We were looking for someone to change out our electrical panel and started calling various business to get a quote. Wes Carver seemed very professional, and their technician Todd was extremely knowledgeable. He showed up on time, answered our questions, and laid out our options for us.

Then at the end of his estimate, he asked how I wanted to pay for the visit.

I understand that a lot of businesses charge a dispatch fee, but maybe you should tell the people who are asking you to come out that there's a fee to get a quote (not even work) rather than blindside them with a charge on the day of the visit.

We didn't even look at the estimate and will not be planning to use Wes Carver for any work in the future, nor would we recommend them to anyone.

I highly recommend this business for all your electric needs. Damon came back today to sparkle the brand new fixture he installed about a week ago. I have always used Carver because it's a solid business.

We found WCE last year after the severe weather storms in July. Our house took a beating from electrical surges. We had them come out and they fixed everything that they saw at the time. We even had them install a whole house surge suppressor on the panel. Our tech Greg is great. Since the first time coming out they have come back due to some warranty service. they have been great about everything. They stand behind everything they do and  didn't fuss about coming back to fix it. I have dealt mostly with Greg S, our tech and Caitlin. They are both great. While WSE isn't the cheapest electricians in the area, you do get what you pay for. I have dealt with other low cost companies in the past and will continue to use WSE. they are the best.

Thanks Guys!

The team completed the job well but they give a quote only upon arrival and you are stuck because you arranged for the work to be done that day. it turns out the price exceeded that of another area business by 3x (effective labor rate of $270 per hour! Versus $89/hour for (Bergey's Electric) who I checked with after this job, my mistake.  Upon completion of the job I called to request a price break because the work also took 3 hours vs. estimated 4-5 hours and that was with significant waiting time while the first electrician was waiting for someone else to take over so he could go to another job.  They said that they charge by the item, sorry.  That type of premium is unwarranted so highly recommend seeking other options.

Another project completed successfully by Wes Carver Electric. After upgrading my home from 100 to 200 amp service in 2019, this most recent project was small by comparison but no less important to us. Andrew came out to convert an old breaker dedicated to a long-since removed hot tub into an outdoor electrical outlet that would allow us to plug in our new outdoor landscape lighting. Andrew was on time, professional, friendly and thoughtful in explaining the project, costs and reviewing the work on completion. He was also great with our two older Labrador retrievers who are always curious about visitors. As always, we'll be calling Wes Carver Electric for our next project, large or small.

I'm very happy I chose Wes Carver Electric to replace my light fixtures. They also included a free inspection of my panel and smoke detectors. Jon and Kyle were knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. I would absolutely use this company again and highly recommend them.

Called Wes Carver Electric for a GFCI on an outlet to be repaired.
Showed up a 1/2 hour late and tried to upsell the job for 20 minutes.
Basically was going to cost $250.00 to evaluate the problem. $69.00 to give me a sales pitch. paid the $69.00 and said goodbye.

I've tried scheduling a visit at my home three times now, and I have yet to receive a call back. The answering service is taking my info, but no one has ever called from the office. There isn't a listed number to reach the office directly, so I just need to wait for them to respond I guess. It's been two weeks, and still nothing. Extremely frustrating

Sorry I can no longer recommend.  They had completed almost $2,000 worth of work at my home last year and I had another approximately $1,000 worth of work to complete.  When I called to schedule an estimate I was told that there was a $59 dispatch fee which was NOT credited if they did the work.  How silly and greedy for a company to not waive such a s fee for a customer that has spent such a significant amount of money.  As the other reviewers state, they are a fee first electrician house.

I told them to cancel the estimate ...there are plenty of electricians around.

I give two stars just because they were nice people.   Holy crap tho are they expensive.  Gotta pay just to come out and then they give you a quote for the project and you feel like it is a hard project.  I am a first time home buyer and I think they took advantage of that.   I had them do some simple electric work and had some quotes on other projects.   Three times the price I've been quoted by others.  And the work they did I have been told should have been way less.   So hire them if you want nice people and spend way more than you should or hire someone else and just get the work done.

