Sky Heating, AC, Plumbing & Electrical

First let me say that Sky's appointment reminders are great. I think I received 4 reminders ahead of my appointment. On the day of the appointment they sent me a photo of the electrician with a little bio. again, terrific communication. When I opened the door there were TWO electricians (or so I thought). The one I was informed about plus another one who I think was an apprentice. So that's not good. I should have been told there would be TWO individuals showing up. Now I fully support on-the-job training and I would not have had a problem with the apprentice WATCHING but I do have a problem with an uncertified electrician performing the job. But wait it gets so much worse.  I did my research before my appointment and learned that outlet REPLACEMENT could run as high as $175 each. Unreal. OK so I was prepared. I needed 3 outlets replaced ... not created, not wired, or re-wired, just replaced. When I was given the bill I nearly fell over. Over $540 for 3 outlets. They weren't gold or diamond encrusted, just ordinary outlets that you can buy from any hardware store. $540 for 3 outlets is insulting, it's offensive, and I caution anyone. We won't even talk about the attempt to u-sell me on other electrical service.

Ryan is the absolute best! He first serviced my furnace then came back and installed the parts that needed to be replaced. He was on time, professional and completed the repairs in a very timely manner. I bought their service plan last year and now get my furnace and AC unit serviced every year. Called Sky heating a couple of years ago for a plumbing issue. The plumber came out and could not have been happier. He said he could do the work however we could save a lot of $ if we did the repair ourselves. He told us what we needed and he was right. I was happy and thought if I need any other work I would call them.
We had an issue with one of our air ducts. They arrived and inspected our furnace which he said there were problems with our furnace and it should be repaired before it got worse. The pictures he showed me did show areas of concern. I was quoted over $7000 for the repair so it would be better to purchase a new furnace.
He did repair the air duct and also went over the cost for a new furnace. My wife is handicapped and she has to keep warm. My main concern was for her health so we did agree to purchase a new furnace.
While he was here I asked if he could look at our hot water for the pressure release valve was dripping more then it should. He did take some pictures sent it to a plumber and they quoted over $1000, again more then what a new hot water heater would cost. Because the new furnace was going to cost over $5000 I could not get the water heater repaired at that time.
We received quotes from the system designer for the furnace which went from over $5800 to over $9000. We did go with the lower end however it was like I was buying a car.
I decided to look into the hot water heater and found out it was an easy fix and would cost $25-$50 to do it myself. I was shocked and made me think did I really need a new furnace or could it have been repaired for less. I did repair the hot water heater and it is working fine. Don't get me wrong I would have never tried to repair the furnace myself, I should have got a second opinion.

Our technician Efren was professional efficient and very helpful. 5  stars! Sky heating and air conditioning was fantastic!

We had to get a new Hvac system. From the repair guy, salesman (Randy) to the installation crew (6) we were treated with respect, honesty and integrity. We were provided different options to choose from, was never pressured to pick the most expensive.

We opted to go with this new system that will provided unlimited hot water and level the heat in our home. I can fill our soaking tub and never run out of hot water! It is amazing, I am already in love with it.

The crew was outstanding. Very efficient, knowledgeable, personable and funny! Of course in these days Safe. They all wore a mask, nice ones with the company logo on them.

Shout out to Enrique, Earl, Paul, Joel, Mario and Anthony. 5 stars to each and everyone of them.

Plus they liked my dog Bruin. Thank you all for the great work, can't even tell you were here for 8 hrs. It is all so clean after all your work.

After working with other reputable companies in Portland  who were unable to troubleshoot our mini-split system Josh came to our rescue. We were very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. He provided us with repair and maintenance options, to which the small diagnostic fee applies.We have found our new HVAC pros!!

We had Josh here today to follow up on an issue we are having with our furnace. He was professional, courteous, and explained very well what was causing the problem and provided us with several options for fixing it. He was conscientious of our home and was able to provide us with an appointment for repairs right away.

Contacted Sky Heating an Air for a dual zone system on my home HVAC system. Spencer came out and completed an estimate within a week. The following week he was back out to install the system. Spencer was so nice, professional and knowledgeable. I am so pleased on with entire system and customer service. I also want to acknowledge Alex his assistant who was also nice an professional. I am so pleased and happy. The system works great, looks professional and it is so much quieter. Hands down 5 starts to Sky Heating an Air. To Spencer an Alex. So had them come out to fix a sticky shower handle. They came out. I was distracted and agreed to have them perform the work. Turns out they showed up at say 1240pm and had to go get a plug for the valve as that was the problem and he didn't have it on his truck. Got back and did the job in less than 30 min. Signed everything and left.

