I used Roland's services 2 years ago to unclog a main line in the back and now the sewer line in the front gave me problems!

Fortunately, he squeezed me into his busy day on a moment's notice and worked well after sundown to finish the job.

So i'm not sure words can describe the work Roland performs. My wife and I bought our first house and were excited to get in and start living it up. Unfortunately the house was winterized and had been without water for a while. So we needed Roland to turn on the water and help us with the waterworks that were soon to come. Needless to say, as soon as the water was turned on, there was water leaking out of what seems to have been every hole in the house. Roland and Ben quickly got to work identifying where my leaks were coming from and patched them up. I never knew how nice it was to flush a toilet in my life, but Roland made me fully aware of how awesome it was haha.

Exceptional services with Roland; I tried contacting multiple plumbers and no response. I decided to look on yelp and see if I could find someone to look at my possible leaking water heater.  I requested a quote an recieved immediate response. Roland was able to come out within 1 hour 1/2. I will defintely being using his &company's  services again.

THIS PLACE BLOWS!!! DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY!!!

I called and got a plumber last Friday - 8 days ago - to come fix both our kitchen sink and upstairs bathroom sink. He charged $495 and said he was done and everything was fixed and he was going to come back the next day to replace the little screw-in drain thingy in the bathroom sink. I was not home for his visit, my roommate was, and my roommate is blind, which is neither here nor there except that it only makes the plumber more of a prick.

He never came back on Saturday, AND our kitchen sink STILL does not drain. I have called them every single day at all different times and no one ever answers, AND their goddamn mailbox is full. So I'm out $495 and I still have to get another plumber to come fix my damn sink. Thanks for nothing.

This place could literally not be worse.

He left me waiting 1.5 hours after the call and I finally got a hold of him and he was still 20 minutes away and had no consideration to call.

Roland was great!! Proactive and timely. I sent out a request and heard from him within 24 hours and he made a point to come out within 48 hours even though it wasn't an emergency. He simply fixed my clogged sink without trying to sell me on other services or repairs. Appreciate his due diligence!

Roland and Ben arrived within the timeframe given, very respectful of my time and home. Diagnosed the issue quick and got to the root of the problem. Was able to give clear recommendations on how to resolve my plumbing issue. Didn't expect a dollar more than the price he quoted me after he diagnosed the issue.

I originally contacted this service, but I went with another based on price. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. Ultimately I contacted Roland again and was scheduled that same evening. He listened to what I had to say and asked all of the right questions. Roland immediately dismissed the extreme next steps recommended by the last guy. My issue was repaired with ease that night. He knows his stuff!

I contacted Roland to get a quote on a backed up storm drain; he got back to me quickly and scheduled the estimate for less than 48 hrs later. He came out and showed us how to plunge the drain ourselves, and explained what to look for in the future and why the backups can occur. He was up front, honest, and transparent--not looking to just run with your money like some other companies! I got another quote a few days ago for several hundred dollars to unclog the drain that Roland taught us how to do ourselves. He was so friendly and professional; this was a great experience! I highly recommend Roland and will be keeping his info handy in case of any future issues.

I called for a quote and they called and told me how much it would cost to fix my toliet. I then made a appointment for the work to be done...first appt no show! Dude told me he lost me number. Yep lost my number and that he would be at my house the next day to do the work. GUESS WHAT NO SHOW NO CALL AGAIN! RUN DONT WALK THIS COMPANY IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! WASTED TIME!

Called them based on other 5 star reviews after finding water leaking from the garage ceiling.

Jamel showed up the next day, with his very polite apprentice plumber :) son , took one look at the caulking in my shower (sits on top of the garage) and identified the culprit.  Did not charge me anything, even gave me tips on how to fix it myself, told me I could do it for $25 as opposed to paying him $180.

I had water in my basement and thought I knew the source. I called Personal Plumbing and Roland & Tauhid came out the same evening. I scheduled my service for next morning. Long story short, after investigating, the guys found out that in addition to my drain issue, I had a bigger problem that required a different contractor.
They took the time to show me exactly what the problem was and did an execellent, quick job cleaning my drain. They even moved my washer & dryer to save them from water damage!
Hopefully I won't have any major plumbing issues in the future. But if I do, I'm glad I found Personal Plumbing. Knowlegable, prompt, and personable.

