

Mindy's report on 11/21/17 sure looks like a pattern to me.  Our sink stops draining about every 5 years because of accumulation of solids.  It usually costs $100 to $130 to clean out.  It is a relatively easy task because there is a cleanout plug and they only need to run the snake about 20 feet.  I know it is not difficult nor time-consuming because I used to do it myself before I got too old.
Bob Hamilton charged $48 to come out and look at it.  After trying to sell me a re-plumbing job, he quoted $217 to bring in the small rooter and run it down the cleanout.
After seeing their ads all over for sewer cleaning at a flat rate of $99, this has to be a classic bait-and-switch.  Not to mention their price of $265 is outrageous.  If they are going to charge double the other companies you should not have to pay $48 to find out.
I would have refused to pay the $48 service call fee but they probably would have filed a lien on my house.

UPDATE: I guess Rebecca missed my point.  I am not confused.  10 of the next 12 reviews are bad.  Most of them say rip off in one way or another.

At this point I need to have a refund of what they charged me, as they did not do anything to solve the problem.

If they are a decent company they will take corrective action on all the other negative reviews.

Charged 2600.00 for a hot water heater installation.  I asked several times for an itemized receipt,  but they never gave me one. The hot water tank id $900 on line, so they charged 1700.00 for an hour of labor. Was told by text that a manager would get with me..  they never did. DO NOT use these guys. Way over priced.  Also, i have a water softener and they said the salt can ruin my water heater.. NO SALT GOES INTO THE FRESH WATER. ITS ONLY USED TO CLEAN THE CLEANING BEADS. I WOULD TASTE SALT WATER IF IT DID.. THEY JUST WERE TRYING TO SELL ME THEIR WATER SOFTENER BY TRYING TO SCARE ME.
WHAT A TERRIBLE COMPANY.

We accidentally flushed a small aerosol can down the toilet and wanted to make sure we didn't have a backup over the holidays so we called the plumber.  The technician came out - took him at most 1 1/2 hours, probably more like 1 hour and we were charged $706.58 to pull the toilet and get the can out (and this is after they purport a discount of $144.57).  The only part required was a seal for the toilet.  This is outrageous to me that a company could charge this amount of money for the work done.  We will never use Bob Hamilton again.  Below are the specific line items on the bill -

Closet auger - $256.10
Dispatch fee - $48.00
Pull & reset - $547.05
Total before discount - $851.15
Discount - ($144.57)
Total - $706.58

Our A/C went out last week and the company we had for over 15 years said they could get to us on June 19, but since we will be on vacation  then, they scheduled us for June 26.  I tried other companies and the earliest appointment I could get was June 11.  Finally on Friday 6/1, I called Bob Hamilton.  They said a technician would be out the next day.  Unfortunately, our unit would cost too much to repair, with no guarantee as to how long it would last, so we decided to replace the entire furnace-a/c system.  Figuring it would be a while before we could get it installed, I was pleasantly surprised when Paul, the Comfort Specialist  scheduled us for today 6/5.  Between Saturday and today I had to call Paul with a couple of questions.  He promptly returned my calls and was very helpful.  Today, the installation techs, Jeff and James showed up on time to begin the install.  They were very courteous and explained everything they were going to do.  They estimated they would be done around 3. But, they encountered a problem with our zone controller and couldn't get the system working properly.  They were determined to get our system running and worked diligently to address the problem.  They finally located a small loose wire that was causing the issue, fixed it and finished the job at 6.  They had an option of getting a new controller and returning tomorrow to finish the job.  I really appreciate the effort they put in to ensure we didn't have to endure another hot Kansas night with no a/c.  All of the Bob Hamilton employees I dealt with, including the initial tech, a young lady whose name I regrettably don't recall, were friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional.  I would highly recommend Bob Hamilton.

My AC and furnace are 20 years old and needs replacement.  Bob Hamilton is one of three I called for an estimate.  I had an appointment that was confirmed for 5pm.  I was told that  I would get a call 30 minutes ahead of time.  At 6:30 pm and again at 7:30pm I tried to call them but after hours no answer.  Finally at 9:13pm I got a call and Corky who told me that obviously we are late.  I let him know that late isn't the proper term.  I prefer the term fired.  I had an appointment with AB May the next morning and the rep was 5 minutes early.  Bob Hamilton missed out on a 6500 install.  Business must be to good at Bob Hamilton.  Can you imagine how service after the sale will be?????

This was the first time I have ever used Bob Hamilton Plumbing & I was very disappointed in the service that I received. I called on a Friday morning & was scheduled for Saturday morning. I waited all day & finally I received a call at 1:30 on Saturday. He was rude to me & stated that they overbooked themselves for the day so they wouldn't be able to get to me that day, but stated they would be out for sure the next day. I waited & waited & I called at 12:30 to see what time they'd be there. She informed me that I was next in line & they'd be there in about an hr. 2 hrs later, I received a call informing me that they wouldn't be able to make it today either & wanted to reschedule me for a third time. I was upset as the issue was that the main drain to the house was clogged & even to just flush the toilet or wash your hands, water came up from the floor drain & got all over the place. I asked to speak with a manager & she refused to do so- I was told someone would call me, but they never did. I ended up calling Razor Rooter 913-438-3680 & they had someone out within an hr & the cost was $110, but he also threw in a  $10 discount for all the troubles I had all weekend with Bob Hamilton Plumbing, which was very nice of them because it wasn't their fault. Razor Rooter won my business in the future.

Bob Hamilton was recommended to us by my parents. The work that was provided was satisfying the first time around and they did not fail to deliver the same service the second time around! Matt Dayringer was the representative that worked with us. He presented himself very professionally and was patient with us (as my mother had to be there and needed translating). He gave us many options and recommended what he thought would be best. We decided to go with a different option and Matt was still supportive and was able to fix our problem! If I could, I would give 100 stars!

I've been in contract with bob Hamilton for over a year now. I pay $21.00 per month for gold star service. 3 months ago I had my appointment scheduled for preventive service. Just a few days before they called and canceled appointment due to some excuse. Fine. Today, once again, I've had my plumbing preventive appointment scheduled for a week. I even received an alert call this morning from good old Jake saying he would be in contact with me throughout the day to alert me as to when my plumber would arrive. Two hours later another call from Jake. This time he calls to alert me I am being canceled again. What?! You just called me 2 hrs ago!!!! This time there are too many emergencies ahead of my preventive call and therefore I have no plumber coming today. That's just wonderful being canceled a second time for a service I pay monthly for. Also, does bob Hamilton ever consider maybe people schedule these appointments on their day off and now I can't get a plumber to come over on my day off? In addition, I actually have a leaking sink but since you are canceling me I guess I'll have to be another company's emergency call. Very bad business. Bob Hamilton allows you to pay them a monthly fee for a contract where they are doing nothing but when you try to utilize the monthly service you've been paying for they toss you to the side for paying emergency jobs. Disgusted with the way I was treated. Do Not sign a plumbing contract with bob Hamilton. It is a complete joke and scam. I deserve a full refund of the $21.00/ month I've been paying them.

Update: Paul called from Bob Hamilton to listen to my concerns. After a conversation, he refunded me for the entire length of my contract. Hopefully in the future changes will be made to their policies in canceling existing contracted customers. Nonetheless, I appreciated the call and gesture.

Do yourself a favor and do what Mom told you to do and get three estimates. There is no plumbing emergency that can't wait long enough to get they guy who doesn't charge $600/hour for labor to come in and fix it.

My Mom hired Bob Hamilton because she knew that she'd be selling her house soon and wanted a company that would be around long enough to honor its warranty. She went to the big company for peace of mind.

The work that they do is fine, but they do put a lot of pressure on the customer to get extras done (e.g., you'll save yourself hundreds of dollars by not having us make an extra trip) and they left a coat of filth on the surface of the basement floor and appliances where they refused to set foot before she had paid their recommended serviceman $1200 to come in for 2 hours and steam-clean it. It took me hours of sweeping and mopping to get most of the dirt out.

When they worked in my Mom's house, they also shut off the power to the AC and forgot to turn it back on, griped about working in the heat, and looked the other way when she called in the furnace technician to find out why her AC wasn't working and she paid that bill herself.

We discovered after they finished - I take Mom's laundry home with me because she can't climb stairs anymore - that they dropped something on the control panel of the washing machine and broke the part that tells you what temperature the water is. I wish that they would have owned up to it and fixed it, but they were young guys and probably needed a more mature man around to guide them. Another thing that they did was to unplug the deep freezer from an outlet that they were plugging the water heater into. They plugged the freezer into an outlet on the other side of the room via an extension cord that they ran across the floor.

If you read staff reviews of the company on glassdoor.com, another of our experiences will be confirmed: endless upselling. They put pressure on Mom to agree without delay to their putting washer/dryer hookups in a tiny guest room closet that would have required moving a load-bearing wall (and finding a matching patch to the nearly 100-year-old oak floor as well as purchasing expensive, small appliances) to make it work.

If you hire them, get a clear estimate, compare it with another company's, and when they tell you that you need extra work, look for a second opinion. I lean toward hiring a local guy who lives in your own neighborhood and has to show his face at the local grocery store now and then. Brookside/Waldo have plenty of that kind of business.

Paul S., the technician that came over to fix our plumbing issue was great.  He  was very professional, considerate of our home and so kind.  He gave me various options to fix our issue and got it done/taken care of in a timely manner.  I felt very comfortable letting him into our home - he had a wonderful demeanor and is a great reflection of Bob Hamilton.  They should be proud to have him on their staff.

Had one of their a/c technicians out because the unit was not able to cool below 78 degrees. He was knowledgeable and found the A coil, blower, and outside unit needed cleaning. Quoted $800 to clean units and another $600 to clean blower and motor. Are you kidding? Found a different, reliable technician who did the work for $150. Took about 2 hours. I gave him a nice tip. The price they quoted me was, I believe, outrageous, and probably immoral.

