When our water heater went out we called Fast. This was at about 2 PM on Friday and we had a plumber in the house by 1130 on Saturday morning. An hour later it was all over with. We got good information on what was going on with both the old and the new water heater. We were impressed with the fast response and the service. We would recommend Fast to anybody in need of a water heater.

Fast was great. Our water heater was no longer giving a full tub of water. When I called Fast I was happy to hear they stock energy efficient water heaters - so i could replace my old clunker with an energy efficient supper star. It's been a couple of weeks now and it has been delivering all the hot water we need. A professional team that delivered great service. On the phone answered all my questions. On install day they arrived on time took care of and explained everything. Plus they knew about all the incentive i was eligible for and did the paperwork for me - so easy. Would be happy to tell friends (already have).

Hired them through Home Depot. Did a great job replacing the water heater, but wanted to charge me an extra $99 for a second person to help haul away the old 75gallon tank. There was no second person, so be careful what you are paying for.

Went through Home Depot to replace my water heater which was leaking badly. Got connected to Fast WHC. Appointment was a week from calling and then I was notified that the guy cancelled right before their office closed on the weekend, so I had to wait past the weekend. Then as the next week came around the guy that actually showed up did nothing besides empty the tank. He gave me info to call around town and ask for some parts that are hard to find.

I called around, found an independent guy who said it was all bs. He came to check my tank and the next day I had a brand new tank fully working.

Screw Home Depot and Fast WHC for delaying my situation and causing more water damage than necessary. I'll go elsewhere for home repair next time.

Scott, our service technician, was a real pro. He got the job done quickly, tidily, and properly. He was able to install the water heater in a tiny closet in our condo with no problem at all. He took the closet door off and put it back on with no extra charge. And he was fair and friendly.

We bought the water heater through Home Depot, and booking the work was easy. The installation estimate was accurate. This may not be the cheapest installation service, but we feel we got good value.

Fast Water Heater Co did my last install almost 8 years ago. Our decision to replace the old heater vs getting a repair. During this service, the installers were again professional, courteous, and as times are now they were mindful of Covid safety procedures. They explained all the charges and ensured I knew what they planned to do. During wrap up after install ~2hrs or maybe even less than that...they explained my new water heater functions. We actually called Home Depot to get information on replacing our water heater, they sent us Ian from Fast water heater company. He showed up the first time within the 2 hour window they gave us. Unfortunately the water heater they brought according to what needed to be replaced, was not going to fit in the drip pan. Ian explained everything that we had questions about. When he had to come back with the proper size water heater, not only was he early for the appointment, but he was very quick and efficient. Ian was very professional and I had a new water heater installed within 2 hours, just exactly the quote for how long it would take. Hopefully I won't have to call them anytime soon to replace the water heater with a 9 year warranty, but I would in a second if I needed another one put in.

Fast Water Heater Company came to our residence on time and made sure our new water heater was installed in accordance to our local code requirements. The fee was considerably more than the quote, but all of the additional costs were due to code requirements and each service was explained thoroughly before the work began. What a joke. I needed a new water heater as soon as possible. Two guys came to my house and told me that they could not replace my water heater with a new one and less I had an electrician change the wiring for grounding. I talked to several electricians and all of them thought this made no sense and had never heard of it. That only needs to be done if it's a new property for code. In addition to that, they kept adding on all these extra charges for this and that which was really confusing but they were actually trying to upsell me. And overall was going to charge me $1800 to replace a water heater. I found a George Morlan within a day they came out and installed it with no problems whatsoever. Plus it was $800 less then fast water heaters quoted me. I do not recommend them

After talking to Fast Water Heater, I decided to look at other companies. The person on the phone was not interested in helping, but more interested in making sure I could afford the cost of a new water heater. It came across as very cold and rude. I asked if he would be the person to meet me at my home, and he confirmed he sends out technicians. Maybe the company is OK, I just want someone who is not just collecting a paycheck, but also has the customer's best interest in mind.

As I turned off the basement lights after a night of watching TV, I noticed that tell tale river of water coming from my hot water heater. Fortunately my gas company had sent me a brochure in my gas bill showing how to turn off the hot water heater. The next day I called Fast Hot Water Heater and was pleased as to how easy it was to set up the service and purchase my new hot water heater. The phone staff was very polite and accurate with the estimate and the technician who came to the house was skilled and explained everything to me. Ryan and Tim came out to our house after our water pressure had suddenly dipped after a new water heater was installed. Within 1/2 hour they had fixed it. Honest to gosh, the water pressure to my kitchen sink is even better than it was before! Ryan was kind enough to answer my questions and show me how to change the heat setting on my water heater. We purchased our water heater through Home Depot on Saturday, and it was installed first thing Monday morning. The installation team called when they were an hour away in order to make sure I was at home and ready for the installation. We went over all of the costs of the installation, as well as the possible additional expenses that might be incurred in order to bring the installation up to the current codes. They were careful about making sure that they didn't damage our floors, walls, wood trim, etc, and when they had finished, everything was clean, neat, done in a very workmanlike manner, and my old heater was in their truck to be disposed of. The technicians didn't mind me hanging over their shoulders, and were more than happy to explain everything they did. I would not hesitate to recommend them to a friend, or use them again.

