Established in 1979.
Sky Heating and Air Conditioning has served our customers and community for more than 36 years. Started by William (Bill) G. Smith October 1st 1979, it has grown into serving the entire Portland Metropolitan Area and beyond. I have been with Sky Heating for all 30 years of my life. My father started the company in 1979 and has built the company into what it is today. I started working in our metal shop when I was 12 years old and started installing at age 18. I know the ins and outs of all heating and cooling systems. I have my N.A.T.E. certification as well as geothermal certification.
Recognized as top 40 under 40 by The ACHR News, HBA Home Performance Council board member, ORACC board member, The ACHR News advisory board.

Once again, I am very impressed with Sky Heating, Plumbing and Electrical! This time I had the pleasure of meeting Matthew when he arrived at my home. I explained that for a long while we had not been able to use our dining room chandelier. Matthew started to work to diagnose the problem. In just a couple minutes my chandelier was glowing with light!
I was delighted! The problem was due to a loose wire. It didn't take long and the switch was replaced and everything was bright!
Matthew was fast, efficient, friendly, and reminded me of why I called Sky heating, cooling, and electrical, because they are the best! Thank you, Matthew and Braxton!

Mitch was phenomenal and gave us really good tips and did a great job with maintenance on our furnace and air conditioning unit.

Mitch came out originally for a Dignostics visit which was $109 but we decided to change it to an annual maintenance which was $189.

He worked fast and gave me great recommendations for filter to use and when to change it.

Overall I will be sticking with this company for years to come.

Recently we had Sky tech do a warranty repair on our gas furnace.  They repaired it and handled the warranty claim for cost reimbursement.  We are happy with Sky repair and their paper work with the manufacturer.  
Also we signed up for their low cost maintenance program, as we needed the yearly reminder to inspect and test the heat/AC in order to stay ahead of costly repairs.  Only negative was my initial call to Sky service mgr left me feeling castigated for not having a more timely Sky inspection and for having a competitor just open it and inspect it.

The phone receptionist was very cordial and professional.  An appointment was set for the next day.  On arrival they diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly, and charged a reasonable price.  The technicians were also very informative and polite.  This is a good company.

Sky is fantastic!  We've had multiple quotes from them as we considered what to do with a space that had an old boiler. In the end we went with removing old water and gas lines from the space. Brodie did an excellent job of removing the pipes, capping everything in the crawlspace and attic, testing everything to make sure there were no leaks, and leaving a cleaned up space. We are now ready to move on with our projects!  We had multiple quotes and Sky's was the most reasonable and realistic for the work done.

My heat pump wouldn't shut off over night, even though I turned the thermostat off. Ryan Fineran came to the rescue on the same day, and checked everything over. Unfortunately, but fortunately, the problem stopped exhibiting itself once I turned the breaker back on for the system. Ryan still did his due diligence, checked what he needed to check, and walked me thru what he did. Is it a bummer we couldn't find a problem to fix? Maybe... Am I glad it's working now in the middle of summer? Yes, 100%. Ryan was a consummate professional thru and thru.

James Harvey and Josh, his trainer, came out today to do the annual maintenance check on our Trane air conditioner. They both were friendly and professional and took the initiative to replace the aging capacitor before it actually failed (and while it was still under warranty), saving us several hundred dollars! As always, we were very happy with our experience and we are pleased to give James and Josh and Sky Heating and Air Conditioning

My partner and I called Sky heating in the early afternoon of Monday November 14, 2022 to make an appointment because our heat pump stopped working. At that time we mentioned we live on the 7th floor of a condo building.

We waited a week without heat because they were backed up but that is not the reason for the review.

A tech arrived at the end of the day on Monday November 21, 2022 as scheduled, but refused to even come in the door because they are not licensed to work in buildings with more than three stories.

Sky Heating called to explain the situation and blamed their answering service (which apparently took our phone call at 1:19 in the afternoon) for not knowing they don't service commercial buildings.

They were blandly apologetic but did not try to make it right, nor hold the company accountable.

We have had two outstanding installations at our home.  Big thank you to Mico, who came out to survey and set up the contract.  Also a big thank you to Kelly, Jesse, Braxton, Eric, Enrique, and Dan who swarmed my house this morning and got everything installed.  Excellent work!  

Our first heat pump was installed in the garage, which is half shop and half gym.  We had that done last October so we would be able to use the space all winter.  We get out there about 10 minutes in advance of when we want to start work, set the heat, and when we are ready so is the garage.  Toasty and perfect!  I'm sure when we need to cool it down this summer it will be just as efficient.

Today's job (April) was in anticipation of another apocalyptic heat event this summer.  It's getting hotter every summer, though, and it doesn't need to be 116 to want to push some cold air through the living spaces.   We now have a split that cools the living room and the bedroom right above it.  

The units look clean and unobtrusive.  Kelly and Jesse were careful in my home, put down covers on nearby furniture and carpet, and cleaned up after.  They took the time to show me what they were doing, and how cutting through the wall in a different place, for example, would be something I needed to decide.  After listening to them explain things, it was easy to make choices.  The outside parts were installed up high on the side of the house, clear of hats and cars, with well placed conduit to make it look tidy.  Braxton did the electrical, and he was super careful to let me know how he was going to place the new connections - it required some deconstruction.  He was also patient when I asked about the circuit breakers - explained some things I was not aware of.  

After the installation last October (also Kelly and Braxton), I didn't hesitate to book Sky for this larger job.  These men are clearly experts in what they do.  I can't install a curtain rod without two trips to the hardware store, a string of salty words, and a bandaid on my hand.  There was NONE OF THAT with this crew.  They came in, surveyed, set up, got it done.  And it works great!  The units are quiet and efficient.  

Portland weather is in flux, friends, and it's getting hotter in the summer every year.  I read that one third of the homes in this city don't have air conditioning, but you are definitely going to need it.   We could have upgraded our forced heat to include cool air, but it made more sense for us to use these splits in a couple of rooms instead of trying to cool all three floors (1, 2, and a basement).   Now we can control the climate in the space we are in the most, instead of the spaces we seldom spend much time in.  Read up on Daikin systems and see what you think.

We have been working with Sky Heating & Cooling for a year now. They installed our mini split, and also service our HVAC & mini split on an annual maintenance plan. Everyone I've ever talked to by phone is super friendly. For the actual maintenance visits, I have gotten service from Ryan Lynk multiple times and he's super awesome - takes the time to explain to me what he serviced, and super courteous. I highly recommend this vendor!

A previous electrical contractor crushed the heat ducts in our crawl space during a major remodel years ago.  We have been contacting HVAC companies forever for bids. Either they don't show up, or they never submit bids.  We contacted Sky last Thursday, and Kenny made his assessments the next Tuesday.  He completed his analysis and completed his bids on site.  Kenny is very professional and a very knowledgeable technician.  He did a thorough inspection of our system and identified some other issues with our 18 year-old system.
Sky will be replacing all of the heat ducts in our crawl space, installing a tankless hot water heater and eventually replacing our furnace and A/C.

We had our entire house (built in 1912) rewired, upgraded panels and electric service AND a new HVAC system installed.  We hit a few bumps along the way, but Braxton Kinsley our journeyman, his apprentice Cody Labahn, and Manager Chris Dunlap were quick to address each issue that cropped up.  My husband was super pleased and appreciative of the care that Braxton and Cody took while working in our old home.  There was minimal repairs to be made to the lath and plaster and sheetrock because the guys took their time and were very careful making their cuts.  They were a pleasure to work with!  Last but not least I would like to mention Maria who works in dispatch/scheduling, Maria was super nice to work with!  I would recommend Sky Heating, AC Plumbing and Electrical for any of your needs.  We will be calling back to get an estimate on a plumbing issue.  Highly recommend this company!

We just bought a house that had a 27 year old gas furnace that had never had AC attached to it and wanted to get AC in asap before the summer. They were super responsive and fast to get out here for an estimate. Michael Gonzales came for the estimate and was very professional and personable, and one hell of a salesman. He provided us with quotes for multiple different systems and was super responsive to any questions we had, day or night. From there the install was scheduled, also with a very fast turnaround. Four installers were here all day getting the system up and running, among them were Mario Gonzales and Matt Daley. They were all great and very professional. If I knew the names of the other installers, I would include them as well. They explained everything to me very well and had everything installed and running great in a timely manner. Overall it was a great experience from start to finish

Our AC stopped cooling right during the latest heat wave. Kenny was able to come out in only a couple days to fix the problem. Kenny is very professional and a very knowledgeable technician.  He did a thorough inspection of our system and identified some issues with our over 20-year-old system.
He got it is running again on the same day and we also joined their preferred customer program for regular maintenance on the system, to keep in running in the future.

We had central a/c installed, a second EV charger installed, and a generator transfer switch installed.  It was absolutely amazing and it all looks great!  Braxton and the team are top notch.  We are having them come back to do more projects in the near future!  This is the company to use!!

3/16/23:  We had a few cosmetic issues that we wanted corrected and to make sure the A/C unit was secure (we live on the side of a mountain).  Mario came and fixed everything with professionalism and was incredibly nice.  We had additional electrical work done last month and could not be more pleased!  If you need any of the services Sky offers...USE THEM!!!

We had been having issues with our heating system, gave Sky heating a call and they had someone out the next day. Josh was our technician and he was soo helpful was able to pinpoint our issue and we needed to replace a few things. We were concerned it would take days and in this time we wouldn't have heat but Josh was able to put us on his schedule for the next day. He was soo friendly, patient in explaining what needs to be done. Every time I've called the representatives have been soo friendly and understanding.

I'm rating them 5 stars because in their text to me that their representative who came out to review our needs and quote gets a tip for 5 stars, so he shouldn't get left out as he was a great guy.   The issue is their quote was double and on one item almost triple of another quote we had received.   Both companies were highly recommended on Facebook sites but
I won't pay those high prices to anyone, regardless of recommendations.

My furnace went out the day before thanksgiving with friends coming to visit from out of town. Ron spent most of the afternoon and evening fixing it to make sure it worked properly. I am adding an edit to this original post in response to the Owner comments.

