HISTORY

Established in 2007.
Starting out as a practical way for our owners Jack Hope and Brad Persic to earn money to pay for school, Hope Plumbing has grown into a thriving local business. By the time they had finished their degrees, two more plumbers were adding to their team and the demand for their service just kept growing. This gave them an idea of establishing Hope Plumbing, working full time as the community's resident plumbers. 15 years later, our company has expanded to include a skilled staff of plumbers, technicians, and specialists providing quality plumbing services to countless homes in the community.

Moving is no fun task for anyone; especially when you experience plumbing issues your first week in the house. To be honest, Hope was the first company that came up when I searched for help regarding our Garbage Disposal, so I called.

I was incredibly impressed with their response time. In addition, I wasn't charged for the service. It turns out that the disposal was installed incorrectly. The technician that came out to help taught me how to fix it myself as well as taught me about the plumbing in my house. A1 customer service and experience. We will definitely be using Hope in the future based on this experience alone.

called them to repair a shower tub spout. wasn't there 30 minutes, repair incomplete at a cost of $350.
never again, a joke
called reputable plumber, job done in less than an hour, replaced a couple problem valves in the kitchen as well. All for far less than Hope. Save your money and time, avoid the aggravation and go elsewhere.

This is my 2nd time using Hope Plumbing. The first was an okay experience. They came out to hook up a gas line to my Washer/Dryer combo. I even let them put a sign in my front yard. But this most recent experience has not been so pleasant. I believe my most recent experience with Hope Plumbing to be either lazy or uneducated, I'm not sure which.

I called them out to look at my tankless water heater that was giving an error code. I agreed (at the time) to pay the hefty $99 service fee. I told them a 30 min window when I would not be available. Guess when the technician showed up? Two minutes before that 30 minute window. What even is the point of having scheduling blocks?

Since I was unable to monitor the troubleshooting and work done I have very good reason to believe that the bare minimum was done to diagnose the error code problem for reasons I'll mention later. Rich gave me 3 quotes. 1) Flush the tankless water heater ($300) 2) Repair this current water heater which would include a $600 call to Rheem/Richmond technical support that Hope Plumbing passes the cost along to me, the customer. 3) A completely new system for $7,000.

But don't worry, I had to hear about their member program 4 times. Where you set up monthly payments from your bank routing number. No thanks.

After I told Rich I'd think about the 3 quotes, I call Rheem/Richmond's customer support line for tankless water heaters (for free). The lady was very nice and sent the troubleshooting guide for my model of water heater that included my error code. That's when I realized that Rich did not know or did not follow the troubleshooting for this error code laid out by Rheem. Lazy? Or uneducated?

I called back to Hope to first confirm that I did have a scheduling block set for 10:30. They confirmed I did. I told them Rich showed up right at my scheduling block. They apologized. I asked what was done to diagnose my error code. Carrie with Hope said that she trusts Rich's diagnosis. Based on what? Not the troubleshooting guide by Rheem. She said she would schedule a 2nd technician to come out and take a look at no additional cost. The technician texted that he was 30 mins away at 8:52 AM. That would leave only 30 minutes for diagnosis before another scheduling block. Running in to the exact same problem.

I immediately call up Carrie and tell her I was maybe wrongly under the impression that the tech would be here earlier. I suggest we go our separate ways and refund my $99 service fee from the day prior. Carrie transfers me to her manager, Hope and she refunds my service fee.

What a waste of time. I've completely lost trust in this plumber and business. Many other reviews here state how Hope Plumbing is pricier than its competitors. If you're going to be more expensive... you'd better be an expert in your field and give much better service than I received. Buyer beware. Look elsewhere.

I highly recommend Hope Plumbing. On a Sunday night we realized our basement was flooding from our water heater. They sent someone out Monday morning and we had a new water heater that day. They also fixed other issues in our utility room due to the builder not installing correctly. Hopefully this will save us money in the future. Everyone we worked with were professional and easy to communicate with.

I discovered a big leak in a 1/2 copper pipe under my house.  The fix would require removing and sweating on a copper T and a 45 degree fitting. The technician looked at the problem, and estimated $1800 for this minor repair. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

This company is AWESOME! From the initial phone call to schedule, to the technicians they send out, these people really know their stuff! I had an issue with my water heater, so I gave them a call. The guy that answered, Acel was very nice. They were able to get me in that same day to get the issue taken care of. With Indiana's hard water, I needed a softener. The buildup was tearing our water heater up. What I really liked was that they gave several options that range depending on your budget. Richard VanDyke explained everything upfront so we felt comfortable with the solution and cost. We haven't had a single issue since. These guys really have a care for their work, and it shows. 10/10 I would recommend HOPE!

I had a clog in my home's sewer line. Hope came out, tested the line, and said I would need a clean outline installed so they could complete the removal of the obstruction.

I was given an estimate for the work. With the estimate I asked for a breakdown of material and labor costs and was told we don't do that
I stressed that I needed this repair done ASAP as I had sewage backing up in a basement drain. I agreed to the estimate and a 10% deposit was paid as requested.

The estimate was done on a Wednesday and the job scheduled for the upcoming Friday morning @ 9am. The Tech from Hope did not show up until @ 3pm. I was not informed at any time earlier that day that there would be a delay.

The Tech said it was too late to start the job, and he would be back on Monday. Keep in mind I have sewage backing up in my basement. I asked for a Saturday (next day) start and was told no, it would have to wait until Monday.

Before he left, the tech then, without discussing with me, drove a large excavator over my front lawn with the intention of leaving it there all weekend. It was parked away from the repair site and if left there would have further damaged my grass. I asked him to remove it and bring it back on Monday. He complied, but was obviously not happy with having to move the machine back to the trailer it arrived on. This resulted in unnecessary damage to my front yard grass.

On Monday the repair was finally done. However, the resulting excavation pile was scattered over a larger area then the excavation dig itself, and contained broken pieces of the dirty sewer pipe on top of the dirt pile (see picture) The smell was pretty bad.

I asked the tech to have the debris removed and the dirt pile consolidated and graded to the point where it will settle evenly over time. (see picture) He said that he had to leave, but that Hope would call me to schedule someone else to take care of this cleanup request.

He also insisted before he left that he collect my balance due in full because if I don't, I will be in trouble when I get back to the office Red flag, and I now understand why this adamant request for payment was made.

I was never contacted to complete the worksite cleanup. I called the Hope office 3 times over the next 5 business days to get the work completed. I also sent an email with the before pictures contained in this review.  I was repeatedly assured I would be contacted by what the Hope main office called an Excavation Manager to address my concerns. Not once was ever contacted by phone as requested, or my email or text. I asked to speak with the owner, I was twice told he is too busy to speak with customers today I asked that he call or email me when available. He never did.

Frustrated, I simply did the cleanup and proper grading of the excavation site myself (see picture captioned completed) to include collecting up more sewer pipe debris that were supposed to have been removed by Hope.

I was very disappointed by the unexplained delays, the shoddy quality and timing of the work, the lack of customer service, and the poor communication and attention to detail that I experienced from Hope Plumbing of Indianapolis.

We have a 100+ year old house (like most houses in MK).  She needs someone like Jeremy from Hope who knows how to take care of the old gal! We had a new water heater + water softener installed since our old furnace was leaking.

While Hope is definitely pricey, the service is great.  You get a little biography of your plumber before they come over--for example Jeremy likes to crack dad jokes (and indeed he did).

Also, Hope was really flexible and QUICK to get the job done for us.  We really appreciate their industry knowledge and great customer service.  Although it costs a kidney, you get what you pay for.

Hands down the best plumbing company in Indianapolis.  The repair tech was there when promised and walked me through my options for a new hot water heater. I even saved money by using one of Hope's coupons! I will highly recommend to all of my friends and family When in need of a plumber.

After 20 years our Water Heater started to leak from several corroded spots. Yes, after 20 YEARS! A true work horse. The last owner left a Hope gift card, which wasn't actually used (-1 star), but it got the ball rolling. They came out the very next day since we called their after hours lines. After inspecting the leak, standing amazed by the 20 year date, it was decided that a replacement was in order. Our plumbing situation is the work of a true handyman homeowner. He used garden hose valves on our hot water diverter for the washer. Ugh. It works. Anyway, I know the story that so many say. Hope will be your most expensive quote. We didn't get to the second opinion stage, but the final price tag was anything, but cheap. After all, we got the Cadillac of water heaters to replace our old one. We also had to add a water softener. Curse you limestone!!

But honestly...

Hope was great! The whole team was super good. They worked around our handyman issues and even fixed some things that were just a little too strange. They showed up while we were at work and they were in and out before I got home. I got my tankless gas water heater, softener ,and peace of mind for another, fingers crossed, 20 years.

Ok, I also guess my hair feels softer and blah blah appliances will last longer. It is pretty easy to feel burned by a service that costs a ton of money (but, like, why leave the gift card??). That's no reason to slight the team that does you the service. I'll use hope again and again.

I purchased a new water softener to replace our old one. The old one has been removed and the new one is in place. I just needed someone to reconnect new water lines to the new softener. Their quote? $1000. And they even tried to justify how that's a reasonable price.