I had two sinks that were draining slow.  I called Bob Hamilton in the evening to see if someone was available for the next day.  The evening attendant was pleasant and helpful.  He said he would have someone call the next day.  They called at 0800 and arrived shortly after.  Sam was very helpful, professional and knowledgeable.
I would recommend Sam and would welcome him back.
Thank you for the great service and reasonable price.

Nine years ago Bob Hamilton dug up my yard to repair a piece of my sewer line.  I was told the repair would go to the mainline.  With one year left of my 10 year warranty, I called back for warranty service only to be told that the piece needing repair was just passed where they repaired and it would cost $3500 (again) to get to the mainline (4 feet). I was told 9 years ago that the repair would go to the mainline. In the meantime, I was charged their $99 special to open the line until it could be properly repaired.
On the day they were to repair it AGAIN (3 days later), they never showed up; I waited all day for the call and I kept calling for a status.  At the end of the day, I was told that they were backed up and they would come the next morning.  This is a rental property and the tenants were pretty upset because they were told to avoid flushing.  At this point I decided to get a second opinion. The company I called ended up using a 3 and a half inch blade instead of the one inch blade Bob Hamilton used that just teased the blockage.  The line was quickly cleared to show root debris and a metal object that was blocking it., saving me $3200.  This is wrong.  They were about to dig up the yard again because they did not repair the break to the mainline as promised and was going to charge me again because the camera showed what they repaired was still in tack.  How do they stay in business with ripping people off this way?  I see so many bad reviews out there.

My tech's name was Kyle.  He was very personable, competent and quick to repair.  I just think Bob Hamilton's pricing structure is out of whack.  The part alone can be had for about $35 and Kyle's most thorough installation brought my total bill to just under $500.  I think $450 dollars an hour is out of whack.  So this is for two reviews  -  5 Stars for Kyle and 1 Star for Bob Hamilton's pricing giving an average of 3 Stars.

I had my initial doubts when I first called and was told that it would cost $48 just for them to show up.  Most other businesses roll those kinds of fees into the overall cost if the customer elects to have them do the work.  I don't like nickel-dime policies like this.  I elected to go ahead with the repair as my water was off and I needed it back on quickly.

I doubt that I'll use Bob Hamilton again.

We had them out to look at a drain clog, which they had been out a month prior. The original estimate was just under 1,000. The return trip he gave us 5 options ranging from 670 to 20k. We were going to go with the 2k repair to replace a 2ft section of pipe, but when we realized what little he was doing we felt pressured to go with the next level up to replumb 1.5 baths. Which we were told was 5988 if we payed cash and 7400 if we applied for their interest free card. The tech tried to be friendly and asked me what I did for work because he was working behind me in my basement.when he heard I was a tech dispatcher he told me we could have gotten the repair done by other competitors for 4k. He also was also telling me they work on commission. He mentioned to me they charged jobs by a flat rate which explains why him and his partner were constantly outside smoking. They were on site approx 6 hours. I cannot get any detailed receipts from the company. Doing more research for the price we paid that should have covered the cost to do our whole house. To me it looks like they charge around $300per hour per tech and 100% mark up on parts. I wish I would have read reviews on them before calling them out I would have went elsewhere.

I have been a customer of Bob Hamilton's for about 20 years.  I've been a service partner which means I pay monthly to be at the top of the list for repairs plus I receive an annual heating system review/service and an annual air conditioning review/service.  The problem has always been their prices.  Outrageous.  They come to your location and find things wrong.  Maybe minor things that don't need immediate attention but since they are there you pay to have the repair completed.  And the prices they charge are crazy high.  Then this spring when I scheduled my a/c check they twice rescheduled my appointment to go somewhere else.  And remember I'm a service partner.  I was promised that the GM of the Hvac division (they have multiple GM's) would call me.  I think it's a Hamilton who is the GM.  Twice promised and twice ignored.  I'm finished with paying too much for convenience and then being ignored when they reschedule me and ignore me.

Saturday morning I called Bob Hamilton Plumbing because my dishwasher started to leak all over the floor.  We had a clog in the kitchen sink.  BHP said they'd be out Saturday.  That was great news, so I didn't call a competitor.  Later they called, and I was told it would be Sunday morning.

Sunday at 11:00 I called because I hadn't heard from them.  They told me they weren't making it out Sunday and it would be Monday and they would call.

So Monday of course I didn't hear from them. I borrowed a snake and through many hours of effort, I was able to clear the clog myself.  The problem has been solved, and there is no clog or leak.
I didn't call BHP.  I've been curious how long it would take them to call - they never did.

Honestly I have no real evidence that BHP even has plumbers, because I've never seen one.  I have, however, seen the commercial for Bob running for office a dozen times.

Bob Hamilton Plumbing has lost my business and my vote.  Is 'no stars' an option here?

Since I am a business owner, I try to be very kind and thoughtful with all reviews, because we have been on both sides of reviews, but with every instance....we have always taken care of the customers and we have a five star rating online. Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience with Bob Hamilton's heating and plumbing in Overland Park, Kansas. Their plumbers were at our neighboring business on April 30th of 2017. Our business neighbors were having plumbing issues and called them out. In the process of trying to unclog the neighbors toilet by using a snake or rooter, they went through the pipeline on our side and busted the back of our toilet in half and caused major flooding in our office and restroom. Instead of offering to fix it on the spot, the young plumber just said sorry, this buildings plumbing is out of date and then packed up his bags and left our neighbors business. I was in shock and very upset and immediately called Bob Hamilton to see if they could send a plumber back to our business to fix the issue they caused (which they didn't). After speaking with numerous individuals on the phone and getting the run-around, I finally went down there in person to ask if we could get someone to come up and fix our toilet and stop the leaking water. Their response was to have a manager call me to address the situation, which again never happened. Finally, after several days of leaky water and damage, I got someone on the phone and was told that a plumber was finishing a job and would be out to my business by 6 pm (we close at 4:30) which again blew my mind because with flooding going on at our establishment, it was causing damage,  and we were without a toilet. So, I waited until 10 pm and no one ever came!!! The next day, desperate to solve the issue, I called a plumber that my landlord recommended and he immediately came out, but was unable to shut the water off, since it is a large multi-unit building. His response, get their asses out here asap, they are responsible for this mess and he couldn't believe that Bob Hamilton was taking so long to get a plumber out to fix the issue they caused. -So again, we were back at square one trying to get Bob Hamilton to own up to their mistake and come out and fix the problem. Finally, after purchasing a new toilet ourselves (out of our business account), we were able to get Bob Hamilton to send somebody at the end of the day on May 4 to fix the issue. The plumbers were nice and you can tell they felt bad for the damage that the previous plumbers caused a week earlier, they were also shocked that no one had gotten to our establishment sooner to fix issue. They were at our shop for about two hours and fixed the problem, but to this day we are still without hot water. Now, Bob Hamilton's heating and cooling has the nerve to send us a bill for $900 for work and damage they caused. So, I'm going to reverse it on them and send them an invoice for the toilet we purchased, new tile for our restroom, and my time for staying multiple nights waiting on their plumbers... when no one would show up. I would strongly suggest that you don't use Bob Hamilton's heating and cooling for any of your service needs! I know dozens of plumbers and local handyman that can do a better job than them and would be happy to forward any contact information for any individual. We plan on filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau as well because the entire situation slowed our business down for a week. For any of your service needs....you better NOT call Bob!

Absolutely blown away by the level of customer service!!! This company did everything right once they realized the issue.

My wife called to have our sewer cleaned out because of tree roots that were discovered during an inspection of our house from the buyer. She explained that we were selling and what we needed done the office suggested a $99 dollar service special. This was the issue or error. That tech came out listened to the story and did not state that his service would not remove the roots. Then we called for the video inspection that was also part of the offer. That is when Matt from Bob Hamilton showed up.  After simple small talk prior to entering the house Matt said that he didn't expect the roots to be gone. I almost lost it because I thought I smelled the bait and switch upsale happening.
I was wrong!!! Matt was extremely professional and walked through every service and agreed a miscommunication happened that they would make it right.  He sent the video down and sure enough roots everywhere  as the previous inspection showed.  He called the office and agreed to apply our $99 to the price of the actual service needed and arranged for a tech to come out right then while he waited.
That gentleman's name was Sam. Also a top-notch individual!  They worked on our sewer pipe for 2 to 3 hours and kept videoing. Matt had another customer to get too but Sam stayed for another hour. Matt agreed to come back the next day to video so we could show the buyer.
Second day all roots were gone except 1 ball at 81 feet out. Matt suggested a water jet service that they do not do or get another guy out to do the snaking one more time. They were not able to get the 3inch blade needed to do it in 1 pass the make it's way through the 50 year old cast iron pipe to get to the clay pipe.
Sam came back and ran it through at 70 to 90 feet probably 8 times or more. This is when I realized he came in on his day off!!! Who does this?? Matt videoed the pipe was crystal  clear zero roots and even let me record from my phone to be able to show the buyers.
I really hope I never need their services again but if I do I will not hesitate to call Bob Hamilton!! And Bob if you're reading this better give a huge congrats and a raise to Matt and Sam they took a possible 1 star review to 5 star and recommendations for a long time to come.

We used Bob Hamilton to replace our sump pump and air conditioner. They completely messed up the outside drain for the sump pump and we had to call them back to fix it. The first time we called, the guy never showed up. (The guy who finally came after a second call was very knowledgeable and helpful, to his credit). For the air conditioning, they installed it but couldn't activate it because it was too cold. It took over 2 weeks to get them to activate when it finally got warm enough, and then only after I pushed them. Then they told us a switch didn't work and they were ordering us a replacement part (for a brand new, very expensive air conditioner!!) After much complaining and going up the chain of command to the highest person, they finally agreed to replace the entire air conditioner and give us one with all working parts. It took nearly two months for this entire process and countless phone calls. I cannot say enough about the poor service and huge hassle it is to work with this company.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. We had a drain back up in our basement after major rainstorms in the area, so everyone was calling plumbers and basement cleaning services. The gentleman on the phone was cordial and efficient and the plumber technician arrived when they said he would. Water was rising rapidly so we didn't have time to wait until the next day, when other companies said they would come. The plumber technician, Renard, was just as cordial, efficient and knowledgeable and did a quick walk around the house to be sure he had all of the info he needed and wasn't doing work/charging for unnecessary services. The water was gone in 10 minutes and saved our washer/dryer and heating system ($$$$). The cost was incredibly affordable for what could have been a major appliances/heating system replacement.