Everything he said is true, and inline with my post. Unfortunately, their only remedy was exactly what I stated below. No repair possible, only expensive complete replacement of my HVAC system. He also does not acknowledge the tactics of their Sales Rep in my home. I've owned several homes and rental properties and never had a Sale Rep for a contractor come to an inspection. Also, they told me the Credit Check was a soft check that would not trigger Credit Agencies, that was not true.

Their Cus. Ser, person did contact me by phone, I left a message as there was no answer. I would gladly post their resolution, if there is one. This is not my first unscrupulous encounter with a large company in Portland. And Ive only been working on this house for 9 mos.

This is long, but perhaps worth the time

Well, I read the good reviews and the not so good reviews. At this point, I feel obligated to post my experience with this company. I came home in the evening, Dec 7th, 2021,my house and my little dog were freezing. My heater stopped working, and I could not get it restarted. I made several calls, of course no one was available. I admit the advertising and flashy ads for Sky got me to call them for service. I was quoted $159 for the service call, which of course would be posted to my final bill as a credit. I want to point out that this large service fee does two things, 1) it makes you feel like you're going to have a big credit on your final bill 2) it makes it financially impossible, for most people, to get multiple quotes. I usually get three quotes on any large project.

The service tech was available quickly, as I'd gone with heat for 7 days at this point. He was friendly, followed all COVID restrictions, he appeared to know what he was talking about. He told me the heater was done for, the A/C was also crap and, if I would like their Sales Mgr. to come out to talk to me about my options, he could be there that afternoon. Great. The first thing I did was call a friend, a male, to come over to ya know make sure this salesperson did not mistake this hip, but little old lady for someone who could be duped.

I will keep this direct. Have you ever gone to one of those used car places with $500 and driven away with a $40k car? I have never felt so pressured by way of shame and gentle threats in my entire life. The old get it now while its on sale, sign now so I don't have to come all the way back, lugging all this paperwork, and of course we can get you a line of credit, even though I said no. I went along with it because frankly, I just wanted him to see that all though I have money, I don't have a credit cards or debt therefore no credit approval for the $36K HVAC system whose brand I'd never heard of, ever. Nor had my friends who'd been in the business for 45 yrs. (they don't live here so no I couldn't use them)

In fairness they do offer 2 other less expensive alternatives but try make you feel bad for not getting the best. He was very slick, and they cover their behinds well, I asked him to leave so I could make the right decision maybe get another quote. He was not going easily but did eventually. I began to get slaughtered with emails.

I called another company, someone local, who as it turned out, had not only worked on the house before, but went to school with the previous owner.
He fixed my heater for $375. Sky refused to return my Service Fee.

Moral: never have a Service Call that cost more than $75. Always get 3 quotes. Ask friends, and read the reviews.

Our Technician, Dan, came to assess our 21 yr old furnace for it's health and life expectancy.  After a thorough diagnostic, he gave me an honest assessment the mechanical and electrical systems looked good.  However, he showed me photos of concerning burn/wear in the seams of our heat exchanger.  Should these burn/wear points crack, hazardous gasses could leak into our house creating a health risk.  

I appreciated Dan's thoroughness and well documented assessment.  His honest approach was much appreciated.

We had multiple HVAC companies turn down the business to repair our heat pump because they said they didn't have the expertise to work on our specific unit. We'll, Sky had the expertise, and the professionalism, courtesy, good communication, friendly staff, and Josh who fixed our A/C was amazing. Cant recommend enough. I signed up for their maintenance plan right away.

Losing air conditioning when it's over 90 degrees outside is never fun and you want service fast. They were able to come out within 2 days of appointment request. He arrived on time and explained the process to me and showed me photos of the issues with our AC. Then i agreed on which option was best, and he had the whole unit fixed and running in less than 2 hours. All around very happy with the service! Would definitely hire again.
Also - THANK YOU Sky for the text the morning of with a photo, name and background of who is coming over. A nice touch and added piece of mind for a woman with male service employee coming to my house.

I moved into my new home a year before covid and then forgot about the yearly maintenance due on my ac/heater unit and water heater. These guys came out, fixed water heater, then 2 weeks later,  came out and cleaned ac/heater. We had Sky install an outlet for our new smart bidet, which I was going to install. I found that the shut-off valve was faulty and the new toilet was heavy, so I called Sky. It turned out that the unit was not supplied with US hookup parts, so I would have had a major problem on my own Yuriy and his partner did a great job, so Sky is 2 fir 2 in our book - plumbing and electric!

Yuriy P is the plumber who repaired my leaking water faucet. I had a goodly number of questions which he answered to the fullest and in a manner in which I didn't in the least feel like I was annoying him! Our Central AC stopped cooling. Luckily Sky heating was able to send Kenny out within a week to fix the problem. He is a very knowledgeable technician and he pointed out some other issues with our old system. This all happened right before an exzessive heat warning. Happy it is running again and we joined their preferred customer program for regular maintenance on the system.

The woman who set up my AC repair site visit told me that they could service a certain manufacturer of AC units that I had, so I booked the appt. She was either mistaken or she lied to me. Either way, when the repair man came out he immediately apologized because they couldn't help with my specific manufacturer of AC unit. He then promptly left. I told them I shouldn't have to pay for the site visit since the HVAC tech did nothing but tell me he couldn't work on it. And that is after I asked the company specifically if they could. When I called the front office lady again I told her my case, I asked to speak to a manager repeatedly and she said no. Then she told me she would be taking me to collections. I asked again to talk to a manager to plead my case and she told me no. When I called back to figure out something so that I wasn't sent to collections, she had blocked my number. I would never ever use this company again. They are only out for their initial site fees and they don't care about the customer. In contrast, I called Central Heating and Cooling in Clackamas and told them what happened. They waved their fee since Sky had given me such a negative experience. And they did an amazing job on installing a new AC unit. I will never use Sky again and I am a life long customer for Central Heating and Cooling in Clackamas!!​​

Technicians and scheduling was excellent. I will not use again based upon the totally inappropriate message left by their billing supervisor stating I can see  you are opening invoices and I want to know why you have not paid yet The first invoice was sent expecting full payment prior to completing the job. The second invoice was sent less than 24 hours ago and I did not have payment method with me when I opened it. I have not shared all the wording of the message and Im very hard to offend.... We had an outdoor faucet burst during the recent freeze and Brodie was able to quickly find the issue and fix upon arrival. Very professional and answered all questions putting all of our concerns at ease. Tina and Brandy from dispatch were also a pleasure to communicate with for scheduling. I received a feedback here from the business about their policy when it comes to moving things in the garage. My response  to him is, I should have been informed when I made the appointment. The technicians telling me elling me after the work was done that they will come back later to put the stuff back, then not getting any calls after my calling several times later to get updates is not good customer service.  You tell the customer at the beginning what your policy is, not after the fact.

Gordon was my tech. He was very polite and knowledgeable. He checked out everything and kept ne informed every step of the way. He cleaned up and left my house as he found it. All team members were wearing masks which my wife and I appreciated. Our installation was a little more complex than originally planned so we had a couple of days without heat as the furnace was being replaced. The installers were great though and kept open communication so we knew what to expect. The new system was installed very clean and our ductwork got some much needed attention. The baseline pressure test showed a leakage of 137cfm! The team was able to bring that back down to 9cfm of loss. Grant and Mario worked late to make sure we had running hot water and heat in the house until the final parts could arrive a few days later. I also have to give kudos to the team for the positive attitude they still had even after spending all day down in the crawl space (it is a very tight space that had 30 years of debris, spider webs, and dead mice in it).

We still cannot believe how much duct leakage was repaired and how quiet the new Bosch unit is! Thanks so much

When we received a water bill that was five times the normal amount, I called around for an appointment. Most companies were at least four days out. I set up an appointment with Sky due to their reviews. Turned out they were able to come out the next day. Tina was my contact at their office and she was very helpful and knowledgeable. Jeff and Yuriy showed up and figured out my problem (leak from the main water line). Yuriy gave me several different options for repair or replacement of the main water line. He explained everything thoroughly and professionally. Both he and Jeff answered all my questions. We chose to have the main line replaced. Jeff and Yuriy kept me informed of what work was occurring and of their progress. They busted their humps and got the job done in a timely manner. It's nice to find a company with employees that seem to enjoy their jobs and treat their customers with respect. Based on my interactions with Tina, Jeff, and Yuriy I will definitely use Sky in the future!

Ryan Fineran was awesome. He came out to perform a potential repair and instead of forcing a repair on us that may not solve our problem long term he recommended we consider replacing. Our unit is 20 years old and the repair costs would have not been huge but it could have been a waste if it didn't work long term. His honesty was very refreshing and appreciated. We were their last project before they left town here in central Oregon. Very poor install and we had to call in someone else to fix the mistakes. They failed to caulk their penetrations and we had a terrible mice and rat problem for over a year. Since the holes have been secured that problem has gone away. None of the heat ducts were secured in holes they cut and that left air gaps that needed to be fixed. A few hours of detail work would have cured all of these issues. We called for service and they referred us to an old competitor. Couldn't cash the check and get out of town fast enough. That was over two years ago and my view hasn't changed. Good luck with these folks.

I'd put my wife off as long as I could in repairing several leaks in the master bathroom.  Gordon came to the door reviewed my list and inspected the property.  After a few minutes he returned tablet in hand with his inspection results and estimates for their remediation.  Unfortunately he started at the top (most expensive) of the list and nearly put me in cardiac arrest.  Afterwards I felt bad for reacting the way I did because I could see it put him off a bit.  After calming down in addition to the leaks and water pressure I had identified he found another hose bib outside needing attention and a safety feature (pressure tank) for the hot water heater.  I elected to repair the items from my list and after consulting with my wife added the pressure tank.  the unit costs of each repair were probably at par for plumbers but the sticker shock is just dissipating.   Gordon was awesome through it all and the work is excellent.

Our experience to get AC installed was great from the start. Mike, the technician, came out and took a look at our set-up on a Friday and unfortunately my husband couldn't be there. He set up a time to come back on Monday so we could both be there to discuss this purchase together and ask questions. This being a large investment, we of course went to multiple companies to compare. The others just emailed a complicated piece of paper with options and no follow up. Not Mike! He provided us multiple options on site and detailed what each one included and answered all of our questions. After we selected the one for us, he texted us later that day and said they could install the very next Saturday!

