HISTORY

Established in 1952.
In 1952, Abend Plumbing was founded by Carl Abend and his wife, Catherine. Carl had the distinction of being granted the second plumbing license in the state of Maryland. This company has been family-run ever since, and the reins have switched hands a couple of times over the years. The current owner is Katie Abend, who became owner in 2014. This plumbing business is woman-owned, and they celebrate diversity at every opportunity. The benefits of doing business with a woman-owned company are numerous! Instilled in each Tribe member are the core values of Honesty and Integrity that drive their actions. They understand the importance of hard work and accountability. I had a kitchen sink that was backed up. A friend referred me to Abend. Called them and they promptly sent someone the same day. Dustin cleared my drain and had me back in business. The drain backed up again a few weeks later (my fault. Didn't know how much of a problem egg shells could cause). Called again. Same day service with Dustin clearing my drain, found the cause, educated me on how to keep my drain clear and gave me a return customer discount. Absolutely the BEST local Plumbing company around! Small but you can't beat the heart this company and the owners have!

My worst $9,000.00 mistake. They never pulled a permit and left 3 foot of bad pipe that would have caused me issues latter on. Had to hire another contractor to fix everything. The owner sent an insulting apology letter that they copied and past from another website. Never finished the job. It was obviously to big for them to handle. Countless other issues too many to list. They will not do another job in this neighborhood. God will get justice in the end.

I recently had Abend out to remove a hot water heater while the floor was being repaired, then they came back once floor repairs were made, installed a drain pan and line for the hot water heater.
Very prompt, courteous, and efficient service. I definitely recommend them.
