I called Meticulous Plumbing to fix a clogged claw foot shower/tub faucet after the city had done some water work in the neighborhood which caused problems for several fixtures in my home. The receptionist was very helpful and professional. The plumber arrived early and was friendly. He spent about 10 minutes taking the faucet apart to determine it was clogged internally (which I has told him before hand, but I understand his need to verify) and spent about 10 minutes trying to run wire through the fixture at which point he told me that a new faucet will be needed. He made a call and informed me it would be $550 dollars to replace. He said this price was so hefty because it was a custom fixture and would be hard to find. This seemed exceedingly expensive to me and I wanted to research other options so we went separate ways, but not before I was charged a $70 dispatch fee. I contacted a neighborhood handyman later that day who managed to completely unclog the fixture in only 15 minutes, his charge was $30. When I contacted Meticulous Plumbing I expected thoroughness and experience, but what I got was something else entirely. Out of curiosity I later visited local hardware stores and searched online retailers for an appropriate faucet replacement and found them easily available locally for $75 - $150 dollars, and even cheaper through major online retailers, If I could find such retail pricing so effortlessly why couldn't they have access to something similar or cheaper through a wholesaler? I am stunned regarding their pricing, which would have been over $600 dollars (including dispatch fee) when an amateur solved the problem in 15 minutes without any parts or special tools. I feel badly incriminating the plumber who was dispatched because he was friendly and courteous, but I strongly feel this job should have easily fallen within the expertise and experience of any professional plumber.

I wanted a recirculation fan installed in my house so the water in the bathrooms would get warm almost immediately without having to run the water for a few minutes. Meticulous came and gave me bid and could have done the job then but the pump needed an electrical outlet which I didn't have near the hot water tank.. So he had to come back about 10 days later. Leo did a good job installing and now I am enjoying warm water whenever I want it immediately.. So I feel the company was on time, efficient while they were here, and true to the estimation..

This team did a small job at my house a few years back, and my 85 year old mom needed a plumber. I didn't hesitate to call Meticulous. They, like all trades, are pretty booked out, but the scheduler was open and honest about their availability. In the next weeks, weather kept pushing the date back. Again, open and honest. Joey finally arrived and my Mom couldn't say enough good things about him. Kind, considerate, prompt, and respectful. Love these peeps!!

Leo--Thought you might be interested to know...Your employee, Travis, installed the toilet flange at a 90 degree angle in cement, which made it impossible for us to install a toilet. We had to have another plumber reinstall a new flange. Next, we were not able to get hot water into the new bathroom as the hot water line was improperly attached to another COLD water line. So, yet again, we had to pay the plumber to fix this properly. Just another example of Meticulous Plumbing's expertise.

Had a shower leak I couldnt find, so I called Meticulous and spoke with Linda on the phone, she is friendly, & helpful. She got us scheduled in as quickly as she could, they had a cancellation & she called and RE-scheduled even sooner (so much the better).
The young man that came out called 30 minutes prior to arrival, was on time, professional, friendly and went above & beyond for us. My kids now have their shower back.

I hope I never have a plumbing issue again, BUT if I do, I WILL be calling Meticulous plumbing.

I recently bought my first house and something came up in the inspection that seemed like it could be dangerous to not get repaired so I arranged to get an estimate from a couple plumbers in Portland. Some of the others didn't want to drive out to give an estimate, but Meticulous had no problem with it. I noticed a leak from the washer hookup also that I wanted to have them take a look at before I get a washer and dryer in place. Leo gave me a call letting me know when he was on his way and was right on time. He took a look and explained exactly what was going on with my water heater and why I shouldn't bother spending my money on it. It turned out to not be much of an issue at all, unlike what I was originally led to believe. He took into account the fact that I likely don't have a lot of money to throw around since I just bought a house and that was appreciated so much! He also explained the likely causes of the leak and that it also wasn't likely to be a problem once I get a washer hooked up. I was amazed at the courtesy and professionalism Leo displayed and would not hesitate to call Meticulous when I *do* have something they can work on. Thanks for saving me money!

Honest plumbers that stand by their work.

These guys came in an gave me a reasonable bid to rough-in some plumbing for a sink in a finished basement. They had to route the drain line behind our hot water heater and to do that they had to pull the heater away from the wall a few inches. Everything was roughed-in and routed nicely, except.... the hot water heater (which is gas) wouldn't relight. Both the plumber and I tried it a bunch of times, no go.

Finally the plumber says, I'm not a hot water heater repairman and there's nothing I can do beyond this. Here's a number of a hot water heater specialist you should call. Is this just an unlucky coincidence I asked, or is this somehow related to the work just performed? He thought it was an unlucky coincidence but he said if the hot water heater repairman comes out and thinks it's related to the work they just did then I should let them know.

Well that's exactly what happened. The repairman comes out sees that because the heater was pulled out that the exhaust from the heater is being sucked right back into the combustion chamber (it's a direct vent heater) which is preventing the heater from running. It's $200 to diagnose and fix that.

I'm completely convinced that when I take this issue back to Meticulous Plumbing that it's going to be a hassle, they'll give me grief and a bunch of excuses or only ofter to pay a portion of the bill if anything and it's just going to be uncomfortable. But NO, they reviewed what I told them and a couple days later sent me a revised bill with the entire $200 deducted from their bill. They even sent a card thanking me for the business.

Sometimes things don't go right, but they stood by their work and owned their mistake. This is exactly what good customer service is about.