So today, the amazing Mario showed up on time, following all safety protocols and worked hard to get our AC installed. He was polite, efficient, knowledgeable and very respectful. He made sure everything was working perfectly and that we had no questions before he left. He cleaned up every little bit of evidence he'd been there now our house is so comfortable.

I highly recommend these great folks. Easy process from start to finish. And we plan to have them do our furnace maintenance, too! One stop shopping!

We were so impressed with our recent experience with Sky Heating. We noticed a few nights ago that an alarm had gone off on our furnace (and standing water) so we had to call them after hours. They immediately put us in touch with someone who had great advice to ease our concerns.

Don was the technician to help us and we found him to be extremely professional and also very easy to work with. He did an amazing job and was way more helpful than we even anticipated! I also enjoyed talking to Gabriella who helped with customer service. She was super nice and friendly,   and she also ensured we had a positive experience.

Poor customer service. Got the run around from multiple receptionists. First was told could get service the same day. The next person said they weren't able to come out until the July. Then it changed to September. Totally disorganized. (Make sure you call between 8 and 5 because apparently the call center has no idea what the company policies are.) I'd recommend going elsewhere. I am!

A 16 year old boy took a massive dump in my toilet and clogged the main line, or so we thought. After many various attempts to unclog It, I reached out on yelp and got a response to my issue from sky within a few hours. The response from Travis made me laugh and the positive reviews convinced me to call and get an appt setup. The communication was stellar and everyone I spoke to through the process was helpful, pleasant and efficient. On the day of my appt I was out running a quick errand when my service technician, John basquez arrived. When I got home i approached the van and we started chatting about my issue. Immediately I liked this guy. He was calm, knowledgeable and transparent in what he was doing and what he knew and didn't know. Over the next few hours John replaced my very cheap plastic pump that was not clogged by a teenage poop but in fact had died. He walked me through the process. Showed me my old pump. Gave me pointers on how to maintain and figure out my plumbing and pump. Showed me My new installed pump. How to problem solve if something like that ever happened again etc..... In addition we chatted about beer, fruit trees, our kids, where we like to camp, dogs that eat fruit, more beer and more kid stories. It's not fun to spend money on injector pumps but it is fun to talk to John if you do have to spend money on it. I absolutely cannot recommend sky or John more. Thank you Travis for the laugh and John for a lovely Afternoon!

Detailed and professional.  Jeff was quick to diagnose our problem, propose solutions. Once we chose a course of action, he quickly went to work. Our sink and drains are working again.  He took great care to ensure the workspace was protected during the service and cleaned up afterwards. Jeff also provided very helpful tips for ongoing maintenance that will hopefully avoid future repairs.  However, if I need a future repair, etc.. Sky is my first call.

Called this company because my daughters room was freezing compared to the rest of the house. The tech, Miguel, said he would change how the air blowed and would refocus the air more towards the back of the house. They said this was really the only option.  Then I asked about cleaning the ducts while they were here as maybe that would help. The duct cleaning options they gave me were ridiculous.  $400 something dollars to clean my ducts on a less than 1500 square foot house or the 2nd option was a $2500 cleaning and that would be using all the their best equipment.  I am a single woman and it felt like the salesman was praying on my ignorance. I called several other companies and no one was near what they quoted to clean the ducts.  I got them cleaned for less than $200 with another local company and ended up paying them $150 to come out and that room is still freezing over a year later.  Do not recommend this company.  Was looking up companies for a project I need now and remembered my unpleasant experience with this one.

From the original phone call inquiry with Ash (Ashley Matthew's), to the friendly and informative home consultation/quote with the Design Engineer Charlie...to the scheduling (and having to reschedule because our thermostat wasn't going to get here on time) with Kelley, all the way to the impressively on-time and professional installation with Abel & his crew...I COULD NOT have asked for a more painless and streamlined process. Everyone was so personable and accommodating, and I would recommend Sky to anyone needing HVAC work. We have three homes under service contract with Sky heating and air and installed 2 units at our rental duplex in West Linn a few years back, all by Sky heating and air. So we're big fans however during the latest heat wave our AC unit would not cool off even after we just had it checked. Honestly Brian who came out to do the annual check on our AC unit gave us the options but weather being what it was rainy and cool we didn't go forward plus we're in a bit of a financial strain right now so when it didn't cool off called sky only to find out that we couldn't get a service technician there till July 12. That was very disappointing to hear however we got a call shortly after letting us know that Jason would arrive later that evening to take a look at our unit and we were thrilled. We could not have been more satisfied with Jason he was kind considerate even compassionate understanding that we had a very old unit that needed a lot of work but he gave us options did not pressure us to buy a new unit or pat for expensive repairs that we couldn't afford right now. I truly since that Jason understood this and it is very best to provide options for us that we could be happy about. Ultimately he gave us an option we could live with and got our unit going just in time for the last hot day before some of the cool weather came back. My wife and I are hoping we can get through August then decide about purchasing a new unit. Thank you Jason he really saved us I'm glad Sky heating and air is someone like you watching out for their customers.

My husband and I would give more than 5 stars if possible!  Our service person, Don Wilkinson, did a phenomenal job repairing our AC.  He explained all aspects of the repair, and answered all our questions.  We will stay with Sky Heating & AC for all of our service needs, and also hope to see Don again when we need maintenance and any repairs that come up in the future.

Answered all my questions and after talking with him I decided to go with Sky Heating. He made the sale. I called Sky to schedule a plumbing bid.  They charge $59 to come out (to earn your business) and will refund it if you use them.  Wow.  On top of that, Christina would only schedule during their time, so I would have had to take time off work to accommodate them.  They must really be hard up for money, or don't want the business.  I used this company a couple of years ago, spent $8500 for a furnace and a/c unit, and they wanted to charge me $59 to earn my business this time.  So much for honoring your prior clients!  Oh, and the hvac rep never did follow through on his promise to come back to check they hvac system and program the thermostat.  Huh, I should have known better not to call them to start with.

I have worked with Sky twice now and my recent maintenance appointment cemented why they are my go-to for heating and cooling issues.  Kenny (the technician sent to our home) was amazing.  He did a phenomenal job of explaining everything he was working on and what needed to be addressed (and what could wait) in very easy to understand terms.  He also took lots of pictures and videos to add further context.  He was kind, patient, and professional.  I'm thrilled with the service we received and it exceeded my expectations in all regards.

Because he was so inquisitive and thorough, he saved me probably $10,000 on an unnecessary re-pipe job, something other bidders had suggested. 11/10 will go with Sky in the future.

I had a great experience with Sky, they installed a mini split system in our home. Curtis is very knowledgeable and walked me through the entire process. Gage and Uziel did the 2 day install and both were very friendly did the job well.

I called for an estimate, had an appointment two days later and the install scheduled for the next week. All appointments and technicians were on time. They were a bit higher on the pricing but I'm very happy with the service.

This was our first time using Sky. We were recommended by a friend. The first person I talked to was Ash. She helped us find a date and time that worked for us even on very short notice, as our furnace had completely broken. The tech that came (Morgan) was, prompt and professional, he even gave us options and set us up on a yearly membership so we get regular service. We have used them for AC, Plumbing, and Electrical. I love having one company that can do it all. They are not the cheapest by any means, but they deliver quality customer service and short wait times for appts. Most companies are understaffed, understocked and have appts weeks out. Sky is fully staffed, fully stocked with supplies/parts and very accommodating to get you scheduled quickly. Worth every penny!

My wife and I never imagined we would have anything positive to say about our 20 year old furnace suddenly going out on us in the middle of a major cold snap. At first, we were completely stressed out about it. I tried to fix it myself, and quickly realized I was out of my depth and needed to call a professional. We contacted a few companies to get quotes, and were disappointed with the used car salesman type pitches we received, as well as the lack of responsiveness from some of the companies we called.

Then we found Sky Heating and Cooling, and all of that changed. Before calling Sky, we decided to research the products they use and pull consumer reports to get a sense of the quality. Sky is certified to install Trane products, which consistently receive some of the highest marks by consumer reports for quality and reliability.

When I called Sky, the first person I spoke with was Cate, and I was immediately struck by her professionalism and the customer service she provided. Cate scheduled a consultation for us, and gathered important information ahead of the appointment which helped expedite the process.

Ryan, our system designer, arrived on time to the appointment. Ryan was professional, respectful, and friendly throughout the appointment. My wife and I noticed an obvious difference between Ryan and the other system designers who we previously consulted; at no point did we feel like Ryan was pressuring us to buy anything. He was sensitive to our concerns about balancing cost and quality, and provided 3 solid options that represented a range of functionality and cost. He answered all of our questions, and helped us make an informed decision. As a result, we choose the furnace that best suits our needs; Trane, 2 stage with 80/20 efficiency, variable speed fan motor, and a robust 4 inch Honeywell filter. We also elected to have our vents cleaned.

Once we made our selection, we spoke with Kelly who pulled the necessary permits and scheduled both the vent cleaning and the installation. Impressively, Kelly was able to get us on the books for the vent cleaning the next day, and the installation the day after that. We really appreciated the sense of urgency with which Kelly responded to our needs, especially because at the time this was happening it was incredibly cold outside and we were relying on space heaters and a wood fireplace to keep our 2000 square foot home warm.

Joe was the person who cleaned our ducts, and he arrived on time and was quick and efficient. The work he completed has made a substantial impact on the quality of our lives by reducing the particulates that were previously causing sinus issues for me.

Earl installed our new furnace, and he also arrived on time to the appointment. He is clearly a professional in his field, because the install looks fantastic and passed inspection no problem. He was also very quick, at least in comparison to what a lay person might expect. One thing we asked Ryan to pass along to the installers is that my wife works from home, and the install needed to disrupt her work day as little as possible. Earl was respectful of this request, and as we expected per Ryan he only asked her to come down when it was time to walk her through how to use the thermostat and change the filter.

Finally, Ryan came to our house after the successful inspection to make sure we were happy. We let him know we are very happy, and feel strongly that we made the right choice not only in the furnace that we selected, but also in the company we choose to install it.