Today is the 3rd time in 2 weeks we have had a back up. Bob Hamilton has been out twice (refusing to wave the service fee on the second trip) and both times they said the issue was fixed. When I called today about the issue a very rude woman told me there was nothing they could do. Their service wasn't guaranteed and it would be $230 just to have someone come out, even if they don't do anything, to fix what they didn't do the first 2 times.  Call any other plumber.

Because I've had previous experience with Bob Hamilton, when our Homeowner's Association got a whopping $3500.00 water bill from Kansas City, I called to ask if they would help us investigate.  I got an immediate appointment, and Kalen arrived on time.  He was extremely professional and thorough, going through our basement and each unit in our building and carefully checking each possible source for a leak.  He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it, and then wrote a report I can send to the city to explain what we found.  He was here for nearly 5 hours, and remained professional and good humored through long and tedious process.

Thanks for your help, Kalen.  You are an asset to Bob Hamilton, and you can be sure I'll call you for any future service issues.

WARNING! This company came out to do a simple drain repair and offered a free inspection of our sewer main line.  They then convinced us that they needed to repair the line immediately, and gave us a quote of 18,000$. They said that no other company in town did the sewer line repair without digging. This was a lie. They offered financing of 0% interest for 60 months. We filled out a credit application.  The representative pressured us hard to have the work done the next day. We then got a second opinion. They are not the only company doing the digless repair. Digless repair is not cheaper than digging. Digging from another company was estimated at $4,200.

Three days later, after making sure to cancel both the scheduled repair AND the credit application, we received a Wells Fargo credit card at a 28.99% interest rate! No zero interest payment option, opened a credit card in our names and affecting our credit report even after they told us several times it was retracted.  Please avoid this company, I can't even imagine the financial damage they do to older or less savvy customers!

We were quite pleased with the service we received from Bob Hamilton's representative. We were constantly informed about his arrival time and a picture of the technician was emailed to us.

The work we needed was done efficiently. After it was completed other potential problems were pointed out to us and we chose to have some of them corrected then.

We were impressed that all the necessary parts were on the truck which spared us delays in the repair.

Bob Hamilton sold us a $14K heat pump/ac in July.  It broke down in September (fixed after about a week) with a service charge.....
Broke down again Dec 23, (fixed on Dec 24) with a holiday rate service charge.
Broke down AGAIN Dec 29.....you get the gist.
Obviously we were sold a dysfunctional unit.  Bob Hamilton will NOT stand behind it.  They simply said we don't make the units.
Seriously, buyer beware!!!!  Don't call Bob.

FAILURE #1:
I required a main drain clear this week and Scheduled BH to open it on Thursday MORNING. When I contacted them around 8:30 am, I was told it was set for latest afternoon. Daniel finally came & opened my drain @ 6:30 pm. At that time, I scheduled a camera review of the line (included with service fee) for THE NEXT SATURDAY MORNING (two days later) & was even told BY DANIEL someone would be here SATURDAY between 8-12.....
FAILURE #2:
I just received a call from the dispatch asking if this afternoon was still okay. HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION. How do you even get latest afternoon out of earliest morning? Will never recommend positively and feel they should train appointment setters to listen better.

I will NEVER use Bob Hamilton again. This was my first & will DEFINITELY be my last time utilizing their services. I purchased a discounted A/C check-up (reportedly $99 value) via KC Perks website (referred to it by a co-worker) & rec'd an e-mail confirmation last Tues 7/20 around 11:45am. Very shortly thereafter I rec'd an e-mail conf from Bob Hamilton Plumbing & Air. The e-mail stated they try to follow-up the same business day when possible. No contact as of Wed evening so I replied to the e-mail. Still no contact whatsoever by Friday so I called & got their voicemail system. The message said their phones are answered 24 hrs/day & someone would call me back within 5 min. 40 min later I receive a call saying someone could come out Sat afternoon. I missed the phone call & when I called back they said due to the severe storms in the area they'd have to stop early & now they wouldn't be able to get to me until Monday (today) without charging the after-hours rates. Finally today my wife said they showed up & checked my a/c unit which hadn't been performing very well. So glad I finally got service but will NEVER bother with this company again!!!!!

Had a mainline clog and so thought I would use their $99 mainline cleanout special.  Never mind that it took two trips and both times they were over an hour late. AS EXPECTED, IT WAS A COMPLETE BAIT AND SWITCH.  They said it could not be cleaned using a snake and that the floor would need to be cut out  (they also advertise that they have rooter systems that can cut through trees, so not sure why they couldn't get through my mainline).  Instead of $99, it would now cost $4320.56.  But if I agreed to do it now and paid cash, it would cost $3,542.86.  Both ridiculously so overpriced.  Also not sure why there's a $700 discount for cash since credit card processing would be $130.  The whole thing was crazy suspicious.  Bob Hamilton should be investigated.  His specials are just a trick to get his sleezy people in the door so they can rob you.  Call the local guy, he may be a little higher priced at first but it will save you so much in the end.  And as proof, had another plumber come out and amazingly, his snake worked and opened the line - all for $125.

Feel I was robbed after researching.
$1600 for a complete shower/tub valve replacement. Did not research or get other bids. Shame on me. The parts cost could not be over $300 max. So $1300 labor that took less than 2 hours? So you charge $650 an hour???
Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. I can assure you there will not be a twice.
I will write negative reviews on every social media site available and word of mouth to everyone I know.
You should really consider making this gross overcharge right but I'm sure you will just ignore it and find another victim. I have no idea how you are still in business.

Update from 11/7/2022 review. When I used the outdoor faucet for the first time after this winter, it malfunctioned (I did not leave a hose attached, etc., just a bad part). I called them and they came out the next day and repaired it at no charge. Jonathon did a great job.

Every tech is a sales men. Their goal is to Upsell and get the most out of you so that they can get a higher pay scale on their commissions ladder.

They get you by scaring you with all the potential things that can go wrong so that you will allow them to do the work.

I am would like to split my review into 2 segments.   The first part is we needed our shower fixed as it was leaking and needed someone quick.
The were courteous and prompt and were here when they said they would be.
Thats the good part.  The tech said that we would need a major rebuild of the faucet. 678.00 was the quote.  With that kind of quote I thought that they would have to some major work, nope.  They slipped in a new cartridge (50.00 or less part) and away they went. Extra bad me I let them do 2 showers  @678 each ( they did offer a discount to around 1150) .
I dont know if they misquoted the wrong repair but if you are not in an emergency, I would recommend going elsewhere.

Sam took a lot of the stress out of having a plumbing problem.  He also identified and fixed an unrelated issue and gave me some great advice for an upcoming project.  The fixes were done professionally and matched his estimate.

I will definitely be using Bob H plumbing in the future and will ask for Sam.

Matt was professional and gave me several options. He also cleaned up most of the mess after he was finished,

However, I felt their prices were really high. I did have some repairs done and paid $1,082 to have a pipe replaced. I felt that I did not have a choice since the auger procedure did not work and that was almost $300 regardless if it worked or not.

I would give zero stars if I could. Technician was supposed to call me yesterday afternoon to let me know when coming 30 min. in advance  Never called. At end of day, called Bob Hamilton and lady claimed technician had called me and even left a voicemail when not reaching me. A complete LIE, I have a cell phone and it registers every missed call or voicemail: there was none. I reiterated my cell to make sure she had correct number and rescheduled for next day. I called in AM and again gave my cell again to verify they had right number. Waited by phone ALL DAY (window was noon to 4), even took cell into bathroom with me,  no call. At end of day called Bob Hamilton main office and they fed me the same story, oh technician or dispatcher called you and didn't reach you. LIE!!! Dispatcher kept claiming they called when I told them flatly they didn't and my phone could prove it. Worse customer service ever. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and insult to my intelligence to lie like that when my cell phone can verify.

My sewer line backed up today and I called Bob Hamilton Plumbing at 11am.  Their ad stated same day service guaranteed.  They said they would call 20 minutes before they came.  Kids were home all day as was I waiting.  At 5pm I became worried they wouldn't come so I called them again and asked if they were still coming out tonight.  I was assured that they were......at 9:15 I received a call and I was told that it was now too late unless I wanted to pay a after hours charge or reschedule for the following day!!!    Though I was appalled at the options offered me after waiting ALL day I asked how soon they could schedule the next day.....This guy had the nerve to tell me that he couldn't say when...but it would be sometime the next day!!!!  That's what I was told today at 11am and again at 5pm.    I told him forget it....I would call Well Done plumbing who I had used in the past and comes same day.    What a joke for a plumbing firm.....lie to you on the phone....no guarantee as their published yellow pages ad states...and no apology after waiting all day!

Update - I called back and spoke with management.  They did offer to refund our $$ and did so. Lesson learned - before using one of these specials, be aware of what they are actually offering.  I felt like it was misleading, but I do appreciate the fact that they did refund our $99 without a fight once I reached out to management.  If the customer service agent would have sent me to management in the first place, this review probably would have been avoided.

Bob Hamilton Plumbing should not advertise they will come the same day. We could tell drain was going to back up and called in the A.M., was told they would be there same day. In the afternoon they called to say they could not make it. The drain completely backed up at 7pm..we called and found Roto Rooter who came out at 10 pm to help us. We have several thousand dollar claims with insurance, I owe $1500 deductible...as it ruined carpet, and walls. Either change your advertising, or change your process. If you say you come out same day -- do it. I have written a comment on their website but of course they will not post anything negative. I have also written to their customer service department. I would NEVER call them again.

