Does anyone like to call a plumber? No. But, the staff at Mr. Rooter are so nice and professional, you'll feel relieved. I have spoken to Rose three times when my ground floor home flooded. She was kind, juggled the schedule to get someone out, and empathetic.
Then Aisha arrived on-schedule to fix a broken bib, replace a hose faucet, and re-attach a toilet. She was so nice, calming and professional. Next time I have another plumbing need, I am going to ask Rose to send Aisha as I considerably appreciate her expertise.

Just had another 10/10 experience with Mr. Rooter of Portland. Came home from a trip to a clogged shower drain. I called to book an appointment around noon. By 3pm the same afternoon I was paying the invoice on a completed job.
I can't believe I paid it, but I was charged over $900 to unclog a small residential bathroom sink line. I had already removed the plastic j-bend and connecting piping but didn't have the tool to remove a stuck wall penetration fitting. The plumber replaced the stuck fitting and snaked the line. He also snaked the shower drain line.
It was easy an easy job and only took 2 hours. I was charged about $250 for the 3 ABS plastic fittings he supplied. The rest was labor. He apologized for the high price and blamed it on INFLATION. $450 an hour is outrageous.
For what little was done $100/hour is high but tolerable. That's what they can do to save their goodwill and public image.
They charged over price and left the cap off our outside drain! Terrible service kind sad tbh!
I scheduled to have my bathroom sink pop drain fixed as it is leaking. First off I scheduled and they said there is no fee for them to come and assess issue. Then another call came and said that they do charge a service fee of $89. They then sent the first plumber to come. She said there is no leak, she did a flood test twice and there is no leak. This is despite me telling her there is a leak that is why I called you. So she went and charged me the $90 and told me that one of the plumbing pipe was not done the right way (not causing any issues) and if I want that fixed. I said we will pass for now as it is not broken. I went to check the sink again after just running the water for a few seconds and there it is...I see the leak.
So I called and informed them that if they charge me $90 that someone need to come again and reasses the leak. They made a call to the first plumber that came and they called me back and asked, Do you want the plumbing pipe fixed?. I said No, all I want fixed is the leaking pop drain and not something else that is not causing any
Problem.
I asked if they can send another person to look at it. The second time around, a very professional person Brian Buelt came with his apprentice. They wore booties to protect the floor which the first person did not. They went straight to work and fixed the problem. He did not charge me anything. Im so glad they fixed the issue and not waste my time w other stuff that I dont need.
Disappointed w the person answering their calls/schedules. Why is she asking me to get something else done that is working perfectly when in fact they have not even answered diagnosed and addressed the leak issue I am calling them for.
We live in a very old but beautiful house that unfortunatly has sewer issues. Mr. Scotty comes out and completely jets it for us and fixes it for up to a year. He is great help and fast and thoural! He explains the issues and the problem and what is only best to do. He offers what coupons he has avaliable as well. He is nice and polite and very easy to talk to as well. I would have never gone with anyone else.
Thank you thank you thank you!! 2 days before Christmas and the day an ice storm is about to hit the area our water heater goes out. They were so nice and so helpful and came out so quickly. Fixed within an hour and hooray we have hot water again. Kind of expensive but no time to shop around. The plumber was very nice and so helpful, he did a great job. Thank you again

Tech came out for a blocked drain, within an hour of being called. Cleared blockage quickly and efficiently. Same drain blocked again that evening. Techs we're out again quickly the next morning. This time there was a rat (drowned) in the drain! Techs could have legitimately charged for the second call since it was unrelated to the first episode, but charged us nothing because we were just here yesterday! Mr. Rooter has been out go-to for this kind of problem for years and will continue to be!

I love Mr. Rooter! I'm a property manager, and I get calls here and there for plumbing problems, and they are always prompt and good at what they do. Very professional too and they come after hours if you need them. Bonus!

This company is awesome! I just moved here from AZ and discovered I needed gutter drains cleared. Mr Rooter scheduler was pleasant, patient and professional on the phone. Prompt response. Extra kudos to Scottie who graciously explained all the idiosyncrasies of an Oregon home. They'll definitely be my go-to company for all future needs.
Had a plumbing problem during the Covid Crisis.
I freaked out because I was getting ready to sell my home.
The toilet was not flushing at all. My lovely spouse told me ( while I was at work) that she was going to remove the toilet, and put in a new one. . ( Screaming in fear in my head imagining sewage spewing in home)!
I called RR Gladstone not thinking I could get service.
After a very brief assessment of my problem, the very polite on the phone said they could come out in an hour.
I called home, stopped my spouse from jackhammering the toilet, and creating a biohazard.
The Roto Rooter Guy comes out, makes a fix of the problem, and for such a Great Fee!
Hooray!!!!!
Problem fixed. Check.
Home not demolished. Check.
Biohazards avoided. Check.

BEWARE! Mr. Rooter came out for a backed up kitchen drain. Didn't fix the problem but got their snake stuck in the drain. For $473 bill the drain was worse off than before. Decided problem was the pipe needed to be redirected in the crawl space. The estimate was $7,800. It would take 1-2 days to do the job. Fortunately a family member had another plumber they had used with great results. They came up with the same correction to the problem. Estimate: $3,000. Job was done yesterday in under 3 hours.
Extremely happy with our experience! I discovered that our laundry room (located in the lower level of our split-level home) was flooding yesterday evening. At first I blamed the washing machine but after a few hours of clean up, we realized it was actually the main drain for the house that was over-flowing every time we ran any water in the house.
I contacted Mr. Rooter at 10:30pm on a Friday night and was connected to a plumber within 15 minutes. He offered to come out right away, but I told him the water issue appeared stable at the moment so the morning would be fine. Caleb came out just after 8am on Saturday morning, went over the issues, reviewed all of our options plus pricing, and got to work!
It was all finished within an hour and a half. I am beyond grateful! Caleb was super knowledgeable and professional and put my mind at ease.
I would recommend Mr. Rooter to anyone having plumbing issues, especially emergency ones! We will definitely contact them again in the future.

Called in with a problem with a floor drain. Mr. Rooter sent out George the same day. He cleaned out the lines and used his camera to look around. We did a lot of testing and the drains are running good now.. ( knock on wood! )
Our health center sewer drain was clogged up to an epic proportion this week. Cody and Jim worked tirelessly to fix our situation, being creative with different ideas and multiple points of access to get us back to normal (that is, open for business) as quickly as possible. The local water bureau was also helpful and on site for this issue. Bottom line, a friendly Mr. Rooter staff worked their butts off taking no breaks, no lunch, and no complaints, to get our job done in a truly professional manner. Well done and many thanks!
I was in the middle of a bathroom remodel on a Sunday afternoon, when a plumbing emergency struck (well, TWO emergencies). Not the best day of the week to have a plumber come out, especially last minute. Every open business turned me down, except Mr Rooter. Tucker (I believe) showed up about a half hour later, diagnosed the issues, gave me an estimate, and went to work. He was awesome, and a total life saver. Because of Mr Rooter, we were able to turn the main water line back on, and now we can install the new toilet. Cost wise it didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary, with the added benefit of coming out on a Sunday and showing up immediately. I'm so grateful for this business.