We would absolutely recommend Sky Heating and Cooling to anyone who is in need of their services. They treated us very well, did an outstanding job, and made sure we were happy even after the deal closed.

These folks are always great. We purchased our AC 15 years ago from them and we have never had a problem. They were great to work with a quick install no hidden fees and happy customers. We have engaged them about other HVAC services at home shows and they are always friendly and not pushy also. Well it finally happened and it went out on the hot weekend. They were closed, but I didn't think we needed to make an ER call to them, as we could live a couple of days with some heat. I emailed them and first thing Monday they reached out and just like that they squeezed us in that day. They arrived and had the part they needed and done in 20 mins. I really expected to wait a few days in likely one if the busiest time of the year. But they got us in and up and running. Great work folks! Totally recommend them.

These guys were referred to us by a neighbor.  We requested a pre-estimate visit and were assigned a date 2 weeks later.  On the date of the assignment, got a call that they could not make it.   Very unreliable,  I would not recommend using them.

Couldn't be happier with them! Charlie, who came over to give me the estimate, explained everything thoroughly. He listened and understood my needs t hey were my 3rd estimate..I trusted Charlie..he sealed the deal..The installers were great also..Kelly and Eric. Came the day and time scheduled, very respectful, and we're very good at teaching me not only how to use the remote but very patient and seemed eager to answer all my questions..Eric was the guy who came to finish up on the 2nd day...I had tons of technical questions,  how and why mini splits work, etc..he seemed happy to answer every one of them. It's obvious they all enjoy their jobs and know what they're talking about.

I own a service Plumbing company and can attest to these guys skills and abilities!

We have a vacation home in Portland that we rent out when we're not using it. I have had to use this company multiple times for our heating and AC repairs.

As a landlord, it's beyond stressful to have to deal with breakdowns when out of state. I'm beyond grateful I have these guys on my team!

Really disappointed. Scheduled an appt in Sept on their website, answered all the questions and provided details on the service and type of unit we're looking for and the type of home we're in. Received confirmation for that first appt via text, the appt was about 3-4 weeks out. Timing is fine, I understand everyone is busy these days. The day before the appt, I called to confirm and to get a more precise window for the appt. They say there's a mistake and they can't make it but they will rescheduled and can get us a new appt that's a few weeks out. (I'm assuming mistake means they didn't have us on the books since I was the one that called them to confirmed.) So even though there's an online appointment link on the website, you should probably call back and confirm even if you get a text confirmation.) Received a new text confirming the new appt. On the day of appt., 30 minutes before our scheduled time, I get a call that they weren't coming, they  don't service condos. That info was provided when I made my original appt, and again when I rescheduled by phone. It would have been nice to know they don't work on condos when I initially made the appt. They did provide the name of a company that does work on condos.

mixed review - not sure how many stars to give...   Sky was the contractor Arbor Homes used to install the AC system in our home in 2003.  When we took possession of the home in 2003 we saw the Sky Heating sticker on the equipment, so we called them as the home owners to use them for our regular maintenance and servicing.  

For years it seems things went well with Sky. I could give them 5 stars for this period.  They had a tech we loved that serviced our area and was the one that always did our regular maintenance and service.  Somewhere along the way, they let that tech go.  Turns out talking to Sky front office/dispatch, that the tech was doing too much free stuff for customers, like cleaning the electrostatic filter and other small niceties. The Sky techs after that were ok, not as customer oriented as the other guy, some more surly and just there to do the basic job and get gone.  This would be the 3 star period with Sky. Then, one day, the Sky front office lady got snarky with us and said maybe Sky should back charge us for all the free services their now fired tech did for us.  We dropped Sky after that and went with another company.  This is the zero star moment.  

And this may reflect more on Arbor Custom Homes, but Sky Heating was the contractor used in our neighborhood for the system installs.  The AC system installation and design is basically bad.  Not bad equipment - it's a Trane unit and has been running solid for going on 14 years now.  but the duct design is terrible.  They used a down flow system in a two story house and designed in a sheet metal scoop to force air back to the upstairs.  This AC design has never been able to keep the upstairs cool adequately. Sky could never solve it (this is 2 stars). And other HVAC companies basically say it will require a duct redesign/install with some damper control systems.  Should have been done that from the start. But was a probably a constraint (schedule, money) put on Sky by Arbor Homes.

I can not begin to say enough great things about this company. I have been a customer of Sky Heating and Air Conditioning for a little over 2 years now. It started with having our 15 year old air conditioner and furnace serviced and we were so pleased with the service, professionalism and knowledge of their service tech Rick for our first years maintenance and Gerry for our second years maintenance that we started following their Facebook page and website to see about the other services they offer.

We became very interested in the duct cleaning and Aeroseal service and called them to get information on the process and quote to have it done. After the service manager Michele explained how much more efficient the duct cleaning and Aeroseal would make our existing system we were sold. We booked them for the next week. Again, the crew that showed up, Cesar, Morgan and Corey were very courteous, professional, knowledgeable and answered our many questions. In the Aeroseal process they test the efficiency of your ductwork and we found out that our ductwork has the equivalent of a four foot hole in it, after the Aeroseal it was virtually airtight. In just a few short months we have noticed a considerable savings on our gas and electric bills.

Another service that we have taken advantage of is the Laundry Pro. This device took their technician 15 minutes to install to our existing washing machine. The science is beyond me, but it uses only cold water and NO detergent. This is a big deal because our son has very sensitive skin. The clothes actually come out of the wash feeling cleaner and softer and again only cold water and no soap! More money in the bank for us!

Next on our list of things that Sky Heating and Air Conditioning can do for us will be an air scrubber because our other son has severe seasonal allergies.  

When the furnace and air conditioner that came with our house finally give up the goat you know Sky Heating and Air Conditioning will be getting the call!

Grant came over and helped remove a tight hose from the water valve. Rather than jumping ahead and moving towards a full replacement he and his partner tried to remove the hose. They were completely professional and helpful. I would recommend Sky Heating for any plumbing needs!

Very happy with Sky Heating. Had a quite difficult problem that other companies couldn't/wouldn't fix. These guys got it done. 1) The women on the phone (so far it's been all women). Excellent and very easy to talk to. Many home service companies have surly people in the office. But these ladies are great (and probably don't get the recognition they deserve). 2) Salesman who came to my house. Didn't get a sale but ended up with a happy customer. Thanks! 3) The two techs who did the work. Both were pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient and cared about the work they do. Full recommendation from me.

We had our AC installed by Sky Heating in 2017. I had them come out and check it in 2018 because I didn't think it was keeping up with the heat. They told me it was working properly. Now 2019 its 90 plus outside and once again it can barely keep up. So if you want some thing mediocre then sky heating is for you. If you want something cold go somewhere else. Our home is 1700 sq feet with zero shade and they installed a 2 ton unit.

We scheduled a meeting to get a quote on a new HVAC system with Sky Heating and A/C. Ben from Sky showed up. We were immediately met with high pressure sales tactics (e.g. down talking other companies, over-excessive use of confusing technical jargon, ambiguous and confusing answers to questions, and typical Why would you want to do business with anyone else? and How do we get your business today? attitude). We continued to ask for a paper quote, or something that outlined options and broke down pricing. Anytime we asked for paper quotes, Ben would change the subject and would rehash his high pressure sales agenda. When I finally got the point across that we're looking for quotes to do educated comparisons/research, we were told he would have to come back next week to present those quotes, which was confusing since you should come prepared to provide quotes during a sales meeting. I told him that we would be fine with a telephone call or Zoom meeting, to which he agreed. We scheduled the follow-up meeting prior to him leaving. Ben completely missed the meeting, and never followed up. First impressions matter. We will never do business, or recommend business to anyone, with Sky Heating and A/C.

We have used this company since 2014 when we had them replace our very old Lennox furnace with a new Trane. We also signed a service contract with them with monthly payments. We were very pleased initially, there was a problem with the igniter on the then-brand-new furnace during a cold snap, and they came out multiple times very promptly (apparently it was a problem with failing Trane part). They also replaced our A/C unit earlier this year and that went great (and right before the 115-degree days fortunately for us). So they came out yesterday for routine maintenance on the furnace, and the technician (Jason) said even before doing the service that he was going to give me 6 options as to what to do for service -- so before looking at the unit he knew that something would need to be done? At the end, he said that our blower wheel may need to be cleaned -- not urgent -- that would be $540. Then a bunch of other options, all of which included a surge protector (I told him we had surge protector for the house, he said that this would be a back-up in case it failed), right up to sealing all the ducts for $6,000. I initially had him schedule the blower wheel cleaning, but in thinking about it, he said that it would take at most 2 hours, it seemed very expensive. I checked online, and people were complaining that companies wanted even $400 for this, and there were YouTube videos on how to do it. So I called a couple of other local companies and got estimates in the $300 to $400 range. I called Sky back, was told by the receptionist that they were a premium company, and then I talked to Jason who said that that was their hard price for the service and he does a great job. In reading the Yelp reviews, people either love this company, or complain about rip-off prices and lack of call-backs. I guess we are somewhere in between, but I was quite bothered by the hard sell, and the idea that we would need something done to the system even before looking. Ultimately we decided not to get the blower wheel cleaned at this time because it was not that dirty or urgent, but are trying to determine what to do at this point. We still have the service contract.

I booked the regular maintenance, light cleaning service for up and running equipment, very well trained technician (sales person) came out to sell me a new piece of furnace and was discussion anything and everything about new purchase than doing the maintenance work. I wouldn't recommend this company if you don't have their branded equipment installed in. Absolutely not recommending this company for any maintenance or service work.

In July of 2018 I had a tech come out because I had water leaking from my AC unit. After four attempts to fix it I was told the unit had been installed improperly by Sky AC and Heating. Even though the unit was installed wrong they refused to service the unit without a large expense in maintenance. I was told the warranty had expired and they had no obligation to honor their product. Several weeks later I was told that the manufacturer had actually built the unit incorrectly and my tech said he would contact them for a resolution. He never followed through, he never attempted to contact me again. They absolutely will not return my calls after repeated attempts to fix this.

I understand a warranty situation for maintenance, but this unit was defective and installed improperly from day one. As a customer it would seem only right for them to take this into consideration...instead of throwing their hands up and telling me it's my problem.