I was having trouble with my hot water heater setup from a previous plumbers work. Leo came out for the initial consultation. He diagnosed the problems with the setup pretty quick and easy. Most of what is needed involved other people (electricians, etc) and did not need anything from him. He did not try to sell me anything I didn't need and basically gave me free advice. Great service and I know who I will call when I do finally need to upgrade the hot water heater.

The neighborhood FaceBook list mentioned this company a lot, so I've called them, and couldn't be happier. A cancellation meant that their guy Dave came the day I asked (not in two weeks for an appointment--they are in hit demand!), fixed a clogged toilet quickly, gave us great advice about how NOT to have to call them back, and charged a reasonable $159.

These guys know how to get a loyal customer following. I had them out to fix a problem with my kitchen faucet. They did. Then I had another problem with the same faucet that I assumed was a result of the first visit. So Meticulous sent another technician out. He quickly diagnosed the problem. Turns out it wasn't related to the first call, but he fixed the problem anyway at no charge! Very much appreciated.

We have used Meticulous Plumbing for several years, and they have always done a reasonable job with fair (although a little on the high side) pricing. However, I just had them in to fix a little leak in an old toilet, and after this experience, I will never use them again, and I would caution anybody against hiring them. They use a billing system that I believe is unethical. I was charged $664 for three hours' work. The plumber replaced one part, a 2 spud. I asked for the price of the part, but the plumber on site could not provide it, as he did not have that information. When I communicated later with the owner, he told me that he, too, was unable to give me a price for the part. An online search reveals that the price of the part varies from $7.79 to $14.17. So essentially this company charges $200 an hour for labor. Shame on me for not refusing to have the work done when the guy told me the price beforehand. I have learned my lesson, and hope that others can benefit from my mistake. Don't use Meticulous Plumbing.

From the first phone call to the completion of our plumbing problem, every interaction we had was so warm and professional. They were able to address our problem earlier than our scheduled appointment. The technician was knowledgeable and polite. We were able to get on a waitlist and again they were also able to fix our plumbing before the scheduled appointment. They sent pictures and information on the technicians who would be working on our home. I will absolutely be using them again and I appreciate how quick and professional Joe and Vu were to work with.

Meticulous Plumbing was just as their named, meticulous. The plumber who came, Seth, did a great job explaining what needed to be done to repair our shower drain, prepared a bid, and set to work. He had everything he needed in his truck. The repair was done quickly and cleanly, no mess, no fuss. Our shower drain had been a cobbled together solution from 25 years ago, complete with hose clamps and a rubber sleeve. Now the drain is completely modernized and has a 2-year warranty. I sincerely doubt that warranty will get any use.

I have nothing but the best things to say about Meticulous. I had called 6 different plumbers to get estimates and only half returned my call, the other half came out to give me an estimate but only Meticulous did the full follow up. They have been professional and courteous from start to finish and they did an excellent job with replumbing our 100+ year old duplex. I would absolutely use them again and will refer them to anyone who inquires about plumbing needs.

Best plumbing experience ever - wish other contractors had the mission and commitment I found with Meticulous Plumbing. I am new to renovation and was already juggling contractors for electric, mechanical, painting and more. With 3 other plumbing bids, Meticulous Plumbing stood out by asking good questions (why was I doing this? what were my expectations?), clearly outlining what the outcome would be, and a sense of serious commitment to customer service. The bid they presented was on par with others - not as much as some, less than others. What I loved was the results: courtesy at every turn in keeping me informed of progress and coordinating well with other trades, going the extra mile when I needed a toilet pulled and replaced at the last minute so we could get dry wall repaired, and always treating me with friendly courtesy. And they were always on time, available and the permit and inspection were completed quickly and smoothly.

Pros: nice people, easy to reschedule, and you get a call ahead of the technician arriving.

Cons: It is pricey. A little over $200 just for clearing with a cable. And that is with a $50 coupon. Also, although the team is nice it was hard to get an urgent question answered. I left a voicemail with the tech, didn't hear back so left a voicemail the next day with the general office, and only received a call back too late. I had to go through a lot of trouble with another company (they were great) to understand my situation and get everything cleared.

Meticulous Plumbing is the only company I'll consider for plumbing work, based on the excellent experience I had with them. A year or two ago I needed to replace a toilet, and it was a difficult swap due to the old plumbing in my house. I called RotoRooter to get it assessed and they quoted me a price of around $1200. I then randomly called Meticulous Plumbing. I'm sure glad I did! Leo was able to quickly and simply fix the issue that was making my toilet swap impossible. I don't remember the exact price for the repair, but I believe it was around $150. He also answered my questions about my kitchen faucet, telling me what kind of replacement to get and where to get it. He even showed me how to replace it myself! I wish all businesses operated like this. I hope to never need a plumber in the future, but if I do I'll be calling Meticulous Plumbing.

Meticulous Plumbing saved the day. I was blown away by the company's responsiveness and exceptional customer service. When you have a main line water breech and you have no water: Its never good. Seth and Alan showed up precisely on time, diagnosed the problem quickly, were very professional....and even repaired the pipe the same day. I was facing a 20 day work trip and was scared it wasn't going to be repaired in time...but Meticulous made it happen. I'm so thankful for their work! Have used them twice now. (Josh and Seth, respectively) Both experiences were fantastic. The communication from the office is fast, comprehensive and convenient. They make it easy to schedule and confirm. I love that they send you a profile of who is coming out. Seems to be a well oiled machine with great staff.