Just had a spiffy new Energy Star water heater installed and was very pleased with this company. In particular, I thought the woman who initially answered the phone was really thorough in answering my questions and making the process smooth and easy. I wasn't prepared to replace the whole water heater until I learned that my 8 year old unit wasn't worth repairing, so I wasn't exactly an easy sell. The installer was great too.
By the way, this company offers a 15 year warranty on my water heater that seemed above and beyond industry standard.

First, if you are reading this you probably need a water heater now! I wish I had more time in advance to research the latest energy efficient tankless options. Those often qualify for a tax rebate, but may involve moving the heater to another location or more major plumbing, venting and wiring changes, which take more time. I did get the most efficient drop in replacement system though, fast!

I don't know how I found this water heater company, but I was in need of a fast water heater replacement when my old gas one failed while relatives were visiting. Boiling hot water on the stove like the old pioneer days is a poor substitute. They were able to provide options from the most reliable brands, agree on a price, and do the job in less than 24 hours.

The installer, Greg B, was unbelievably fast and efficient. Arrived on time. He knew the installation code, handled the Portland permitting, improved the earthquake strapping and removed the old water heater and parts for recycling. In Portland, a permit is required, it's filed by Fast, included in the price as a line item, and the City inspects a random set to be sure it's done right.

Best of all, for each installation the company requests the customer provide detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement in a phone survey on the experience. As a quality and statistical process control geek, that sort of thing stands out in the wild and wooly building contractor business.

Our gas water heater was leaking and needed to be replaced. We called several companies and only Home Depot was able to give us a quote and offer to bring in the water heater, replacing ours the next day. Home Depot backs up their work with a warranty, so you know they will do the job right the first time. They sent in Fast Water Heater Company. As the name suggests, they were fast, professional, and friendly. Fast Water Heater Company does good work and gives you a good value for your money. I would definitely do business with them again. Though I hope not to need a water heater for a few more years... I highly reccomend Fast Water Heater Company!

My Sister had an electric water heater replaced by Fast Water Heater in February 2008. She had nothing but great things to say about this company!! Last Saturday, my gas water heater was leaking so I got on the phone and gave them a call. A rep (Tim) came out and looked over the water heater, gave pricing, recommendations, and got started on installation. He was very professional, taking care in removing the old water heater and put in a nice new 50 gallon. The entire process went very smoothly and was relieved to have hot water running again so quickly! This is definitely the company to call!!

Just as the name implies. Fast Water Heater Company is indeed fast! I made the appointment at 9:15 am and Donny was here an hour later. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and the job was done within an hour. We had already removed the old tank so maybe that is why the new 50 gallon water heater was all set to go in an hour. Not sure it would have taken a whole lot longer if Donny needed to remove the old tank first. Installation seemed pretty straight forward.

Fast Water Heater Company is the company that partners with Home Depot to install the water heaters they sell in their stores.

The only complaint I have is that the quote I was given on the phone wasn't anything close to what I ended up paying. It was off by several hundred dollars more. Not at all happy about that. Before Donny got started he did show us in advance the things that needed to be done and how much extra it would be, but really at that point you just want to get the new water heater in. I am sure those things that needed to be done are things that every person installing a new water heater needs so I don't quite understand why I wasn't told about them when I called.

Excellent, Professional Service! We purchased a new GE water heater from Home Depot when our hot water not only started going cold in the middle of our showers, but the 10-12 year old unit started leaking. Fast Water Heater Company did the installation. I spoke with Julie on the phone and she was was very friendly and helpful while explaining the costs and setting an appointment that worked with our schedule. We had a 2-4pm appointment on a Saturday, and the technician Donny called at 1:30 to say he was on the way, and was there by 2pm. When he arrived, he was very friendly and professional. He explained the couple of code issues we had, and fixed them for us (we needed a ball valve shut off instead of the old style and an also an expansion tank). It added a little bit more cost than we were expecting, but safety is important and we appreciate that he made sure we were as up to date as possible. He was also quick with the installation itself, and left the work area very clean. We will definitely call them again should we need any more assistance with our water heater installation. It's nice not to have to worry about a leaky water heater anymore!

They installed my water heater through Home Depot. The technician forgot to turned the outside faucet valve back on. I didn't notice there was no water outside until a few months later. Unable to figure out, I have to call the plumber and he located the valve right on top of the water tank was not turned on. Contact them many times and eventually they refused to compensate for the plumber fee even though clearly it was their fault. Will never use this company again. Not recommended

Hot water went bonkers. Being old folks tried couple places, their hours not open on weekend. Called Home Depot they put us in touch with Fast Water. This turned out to be a blessing for us on a weekend. Ian showed up in the time frame we were told and went right to work. Very efficient, conscientious worker. Literally never showed up! I called the number here on Yelp, talked to a guy who sounded stoned (or at least not paying much attention?), he said he'd be at my house in 15 minutes, and then he literally never showed up. I tried calling and texting to confirm and he never answered again. Horrible experience. Zero stars. Very frustrating experience!

Wish I could say better things about them. They installed a new water heater 7 months ago and it stopped working a few weeks ago. They came out and fixed the heater. An hour later it was not working again. We had to wait 4 days for them to come back out to with the new part. They then fixed the issue but we started smelling gas every time the heater ran. We were told it would be a $100 fix. We paid, they fixed again and still broken with a gas smell. Three calls, three appointments that they cancel at the last minute, we still have an issue. So over the waiting. There is nothing Fast about them.