We are a preferred customer for Bob Hamilton.  During our most recent semi-annual maintenance call for HVAC, we mentioned to the technician that there was a faint smell of natural gas over the weekend.  After completing the routine maintenance, the technician stated that he didn't smell anything and maybe my wife had a more sensitive nose.
A couple weeks later, the natural gas smell was back and we called Bob Hamilton to come back out to investigate.  We were charged the $48 call out fee and another small fee for the leak detection.  That was the end of the low costs.
The technician quoted a cost of $1,600 to take the line apart to the leaking joint and reseal the joints.  There were 12 joints and the total length of pipe was less than 15 feet.  The technician also suggested we replace 3 valves that were going to be disconnected as a part of the repair.  I was quoted a cost of $419 per valve (less than $30 at a hardware store) but he reduced the cost of the line repair from $1,600 to $800 for a total cost of $2,000.  Lastly, our water heater was approaching 20 years old and was suggested to be replaced.  I was quoted a range of costs, $1350 - $2709, depending on the water heater warranty length.  Depending on water heater options, Bob Hamilton wanted $3,350 to $4709 to complete all of the work.
Fortunately, I work with a couple of guys who used to be master plumbers and they referred me to a couple of guys that are still master plumbers.  I had an independent contractor come out and he completed all of the work, line dissasemble/reassemble, valve replacement and water heater replacement for $1300 and was complete in 3 hours, including a trip to the hardware store to get a bigger cheater bar to disassemble the pipe.
I will continue to be a Bob Hamilton customer as their semi-annual maintenance calls are very good and in line with other local companies (5 stars).  However, my first experience with a major repair with them leaves me less than impressed (1 star).  If you are considering major work, get multiple quotes and negotiate the estimate provided by Bob Hamilton.

I'm rating BHP at two stars; there are clear pros and cons with them, which I'll lay out below.

TL;DR: BHP is prompt and friendly, but will charge 200-400% more than other high-quality providers.

The good:
- Prompt. They answer the phone, have alternate methods like text to reach out (although this didn't work for me), and can generally fit you into the schedule quickly.
- Courteous. Never had a bad experience from this standpoint. We've had BHP out for a couple issues and they're always courteous and earnest.
- Competent. I haven't had a problem with their capabilities. And they generally seem to know what they're doing.

The bad:
- Exorbitant pricing. Our BHP plumber after snaking from our kitchen drain to the main line called in the video guy to see what he was hitting in the line. The video apparently (I didn't see it, but don't doubt it) showed tree roots in a pipe under our slab. The plumber suggested work that would cost either $16k or $12k. Upon questioning, he could do it for $8k (see below; hold that thought) and upon negotiating he could do it for $5k. The plumber we had do the actual work did it for $1,600. So the suggested work compared to final was 10x.
- High-value work oriented (or worse). The conversation I had with the plumber is in hindsight very disappointing. I don't expect them to hold a fiduciary duty to me, but suggesting work that is 10x market is either poorly incentivized or worse.
- Opaque pricing. During the discussion on pricing, I never received a breakdown on pricing. At first it seems cool that they do quotes and pricing on an iPad, but it quickly pivots to a lack of transparency when there are huge mathematical discrepancies. Remember the spot above I told you to hold that thought? Here was the issue: the $12k work had a mechanical piece that the plumber said cost about $7k alone (I had asked for a breakdown of the work involved to understand what I was paying for). Upon my suggestion of a new way of doing the work to not require the mechanical piece (note, the plumber didn't suggest this), the price still came out to $8k. The math doesn't work here:  $12k minus $7k does not equal $8k. And the labor was less, not more to remove the mechanical piece.

The punchline:
- There's only one situation I'd ever use BHP again and that's if it were a dire emergency and literally nobody else could do the work. There are far too many good plumbers out there; nobody is cheap, but many are fair. I would never call BHP fair, but would call other plumbers.

Bob hamilton Plumbing.  I agree with most things that have been said:  Staff and techs are courteous and professional.  Work is satisfactory.

PRICES ARE TOO HIGH.  I know that there is value in peace of mind when work is done reliably BUT, they charge too darn much.  $400 to replace seals on a leaking faucet.  They have to agree to the price before hand.  I respect that, it settles the most important matter at the very beginning.  That's okay with me.  My problem is that the charge covers their pairts and labor for the worst case scenario.  But every case in not the worst.  My case was a very mild scenario and it cost $400 anyway.  That's not how to get repeat customers.

I am so furious with Bob Hamilton. I spent over 10K for a new HVaC system that isn't  working and now in 100 degree weather, we are going on 5 days without them resolving the problem; requiring me to take my young children to friends and family because it's too hot to be in our home. So much for better call Bob.

Hi
I would highly recommend Bob Hamilton. Last week my furnace stopped blowing heat. I called another relatively well known heating and cooling company and they came out and fixed the problem. My house never warmed up. I called them back and they came out and fixed it again. No heat. Called a third time, on a Friday, the fixed it again. Saturday morning I called and was told I would have to wait until Monday. I called Bob Hamilton and they came out and diagnosed my problem, the circuit board was toast. It would have been $800+ to replace. I chose to replace my 20 year old furnace and ac instead. The technician that diagnosed my furnace was friendly and very knowledgeable. Corky, the new sales associate, was very knowledgeable and professional and patient. He went over at least 7 different options until I found one that worked for me. He was at my cold house until 915p. I forgot to mention that I was not charged weekend after hours penalty fees for the initial service call. Anyway, today Josh and Stan showed up at 9a to start installing the new furnace and ac. They were very professional and friendly. I am very happy with my new system and the service I have received.

I bought a new system from them (AC and furnace) in March 2014.  After 3 months and 8 service calls because the AC wasn't working, I finally got them to replace the new system.  Turns out that all that trouble was due to a bad original install.  So, so frustrating!  Now the new (newest?) system has been in place for a year and I'm without working AC.... AGAIN.  This time, it's the actual equipment and it's taking forever to get the parts in.

I'm giving 2 stars because, to be honest, some of their technicians are outstanding.  Truly great at their jobs and amazing with customer service.  I'll also give the entire staff at Bob Hamilton props for trying to make things right.  However, this entire experience -- even with their apologies -- has just left me with a bad taste in my mouth.  I'm sad, I had a great amount of respect for this company and the original install crew is probably to blame for my shifting opinion.

I will say this much: they really will do their best to make it right.  Sometimes you just have to push them.

Ok it seems that the $99 service was a gimmick.  I knew when the tech pulled into my driveway he didn't know what he was doing.  Floor drain backup seemed simple to fix.  Granted my house is an older home and the house trap was removed years ago And fitted with a back flow device.  The tech didn't seem to know where to start.  He offered a couple Diffrent options all of which none were under $600.  He even said that the line needed to be replaced and a clean out put in the yard.  To make a long story short you could tell that I was his final call of the day and by any means he was going to get out of there ASAP. I told him thanks for coming out and called Weldon Sewer and Drain.  They sent out a technician and he seemed to be a little stumped by my plumbing issue.  He never up sold any services and explained that his machine may be to big to take down the old steps.  He asked me if I had a plunger and I said no.  He went to his vehicle retrieved his standard plunger and after one try he was able to open up the line and solve the problem.  Needless to say he did receive a tip for his service on top of the $90 drain fee.  Thanks Weldon Sewer and Drain.

I had what appeared to be a main line backup.  I called on a Sunday morning thinking I'd have to wait until Monday.  They had me on a waiting list and by 11a, someone was at my home.  He was very professional and explained everything to me.  There wasn't a backup at all.  Someone must have flushed huge wads of toilet paper or something.  Anyway, I agree to a camera inspection as I have had to have roots cut away in the past.  Although I am extremely please with Bob Hamilton at this moment.  I'm a bit concerned about the other reviews I am ready about the free camera inspection.  I will certainly get a 2nd or third opinion from another company should I get the same type of camera inspection results as I am reading here

WARNING: DON'T CALL BOB! (from Johnson Co., KS)

I should have checked YELP first!   VERY long story short: earlier this year, BOB HAMILTON [BOB] called me from LOWES Home Improvement referrals, and they replaced my HVAC unit.  They sold me on a 'self-modulating', extremely expensive, HVAC system that would, for one, end the temperature difference between our upper and lower floors, among other lofty promises and other pricey, unneeded add-ons.  Turned out that their sales gimmicks were not at all true.  After countless phone calls over the last 5 months - nothing has changed - and now they will not return any of my calls.

I contacted LOWES and reported BOB and the issues to them.

Bob Hamilton is getting one star only because the plumber that came out was very nice with no pressure. They offer upfront costs before work is done and GOOD THING! There was a $48 service call fee...OK! I needed a shut off valve replaced under my kitchen sink and a new dishwasher installed that happened to be sitting IN the kitchen. My husband had already unhooked everything from the old dishwasher so it would have been simple. Maybe 30 min? The guy wanted $440 for the work. I said no way. He then offered to waive the $48 call fee and had a $50 coupon that he said Bob would let him use. Just by saying no once, the price dropped almost $100?? 25%? I paid the $48 and sent him on his way. Called another plumber and had the valve replaced and dishwasher installed for less than $100.

What's the point of making an appointment ahead of time? I had a plumbing issue, my main sewer was back up. It was 10:30pm. I called Bob Hamilton Plumbing that night, dispatcher said they can get someone out that way but it'll be considered after hours. So I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for the next day @ 5:30pm. The next day around 12pm I received a phone call from the dispatcher stating that with the appointment being later in the day there is a good chance it can be reschedule or run into after hours again. At that moment I was pissed. What's the point of having an APPOINTMENT!!!! The dispatcher I made the appointment with never mentioned anything about that. If I would've known, I would've planned according. Anyways, they never showed up that night, but got a phone call @ 8pm for another dispatcher saying they can get a technician out my way but it'll be considered after hour or they can reschedule for another time. Meanwhile I called Roto-Rooter and they got a technician out within 30 mins. My sewer line was unclogged by 9pm, which I was happy. ROTO-ROOTER FTW!!!!

I called Bob Hamilton for the clogged drain snack service in the morning on April 4, they sent the service man to my home at noon. very good. And the service guy is very nice, and did very good. It only took him 15 minutes to solve the clogged pipe. So everything is perfect now. But, I got $300 charge, which was $256 for the service, $40 for dispatch and plus tax, which total is $300. Thing about this, $300 for 15 minutes, that means over $1000 per hour rate. what a such  so expensive service? it did happen for Bob Hamilton.