Both times the work the guys did was thorough and fast! Very accurate estimates, the work was completed exactly as promised. Snaked my tub drain, installed an exterior hose/spigot, installed a vanity sink and tub fixtures. Seth and his guy (apprentice? Journeyman?) were perfectly on time and super friendly. We love someone who is kind to our pets! Josh was also spot on with timing, was friendly, and he did such a good job with the bathroom. I do not have a great frame of reference for cost, so they could be pricey or affordable for all I know, but I would pay them whatever just because I feel like I can trust them and they always come out so quickly when we need. I have always felt like I got great service and quality work for the price.

I would absolutely recommend this company. Will continue to use them for any plumbing needs.

Meticulous is simply the best - and friendliest - plumbing service I have ever encountered. We found them on Angie's List, and HIGHLY recommend that you become an Angie's List member if you use them because they do not charge the usual dispatch fee for Angie's members - they are mostly Angie's referrals, and so this offsets their need to advertise.

But to their service, they are very creative in looking over your problem/issue, and suggesting a range of ways to solve it, including pointing out all the ways you can resolve it yourself, or with lower cost. In the three times they've been to our house since we moved in, two of those visits turned out to be simply advisory visits (first and last), while the one in between was an innovative approach to a typically expensive problem, and we believe we saved hundreds of dollars with that perfectly good approach.

The style is consultative, but quintessentially Portland folksy at the same time. They seem to do whatever's needed to help out, so if you can anticipate a need, and not be rushed into an emergency visit, that's definitely the way to go.

I had a leak in the water main under my front sidewalk. Tried to find a plumber after hours, one called me back. He said he couldn't do the work himself but told me what to expect in terms of work and cost. Next day I called Meticulous.Everyone who came out to the house was polite and helpful. The folks in the office stayed in touch so I would know when the locators and the city inspector would be there, when the hole would be closed up, etc. Could have been an awful experience, instead with this company doing the work, I felt reassured that the work would be high quality.

Everything they told me and everything they did was exactly what the independent adviser told me so I had a high level of trust in both their work and that the cost was fair.

We've been steady customers of Meticulous Plumbing for the past five and a half years and over that time have been really happy with their service. When our daughter's house needed a new sink hooked up and a leaky shower repaired we called on Meticulous and they sent out Erin. She handled the jobs with ease.

Recently both Erin and Daniel have done work for us and both are first rate. They're courteous, professional, prompt, and honest.

Meticulous stands by their work. They're the best we've found. A no-doubt-about-it five stars.

Meticulous plumbing did a great job on our small leaky faucet need. The plumber was prompt, friendly and finished the work quickly. The only thing I was a little confused about, was he mentioned that the washer on the other side of the faucet (he replaced the one on the hot and was referring to the cold), would wear out soon too, so we may just want to get a new faucet at that point. I guess I would have wished he would just replace both while he was there. Honestly though, it was as much my husband's fault for not just asking him to do this :). I will also say we called them with an emergency another time and while they couldn't get us in, they provided us with other references of places to try. They also put us in for the next day in case we didn't find someone to fix it we would at least have that back-up. I really appreciated that.

I had a drain backup into my laundry room on New Years Day...Yuk! Happy New Year, eh. I cleaned everything up myself with the shop vac that day and called Meticulous Plumbing early the next morning - they were great on the phone, even at 7:30 AM (I had expected to leave a message). Short story is they got to my house about 3 PM, a little earlier than promised, and snaked out the drain line which was quite a chore as it was clogged pretty good. Took about an hour. Tech was good, cleaned up after himself and made sure I was a happy customer. The bill was what I expected. I will surely call them again if I need a plumber - hopefully not any time soon! Thanks Meticulous Plumbing, you guys did a good job in my opinion.

Plumbing update. We had weird banging noises when we flushed one of our toilets, and there was a gurgling noise in an unused bathtub. Also, there were constant clogs in a sink and the bathtub that we do use.

Leo diagnosed the banging and gurgling. Both (hopefully) relate to the fact that the have a shower and bathtub currently aren't being used. He told us what to do to keep them in tip-top order until we are using them again.

Leo then retrofitted the sink so that anyone--even plumbing-issue-averse me--can easily unglog the drain, and cleared the bathtub drain in moments using an electric plumbing snake.

As always, he solved the problems as well as providing lots of useful information and do-it-yourself solutions. Gotta love it!

We chose Meticulous for a big job in the past and was satisfied with the work and price. When I talked with office to have a new toilet and shutoff installed, she didn't give a price (her bad) and I didn't ask (My bad).

Am I out of date? Because I was under the impression this would be around $360. The plumber arrived and wrote out an invoice that was over $740. Shocked at the price, I declined. Then, I was charged $69 for a service call. This is not good a business practice and I won't be using them anymore.

For big jobs, Meticulous might be worth the call.
For small jobs, they are extremely expensive and will charge you for saying so.

Horrible business practices. Set up an appointment with me several days out, and was told a plumber would be at my home between 3 and 5pm. I leave work early to be home to meet the plumber at 3, but he never shows up. I sit around waiting for 2 hours. At about 5:15 the plumber calls me and explains that he took another job, starting at 3pm. Do you still want me to come over? If I leave now, I could be there in 30 minutes, he tells me. I ask why didn't you at least call me when you decided to take the job? The plumber gets very defensive and tells me it was IMPOSSIBLE to call because he was in a crawl space. Very unprofessional, do not waste your time with these guys.