Yep. Still 5 stars, 5 years later.

Hope Plumbing is our absolute go-to for all things plumbing. This old house needs a special kind of love - the kind of love that Hope Plumbing gives freely.  I was pumped to be able to entertain Tyler M. (Hope Employee extraordinaire) for the past 2 days while he went above and beyond to address multiple plumbing issues in our home. From my first frantic call to schedule until Tyler walked out the door, communication and professionalism has been a common thread.  I always knew what to expect and when - the work was top notch  - and the price was fair.  We will never hesitate to call on Hope for all future needs.

You get confirmation emails and texts along with an amazing bio of the professional they are sending to your home before they arrive.  It's the little touches that just make me trust Hope SO MUCH. I rarely get this excited about dropping money on pipes, so it has to be real.

Do. Not. Hesitate.  Call Hope Plumbing!!

I called Hope plumbing and stated I needed a service call on my dishwasher, at no time did the dispatcher tell me that they do not repair dishwashers. She told me they would send out a plumber. When the plumber came in to my home I stated that I thought there was something wrong with my dishwasher it was collecting water on the bottom and was not draining. To my surprise he said we don't repair dishwashers WHAT?? why would the dispatcher not tell me that on the phone?? He said must be a clog in the line and for $832.00 later said I was good to go. Next morning water in the dishwasher once again. Called Hope back and when I told her that the problem was not  fixed she said must be the dishwasher. They sent the same guy out who fixed my line to the dishwasher had they  told me in the beginning they do not repair dishwashers I would have called someone else.  I feel I was ripped off for $832.00 when the repair the plumber did the second time would have been much cheaper had they in fact told me THEY D NOT REPAIR DISHWASHERS. Thinking about small claims court to get back money I did not need to spend.

We had Hope come fix a leaky toilet wax seal. They discovered our old house had some wacky shortcuts taken over the years and explained the situation to us very plainly and clearly so we could understand the situation. At first they predicted it would take about 4hrs to complete the job, but it turned into a project spanning 3 days and having 2 plumbers working in tandem to replace a large cast iron drain junction and reinforce the structural connection to the house.

At the end of the job we were charged the same price they quoted at the beginning, despite the work being more involved than they predicted. Throughout the work the plumbers were professional and communicated well. I feel like they took great care of us and our house, and were good at adapting their plans to get our house back to working order as fast as possible (the first plumber working with us was involved in a car accident and they had to call in alternates to finish the job).

This company is horrendous and should be shut down. They knowingly overcharged us more than the estimate and then took months to refund us. We called and called and got the run around before they finally gave us back the overcharge. Bonus part was that the piping work they did collapsed because of how shoddy it was done and we had to pay another company to completely redo the project. They sent two inexperienced plumbing students to do a huge project that in the end had to be redone. Hope Plumbing is predatory.

I have only used Hope once, but we called on a Sunday evening, spoke to a real person and they had someone out first thing Monday.

Everyone was upfront about costs and I understood what was going on from the tech we worked with. They provided a high end option and a get it fixed quick option and a few in between, so I felt like we could pick what is right for our home and budget!

I would work with them again but HOPE I don't have to!

I hired Hope to move shower plumbing in our bathroom.  I checked on their progress about 2/3 way through the day, and realized they were not placing the new plumbing in the agreed upon locations based upon measurements.  The plumber started coming up with different reasons (conflicting) on why he had done what he did.  I wound up asking him to leave and to speak with a supervisor.
They then sent the same technician out the next day to re-do the work. Still wasn't done correctly.
About a week and a half later I was awakened to the sound of water flooding my basement.  The connection he made to my existing piping had failed.  I will spare you the details in getting someone out to deal with the situation, but was essentially told they would have to work me in because I didn't have a scheduled appointment.
Customer service manager came out to the house and sent a water remediation team to come clean up the water, and said he would reach out in the next week to work on compensation for my damages.  It has been more than two months and no word.
Every company makes mistakes from time to time, it is how they deal with them that separates excellent providers from poor ones.  My experience with Hope has shown them to be in the poor category.

I had chosen Hope based on their up front pricing.  Only to find out they aren't very up front with how they come up with the prices.  They say they use flat rate prices and hide the break down of their costs under one Priceline.  Never specifically telling you how they got to that number.  Prices are hugely inflated.  They will tell you this to your face:  'We aren't the cheapest, but we certainly aren't the most expensive.'  That's word for word what they will tell you if you call them on their prices.  There are far cheaper options out there for the same quality of work.

We had a gas leak in our home and a faulty water heater that needed replacing. Hope Plumbing was able to get us what we needed quickly, efficiently, and with great service. Their technician Matt was extremely helpful and was able to answer any questions we had while trying to find ways to make the repairs more affordable for us. We will certainly be using their services again in the future and I highly recommend them to anyone who has plumbing issues whether they are emergencies or not. Hope is extremely reliable and very responsive with great technicians.

While they were running very behind, they let me know ASAP. Plumber was very pleasant and thorough. Gave me a bid for work, and set up appointment. A day later, decided not to make the improvement, after all, go a different route. I called to cancel, and rep was very understanding, and declined my offer to pay for the estimate. I'm sure I'll need a plumber in the future, and I'll be calling Hope.

Well....second time out and I think the technician fixed the issue however he created another one that I just spent an hour fixing and cleaning up.  After snaking my pipes he didn't put the drain hose from my washer back into the drain.  I started my washer and thankfully didn't leave the house or go to bed because suddenly I heard water flowing onto the floor.  I rushed to the laundry room to find the hose not replaced in the drain and water flowing from the hose onto the floor in he laundry room and spreading to the kitchen.  I had to remove wet     padding from underneath my washer and dryer and mop up water and then move out my fridge and stove to clean up water that had spread into the kitchen.  I  am hopeful that the pads under my flooring didn't get wet so that I don't get warped floors.  While everyone from Hope has been nice, you're 0 for 2 in competent technicians.

The first technician that came out attempted to fix one of the two issues I stated over the phone and in person, but did not address the second issue and told me to call if it happened again (which water puddled in garage the next day) Like I stated above, everyone was nice and respectful, however lacked all attention to detail, and effort toward fixing the problems. (Dirty washer and floor from snaking ...etc)

We felt the pricing was very misleading. It was $89 for a technician to just come to our home. By the time he was getting around to diagnosing the problem, we were already at around $380 just to move the toilet for inspection.

In the list of sounds you don't want to wake you up in the middle of the night is the sound of water smacking the floor as it pours through the your kitchen ceiling and down into the basement. We scrambled to find buckets and towels and then find where the water was coming from. After figuring out that water heater for our finished attic had a line that erupted, I quickly reached out to Hope Plumbing. Kara was very friendly and empathetic over the phone. Within an hour and half of reaching out, Alex was there to help us tackle this layered problem. I was grateful for the texted picture of the consultant Hope sends prior to their arrival. The money portion is never fun but it helps to have a trustworthy company on the standby during a crisis.

Had this company come out to get a bid on a new water main line.  The person that came gave a bid of $4-6000 dollars ...... seemed a bit high.  Called another plumber and contractor company to do the boring job. The local company was only $1800!!!! Trust me when I say get multiple bids for a job- they aren't honest
In their bids !!! I was sad to see how they did - the people seemed so nice.   The guy that came out kept talking about how busy they were and on and on .... So I guess this job was not needed.

Couldn't get anyone to show up. Finally Hope came to the rescue! couldn't find the leak since we shut off the water but they were very helpful. Now we wait until it leaks again and I won't shut off the water so we can follow the trail. I post this because they could have just made something up and replaced a part that didn't need replacing. While the 'issue' is resolved just yet, I appreciated the quick and polite service AND I didn't get sold repairs I didn't need.

There's HOPE in the plumbing business!

I had an outstanding experience with Hope Plumbing.  I chose Hope, after a botched experience with the company my home warranty company recommended for me.  I was searching for a service company, when I recalled that my HS classmate had a plumbing business.  How serendipitous!  Despite that long-ago connection (our twenty year reunion is approaching - WOW!) I promised myself that I would give an unbiased review of the service.

Hope plumbing was speedy, efficient, and did awesome work.  I was impressed right off the bat, by the company's fast response in scheduling an appointment.  I called for assistance on a Thursday afternoon, and the company was able to get a technician out to me, first thing that Friday morning.  I was pleasantly surprised to receive a text message that included my technician's name, a mini-biography, and his photo.  As a single woman, that extra step was so important for me.  It's super helpful to know exactly who to expect when welcoming service technicians into your home.

As far as the service itself, the technician explained exactly what my issues were, how the repair would proceed, and what I could expect.  He was able to install my new water heater on the same day, and worked quickly, quietly, and efficiently.  This experience was a 180-degree change from my last plumbing experience, and for that I will be eternally grateful.

Special thanks to my service tech, Alex and all of the Hope Plumbing team for a stress-free experience!

Quintin was out today, to fix a leaky faucet. The communication prior to his arrival was almost overwhelming; I got updates all day and I wasn't even expecting him until this afternoon! He came in, looked at the problem, listened to my concerns and then went out to his van and came back with 4 different options. Of course, I chose the simple, least expensive one, but I'm sure I'll get another chance at it - the joy of older homes.
Great job!