We needed our stove replaced. We also needed an outlet installed for  said stove cause our condo was still hot wired to our old unit. Andrew came on time at 8:20 am. Installed this outlet same day. My husband was home while I was at work but had nothing but great things to say. A little pricey but for fast quality work, I cant complain. Thank you for your fast reliable service. I will be using this company in the future. Side note they also send you a picture of whos coming and their name which is very helpful when letting someone in your home.

I am so upset with this company . I had a come out with an issue with lights in my basement. None of them work .  I am almost retired and live alone . He first wanted to charge me $300 to figure out the issue .  He ended up telling me to replace all 15 light bulbs ( without showing me how ) that apparently all burned out at once . I was able to replace one but the fixture itself seems loose so my one bulb did not work. I am back to finding someone will help that won't rip me off .  I guess they want the big jobs and not helping a neighbor . That guy knew he was dumping it back in my lap and I would have to find some one else .  I also asked for a quote on replacing a fluorescent fixture and he gave me this that was totally out of line . He knew it. They don't want my business.

Customers beware!

I had a quote provided by this company yesterday for some recessed lighting in a few rooms. These rooms included the family room, kitchen and living room. Each room was to have dimmer switches installed with a total of 17 recessed lights. Our house is a rancher with easy access to the backside of all ceilings through an attic accessible by permanent stairs - the easiest method of access imaginable.

We were absolutely shocked at the quote of over $6,000. We were so shocked that we called the company later in the afternoon for them to confirm that there wasn't some sort of mistake made on the quote. A woman called back to confirm the number was indeed correct. I was really upset at the thought that my project would be so much more money than I originally anticipated. It actually ruined my day.

Today I had another licensed electrician come out and quote us for the same job, including some additional work on some outlets that need to be looked at, for just $1,620. Though he is typically super busy, as confirmed by our general contractor who recommended him, he can do the work in just one day with a helper tomorrow!

I can't recommend Wes Carver Electric based on what appears to be price gouging despite the positive reviews on here. In fact, the positive reviews on here is what inclined us to give Wes Carver Electric a call. We were left with a very bitter taste for giving them a chance to quote our work and will not call again in the future.

Words of wisdom to all: Always get additional quotes and don't reward companies that try to make weekly money in a day. This price was so high that it gave me a nose bleed. Customers beware!

Edit to respond to response:

I appreciate your cordial response, but I think you've missed an opportunity to address the real concern. My concern was not that your service uses inferior products or that your employees are uneducated in their trade; rather, my concern was that your pricing is unethical, which you did not specifically address.

Perhaps you did not because it is difficult to defend the breakdown of the costs associated with this job. Even if you had to put 20 hours into it, which would be a generous allotment of time, and say $1k in materials, which is overstating the materials cost by a ton, you still can't make this job make sense for $6k. Simple math puts the net hourly rate with your quote under that scenario at $5000/20 = $250 per hour. Mind you, that would be at minimum what you'd be charging hourly because the estimate was in fact over $6k, and there's no way you'd need $1k in materials or even 20 hours to do this job.

I normally don't leave reviews, and I've had some experiences with bad quotes with other companies before, but this takes the cake by a long shot. In fact, I've overpaid knowingly for some services to get what I wanted or needed when it was justifiable. But there's no way I can justify $250+ per hour for this. Honestly, can you even justify it? You're not a surgeon. You're not a lawyer. You're not even in a trade that merits the rate of an off-hours plumber. Your cost is completely exploitative, and I hate to think of the financial trouble you've left other customers in who have unwittingly paid for your services at these rates.

As you can tell, I'm really unhappy that your company attempted to overcharge my family by that much with this quote. Standing behind your pricing not only once but now twice doesn't make it any better for me. I really suggest you rethink your business model to accommodate the hardworking families in the area. While we make more than enough to afford the service of an electrician, we'll never be irrational enough to pay these rates. I hope others see this review and save themselves the grief of being shell-shocked by a quote like this.

Not pleased with the service me and my family where presented by this electrical contractor. After reviewing the estimate the rates where outrageous. I would think that their honest people out there but this is not one of those companies. We went with another contractor who did the work under budget and on time! Beware here.

I tried contacting you and no one answers??? What kind of business is this?