Meticulous plumbing has done great work for us. After receiving the quote, which I had no idea to know whether it was reasonable in terms of cost and parts, I decided to ask my co-worker their opinion as her husband was a contractor.

The feedback was that while it was a touch high, the quote and all of the parts they listed were of high quality. Overall, a very respectable quote is what my co-workers husband said.

The guys that came in worked hard and were professional. We had one issue but they were quick to come out and remedy. The ladies in the office were easy to work with and were accommodating in adjusting the work schedule to fit our remodeling timeline.

I will be calling them next time I need to enlist plumbing services.

Had a great experience with Meticulous Plumbing last week. My inline shower faucet broke and I could not get the water to turn up. I called and they came out within two hours (thank goodness someone had a cancellation) and my repair guy had it fixed within the hour. Super courteous, professional and he told me exactly what he was going to do and how much it was going to cost up front. Great dealing with a company that values integrity.

I seriously don't know why it was so hard for me to find a plumber to come to my house, but before I was referred to Meticulous (by a great team that just had a busy schedule), I could not find anyone to help me! Got the details of Meticulous, sent an email, and was contacted right away! Prompt scheduling with clear follow through via email to confirm the appointment.

On the day of, Travis called before he came, arrived on time, explained my options (moved a sink drain/disposal from center to right side of sink - there are a few ways to do it), and got to work! Price was very reasonable -- in fact, just a bit under what I was already expecting.

Travis was also super understanding of the fact that my dogs are in training and respected that they basically have to be ignored right now. He also did not seem to mind that my old cat felt the need to inspect his work as he worked. Super attitude all around.

Thank you, Meticulous! I cannot say how happy I am to finally have a functional kitchen!

Seth came out to snake our toilet that had clogged up. Their voice mail message warns that they are very booked with appointments. However, I left a message on Friday night and Seth came out on Monday morning. It was quick. He is very professional and he's pleasant to deal with. He did a good job and everything is fine now. He also adjusted the handle/chain/float so that it works better. It cost $400 but my experience with other plumbers is that this price is pretty normal.

A really bad experience. I needed a dishwasher replaced in my 1946 house and provided one that would fit in my smaller sized (22) cabinets. I was charged $500+ to have the unit installed by Meticulous, which involved turning the water off at the meter on the street. The plumber left the dishwasher only partly installed because the electrical line from my house was too short to allow it to be pushed completely into place (it stuck out about 3 from the cabinet), and told me to call an electrician to have a longer electrical line installed so the installation could be completed.

When I noticed the kitchen floor around the dishwasher beginning to swell and bulge after a few days, I called Meticulous to come back and correct the problem. A different person came out, told me the install had been done incorrectly by the first person, and removed the dishwasher. It was discovered that the subfloor was soaked, with water getting into the crawlspace. The second person advised me to point a fan at it for a couple of days and asked me to sign an invoice that released the company of liability. Their claim is that since the connection hardware had been supplied by the manufacturer that they weren't responsible for the damage caused by the faulty installation. I refused to sign and instead asked that they refund the $522 they charged to damage my house and leave me without a working dishwasher. Leo the owner told me he'd have to review the issue to be fair and would get back to me in a couple of days. He refused to give me a direct number so that I could follow up.

To recap, Meticulous charged me $522 to incorrectly install a dishwasher which caused significant damage to my kitchen and have refused to take responsibility for it. My kitchen floor, subfloor and the dishwasher enclosure are now moldy and deformed, requiring my kitchen be completely torn out.

I will never do business with this company again and I suggest that others do the same and avoid Meticulous Plumbing.

You know something's terrible wrong when a City of Portland Water Bureau service truck parks at your curbside. A massive leak in the pipe connecting my mid-century house to the meter, was gushing so rapidly it alerted the Bureau. (Expected usage of six units/two-three months, was six units/MINUTE.) I grabbed my mini, scanned Yelp reviews, and called M.P. When I blurted out my emergency, I was put on a brief hold and Leo arrived so quickly, I was still on the phone with M.P. when he drove up. He greeted me warmly as he raced to shut off the water and when Roger arrived a few minutes later, they bypassed the offending pipe to supply water to the house. They were back the next day to complete the repair. As I am Mega-Meticulous myself, I shopped price for that repair, the anticipated replacement of my failing hot water heater, and diagnosing a drippity-drip sound in the Guest Bath shower. Truthfully, I would have hired M.P. even if they hadn't been a smidgen less expensive than competitors: They dropped everything to save me $$$, were polite and friendly and Funny, and accomplished each of the tasks promptly and to my complete satisfaction. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THEM (although it looks as if I already have!).

TL;DR The plumber provided good service, but their flat-rate cost is INSANELY expensive.

In June, the handles in my bath started slipping. I replaced the handles, but the problem recurred - I figured the cartridges (the piece that you attach the handle to) were stripped. I called Meticulous Plumbing, thinking that they would replace the cartridges, and that it'd probably be a couple hundred bucks. He came and wanted to replace everything for $558.00, but when he arrived, we realized that I just had the wrong handles, so he replaced them with the proper Price Pfister handles. He charged me $177.00 just to remove three screws, remove three handles, and then put his three handles on - less than 5 minutes of actual work!

In November, the bath started leaking. When looking for a plumber, the name Meticulous Plumbing rang a bell, so we called them again (we had forgotten how expensive they were). He came out again and ended up replacing the handles, cartridges, and seats using this $40 kit (homedepot.com/p/Partsmas…). It took about an hour and a half. He was very friendly - great service. When he gave me the bill, it was for $558.00! I had forgotten that they were a flat-rate company, and apparently they were charging me for the quote that they originally showed me back in June.