According to sky heating and cooling its a job bid. And not holy. They did 30 min of work (and I'm being generous here) and 1 part. Literally took 2 min to take the stuff off. And 3 min to put back on.

Workers were great and friendly. But $575 for 2 hrs and less than 1 hr of that was actually at my house or working on anything. My lawyers in the wrong field.

Spencer came and found the problem with my heater and fixed until we can replace it. as always the people at the company are professional and kind.

They provide very good and sound advice and great customer service. Went with tankless water heater and they did professional installation. Very flexible and amendable to changes of mind or schedules. They are there to make the customer happy.

We've used Sky Heating a couple of times now. Most recently to replace an old gas water heater with a heat pump water heater. They're reliable and organized, and show up when they say they'll be there. Highly recommend.

I needed an unusual exhaust fan installed in my bathroom. Thanh went the extra mile to make sure it was firmly secured despite the extra weight.

I called a different HVAC company first, and never even got a call back. This was during a heat wave, and our AC had stopped blowing cold. Sky Heating was recommended by a friend, and I am so glad I called them. They got back to me right away and offered me the option of an emergency after hours appt, or their next available regular hours appt.
Morgon came out to look at our system and was able to diagnose the problem quickly, and fixed it on the spot with parts he brought with him. He was very friendly and professional, and upsold my husband on a maintenance program moving forward.  
The follow up from the Sky hearing office was great, they made sure everything worked and went to plan. I have already called them for other work needed and recommended them to clients.

Professional and thorough annual maintenance on our ductless system by Ryan.

I did not hire this company. They wouldn't give an estimate for duct cleaning over the phone and wanted $109 to come to the house.

We were scheduled for next week, but they proactively called today with a last-minute cancellation and were at my house within 30 minutes. Bryan and Braxton were very helpful in guiding me to make the right decisions with my repair needs. They got me up and running quickly and painlessly. Pleasant and professional. Five stars!

Two plumbers arrived within minutes of one another and worked diligently to install 2 toilets, a new kitchen sink faucet (which was not easy), and a whole house water shut off valve (again, very difficult to do). They were here for approximately 4 hours and were very focused on their work. The work sites were left in clean, orderly condition. Both plumbers were knowledgeable and professional, yet easy to talk to regarding any concerns. Additionally, it was easy to schedule an appointment with this company (unlike some others who were booked months out). Sky Heating installed a mini-split for us about 5 years ago which has worked fine since then. So this was our second experience using them and they will now be our go-to when we need any of the services they offer.

Our HVAC system stopped working.  Efran went through all the diagnostics they have an amazing program that shows the details with colors and the info so people that may not understand all the technology jargon can understand.  He was absolutely amazing answered all my questions and explained some stuff I didn't know.  It was a great experience they didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need.  It's just so nice being able to trust a company with something this important.  I wish I had more than 5 starts to give!  My family is warm and happy and we have piece of mind that our system is safe.  Thank you so much!

I used Sky Heating, AC & Plumbing. I was hesitant because they offer a fixed bid, not based on a specific rate, but I decided to use them based on recommendations in a FB group. The technician was on-time, actually 5 minutes early. My tenant was home, lights were on but he did not knock on the door. He could not see the leak despite the fact that I removed the drywall, so I had to point it out, even my tenant could see the leak. He did not have a stepstool, so we borrowed my tenants. His quote to fix was almost $700. I asked him how long it would take to fix, he said 1.5 hours., which is $466/hour, which is egregious and I would not agree. We finally agreed on $560 and he would fix the leak in the kitchen sink next door as well. He left after 1 hr 45 mins total, 1.5 hrs actually working.

He stepped on a brass fitting twice coming down the stepstool, almost tripping right next to an open bottle of compound, which would have spilled all over the floor. He left his tape measure in the truck, got it and came back. He left his towel in the truck, got it and came back., which I think he did intentionally to stretch the time of the job out because he asked me if I was going to stay and I said of course. He spent not even 5 mins tightening the connection to the kitchen sink next door, not even replacing the gasket. I paid $320/hour for this repair and sadly will NEVER use Sky Heating, AC and Plumbing again. Next time, I will use someone who charges on an hourly basis, which is a fair and reasonable rate.  That said, the work quality of the repair looked fine.