Stay away from merchants that do not stand behind their products.

We bought a house on the hills in Happy Valley that came with no A/C and after three summers of experiencing the sweltering heat waves, I finally decided this would be the summer we would get central A/C.  

I ran into a neighbor who recommended Sky Heating so I called and despite the busy summer schedule, Sky Heating had someone contact me within 24 hours to schedule a system designer to come out and do a walk through to give me an estimate.  Another company I contacted asked me a bunch of questions over the phone and I told that person that I just would prefer he come out or send someone to come out as I was not sure I was answering the questions properly.  I actually have no knack for this sort of thing.  

The system designer from Sky Heating who met with me, Karin, was amazing.  No pushy sales.  Just laid it out for me so that I could decide.  I didn't want 100 options - that would paralyze my decision making process.  I just wanted her to recommend the best few.  She taught me a few things along the way and I totally appreciated that.  As I mentioned, they were busy and even though my scheduled installation was about 2 weeks out, they did put me on the wait list in case another customer canceled.  They were able to get the installation done a week BEFORE the original scheduled one as I was leaving to go out of town and needed the A/C before I left.  

It's so wonderful to come back from vacation and have A/C as Portland got hit with yet another heat wave.  

I took Karin's recommendation and bought a Trane system as it's the best on the market - in terms of how they are made and the longevity of the system.  If you're considering options, Trane A/Cs are supposed to be the best.  I also opted to pay for the extra feature to be able to view and control my home's heat and A/C temperature via a website.  Totally worth it!  Sky Heating also gave me an estimate to add the 2 zone electronic damper system later if we decided we needed it since our home has 3 levels.  They will not raise the price (quote is good for a year) on this later.

I was most impressed with the technicians and staff as they have been with the company for 20 plus years.  Karin has been with Sky Heating for 30 years, I think and Mike, one of the technicians has been with Sky Heating for 23 years.  Not only are the employees loyal to Sky Heating, they are also knowledgeable about the products.  They know what they are doing.  And they all seem to support each other so that was refreshing to see the teamwork.  

If you do get an A/C system installed, be prepared for the job to possibly take 2 days to complete if an electrician is needed to do the wiring.  Despite this, I was very grateful to have A/C.

It turns out that I live in the same neighborhood as the owners of Sky Heating (I didn't know this before calling them) and we have become friends.  They are the sweetest couple.  Even if we weren't friends, I would recommend the company.  They are professional, transparent, and ethical.  They do not overcharge.  They treat their customers with respect and truly strive to do the right thing.  When I read the negative reviews from some of the other customers in the past, I feel these remarks are unwarranted.  As a business owner myself (not in the US), I totally feel the pain for the owners of Sky Heating when all they want to do is the right thing for a customer and that customer just wants to complain.  

I would recommend Sky Heating wholeheartedly and look forward to enjoying my new A/C for many years to come!

I had originally given a 5 star review for Sky Heating and Air, but I'm so disappointed.  I called them because the heater would not work after it was 40 degrees, and even our emergency heat wasn't working.  They came out told me I needed a new heat pump and that would fix the issue.

Clearly, NO.  It not only wasn't fixed then, but each year they come out and come out and I never have consistent heating.  Each time I tell them to please fix it this time with all the money I put into it.  I'm now wondering if it WAS the heat pump and today, if they don't fix it for good, I'm calling another service and if they find the problem, I'm just going to small claims court to recoup what I paid Sky Heating and Air for something I clearly didn't need.  Because their fix has never worked, and the last guy who was out said he couldn't even find the dampers.

How can you be unable to find dampers?

Especially when my insurance company was willing to pay for the entire repair before...and I told them replace whatever they needed to and get it fixed.  But no, they didn't even look at the dampers clearly because they DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE THEY ARE.

I had them out the last time on the day before Thanksgiving.  Now I have been without heat in the house for a week at that point... Some great warranty huh?  I am partially disabled and cold is really bad on my injuries.  We have a daughter with a heart condition... we explained all this and a week was the fastest they could come out.

They come out he does the same thing they did the last two times, and I told him You always do that, it isn't enough...FIX IT.  He says it is all he can do and leaves.  Surely as the sun rose on Thanksgiving morning, a day I have guests coming for dinner of course, we awake to 61 degrees in the house.

We call the emergency number and we are told that they can't get to us today but Saturday probably.  No call no nothing Saturday...so on Sunday my husband is exasperated and calls back.  He tells my husband that he assumed it started working again.  WHAT?  We've been waiting on you to fix it!  

He says that he'll have someone out first thing Monday morning.  It's 11:18.  No call, no show.  

Update:  Jim Allen came out from Sky Heating and after all these years, said Well the pump that you got is much more powerful than the one you had.  Therefore, you are putting a LOT more air through at a time. You cannot have closed registers with zones this small.  Someone should have told you that when we installed the heat pump.

No one did...as you can see from the response below.  I always was told that you have those vents that close and open to close off rooms you don't want to use.  

Jim suggested that the downstairs should all be on one zone since the size of the heat pump was increased so dramatically and told me in front of my employee, that this should have been done at the time of heat pump installation as part of proper installation.

I really appreciated Jim taking a lot of time to FIND the problem instead of just repeatedly doing the same thing that others had done multiple times.  He LISTENED to me, and found the actual issue.  He said that he would suggest that the two downstairs zones be made into one, as should have been done when the much larger unit was installed.  I am hoping that Sky Heating will come do that and that they will cover the issue if the over limit switch goes out from being triggered so much, since they did sell me a MUCH larger system that just can't do this small of zones well.

At this point, the situation seems to be fixed, at least for this year, by him opening all the vents up--however, I would like to be able to close off rooms I don't need as much heat in, as I could before this new heat pump arrived.  

My only remaining concern with the situation is that the conversations my husband had in a room full of people at Thanksgiving on speakerphone, are being described as not happening by the owner who was not present in the conversation.  We had a room of family and guests who heard the conversation, yet he insists we are somehow lying.  That, I don't appreciate.  I'm sure that protocol may be one thing, but clearly that protocol was not followed in this case.  That is not my fault, and no one should be threatening to take action because I tell others about my experience, much of which witnesses experienced.

Yes, when you hook up a new system that is more powerful and can change how things work, you need to hook it up in such a way it will work, and you need to explain any changes in it to the customer.  It's so much easier to handle these things the way Jim did, with kindness and a correct fix than to yell at the customer for being upset at being cold.

I've used sky ever since we bought our house and we're very happy! They explain how the heater and ac work and things to look out for. Today we had Kurt and he was amazing! He told me how I could save money on our filters (by not buying from them) and that they'd still install for me! He noticed that our starter may be on the decline but didn't pressure me to buy a new one, and explained how it worked and what to expect. He was also great with our yellow lab! Oh, and they gave me an appointment within 3 days of me calling, so we got served right away! I'm very happy, and you will too :)

We have had 2 experiences with this company now and neither has left me thinking favorably of them.   The first came when we bought our house about a year ago.   The owners were supposed to have the furnace serviced and some ducts under the house replaced.   Things got rushed towards closing and it slipped passed me that the furnace wasn't serviced and all but one duct were replaced under the house.   By the time i realized it i talked with the previous owners and they said they'd asked Sky to do all the work and they thought it had been done.   I talked to Sky and they said they only did what they were asked.   Hard to know who was lying in that situation.   I chalked it up top miscommunication and didn't hold it against anyone.   This fall we wanted to have our furnace serviced,  so based on the positive reviews that Sky has we decided to give them a try.   They sent a tech out who told my girlfriend parts needed to be replaced and quoted us about $2k to replace them and clean the furnace.   He said he wouldn't recommend doing it with the age of the furnace and that we just needed to buy a new system.   They were quick to schedule a time to send a sales rep. over who was eager to sell us a new furnace.   When we found out the cost we decided to get a second opinion.   Another company came out and cleaned the furnace for $200.  The wobble in the motor that Sky tried to say was a beating going out is gone now that all the old dust isn't throwing it out of balance.   They might do good work when they do work,  but i feel like they are more concerned with getting their self branded line of HVAC equipment into your home than doing repair work.   I won't use them for anything again.  The only reason i give them 2 stars is their reps were pleasant and professional acting.

Omg stay away from this company. Seriously the worst customer service. Called for an appointment three weeks ago and had to call today to confirm. Today is my appointment. They moved the time of the appointment which doesn't work for me and told me it's not like I can make it any earlier when they're the ones who gave me the timeframe in the first place. The other thing they told me that I had the wrong type of appointment, I should be scheduled for no heat and instead I'm scheduled for maintenance. Umm, I didn't write down what the appointment was on their end. I think when someone calls and says the furnace isn't working and won't come on, it should be expected there is no heat. But I guess they've got enough business that don't need to worry about customer service. But I would beware. I found another place that can come out in less than a week. Try Morrison Heating instead.

After three days of no call back they are off my list. When I called and said I wanted an estimate for a new filtration system for our furnace they had no idea what I was talking about. She tried to set me up for a furnace filter service charge to change the filter. I explained, AGAIN, in detail I need a completely new filtering system. After two transfers and being told they would have to talk to a super they would call me right back. No callback! Everyone I talked sounded like they had no idea what was going on. Still, NOT, waiting!

Don't use this place. They sell you services, then turn around and deny some of the services you were told were covered. Took me 3 weeks to get anyone to call me back, so I cancelled my service contract (never used). They tried to say they would only refund half. HALF! Even after they refused to call me and I never used my contract. Then, when they finally agreed to refund full, they lied about the check is in the mail. Still fighting with them to get my money back for services they never provided due to TERRIBLE customer service. It's been two months my wife and i have been dealing with these people.Better Business Bureau is my next call.

UPDATE: Did I say anything about the service call? Nope. Did I ever threaten to cancel a check? Nope. You guys cashed it within days of receiving it. I said I had the digital image of the check from the bank showing that it HAD been cashed, because you guys told my wife the week before that you couldn't find record of ever receiving payment. I'm sorry if customer service and accounting aren't YOUR strong suits. Learn how to treat customers instead of lying about a refund and never sending the check that was supposedly in the mail three weeks ago. This reply from the OWNER should tell you a lot about the culture of their businehow terribly they will treat a customer if they have any complaints.