So, I've spent a total of $735.00 - SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE! - dollars to fix some loose handles and a leak - a task which took a total of about an hour and half to perform, and required $40 worth of parts. I googled it - an expensive plumber can charge as much as $150/hour - Meticulous Plumbing costs like $250/hour (closer to $350/hour if you combine both visits)!

I needed to address an issue with our existing toilets not working very well and accumulating material in the tank and found Meticulous Plumbing as an A+ rated accredited business on the Better Business Bureau site. Seth arrived and we discussed options and my interest in Toto brand toilets and ultimately arranged to just replace two toilets and scheduled the work. I have to admit I was apprehensive about replacing the toilets and as it turned out I was extremely satisfied with how quickly and professionally Seth completed the work and the new toilets. Even with a different footprint from the previous toilet that did show some light imprints was cleaned quite nicely. I would plan to use Meticulous Plumbing again.

We had a clogged drain from our kitchen sink and dishwasher, causing a backup in the basement sewer line. They came promptly as scheduled, calling us to assure they were on time and on the way. The plumber successfully diagnosed and fixed the problem, in a minimum of time and very neatly too. He also found another potential problem and fixed that before we even knew about it! He made sure to clean up before he left. We've used their services twice in the 2 years we've been in this house, and will use them for any future problems with plumbing.

I can't say enough good things about the exceptional service Josh and his colleague provided on their visit to my home. There were two faucets in bathrooms to replace, a rocking toilet they steadied, and moved an outdoor faucet over a couple of feet from it's old location. A fixed price was quoted for these tasks that was fair and within the range I expected after they covered the options available. Josh and his colleague started their work promptly, worked steadily, explained what they were doing clearly and why, and cleaned work areas well after completing the work. I really appreciate the willingness of the two men to mask up while in the house, and their consideration for the one cat who eluded capture to put in a room away from the activity, taking care to close the door to the room she was in while working in the area. The work was easy to schedule and the office staff make sure I knew who was arriving and when. Josh and his colleague were friendly, willing to explain their work, showed up with the right equipment and tools to do the work, walked through all that had been done afterwards to make sure I was satisfied, and explained clearly what I needed to do afterwards. The entire process from beginning to end was great. I look for companies with Angi's List Super Service awards when deciding which companies to contact, and Meticulous Plumbing's service didn't disappoint. I will definitely use them again if I have any plumbing needs.

Just had some work done by Plumber, Roger, and had a very good experience that I thought I should share. Roger was very friendly, efficient, and thorough in getting the job done. He took the time to explain what needed to be done, the options, and to show us what he had done once completed. 'Meticulous' is not an easy moniker to live up to, but Roger embodied that exactly.

I saw this company recommended on our Nextdoor site so I contacted Meticulous Plumbing to replace a toilet. I sent a contact via their website late one evening and got an email early the next morning. I told them that my mom was coming home from rehab any time and I needed the ttaller toilet. They scheduled to install it the next day. Mike the plumber came out early in the morning and brought the toilet, installed it, took the other toilet away and checked an issue with our shower while he was here at no charge. We will be using them in the future for any issues we have in that area. I'm so impressed with the response and highly recommend this company.

Many plumbers have come out to our 1911 house wishing they hadn't taken the call... inside the walls they find a mix of pipes, repairs and additions... 1911? 1920? 1970? 1995? yup, it's all in there! Many plumbers are simply overwhelmed. A friend recommended Meticulous, so we gave them a call. Leo came out to give an estimate on installing a shower into the claw foot tub in our upstairs bath. He was prompt, good humored, and not at all intimidated by the vintage tub, non standard clearances, or awkward positioning. He immediately instilled confidence, started troubleshooting potential issues, and gave us a very fair estimate. He managed to fit us into his tight schedule quickly, showed up on time,and smoothly completed the work. He even tweaked a dripping faucet in another room free of charge

As I was walking down the driveway with him after a job well done, he glanced back at the house and asked how long we had lived in it. When I told him 16years, he asked if it used to be painted dark orange, and if we had had a lot of other plumbing work done at that time, to which I answered yes. Turns out that Leo had plumbed that same bathroom for us back when he was an apprentice with a larger company, and he still remembered the contortions required to get to that tub outlet!

So, I guess I can say that Leo has been my plumber for over 16 years! I will certainly be calling him whenever I have another plumbing project.

Meticulous Plumbing fixed our water service. We called many plumbers but they were the first to offer a temp service, which allowed us to avoid the leaky pipe but still get water to our house. Dave did a great job communicating each step of the process and fixing our problem. I thought we also had a leak inside the house, because I could hear water in the pipes inside even though nothing was using water. He suggested that we wait until the temp service was in place before spending time (and money) looking for the other leak. I was skeptical but he was right. It must have been the sound of water leaking outside the house that was causing the sound inside. I'm happy to find Meticulous Plumbing. We will call them first whenever we have plumbing issues.

Rocky came to my house when another service provider tipped me off to a slow leak in my crawl space. I cannot say enough nice things about him as well as the phone support (sorry. . . . can't recall her name. . . ). Daniel just left my home a few moments ago and I'm feeling very good about my experience with Meticulous Plumbing. I don't read long reviews nor to I write them, so here are the highlights:

* Office replies quickly to both email and phone.
* Daniel called 20 mins prior to arrival and when he arrived.
* Immediately used boot covers upon entering unit.
* Quickly identified issue, provided solutions. (best case, worst case.)
* Upfront about needing to charge for full kit, but not using it all.
* Fixed worn out diverter stem quickly (1 hour or so.)
* Daniel was friendly and professional from start to finish.
* Arrived in large grip truck. Meaning anything they might need is on site.
* Rates may be slightly higher than others, but worth it do to efficiently and overall experience.