These guys came within hours of my call and did an amazing job! I had some very clogged pipes and garbage disposal waste that was backing up in the utility sink in my basement! After it was cleared, we also discovered I had a leak. In just a couple of hours they were able to completely clean out my kitchen and basement pipes, replace a portion of pipe and helped clean up the water that leaked on my basement floor. I was terrified as to what this would cost me, but it was all VERY reasonable. They also gave me a big bottle of eco friendly pipe cleaner to help keep my pipes clean moving forward!
Everywhere else I called would have me waiting for DAYS before service and had expensive fees just for coming out to inspect the situation. Not only was their inspection free (whether I used them or not), but these guys were very honest and explained everything along the way, and at no point made me feel pressured to purchase any services I was not ready for.
While I hope I will NOT need to hire a plumber again, I would absolutely use Mr. Rooter again in the future, and highly recommend them to anyone!
We had a sewer line clog that's been on-and off for years (125-year-old house). Mr. Rooter - our long-time drain go-to service - diagnosed a very complex set of sewer and storm drain pipes, found our issue, and used 'pipe lining' to avoid removing a 100-year old tree. They also found a major root ball in the street sewer line and got the City of Portland out to correct a properly-installed city sewer line (tearing up the street et al). The entire team at Mr. Rooter Portland, from the front office to supervisor and dig crew, were fantastic, friendly, and made several trips to make sure all was completed perfectly. I recommend them highly for any drain/sewer work.

They came out with in a few hours and fixed a leaky bathtub. Price was fair they were polite and professional.
Courteous service. Took care of the problem and gave us some tips on how to keep this from happening in the future with a tight bend in the line.
Fourth time Mr. Rooter has been to our home. Each time for a different issue and, every time they have been professional, courteous and quick. Priced right and, discuss what the plan is prior to moving forward with the plan. Always a happy customer.

These guys are the best. Our kitchen drain overflowed during dinner time. At around 6:30pm, we called them and they had someone come out in an hour
He took care of the problem by hydro blasting and cleaned up afterwards. Problem was fixed and area where he worked was spotless

Totally impressed with their ability to respond to my emergency situation within three hours. Others That I had contacted first said they were out 3 to 6 weeks. A very nice pleasant Mr. Rooter gentleman showed up ready to go to work. He did the evaluation of the situation, explained to me what needed to be done and give an estimate of the cost for the work to be done and then set to work immediately. He was done within about an hour and a half which I thought was remarkable. He also Was exact as to the estimated cost and completely cleaned up the area so you would hardly know he was there and double checked both toilets to be sure they were properly operating. I really appreciate the professionalism of this company I would very definitely recommend them to anyone.

I called Mr. Rooter over for a free estimate on having our septic hooked up to the city line. Mr. Brian Lee the Excavation Supervisor who came out to give the estimate happened to show up while we were having another unrelated issue. It was a strange horrible smell coming from our pipes and a small(ish) leek in the sink in the downstairs bathroom. Brian went above and beyond in helping us out and looking into the additional things needed. He was able to fix the issue which was a loose fitting. I am eagerly waiting his estimate for the sewer line. He was on time helpful thorough and quick.
From start to finish everyone was extremely professional and helpful. From the estimate to getting the work done I can't recommend these guys more. They were also cleaned up after the job is done. Real happy with the septic work - regrading pipe from house to tank- they did and we definitely use them again. very fair and professional. These guys are awesomeo

These People did not make this whole experience good they didn't stick to the time promised even after I made an appointment they didn't show up after someone came to fix the shower he put the wrong piece on it didn't fit then it feel off when I asked them to please fix it they didn't show up then they blamed me they took over 500$ for a project they didn't even fix when I asked them to fix it and they said we are really busy maybe another week while my shower wasn't working these people are very unprofessional and won't fix theirs mistakes we had to fix it ourselves
Our water heater is in the attic and has come to the end of its life (19 years). There was a small leak from the drain valve and the drain pan didn't work correctly. Mr Rooter was our first call because they were available on a Sunday and came very quickly. At first I thought their charge to replace the water heater was absurd so I didn't move forward with it. I spent about two weeks searching for better bids just to find out the price was very reasonable compared to others. Those two weeks were very stressful for us. Some companies even refused to see it and one company went in to see the water heater and ran right out :D.
Kevin H was our tech. He returned my phone call promptly, answered all of my questions and addressed all issues. He arrived early with three guys and had it done within 3 hours. He even went to Home Depot to purchase a new drain pan and fixed the drainage pipe for us at no additional cost. He's never hesitated to answer any questions and helped us like a friend. Everything is cleaned up nicely when done. I will definitely call them for future plumbing services. Thank you Mr Rooter for doing such an awesome job!
Fast and efficient service to deal with an emergency overflowing toilet and drain pipe. George was very thorough in his review and assessment of what was going on. Respectful of COVID guidelines and word booties and such to keep the floor clean. Would definitely recommend this business and George for planned and emergency plumbing needs.
George came out and cleared my rain drain at the start of the rainy season. My driveway had flooded with the first big rain. He did excellent work, and was knowledgeable about what he might be up against with my particular drain pipe. He also let me know that it might not be fixable, so he let me know the risks in advance. He told me the price to run his camera in and find out, along with a pressure spray, and I felt that was a good risk. He ultimately was able to clear the clog, and also let me know that my pipes will need to be replaced at some point because they were caving in about 50 feet from the mouth of the drain. Overall it was an excellent service. It's never cheap to get the drains unclogged, but it's a lot cheaper than the hassle and stress of having a flooded garage! Five stars.
The two technicians who fixed the broken pipe under our house were excellent! They were quick and efficient! They explained everything they were doing, even took pictures so we could see before and after shots! They even went out of their way to close all the vents under the house! They were extremely friendly and helpful! This is the second time we've had someone from Mr. Rooter out to fix something and the first time was just as excellent! You are now our official plumber and will highly recommend your services to everybody!

I needed a clogged drain/disposal cleared right away. I called Mr Rooter and hit the jackpot with the technician they sent, Jeremy. He went above and beyond and saved me the cost of a new disposal. I would definitely recommend this company, and while I hope I don't HAVE to call them again, I certainly will next time I need this type of service.
Brian was so helpful and knowledgeable. We have used Mr Rooter to replace a lot of pipes in our old home and they are the best! We are so grateful for Brian's help and for his being so knowledgeable today to solve some issues that comes with old homes.

Two sinks, including the kitchen sink (and dishwasher drainage) backed up in the middle of the Covid crisis. Same day: Jeremy was friendly, efficient, got the job done and tested both sinks, and alerted us to the possibility of a future problem with corrosion on one connection (it's our son's apartment). Altogether very fast, friendly, informative and very competent!