Be careful. We ordered a 50 gallon tank via Home Depot to replace an existing 20 year old 50 gallon tank that was going bad. Were warned by Home Depot staff that we may be up-sold on various features we probably don't need. Boy were they right. Hot Water 50 gallon heater was $578 at Home Depot and we were told installation, removal of tank would be total of $959. Was surprised when serviceman showed up and wanted an additional $997 in various items -- installing earthquake straps (we already have earthquake insurance) for $79, installing a new stand (the old stand was just great) for $129, installing a new valve for $99, installing a new expansion tank - $179, installing a double wall vent for $471.50 and then $39 for 3 MIP's. We had a home inspection 2 years ago that said our vents were up to code. Be forewarned!

What a pleasure to deal with! We had to replace a water heater that blew out over the weekend. On Sunday evening I talked with a Fast rep. through Home Depot and went over some details and descriptions. We made an appointment for the next morning, somewhere between 9-11am. At 8:35 on Monday morning technician Dale from Fast called and went over some of our facts--he said he would be at our home around 9am and was right on time! Dale's demeanor was personable and very professional. He was obviously very experienced and did a thorough analysis, offering us options and specifications necessary to complete the work. Unknown to him he came within $45. of our budget! He worked straight through to the finish and checked everything. Clean up was great and he negotiated a mess in our older home's basement. The Heater is working perfectly so far!

I have been extremely disappointed in this company. After they installed the tankless water heater, I realized I needed a recirculation unit. I made an appointment with the biggest window anybody could imagine meaning I would had to stay home all day. They never arrived. At around 6 I called and they said someone would be there. By 9 no one had arrived. The next day I was at work and I receive a text that they had arbitrarily scheduled another service date, once again with the huge window, this time on a day I was working. Naturally, I had to cancel it. We later had a problem with a gas odor from the kitchen window. It turned out that the technician had vented the tankless water heater directly towards the kitchen window. The gas company was convinced there was a leak somewhere there was a leak somewhere and wouldn't let us use the hot water heater until Fast Water Heater came. When the technician arrived, he said that the smell of gas was normal but he decided to change the direction of the vent. He found some spare plastic piping in his truck and constructed a 5 foot monstrosity that can only be appreciated with a photo. Most recently after a storm, we suddenly had no hot water. I called Fast Water Heater and they said it certainly sounded like it was a plumbing issue or a gas issue and not their problem. I explained to them that the heater had beeped and showed an error code number 12. He said that they could come out but would charge me $159 and probably wouldn't be able to do anything. Our heater is not very old but it is not under warranty for labor, only parts. I called a plumber who told me to look in the book and the error codes would be explained. The area code was rather bizarre saying that the gas was interrupted. Although we did call the gas company, we also had the plumber come out. He drove quite a distance, took the front off and listened while I tried to run hot water. He said he had never seen anything like it. The heater vibrated and made terrible noises. The error code appeared again. As he continued to examine, he said he thought there was some water in it. He then examined the vent that the Fast Water Heater technician had created. He drilled a small hole in the bottom curve of the plastic pipe and water began leaking out. He made the whole a bit bigger and water streamed out of it for 10 minutes. At the end of that time he put the panel back on the water heater and we tried the hot water. It worked. It turned out that the problem was caused by the terrible eyesore (vent) constructed by the Fast Water Heater technician.This plumber drove quite a distance and did not charge us anything for the service. He will get an excellent review. I will never go back to Fast Water Heater again and truthfully, if I could have given no stars at all that's what I would have done.

Not only do they install and service all water heaters they also are very capable of repairing other issues. As it turned out I did get a tankless system installed into my home. I absolutely love it and have never a any problems with it yet. Fast Water Heater Company was quick, very knowledgeable, and reasonable. They were polite and cleaned up after themselves. I will definitely use them again whenever I have plumbing or other home issues arise.

I called about a new water heater 2 weeks ago with FAST. Energy Trust is offering a rebate on a new water heater with FAST, and my old one was nearing the end of its life. I was able to schedule installation for today. The installer arrived on time, checked all necessary points, explained to me the cost and the options. The installer showed up right on time and explained to me what additional work and costs would be necessary beyond what was quoted over the phone. He seemed a bit annoyed that I asked a lot of questions at first to get things straight, but worked hard to get the job cost down to where I felt I could proceed. He was very friendly and helpful while on the job, and even found a couple more ways to reduce the overall cost while still doing an excellent job and staying within code. Overall, I was very satisfied with the installer's workmanship and attitude, and the water heater looks and works great.

Our old water heater was undependable with varying degrees of hot water when needed. A new energy efficient water heater was very quickly installed by a skilled technician. He arrived on time and did a great job. Our bill reflected the energy rebate without any phone call or forms to fill out and send in. I needed a water heater replacement for a hydronic system. Many of the contractors I worked with were unresponsive, provided excessively priced quotes or seemed to take little interest. As a result, I approached Home Depot for help and their systems linked me with Fast Water Heater Company.

For cost and other reasons, I ultimately went with another company. However, the people I worked with at Fast Water Heater Company were top notch professionals. If you have water heater needs, they certainly should be consulted and considered as a strong option.