I will use them again and recommend them to others. I try not to overuse 5 star rankings, as every good experience is not a 5 star experience. Meticulous Plumbing gets 5.

I've used Meticulous for two (very different!) projects now, and their work is always impeccable. In Spring Erin helped us get water to our fridge, and this week Joe and Vu ran a new gas line for a new stove. Absolutely loved the care they took with their work. The permitting process was painless as well (something I very much appreciate, since Portland is not known for making that easy). I needed to figure out the best way to get hot water up to my third floor from the basement and asked Leo to come out to advice me and give me an estimate. He looked everything over carefully and given our budget he suggested a way to solve the problem that we could do ourselves at a fraction of the cost of hiring him to do any work. Not only that, but he looked over our whole plumbing situation and future projects we are interested in doing and told me the best way to proceed and the approximate costs to do those things when we're ready to proceed. There just aren't many professionals out there who will give you the time of day unless they're on the clock, and Leo spent quite a bit of time doing that, even responding to numerous questions over e-mail after that. So in the end I'm able to tackle this immediate project myself without spending a penny on a plumber because of his free advice. This is the mark of a man and a company that's committed to building a solid long-term relationship with a customer. Erin is great. She saved us $1400 by double checking the incoming water pressure from the street and realizing that a new pressure valve was unlikely to improve our rather low water pressure because the entire neighborhood had pressure on the low end of normal. A less honest plumber would've I installed it (as we'd requested based on a home inspection) without checking if it was really needed or useful.

We are very tardy with this review and I apologize for that! My wife and I contracted with Meticulous earlier this year for a pretty large job which included replacing all galvanized plumbing with PEX lines, replacing the street to house line with PEX, moving a hot water heater from the basement to the garage and installing a recirculation pump, installing plumbing for a newly remodeled shower and bathroom, relocating drain lines, and replacing some outside hose bibs. I could not say enough great things about the work that they did. They were on time, prepared, thorough, professional, and operated under the highest level of integrity which is something their owner Leo Borton strives for. Our job was managed by Joe McPhee who is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He was extremely professional and would explain everything he was doing. We ran into several obstacles due to the age of the house and how it was built and Joe was helpful in navigating through all of them to our satisfaction. Even Leo came out to the job site several times to assist with the challenges and make everything perfect.

My father was a plumber and I have some knowledge about the business and have done a good amount of basic plumbing myself. I am extremely picky with anyone doing any work on my house! I have to say I was impressed with Meticulous and the quality of the materials and supplies they use. They are not about cutting corners to get on to the next job. We would highly recommend Meticulous to work on all your plumbing needs!

Also, kudos to the office staff for a great job too. They would always contact us if their workers were running late or had a conflict that needed to be addressed. Thank you!

Had a GREAT experience with Meticulous Plumbing!! They were available to operate on my short timeline. Daniel came out and did my estimate and ended up doing the job. It took about 6 or 7 working days to complete a repipe of my home in addition to setting up laundry hook ups in a different part of the house. Daniel came by our house to fix a broken pipe and and help with a few other miscellaneous issues with some valves and he was amazing. He explained everything in great detail, provided some wonderful service and the work looks great! Doing a bath remodel, I needed the toilet supply line moved four inches. It took the tech less than an hour. He knew what he was doing, was courteous and left the bath cleaner than when he started. My problem was the nearly $600 invoice. Split roughly 50/50 between labor and parts. I expected $200-300 for labor. What I didn't expect was the flat fee for parts: a valve, two plastic connectors, and 12 inches of copper tubing, parts I could have picked up at Home Depot for $30. A 1000% markup seems excessive. Lesson learned. Next time I'll get a quote before work starts and suggest you do the same.

Okay, I have to say - Meticulous Plumbing is HORRIBLE. I am so upset. They sent out a plumber (Daniel) to assess the minor issues we were having. He could not fix anything (even just replacing a gasket or anything minor), quoted us several hundreds of dollars for super invasive work for fix a bathtub drain that was not holding water and a sink plug that was broken). We got someone else to come out, fix all in an afternoon with simply replacing some worn out parts. Then the owner of Meticulous (Leo) was very rude and argumentative with me when I call to complain. The plumber that came out was either incompetent or outright lying to us and the owner was rude and defensive. I would NEVER recommend them. I feel like I need to report them to BBB or somewhere like that because if we had just taken them at their word we might had paid thousands of dollars and have walls and ceiling cut into simply because they were unwilling to tell us that these were simple fixes that a handyman could do. When I asked Leo why we were not told that at the dispatch (which we paid for - I assume part of what we were paying for was to get the assessment!) he said that no plumber would ever tell someone to get a handyman. On the other hand, he also told me that plumbers would not do simple fixes like replacing seals etc! I would never recommend this company to anyone.

This is the second time I've worked with Meticulous Plumbing in 11 years. Years ago, Leo assessed an awkward plumbing issue for me and came up with the most reasonable option (both price and timing) that didn't include a jackhammer in 1/3 of my house. This month's inquiry was a more benign water spigot replacement/repair. They had all of my info in the system, which made scheduling very easy. Scheduling was just 2 weeks from my call, partly due to my own schedule, which given the current trades scheduling seemed like lightening speed! I also know that if a time opened up sooner, they would be in touch.