This is a great plumbing company. I called them on Friday afternoon and left a message. Less than two hours later, they called back and booked an appointment with us for Saturday morning. So, I have to say their follow up was a relief, since some of the other top rated plumbers on Yelp never responded to my voicemails. Also, as promised, they showed up between the hours of 10a-12p.

Roland and Moses were experienced. They took their time to research the problem, which made us feel that they were committed to fixing our issue - not rushing through it to get to another appointment. They were professional in their recommendations and worked diligently to fix the leak on our second floor (which, unfortunately, was inside one of our walls). They were able to find the source of the leak and fix it, so that it would stop leaking through the ceiling of our first floor.

All in all, I would recommend them. They kept their appointment time, fixed our problem and managed to make us laugh a bit in the process!

I dreaded calling a plumber to have one of my toilets repaired. However I was pleasantly surprised at the exemplary service I received from when I called to schedule the appointment to when the repair was completed.

They were very flexible and able to get a plumber to me at my convenience - a Saturday afternoon.

On the day he was scheduled to arrive, Jamel called to give me a shorter window for his arrival. I appreciated this as it allowed me the opportunity to run errands.  Once her arrived, he was able to quickly assess the issue and took the time to explain what was wrong. He then told me what parts were required for the fix and gave me the option to purchase them myself or have him do it. I needed some other stuff at HD so I did it. Easy breezy. We rescheduled - again at my convenience - another time for him to return to complete the work. I was so impressed I referred him to a neighbor.

On the day of, he called 30 minutes before arrival and completed the job quickly with zero mess. In addition to being great at his job, Jamel is also very personable which helped to make it an even better experience.

I hope I won't need a Plumber for awhile but whenever I do, Personal Plumbing will be my first choice and I'll always request Jamel.

I was looking for a plumber in Philadelphia area.  The problem was, I lived in Ventura, California.  I didn't know who or where to look, except on YELP.  As I was looking, I didn't find too many good reviews for plumbers in the Philadelphia area, except for one..........PERSONAL PLUMBING.  They had 6 good reviews, and the reviews sounded pretty good.  

I called them up and told them about my situation, and it was my Mom's house with the Drain problem in Wynnewood, PA.  They came out and assessed the problem.  One of the main pipe stall was clogged.  The on-site plumber quoted me the price before the work started, within an hour and half.  The problem was fixed.  I was a happy camper!!!

PERSONAL PLUMBING was very professional and courteous.  I would definitely use them again.

Called for plumbing repairs two weeks ago. Left a detailed message. No response. No stars.

I've called them at least 6 times, left 2 vm, sent 1 Yelp message over the course of 2 solid weeks and have still had ZERO response.

Great service for a reasonable price. I have been using these guys for a few years now and they still respond promptly and do an excellent job for a fair price. Most recently they came out to clear a clogged sewer drain. They explained the job, gave the quote, and quickly got to work when I accepted it. They left the area in the basement as if nothing had happened, nice and clean.

Have to update to one star.  After being replaced, my main drain was clogged again about 6 months later.  I called and they scheduled someone to come out, but nobody showed up.  Eventually Jamel followed up (he remembered me from before and had overheard someone's conversation).  He said they had assigned him to come out that day even though it was his day off.  He was able to come out the next day to unclog the drain.  Jamel was great.  However, my drain is now clogging up AGAIN and I had the same experience others have had with trying to get through to them.  The mailbox was full when I tried to leave a message.  Then finally I got through and was able to leave a message.  Today I hadn't heard anything so I called back.  The voicemail message sounded like someone's personal voicemail.  Not even sure these guys are still in business.  At the very least they are very disorganized.

GREAT! GREAT! SERVICE! Ok I need more stars...the service was excellent from the start. My main drain was totally backed up and I needed service quick. I requested a quote online and the said they needed to see the problem and would give me a free estimate...WHAT! No service fee who does that now a days. They stayed in contact with me and arrived earlier than expected. Roland the service tech was polite and got right to identifying the problem. The price was more than reasonable and he didn't do a half-way job. I highly recommend using Personal Plumbing & Drain Cleaning for all your plumbing needs. Thanks alot guys and congrats on your recognition by the city as a great company in 2015. 2016 is starting off great! One happy customer

I called these guys because of a leak in my ceiling .I actually got number from yelp and they have great reviews..the work was excellent price was fair I will call if needed again..