I had Hope Plumbing out to install a new kitchen faucet and garbage disposal (I provided the new fixtures). I was pleased with the technician and the work he did, but I ran into issues with customer service. The invoice provided after I paid was not itemized or broken down in any way - it described the services and listed the fee as one lump sum. When I asked for more details about the breakdown of pricing, I was first told that they don't do itemized invoicing and asked why I wanted to know (um, because I just spent hundreds of dollars and would like to have a better understanding of the pricing). After another exchange, I was told it was flat-rate pricing based on the tasks. There were two tasks, so I theoretically should have been given individual pricing for each of those two items. I already paid the money, and I wasn't looking for a refund. I simply wanted a better understanding of the bill. I don't think it's at all unreasonable for a customer to make this kind of request - invoices are typically itemized. It's suspicious and frustrating that I was not able to get more details from customer service.

Hope plumbing is terrible! They over charge for everything. They also do not guarantee their work. I called them to fix a drain in my basement. They looked at all the other drains in the house, but never touched the one I called about. Nor did they want to come out and look at it once I realized their mistake.

And now they want to earn my business back by arguing with me. Haha. Great job hope! You can't intimidate me for a better review. I seriously can't imagine a universe you get my business again. Especially now. I will tell everyone who listens how hope Plumbing sucks.

To clarify, I had one drain of several back up and overflow. Hope never repaired or did anything to that specific drain. Nothing. I call that useless.
Yes, I did decline your offer as the price was way too high and wasn't what I needed.

Another company came out to fix this issue and it took them less than 5 minutes. Hope wanted to charge a huge fee and do a big job when someone else could take care of it so quick and cheaply.

From the timely emails, prompt responses and on time service calls Hope plumbing exceeded expectations. Josh, our plumber, was so polite and mindful of Covid restrictions. Our repair required a bit of research to find some outdated parts and Josh took the rime to locate the parts and make a return trip to install them. We had a great experience with Hope plumbing and will not hesitate to use them again.

I cannot say enough good things about the service provided by Hope Plumbing. I had water backing up through a floor drain in the basement after heavy water use, it was getting worse and my 40ft snake wasn't finding anything. They dispatched a tech,Sean who went out about 50-60 ft, with a spade bit that given the size of my lot should have been fine. I asked him if he would hit it with a 3 root auger and he agreed that he would after an (included in original price) camera inspection to ensure there was nothing that would ensnare the auger.  A tech named Ryan came out and camera'd the line and cleared the auger use. Sean came out again ( included in original price) and ran the auger out about 70 ft. This should have been way more than enough given the small lot size,
The problem returned....I was stumped. Hope sent Ryan back out, He  pulled the manhole, checked sewer flow and prepped the camera to run all the way into the cities system. He told me he suspected the problem was deep and located the source of the stoppage... 9 ft into the street and 13ft down. He explained city responsibility and gave me some tips on reporting to the city.  Ryan provided me with great advice and his video evidence. The city ended up digging up the street and replacing my connection to the sewer main.
It's odd to write a glowing 5 star review for a company that technically didn't solve the problem, However 4 trips out and all the advice really showed me their dedication to getting it solved as best they could and going above and beyond in helping a home owner out. I would not hesitate to utilize Hope again. Ryan and Sean were professional, personal and helpful.

I was promised the giant heaping mound left in my front yard would be graded for free as part of finishing a sewer job (that they had to re-do btw). After several months, I've emailed and called with no responses. I was actually told the guys are too busy to read their emails. Seems my neighbor had the same problem. It would have been nice to establish a relationship with a reliable plumber as we have an old house with many issues. Not impressed with being totally ignored.

We were looking for an estimate for installing a tankless hot water heater.  Setting the appointment was smooth. Jeremy was on time and contacted us prior to his arrival.  Jeremy was honest with us about pricing and offered suggestions.  The reason for one star was that they wanted to charge $89.00 for an estimate.  They mentioned that the $89.00 charge would be applied to any work we had done.  We did not, however, use their services.  They waived the fee after we raised our concerns.  If my elderly mother had called for an estimate, she would have paid this ridiculous fee.  Shame on Hope plumbing for even trying to make this charge.  This is a guarantee that I will not use them in the future and will send out warnings to those wishing to use their services.

Evan Kelsay from Hope Plumbing visited our 1955 house today to remove two toilets that were original to the home and install new ones.  The work was done very neatly, professional, and looks great.  Evan called ahead of time, arrived when promised, assessed the situation gave a quote and did the work.  He is professional, knowledgeable and skilled.  Dealing with Hope Plumbing prior to working with Evan was also a very good experience from our end.  Jillian took my original call and was always pleasant and professional to deal with.   I then worked with Michael who helped us pick out the equipment.

Evan ran into one of those old house things that I run into several times on this house.  The flange for the old toilets were too high for the new toilets.  As soon as he ran into the issue, he showed us what the issue was, gave us options with prices.  We agreed that he should do the additional work to get in the new toilets.  However, even after we agreed to do the extra work, Evan kept thinking and came up with a way to install them without additional cost.  He again communicated it to us and we agreed - no extra cost needed.

We also asked about replacing our water heater at a future date.  He again provided options and prices.

Overall a good experience and we will use Hope Plumbing again - when we do, we'll be requesting Evan!

Jack H. from Hope Plumbing. No not really I don't want to reach out to you guys. You can't find me, well just last week someone from Hope called just to see if I need their service. I'm gonna make sure you guys will not auto withdraw from my account again in June for this membership. You guys overpriced. And that technician that I talked about with the low knowledge of the aerator also cracked the main shut off valve when he finally located in the yard. So it was leaking. Thank goodness Citizens replaced that with no charge. Then when he replaced the water meter inside the basement to the house shut off , he either can't figure it out or just that lucky and caused the water meter not to work so it stopped moving ever since he last touched it on Nov 11, 2020. Citizen again came out in Jan to replace a new one at no charge. After Nov. 11 there was another issue. I ended up calling Mr. Plumber and the man was knowledgeable and repair it for less than $300. Your company would probably charge $700+.

Initial quote for the job as requiring two plumbers 16 hours then they recommended tying into another line to avoid excavation and charged the same price for one person for 4 hours of actual work equating to $700 per hour. We will discourage everyone we know from ever using this company.

I came home to a gas leak in my furnace and the gas company informed I needed to have some piping replaced. Of course this was in the evening, so I assumed I would not be able to get in contact with a plumber until the morning.

However, Hope Plumbing is open until 8:00 PM. They were able to schedule my repairs for the very next day. Customer service is beyond exceptional! My husband received texts and emails with updates as to the time they would arrive at our home so he didn't have to wait around all day. There was a personal text when the technician was on the way, which included a photo and bio, so he knew exactly who was coming to our home.

Throughout the entire process, Hope was amazing! I would definitely recommend.

I had them come out to my new house last spring.  I was having fumes coming out of the sink I was very concerned about.  I thought it might be a water purification / ro unit underneath the sink. (I thoroughly explained this to the CSR over the phone).  This young kid shows up very lackadaisical, kind of kidding around.. Tells me he'll remove the water purification system (maybe an hour job) for $750.00 dollars. Which is ridiculous. I'm talking to disconnect it and cap it, nothing else.  The guy had no other suggestions whatsoever. Took my $70 bucks and sped off. Complete, utter waste of time.

(Edit: 4-10-2018 :  Found Cornwell Plumbing out of Pittsboro via my neighborhood Nextdoor site.  They did the exact job for $125. Literally took their tech 30 minutes to complete the work)

Don't get scammed.

Very disappointed. We have used Hope Plumbing in the past but not any longer. I contacted Hope Plumbing this am and was assured that someone will be out to fix/replace our faucet today. I was given a window of 9am-5pm. I received multiple texts throughout the day with updates that they will definitely be at our home today. At 4pm I called and was told that their current projects were running behind and they need to reschedule for another day. No apologizes for the inconvenience. I was told that a message was left that they won't be at our house today - I won't be calling if I received a message. I was reading some of the previous messages left on yelp and was getting anxious as the day went on and I can confirm that it has happened to me. Very disappointing.

I've used Hope plumbing a handful of times and have been pleased with their service. We've had them remove and install a new water heater, replace a spigot and address a few other leaks in our condo and home. Their customer service, starting at the initial call to schedule a service is super. The receptionists are always friendly and thorough and their service men have always been on time and explain issues in a way that I can understand. They've followed up afterward to make sure our issues were resolved. While you're never thrilled to hire a plumber, Hope makes it as easy as can be.

We had a great experience with our plumber who was knowledgeable, professional and wore proper PPE to protect himself and our family. We were able to have a quick turn around time with a response form the company along with a fast dispatch time for service which was very helpful. We would recommend this company for plumbing needs in Indy.

I am very impressed with Hope Plumbing!  I had a recent experience that was very positive!

I live in an older home in the area that has cast iron pipes that tend to clog and back up from time to time.  After recent failed attempts to unclog it ourselves, I was on the search for a plumber!

While looking around on Yelp, Hope Plumbing caught my eye because of their ratings and specialty area of older homes.  I took a chance and messaged them on Yelp; it claimed that they get back to you in 2 hours, so I thought it was worth a shot!