Wow!  Andrew & Chris did a great job removing and installing my two story foyer chandelier.  I really appreciate their knowledge and attention to detail.  The fixture was ordered online and had a small mechanical defect.  The guys figured it out and got it working in no time.  They left my house cleaner than when they found it.  There were more than a few cobwebs near the fixture and foyer window. I feel like their service is worth every penny.

Another electrical issue at the house and of course I called Wes Carver.  Since my last review I called with an emergency which ended up being a stupid mistake on my part.  The Wes Carver electricians spent hours in my house going over everything until the issue was discovered and never charged me a dime.  It was my fault, they spent a lot of time here and NO BILL.  When I called and asked for the bill the office staff said, no charge, we love our customers.  So, when I needed to replace some high hat and ceiling fans, I called again.  I was not disappointed.  Luke came out and spent a good portion of the day making sure everything was perfect.  He was an absolute gem.  I have yet to meet a staff member who wasn't a gem.  And reasonably priced too.  If you have electrical needs, Wes Carver should be your first and only call.

I am currently in the process of selling my house and the inspector gave me a list of several electrical items that needed to be fixed. Everyone at Wes Carver was very nice and the technician very knowledgeable. What I want people to be aware of is the pricing. I'm sure for big jobs or all encompassing jobs the pricing is competitive, however, I would not recommend this company for the type of work I had done. I had to have three outlets replaced, two dead fuses put into empty slots and a bonded wire clamped to my water meter. All total about 90 minutes to do. My bill was over $600 and I supplied the outlets or it would have been close to $800. Each outlet cost me $85 and each fuse cost me $85. That is $85*5 plus $153 for a piece of wire and two clamps. I am not an expert but that seems a bit extreme. Admittedly I could have said no but I am under a time crunch and with the pandemic I wanted to minimize the traffic in my house. I have nothing bad to say about the staff just the pricing for smaller jobs.

Just had Jason and JJ from Wes Carver replace our outside line, exterior box, and interior fuse box. They were prompt, polite, and professional. And undisturbed by our loud obnoxious dogs. I will definitely use Wes Carver for any future electrical needs.

I hired Wes Carver Electric to research and repair several switches that did not seem to work in my home. The booking and pre appointment reminders and procedures were stellar, with the name and photograph of the technician who would provide service.

The service rep arrived on time and reviewed my needs with me. He was very efficient in determining the causes of the problems as well as follow-through with repair.

The only complaint that I have is with two switches that were bad and needed to be replaced. The color of the original switches were almond, but the rep only had ivory or white on his truck. I chose white to get the working switches, but the difference in the colors on the two switch banks is very noticeable, so I will have the added expense of purchasing almond switches and replacing them myself.

I mentioned this issue to Michelle on her follow up phone call the day after my service appointment and she did say that she would look into the issue and get back to me. However, this is Day 3 following the appointment and I have not heard anything from her. I have no idea if she is still working on the issue or if it has been dropped.

Jason and Michele have been great to work with, from start to finish.  Communication was excellent while we worked out the details of the work we wanted done.  When it came time to get the job done, Jason showed up on schedule and executed perfectly, all the while keeping us informed of progress and letting us know if there were decisions we needed to make.  They kept us informed up front about cost, so there were no surprises when it came time to pay the bill.  We definitely recommend them and plan to work with WCE again.

I scheduled an appointment with Wes Carver Electric for September 16; they called on Sept. 14 to reschedule.  I couldn't get an appointment until October 2.  I asked for 2 outlet replacements and an existing porch light replacement.  When I asked Andrew if he had two light bulbs on the truck for the porch light, he said he did, but they would cost $80.  Fortunately, I was able to find some of my own. Andrew told me I also needed work on the breaker box in the basement. He spent about 3 hours here, a lot of that time was spent in his truck writing up an incredibly long estimate, showing my costs could be anywhere from $7288 to $1122.  I chose the $1122 for the work stated above.  I've used WCE in the 2015, but never found them to be so expensive.  I'll look for another electrician.