This is truly a great plumbing company.  When my garbage disposal jammed, I called them at 10am and by 6pm, it was fixed.

Both father and son were great on the phone, assuring me that they would do an assessment for free and ultimately, they charged $80 to fix the disposal and gave me some suggestions for how to fix the issue on my own in the future.  

If there was a sixth star, I would give it because this is a great team of guys who I would suggest to anyone.

Its 11:15pm and Roland and Tauhid just left.I had a kitchen drain thats been clogged for weeks and Roland and Tauhid came in and had my kitchen drain back to normal in no time..he even did a little extra work with no charge..Please call these guys and dont do like I did initially and had some jack leg come and tell me a bunch of bull and only fix the problem for a day

I had water  near my washer & dryer and a backed up basement sink. A tech came out when scheduled and clearly explained the problem. Great customer service. They did a great job.

These guys replaced the water heater and fixed a leak in the toilet base. They were able to give me an estimate on the same day.

All of my reviews involve someone coming to my rescue and today was no different. An unpleasant sniff and a worried jaunt into the basement revealed a flood, a backed up drain and no plan.  

After our regular plumber wasn't able to make it out, we called Roland and now we have a new plumber!  We called late in the day and he willingly came after five, explained the options, pumped the drain and was as pleasant as could be.

We got great service, a great price and a great experience (if that can be used to describe a backed-up drain)  We won't hesitate to call Roland again!

Very good service - Roland and his assistant were very professional.  The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the price.  I had PP&DC over to clear out our shower drain which had been giving us trouble for a while.  They brought up their machine and cleared the problem within 20 minutes.  Thank you!

Before this, I tried a plastic drain cleaner to clear hair clogs, but this problem went beyond it's capabilities.

Roland Sr. and Roland Jr. were AMAZING!  They came within 2 hrs of me calling them and they fixed my main sewer drain when another company couldn't fix it (and that company wanted to tear up my sidewalk for $3800!!).  They were very affordable, friendly, and AMAZING!!! Highly recommend this company!

The Ronalds (Jr. and Sr.) came when they said they would, clearly explained what was wrong with my drains, and gave me several options to remedy the situation.  They worked quickly, cleaned up after themselves, and were both friendly and professional.  The price was reasonable, within the range of over-the-phone quotes I received, and they **don't** charge for travel time, which some plumbers do.

I used this company to provide plumbing services to my mother's house in Philadelphia on two separate occasions,and I am very satisfied with the results.

The first time (Apr 2014) involved installing a new kitchen sink, and replacing several faulty shut-off valves in our water lines. The second time (Nov 2014), a clog needed to be removed that was embedded in the drainage line, approximately 25 feet from the sink drain. Liquid Plumber and other DIY techniques didn't work.  

Jamel was very professional during both service calls, and he explained everything that was being done to rectify the problems.

If we need any more plumbing services, I will use this company again. They do good work and they gave my mother a  senior citizen discount on the price!

Benjamin and Roland came out and fixed a faucet that a previous plumber was unable to fix. Great service and great price.

With all the great reviews this plumbing company received, I thought Personal Plumbing would be a great choice to fix some urgent plumbing issues I had at my house this week. I spoke with Roland about having one of his tech's come out, and during my first phone call he was incredibly helpful and said someone would be out in a few hours. Great, all good I thought.

After a few hours, I called back and found out our tech is delayed because of another complicated job in the area. Fine - no problem, totally understood and we were told that they would be there in a few hours. Again, after waiting those few hours I called again for an update and left a voicemail. I called again, multiple times into the night, thinking it might be a busy day. Left voicemails and still got no response. This was a very urgent plumbing issue that we took a day off work for because Roland said someone would be out to our house. We still haven't heard from Roland, but we ultimately wasted a day off and just found another reputable plumber to come out and work on our issue today.

Given all the other positive feedback, this may be an isolated case, but I figured I'd write up a review here to give another perspective.