HORRIBLE experience with FAST Hot Water Heater. I ordered a hot water heater from SEARS and FAST Hot Water Heater was the company contracted by SEARS to install it. They presented a list of 4 add ons for me to consider. When I asked if these were options or needed to be done, I was told by the installer that only one needed to be done. Turns out that one of the items was installing an expansion tank, which is required by code to pass inspection. Now they say they are happy to come out and add that, but I'll have to pay for another service call (plus the cost of the tank, which they quote at $179--a local plumber says it will be about $35). Had the installer mentioned that the expansion tank was required by code, of course, I would have gotten it. When I called to complain, they said I had been informed (because they had checked the miniscule box on the form saying those things were required by code). But, it turns out that they checked two other things that were required by code that aren't required by code. SHODDY SERVICE. CANT TRUST THEM. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Had a good experience with these guys after my old water heater leaked and needing replacing. A different company I had called beforehand not only couldn't make it out for a week, but in my opinion made a clearly improper suggestion on what type of replacement to use. Fast Water Heater recommended the unit that made the most sense I think and scheduled me the next day for the replacement. The installer, Tim, called ahead and arrived within the appt window. He was thorough, knowledgeable, did a clean install job, and took time to answer all the questions I had. I didn't feel like there was any pressure, & prices I believe were fair. Overall FWH seems well-organized. Glad I went with them & would definitely recommend them.

I had purchased a coupon on Angie's list for a hot water installation for $849.00. When the installer came, I was very discouraged by his condescending lecture and telling me what needed to be done. I was prepared to have the additional cost of an expansion tank as I had a feeling my water pressure was higher than normal. However the remaining $1500.00 of add-ons was outrageous. On top of that, he insinuated that it was stupid to put a pressure-regulating valve on my old galvanized water main and I should probably replace that as well. He could have his boss (a licensed plumber) come give me a bid on that.!! According to him, plumbing such as mine in a 67-year-old house scared them. They were afraid to touch many components of this old plumbing. I assume he was talking about his co-workers as he used the word us. I am a senior woman and perhaps he thought I just fell off the turnip truck. According to him, if I did not do all these additional services, my house was potentially going to flood and my homeowners insurance was not going to pay for it.!!! I live in Oregon and we are preparing for a huge earthquake. One requirement is that the water heater is to be secured to the wall. He was going to overlook this requirement, as he was scared he would hit some piping or electrical wires by doing this. Then at the end, I found out they work on commission. Somewhere in all the BS I was fed, perhaps there are snippets of truth, but that will require much research on my part. Angie's list was to help me eliminate some of this.....not in this case. I chose not to have the work done.

Crisis! Not a great time to have to research a company, but we were pleasantly surprised by Fast Water Heater Co.

Old Heater rusted through, in a mad search for a replacement at Home Depot we chose a replacement. Since we were looking for a new gas heater, I thought to inquire at the Home Depot installation services. The first person referred me to the 1-800 number, but another actually called the number and let me speak directly on their phone. I spoke directly with Brett and he quoted a price, but also recommended a more efficient and better gas heater for our needs.

After getting home, just double checked some websites and got a few quotes, but nobody was matching the time or money for our requirements. Also checked Fast's website and had some other questions answered; was very pleased they are on Angie's List and contract through Home Depot.

Installation was quick and easy. Donny went through the code requirement checklist, recommended some quick upgrades, but was not pushy (nice!) and we declined the added costs. Took him about an hour and then an hour later we were taking hot showers! They are also taking care of the application for installation permits for the city of Hillsboro.

When I called Fast Water Heater Company to take advantage of the new deals being offered through NW Natural, it was a very easy and painless call. They offered to come out right away, but I asked if they could come out the next week to install a new water heater and that was not a problem.

Fast Water Heater installed a water heater we had ordered from Sears. They called on the scheduled day to ask if they could come in an earlier time slot (that's a first.)

Installer know what he was doing, did everything professionally.

Note - if you need earthquake straps because your new water heater has a greater diameter than your old one, get them ahead of time. From Fast was more expensive than it should be ($73?), but they had them and I needed them. Installer was apologetic about the cost.

I was at Home Depot to look at Hot Water Heaters. I am a 64 year old single woman and can not install or dispose of a water heater. Home Depot recommended Fast Water Heater Company. I called them and they scheduled a meeting for the next day. Robert, who came out to my house, was extremely courteous and professional. He took out the old Water Heater to dispose of it and installed the new one. Everything was completed in about one and one half hours . Neat, clean, no fuss and no worry - the only way to go ! It was worth every penny ! I recommend this company to all of you who can not or do not wish to deal with the mess of disposal, installation and going personally to get the license from the city. This is so convenient and worry free !

I had not worked with this company before. My parents' house had a leaky old water heater, and needed a new one. I called a few companies, some known by name, others found via Google including Fast. Fast Water Heater offered a good heater at a competitive price, all installation and haul-away included. The installer, Tim, came on time and fully prepared to complete the work. He was polite, informative, and took care of cleaning up some old debris from the prior installation, including 4 old cinder blocks. He meticulously tested everything, labeled everything, and made it clear where we could find various permits and paperwork. This was an extremely satisfactory purchase and experience, and tells me I should work with Fast Water Heater again the next time I need a heater.

The gentleman from Fast Water Heater came and measured the spot where the new water heater was to be installed. He was back that very same day and installed it. The following were an additional cost but well worth it; water catch pan, earthquake straps and alarm. The alarm sits on top with a wire going down to the water catch pan the heater sits in. If water starts collecting in the pan the alarm will sound. (of course you have to be home to hear it!). I live in a manufactured home and the old water heater had none of the previously mentioned items. He was very polite and explained everything thoroughly, WOULD USE AGAIN!