Within minutes of sending my message, I got a very friendly reply from Hope.  The person on the other end was so helpful and willing to set things up for me completely through Yelp messaging.  The only downside to this was that the homeowner has to be the one to make and confirm the appointment; this is the case at every other company we have hired, as well, so it was expected.  They did save the established appointment, though, just needing a simple confirmation via phone call from the owner.  Nonetheless, this is something to keep in mind if you rent.

The actual service they provided was great, as well.  My shower has never drained better than it does after having them come clear it!

TIP: I would highly suggest checking out their website because there are coupons available  (particularly a $50 off a service of $200 or more!!!).  Note that they also have a $150 voucher available on Yelp for only $100.  Great offers and deals!!!

The last, and probably most impressive thing about this company, is the text message they send you about their employee who will be coming.  We received a text message with a photo head shot of the plumber who was assigned to our case with a message sharing fun facts about him (where he is from, what he enjoys, when he will be there, etc.).  I have interacted with a number of plumbing services and have never seen this done! - I loved this, though; it gave me peace of mind knowing who I was inviting into my home.

They have been awesome to work with! They specialize in older homes and we bought a fixer upper last spring. They gave us several price range solutions and were always proactive and upfront with us every step of the way! Strongly suggest that if you need any plumbing work done, consider Hope Plumbing!

Worthless liars. YELP reviews deceive. I called on Monday,
couldn't get an appointment that day; scheduled for
Tuesday, waited all day, got a phone call about 4PM --
Cannot come today. -- Obviously they prioritized me to the
bottom even though I have an 83 year old mother coming
home today from the hospital and it's her bedroom bath that
needs to be fixed. Thanks a lot you worthless lying pieces of

Hope Plumbing did an excellent job keeping us informed of technician schedules and once our tech, Heidi, was on site she absolutely went above and beyond to explain everything to us. Not only did she fix our plumbing leak, but she did an extensive evaluation which resulted in some much needed updates and safer temperatures of water for our family. I recommend the company and especially recommend Heidi for future work.

One feature we appreciated was the text message in advance of the service call with a photo of Heidi so we knew exactly who to expect a knock from on our door. This day in age, that type of thorough security measure should be appreciated by all!

They were polite and great at communicating when their technicians would arrive. However like many others have pointed out their quotes are grossly inflated.

When I called to schedule an appointment the person I spoke with on the phone said it would be $89 to have someone come out and take a look but we could apply the fee towards the work if we decided to move forward. After our technician visited today, we not only received quotes for items that we didn't ask about (sump pump) but the work we did request was quoted as a worst case scenario. Why would that be if you physically came out and looked at the work we are asking for ? Then when I decided not to go with the quotes the $89 was $135 because be had to get a tape measure and Measure ? To add insult to injury, the website claims free diagnostics very confused as to how anyone would know that there were extra charges for taking measurements or any other extra steps to provide a quote that isn't an actual quote. The technician mentioned we could call back if we got a better price and they could work with us ... yeah definitely not going to waste my time. I'm already out $135.

I contacted Hope Plumbing based on their high praise and reviews on the Nextdoor app. The positive experience I had with this company mirrored what I had previously read.

Their customer service and communication was top notch. They were friendly and helpful in scheduling the appointment and updated me through the day to narrow the timeframe of when the technician would arrive.

In addition, 30 minutes before the appointment, I received a follow-up text including the name and photo of the technician who I could expect. What a fantastic way to help people feel safe and confident in who they hired.

The technician Freddy Luna was extremely knowledgeable, informational and pleasant. He was kind and patient in answering questions and explaining the steps/process he was taking. I was grateful for the information and tips he shared.

I highly recommend Hope Plumbing.

My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better experience from Hope Plumbing. Our home was built in 1952 and the previous owners rigged a lot of things (to make them just barely work) in the home including some of the plumbing. Our technician, Alex was knowledgeable, efficient, and very kind. He replaced our water heater quickly and came back several days later to evaluate why the water pressure in our shower was low. He diagnosed the problem, got parts, and completed the job same day within a few hours. Our shower has more water pressure than we ever knew was possible in the 8 years we have lived in our home! Thank you, Alex and Hope Plumbing! We have recommended Hope to friends and family, and would recommend them to anyone.

An excellent local plumber is infinitely better than having a big box company install equipment. Thank you, Hope Plumbing!

It can be hard to tell who to trust when picking a plumber--we just bought our house a month ago, and have seen the whole range of scam artists. Hope Plumbing has been honest with me, and not tried to scare me into purchasing repairs that may not be necessary.

I live in a Broad Ripple house built in the 1920's, and Hope really understands older homes. Previous plumbers told me I would need to replace my entire sewage line (costing around $12,000), but Hope was able to clear the line for under $500.

Huge plus is their general responsiveness and their complete lack of condescension. Will definitely be calling them every year to clear the sewage line, and they will be first on my list if I do end up needing to replace the entire line.

Hope Plumbing has done work for us on many occasions, and they have always done a great job. From clogged drains to replacement shower faucets or kitchen sinks, they have always been reliable.

Jim, in particular, has done a lot of great work for us recently, and is also patient with our kids, who are curious about the plumbing work.

Leon Hiepner also did a nice job replacing a broken hose bibb.

This was our second time working with Jim, and we'll always go straight to Hope Plumbing and Jim specifically when we need help!

He came out and put together a ton of estimates for us, talked through some different interesting stuff he found in our crawl space, explained everything clearly, and then got the job done fast. He went above and beyond and even moved a pipe over that was right in the way of our crawl space entrance just to help us out.

We also love how community-minded Hope Plumbing is. They were sponsors of our community garden's first neighborhood garden bike tour last summer, and it seems they are always finding ways to give back to the neighborhood. Thanks, Jim and Hope Plumbing!

No Nonsense, just done right!
After a serious problem with our internal plumbing, I called Hope Plumbing hoping to get a good job done reasonably.  Well, long story, short, I DID!  From the first phone call I made, through the quoting, to the finishing and clean up of the crawlspace (sorry guys) and back yard, I have nothing but High Regards and Hope the best for the company who specializes on Older homes, like Mine.  I hope the best to Mr. Tingle and Travis for the hard work that they performed.  I will highly recommend them to anyone without regrets.  I asked for the job to be done right, and that is exactly what I got, a job done right and timely. Thank You!  Hope for the best and you'll get it!

I'm giving 3 stars because the technician, Heidi, was great.  She worked with skill and was very friendly and courteous. She even went out of her way to help me get my furnace out of 3 of standing water.

I did think their price was on the high end but I didn't price shop because of time constraints.

They did charge a $69 fee just to come inspect. They wave that if you use them.

They offer a 6 hour window for appointments.   Very inconvenient.  We'll be there sometime between Noon and 6 pm. Required me to take the whole afternoon off work.  When they came at 5, they didn't have a replacement pump and their supply house was shut so I had to make arrangements to have someone there from noon to 6 the next day.

The sump pump replacement went fine.  However the drain goes outside, so the water seeps in the ground and runs back in my basement foundation.  Not their fault that the foundation leaks.  But as they advertise they specialize in older homes, I wish I could have known about the issue before I shelled out nearly $700 for the repair. I thought I had previously addressed this problem with another plumber who rerouted the drain to my sewer drain, but I must have been wrong.

I had used them once before years ago.  The owner came and quoted installation of a water heater and water softener.  He was super friendly and knowledgeable.  When the crew came to perform the work, they stated that much of the work that was quoted was going to cost more.  Out of frustration and lack of resources I agreed just to have the minimum performed even though we had been told much more would be included in the quote. I didn't call back to argue at the time as I hate confrontation. One of the issues not fixed back then was the sump drain running outside.

So overall I find the company somewhat pricey.  I'll hesitate to fully recommend them since both times I've used them, my problem was only partially resolved.   My complaint is that I hired a company that specializes in old houses because I wanted a professional who could address my issues appropriately.  Both times they performed quality work, but it didn't fully solve the problem.

My review emcompasses 2 completely different experiences with this company.  I hired the company to do some interior plumbing tweaks that I thought was overpriced a bit but they were friendly and the guy did a good job.

Had a sewer line issue.  The guys that worked on it did great and were very helpful and friendly even though they got their 40 foot snake stuck in my line.  We knew then we needed to get a camera in the next day to understand our options and what our plan forward will be.  The guys said the expert coming tomorrow will be able to answer all my questions, find out what the issue is, and give me options.  That was great.

Next day the expert comes out.  I put expert in quotes because really it was some millennial sales kid that obviously came to see how much money he could squeeze out of me to up his (i assume) commission.  Here we go:

First, he got the camera stuck and immediately quit and said we need to redo the entire line and tear up my driveway and it would costs somewhere between 5k and 20k...and actually seemed to expect me just to say do it.  I had to talk him into trying the camera again since the day before they were convinced the problem was 40 feet out and this guy got the camera stuck at 10 feet and quit.  So in fact he was able to get the camera the full 40 feet by trying again.

Second, the expert immediately started selling a complete sewer line replacement....without even telling me exactly what was going on or presenting me with other options.  I had to talk him thru a problem solving exercise and a different line of thinking to get any options out of him other than using my emergency sewer issue to his advantage.