Mr. Rooter was great! We woke up to a flooded basement after the first rain of the season, and they sent out two technicians within the hour. Both were incredibly kind and stuck with us for a couple of hours until we found the problem. They were reasonably priced and helped us when we were in a panic.
A friend noticed a very old slow leaking pipe near the water heater so I called Mr. Rooter (who helped me in the past) -- and though it was about a 2 1/2 week wait to get an appointment, trust me it's worth it. Aisha looked at the tangled web of pipes from my father's construction and was able to replace the pipe efficiently and it looks great (as they send you a photo with the receipt). I really appreciated her honesty and forthrightness on what might potentially happen in this type of repair, but luckily none of that came to pass. I didn't mind waiting for a Mr. Rooter plumber because they do the job right the first time. They don't want to have to come back either! I'm very pleased with the whole process and result!

Very quick response. Bradley arrived at our home within 30 minutes of my call. He was very professional and polite and he assessed the situation, gave me pricing and had it fixed within an hour. He also gave me a lot of helpful information to avoid having a similar problem in the future. I was very pleased with the service.
My only issue is the pricing. $432 for snaking a pipe seems a bit steep, but I didn't call anyone else so maybe that's market. It was about 1.5 hours total time, including all the paperwork, so almost $300/hour.
I called at 5 pm with a moderately serious plumbing issue and expected to make an appointment for the next day if I was lucky. They showed up within an hour worked til 9 then came back first thing in the morning to finish the job. Was given a quote right away and that's what we paid. Will do business with them again.

I am new to the area and don't have a plumber, but was hesitant to call a chain company. So glad I did! I really lucked out with Portland Mr. Rooter, as they sent Jason Belcher to fix my clogged kitchen sink. He quickly diagnosed the problem and offered options for me to consider. He cleared the blockage in short order and I'm very happy to know that I have a 1-year warranty. Not only was he prompt and professional, he was a pleasure to have work in my home. Highly recommend, and will be using Mr. Rooter (and specifically requesting Jason!) for plumbing needs in the future.
Jim & Killian came by my grandmother's house this morning to take care of a plugged sewer pipe. She called them first thing this moning and they were quick to respond. (They were there at 8:30 a.m. this morning.) They were quick and efficient in their work, and went over and above the necessities to make sure everything was taken care of. I have a regular guy for plumbing issues but had a clog that needed immediate attention so I called Mr Rooter as I see these trucks in the neighborhood often.
Pros- called and they said 1 Hour. Plumber show up almost exactly at 1 Hour (under). Fixed issue in about an hour. Plumber was a very friendly guy that offered good advice to avoid this on the future.
Cons- price to unclog the pipes from my kitchen was upwards to $350. Definitely higher that averages I was seeing online ($150-200). But that wasn't my big issue. I could have swallowed that high price - it was the mess. I mean half assed on cleaning up - there was brackish pipe water splashed everywhere that wasn't touched and the areas he did clean was pretty lousy. Wed been chatting so I didn't look too closely until he left. I had to scrub because you know that black water is filled with crap and junk and stuff.
Had he cleaned 80% up this would have been a 3.5-4 review. I have to wash a curtain that got splashed a ton which will be a pain in the ass to take down.
Mr. Brad just showed up and unclogged what was looking to be a horrible situation & he cleaned up a really nasty mess I was preparing myself to deal with once he left and when I went downstairs it was already spotless... I can't recommend these guys enough!

Avoid this outfit. They charged us almost $400 for a simple kitchen faucet installation that took less than an hour (we had already purchased the faucet so this charge was only labor).

Our tub was clogged and unable to drain. We tried to DIY, but ended up needing someone to come out and inspect it. We called Mr. Rooter, and Jorden was quick to tell us Brad would be there within the hour. He arrived within 20 minutes and finished the job quickly! He gave us a lot of great info of how we can take better care and maintain our pipes. He used a great oil change analogy that really clicked with my boyfriend who works in the automotive industry.
From now on we will be maintaining our plumbing and calling Mr. Rooter with any emergencies we may have.

I had a great experience with them. My water hearted suddenly blew and I needed someone quickly, they were there within an hour and my tech was amazing. He went through several scenarios with me and answered all my questions. He had a great sense of urgency and was a problem solver when we realized the opening to the heater was smaller than the tank so we had to go through some drywall to get it out. I appreciated that he took care of it so quickly and well done!

I have a newfound appreciation for good plumbers. Visited my dad up in Milwaukie for the holiday and Saturday of Memorial Day weekend our major drain line from upstairs to downstairs was totally plugged so we couldn't use our sinks or showers at all without it all draining into our basement! Of course this all came to be at almost 7:30 pm!
First called a different company who said they had a 4 hour window and would get back to us. Desperate, we called Mr. Rooter who let us know that a technician would call us back. I left to go get something to eat and by the time I came back Mr. Rooter was at my house with my dad! He was courteous, efficient, and got the job done! Price was VERY reasonable for being later in the evening on a (holiday) weekend.
It's just after 9 pm now and he just left. Love plumbers and Mr. Rooter!
Ms. Rooter, Aisha, was very friendly, efficient, arrived on time and her time was very much appreciated.

I called Mr Rooter for a clogged drain while I was at swim team with my son. This was 3:30 PM. They said they could be there by 5, but we weren't able to be home in time so we postponed to another day.
We felt really appreciative how quickly they responded by phone and how great their communication was throughout the scheduling process.
Their technician came out and always kept his shoe covers on in our home and got the clog fixed in no time.
They might not be as cheap as other companies, but their customer service and work ethic are worth it.
Our tub started to drain super slow again about a month after Brad's visit. I called Mr. Rooter again because they had just been out and Rose called me within an hour (at 7am mind you!) and got me scheduled within my timeline. Brad came to the house within the appointment window, and quickly discovered a Matchbox car which had recently dislodged and was blocking my drain!!!! He fixed it up and didn't charge me a dime!!!
He also took the time to scope my sewer line and recommended that Brian come out for an assessment. I called and got that appointment scheduled within a week too!!

Jim and Caleb were fantastic. They were here within minutes. Hydroflushed lines and solved the problem. Very cooperative, respectful and professional. Toilet clogged, called Mr. Rooter the technician came unclogged the toilet. Tried to sell me a new toilet if the toilet keeps plugging up. Technician was telling me if anyone has had surgery or on new medications it will cause your toilet to clog, will I'm not buying it, I called the doctors office and they never heard of that. NEXT DAY the toilet backs up, within 24 hours called Mr. Rooter and they state because technician says if backs up agian replace toilet they want to charge me agian $216.81+ $ 1,500+ to replace toilet and some other additional parts to come out and snake agian!!! BEWARE OF HOW YOUR BILL IS WRITTEN UP!!! WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGIAN, DONT FALL FOR ADD ONS!!