This company was great. They came out the same day we called (as long as you call by noon) They came right when they told us they would and got right to work. The installer was very honest and friendly, he told us what additional services we needed (new earthquake straps to get us up to code and modified venting to allow room for the larger heater) but didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need (ie new stand). He was very quick with the installation and answered all of our questions, the bill was very clear and quite reasonable, especially for same day service. I would definitely recommend them to others.

There are no words for how much I respect Adam and Lee coming to my home and installing a new water heater today. They were on time, respectful, and thorough. All issues and hazards were addressed, they cleaned up after they left, and it was like they were never here. These guys are doing a bang up job! We called and spoke to Edward to sing the praises of Adam and Lee. We are so impressed with their work we are telling our family and friends to call these guys if they have any water heater woes. Man, really professional and they are so knowledgeable.

As a side note, we have had a horrible time with plumbers and water heater repair persons in the Portland area. This is the first time in 14 years we have had success with any person or business in the field.

This should be a zero star review. I don't know what kind of work these guys do, but they didn't seem to want my business.

Cool story bro - I knew my water heater was going to die at some point, but when it did, I wanted to get something that was future looking and energy efficient. The first guy I talked to (after the Home Depot phone referral system routed me there) was just adamant that I wouldn't get the rebate. Plus, they wouldn't schedule to do the work until I had an electrician out (Fair enough, but maybe they could have one ready?). The second guy didn't want to schedule me either, but gave me his direct number.

Next day, I had the electrician doing the work and I called the direct number, but it was busy. I tried again and it was busy too, but I left a message this time. No call was ever returned. Eventually, I called through the Home Depot number again and got a guy who informed me that I would have to pick up the water heater since the one I wanted was too tall, but they would gladly charge me about $800.00 to install it after I picked it up and to call them when I had it in my garage.

At this point, I said Fuck it and I decided to install it myself. I spent about $80 on supplies and it took me about an hour. I haven't disposed of the old one yet, but that price was stupid.

Moral of the story - Don't call these guys if you are wanting something outside the box. Even if you do call, they don't want your business.

These guys were great! I needed to replace two ancient water heaters from the basement of my duplex, and they gave me a great quote. Fast Water Heater was even able to send someone out the same week to install new and haul away the old dead ones.

The worst customer service ever. I have been without hot water for 3 days. They give you a window of 5 hours to come to your house. To find out the part didn't come in the day before. The office knew this and still told me that morning would be out that day. The tech calls me later to tell me on Saturday now they can't fix it until Monday afternoon. This is ridiculous.

My water heater exploded in the middle of the night and started gushing water. We are a family of five so I wanted to upgrade from a 50 gal to 75 gal. I started making calls at 9:00 am and was having a hard time finding a company that had the larger capacity available immediately. 7.11.17 update: Hired a plumber who removed debris from the kitchen sink faucet. Obviously the debris was caused by the water heater install. The installer was too lazy or too stupid - or both - to take the 2 minutes required to solve this problem. I would have done it myself but I have been out of the country for nearly 3 months and won't be back for another couple of weeks. As I said in my review below, a back flush is standard with a water heater replacement - it takes only a few minutes and it would have solved this problem. The plumber charged me $150 for this simple task, which should have been done by Fast Water Heater Company, and I am adding that $150 charge to my claim against the company. Note also that the company still has not responded to my claim against them or to an email I sent them last week - you can support my claim against this company with a single mouse click here: peopleclaim.com/complain…. Also note that if anyone is interested in joining me in a class action lawsuit against this company, please feel free to contact me. I have been discussing it with several attorneys. There are no less than 8 1-star reviews here on yelp out of only 22 reviews, and even people who gave more stars often mention overcharging and terrible customer service. Again, I can't understand how this company is in business. I am also filing a claim against Home Depot to have them drop this company so that this company cannot continue to rip off Home Depot customers. Consider yourselves fairly warned: I was quoted $400 for a standard water heater install, and these guys charged over $1100. That's right - you read that correctly - that is not a typo - these guys charged me over $1100 for a standard water heater install and gave no explanation. The water heater itself was $518 and the total job, with install, was just under $1650. I am still working with Home Depot to find out what happened. If I had been quoted $1100 for a water heater install, I would have asked the person giving the quote to check themselves into the nearest psychiatric ward, hung up, and called someone else. I've installed water heaters myself before - I know what it takes. But wait, there's more - these guys left the property with the kitchen sink not working and without removing the old water heater from the property, which was part of the agreement with Home Depot. When asked about the kitchen sink, while still on site, the installer said, I don't know. Call a plumber. We called the office later asking about the kitchen sink and they responded the same. No back flush performed or anything. Honestly, if after reading this review in addition to some of the other very bad reviews listed here, and you still call these guys, you must be very desperate, and I wish you the best of luck, but you are likely to very much regret it. In addition to working with Home Depot, I am in the process of hiring an attorney to take these guys to court. I don't appreciate being pushed around and ripped off like this, and then treated like garbage by customer service. I can't understand how this company is even in business.

FAST Water Heater provided us the best cost estimate by reviewing all possible issues prior to the site visit/installation. They were very curious and helped to find the best option for our house. The customer service was great over the phone and the men who delivered the WH were nice. Because we needed an electrical upgrade they didn't end up installing it, only dropped it off and didn't charge us for the labor.
We later had another service provider install it for cheaper than we were quoted with Fast.