Now we agree to do a dig and replace from the problem spot to the street.  Basically it was going to be X amount to do the job.  I agreed, and asked several times repeating myself to make sure we are clear on the x amount which was significant amount of money.  After about 10 minutes that amount changed.  Instead of it being the price X which we talked about several times to a repetitive amount, now that was the price for just for first day of work.  The REAL price is double that.  So either I am just clueless or..when you hire someone to fix a sewer line that is out...why would I only want to know what it costs for 1 day versus the total cost to me to get it working?  It was again his lame attempt at increasing his commission.

At this point, I felt I had no other options and agreed.  He said they have no interest financing they use for 12 months with a third party company.  Not true.  As we agreed on the work and cost and filled out the financing on his ipad, it was time to click ACCEPT the terms of the third party financing.  First, the amount I entered which matched the cost mysteriously now is 1k more.  Second, the terms were 24 months at 24.99% interest???  I have great credit and told him no way to I agree to this and refused to accept.  We call the third party lender and the lender and this guy try to convince me that those aren't the terms of the loan just the terms if I don't pay on time.  But on the screen it says, Loan Terms.

In the end, I got the entire run repaired by another company for less than the amount he quoted for 1 day of partial work.  They did the entire deal in 1 day, didn't need to tear up driveway, and even removed the snake line that Hope left at my house with no plans to ever get it and remove it.  Maybe they thought at that point they used that as leverage to try and get the big job.  Fortunately I was able to spot their BS and find another option that I am super happy with and was up and running in no time.

This company has some knowledgeable plumbers that did a good job, but I feel they overcharge and have a horrible sales/expert that will prevent me from trusting them in the future.

As a first time homeowner, it is definitely stressful when plumbing issues arise. I had noticed some drainage in my basement from a sewer pipe and called Hope Plumbing immediately on a Saturday night. They sent a technician out (Jeremy) and he arrived within about a half an hour. Unfortunately, the drain was not fixable at this point. However, Jeremy tried his best and spent over 2 hours working on the issue.

Hope Plumbing sent a second technician (Ryan) out on Monday at 8am. They were very timely and Ryan inspected the drains with a camera and noted that the main sewer line would need to be replaced. I knew this was going to be expensive, but Ryan explained all of the options and ensured my dad and I that the issue could be fixed the following day. This was a relief as I really did not want to wait a long time for a new sewer drain system.

On Tuesday, technician Robert arrived at my home around 9am. I had to work all day, so my dad was able to handle any issues that may arise and oversee the project. He said Robert was extremely efficient and knowledgeable about replacing the sewer line system. He completed the project around 4:30pm the same day! I was extremely impressed and pleased with the outcome.

Overall, I highly recommend Hope Plumbing for any drain or plumbing issues. They specialize in older homes and were very professional and prompt. Kara (in the office) was also great and helped ensure that this was a speedy process. Hope Plumbing also offers a 12 month payment plan to relieve some of the financial stress. Thank you Hope Plumbing for your great work and service!

He explained what he was doing and why and made certain to clean up behind the work he completed.

Their was a small surprise, that required a bit more work and $$$, but Leon was able to work with me on a fair price for the unexpected added work.

Had a problem with a clogged kitchen sink. They are getting a one star only because they came out the same day. Jeremy snaked the drain 2 times and said he couldn't get through and I was charged $243.10 for a problem that was not fixed. He said a technician would be out the following day to talk about new piping. The following day the technician gave a quote of $1250.00 and would have to remove some ceiling tiles in the basement  but that price did not include replacing them. I had someone come out from May Plumbing (Sam) He also snaked the drain and fixed the problem in 10 minutes for a price of $179.00. He said the plumber from Hope was going through a vent and the technician from Hope agreed after he found out it was repaired. $243.10 for a service call is ridiculous.

I had noticed water dripping onto my downstairs ceiling from an upstairs toilet and was a bit unnerved. I called Hope Plumbing, who I had found through an online search and read a few reviews. They did not disappoint.

They were able to work within my schedule, which was very important for me as I had a few days off around Christmas. And when there was a scheduling conflict because a job went longer than expected, Hope kept me informed the whole day and charged me less for the trip charge since the technician could not make it within the agreed upon time window.

When the Technician did arrive, he reassured me that it would most likely be a simple fix and presented me with a few options to either have the toilet replaced or just repair the seal. There was no pressure one way or the other. I chose just to repair the seal and the technician had the job done within the hour.

The only bad thing is that I couldn't convince him to paint the ceiling for me. :)  Go with Hope for your plumbing needs, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We have a 16-year-old toilet that needed a new flush valve. After Benjamin Franklin plumbing failed to show the first time we called them, came without the necessary parts ( we had provided the manufacturer AND part number) the second time we called, then came back two days later without the correct flush valve, our daughter suggested we call Hope Plumbing, which she had used. Their employee Jeremy was at our home within an hour of our call and fixed the toilet promptly. Hope confirmed the appointment via text and email, sent another text when they dispatched Jeremy, and were entirely efficient.

I was really impressed, and I will absolutely use Hope Plumbing for my future plumbing needs.

I requested a quote online via yelp and was messaged to CALL for a quote.  And the estimate fee would be waived.  I called for the quote and was told they do not offer quotes or estimates over the phone. Hope should remove the quote option from yelp then. Was also told I cant get an estimate or even an idea of a starting price over the phone which was annoying.  So I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Made the appointment and was told anytime between 8am and 6pm I think.  I mean sheesh, that's a very wide window.  Luckily Jeremy arrived earlier in the day around 9a I think.  I needed a brand new toilet I had to be installed and the old toiled removed/haul away.  I was BLOWN AWAY by the price he gave me $358!!! Almost $200 more than some estimates I got before. But since he was already there I went ahead with the service.  Luckily I purchased two of the yelp deals ($100 for $150) which was yet another hassle to use.  It was as if I was being a bother to ask about the yelp deal.  The tech had to go out and call in to ask about the coupon, then had to call in to ask if I could purchase two (the details on the deal clearly says I can purchase up to 3).  so thankfully I paid $258 instead, which is still absurd to me.  After I purchased them I had to wait for Hope Plumbing to show receipt from yelp.  I screen shotted the purchases and all.  It was just not a seamless process.  Jeremy offered to come back another day once Hope received confirmation of the yelp deal purchase.
But no way.  I was off work that day. so he agreed to stay and wait. Again the only reason I went through with it was because it was one of the few days I had off work and had been procrastinating about the project for a year.  The job itself was done well.  It was just a toilet replaced. But was a hassle and grossly overpriced I think.

WORST. PLUMBING. COMPANY. EVER.  I hired them to clean a sink drain on 4 different properties and they couldn't unclog the drain on a single one of them.  They told me on each of them that the lines were in too bad of shape to clean them out.  So, I called four of their competitors and ALL four of them were able to clean out the clog with no problem at all.  On the last one, I sat across the street and watched him...he was in and out in less than 5 minutes, and that included taking his equipment out of the van and putting it back in.  When I complained to Hope, they acted like everything was my fault.  They said I needed to replace the drain line and wanted to quote me to have them all repaired.  They couldn't explain why all of the other plumbers could make the repair, but they couldn't.  They also couldn't explain why one of the lines they said needed repair was already brand new and in perfect shape.  Later, I had them quote unclogging a main drain at a small commercial property...again their response was that the line was in bad shape and they quoted me $7500 to make the repair.  I called another one of their competitors...it cost me $500 for the repair and it words great.  They have no idea what they are doing and if you complain, you get nothing but excuses...and EVERYTHING is always the customers fault, no matter what the issue is.

We are grateful for the excellent service and professionalism we receive from Hope Plumbing. A few months ago, we needed our laundry drain cleared. We live in an older home that was built in 1957 and we'd been having drain issues on and off almost since we moved in over 20 years ago. When Jonathan came and he went in our crawl space, took photos of the issues we were looking at, it turned out much of our drains were corroded and had been leaking in the crawl space. We also needed our sump pump replaced and Jonathan and his helper were excellent, very professional and did a wonderful job of replacing all our drain pipes. A big job, yes, but they did a great job and explained everything. Knowing we wouldn't want another company servicing us for our plumbing needs, we decided to join their membership plan which also offers members cost savings and other perks.

Today, since they were offering a special, we scheduled to have our hot water tank flushed. Jeremy came to our home today and was very pleasant and professional. He was also very helpful and noted a few things that would help us in the future. He also gave us a coupon to save us $25 on our next service call! We will always use Hope Plumbing for our plumbing service and recommend them to anyone that is looking for a good plumber. You can't go wrong!