Bradley Fischer came to our SE home within an hour of phoning. He worked hard to unplug the bathtub drain. Bradley was very informative and helpful with suggestions on how to prevent this problem in the future. He was very professional, polite, and cleaned up after the job. Jason was fantastic. He found himself in a bit of situation where our renter called for service wo our knowledge. Things could have gone sideways, yet Jason's professionalism and competence kept everything smooth and easy.
He discussed in detail the work that had been done as well as his recommendations for what might become a problem in short order. He walked me through what he thought was our best option to rectify the situation, the cost involved, the time it would take to complete the work, the warranty, as well as when he could get it done.
Given his calm, knowledgeable, and friendly demeanor, I had no problems trusting him and the quality of his work. Thank you for employing such an amazing technician. Being in CA and having a renter for the first time is stressful enough, and he was so good at taking that, what started out as a burden, away.

I've hired Mr. Rooter of Portland a few times. The first time was years ago when I lived in a manufactured home and regular plumbers would touch these homes and they were a blessing then. Just last week I need them again,this time for a standard home, and they came and replaced my garbage disposal for a reasonable cost. Then checked all bathrooms, laundry room, and kitchen plumbing for free. Answering all questions with respect (no talking down because I'm female and/or lack of experience with plumbing), and they gave me great info on how to keep my pipes cleaner too! I was so impressed with the customer serves both these men gave me, again on the care, service, respect they give the home owner. I won't use any one else! They were honest with me on pricing (as I looked around for cost of garbage disposals), they cleaned up after themselves leaving everything as I originally had it.
I'll say it again, I won't use anyone else! You can't beat the customer service; for example they called and let me know they were going to be slightly delayed and then again when they were about 15 minutes away. I feel and believe I got my money's worth! Need plumbing issues repaired/fixed, call Mr. Rooter!

They will really rip you off as they only quote on site. Was quoted $500 for a simple drain unclog! Told them to leave. Stay awau.
Worked with Aisha she was on time, and explained the issues and what she would do to resolve them. Showed me what had caused the plumbing problems and she created some bids to move forward. Very professional and informed. Appreciated attention to Covid guidelines , would recommend this company in future.
Our hot water heater needed to be replaced and a different company cancelled on us an hour into our scheduled window time- Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Portland was here within a few hours and got the job done! Great service by Bradley, he was quick, got the drain working like it should, didn't make a mess - just the service I expected. I'm totally happy with the job he did, and would have been a 5 star event if the price would have been lower - that being said, it's been quite a while since I've needed this done, so maybe the costs have gone up.
I would have Bradley back if I have another problem.
Had a terrible experience with this company. The tech that came out was belligerent, very unprofessional, they charge 2-3 times more than most companies, I see why they were able to come out same day, no one probably wants to pay their rates!!!! Never again, will wait for our reasonable, professional company next time!
Mr. Joel B and Mr. Kevin H were AMAZING!!!!! Our water heater went out over the weekend and had to be completely replaced. These men were very kind, warm, fast, & efficient on a Sunday at that! They did amazing work and even gifted us nail files (my mom was filing her nails when they came in & I was in desperate need of one lol). They truly go above and beyond for their customers. It felt like we had good friends over helping to fix our heater instead of a business. Thank you guys so much!!
I had a blocked toilet, which is problematic when you only have one bathroom. I called and despite COVID and wildfires and terrible air quality, George showed up within 90 minutes. He fixed the toilet very efficiently and made sure I understood precisely what caused the problem. Next time I have a plumbing catastrophe I'll be calling them.
When my water heater went out I figured I was out of luck with COVID and now smoke from fires. I was wrong! As usual Mr Rooter came through for us. Justin Mills came out day after we called, diagnosed the problem and installed a new heater same day! He was so knowledgable and and nice and respectful. He even helped me with a clogged faucet. We couldn't have been more pleased with Justin and Mr. Rooter. They have yet to let my family down down.
Amazing!!!! They really saved me ~ I had my toilet and my bathtub back up. They had someone out ASAP, Brad was so helpful with explaining everything and getting the job done. AND Brad noticed something off in my main line and told me if I didn't get it repaired then I would continue to have issues. They had their excavation manager, Brian, come out; again in a very timely manner and use his camera to determine there was actually a hole in my main line. Brian set me up with a plan to get it fixed along with the email of the video so I could see for myself the hole and where it was located. Excellent customer service All around from Heather and the other receptionist (sorry I can't remember her name) always prompt, professional and got me directed or had people call me back in a timely manner. Only thing I would say is their services are expensive but I feel like with plumbing you can't skimp you get what you pay for in a lot of cases and plumbing is not something you want to skip corners around. I feel like if I had just anyone come out I don't think they would have caught the hole in the pipe with a camera. Again AMAZING - PROFESSIONAL - PROMPT - GREAT COMMUNICATION - ON TIME - THORO. We called on a Friday to get a same day appointment after noticing a smell coming from our bathroom since suddenly. We were charged $200 for the plumber to show up (this is more than it costs to see a physician or dentist for an exam!) the plumber did nothing but look with a flashlight and run the water. He recommended some enzyme cleaner for $80 dollars that was supposed to fix our problem. After a confusing conversation about things that didn't apply to the problem - we got this cleaner and the plumber left. We used this cleaner 3 times and is had not fixed our problem. Sooooo... now what?
I asked the plumber what to do if this didn't work.... he didn't have an answer.

We had a return visit today by Kevin. He spent a lot of time trying to assess our problem that seems slightly improved but still intermittently present since our first visit. He did a thorough inspection, appeared interested in trying to help and was a good communicator. He cleaned out our drain of the sink and inspected the pipes in question with a camera. Although he did not find any new problems (thankfully), I feel like my money was better spent than our original visit and no longer feel taken advantage of. We have had a couple conversations with the office staff and everyone has been helpful.

A tenant of mine contacted this company for a clogged sink in the bathroom. The technician contacted me when he arrived at the rental house and then at the end of the job, which was helpful. It was simply a clog in the line, and it was easily remedied. The total for this job, much to my surprise, was $345! I was expecting $250, at the most. However, I couldn't say no to him fixing it because I didn't want my tenant to have to wait for another company to come out. So my rating is purely because of the high price compared to other companies I've used.

I initially met with Jason Belcher to diagnose a septic system issue. This can be extremely stressful, and of course timing is never good for a plumbing problem! Jason was professional and explained the problem and solution, and gave me a very reasonable bid.
Jason returned and spent longer than initially anticipated fixing the problem, making sure I was informed of what he was doing and minimizing inconveniences as much as possible. The clean up and follow up has also been exemplary.

Mr. Rooter services were so helpful for me this week! I was out of town and the operators kept me informed of my service time and what to expect. They offer free inspection of the issue and then immediately give you a quote. My service provider was Jeremy. He let me know when he was arriving, so I could help coordinate the visit, and called to communicate what he saw. Jeremy was very honest and reasonable in his assessment. He made a potentially frustrating situation feel manageable.