Today, appointment day, they called to confirm if arriving early would be okay. Their technology of sending a bio of the technician (so I know who I'm lettting in) and. the truck tracking helped me coordinate with work.

Josh arrived right on time and was super friendly/knowledgeable. He looked at all my plumbing questions and talked candidly about costs and expectations. Josh was UP FRONT about any possible issues or overages so I could make an informed decision. He was able to set my expectations for this project and entertained my other questions which, as an over-planner, I can now plan accordingly in the coming years for some of the major ticket items.

We stuck with the original project for today AND he was able to do the work all in the same day (PS, it was nearly 100 today and he willingly went into my crawlspace -- champ!). Josh didn't need much from me so I was able to continue my work. When the work was done, he gave me a general report of the status of my crawlspace (no concerns, yay!). When everything was said and done, I received a prompt email summary WITH photos and the invoice.

There are times you shop around, and there are times you rely on a trusted relationship. I've recommended Meticulous Plumbing several times over the years and will continue to do so.

Because the work was minor (replace kitchen faucet), they advised there was a possibility of pulling that availability in. They were able to come out 2 days after initial contact! After being referred to these guys by another plumber, I wasn't sure what to expect, but my expectations were a little high. Even with that they exceeded my expectations: They were excellent about communicating arrival time and even showed up a bit early. They did everything I asked, and while I wasn't present to give direction on things I didn't specify, they put in the extra effort to do the job right (or at least, the way I would have done it had I the time/skill). Not only that, but they did it fast, didn't push to fix questionable items that didn't need to be fixed yet, and were very friendly the whole time. The price wasn't bad and I fully expect to work with them again!

Scheduling was easy. Erin showed up on time for our appointment. I was notified and sent tracking when she was on her way. She was very helpful in explaining what issues were going on and helped us understand better what we could do about them. She sent us timely estimates immediately after our appointment for potential work we could do and gave us many options to choose from. We're grateful for her professionalism and her ability at communicating with us about the issues affecting our plumbing.

We first contacted Meticulous Plumbing to install a new toilet, which they did a very good job doing. Following that, we had them install new pipes and outlet for our clothes washer and a water line for the fridge. They did such excellent and professional work and advised us every step of the way so we knew exactly what was happening. I would highly recommend them for any plumbing project!

I was assisting my daughter with the clean up of her condo when I found extensive plumbing needs. She had a stopped up drain, a broken tub faucet and a toilet that leaked at the floor. My own plumbing company was not able to serve the Troutdale area but they happily referred me to this company. I'm so glad they did! Erin, the plumber, arrived on time and went right to work. She tackled the stopped up drain first, explained what she found then moved on to the faucet issue. She explained that at some point, the water to the condo must have been turned off (it was) and then, when it came back on, debris got into the cartridge, preventing it from delivering hot water. This problem was not discovered until my daughter used that tub for the first time. After fixing this problem, Erin moved on to the leaking toilet. She found it was not seated correctly to the floor and fixed it. She assured me that the sound we were hearing was not water running loose in the wall from the upstairs bathroom, but in a pipe that was not insulated within the wall. It made sense and our fears were allayed. We are so very grateful for her help. All of this work was done in just a little over 3 hours and the cost was very reasonable. My daughter plans to utilize this company from now on.

I was so pleased with their service! We had tried draino-like products and plunged this sink SO MANY times with not much result. I finally gave in and called for help. Daniel was the plumber who came to check on our clogged sink. He was literally there about 15 minutes and it was unclogged and draining perfectly. He was even so kind to not charge us because he felt it was such a quick fix. WHAT SERVICE! He just said, remember us next time :)
I definitely will and I'd like to share my experience with those of you looking for great service.

just had meticulous plumbing at my home to help with a clogged pipe that caused my washer to gush water all over the floor. my plumber, Travis, attempted to snake the drain but pulled out hair and some other weird stuff and instructed me to call a drain cleaning service. i was charged $60 for his time here, about 15 minutes, and on top of that another $19. I called meticulous instead of calling Lovett or another similar company, as I felt I would be more taken care of - but was totally wrong and now am $80 out and still have to find someone else to come and inspect my pipe and figure out the real problem. I gotta say, I feel ripped off, for sure. in the plus side, Travis arrived very early, and was nice, so there's that...

On time, excellent quality work, courteous office staff and on-site. Had the last of my galvanized pipe replaced, my washing machine fixtures moved, and had new pipe brought into my bathroom remodel.

They were not the cheapest bid, but the meticulous part of their name is no joke. The plumbing job looked great after completion.

I called them to check a couple of issues with my sewer pump and crawl space pump. They checked the sewer pump to be good. The crawl space pump had seized and needed replacement. They worked with me on options and provided me with accurate estimates. Came on time on the agreed appointment. Seth and his team kept me informed of arrival and updates me of the work as it progresses. They were very pleasant to work with. He kept the place clean and finished the work as estimated. This was the smoothest contractor job I've experienced. I will definitely call them again for any plumbing work.

This review is for the preliminary visit by the plumber to evaluate the project and offer estimates. She was knowledgeable, patient and courteous. She gave us all the time we needed to respond to questions. She explained the project (rough-in plumbing for a shower remodel), and offered us alternatives and options to consider. She is making inquiries as to the best shower fixture units to use and will respond back to us accordingly. Based on this visit we decided to use this company and will follow up with a review once the project is complete.