The job required installing new plumbing onto original 1922 galvanized steel pipes and cast iron drains for a bathroom renovation.  When the plumber tried to mate a galvanized steel pipe with a new pex pipe, the connection burst apart that very same night causing a lot of flooding and water damage. They then gave us the run around on the water and damage cleanup which could have been a LOT worse if we had not heard the pipes explode in the middle of the night and turned off the water.  They then outsourced the clean up to Midwest who accused us of stealing one of their blow dryers. The plumber also upsold us a new modern washer drain which we really did not need  and he proceeded to rip out an original beautiful 2 inch copper drain along with ripping out a portion of the stucco wall to install the new cheesey washer drain - with no plan, concern or knowledge on how to properly intall, or patch the stucco wall they ripped up. These new style drains are not fit for a thicker than standard stucco walls. So it still looks ripped up and terrible and we lost our beautiful copper drain.
We have a 1922 house and trusted them with their claim of Old house expertise but they sent a guy that did not seem to know how to make a reliable connection from galvanized steel  into pex. He also used all clear pex instead of color coded red and blue pex with a smaller pipe size which restricted the water flow. After the job started standard expectations like color coded pex of the same pipe size as the galvanized steel were upgrades. The plumber they sent was very cocky and rude about our concerns. I think they are probably a good company but are growing too fast and not being careful enough with their new hires. One time you might get a good plumber and the next time a cocky newby that has no clue how to work on old plumbing.  I can't take the chance on them again.  I appreciate their offer to try and win my business back but not sure how they can since they did permanent damage to our stucco wall which is still not fixed and when it is a roll of the dice of what quality of plumber they send out.

We engaged this company through an Angies List coupon. Be sure to read the fine print!
Originally scheduled the work between 8:00 and noon, to replace the guts of a leaky toilet. The Plumber arrived at 5:05 pm, looked at the toilet and said he needed a part (which I had tole the customer service rep originally) and that he would need to comeback because the supply store was now closed. Duh!
Then he asked for a $70 trip charge for his visit. When I expressed my dismay, having already paid for a coupon, he said it would be refunded when they did the work. I asked how much my total bill would be he told me $259.00 (to replace the guts of a toilet???)
I informed his that I wasn't happy and he said he'd have his supervisor call. Supervisor never did!
I ended up ordering $14 worth of parts on amazon and completed the job in 10 minutes.
This company is a RIP OFF. beware!

Hope Plumbing is the most professional plumbing company I've ever dealt with!

My wife and I live in a 90-year-old home, and we had a clogged kitchen sink that needed professional attention. After attempting to have it fixed by three different plumbing companies assigned to us by our home warranty company, we decided to contact Hope Plumbing on our own.  We're so glad we did!

Nate Joyce came to our home and took the time to accurately diagnose the issues with our sink. He was extremely kind and professional, and he explained why our sink was not working properly so that we could make an informed decision about what type of work we wanted him to perform.

Over a week later, our sink is working wonderfully. The next time we have a plumbing issue, we'll call Hope Plumbing first.

Just spent the day waiting around for Hope Plumbing to show up after scheduling them 3 days in advance.  They confirmed my appointment and sent texts all day to confirm that they would be arriving by the end of the day.  I called them around 1:00pm and they assured me that they would be there before 5:00pm.  When I called them at 4:30pm, I was put on hold and then told that they were too busy and wouldn't be able to make it out to me today and wanted me to reschedule...no thank you.  Don't take an appointment and tell me all day that you are going to be there and then just not show up.  Now I have to find another plumber after wasting 4 days thinking I had someone that could handle the job.

I am picky about services I pay for.  My experience with plumbing companies is not, well, wonderful!  However, in the space of a couple of weeks I have had two issues that I needed to address with my kitchen plumbing.  In both cases, the technician (Justin) arrived exactly on time, got right to work, gave me options, made the repairs and described to me at the end why he did what he did.  I noticed that he is a careful listener as I tried to describe the problem without knowing the technical jargon.  One thing I especially appreciated was the e-mail with the technician's picture that was sent about a half hour before he arrived.  It gave me confidence to know who would be entering my space.  And, I felt as though the price was more than reasonable.  I hope I don't need a plumber anytime soon.  But if I do (and this house of mine is old!) I will know to call Hope.

This is an update for my review of Hope Plumbing which I posted yesterday.  This is AFTER having 4 plumbers from 4 different companies attempt to remedy the plumbing/drain problem we are having.  After reading my YELP review yesterday, I was contacted by HOPE PLUMBING and they sent Justin Smith out.  Mr. Smith has been a long-time plumber and took the time to analyze our problem.  At one time, there was THREE Hope trucks out in front of our house.  AS it turns out, Mr. Smith analyzed the problem and what he found has serious practical problems.  He was here a good 2 hours, maybe closer to 3.  He found what the problem is and we are thankful he is intelligent and obviously superior in his knowledge of plumbing.  We am grateful that he took the time and was able to explain the problem in terms we can understand.  A sincere thank-you to Justin Smith, a stellar employee who represents Hope Plumbing well.

Love Hope Plumbing!  Fast, professional service, with a small company feel.  After I bought my fixer upper house- I immediately had Hope Plumbing come in to give me quotes on water lines, drain lines, and a new sewer line.  They did it all!

Their prices were competitive and timely.  I HATE having to wait too long for a quote.  They gave me numbers ON THE SPOT!  Few contractors do that these days.

The fellas who worked on my house were so friendly and knowledgable.  They walked me through everything they were doing, and informed me promptly of necessary change orders.

Something else they did that I appreciated was their office sent me an email letting me know when their crew was coming, what their names were, and a little bit about them.  I appreciate the thoroughness and passing of helpful information.

I will always use them as long as they continue to keep up the good work! Thanks HOPE

I had a leaky outdoor water hose issue at 5pm on a Friday night. I called Hope Plumbing and they immediately answered and had David here around 8pm. He did an outstanding job and explained step-by-step to me what he was doing. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Hope Plumbing, especially for older homes in the Broad Ripple area.

My crawl space was flooded from the rain last week due to my old sump pump going out. I found out about Hope plumbing through another company that only did waterproofing they were called Midwest Remediation(which they were very overpriced btw!!). Hope sent Jonathon out&they kept me informed via texts about timing any delays&also sent me a profile on Jon which I thought was convenient, personally thoughtful! Johnathon was very congenial, informative&professional. As for the sump pump I purchased from Hope it ran all night with no water&I have found out by going down to see the new pump that there was no float valve on there for it to detect the water level so there was nothing to indicate it to shut off&there was debris left in the pit which when installing it yesterday should have been cleaned out... Needless to say I'm still waiting on them to make it by today which I called early this morning&they said they'd send someone out to see why it had been running since being installed yesterday afternoon. Will update when there finished today.

I had this company come to my home today for an estimate. Their communication and punctuality were top notch and if it hadn't been for their dishonest plumber I probably would've used this company in the future (though not for this particular job because their quote was $800 more than the plumber who came out the day before). I had a leak in my water meter pit so the plumber drained all the water to assess it. It was clear where the leak was coming from and I told him that the water company had been unable to tighten it so they said it needed to be replaced. It was a drip drop of water when he came, similar to a leaky faucet, but by the time he left that drip was now a constant stream of water. He explained to me that the meter and valve were very corroded and he would need to replace it all. Okay, that's certainly understandable! He told me the cost would be $1317 and asked if I'd like to proceed. I told him that was not in my budget but thanks anyway. Well for whatever reason he goes back into the pit and starts over tightening the screw/bolt until BAM, what do you know, that drip has turned into water shooting all over the place because he stripped the bolt! He then stands up and says we have financing options available. I can't believe for one minute that a plumber didn't have the common sense to not fumble with an already leaking, already corroded bolt. Hmm, seems to me like someone wanted to force my hand to go forward with the work. Well I still declined but was in total disbelief at what he had so obviously done to sabotage me. He then spoke with a manager and offered to do the job for $998 if I did the work today. I still said no, at this point my mind was made up to NEVER use this company. He offered to shut the water off completely to stop the leak until I could get it fixed and suggested I simply turn it on when I needed it then off again. If he knew I'd have to do that, explain to me why he tightened the lid on the pit to where I could not get into it without a tool? So now I'm in the house all day with my children and no way to turn my water back on until my husband gets off. In closing, the plumber sent to my house today has me writing this review to suggest no one uses this company.  Update: I had another plumber out today who confirmed that someone stripped the bolt. I'm very upset that I ever called this company because that stripped bolt now means my previous quote has increased.

Top notch communication, good people

I had Ben S.from Hope plumbing come out and clear a slow drain that the first company failed to fix.  I was really impressed at the communication from Hope.  They called me every 2 hours to give me updates on when they'd be here.  Ben was a nice guy and got the job done and cleaned up after himself.

They didn't make it the first day I scheduled, but it wasn't urgent.  I think that Their prices were pretty high, but I think I'd have them back because they're pros.

This is anonymous.  I payed for service that was done wrong with and made to wait for three days to fix it.  When I complained I was given 10% off my next service which was quite about 600 to cap two pipes.  It took me less then 10 min and less than 20 on supplies.  They will rip you off if you give them the opportunity.  I threw away money with this company should have  have done my research.

I recently used Hope plumbing and was very satisfied with their service. My technician Leon Hiepner was very courteous and professional. I called for service on a Tuesday and they showed up on a Wednesday and took care of my problem very efficiently. The office kept in touch with me and let me know their approximate arrival time and updated me throughout the morning as their schedule fluctuated. I also received a text message prior to Leon's arrival letting me know he was due to arrive shortly with his picture which made it easy to identify him at that time. Of course the big truck was a giveaway but it was nice that they let me know who was about to arrive at my house.