This evening (of course the night before the holiday) we had a clog at the sewer line that caused everything to backup into our bathtubs, etc. After, no exaggeration, calling 15 plumbers from this site that told me that they couldn't come today, I called Mr. Rooter. They told me that it would be no problem to get someone out & to top it off, they do NOT charge for the technician to come out, just for the work. From the moment Jeremy arrived, he was so professional & thorough while explaining everything. Even showing us with the camera where the clog was & explaining the process to my 12 yr old son who was very impressed. He was able to remove the clog quickly & was beyond pleasant the entire time. I would recommend him & Mr. Rooter to anyone with a plumbing need!!
2nd time I've had to use Mr Rooter ~ the first was for a main sewer line w/ roots and the for a plugged shower drainage pipe. In both cases I've had excellent service and the problem fixed. First time around it was Kevin ... second time around it was Christopher. Having to hire a plumber is certainly not fun ... however, if you do i highly recommend Mr Rooter!
Mr. Rooter always comes through for us. If you have an emergency they will always work to fit you in their schedule. They are true to their bids. Our favorite technician is Joel Boren. He always has a great and positive attitude. He goes above and the call of duty, cleans up after himself, and let's us know exactly what was done and why.
We had a major back up of kitchen sink and also upstairs shower was draining really slow. Dakota came out to work on our issues. The house is old and has older plumbing, and Dakota provided the best service and talked about the different issues and costs before starting. Best part was I called first thing when they opened and he was here an hour later, incredible customer service.
I have no idea what comparable pricing might be, but for the time he spent here, over three hours, he was worth every penny.
I highly recommend Mr. Rooter, and if you can get Dakota, you will know you are in good hands.

Kevin arrived on time. He believed our leak was actually a problem with the roof and not the plumbing. He said he wouldn't feel right charging us for work that probably wouldn't fix the leak. He suggested we call again if it is a plumbing leak. I appreciate his honesty.
Our irrigation system needed a back flow valve installed ASAP. I called Mr. Rooter on a Sunday and a real person answered the phone, not an answering machine. I was able to make an appointment for Mr. Joel to come out and see what we needed and where to place the valve.
One week later the valve is installed and working great!

OVER-CHARGES! Oh wow, do they over-charge.
They are quick and responsive. Joseph seemed perfectly nice when he arrived just 30 minutes after my Monday morning call. However, he quoted us $430.33 to clear the drain for our washing machine, or $314.45 just to cable it (an option he implied was much inferior). This is a service that will cost you $150-170 from lots of other local plumbers.
I mentioned this quote to a couple other plumbers I called (after sending Joseph away) and one of them sighed and said: sad thing is ... some people will actually pay that.
The first plumber from Mr.Rooter that came out was not able to fix the stoppage. The manager called me the next day to schedule a time from him to personally come out and take care of it, no additional charge from the first visit.
He was able to get out what I have paid 2 other plumbers before Mr. Rooter, unsuccessfully.

Was really easy to make an appointment, and I appreciate how soon they were available. They offered to come out the same day, which is a surprising treat around here. The office called to let me know Bradley was on his way, and he arrived shortly after. He was able to clear my drains but also restore them to full flow capacity. My sewer backed up. called mr rooter they had a van out in under an hour. Luckily the drain cleared before he got here. Bradley check out the drains made sure everything was good to go. He gave some great advice on how to prevent another occurance.

Let me explain why i gave this a 2 stars...I had an issue with my washer not draining properly and backing up. Jeremy the tech showed up very professional and diagnosed the problem right away. I had all faith that he knew what it took to fix the problem. After flushing the lines and clearing the problem he was on his way. I did a few loads of laundry and everything was going great! Then that night I went to get in the shower and my bathtub immediately was backing up. It was working fine that morning before he showed up to fix the other issue. So he fixed one problem and created another. I called the next morning to let Mr. Rooter know of the issue and they had no problem sending Jeremy back out to check on the new problem. Jeremy told me immediately that is just a coincidence and timing of the clog. That what he did the day before had nothing to do with it. But for 300 more dollars he can fix my tub issue. This is after it already cost me 519 dollars for my other issue. I let Jeremy know I would not be using his service. I would fix it on my own. I fixed the issue with a bottle of Draino for less then 15 dollars. Again no reflection on Jeremy but I suggest Jeremy you get a new job. Jeremy am sure your hands are tied when you came back out to fix the issue to charge me again. But Mr. Rooter you certainly missed a excellent opportunity for excellent Customer service. I would recommended Jeremy but not the company he works for. Then to boot I got a call that evening from Brooke who wanted to know if I still needed their service. Seriously! that call put me over the edge...Still looking for my money! Your company was recommended to me by my realtor friends. They will hear about his and I would not recommend this company. Sorry Jeremy...you were great! But your company should honestly take some of my money and invest in Customer service training. As I was typing this I got another message from Zoe this time saying Jeremy wrote up an estimate and did I still need his service......these guys are unbelievable

Along with much of the area, late December brought some flooding to our house due to heavy rains and high water table. Our driveway drain backed up and water was pouring in our crawlspace. Jeremy came out 630pm that night and gave us a quote to water jet the pipe. He was reasonable and honest, suggesting that he would have more luck and could do some more diagnostics if we waited until the next day with some light. We agreed and he returned the next day. Meanwhile, before he left he suggested that we run down to Home Depot to get a sump pump-- we never would have thought of that and his advice saved us a night of sleep! (we were turning on our trash pump every 10 minutes in the rain) The next day, he spent quite a while tracing our outdoor drain lines and water jetting them. In the end he concluded that they led to a drywell, which was likely backing up due to the high water table. While he didn't solve the problem that day, he diagnosed and traced our lines, along with providing us with basic instructions on how would could redo the lines ourselves. Jeremy's service and kindness was beyond appreciated, especially in a stressful time. We will recommend Jeremy and Mr. Rooter to everyone we know!

Serviceman, Nicholas Bobo, was reliable, efficient, knowledgeable, helpful, and honest. I am very satisfied with what he did and what he explained for me to expect from the next plumber for the follow-up work. He did very thing we needed in a reasonable amount of time. He also made the connection with the plumber who will follow up to alleviate any confusion or missed steps.
Mr. Rooter is my go to plumbing service provider. They are prompt, courteous, professional and proactive. My toilet backed up and flooded the basement. They came out the next day to get the toilet fixed and assess the issue. The plumber also inspected other items and recommended that we strap down the water heater according to code.