UPDATE AGAIN (because I apparently have to tell you the real story): I demanded a refund for the service contract. Never did I demand a refund for the service contract. Don't lie that you refunded the full $259, because that's complete bullshit. And having to wait on checks to clear? How long does that take? 6 weeks? That's even a full two weeks after a refund (for the $150, so don't try to lie again about me supposedly demanding the diagnostic fee back) was supposedly authorized. Your people had a horrible habit of promising to call back, then saying they're too busy to call me back. I can't help it if you're too disorganized to properly train your sales people or be bothered to track customers's complaints. Recordings? Oregon is a two party state, and I never consented, so good luck with some bullshit recordings you either don't actually have or you're not allowed to have. It's funny, because as the owner, you're showing everyone on Yelp your standard for customer service. Someone has a complaint, they're not your priority and you attack them. THIS, ladies and gentlemen is your customer service you can expect if something isn't up to your standards. Go elsewhere. Cheaper and better service.

I gave 2 stars because for most systems they may be fine - but if you have a mini-split don't bother - they don't know what the are doing.

I've had Sky Heating here to do routine maintenance checks on two mini-split systems before.  They checked both systems in April 2017.  One of the systems stopped working in early August, during those triple-digit hot days.  The cooling cycle stopped, the fan quit, and the system just hummed.  I called Sky for service & they set me up for an appointment late that day.

They sent the same technician as always, who seems like a nice guy.  When I turned the system on, the cooling cycle started just as it should.  The technician opened the machine, looked at the filters, held a thermometer up & said well, it's cooling...  Then he told me he doesn't know anything about mini-splits.  Said just let it run and if it acts up again, call back & he will have to call the factory which is on the east coast - it was too late to call them that afternoon.

He left, and a few minutes later the machine stopped cooling and went back to humming.  I called Sky & got their answering service, since by then the office was closed.  I left a message for the technician, telling him the system shut off again.  I asked him to contact me, and to please call the factory in the morning.  I waited all the next morning, but never heard back from Sky.  I called Pyramid Heating later that day (see my review of Pyramid Heating).

It appears that when Sky was doing 'maintenance' on my mini-splits, they did not know enough about them to do it right.  I should have asked what training they have on these systems - my mistake.  If you have mini-split AC units, don't bother calling Sky Heating.

I have been doing a lot of work on my 100 year old home and they are the first contractor to come in, get the work done beautifully and on time. Karen was the estimator I dealt with, and she was extremely responsive. She came out quickly to discuss options and to give me a bid, She did not try to oversell me, and she helped me to maximize my energy rebates and tax credits. And she was just a really knowledgeable and honest person!
The installer was on time, professional, kind and funny. He did great work and I absolutely love my heat pump. I am an electrician and Sky Heating treated me just as I treat my customers, and how I expect customers should be treated.  I just wish that they also service hydronic radiant floor systems!

Karin was a very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure we got what we needed, and clearly explained the heating/cooling terminology. (This helped alot when we were getting bids from other contractors) Overall Sky Heating beat everyone in the professionalism with a typed up quote, great knowledgeable staff, and making sure the furnace was installed the right way without cutting corners.

We got a new AC unit installed by them 2 years ago and paid about $5,500. This year the unit stopped cooling and they told me that the condenser coil has a leak. Since their installation warranty is only one year, I have to pay them for the labor to replace the coil which i received a quote for $1,500. Assuming it takes the technician 8 hours to install, that means they are charging me $187/hour. Even if you assume $100 in consumables to install the coil, that is still $175/hour. These tech's probably get paid in the low $20's so the rest is all over head and profit for Sky heating. But of course they wont breakdown the estimate for you. When I called their service manager, she told me that they quote as a lump sum and thats the price. I feel ripped off since I got the unit from them 2 years ago, and now they want to rip me off in the labor to install a new part in a unit they sold me two years ago.

My gas furnace blower motor decided to fail on Sunday in the middle of this cold weather. I called Sky Heating & Air Conditioning and spoke to Morgan a service technician who was working that day. He diagnosed the problem and asked me to text him the product and serial numbers from my unit. He also instructed me on what to do to avoid further damage. The next morning I was contacted by Amy who gave me a quote and scheduled the service for the next day. Morgan picked up the motor and arrived at the scheduled time.  He replaced the motor, adjusted other components, and cleaned a sensor. He explained what he was doing when asked and my furnace is now working and quieter than before.

I did call other companies and the estimate from Sky Heating was very fair and there were no up charges or changes to the quoted price.  I plan to join their Maintenance Program and let them prolong the lifetime and performance of my Heating and air conditioning system.

I was a new customer, and the office support was very friendly on the phone and made scheduling a furnace repair very easy. Their system provides convenient notifications for estimated arrival time, along with a photo of the assigned technician and tracking capability. Our technician Don W was friendly and professional, and while our furnace first seemed to perform adequately, he took the time to thoroughly investigate when I explained more about how it wasn't working for us. He made the fix and cycled a few times to ensure the repair was complete, and it's continued running well for us. While we had not kept up with the recommended furnace maintenance schedule that could have prevented the issue, he was not judgmental and provided a helpful variety of service and equipment options we can consider going forward. He also took the time to answer other questions I had unrelated to the repair at hand. Their system's follow-up email with the diagnostic summary and quote attachments was excellent. Don's service was great, and I highly recommend Sky Heating & Air Conditioning!

On 7/27/18 Brian of Sky Heating came to my residence to fix my Air Conditioner. Brian right away tried to sell me a a special air cleaner for just
$2700.00 I told him I did not need it as I have no allergies and keep a very clean house. Brian then told me I should do it for my visitors. He wanted to install it ASAP. Again I said no. He replaced my air filter which needed to be done. My AC unit was frozen and would not work. Brian said he fixed it but following his directions he wrote it still was frozen.  The heat was about 100 degrees during this time. Not fun having not having air with guests out of town staying with me....
Brian did come back and insisted that I needed a $1700.00 replacement of my Air conditioner unit that he could replace the next day.
I live alone in an upscale community and am older. I really felt like he just tried to up sale me on items because he thought I was an ignorant woman
that had money.. I wish!
I called another vender that came out and fixed everything properly
for $400.00. This vender checked my two AC units outside and cleaned them unlike Brian. Do not like to write poor reviews, but I do not like feeling someone tried to take advantage of me.

I had an Great Experience with Sky Heating.  Gregg D. was awesome. He is professional and thinks outside the box. They worked me into an earlier slot and did a great job installing a system for me.  Their price was a couple hundred dollars less than another major competitor.

Rediculously high charge - technician showed up on time and diagnosed the furnace ignition control board need be replaced. They have the part in the van but charges $453 for the replacement, or pay $109 for the investigation trip. Other HVAC  service company charges around $310 for both labor and part. Don't know why they ask for 50% more than others do! I asked if they can lower the fee they don't give in a penny.

We replaced our furnace and water heater in September 2016.  We had been prepared to go with another company, but felt they were not being completely up front, but our Sky sales person showed competence in his knowledge of the system and installation process.  

Our installation team were professional and respectful of our home.  

If I was to judge Sky only by the sales and installs process, they would get 5 stars, but the post sales experience had been less than expected.

I asked for quotes several times for replacement filters, but never received the information.

Additionally, the person who helps with the tax credits made errors on our paperwork, and when I talked to her about the issues, first she denied the error then was overly rude to me about challenging her work.  Lastly when she sent me the corrected paperwork, it was still wrong.  Because of her continued errors, I still have not gotten the necessary paperwork from the State of Oregon so I can claim my tax credits, even though I started the process to request the tax credit in October 2016.  This is delaying my ability to file our taxes.

The State of Oregon says the request is delayed because Sky hasn't provided them with necessary answers.

I'd prefer using Sky for on going maintenance of our new system, but these post sales issues have me reconsidering our maintenance options.

This is a SECOND review in a week....  a problem unrelated to the fix last week. Had everything shut down, a/c on a 90* day, and walked into a very warm house. Called Sky because Bill was great last time.  Left a message with their answering service and got a call back about 20 mins later.  He walked me through a couple of checks and explained how to test inside the furnace - fixed it. No visit, no cost.  That's quality service!

Amy in the office was one of the nicest and most professional people I have dealt with since moving to Portland 5 years ago. Rick, our service tech was both professional and knowledgeable, he was on time and fast in diagnosing and repairing our heating unit. Sky is very reasonably priced and was able to see us on the same day we called without heat. We called 5 other companies and Sky was the only company able to see us. I highly recommend Sky to anyone looking for heating or cooling repairs or service! Thanks again Amy and Rick!

I have a small apartment building that needs 2-4 HVAC systems.  I called Sky Heating for a quote and set up an appointment.  They didn't show up on the day of the appointment and then didn't return three phone calls asking for a re-schedule.  When I finally got them to come back out and see the job, they never followed up with the bid proposal (worth about $15-$18K a nice sized job for them) and have still not responded to repeated calls to both the business itself as well as the cell phone of the rep who came out.  What a terrible way to run a business!

I would not recommend Sky Heating. The management is rude and I own residential and commercial property and have never been treated with such disrespect. I wanted to speak to the owner, but the owner does not speak to customers.....what does that tell you? I have been a customer for many years, but they have lost a very loyal customer now....maybe now I will hear from the owner.

My wife and I are very pleased with the entire process from Karin showing us what we would need to cool our house to Uziel and his partner performing the install.  The install was clean, they were courteous, on time and pleasant to be around.  They finished early too, which shows how they were efficient with their time.  5 stars is well deserved.

I would have given them zero stars if it was an option: Extremely displeased, please read:

Prior to purchasing my house Sky Heating was contracted to clean, inspect and assess any repairs that needed to be made.  They gave my HVAC a clean bill of health... 1 month later my capacitor went out, which is electrical and almost impossible to predict.  Although they charged me $369 for a $20 piece. First mistake

2 months later my HVAC quit working at which point I called to have them check to make sure it wasn't the capacitor again... I told Tasha that it appears to be the same problem as before and to check the warranty on the part, which she agreed to. When the repairman came out he verified that it wasnt the capacitor but went ahead and took the rest of the unit apart until he diagnosed it was a screw that worked itself loose.  Odd that there were any loose parts being that they just serviced and tuned it 3 months prior.... Second mistake

Sky Heating wanted to charge me close to $1000 for another diagnostic fee and the parts to repair the motor/blower.  I refused to pay since they should warranty their work and I never asked the repairman to disassemble anything... merely to verify that the capacitor was working.... Third mistake

I am still getting invoiced for something that Tasha said was covered by my warranty.