BEWARE! This company charged me $2800.00 for 4 hours sewer line work. They didn't provide pictures of the completed work. I was at their mercy and they had their way with me during a sewer nightmare. The original quote was for a full workday. The job took two hours to complete. It turned out that it was easy. Instead of revising the bill to the ratio of time worked (which would be a 75% discount, or $1750 discounted). That would be the right thing to do. Instead, take advantage of the (then) ignorant home owner, and chose short-sighted greed instead. There's a reason why they MUST advertise so heavily, it's to overcome the word of mouth reputation they have from very unhappy customers like me.

I had a washer line replaced in January 2020 for a staggering price of $639.44.  The same hose at Home Depot is $14.04.  I absolutely understand that you pay for the service, which I was prepared for.  I even accepted the cost and just moved on.  However, on Nov 29th (The Thanksgiving holiday weekend), the same hose blew out and again started leaking.  Bob Hamilton came out and assured me that they would handle this at no cost since the hose was defective.  They left my washer pulled out and said they were sending over the Drying company to make sure the water that leaked into the basement was dry.  I told them that it would dry out no problem, but since this was a warranty job they wanted to be safe.  Which again I understood.  The power dry people came out 2 days later and told me everything was dry and fine.  I assumed they would replace the hose, which they did not.  I had to again call Bob Hamilton back to replace the hose which they did... yet another day later.  I thought everything was done, since I received an invoice at $0.00 cost. Then Saturday I get an invoice in the mail for $1217.08.  I have never wrote a review before, so I am a rookie at this.  I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt.  So I called them this morning, and yet again they blew me off and told me I would hear from someone within the next 48 hours.  I will say their technicians are professional and courteous and have always been very nice.  However, when you work for a company that has a sole purpose of gauging the consumer, I think you need to take a look at who you work for!!  After this nightmare is over, I will NEVER call them again, or refer them to anyone.  Please do your due diligence and pay attention to the actual people that are doing these reviews.  There is a reason they have a TWO start rating.

Called to get pricing on getting a light fixture installed in a high ceiling. On the phone I was told the charges would be $65 and then a labor cost but that no quote could be given without seeing the property. The labor cost was $1000+. Don't worry, I was still charged the $65 call fee. Waste of time for everyone involved.

Here is what I did wrong: I called late at night which I'm (now) assuming goes to a call center not associated with Bob Hamilton. Since no real details were shared, I should have just moved on to another company or called back during business hours.

If anyone is needing a HVAC I can tell you who not to go through, Bob Hamilton Plumbing Heating A/C Rooter.

I called last night to schedule a appointment. My normal company couldn't see us until Tuesday. I was put on the schedule for today between 8-12.

When 12pm came and went I called to check in and was told that a tech would be out soon that we were 3rd in line.

After I got off work at 4 and noticed no one showed up I called and was told that Amy would be out shortly.

Ten minutes later I was called and informed that no one was coming until Monday.

I asked if the call was being recorded and was informed it was . I repeated back the timeline of today.

Next time I'll go with the other company that I've always used.

I wanted to take some time and tell you how great the customer service was for me. I had the pleasure in working with Curtis after I had a new ac and furnace installed for my mom. I had been quoted a high price and worked on getting price lowered with them since my mom was on fixed income and would be paying for this. They were able to help me out on the price after I sent 2 quotes from 2 different companies and credited back in timely manner. I will always look to work with Bob Hamilton for the future.

I was recently visiting my parents over break when their clay pipes collapsed (per the BHP employee, Eddy, informed us). My parents called BHP and they were quick to respond. Eddy, came out with a camera and scoped the pipes. He was super friendly and seemed very experienced. He informed my mother that she needs to replace the whole pipe, dig up the yard, ect. When he went over pricing, he quoted her $6800. As this is a very large number, she wanted to get other estimates to see what was a reasonable price. Eddy then quickly went on to tell her that State Farm covers the plumbing issue with insurance and he sees it done all the time ; so knowing that this would be covered of course we would go with BHP; he had been so kind and helpful. He went on to persuade my mother to call State Farm, at that moment, and verify she had the plumbing insurance then inform them that they are having issues with the pipes draining (because at that point that's all we knew until the yard was torn up). State Farm verified the coverage. Eddy then went on to say in a few days he will submit the claim and State Farm will cover the whole issue (he's seen it done many times before). Well, demo day comes and Eddy is nowhere to be found and State Farm said they do not cover this. So now, with a crew digging up my parents  lawn they had no point but to proceed with the madness which is BHP. I was shocked when my mother told me this because I stood right their with her, recording her and Eddy's conversation (to let my father listen later) then to find out she was taken advantage of. My family has definitely lost the trust of this family oriented company. My parents could've looked around and received other quotes from more trustworthy companies, instead they were deceived and tricked into following through with this company. Although, the gentleman had a great business demeanor and even friendly enough to show us pictures of his dogs, he spoke falsely just to get some business. Very disappointed in the whole situation.

We had Bob Hamilton come to our office to repair our water heater. They charged us $500 for a diagnostic fee and $1,100 in repairs. A week later our hot water was not working again. They said they would send someone out at no charge and low and behold they charged us another $200 and told us to repair the damage now, it was another $1,900 for a no guarantee fix or $7,500 for a new water heater. Not sure why they couldn't diagnose the problem correctly the first time but this is by far the worst experience I've had with a repair company.

AC went out after hours while my husband was out of town.  Having two young children I was in a pinch.  Technician came out and blamed the problem on our new nest thermostat.  Charged me over $750 to fix the problem.  Later learned that one of the parts was not required and the two parts they replace cost less than $80 combined.  Seems a little steep on the installation.  I felt taken advantage of.

These guys were amazing.  We had a sewer back up and they came out in a few hours and repaired everything for $100...  When we moved here we tried Roger the Plumber and soon discovered they wanted to charge us 5 times more than an ethical plumber would charge..  Total rip off... So glad to find a plumber that provides great service at a reasonable cost...  Will use these guys for any future plumbing needs we have....

The prices charged are totally ridiculous (actually kind of comical).  Example: $548 labor only + $48 trip fee to simply install a basic kitchen faucet.  Another plumber did the work, with a warranty, for $150.  Save your money and time  - call someone else!!!!

Never do business here without a 2nd opinion. I called them once when sewer backed up...within 20 mins it was all doom and gloom and they were trying to sell me a $10,000 new sewer line (but don't worry, they will finance it for you!). No other options given. I called around and was able to get the line open and cleaned for $250 and have had no issues since in 6 months. Hunter Hamilton took my call when I called in to let them know I was furious with the service and the sliminess of their serviceman. Hunter was very professional and I could tell truly felt bad that I felt like I had been taken advantage of - however, as long as they continue to pay guys like the one who came to my house on commission - the sliminess will continue!!! Beware and get a 2nd opinion always.

We needed to have a gas line ran for a gas range we had purchased. We have an unfinished basement, and the total distance they had to run was MAYBE a total of 15 feet, including routing around an I-beam. The technician took photos with his phone, and said he would go to his truck and draft up an estimate. The technician came back and said it would cost $2600 to run the line, and that he wouldn't be able to do it that day because he didn't have the parts. $2600!!! Then had the nerve to easily charge me $48 just for the visit. Just had another company run the line today for a total of $398! After asking around, many people advised me that they were a bunch of crooks, and that they do this all the time.  Some advice, don't trust the google reviews. Bob Hamilton Plumbing and Heating are absolute crooks!!! Save your money and avoid these people! Just noticed their terrible attempt to play the good guy in their response. I should have demanded the quote from the technician, but he wouldn't give it to me. The company that came out guaranteed their work, and was able to do it that day. They actually had the parts, yet didn't have the oversized truck that Bob Hamilton had. BH tech said he didn't even have the parts! 15 feet of pipe!

Looks like they don't honor their own promotions on their website. Called to schedule $99 main drain cleaning, talking to scheduler we were told it's $99 service and no extra charges....But final invoice was 168$. 120 for mainline and $48 for visit charge.

If I could give 0 stars I would considering they never showed up. My original appointment with them was made for Monday, so I took the day off. By 11AM they called and said they would not be able to make it that day and asked if Tuesday would work. So again I take the day off (not something I can afford or like to do to my fellow co workers) at 1030am they call and say I am next in line. I sit around the house waiting for them to come. At 4pm I call to check to see if they are still coming. They assure me they are still coming and that I am next in line (still). At 645pm a man named mitch (no last name cuz he refused to give it) called to tell me they would not be coming today at all. When I expressed my frustration about how they handle their business and how I have already missed 2 days of work for this he did not have an answer for me on how he and his business could rectify this situation. I know that for a fact with all the rain these past 2 days they were probably going to flooded basements for emergencies which they get more money for, but if that was the case why would you wait 10 hours to let someone know they won't be coming. Very unprofessional. I am an understanding person but I do not like when people waste my time like I have nothing better to do. Will be looking else where for plumbing.

We live in the country and have hard water so we have a water softener. When we had an issue with it, my husband wanted to give Bob Hamilton a try. The tech was competent and nice. However, he wanted to sell us a $4,700 water system because Nobody uses water softeners any more. We decided to forego that expense and called a plumber that had done some work for us previously. He ordered a new water softener for us and installed it for a total cost of $975. Since then we have been inundated with calls from their call center asking us to sign up for a yearly service plan for our AC/heat. We have told them numerous times that we are not interested; we have another company that handles those items. Yesterday we got two phone calls in the same day! Supposedly, they are going to make a note on our account so the phone calls stop. We'll see.

I don't think that you could do better with Bob Hamilton when it comes to service. I contacted them via Internet in the evening hours and they called me right away and the next day they scheduled a technician visit. Two men came out, extremely professional, and installed a new hot water heater. I certainly don't know about installation of a hot water heaters, but the work looks so much better, and sturdier than my old one (which was less than two years old).