I was strung along for hours waiting for a plumber. I told them I had no problem waiting until the late evening because it was an emergency. I recieved a couple calls with updates and them explaining they were running late and it felt as if I was getting brushed off. Keep in mind my original call was placed at 5pm that day, not an irregular hour of the evening. I am a renter so they needed approval from my landlord which he gave to their office prior. Then at 11pm the technician called again saying he couldn't get ahold of my landlord so he couldn't come help me. I told him the landlord had already given consent and the necessary information but apparently that is not good enough for this company or simply they just didn't want to be out late. Now it's the middle of the night and I cannot get another company to come help me because my landlord is asleep. Had I known before the middle of the night there was a chance they couldn't come help me I could have contacted another company at a decent hour and recieved the help I so urgently needed. Now I'm forced to go to the bathroom outside in December because of this companies lack of communication and assistance. Don't waste your time and seek the help of a local plumber like I should have done.

The CSR took my info & called back to let me know the window (afternoon between 2 & 4) of time a tech would be avail. So I ran some errands and ended up getting called FAR earlier for availability. I immediately started home & rep'd a call from the tech that he was waiting for me. It was only a few more minutes before I was home but giving a LITTLE bigger window of immediate availability would be helpful to all parties. Once there, the technician worked quickly to figure out the issue, gave me a price & did the job. He was efficient in his work but WOW did the paperwork take FOREVER. I signed my name 5 or 6 times to I don't know what, (bc it was all on a tablet that I couldn't read bc of glare) just trying to expedite the process....20 minutes of paperwork is EXTREME (It took less time to sign mortgage documents on my first few homes!) & completely unnecessary. Put everything on one form & have the customer sign ONCE, please and thank you.

This is my 4th or 5th time using Mr. Rooter of Portland. Each time I received a very high level of service, quality, and value. However I was remiss in submitting reviews. Friday afternoon at 1:30pm I called to request service to fix a water leak that had appeared on the wall side of the kitchen hot water cutoff valve. At 2:40pm I was notified that Brian was on his way. He arrived at 3:20. By 4:15 everything was fixed, cleaned up, and ship-shape.
Brian provided an estimate to replace the offending cutoff valve, which I approved. He got right to work, and in the course of conversation we decided it was best to replace both 1970's era valves to avoid problems later. He did the work and honored his original estimate, basically charging me for one valve replacement instead of two.
This is consistent with Mr. Rooter's other visits to my home. React fast, send a great person who happens to be an excellent plumber, quote a reasonable price, deliver more parts and service than expected, charge me the original quoted price.
Over the last few years I've hired Mr. Rooter plumbers 4 or 5 times. Brian, Chris, and one other guy (sorry I forgot his name) all had the same helpful, professional, friendly attitude. All three got along well with my spazzy black lab. All three clearly explained the problems, possible solutions, and then delivered more service than expected. I will continue to hire Mr. Rooter for all my plumbing service needs.

This company is usually very busy, and it may take a few days for someone to get out to your house. However, once they arrive, they are always top notch. Today, Bradley came out to work on our broken garbage disposal, backed up kitchen sink, and mysteriously-filled-with-brown-water dishwasher. He was exactly on time, and very polite. As he inspected the kitchen stuff, he also gave me pointers on how I could be keeping my drains and pipes running more efficiently. Who knew I was supposed to be doing anything with that floor drain in the basement?! I felt like Bradley explained all of my options, wasn't trying to sell me anything I didn't need, and even tried his best to fix the garbage disposal so I wouldn't have to buy a new one. (He succeeded!) I really appreciated Bradley's calm, capable attitude and his work today.
Jason Belcher was great and came to my rescue within 1 hour of my call for help. He started with the ways to resolve the issue that were less expensive. My drain did require snaking, he told me what the next steps were, and I had no questions about what he was doing, and what to expect next. The charges stayed in line with his estimate. He cleaned up after the work was completed. Was very nice, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. He even had a treat for my Dog. He turned a bad situation, into a pleasant experience. Thank you so much Jason.
Mr. Rooter charged us total of $1,531 for replacing the water heater ($1,147) and the bathroom faucet cartridge ($384) which did not work after water heater installed. I told my coworkers about it, they said Mr. Rooter over charged.
The water heater installed by Mr. Rooter is an entry level one which has a label on it shows $417, the installation is $730.
Installing a water heater without testing and no follow ups is unprofessional, and they over charge.
Just wanted to let everyone know that Mr. Rooter is the best! They show up on time, if not early. And the service they give is awesome. This is the third time my landlord has used them and the service is just as good as the first time they came out. Shout out to Bradley today.....thanks for the great service!
I was happy with Justin, the plumber, but the cost was way to high for the time and work required. Rather than charging an hourly rate they have set job quotes. When he gave me the quote of $380 I expected it would take a couple hours and some materials. I showed him where the access hole from the past service was located and the job was done in less than an hour with no materials required. Regardless of the advance quote I feel I was overcharged for the job so it is unlikely I will call them again. Nor would I recommend them to my neighbors.

The toilet in my office had been running for several weeks and I called Mr. Rooter to see about having it fixed. The customer service staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating. They were happy to arrange a time for their technician to arrive before I had any clients in the clinic and he affected repairs that solved the problem without replacing the whole mechanism saving me over $100.

Over Chargers. Awful People.
The Plumber, Trevor, was absolutely awful. Very rude. Not helpful at all. Will never use this company again and will never recommend their services. He quoted us 445$ to unclog a kitchen sink. When asked what that would cover, he said that's how much it costs for a professional
He didn't even assess the issue.
If he was more personable and less rude and maybe explained what the procedure would be and break down the cost...then maybe it would have been a better experience.

Jason Belcher arrived right on schedule. Although it was late at night and the end of a long day, Jason provided excellent customer service, and even brought some humor to a stressful situation. He explained the problem, our options to address it, and possible future steps. The pricing was fair, and his work was top notch. I would definitely use Jason and this company again in the future.

When a toilet leaks it needs to be fixed and I typically call a small independent company rather than a franchise. After two calls to other companies (one of whom I have used before) with no response at all, I finally broke down and called Mr. Rooter (Not to be confused with the other rooter company) I expected a week out for an appointment. Three hours later Joel arrives with a smile on his face ready to take care of the porcelain god. Not only did he fix it, he explained how and why, assured me there was no permanent damage(my greatest fear) and guaranteed the work for a year! He emailed my receipt, gave me a refrigerator magnet, a new pen and a business card and was on his way! I asked several questions about the franchise which he was quite informed about and confirmed it was not the kind of repair I could have done myself. The price was very reasonable and I won't hesitate to call them again. Thank you!