**Update** Sky Heating, AC & Plumbing ended up giving me a $320 credit, which I greatly appreciate.

We, like many, fell prey to the heatwaves this summer and ended up needing to replace both our AC and furnace. I spoke with several companies, and finally narrowed down to 2. Mico was our first point-of-contact and I can't say enough good things about him. Kind, professional, and extremely patient (I literally dragged our decision-making process out for days and bombarded him with so many questions, but he handled it very gracefully and is ultimately the reason we ended up going with Sky.) We did have to wait for about 6 weeks to get our new units installed due to supply chain issues, but this was still a month sooner than the other company could offer. I was nervous that the install wouldn't happen on time, but much to my surprise, they came through with flying colors. Earl, Morgan, Enrique and Dan worked SO HARD, and always with a smile on their faces. I was very impressed with their work ethic and consideration for our house (they left everything very clean.) The last interaction I had was with Meredith, who was also super helpful and sweet when taking our payment. I'm grateful to have found Sky and will absolutely be using them again for future work!

We had a new HVAC system installed less than six months ago. It literally popped apart and now Sky is not going to send anyone to fix it for OVER A WEEK, during hottest part if the YEAR! Mind you this is emergency service LMAO. This is not how they represented themselves when salesman came out to sell us our $26k system. They said within 24 hours It's intolerable. Don't but into their lies.

They overcharge.

There is no transparency in their billing.  They don't tell you how much you're paying for parts, labor or individual services.  We had electrical work done.  After some internet research on the cost of parts, I realized they charged us over $600 an hour for labor!

We won't use them again.

We had a sudden and critical need for sky heating plumbing to come to our home. We also had a secondary issue that Gordon addressed. He assessed both situation's and repaired everything keeping us updated and giving us options. We definitely knew we were working with a seasoned plumber for an old house with many hacks prior to us moving in.
Also it always helps when the quote is higher than the actual invoice. How often does that happen these days?

Mitch arrived when expected and was very pleasant from the start. He took time to teach me about my ductless units and explain the logic behind how they work. I've had them for 5 years and had never received instruction on how to use them. Turns out they were a smart choice!! And no, SKY did not install them so the lack of instruction was not their fault. All in all, he was thorough and genuinely cared about the functionality of the units.

Braxton and Cody came out to start our major project today. Upgrading the electric service and the re-wire of the home. These gentleman were very professional,  knowledgeable,  have fantastic work ethic, worked very clean and efficiently.  Once the electrical is completed we are having our heating system replaced and upgraded. We are very impressed so far!!!

Our furnace stopped working late on a winter evening. I called several HVAC repair places but only found one that would answer the phone after 8 pm. Sky answered my call with a human and sent out a technician the next morning. Spencer, our technician was very knowledgeable, communicative, and respectful of our home. He answered every question I had with a helpful attitude. We highly recommend Sky for HVAC maintenance and repairs.

Spencer was Amazing! Prompt,professional and very personable. Will be using them always. Office staff also Great. This company is very easy and friendly to deal with.

Enrique installed our new furnace today. Great communication, knowledgeable and professional. He took extra care in ensuring that we were comfortable with the new unit. Looking forward to working with him again in the future!

Needed to re-route our water spigot to an outside wall.  Work was as promote. Plumbers took pics of completed project, and owner called us immediately saying he wanted a more professional looking job.  We were quite surprised that he had reviewed the job, and scheduled re-work within the same week.  We are extremely happy, and will be using this Sky for an electrical project.   Great business that cares about the happiness of their customers.

Timely, friendly, efficient service on our mini split system, which they installed seven years ago. I signed up for the maintenance contract, which saves money and automatically schedules service in spring and fall.

We called to get an install done on a high voltage charger for a new automobile.  Not only did Braxton and Cody come prepared with a quote, but with several well thought options allowing us to commit.  The surprise was they were ready to work, said 2-3 hours and were finished in exactly three hours with clean, professional, and legal install.  Extremely professional and knowledgable.  Glad I called on Sky again.