This company provides installation services for Home Depot. Our Rheem hot water heater was installed in a timely manner today in west Portland, after initiating the request three days ago. Jackson and Jason did a comprehensive evaluation of what was needed for the installation beyond just the water heater itself and did not provide any expensive surprises. Instead they made use of materials I already had in our plumbing system. They were competent, courteous and informative. I am very happy with their work.

This company installed our tankless water heater about 2 years ago. A year ago, my wife complaint about randomly smelling gas in our garage. We called NW Natural Gas to investigate but at that time did not find anything. This random gas smell in our garage continue to plague us till this morning. We called NW Natural Gas to come out and check and investigate. NW Natural Gas came this morning after an early call. They quickly found the problem: there was a break in the exhaust pipe line. The pipe had come loose from an elbow. After trying to contact their service department three times and being on hold for more than two hours, no one answered the call. I even requested help on their website and got a text response to call another number. Again, I was on hold, no one picked up.
My wife by some miracle was able to get through and talk to Fast Water Heater Co. service. She was quickly told that the water heater is out of warranty and that we will have to pay for whatever part is replaced. My wife argued that we've had this problem for over a year and it was their Craftsmanship that failed in the system: the pipe glue the installer applied did not held the pipe in place hence the gas leak. My wife argued that they should repair the leak and not charge us because the issue was workmanship. The guy on the other line just became rude and would not consider my wife's request.

We got the leak fixed by some body else.

If you don't want to suffer the same fate as our family did, stay clear of Fast Water Heater Company.

Having lived with tepid showers for several years, we finally decided to bite the bullet and start shopping around. These guys are reviewed well and often online (likely in part due to the $25 rebate that they offer). I found that of the several companies that I contacted, Fast Water Heather Co. was polite, efficient and upfront about likely costs. I was able to schedule an appointment that fit my schedule and the gentleman that installed the heater did a great job (Thanks Robert!). He was thorough and was great about explaining the process to me. I stand very satisfied with this company, the service and the experience in general.

The people on the phone were knowledgable and helpful. I compared their prices to another local water heater company as well as Home Depot and Lowes and found that they were cheaper than the other water heater company and Lowes, and about the same as buying one from Home Depot and having them install it. (turns out they are the company that Home Depot actually uses to do the installs anyway) But it was better than Home Depot because I didn't have to leave my house to buy the new one myself. The installer came prepared with the new water heater and all the gear and was friendly, clean and answered my questions. I would recommend them.

Water heater died on Friday the 13th before a holiday weekend. Icy roads & freezing temperatures left me stuck at home -- with two kids and no hot water.

Fast Water Heater sent Tim out. First appointment on Sunday. Despite the icy roads, Tim was here on time and had my beautiful, new hot water heater installed by Noon. He was courteous, professional, and took the time to totally research the overall plumbing situation in my old home (Including outdoor spigots and sprinkler system), to make sure he did everything necessary. Patient explanations and instructions provided all along the way. A++ in all aspects. I could not be happier.

I contracted for my new HWH through Home Depot, who subcontracts the work out. Next time I will go directly to Fast Water Heater.

The installation of our new gas water heater went very well!! The two technicians who worked on it were friendly, knowledgeable, explained things in a way that made it easy for me to understand what they were doing and why. The installation area was left clean and water lines were purged before they left AND they arrived when they said they would!! In addition to getting a gas water heater installed, we arranged to have another company install a gas stove insert the following week. The head technician from FAST made himself available to talk with the gas stove company we were working with to find out exactly where the hole in the back of the fireplace needed to be drilled so a gas line could be installed at the same time so we'd be ready to go when it was time to install the stove. They talked, worked it out and the extra work for stove was done :-)

When my tankless water heater started making an odd sound, they were there right away and also made a second visit, which involved a call to the manufacturer to review the issue with an engineer. The noise has gone away for now, but Ryan, the tech, is still working on getting a part from the manufacturer so I don't have to worry about any odd sounds in the future. They'll also being installing something for me when the city water system updates later this winter.

Would not recommend myself. Called and the quote changed mid conversation over the phone. Thought that was weird so i called back and got a third different priced quote. Then was told that there could be up to $800 of add on's that they might have to charge on site. Was told they could not come out for a week to fix a water heater leaking everywhere. My hot water heater began leaking out of the bottom of it, it was fairly old, so I needed a new one quickly. I had no hot water and trying to pioneer it by heating water on the stove was not a wonderful thing.
I called Lowe's (around 730pm) as soon as I found out I had no hot water and saw the water all over the basement floor and made my purchase with arrangements for the install.
The next morning Fast called to set up the appt for later that afternoon. I also received another call from Fast to tell me about the contract and potential other costs, permits, etc.
Robert and Tim arrived with the new hot water heater and in no time it was set up and working. Robert explained about the permits (which the company filed for me) and certain other regulations, as well as the contract before the work started while Tim was carrying in the tools they would need. After my signed approval, they went to work disconnecting the old one and installing the new one. They were polite, professional and answered all my questions as I intently watched everything they were doing. As soon as they checked to make sure there was no gas or water leaks, they packed up their tools, gathered up the various old parts and then hauled that heavy old hot water heater up my somewhat steep stairs and hauled it away with them when they left.
I can't think of anything negative to say about the guys that did the work, the company or the services.