Very disappointed at the sudden lack of communication and will not be looking to these guys again.

I sent a message via yelp requesting a quote to fix a problem with my toilet. I got a very quick response, with a possible diagnosis and a reasonable estimate. I spoke with Roland to schedule an appointment and he was able to come out the next day. He arrived within the time frame agreed upon and was very pleasant and professional. Roland worked efficiently, cleaned up when he was done, and advised me that his work is guaranteed for 6 months. I am very pleased with the service I received and I will recommend this company to family and friends.

They may be great plumbers but they aren't great at keeping appointments. At least they weren't good at keeping the one they made with me. They no showed and never called to say they weren't coming. I called the office and left a voicemail for them and never heard back. Like I said they might be great but I guess I'll never know.

Excellent service! They were able to schedule an appointment on short notice on a weekend, and the plumber who came out was both intelligent, informative, and honest. You can't really ask more from a plumber. Thank you Roland!  I am recommending this to all my Philadelphia friends.

What a wonderful experience!  This was our first time needing a plumber and we couldn't have picked a better team.  Roland sr. and jr. are honest, fair, and friendly.  When they arrived they listened to my concerns, told me what needed to be done, and quickly got to work.  While working on the drain they realized we needed to replace some parts.  They stayed late on a Saturday night to make sure we wouldn't be inconvenienced with an unusable shower.

Personal plumbing are fantastic!!  We will absolutely use them again!

Called to schedule an appointment a week in advance. Was given a four hour window and was told I would get a call when the technician was on his way. No one showed up. Called to find out what happened, mailbox is full. Not acceptable

Very untrustworthy. I needed my boiler repaired at my rental property; called and scheduled an appointment for early Saturday morning. I was told that the estimate would be free. My tenant spent his entire morning waiting for them but they never showed up. When I called he said that I did not have an appointment and that their appointment system had been giving them trouble but that he would have someone over shortly. The service man finally showed up at around 5 PM. However he said he could not finish the job that day because he did not have the parts and furthermore I did not like his price. When I refused his services he said that I had to pay for the estimate even though I was originally told that the estimate would free. But what angered me the most was that he told my tenant that he did not complete the job because of me when he himself told he could not finish the job that night because he did not have the parts. I would definitely stay away from these guys.

We had them come by for a minor toilet repair we couldn't figure out ourselves. The plumber was incredibly friendly and helpful and showed us how to fix it ourselves next time. The charge was very reasonable and he didn't try to upsell us or suddenly diagnose problems that weren't there. I would definitely call them again--very trustworthy, knowledgeable, helpful, and honest!

Would recommend them as others have. Excellent customer service with reasonable rates.

I had an appointment to install a sink and a minor shower repair for last Friday between 5-9PM. By 9, the technician had not yet arrived. After I called Personal Plumbing, I was informed they were swamped and set up a time for Saturday morning. The technician arrived on time, but then said he did not have the basic parts required to finish the installation and stated he would call later that day after he picked up the parts from the plumbing supply company. I never received a call. Since then, I have left 3 messages and have not had a call back. Very unprofessional.

Personal Plumbing and  Drain Cleaning  Roland & assistant are the most professional plumbing company I have ever came in contact with. This is the second time that I have used them to unclog the main drain in my home and both times they were mannerable, professional & effective in their job performance. I am comfortable to say with no hesitation I would recommend them to anyone for plumbing needs. I would love to rate them more than 5 stars if this site would allow but it doesn't ........ PLEASE STOP READING THE REVIEWS AND GIVE THEM A CALL !!!!!!!!!!!

I was very satisfied with the service I received from these folks, from my initial phone call to request service through to the end of the job, which was clearing out my clogged kitchen sink. I'm giving the job 4 stars, rather than 5, because they just did the job, and I want to wait just a bit to see if anything goes wrong in the near future. Otherwise, I'm very happy, at least with the immediate result. Based on todays service, I will call them again.

I will start with the positive.  They were very polite and returned calls promptly. Unfortunately it ended there.  They refused to give me a quote over the phone for a simple job that was small and finite.  I had to take time off work to arrange for an estimate that turned out to be twice what anyone else quoted on the phone.  Not a good way to do business.