I will not, however, use them again. The charge for the water heater and installation was $1800. I looked at prices online and none of the models--even those that far surpass mine in capacity-- cost anywhere near that. They identified a couple of items under my crawl space that they said needed fixing, an entrance valve and water line repair. They quoted $650 and I accepted. Barely one hour later they said the work was finished and it was only later that I realized that I'd paid probably about $500 an hour for labor. (Parts could not have been that expensive.) Barring a middle of the night can't live with it emergency I won't be calling them again.

It was my fault for agreeing to the work and price, and I told them to proceed. I just won't use them again. In retrospect, I should have waited to price out the work and should have asked for a pricing of labor and parts and the estimated time frame for completion. I do believe their customer service is great and exceptional and their techs are polite, professional and competent, but at that price I could wait a few days and even tolerate some rudeness.

WE called  for a drain that was clogged and they tried to sell my Wife a $1794.30 of work that was needed. They said we needed a new Garbage Disposal.($928.32 including clean out) We remodeled our Kitchen 2 years ago and had a new garbage disposal. They said we needed a new drain line and clean out($1078.49.) We have been in the house since 1994 and drain has only clogged twice. I called to complain and Paul the operation told me they have been in business 32 years so they must be  doing things right. From the other post confirms my idea they work on commission. When our 100 year old sewer line decided to not function anymore, we asked friends for a referral. Bob Hamilton came out and worked from dawn until dusk for almost 12 hours getting our plumbing functional. They took great photos and documentation of the offending roots that had infiltrated the clay piping at multiple junctures. They kept us updated on what they were doing and the finances associated with each step. They offered us 60month 0% financing through Wells Fargo and ensured that our bill was itemized so that we could send it to the insurance company. We were thankful we went to them. They were courteous, responsible, efficient, and responsive. Would recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing help large or small.

The 1 Star is for their promptness in responding and sending someone out, and the technician sent was friendly. If it wasn't for this, I would have a hard time giving 1 Star, except that I had to.
I had an issue with a water heater that went out, and it would not stay lit. I assumed it was a minor issue, and BH said they could come out to inspect and recommend options the same day. Given we have 3 kids and 2 adults in the house, a quick resolution is what we were looking for being without hot water.
When the technician came out he asked a few questions, checked out water pressure and then came back with several options.  He never inspected the actual heater, which I thought was surprising, especially considering the first option on his quote sheet was the fix the heater for $1,000 (yes, that was just to fix...). That fix he recommended ended up not being the issue either...
The other options he recommended included a new tank, new tank with expansion + 6 year warranty and new tank with expansion + 12 year warranty - all ranging from $2,000-3,200 (assuming I signed up for the home service plan, or else it would have been more).
It was clear they were pushing the replacement tank by pricing the repair so high, but their prices for a new water heater were something I would have never expected.
I was still charged a $40-50 service fee, even though the unit wasn't inspected. I should have I just told them I wanted a price quote for a water heater and I would have received the same service - for free.
Had a second opinion who actually inspected the unit, provided what the actual issue was and a more reasonable recommendation for a new unit.

Let me start by saying I called Bob to help with a plumbing issue a few months ago, while I was surprised at the cost I was happy with a quick resolution and didn't have time to shop around to find out if I was paying too much.  Fast forward to my HVAC issue. AC freezing over, they sent a tech out. 79.00 spent before setting hands on the unit. After 156.00 for a diagnostic the tech offered two options. $2,300 for 11lbs of R22 refill which does not include the actual repair to fix a leak. OR- $5000-$8000 for a new unit. I sent him on his way, having explained this house would be listed for sale soon I would prefer to offer the buyer a homeowners warranty than buy a new system. The following day I agreed to have their comfort specialist come out and quote a price and again, upon walking into he house and never looking outside at the unit I was quoted $8000.  In between these visits I was able to locate R22 online, available for about 16.00 per lb, not the 200.00 lb x 11lbs quoted by Bob. (Do your own search if you like, there are countless viable sources at this cost who offer free delivery). This caused me to ask the question locally, of 3 separate certified techs. All of whom had heard this story before and could only shake their head. One of them just left the house after getting us up and running and after throwing him a few extra bucks for a beer I spent 100.00. He topped me off with 4lbs of R22, not 11, examined the air handler and suggested he come back when/if I have trouble but not to do anything now.  I understand this is a bandaid. It may last a few months, it may last a few years, but that's what I asked for. Sadly, I spent 235.00 for Bob to send somebody out, to not fix anything, in an attempt to sell me a new system and to feed the revenue stream of marking up R-22 by 10x.
The tactics used along the way were very desperate... The R22 will be outlawed in 2020. True, but no mention there is a reasonable substitution refrigerant available for the system when that takes place. This gas is poisonous to the atmosphere and it's our obligation to move from it. You say you're selling this house? I don't know if this will pass inspection. I actually heard a story of a man who committed suicide in his truck by breathing this fuel, you have little kids here and I'm sure you don't want them exposed to it.  Yes, I kid you not, this was said although qualified by this is big house so I'm sure you're okay. We've been in this house for 4 years and it passed inspection, twice.
I made the mistake of believing the endless media spots equal viability and honest integrity. For a nice local, licensed option who works for himself give Larry Cook a call. 816 560 7996

I received a quote for $ 7900 for a replacement AC and furnace. Rheem 3TN AC and 75000BTU furnace. I had another contractor perform the EXACT same work with the EXACT same equipment for $3800.  They are a massively overpriced. PRICECHECK before using these guys. The $79 callout is acceptable but if I knew the repairs were going to be inflated so much, I would have saved the callout fee and called someone else. This is RIDICULOUS!  They quoted $200 / lb for R22. The going rate is less than $100. They quoted $280 to clean my outside condenser. Which would have consisted of cleaning the unit with a garden hose and a simple chemical.  They probably do a quality job and they are friendly. I would be too if I charged 2x everyone else for all services.  If you like your money, call someone else to diagnose the problem first and then call Bob Hamilton to see how they compare.  One additional phone call will save you hundreds, if not thousands.

Couldn't recommend less. Hired them to winterize my home and they didn't do it correctly apparently because when we turned the water back on there was 24 breaks in our pipes that cost us over $2,500 to hire another plumber to fix. We called and this Company's response was that any pipes could just break (24 times?!), even when winterized correctly which I don't find to be true  ‍

This was the first (and last) time we hired Bob Hamilton Plumbing.  We needed a bathroom sink drain pipe fixed and 2 bathroom faucets replaced.  The next morning we checked under both sinks and both sinks had leaks in the water supply lines and the drips from the drain pipes.  They sent the same plumber out and he worked on both sinks again and said We were good to go.  We checked after he left and both sinks still had leaks and drips under them.  One of the drain pipes was leaking worse than when the guy had come back out!  After calling them again for the 3rd time, they sent out one of their Master plumbers.  He as able to fix all the leaks and drips.  If they would have sent this guy out first I wouldn't be writing this review.  I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND BOB HAMILTON PLUMBING TO ANYONE.  I expect things to get done right the first time.  Their incompetence wasted my time.  It's obvious that these guys don't care if things get fixed correctly or not.  Like my wife said, their motto should be NEVER CALL BOB!.  I really wanted to give them zero stars but had to give at least one star to submit my review.

After receiving quotes from 4 different companies for a standard sink/ Garbage disposal install, I am shocked and appalled to report Bob Hamilton's quote came up over $1100 OVER the next highest quote.

Not joking, The quote from Bob was $1590 and the next highest was $500.

The other two quotes were $130 and $290.

What bothered me most about this interaction is the Plumber from Bob's insisted the prices were standard across the board.

I will never even call this company again. Should be shut down

I recommend getting a second opinion before letting this company do any work on your house or business. The plumber that came to my house tried to use scare tactics and high pressure sales techniques to get me to spend literally thousands of dollars when all I called them for was a leaky toilet. I was quoted over $1000 for a toilet replacement, and when I asked him how much the toilet cost and how much was labor he claimed he didn't know that information...? Are you kidding me who doesn't know what their parts and labor cost. I called a second plumber and he quoted me at $400 for a total replacement. I ended up buying a toilet and installing it myself. The whole task took under an hour and only cost me $175. This place is a rip off And they will try to scare you into paying outrageous sums of money on things that don't need to be replaced.

Tough call on Bob Hamilton. The two times I've needed emergency service they have answered the phone quickly and dispatched a truck within a couple hours (even on a Sunday night). Technicians are always friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. They map out the prices and options and give you the opportunity to ask questions.

My service yesterday was to replace a sump pump that broke during 2.5 inches of rain falling. Needless to say, the basement was a mess. I didn't have time to wait around for another estimate - I needed this fixed quickly. Within two hours of calling, a tech was out the house. The price was more than I wanted to pay but in line with other repairs according to Angie's List. Problem solved in one hour, friendly service, and good customer service.

I've contacted them other times about pricing other items around the house and they are overpriced. Standard water heater replacement and haul-away priced at $1,500 is too expensive. Battery back-up sump pump for $2,200? No way.

They do offer a preferred service plan for $9.95 a month that gets you a 15% discount on each item purchased, waiving the $48 service charge,  and two free HVAC tune-ups each year for free. I think this is a great deal. My normal HVAC guys charges $90 for twice a year tune ups - $180 vs. $119 at Bob Hamilton. I can get behind this!

If you have time to shop around, there are better prices than Bob Hamilton but you really can't beat their ease of scheduling, customer friendly techs, and quality of work.

$215 to reset a toilet??? Didn't pull it just put it back on. After a drain man came out and could not unclog they had to call a plumber. So $99 for drain man $199 for plumber plus $215 put the toilet back on. $500 and then they want to replace main line for $15500 for 125 feet. Beware beware!!!!