I had a tremendous and positive experience with Hope plumbing. I had a leaky pipe located in a very narrow crawlspace in a home that was 125 years old. They scheduled me right away and the technician arrived at my door within less than two hours. The technician, Freddy was gracious, knowledgeable and made sure I understood what needed to be done. After he completed the job he appeared with a smile covered in dirt and cobwebs from what I would describe as a nasty crawlspace and showed me photos he had taken so I could see his work without having to go there.
I used the coupon from Yelp which he honored.
I would heartily recommend this company to anyone having a plumbing need.

I called hope to give me a price on a bathroom remodel, they missed the first appointment! We rescheduled for another day and they gave me a four hour window, so when he showed up an hour late from that I wasn't that happy! So when they charged me for a service call I really wasn't happy! He didn't do anything just looked at my bathroom and gave me an outrageous price! I will never call them again and you shouldn't either! What a waste of money

We've had Hope Plumbing out a couple of times, and it's always been a great experience. Today we had them out to do some major replumbing for a bathroom remodel. Leon Hiepner was the plumber, and we recommend him highly. He took a look at our situation, explained various solutions and their cost, and worked diligently on the final choice. He had to work in the crawl space as well as above ground, it did it all without tracking dirt around. We are pleased with the finished project, and recommend Hope Plumbing for your job.

I'll keep this mostly brief; didn't show up when they were scheduled, had issues with some of the work, and they were expensive. Quality Plumbing work is expensive no matter who you use. The majority of the work they completed was fine, but they over complicate the work to pad the quote and make the job more expensive. Ultimately it's about value and craftsmanship, there was no value or long term savings realized by the higher rates they charge. I can not recommend this company and do not plan on using them again.

Polite, professional, timely, and knowledgeable.  All things that you should look for in a plumber.  The Hope Plumbing team is my go-to plumber for older homes.  They've helped me out of a couple of binds (Broad Ripple basement flooding and coming home to frozen pipes!) and educated me through the process.  Education for a first time homeowner was incredibly helpful.  You never want to have to call a plumber but if you do, it should be Hope Plumbing.  I should also mention that they are very involved in the community.  I 100% get behind local companies that make it a point and a passion to give back to the community that they serve and live in.

I had an awesome experience with Hope Plumbing. My plumbing backed up due to certain products getting flushed down that shouldn't. At first, I utilized my home warranty, and a predetermined service provider was sent out to fix the problem. They made a pretty big mess in my basement and didn't end up fixing the problem. I then called Hope Plumbing, and they sent Joel out. Joel was on time, easy to communicate with, and just fantastic overall! He snaked the plumbing again, cleared out the offending materials, informed me of the state of my overall plumbing (house was built in 1905 but remodeled about 9 years ago), made some valuable recommendations for the future, and the price was more than reasonable.

I had a severely blocked drain. Hope came out to snake it and found mud in the drain. The drain has collapsed somewhere. After giving them $221 they said they would be back in FOUR days with a camera to find the issue. They then called 10 minutes before the appointment time to tell me they didn't have a camera that would work. How can a mistake like this happen???? I would have found a different company in the last four days instead of waiting around without a kitchen sink!!

Freddy Luna from Hope did an excellent job saving me from a completely stopped up sewer drain on a Sunday morning.  I called very late Saturday night and got the first appointment Sunday morning; Freddy was right on time.  He was very attentive, discussed the issues with me and what I had already tried to clear it, and explained what he could do along with prices.

He was completely done within 45 minutes of arriving - drain cleared, cleaned up, and took payment.  Freddy was extremely attentive to cleaning up splashes in the basement and some dirt that got on the stairs from the snake.

I even asked some questions about the particular snake he used in case I decide to get one myself, he was very helpful answering those questions too and gave me some tips for my particular cleanout if I do go that route.

I can't stress enough how good an experience this was; even Hope's phone dispatchers are very helpful, courteous, and efficient.

I normally do plumbing work myself, but this is my second time using Hope to clear a main sewer line since I don't have a snake that large.  I'll definitely use them again in the future.

We developed some plumbing issues in our house and I wanted to pick a great plumber who was knowledgeable, friendly and affordable.  I found all of that in Hope.  They came out to look at our plumbing issues and easily dealt with every one of them. They fixed dripping taps, unclogged our drains and even got our washer hooked up to drain (We had allowed the water to drain into a sink, but they installed a drain pipe for us).  I have definitely found my go-to plumber and would definitely recommend them to others.

Didn't even show up! I'd been waiting with no working kitchen (and 2 small kids) for 2 days until my appointment day - and after moving my whole schedule around to wait all day (my time frame was anytime between 8-5?!) they called around lunch time to tell me - sorry, you've been bumped..we don't have time for you today. What?!!! The man I spoke to wasn't even very apologetic - just said, well we'll try to get you in tomorrow. Yeah - no thanks. I've called someone else. And they have lost all my future business. Called to set up an appointment. Dispatcher was not able to give me any price quotes. Tech showed up and it was clear this company uses flat rate pricing which is a rip off. Don't be fooled by this tactic.  He negotiated a price with me and did sort of fix our shower valve. He then checked my tankless water heater and said it was leaking and needed a new heat exchanger. He said he was an authorized agent of the mfg. I asked him to take photos so I could submit it to warranty.  He sent 3.  When I called the factory, they said they need way more and the company should have known that.  When I called back the tech said he would only come back for $250.00.  I called back to speak with Justin and he came out to take the correct photos which was great. I then was able to get the part under warranty.   The factory said this was a 2-3 hour job.  When I called back to Juston, he quoted me $1200.  I was shocked.  He then lowered to $900 ($300 per hour) to which I declined.  Never heard back.   Needless to say, be very careful with this company.

Got off to a rocky start when apparently dealing with a new phone rep, but was overall satisfied once I dealt directly with the plumber. He arrived on time, was friendly, and quickly diagnosed my issue. Hopefully the repair performed will fix my issue (it is an intermittent one). I will update this review if not. Customer service experience so far has been great. Hopefully the good service will continue if I need them to come back out for the same problem. Fingers crossed that it has been permanently resolved though.

I'm not sure what the deal is with these guys, but their quotes were incredible. I had two toilets that wouldn't stop running, and that was it. The plumber arrived, peaked at the tank for both, and proceeded to give me a quote for just under $1000 to replace the two plastic units in the tanks. The cheapest he could do was about $400 if he opened up my units and was able to simply replace a piece or two. This was after they cancelled on me the day before. I proceeded to call the other reputable plumber in the area and a nice guy showed up and replaced both of my units for $200, in total. Be extremely careful when getting a quote from this company...

$$$ Very expensive is an understatement. Make sure to get a breakdown of their expenses before agreeing to any work. I was unable to be home and they took advantage of my wife by not quoting the work. In the end, we paid $220 for a standard faucet install (mind you a faucet we had already bought) and $360 for a garbage disposal install. In all, it was $580 for 1.5 hrs of work. Kristina, the manager deems this as an acceptable price. I have gotten quotes elsewhere and feel relieved that there are other companies out their charging substantially less. Their only form of assurance that my wife would have received the quote beforehand was that the technicians are supposed to as part of their standard practice.

Our agency previously had poor experiences with plumbers, so after perusing the web and finally coming to my senses and pulling up yelp, I came across Hope Plumbing.

I decided to give them a shot as we occupy a 100 year old building downtown Indianapolis, and we needed a quote on some repairs and some minor plumbing issues. They arrived within the hours they originally stated, which already exceeded my expectations, and the plumber was incredibly pleasant, professional and knowledgeable.

We have since used them on numerous projects and after having dealt with some of the big names in commercial plumbing I can tell you these guys are a fresh breath of air. We continue to rely on Hope Plumbing for all of our plumbing needs as they have professional staff, are sensitive to our work, and are a great value.

If you are looking for a reputable plumbing company look elsewhere than Hope Plumbing.  My experience with this company has been absolutely horrific.  I was told by the plumber Caleb who came out to inspect the problem that my job would last one day, it ended up lasting 5.  My sewer pipe had to be replaced which is a huge cost, but was reassured that it would be a one day job.  Peter Reynolds the job site manager never communicated that it would be longer.  Two days they guys showed up an hour late and I had to call Peter to find out where they were.  He reassured me that he was going to take care of me and that Hope is a reputable company, if you have to tell people that you probably are not.  From day one working with them has been a nightmare.  Peter makes more excuses for his incompetence along with his crews.  They also broke my neighbors tree and he is still waiting for them to replace it, it's been two weeks.  My sidewalk where they had to dig up was suppose to be cemented over last week and was done today, and was just left with nothing around it for anyone to walk in wet cement.  Not to mention the pile of debris that is left if the street from the cement contractors.  I can't say one good thing about Hope plumbing but if you use them just Hope you get better service,  but look elsewhere.  The owner Jack Hope when contacted could have cared less about any issues.  Awful company, awful customer service, awful representation of Indy.