Awesome, rapid lightening fast service! Just after 10am, I went into Home Depot to order a new hot water heater and had hot water the SAME day! When Home Depot connected me to Fast Water Heater, I was nervous I was going to get quoted an outrageous price and then have to commit to 'hidden fees'. The very pleasant and nice female was upfront and honest on ALL fees to order, install, deliver my new water heater and remove my old water heater. Tim was great and made sure I understood everything he explained to me. I was so happy with this company that I asked Tim if they provide other services than installing and fixing water heaters. I had them come out about a week ago to do some work on my water heater because the pilot light kept going out. I already knew what the problem was, but didn't tell them anything right away, so I could gauge their honesty since I never worked with this company before. My existing water heater spung a leak so I was pricing new water heaters. I found some rebates in my NW gas bill if I purchased a water heater thru Fast Water Heater Company. I called for some pricing and found the customer service was very good and the sales rep (Jake) was upfront and honest with the different options I had to choose from. He was able to set me up with an appoitment with-in 48 hours of my call and with the rebates they offered it was cheaper then I could have purchased at Home Depot or Lowes. Donny was the installer that I had. He was on time and was great about explaining what I had purchased and what he was going to do. He was fast very personable. Fast Water Heater was as the name implies FAST. But beyond that - they worked with us through some unforeseen complications. As with any repair - it can sometimes be much bigger than anticipated. There were additional plumbing fixes which required additional expertise. They were flexible and worked with us around the complexities of of fixing multiple issues. They were professional, provided great information, kept everything need and did all this in a timely manner. We are very pleased with the quality of the work and speed at which we got all these things done.

Sadly, we needed to purchase/install a new water heater recently. We were certain it would involve more than a simple purchase of a water heater, as the electrical system in our house has proven to be less than stellar. Soooo, anticipating the output of serious cash, we visited our local home depot to look at water heaters. Interested in a tankless system, we called Fast Water Heater Company, as they are the install people for HD.

Our technician arrived for our consultation well beyond our scheduled time (this is the reason they didn't get 5 out of 5 stars). While we totally understand the fact that he was tied up on a complicated job, we would have appreciated a call to let us know what was going on (we were putting off errands because we didn't want to miss him...so we wasted a whole afternoon). After WE contacted the company regarding his absence, and learned he would be out ASAP, we were a little relieved (we thought we had been blown off completely).

The technician was very polite and, after learning that we wanted to be environmentally friendly, but on a budget, he recommended a system that would work for us. We greatly appreciated that, because he could have milked us for a significant amount more...and i'd be stuck carrying the balance on a credit card.

The following day, Robert, our install technician, arrived on time. He was not only fast and efficient, but he RESOLVED AN ISSUE WITH OUR ELECTRICAL WIRING. PHENOMENAL!!!! Here's someone who was willing to go above and beyond...just to take care of his customer! WOW...talk about incredible customer serivce!

We were thoroughly impressed with our install, the cleanup, and the professionalism of our install technician. We only wish we would have received a head's up phone call on our consulation day letting us know that we weren't forgotten and our tech would be out after finishing a more complicated job. We can't recommend Fast Water Heater Company enough to our friends and family...if you need a new water heater, this is the place to go!

I went through Home Depot to buy a new Rinnai Tankless Water Heater. This company has been the authorized vendor for Home Depot for years. That right there told me that Fast Water Heater is doing a good job for the customers otherwise Home Depot would kick them to the curb. The entire process went very smooth. Adam was the technician who came out and did the initial appointment as well as the installation. He was great. We highly recommend this company. Don't waste your time looking for anyone else. I called Fast Hot Water Heater on a Friday expecting sometime next week service. I was happily surprised to get them to come install it on Saturday!

We have a funky location for the heater. Ian had to replace a small section of venting to get the correct slope. He just whipped out a book of charts and graphs, and got right to work.

The price was great and included installation and hauling of the old one. We have gas, and Ian did a great job on the gas line.

I live in Vancouver Wa and my hot water heater was over 20 years old and finally burned out. I checked around getting estimates from different companies in the area. The best estimate and terms came from Sears who said they used Fast Water Heater Company, and that I might incur extra charges for the installation depending on code. Sears was also the only company that mentioned getting a permit. A day after I had agreed to the contract with Sears, Fast Water Heater Company contacted me to make sure that I had ordered the correct replacement water heater. Once that was established they set up a time to install the water heater, which could have been as soon as that week if I had wanted. A couple of times for personal reasons I had to reschedule this appointment, and they were very polite and rescheduled according to what would be best for me. The installation technician was punctual and professional and explained the necessary code adjustments and extra charges. A county inspector recently inspected the work and said that everything was done correctly.

Based on how irresponsible their drivers are, I would never do business with this company. I tried calling multiple times to alert the company of the reckless driver they have on the road, only to be hung up on. He has cut off multiple people, nearly causing an accident. Any company that is this difficult to get ahold of and who would hire such dangerous people most certainly doesn't deserve your business.

I called and spoke with Patrick about all my options, I'm a new homeowner and have never really needed to buy a new appliance. He patiently answered all of my questions and scheduled people to come and inspect my house the next day. They were super nice, the install happened a few days later, on time, nice, and they loved my cat and spent time talking with him too. They didn't charge me for the second person because he was in training, they left my house clean.
From what I researched they had great prices. I paid $870 for a 50 gallon, 10 year warranty, high efficiency electric heater, including install, permits, pads, earthquake strips, everything.

Ian at Fast Water Heaters replaced our gas water heater today and did a great job. He explained everything to my husband and wasn't pushy when he opted out of some of the options.
They were easy to schedule with, although I do kind of feel like the salesman was trying to push a more expensive model than what I'd asked for....but that's not uncommon.