Also, I went with a local company who only charged me $277 to replace the motor and blower.... SKY HEATING is a rip off, they wanted close to $1000!!!  I would rather have a root canal than use this overpriced sub par service again.

Consistent with other reviewers, they don't have an appointment scheduling process.  They take your call and pretend to make an appointment complete with two hour timewindow.  Then they are a no show.

Don't waste your time calling them, you will likely sit around waiting for a technician that will never show.

update:  Two months later, TWO, they post a reply at yelp, but have never called to apologize or attempt to reschedule service?  NO thank you.

Had a horrible experience. As a person of color I am used to micro aggressions but wasn't expecting this experience based on this company's reviews. After completing a job at my condo the service person went out to sign papers and came back with my invoice. I gave him my AMEX and he said they didn't take American Express, despite the company stating they take all forms of payment in their website. He replied that if I didn't pay within 30 days I would be turned over to collections. A later call to the company and I was told they do accept American Express. I told the woman accepting my payment my experience and that I wanted to complain as I felt that my black skin played into his dialogue over not accepting my card and his subsequent threat of collections. I was rerouted to a manager who went to great lengths to whitesplain how that wasn't the service persons intent and that he was a good person.  She was very intent on defending and excusing his behaviors and was unable to listen to my black experience. My question is if they don't take American Express why did they so readily take a phone payment using the very card the service person refused to take 2 days earlier? Not a good feeling as the service was great otherwise and I love passing on businesses that provide good service.

My husband dealt with these guys for the most part. Spoke with them over the phone, discussed our problems with our central heating system, arranged for someone to come by, etc. I dealt with the guy that came over to take a look at it. This guy was a bit of an Eeyore. Complained about life (but not the company or work), seemed really mopey as he worked. He gave me some good tips on how to keep things running well and basic maintenance but with a hint of a tone that said duh, you should know this.' Very small hint. Anyhow, he ended up not being able to fix our problem (but not without a solid effort). My husband call the company to tell them our heater still wasn't fixed and they sent out another guy the next day (on a Saturday) to try again. Turns out a piece was broken, which they happily ordered for us.

I'm sure my husband would give them 5 stars but Eeyore was a bit of a bear to work with. I also felt they should've called us to let us know when the parts would be in or when they could come back to install but my husband had to call them. It's always nice to have the company be more proactive than the customer but overall it's been satisfactory service.

I met with and got bids from 5 different vendors when I wanted to install a/c in my home, which had none.
I chose Sky for the following reasons: the price was competitive, they belong to trade associations like the Homebuilders Association, which attracts the most professional vendors, their staff was highly responsive, efficient and likeable, and they were thorough in assessing the needs of my house in terms of a/c.
Karin the sales agent really knew the technical side of the business, and her warm personality was great to work with. Anthony was quick, knowledgeable, and personable.  Travis is a very astute business person, also highly responsive.  The installer was also very personable, on time, and kept me informed of progress. Karin was quick to respond to my concerns about some of the older comments in social media about Sky with a reassuring answer.
Two remodelers I knew well also recommended Sky.
It was a great process with Sky Heating from start to finish.

I talked with 7 different HVAC companies and decide to go with Sky Heating. I had my central AC installed back in early spring of 2015. Karin came and did an honest assessment and gave a recommendation of what my house needs. She also included a wifi thermostat which is very easy to use.Then came installation time. Roberto and his team did an excellent job. Roberto taught me how to change the filter and what to do with the damper during change of seasons. Summer came and we had a string of 90 degree weather. It was very comfortable in the house and now I can invite friends and family in the house without worrying about their comfort level. Kudos to Karin, Roberto and his team.

The people at Sky Heating are, without a doubt, a pleasure to work with, take pride in their work, and worthy of a flattering Yelp review. I wanted one ductless Mitsubishi mini split installed to heat my newly finished basement apartment. Karin, who provided the free consult, treated this very small project like it was worthy of her time...something that separated her from her competitors and something that I appreciated. At the end of the free consult, I felt comfortable with my options (didn't feel up-sold), she came in on budget, and left me feeling confident that everything would be done correctly by good people. And good people they were. Jim, the installer, verbalized a passion about ductless systems, demonstrated a pride in his work, and a had a child-like exuberance about the toy he just installed...something that was quite inspiring. Gordon, the electrician, was a down to earth person who felt bad about needing to cut into some finished drywall and made things right in his world by offering me a credit for something that was included in the bid, but ended up not using. Even the staff I worked over the phone with was competent and a pleasure to talk to. And of course, Karin, continued to follow-up during and after the installation to make sure I was receiving a great experience. In an over-populated world where it is so easy to make a customer just a number, this company somehow continues to pride themselves on providing old school, small town feel customer service. It's refreshing and feels good when the job is done right!

The only feedback I had for Karin on how to make their service even better was to provide better customer education on what to expect on the day of installation and how the city mechanical/electrical permitting process worked. Of course, Karin was open to receiving this feedback and immediately had ideas in mind on how to correct it.

I had a ductless heat pump and the install was mostly well done, but there have been a lot of small issues that have added up to a general annoyance with Sky.

During the quote, Travis made a point to tout the UV-resistant tape they put on the lineset insulation, but they never did this. Honestly I don't care about this, as replacing the insulation whenever it crumbles is trivial, but it was ironic for sure.

Travis said they would seal up the hole in the wall -- of course -- as if it was unthinkable that they would not do this. But during a later visit from a tech, it was discovered that the hole through the plaster wasn't sealed with anything. He seemed unprepared and ended up using a scrap of rock wool I had laying around to seal the hole. Fibrous insulation like rock wool is not an air barrier, so this was still a poor solution.

I've had issues with a bad smell during warm weather when it is in cooling mode. They came by one time and cleaned the evaporator coil (this was also when the hole in the wall was semi-plugged) and the issue still has not been solved. The smell is not unbearable but it is an annoyance and I'm fearful that we'll have to live with it for 20+ years until the thing is replaced.

The indoor unit also occasionally makes a ticking noise because it vibrates. I've tapped/adjusted the plastic housing many times hoping it would go away, but it always comes back, maybe once a day or so. I emailed Sky about this and received no response. This is at least the second time I've had them drop the ball on communication. I even sent them a second email with a video of the ticking noise happening. Here it is: youtube.com/watch?v=rH1D…

Their electrician also seemed like a slob. He did not use dust collection when boring through basement joists, leaving a sawdust mess. He also marked all over my main panel with a sharpie.

These issues aside, I'm mostly happy with my heat pump. I'm an efficiency nerd and ductless heat pumps really are the best thing you can get right now. My bills are certainly low. I also liked that Travis did a Manual J heat load calculation -- this is part of what sold me. They seemed very professional. But it's seeming like that professionalism is limited to the sales experience only.

I just bought a home and I knew that Sky had installed a new furnace in the home within the last 6 months.  I called them to ask some questions about the existing system and inquire about getting some new additional work done.  The receptionist took down all of my information and told me she'd pass it on to someone else who would return my call.  They never returned my call so I had to find another vendor to do the new work.

This is a limited review as I did not actually buy anything, but the experience with Greg from Sky was great:
I have a Carrier heat pump that is chronically failing for expensive things, another heating company has serviced it for years unsuccessfully so I randomly called Sky to see about a full replacement (gas or heat pump).  Greg from Sky arrived and actually recognized the unit- he and his guys installed it 10 years ago.  He is a sales guy who's job is to convince me to buy a brand new Trane furnace, but he isn't a slime ball like that and recommends I use a different company to get the heat pump working right.  He was right, they came out and figured out root cause and did the job for half of the other companies quote.  
Greg even started taking off panels to show me tricks, things I didn't know about the unit and care tips to prevent issues (at no benefit to him whatsoever).  
This is the behavior of a trust-worthy company and sales guy, so if you are legitimately looking for upgrades or new furnaces stuff, I would start here.

I had a great experience with Sky Heating, they replaced my oil furnace with a new Trane gas furnace and removed my non-working air conditioner.

As a new homeowner, I dove into the internet to research furnaces before contacting any contractors.  On one of the HVAC forums, I found Travis (part owner of Sky heating) replying to questions.  He was so thorough with his responses that I had to call him (along with 4 other companies) for an estimate.  

Travis was a great sport and supplied me with multiple estimates for different combinations of work (I wanted to convert to a gas water heater).  Combine that with Sky's competitive estimate and the choice was clear, we hired Sky.

Roberto was our installer and he was polite and kept a very clean work space (plastic sheeting and paper flooring were put down to protect our floors and Roberto wore booties when he had to visit other parts of the house).

The work was done in two business days.

Sky did such a great job that my neighbor hired them as well.

Here are some tips that I would like to share if you are considering replacing your oil furnace:

1.  Ask for additional tees in your new gas plumbing so that you can avoid replumbing for future gas appliances (fireplaces, water heaters, dryers, BBQs, etc).

2.  The brand of furnace does matter.  Trane is like a Chevy or Ford, the parts are cheap and plentiful, and it can be repaired with after market parts.  Carrier and Lennox are more like BMW and Mercedes, the parts are more expensive and harder to find (i.e. fewer warehouses have them, or you cannot buy them as a homeowner).  The warranty/quality between these three brands are very similar, so I choose the brand that was the most straightforward parts/repair wise.

I have been using Sky Heating for all my heating and a/c services for the past 8 years, including installing a tankless water heater, clearing out my clogged dryer ducts, and bringing my gas fireplace back to life. I have found all of the service people they send out to be responsive, efficient, respectful, and knowledgeable. Amy, who books the appointments, goes out of her way to help resolve whatever problem arises in as timely a manner as possible. These days it's a rarity to find a service company so friendly and reliable.