Called and spoke with Heather, very friendly and efficient. Rose called back about 20 minutes later but I missed the call. When I called back, Heather told me that Bradley was on his way. Fast and efficient. Was called to let me know when they were on the way. Jeremy did a great job fixing our sink/drain and was never under foot or in our way. Will definitely use again.
I was told it would be 69$ for someone to come out and tell us what was wrong with our gas water heater and how much it would be to fix it. The dispatcher kept me well posted on when the plumber would arrive and I appreciated that. When the plumber arrived he asked me how old the heater was and I told him 8 or 9 years. He said they don't have parts for water heaters that old. He added that I might be able to find the parts online and repair it myself. He then quoted me a price for a new water heater and that was it. I never did find out what was wrong with my heater.
To be fair the next place I called also asked me how old my heater was and when I told them they declined to send someone out although they did quote me a price for a new one(about 200$ cheaper BTW).
So my suggestion to Mr. Rooter would be to follow the lead of the second place I called and find out the age of the heater before you send someone out.
We had a seriously backed up sink and Mr. Rooter was able to get to us the same day that we called. Jason was great. He ended up having to troubleshoot an old, wonky drain pipe before he could find and remove the blockage. He was pleasant and professional, and he kept us updated as he tracked down and eliminated the problem.
Easter weekend had a toilet back up due to main sewer line from house clogged with root ball. Jason Martin from Mr. Rooter came out within 45min of call. (Much quicker than other companies I called and waited half the day for.) Jason quickly resolved root ball and inspected line and home plumbing. Great customer service and knowledge! Highly recommended! Call them before anyone especially on weekends and holiday.

When I discovered my sewer line had backed up I was frantic and didn't know who to call. I looked up plumbing services locally and saw Mr Rooters ad, and gave them a call. The receptionist, Rose was very patient and understanding of my problem and said that she would contact a technician immediately. Within an hour or so a technician, Bradley, arrived at my house and we took a look at my flooded basement. Bradley was very knowledgeable and very understanding of my problem and promptly started to work at unplugging the drain. Success happened, Yahoo! I now have a flowing sewer line. it is still understood that there is more work to do with tree roots and a broken pipe but at least water is not flowing into my basement. Very happy camper now all to the patience and understanding in hard work of Bradley and Rose. Thank you so much for taking care of me!

Thieves! $425 do snake a drain, their cheapest quote, because that's what the book tells him to charge. His good book said that it would need a scope done too for an additional $75! Ha!

We are extremely grateful for the excellent service that we received from Dennis Kirby of Mr. Rooter Plumbing tonight! He arrived within an hour of our call as promised. There was no extra charge for being after regular business hours. He was extremely professional and considerate of our home. He quickly diagnosed the problem which turned out to not really be a problem. He left without charging us for the Service call. I was very worried that the off-hour service call alone would be expensive but there was no charge for that. I am also always afraid that a professional might take advantage and find a problem just to have a reason to charge us. This was not the case. I am really happy to know that we received good care from a professional that we can trust. I am definitely hanging onto Dennis's card just in case something comes up in the future.
We had a toilet/shower sewage geyser today that decimated our downstairs bath, hallway and laundry room. We tried several plumbers who said they could come out tomorrow, yet we had a real problem that needed real-time attention. Mr. Rooter Portland - Vancouver got Cory out here within an hour. He videoscoped the sewer line from house to septic and found and then cleared the blockage causing the problem. He wet vacuumed the area then referred us to a restoration/damage firm who was on the phone to us immediately and showed up within the hour. Although we're faced with a mini-Katrina to likely have to replace flooring, sheetrock, baseboards etc. we hope our insurance will help and that we end up avoiding black mold and other issues. Hats off to Cory and Mr. Rooter Portland/Vancouver!

The plumber performed his job well without any complaint. This star is only because I'm not allowed to give no star to this company's management.
However, BEWARE of their charges as they are very excessive and outrageous. They do not charge by the hour like most every other plumbing contractor but instead charge by the individual task performed. Ten minutes or less to unclog a drain costs the same as if it took two hours to complete. Two hours work was invoiced at nearly $650 or $325 per hour - great work if you can get it.
When I spoke to the senior manager and explained that I have repeated need for their service and was happy with their plumber, I requested assistance with this extreme billing and was completely shut down without any discussion regarding good customer service and customer retention. Even when I clearly informed him that I would pay but never use their service again, he still stood his ground and refused to adjust his invoice one penny by telling me that he already had done so (????). It makes me wonder if in his mind I got a terrific bargain?
Bottom line, do not bother to call Mr. Rooter.
Our kitchen drain was clogged. Cody from me rooter came and hydro jetted it out.
Works like a charm now.

Bradley and Brian were prompt, and worked hard to take care of a serious drainage problem. No one could have worked harder--great to do business with.
George came out to fix a clog in my tub that another plumber came out to fix the day before and was not able to fix. He was here for 20 mins and got it unclogged right away! I will always be calling them from now on.
Great experience. Called emergency after hours due to water leak into our 2nd floor living area. A tech arrived within an hour and helped this first time home owner locate the water shut off. Since that was all we required he didn't charge. Staff the following day called to see how things were doing and to let us know a plumber would contact us when they were available. They were nice enough to blow my phone up with numerous missed calls when the plumber was ready to make sure I didn't miss out on the opportunity. The plumber came out and explained charges, possible scenarios and was thorough. Hopefully I will never need their help again but won't hesitate to call them if needed.

Great service. James was professional and got the job done. Explained the issue (clogged washing machine drain). Kept the house clean all through the work.
Mr. Jason Martin was awesome! Other companies we contacted could not offer fast enough service to meet our need despite advertising that they provided emergency service. Jason got here quickly and was able to diagnose the problem. He returned as promised the next day to complete the work and cleaned up the mess, which was greatly appreciated! We highly recommend Jason and Mr. Rooter.
Easy to make an appointment but their pricing is sort of ridiculous. Had them out last week for a simple kitchen sink drain assembly replacement because our new garbage disposal didn't fit. They charged us $70 to come out and look under the sink and then let us know they charge by the task. We were quoted over $600 and they also tried to sell us a $100 advantage plan. We went with another company who completed the job in 30 minutes and charged us 1/3 of the cost.
Joel Bowen was the plumber dispatched to deal with my leaking garbage disposal. He was friendly and knowledgeable as we discussed the merits of replacement versus removal. Things I really appreciated were his efficiency, willingness to work around my schedule by coming on a Saturday and that when he finished he checked if I wanted anything else checked while he was here. Friendly, efficient, effective and caring are signs of quality service. Thank you Joel.

Excellent service! We could not be more pleased. Very prompt, very professional and did an excellent job!! They gave us several repair options and obviously had our best interests at heart. We had an urgent need and the person in the front office went above and beyond to fit us into the schedule. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat!
While the technician was polite and did their job the price was ridiculous. We had called three pulmbers for quotes. One company we received an over the phone quote. Your company needed to give a quote on scene. Once I received the quote it was three times the amount as the other company. If this had been during the evening on a holiday I could see the increased cost. Since I had already cancelled the other appointment I went with you because it needed to get fixed. I've had one other service call from you company about a year ago. Again, the technician was polite, diagnosed the problem and saved me some money based on their recommendation. If I the choice again I would have waited and gone with another company. I would not recommend Mr Rooter to friends and family because of the ridiculous cost. The technician wasn't even a journeymen level plumber. Also, with a cost like that I would hope for more then a one year warranty. Pathetic!