Joey replaced my disposal and faucet and he was friendly, professional and efficient. Their attention to detail and communication is wonderful. They use technology effectively to support their work, sending texts and emails to update as needed.

The work was just fine. However, since I haven't had any need for repairs for a few years, I found the cost was very surprising.More than double what a similar repair cost 3-4 years ago. I would have given five stars had it not been for the exorbitant cost. Ah well, that's the world we're living in now.

Snaked the drains in both bathrooms when only one needed it. Wanted to charge over $250 to install a $2 part in faucet. Took me a less than 30 minutes to do it myself. For a guy with so much experience, he seemed like he was waiting for me to tell him what was wrong. I love the owner of this business, his knowledge base was truly amazing, but I wouldn't want this other guy back for anything.

On Time, GREAT communication and reasonably priced BUT.....

I had a waterline installed for a new refrigerator. Not overly crazy about the locations of where she drilled in for the lines but they are ok. My problem was what happened afterward. Came down after she left, turned on my dishwasher and faucet to do dishes and run garbage disposal. Water and food debris poured out from the cabinet. Everything underneath the sink soaked and dirty.

While putting the waterline, she must have bumped the drain from the sink/garbage disposal causing it to come apart. I realize that this was not intentional but shows a lack of detail. The installer should have taken a few moments to examine the pipes before completing the job. If she had, I would not be having to throw away over $100 in seal a meal bags, sponges, and other items.

Would I use them again, maybe but if hired again, I would be double checking their work

We chose Meticulous Plumbing due to mostly good reviews on this site. Installation of 2 faucets and $19.00 dispatch feel brought our total bill to $670.75.

01/22/2016 We had to bring a second plumber out to fix the faucets Meticulous Plumbing had installed in our kitchen. We opted for Beaverton Plumbing, who we've used in the past and liked. Mike showed up on time (a little early - he called first to ensure it was ok) and tightened the faucets Meticulous had installed. His belief is that there is a metal washer missing from the installation which should have been with the faucets and wasn't used. He also fixed the issue we had in the upstairs bath, which Meticulous had told us would require a complete new fixture. The bathroom shower took 2 turns to tighten a loose fitting. The total cost for this work (Repair of kitchen faucet and upstairs shower) was $110 - their minimum. Given the type of kitchen faucet we had Meticulous install, Mike estimated Beaverton would have charged about $165 for installation. Beware of using Meticulous Plumbing. Not only do they overcharge, but they make excuses and give poor advice.

These guys are awesome.

Used them this week in my new home, they had great communication and were even early (they did call ahead to make sure showing up early was allowed which was really great) they even left the kitchen cleaner than when they started, which is greatly appreciated. The plumbers that came out were very friendly and kept me informed of what they were doing through the entire process.

We had a laundry list of plumbing issues: new kitchen faucet, toilet replacement, three other leaking toilets each with a different issue, bathroom sink pop-up drain stops that needed fixing, and then a broken connection under the kitchen sink. We called in the midst of an ice storm so Meticulous couldn't fit us in for several weeks due to the emergencies, but they communicated regularly, as they waited for a cancellation. Once we had an appointment, Joe arrived right on time. He looked at each task, drew up a bid (it was not cheap, but it was fair), and then set to work. He clearly knew his stuff, explained each problem, found a couple of complications, but worked through them. In addressing one of the unexpected problems (a broken valve preventing us from turning the toilet off) he went under the garage and found a mysterious leak and he helped identify the source (no charge). I can't say enough about how pleased I am. It all looks and works great. From the the woman managing the schedule to Joe doing the work, they were first rate. I hadn't used them before, but would only use them in the future.

Found this place on Angie's list where they also have excellent reviews. I used them twice during the recent condo remodel. The first was to move a washer dryer hook up about a foot over and also move a kitchen sink vent about 3 ft over (sounds easy but not so much). The second was to resolve a leaky overflow value on the tub in my bathroom. Both times they showed up gave me a price and were able to do the work right then and there. I loved loved loved that. I also thought the prices were reasonable (meaning I probably could have found cheaper but not anyone who was this fast, efficient, and customer friendly).

But you don't get a 5 start review for just being good you need to be great and it was with the second job where they really shined. You see the worst part of the leak was that my downstairs neighbor informed me of it and was not so happy to have water dripping from her bathroom ceiling. She was so upset she was a little too much for me to handle so I asked the plumber if he could help. He was able to calm her down and explain to her that all was now resolved and that these thing just happen sometimes. His knowledge and expertise allowed her to trust him and trust that it was now fixed.

I recently had my sister who is opening a restaurant (mid-remodel) call them for some plumbing advise and she also had good things to say.

I called Meticulous Plumbing after another company (3 Mountains Plumbing) refused to provide services for our town-home. Meticulous got us scheduled about 3-4 weeks out as it wasn't urgent. We happened to get lucky and Ann called back a couple hours later with a cancellation - she was wonderful and friendly as well. Seth showed up a few minutes later. He addressed our original issue and we had him unclog a few drains as well. After finishing we found a massive clog in the kitchen drain which he spent about 45 minutes clearing. He was very friendly, professional, and efficient. Everything was left as clean or cleaner than when he arrived. I would highly recommend Meticulous Plumbing and will use them again in the future.

Unbelievable communication, ease of scheduling. The technician, Seth, was a total pro and also communicated better than any service person that has ever done work at my home here in Bethany over the last 30yrs. I couldn't be more pleased. Looking forward to the next project with them in early June!!