I am so glad I chose Wes Carver Electric.  We just bought our first home in Horsham and  minutes after the settlement, our basement and living room lights went out.  Seems to have been an issue with the circuits.  We were referred to Wes Carver Electric by our realtor.  They were able to get someone out quickly on a tight schedule.  John came to our house right on the clock and fixed our issues.  He found the problem and was able to fix the issue on the spot.  He was very professional and had excellent bedside manner.
Also, Michelle, who answered the phone to schedule us, was very polite and was a delight to talk to.  I would recommend to anyone looking for a great electrician!

I used yelp to find a electrical contractor to complete a number of jobs around the house as I haven't been too happy with some of the work done on our home in the past. All Star and Wes Carver were the 2 I called for estimates based on Yelp reviews. Wes Carver's technician, Kyle, showed up promptly at 0930 and immediately began to try to find the best cable location to initiate snaking a cable to a room that had no cable outlet. This alone took a half hour as the house is older and the drop ceiling in the basement is a pain in the butt to deal with. I was impressed with Kyle's determination and decided to just go with Wes Carver for the job. I called All Star at 1015 to cancel my 1200 appointment for the estimate and was greeted with an upset individual who a: asked why I was cancelling, b: said it was very short notice to cancel, and c: was a bit surprised I had scheduled another company for an estimate. This person then hung up on me. So, All Star is now on my NEVER going to use list, which is pretty short.
So Kyle and Jason, who showed up later as the snaking job was definitely a two man job, busted their tails to finish the jobs I had to complete.
In freezing cold, windy conditions on 11 Feb 2016, they replaced 2 older motion detector lights with new models, they replaced 2 front door sconces and capped off an external front door hanging chandelier. Additionally, one of the new motion detector lights I had purchased for replacement was the wrong model. They brought it to my attention, removed it from the exterior wall, continued on the other jobs while I ran to Home Depot to buy the correct model.
Finally, the cable snaking job turned to out to be fairly difficult as they had to run the cable through some joists and other obstacles in my not too spacious attic. Great job by both of those guys in very tough environmental conditions.
I was impressed with the timeliness, effort and focus of both Kyle and Jason throughout the day. Their prices were about mid-level for the jobs I had them complete, not inexpensive, but not unreasonable by any means.  I will certainly use Wes Carver as my primary electrical contractor from this point on and highly recommend them to anyone.

We just today had Jason come out to do what we thought were a few minor fixes and install a Ring at our front door. Jason was on time, very friendly and very knowledgeable. He was able to fix all of our problems and even some we didn't know we had!  We are now up to date with our outlets which is a relief!!!  I would definitely recommend Wes Carver Electric.

Called Frater's first after a quick Google search.  The person who took my call was pretty dismissive of one of the small jobs I wanted to have done and spoke to me about it like I was a child, basically discouraging me from having it done.  Then when I told her about two other issues  and said I would like to get an estimate on the work, she said there was no way to do that because they didn't know what they would find once they started looking around.  She took my number and said an electrician would call me to talk about it more and maybe they could give me a ball park figure.  I then called Wes Carver Electrical and instead of being vague about what we would owe, I was told that they would send someone out who would do all the trouble shooting for a set (reasonable) fee.  Then we would get an actual, detailed estimate.  I thought this made a lot more sense than just letting someone come start the work with no idea of what the final bill would be, and I understand that I can't expect a professional to waste an hour or more poking around for free.  The person I first spoke to was friendly and did not act like I was an idiot.  I received a call back about scheduling an appointment shortly thereafter and we were able to get an appointment very quickly (this was all set up before Frater's even got back to me).  The electrician sent to our house, John, was very friendly and professional.  He pointed out why certain things wouldn't work, or would not be cost-effective, instead of simply saying yes to everything we asked for just to rack up a huge bill.  He explained things clearly and was very thorough.  At one point he double checked with me about the cost of one the tasks before starting it just to confirm that I was ok with spending the money on it.  I feel that we got our money's worth and we will definitely use Wes Carver any time we need an electrician in the future.

WCE repaired the electrical supply to my shed after it was damaged by a fallen tree branch.  They also replaced the knob and tube wiring and a light fixture in the shed to make it modern, and repaired a broken receptacle in my basement.  Andrew did great work & accommodated my family needs very well -- my 2 year old napped fine while he worked!  Everything went smoothly from estimate to completion and our home's electrical systems are working well now.