First off, I really wanted to give these guys a solid review.  I got bids from several companies before moving forward with my Geothermal installation.  Travis is very knowledgeable and personable before the purchase.  After the project is started and agreed to he will just push you off on to your project manager.  Which is fine but the project manager is not the decision maker and can't really help you when you really need help.  

Here are a list of the positives:  

1.  Unit is of fine quality and operates as expected.
2.  They give you good options up front for purchase and have some flexibility in scope of project.
3.  Duct work in garage looks professional and in run according to plan.

Here are a list of the negatives:

1.  Responded well before the purchase, difficult to reach after the purchase.
2.  The owner will just push you off to the project manager.
3.  A technician will NEVER call you back on the weekend.  We had our unit installed during a very cold time of year and it was malfunctioning at first (a wire was connected improperly).  I called the answering service (3 times none day) and never received a call back.  This also held true for the following weekend.
4.  The front office folks are no fun to deal with.  Most are rude and want to get off the phone.  Genevieve was the only exception.  She listened and acknowledged frustrations when they occurred and offered solutions.  She was great.
5.  The project, which was started the first week of November 2015, will hopefully be finally complete today, February 5th, 2015.  Yep.  3 months!!
6.  They incorrectly configured the zones upstairs and it took 2+ weeks to get some back out to check it and then another week to repair.
7.  We originally had a gas furnace in the attic and a gas furnace in the garage.  We replaced both gas furnaces with the one geothermal unit.  I was always nervous having a gas fired furnace in the attic.  Well, when they came today to fix a problem called out by the city inspector I learned that they NEVER EVEN CAPPED OFF THE GAS LINE!!!!!  All they did was close the shut off valve and tape it.  This could have killed my family if the shut off valve ever failed.
8.  This system cost my family $37,000.  The system is well work it and we enjoy it.  The company, however, constantly missed deadlines, wouldn't help on the weekends, and failed when it came to the safely of my family.

Be aware if you choose them.

Please note, I can't comment on the quality of their service.
Of course, that's partly because they never showed up.
I called the office, gave the particulars of the ducting work we were looking at getting done, and said they would a rep (Debbie, I think) come over a couple of days later -- an appointment was sent. The rep called and left message later that day, and had apparently not received any info about the work -- she was ready to sell us on a new furnace or heat pump. I called her back and left a message clarifying the work to be done.
When the appointment came, she never showed up.
I called the rep, she said that the office should have called me.
When I called the office, they said it would cost $109 to have a rep come over and give an estimate (though it could be applied to the work.)
In short, their communication is awful -- not just with the customer but with each other.
I might add, and I'm not singling out Sky Heating here, there doesn't appear to be any industry standard with providing estimates.

Its too bad that this company cannot get their scheduleing/customer service figured out.   I called and made an appointment for between 8-10 am.  I took work off in order to be home for the technician and NO ONE SHOWED UP.  I had to call and ask what had happened.  I got a phone call a few hours later with apologies that the customer rep was too busy and didn't get all her critical things done so my appointment was missed.  And now I am out two and a half hours of work and my furnace still needs serviced.

Needless to say Im going with someone else.

Firstly, the service provided and technician that provided it absolutely deserved 5 stars. So let's talk about that. The tech got to my house towards the beginning of the timeframe they gave me on the phone. He was professional, polite, and sweet to my over-friendly dog and curious cat. He gave me good advice on keeping the filter on my tankless hot-water heater clean (which he wasn't even out to look at) and the difference between the expensive washable filter in the furnace ceiling vent, versus a cheap disposable one. And that the latter will actually provide much better ventilation. This visit was just for a simple yearly furnace service, but in my opinion, he went above and beyond to provide great service. He ran all the necessary tests, told me what the point of each was, and how our furnace was stacking up. I picked his brain a little about newer, higher-efficiency models, and he provided me with facts, he didn't try to sell me anything. Which I always really appreciate.

Now, the reason I dropped a star from my rating. When I first called to schedule an appointment, the lady on the phone seemed offended that I would dare dial their number. I wasn't even totally sure I had the right number, because when she answered I couldn't quite make out the business name she used. I politely explained I was looking to have the furnace in our new home inspected, as it hadn't been done since we moved in last spring. She roughly responded with a, are you a current customer!? I said that no, I wasn't. She said, HOLD ON, and, a few seconds later, I realized I was being transferred. Honestly, I was kind of relieved. The next person, though not exactly warm, was much more pleasant and made me an appointment.

So, Sky Heating & AC, if you could just get your office folks to provide the same quality of polite, friendly service that your technician provided to me, you'll be golden. Seriously, though, thank you for a great in-home experience.

After trying to get an appointment with another company for six months, I finally turned to yelp and found Sky Heating.  I got a live voice, a quick appointment and great service (together with Heating and Air Conditioning for Dummies course!) There was some rust in my heating unit and the technician suggested a free carbon monoxide screening, which I readily accepted.  Won't go to anywhere else now and will pass the word!

To the extent a heating and air conditioning contractor can be called fantastic, this is it. Prompt, competent, and above all helpful and reasonably priced. Highly recommended

Easy experience. Great customer service in setting up the appointment and they were able to accommodate the short turnaround time that I needed for furnace maintenance (selling the house). Technician Les was thorough but also quick!

Travis was incredibly helpful and was willing to go the extra mile.  Extremely knowledgeable - ran a manual J calc to confirm proper sizing of units, unlike many other companies that just guessed based on square footage of the house.

Our two-story condo unit had an aging all-in-one indoor unit that was underpowered and inefficient. We had to navigate condo politics to switch to an external heat pump that would do the job. Sky personnel helped us to get board of directors permission and installed a unit that now does the job. They also were very helpful in identifying rebates and tax credits that helped the bottom line. Due to late filing of one such credit, the Energy Trust denied our claim. Again, Sky personnel went the extra mile to get the decision reversed and the rebate approved. They are local, professional and offer excellent service. Highly recommended by our family.

I've used Sky twice now.  First, was when my AC stopped working, and they were really quick, friendly and helpful and got it all fixed up.  The second was when I was having trouble with my gas fireplace, and they were able to help me problem solve over the phone, saving me a service charge.  I would definitely recomment Sky Heating & AC for great service, and will be calling them for all of my future heating and cooling needs.

We decided to get rid of our oil furnace and invest in something quieter, more economical and more efficient.  Sky Heating came recommended by our real estate agent so we started...and ended...with them.  They came out to the house, assessed the layout and offered several different options to choose from.  No pressure, no aggressive, pushy sales tactics. We chose to go with a geothermal system and we're so glad we did!  The installation process is intensive and could have been fraught with glitchy issues, but they did an outstanding job!  Each member of the Sky crew was very skilled, professional and informative. Their customer service is fantastic! Thank you all!

From start to (not even) finish, this has been the worst customer service we have ever seen. Our AC broke and it took 3 or 4 calls and messages to even receive one call back from them. When they did send someone out, he was very rude and condescending, clearly irritated he even had to do this job in the first place. They charged an obscene amount of money for the job that needed to be done and at the end of it, the man left parts on the floor of our garage stating, You guys can finish it and put it back together yourselves. Again, 3 more phone calls before the receptionist, Michelle, informed us we were just being difficult customers and that it was standard practice to leave it incomplete... And hung up on us! For how much we paid them to fix our AC, we expected more than a finish it yourself approach and to be told we are just being difficult. Bottom line: expensive, rude, and a job that is still in pieces on the floor of my garage.

As the prior reviewer said, needing an HVAC guy is never really great.  But Anthony was informative, prompt, and stayed extra to take care of cleaning out our 30 year old heating ducts -- six hours instead of the estimated 3-4, because apparently it had never been done.  He fixed the flow to a couple of rooms that were cold all winter, cleaned out gobs (pounds!) of dust, hair, and dirt, and spent time explaining the process and the updates we need.  They didn't charge extra for the super dirty system, either.

I called and scheduled an appointment on the weekend and received a call first thing Monday morning. The receptionist was very polite and scheduled a service call that same day from 2-4pm. I received a call at approx 3pm saying that the technician got hung up on a previous job and couldn't make it. I informed her that I really wanted to have my AC fixed ASAP and she was able to get another technician out around 4:30-5pm. Morgan (the technician) arrived and was extremely polite. I believe he wasn't supposed to be working that day because he wasn't feeling too well (had a bad burrito the previous day). He replaced my filters in my house (with my own) free of charge, he was able to fix my air conditioner that had a bad capacitor, and found MULTIPLE problems with duct work, drain lines, ventilation, and even the cover on the AC unit. He fixed the ventilation issue, drain line issue, and cover on the AC unit without me having to ask. I couldn't recommend this company enough. I'm extremely impressed! I will be sure to call with any problems in the future. Thank you so much - and please give Morgan a good raise! He deserves it!

called these guys bcz my furnace stopped working, saw there add on channel 12 thinking why not, the tech took 10min to find out what was wrong n gave me a price of 480 to fix it, so I asked for a break down he told me he couldn't do that, called a manager n still said he wasn't allowed to break it down, I'm a plumber n when a customer asks for a break down I give it to them. he told me what was wrong , it was a 29.99 part, I googled it when he was still here n the tech got nervous n started back stepping , telling me be carefull bcz if I cross the wires I'll  blow up my furnace. 4 wires n 1 screw, color coded,  wow!!! told him to get out of my house, tried to make it complicated n tried to scare me into doing the job, these guys don't learn this by themselves they learn these sale tactics from there shop, punch of thieves!!!! do not trust them bcz the chances r they r ripping u off n banking u don't go look yourself how easy it it what they r doing

Sky Heating & Air Conditioning sent their representative Greg Douglass to my home to discuss options for a new heating system for my home.  Greg was very professional and knowledgeable.  He explained that for my particular needs, he would recommend either an electric ductless heat pump or a gas furnace.  After much thought and deliberation, I chose to replace my old gas furnace (beyond repair) with a new more efficient gas furnace.  The installation crew, Matthew and Kelly, installed the new furnace in one day and did a fine job.  The unit I chose was the most affordable gas furnace of those presented to me by 5 different heating contractors. The furnace works very well and I love the programmable thermostat..  Everyone at Sky Heating & Air Conditioning was professional, personable and more than happy to answer all my questions and concerns.  I highly recommend Sky Heating &  Air Conditioning.