Called mid-morning on Sunday. The amazing agent answered right away .... took copious notes .... responded with a couple of reasonable options .... under promised and way over delivered. She called me back twice with a projected eta for the plumber and quoted reasonable pricing. Joel arrived exactly on time, began diagnosing the problems right away, fixed the items we asked about and gave excellent advice for replacements. I've used Mr. Rooter in the past and they always deliver. Excellent, courteous service and highly trained pros! Thank you for the nice job!
When you enjoy a visit from a plumber, that says something! Joel replaced a faucet and disposal today, and not only was the work done perfectly, he was a happy person to have around. We decided to get the higher quality disposal since I enjoy cooking, and feel it was a good investment that will last a lot longer. Mr. Rooter re-did all the plumbing under our 60 year old house a few years ago, and it too was done perfectly and affordably. We highly recommend the services they offer.

We called and had an appointment the next day!! We've had issues with the tub downstairs since we bought our home and have had many different companies come out on multiple occasions just to have the problem resurface months or unfortunately sometimes days after. Bret showed up at the beginning of our scheduled window which was great, listened to what the problem was and gave me my options. We went with the more expensive option since the other, which was to snake it, has already been tried and failed. Within the hour my line was cleared and my soaking tub was draining like the day it was installed (or so I assume :) ) The fact that Bret was able to come over the next day, had the knowledge to fix the issue and actually do so was a very refreshing experience. I'm not sure how many other people go through the struggle of having professionals come to their homes to fix an issue and not but still have to pay for it, but it's one of the most frustrating things I've had to deal with being a home owner. Thank you Bret Carpenter and Mr. Rooter for making this an easy and painless experience! I will definitely be calling you again for any plumbing needs in the future!

Your tech, Ryan actually showed up early, saying he could come back, but was right in the neighborhood. It worked out fine for me. He scoped our sewer line and found a break immediately. My worst fears were confirmed, but not surprising. Ryan then went to his van and had a very fair estimate worked out within 5 minutes. When I asked what I owed, he said it was no charge and told me to contact the office, should I decide to have Mr. Rooter do the work (no hard sell). The whole process took about 15 minutes. Quick, professional, friendly service, AND NO CHARGE? How does it get any better than that?

Owning a home seems to have those moments of when it rains it pours. We are so grateful when this happened we had Mr. Rooter and Joel Boren to rescue us. Earlier we reported on how we had 2 plumbing issues within weeks of each other. Mr. Rooter came through for us with those issues and left us feeling secure and well plumbed. But, like said earlier, it poured again. Our other ADA toilet AND the other tub faucet decided to break at the same time. Fortunately we were able to have Joel Boren come to our house once again and do his magic. He arrived feeling compassionate to our limited budget and with the knowledge of how much money we had already spent due to Murphy's Law. Joel was his usual professional and competent self. He immediately set out to repair the faucet then check the toilet. He gently and without any pressure explained why the toilet needed replacement. He patiently listened to the grumblings of a budget gone awry. Joel tried to cut every financial corner possible while remaining honest. He found us a toilet that was simply perfect AND he even found us a $20 off coupon that was totally unexpected. Every dollar counts at this point. I can't say enough good things about Joel and his excellence in knowledge, integrity, compassion, how amazingly clean he is and how concerned he is with your plumbing needs. Honestly, we do hope to never have to see Joel again in the near future. But if the house decides to throw us another Murphy's Law we have every confidence that Joel and Mr. Rooter will be there to help put back the pieces.

Very poor communication. Supposedly there is a set fee for a service but they did not convey this to us at any time. We paid for service but thought it was to high. So the next time we called Pro Drain, they came out on a weekend and did the same service for $200 less then Mr. Rooter.

The toilet was not flushing well. I snaked it . It was clear but still no clear flush. The one in the guest bathroom did flush well so it had to be an obstruction before the Y in the sewer line. They came out and snaked the line. He said he found not obstruction and perhaps it was the toilet itself and offered a new one installed. So what was a $250 bill turned to $900.00 in a few minutes. He put in the new toilet but when the plumber showed up to hook things up I heard him arguing with the technician about something not being needed. Brian ( the technician ) was supposed to get back to us to tell us what was wrong with the toilet. Absolutely no call back. The new commode works fine but we were victims of the old sales game: sell, add on, sell up. Don't be as gullible as me.
I wish I had read Dennis' review (the one prior to mine). Mr Rooter is outrageously priced. I called to have faucets installed for the kitchen sink and 2 bathroom vanities. They do not give ball-park estimates over the phone. So I went ahead and paid $70 to have them come provide a bid.
Their estimate was over $1500! When I questioned the plumber how long this job would take, he admitted it would be maybe 3 hours. I ended up getting the work done by American Unified Construction from Vancouver. They did it in 2.5 hrs for under $400. At Mr Rooter's rate, this would have been $600 per hour! Unbelievable.
Please look elsewhere. Mr Rooter's job is to root around in your pocket to bleed you dry.
After talking with the Operating Manager, he agreed to refund half of the money that I had to pay to get another company out here to fix the issue. While it was nice that he did give me a refund, I was still out $300.
long story short, I was quoted over 500 dollars to snake a clogged toilet, tech said he had to use a camera to thread the snake into the right pipe. I declined and with a 29.95 home depot snake I retrieved grandpas tiddy wittys (don't ask me how they got down there) from the toilet drain that's right three minutes, that's like 9000 dollars an hour, cmon now hiway ripoffs, avoid this company they will rip you off
On a night when not a single other plumber in the entire Portland Metro area was willing to come out and help us turn the water off to our condo (it had to be turned off to the entire building and the HOA lost the tool to turn it off), Mr. Rooter came through. Not only did their tech, Adam, drop everything and drive 40 minutes from Vancouver to get the water turned off after hours late on a Saturday night, but he helped re-install the part that needed replacing with no additional charge and showed us how to remove our drain cover. We will be calling Mr. Rooter first from now on.
Total ripoff company
I called for three slow drains and they talked me into a main line cleanout saying it would clear all of the problems. Nothing was solved. I still had three slow drains when they left. They claim total satisfaction guarantee, but do not reply to complaints.
Ryan came to our house to fix an issue with our plumbing backing up. He found a root blocking the drain. He tried to cut through it the first night (he came out at 7pm) and couldn't get the tool to go the correct direction. He apologized and promised to come back first thing in the morning, which he did. He was able to get going the correct direction and worked to cut through the root. His field supervisor Adam showed up a bit later to insure they were able to take care of the root. While he was at the house, he was using the house and noticed it was leaking at the faucet, which is tried many times to fix, he took the time to go the extra mile to fix the spraying issue! Ryan and Adam has the best customer service skills, something you don't see much anymore. The block is fixed and they've earned my return device any time I have a plumbing issue! Thank you Ryan and Adam for going that extra mile. I appreciate it very much.