I do recommend researching your water heater options. The one they had originally recommended didn't have good reviews online, so we went with a different, and less expensive, option that had very good ratings.

The customer service with this company is outstanding, as was the person who installed my water heater. They were prompt, competent, friendly - the whole package. They took extra steps to make sure I got what I wanted. I give them 4 starts, not 5, simply because it was just so expensive to install a tankless that I just can't bring myself to do it. I had done some comparison pricing on replacing an electric one and Fast was competitve on electric replacements, so they probably were with the tankless too (which is what I went with). It's just an expensive process.

Spoke with Marcus, who explained their product line and warranty options. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and professional. I was surprised when he scheduled David to arrive at my house just a couple of hours later. David, who was also very knowledgeable, friendly and professional, called me 30 minutes before heading my way. David assessed the existing setup and provided a written estimate for the work. He explained what needed to be done and patiently answered all of my questions. He then went to work, finishing up faster that I expected. Thrilled is an understatement for how I reacted to seeing the quality of the work David performed and the way he cleaned up the space afterwards. He even came back the next day to verify that everything was working properly. I can't say enough great things about my experience doing business with Fast Water Heater Company and their employees. We called to set up the appointment at 3:00 in the afternoon, for installation between 12:00 and 2:00 the next day. At 10:00 they gave us a courtesy call to let us know they were running a bit late. The technicians arrived at 2:15, and the job was done by 4:00. They were polite and thorough when discussing the quote, code issues, and options. All in all they handled the job very efficiently, went over the details of what was done and how the system was checked out, and left the work site spotless. After doing some comparison shopping I decided that Fast Water Co offered the best deals on gas water with the best reviews. I also took advantage of the special offered through NW Natural. The process was painless. I was a bit nervous that they would not commit to a definite price until they came out to the house. But they assured me that i could cancel without paying for a service call. The price ended up being a bit more that they estimated on the phone, but it was still cheaper than their competitors. The installer was pleasant. The new heater is working great.

Our water heater had a slow leak from the drum that became huge quickly. A bad sign that we needed a new one. Our Fast Water Heater technician was terrific - professional, patient, skilled, shared information, and got a new water heater installed quickly and with determination. Ryan was the technician for the job performed for my grandmother, and he was superb! Punctual, professional, knowledgable, and very pleasant. I had to arrange this service for my grandmother after Rescue Rooter scammed my grandmother out of almost $2000! Not only did RESCUE ROOTER fail to do the job correctly, they also charged my grandmother 300% more than the listed price of the water heater, and sold her a warranty that cost 5 times as much as the average. The service we got from Fast Water Heater Company & Ryan was exceptional, and a definite breath of fresh air.

He provided a clear estimate and explained everything that was required to do the job. He also answered my questions and provided great tips on keeping the water heater running well. Good experience, fast service. Was done with the entire water heater installation in less than 2 hours! Definitely recommend Fast Water Heater Company. The only bummer is the unexpected expenses on the day of installation (which is probably true for any company). I was quoted a certain amount over the phone and then on install day was recommended an additional 4 items that totaled over $350. Install was done by Donny, super friendly.

I appreciated the service provided by Chris Brown from Fast. He was professional, timely and efficient. He provided great instructions on how to use the system, cleaned up his mess and even made my dog comfortable. I would definitely use Fast in the future, especially if they send Chris.

Well they showed up on time and replaced the heater and left.... then the Hot turns to cold...... it was a crappy water heater and it was leaking on to the flame and put it out, and it was Friday night so I had to wait two days to get a new one.... but the new one works real good

Our 23 year old gas tank direct vent water heater was starting to fail. Kevin and Sean from Fast Water Heater came out and they did a great job of installing a tankless water heater. The old water heater was very noisy and the new one is super quiet. We love the new water heater and the job that they performed.

I recently needed to install a new water heater. I wanted something high efficiency. In researching, I found some information the GE Hybrid electric water heater. It's super efficient, qualifies for tax credits from Oregon and the Feds, and was much more in my price range than having a tankless water heater installed.

I called Fast back to see if they could deliver the GE, and unfortunately, since I had contacted them originally through Home Depot, and HD doesn't sell the GE, fast wasn't able to bring out the unit. They could only deliver the Rheem, which is what Home Depot sells. So I cancelled my open case with Fast, and decided to keep shopping.

A few days later, i found the GE unit at Sears, and it was on sale, so I bought it. I paid Sears for professional installation, and scheduled the install.

The next day, Fast called me back to say they got the install contract with Sears, and they were happy I was able to find the GE. They remembered me, and immediately made sure I got the same technician they had sent out previously. They were very friendly on the phone, and courteous, and seemed genuenly to want to help me find the best water heater at the best price. We scheduled, Donny showed up right on time, he was in and out quick, and kept the area where he was working really clean. I'm very satisfied with the service I got from them. I would recommend them if you need help with your water heater, or are interested in getting a more efficient unit.

Dale & asst. explained all costs up-front and the proceures they would follow to replace our leaking water heater. We were in need of a water heater ASAP. We went through Home Depot who connected us with Fast Water Heater. We called on Friday morning and had a new water heater installed on Saturday. Ian came out to install a water heater the next day after give an on site quote. He arrived exactly when he said he would be there. He was professional and very clean. No mess to clean up!