My fiance and three kids (age 13, 9, and 7 months) had problems with our 1995 system. The schedule was very busy when this happened, however we were seen quickly by a tech who diagnosed the issue. We had to consider a new system, which is never good news. Salesman Corky provided the options and made sure both we as tenants and our landlord understood what was offered. Once our landlord had chosen a new system, Corky offered to have Bob Hamilton help with our existing system amidst the heatwave weekend. The new system was installed faster than expected, however within a couple weeks there was an airflow problem. Once again, we were upon a weekend when the issue was discovered, but BH was willing to front any hotel bill we would incur due to the inconvenience. This ended up not being necessary as our technician Dustin arrived earlier than expected. We missed his call, so he could only work outside - however when we were home he came back to insure the problem was handled thoroughly. We have since enjoyed a state-of-the-art new system that has made our home comfortable and cool amidst the excessive heat temperatures. There has been great support and excellent service keeping our concerns theirs. Difficult processes have turned into smooth transitions, and we are very happy with Bob Hamilton!

Worst HVAC service I have ever received.  Told when I called that the fee was $79 for the tech to show up and diagnose problem.  First thing, the tech wants $135 additional to run a camera inside the furnace.  Was not told about that when I scheduled them.  When Comfort Specialist came later in the day to quote replacing system, I was told that I shouldn't have been told that on the phone.  He would give me names and numbers to call about it.  He never did, even after I emailed him asking for them.  I don't have a problem paying for a service, however I don't want to be tricked into having to pay for it.  The price I was quoted was 67% higher than the price I paid 10 months ago to replace identical system in another property I own.  Will never use this company again.

First and last time dealing with Bob Hamilton. I had a backed up sewer line that I knew needed to be Roto-Rootered because of some roots. They came out and ran the sewer line for 99$ although the blade they use was very small. For free, they came out to put a camera down which at first I thought was great until I realized it was a gimmick for them to quote me $6,000 - $9,000 to replace the whole line. It was amusing to see the service rep (one of the Hamiltons I think) try to tell me that these small areas were roots protruded meant that the line needed to be completely overhauled.

Just a few weeks later the sewer backed up again. I called and was told that they would come out for free one time as part of their warranty. Unfortunately the second visit using the Roto-Rooter did not work again. Called them a third time and was told that I need to pay $99 again to have it Roto-Rootered. My guess is that their price is lower than most so they can convince you to replace or fix the line for a lot more. WHAT A SCAM!!!

I then called KB Complete to come out and they cleared the line. The blade they used was obviously the proper size for the diameter of the sewer line. It's been several years since and I have had no further issues. I have also heard other friends and family tell me similar issues with Bob Hamilton. They cannot be trusted.

I am a current priority service customer with Bob Hamilton and couldn't get service today for an emergency.  When I finally got through a working line I was told that due to company holiday they couldn't get to me today.  I do understand that employees need a break but how about suggestions of other companies that you could partner with to cover your priority service customers when they are in their most desperate need? So disappointing.  Taking my business elsewhere.

Saturday night I realized that I had no hot water.  After trying unsuccefully to re-light the pilot light I elected to call two plumbing companies on Sunday morning. One was KB Complete who said they could have a technician at my house by 10:00 AM for a trip fee of $139 and the other was Bob Hamilton Plumbing who I called at 8:30 AM.  I chose to go with Bob because they told me a technician would be out the same day for a trip fee of $48.  I called them back at 11:15 AM to check the status of a technician and they told me that they did not have an ETA yet.  At 12:30PM someone called me to tell me they were running a short staff of techs and that they were trying to call in additional staff to get my hot water problem resolved.  The next time I heard from anyone was at 8:00PM.  The afterhours dispatcher that called said a technician could come out that evening but that I would have to pay the afterhours call rate of $150.  So because Bob decides to not staff to save money I have to pay triple the cost just to have someone even come look at my water heater, I think NOT!!! I am Beyond dissappointed and dissatisfied with this NON-Customer service!!! Needless to say I have elected to seek help from a more reputable plumber who actually delivers on what they say they will do.

We had a major backup in our kitchen sink that we were unable to unclog ourselves as well as a small leak in the basement. We called bob Hamilton on Saturday morning around 11- they told us someone would be out  later that day. We finally got a call around 730 pm stating  ' sorry- we can't get to you tonight but we will put you on the list for the first to be seen tomorrow morning. My husband called around 9 am to see what time to expect someone as we were first on the list. The person he spoke to had no knowledge of us being first in line- but again reassured us someone would be there soon. I called again at 3 pm that afternoon to get an eta and I was told your next- our tech is installing three toilets and we have no way of knowing when he will be done. Unbelievable! I will never use bob Hamilton for any reason- poor customer service and kept us waiting for over 24 hours for a service which was rectified within one hour from A-1.

Caution to people looking to hire Bob Hamilton Plumbing. We have our house up for sale and we got the $99 special main line opening. First, the guy forgot the camera the first time he came out, not a big deal. We rescheduled for today. When I called back to schedule the camera they told me they would not allow me to see any information about my house because I was selling it?? I asked why and they said because it's not information for you but rather for the new buyers. It's still my house! Nonetheless they didn't even show up today when they said they would. I would steer away from a company that thinks they have business in my house I'm trying to sell.

Somehow my mobile app posted this review to an account that wasn't mine...    So, to keep things on the up and up and prevent Yelp from thinking that I'm running multiple accounts, this is re-post, but worth reading if you are thinking about using these people....  Was supposed to get quotes for plumbing and electrical...  The original date set to show up was Friday, they called Friday afternoon to say they were too busy that day, they would be there on Saturday..  Saturday they didn't show or call.   I called Sunday and they said, oh, sorry, we put it down that we are scheduled today, but we don't have anyone to come out today, can we come on Tuesday...  So Tuesday morning they sent a plumber who wanted to run a gas line through a cold air return vent going directly into a gas furnace...   His exact quote, He does it all the time...  It required for me, the customer, to request he get a second opinion about code violations before he then decided that maybe that wasn't such a good ideal.  And the prices that they were asking or running 20' of flexible hose was over $1300...

They never sent an electrician to give me a quote, but after dealing with a plumber who had no business playing with natural gas lines, and prices that should make a real plumber blush, it's just as well...  I wouldn't trust them to keep my house from blowing up or burning down...

In my original post, I got a message asking for me to DM them about this, but even after DMing them, they didn't bother responding, which I never really expected them too anyway...  but it's worth noting, as I see lots of comments about how they are so concerned, let's talk about it where no one can see...  I wonder how many others never hear back from them after the pseduo concerned response?

Overpriced and incompetent!  I'm only giving one star because it won't let me give them zero!  They made us reschedule multiple times then were several hours late when they finally showed up.  He worked on our ac without even telling us he was there or what the issue was.  He charged us an outrageous amount including an after hours fee even though it was their fault he was there after hours.  The air conditioner still doesn't work.  I contacted the office to try and speak to someone about it and all I got was the run around. I left several messages for his supervisor and never received a call back.  I am beyond disgusted with this company! Fair warning to anyone thinking about using them, don't!

Will NEVER use this company ever again. We are an elderly couple living on a fixed income. I had just gotten out of the hospital for the 2nd time. BH came out to look at our water heater. He talked us into draining our savings account for a $3,000.00 water heater. He talked to use about their credit plan but I said we had good credit but we are on fixed income and we do not want any debt. Then he installed a 2nd water shut off valve without our permission, and after he left ALL the pipes started shaking (LOUDLY)! We called BH and they came out and was gonna write up another ticket to charge us to fix what he had done to us. (Plus he was going to charge us to remove a cabinet to get to the valve out when it wasn't necessary when he installed it} He said we could finance it. We didn't even ask for the price and asked him to leave. We called BH and they will not return our call. We feel that we have been robbed and set up for addition counts of robbery.

Always able to have a tech come to help!! esp. when its a crisis (like loosing AC during the peak of summer).  We continue to use them to upgrade our outdated furnace and AC units in our home.  Although they are not the cheapest,  they certainly make up with exceptional service and trustworthy personable sales resp. and techs!!! I would highly recommend them to anyone!!

These guys are typical contractor clowns.  Called on Dec 30 for service and was told nothing available until the next morning.  I was told they would call in the morning with an approx arrival time.  No call - no show.  Just a waste of my morning waiting for nothing.

I feel like I was completely scammed by this company.  I am a busy mom and my niece was just diagnosed with Leukemia.  I needed someone to come fix 2 dripping faucets and my tub faucet that was also dripping.  I was told that I needed to get a new water heater to fix the problem.  Exhausted from hospital stays, I just wanted something to be easy.  I wanted to have someone fix the problem and not take advantage-However, I have learned my lesson.  I will NEVER not get a second opinion.  I had the heater installed, to learn soon after that I was charged over double of what most other companies charge.  When I called to discuss this issue, I was told that when you hire Bob Hamilton plumbing, their prices are so much higher because the customer is essentially paying for training and benefits for their employees.  I did the math and they basically charged us over $225/per hour while my technician was here.  I negotiated $800 off the original price, but guess what?  One of the faucets is leaking again. I cannot tell you how frustrated I am.  If you would like a fair price and an honest technician, find another company.

We had a clog in a drain pipe from our washing machine. So I called Bob Hamilton. They came out the same day for only $49 and were very professional.

Spencer, the technician, did a visual inspection of the pipe which was already exposed in the garage and said he needed to run a diagnostic. I don't know what diagnostic he did but after 10 minutes he was finished and went back to his truck to write up a estimate of $7600! He recommend to fix the clog we needed to dig up my garage floor and replace the cast iron pipe below. Of course, I balked at the idea. Then he charged me $175 since he did a diagnostic.

The next day I called another local plumbing company and they cleared the clog for $145 in 20 minutes. No mention of a garage floor dig up or anything. Moral of the story: Bob Hamilton was more interested in the up sale and getting me into a 60 month loan than just fixing the problem at hand. I feel like they just stole $125 from me. I'm glad I got a second opinion.

I have actually had Bob Hamilton do a lot of work for me in the past, but the last few jobs I have really been gouged.  I understand that they are not the cheapest, but you think if you are a loyal customer who has paid them 10s of thousands of dollars over the years, that they would treat you better.  When I complained about the amount I was charged (over $400 per man hour) for the actual work that was done (after they reduced it from over $600 per man hour), I got the story about how well their people get paid and how great their benefits are.  That makes me feel better.

Every time I use BH I am very pleased with their service.  Last week Keith and Derek came out to snake a couple of my drains.  They were super polite, courteous, and went over the top to get the job done.  I appreciate their positive attitudes and their obvious knowledge with what they were doing.  I am comforted knowing BH is there for me when I need them:)

Technician was professional, courteous and did a great job. No complaints with his work. However, to replace an existing bathtub faucet they quoted over $1,500. I, of course, told him that was crazy and had a quote for $650 that I thought was too high. He left and came back 15 minutes later and offered to do the work for $650. What a horrible way to conduct business.

They offer a low $48 trip fee; but once they arrive, WATCH OUT. A 78 year old family member had them come over when I was out of town. They ran a snake down the kitchen drain to clear a clog, and charged $250 !!   In and out in 15 minutes.
She also had a kitchen sink faucet that was dripping and needed washers replaced...and was quoted a $300.00 price. I replaced it with a  $ 9.xx kit from Home Depot.  Talk about overcharging !!  Suggest ANY other plumber than this one.

I cannot believe what I have gone through with this company. I wasn't having any issues with my AC until after I called this company out just to service for the season. Tried turning on my AC unit after they came and it wouldn't even turn on. Had to have them come back out for the second time. I went to change my filter and noticed the condensation from the AC wasn't draining properly and there was no problem there once again before they came and worked on it. And now they are telling me there's a part thats cracked and thats why it's not draining correctly. This was not an issue prior to Bob Hamilton's technicians touching my unit. Not to mention, Ryan promissed me a credit back to my account which I still Do Not Have!!!  I called the office again today twice and was just put on hold for a very long time. Poor customer service, poor workmenship. I want my money back so I can call someone to now fix what they messed up. I will call them until I have a refund. This is ridiculous to put people through this. In all my years of dealing with any HVAC company this company is the worst! Call anyone else! Save yourself the headache.  Very disatisfied.

This past Saturday, my 75 year old mom reached out to your company in good faith, panicked because she didn't have hot water. A tech showed up and assessed her water heater. After he was finished, he told my mom, the hot water heater needed to be replaced, and he had a $2k or a $3k option available. She told him that she'd think about it and thankfully called another company that came out today. A very empathetic technician showed up, looked at my mom's water heater, and in no time he had found the problem. Her pilot light had gone out. What a great guy! Thanks to him, she now has hot water, and all for under $100. Bob Hamilton you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. You sending out a technician that doesn't know the difference between a pilot light that was out, and a hot water replacement, is completely fraudulent business behavior. I don't believe for a second, other than the over inflated estimate left behind, your company has the nerve to be fine with misleading an elderly woman, to the tune of over $2k. However, there are plenty of bad reviews, and price gouging seems to be what you teach your technicians. Given the crisis that our nation is going through, I guess your representative saw an opportunity, and attempted to scam my already scared elderly mom, into buying a product she clearly didn't need. I bet that a brand new tech, on his first day in the field, could have figured out her problem. Again, this was no accident. I can only imagine how mad you would be, if a local company, targeted your elderly mom, like you did mine. I guess I should thank you for reminding me that fancy truck wraps and TV commercials don't make your company honest.

Called a little before 3pm on 5/27 because our basement was flooded. Received a confirmation email thanking us for the opportunity to serve us.  At 9pm we were still waiting.  We called them, and the night dispatcher said there was no record of us even calling in.  He said he would have someone out there within the hour.  They weren't, so we called and cancelled.  Called back early Saturday morning  to report the bad service, and the day dispatcher apologized all over herself and said she'd get someone out as soon as possible.  Some technician came out, took a very cursory look, and said there was nothing he could do because there was too much water on the floor.  Hello -- we told you there was water on the floor.  That's why you were called in the first place! He told us he thought it was a problem with the city line, and walked out. Really?  You can't fix our flooded basement because it's flooded?? Called JoCo Wastewater, they said it wasn't a problem with their line.  We called another company; they came out, diagnosed the problem, and FIXED IT!  Imagine -- plumbers who were willing and able to fix a plumbing problem!  Call Bob Hamilton at your own risk.  I'm sticking with professionals from now on.

After the decision was made to replace my a/c unit instead to repair it, what impressed me the most was how fast Chris was able to come to my home on a Saturday and give me a good quote on what a new unit would cost. As I have several health issues this was a great relief to me.

I scheduled a plumber and an HVAC person, was willing to get on their service plan.  The plumber wanted $250 (that was the discounted rate if I joined the service plan) to replace a float in the back of the toilet!  The HVAC person did not show for the morning appointment, they called at 12:30 and cancelled....after I took a (now wasted) day from the office.

A very friendly technician did our AC and furnace check a couple of weeks ago. We don't have any problems right now but we did have someone come and give us a quote, his name was John. He was very professional and no high pressure sales which we love. When we are ready we will definitely go with Bob Hamilton because of their initial no pressure sales visit.

I purchased a home with a Lennox HVAC recently installed by Bob Hamilton plumbing,  according to the previous owner.  Based on how poorly they installed this system,  I will not let them work on my house. Improperly installed ductwork and humidifier.

We called Bob Hamilton Plumbing because we thought tree roots in the main sewer line was the problem.  The issue was worse and involved replacing a corroded section of line from the house to the outside clean out.  All went well, except the crew left the clean out about 8 inches above the ground surface.  The clean out is in a high traffic area and is certainly a safety issue not to mention very unsightly.  Four phone calls with empty promises of getting the problem resolved have had no results. I was told I would be called back by Tameka who handles complaints, nope.  The crew would be out on a scheduled time and date, nope.  We'll be by tomorrow, nope.  The tall clean out could easily be lowered.  They got our money.  No follow through on customer complaints.

Zero stars. My elderly parents, 90+, called for a small drain issue. The tech who came out told them it would cost $259 which in and of itself is ridiculous. Then to show what a crock that is he said he would call in and negotiate to see if possibly it could be a different price. Call this preying on the elderly 100%. I'm just sorry I wasn't able to be there at the time of the service call. First and foremost a business should have fair prices set, period. No way would I ever recommend this company and for sure everyone in our entire extended family will be certain to tell the tale of this mornings adventure. Shady for sure. (I tried to give zero stars but it wouldn't allow that. Too bad.)  After further review.....I see they have unacceptable business practices across the board. The bad reviews should be front and center so people can see just how far reaching this goes.

I called Bob Hamilton because they are excellent at advertising and had seen them all over. Customer service was great, scheduling was easy, my technician was knowledgable and courteous. I was completely comfortable with their standard $79 service fee and paying extra $65 for after hours service to have someone there same day. Unfortunately I had to decline the service once it was quoted and continue shopping around because their pricing is predatory in nature, taking advantage of its customers. My system needed to be refilled with R22 refrigerant which can be found at multiple online retailers for $450-$500 for a 30lb canister (about $16.50/lb and an AC system only needs a few pounds). I was quoted $152 for my first pound and $113/lb after. On top of that it was $582 to diagnose the leak in my system, plus whatever they wanted to fix it once it was identified. I understand needing to turn a profit, but after some shopping around I realized Bob Hamilton is taking advantage of its customers in peak HVAC season because most home owners don't know where they should be priced. After some shopping I was able to find a local company (Holsinger Heating and Cooling) that fills for $40/lb and  then identified AND fixed my leak for $100, also same day service. In total I saved over $800 by shopping around just a little bit. Bottom line: Make a few calls, and don't let the great marketing campaign fool you into believing Bob Hamilton is an honest company. You can do better.

I wish I had filmed the service call.  It would have made an amusing YouTube video.  I called these guys because in the middle of a simple faucet repair (replacing a cartridge), I was unable to remove the bonnet nut from my kitchen faucet. Every time I turned the nut, the entire handle would turn.  I need different tools or a different technique.  I figured I was better off calling a professional than spending the rest of my Saturday trying to figure things out. The technician arrived a couple of hours after my call.  I was happy he came so quickly on a Saturday, because my family had plans for the day.  I figured the repair would take about an hour and then he'd be on his way.  I tried to explain to him what went wrong, and encouraged him to remove the faucet handle so he could see the source of my problem.  This would have taken possible 10-15 seconds, depending on his skill with an allen wrench.  He wouldn't do it.  Instead, he said he could rebuild the faucet for $450 (plus the $49
dispatch fee) or install a new faucet for $900.  I was surprised to hear I might need a new faucet as the house is fairly new.  I asked whether he could take a closer look to tell me if a new faucet was really necessary.  Again, he refused.  He said if he touched the faucet, it was $450 for the rebuild.  I asked him what rebuild entailed, since I only needed to remove a but and replace a cartridge (which I already had and which cost perhaps $30 at Home Depot).  He just repeated his price and urged me to go with the new faucet, since it came with new connectors and a guarantee.  I asked him to at least look at the problem, so he could help me decide what to do.  He refused for a third time, and reiterated that my choice was $450 rebuild or $900 new faucet.  I didn't think I needed either of these things, and since he was unwilling to explain to me otherwise, I paid the dispatch fee and sent him on his way. It was clear to me I called a (bad) salesman rather than a professional plumber.  I wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone.  The funny thing is, I probably would have paid him every nickel he asked for if he just looked at the faucet and explained what he was going to do and why it was necessary.

I called for an estimate on an HVAC upgrade to my coil and outdoor compressor. What I received was a snake oil salesman who quoted my whole new system options. Let me give you the facts. My quote for a 3ton system (electric furnace) was almost $8,400. They wanted $1,000 extra for a ducting run from the basement to the 2nd floor.
I received similar quotes with better efficiency units from C&S for over $1,400 less. I received the quote I WANTED from an independent contractor for about $3,330 dollars TOTAL.
I could have wasted $6,000!!!
The HVAC business is ripe with ripoff artists. BEWARE. The fact that Yelp has had to filter 36 reviews... that is right 36 reviews!... due to shills and plants with fake profiles put on here to boost ratings should tell you all you need to know.
You can still get a quote, but you better get other quotes!

I was told by this company that I needed my sewer line replaced at the cost of $12,500-$14,000.  I learned that this company works 100% on commission.  My sewer line only needed a simple clean out and to have the roots removed.  DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!