I purchased a new home may 1st and on may 5th had a MAJOR plumbing issue. Working through my HSA home warranty was a disaster as they sent incompetent workers who came, looked, left and I never heard from them again. I could not use any tub or shower or toilet upstairs & had a waterfall running into my kitchen due to the problem upstairs. I called Hope Plumbing and within 2 hrs had not 1, but 2 experts at my home assessing the problem. After realizing the issue, Kevin worked literally day & night (he left my home at 1230 am) to get my plumbing redone, new toilets installed and stop the water fall in the kitchen. I've never been so impressed with the quality of the work, the customer service and my overall experience with a company. I've seen the other complaints about their pricing and honestly,  you get what you pay for. The fly-by-night company my warranty company sent me never even came back or called me after looking at the issue. I couldn't recommend this company more - I will 100% use them again, if needed!!

Had a few small leaks around the house in our half bathroom, kitchen and master bath.  Saw solid reviews on Yelp and decided to give Hope a shot. Very friendly when scheduling appointment and was scheduled promptly so I thought this was a good sign.

When the technician arrived at our home he was able to fix our problem in our half bath with no problem. But when it came to the kitchen and shower fixtures which were leaky (both Moen products). We were told these parts were not available and could not be fixed. He did take that time to try to repair the shower but it was worse when he left and I ultimately had my money refunded for this. Also, the parts that he said were not available I was able to pick up at Lowe's and order from Moen direct.

The experience was very odd, it seemed like he didn't want to work on Moen products and spoke negatively about them. Hope was nice enough, as I said to refund part of my money and offered to send a different technician to my home but at that point I could not trust any further.

Ordered the parts on my own and figured out how to make the repairs myself. May have been an isolated case but this is the type of experience that makes it difficult to trust service providers in the first place.

BEYOND disappointed.  Hope Plumbing obviously doesn't care about its customers.  I'm sitting here for the SECOND time in two months needing to call for their services.  The first time, they didn't show up in the four-hour window and had to come the next day.  Now, they just straight up didn't show again...

Hope Plumbing will waste HOURS of your time with little regard for their customers.

If you're reading this, Hope Plumbing, just know that I've received NO CALL, no indication as to how much longer I should keep waiting, and your phone number (which worked an hour ago) hangs up automatically each time I try to phone you.  Despite being promised that you wouldn't cancel on me, I have no idea where anybody is.  You stood me up.

I understand this is a service industry and there might be jobs that take a long time, resulting in back-ups elsewhere.  But why give me a four-hour window if you are going to go over it by a ton without informing me?  What good is the window to begin with?  I'd have more respect if they cancelled on me at noon.

Save your money and go elsewhere.

I've never called a plumber before, so I was worried what my experience would be like. These guys were outstanding; they showed up when they said they would, even when my schedule kept changing. They called to let me know they were on the way. They explained to me exactly what I needed and what they were doing. They got the job done quickly, and I feel I was charged a fair price. Both Jonathan and George were knowledgeable and efficient; before I knew it, they were done and cleaning up. It was such a relief, and I recommend them especially to  anyone with older plumbing. They really seemed to understand all the quirks of my antiquated pipes and drains.

Hope Plumbing recently finished installing an exterior clean-out and repairing a collapsed main drain pipe at my house in Broad Ripple. They were prompt, professional, did a good job and worked with me on price/payment. Only small item of note is that some of the old pipe/materials were left at my place after the job was completed and not hauled away. That said, it's not a big deal and I would certainly recommend them, will use them again and will refer them to others. I have a lot of experience working with contractors and I think they are certainly in the top tier.

I live in Seattle but have a rental home in Indianapolis. During the great polar vortex of 2014 where temperatures were well below zero for days, I had a pipe burst in the garage. Tenants shut off the water. I found Hope from yelp and I'm thrilled to have found my go to plumber for any future needs.

They handled my call professionally and immediately. They scheduled me into their stand-by list as they were overwhelmed with demand. (Having so much demand was actually a comfort to me - kinda like going into a busy restaurant - if they didn't have any customers it's a decent sign they aren't good plumbers).

They showed up when they said they would, completed the job quickly and efficiently, and explained the repair over the phone to me. Our tenants were very pleased with their professionalism, work, and expediency. They also didn't charge extra even though they were in super high demand (and could have).

I highly recommend them.

Really disappointed, I wish I visited their yelp website prior to calling Hope Plumbing. I was quoted over 500 dollars to replace three sections of pipe(less than 20 feet of pex) all within the same area(approx 3x12'). The technician completed the job within 90 minutes of actual work. The rest of the time, he visited the local Lowe's to pick up the materials. He said im good, I paid, He left. The job wasn't completed however, the plumber left my house without checking the entire system. There were major leaks still in my house that my contractors found a week later. I called Hope again since I signed up for their Premium Service Plan Which saved me a couple bucks on the quote,  they ended up missing the four hour window the next day completely. I called the office and they credited me 25$ towards my repairs(lol) . The repairs would cost me thousands...funny thing is, they were late AGAIN...i got a call two hours in the window I had somewhere to be at the end of the window.  I just cancelled it all.(they didn't seem to care). Trying a new plumber, Hopefully with better luck. You should to.

My only complaint is the Labor cost. I agreed to a quote of 291.00, including parts. Not knowing parts cost until I looked it up later, I feel 275.00 is very high for  45 minute job. Dishwasher Water line replacement . I realize Travel time , is money,  yet even allowing an hour for that , still high. Hopes location is about a mile from the job location , should help on travel time.

It is Christmas season. My wife is super pregnant and due in 3 weeks - so using the bathroom every 45 minutes - and our only toilet and shower stop draining properly. Terrible timing. We called the emergency service, and David H. came to the house within 1.5 hours. He was great. Super personable, and constantly making sure that my wife and I were completely satisfied. The project took much longer than both of us previously thought (which was no fault of his), but he had a great attitude the entire time. As long as Hope Plumbing continues to employ great people like David, you won't go wrong choosing them to do your work.

Although I currently reside in Brooklyn, I previously owned a home in Fishers, Indiana for over 4 years. During that time, I relied on Hope Plumbing several times.

They cleared up a massively clogged drain in the garden tub of my master bath (#curlyhairproblems) after I had tried everything (they graciously recommended) myself.

Another time they repaired the mess my grandfather accidentally created when he tried to fix my garbage disposal after a Thanksgiving potato peeling debacle that left  the pipes too loose to be effective. The cabinet under my sink ended up rotting out and the pipes had become corroded so they replaced them and rebuilt the cabinet.

These guys are professional, reliable and on call when you need them. They never made me feel stupid if my problem was overly simple or entirely preventable with a little common sense.

I highly recommend them and would still be a customer if I lived in the area.

Hope Plumbing helped us finally come to a nice solution for our antique commode, and while they wereb here they also correctly diagnosed the problem with our hot water and came back to fix that, too. They presented a range of potential solutions and I knew exactly what to expect. My tech, Leon H., was professional and efficient. I have zero knowledge of how plumbing works and he explained things so that even I could understand them. ;-) And Hope Plumbing is fantastic at keeping you informed so you know just when their techs will show up. Why would I ever call anyone else besides Hope Plumbing?

Leon and David replaced our 75 gallon hot water tank, did a great job.  Old unit was heavy with sediment and they were quite capable in hauling it up the stairs from the basement and out the door for disposal. They finished up in the expected amount of time indicated for the job, and left the space as tidy as they found it.

Technician, Jim Cummins came out in March to take a look at what appeared to be and should have been a simple fix. 1940's era toilet is likely never a straight-forward fix but we really wanted to avoid replacing the entire toilet. Nice thing about Hope is they are willing to work with you and not talk you into something you don't need! A new flapper chain and some seals and we were good to go. Until a few days later, the flapper chain was routinely sticking (causing flapper to not seat, water was running constantly) and this was unsatisfactory. It took two additional visits - both from Jim (as I requested he be the technician to solve this issue) and voila! Eventually, issue resolved! Old toilets require creative, unconventional solutions and Jim was determined to get this right. Not once did he complain about having to come back - more than one and Hope did not charge us for these subsequent visits. Reliable, trustworthy, knowledgeable service is what you expect from Hope and what you receive. I'd recommend them to others. Especially those with old fixtures and plumbing.

Like most of the reviewers, I saw great reviews on Yelp and tons of Hope signs in my neighborhood and gave them a call. We were remodeling a bathroom, and needed some pretty extensive work done. They were able to come out within a reasonable amount of time, quoted a price that seemed a bit high (but not outrageous), and finished the work within a day and a half. I had extensive conversations with the gentleman who did the work about what I needed, but unfortunately he was unable to get it done. I found an issue with their work a couple of weeks later, and I asked them to remedy it. I spoke with a manager, and his explanation of the fix made my inspector cringe. The inspector likened it to putting a band-aid on a gunshot wound. I opted to hire a different plumber to finish the job, and they pointed out another issue with the installation. To fix it would have cost thousands.

A few days later, my son is ready to take his first bath, and the drain lever was not installed properly. I had to get Hope to come back and install a new drain.

I was under the impression that they really understood older homes. I am left with a bitter taste in my mouth. They seem like the place that you really want to recommend to your friends, but after experiencing their work, I will certainly go elsewhere.

Their employees are polite, but I did not receive good plumbing service. Summary: no-one came on day they scheduled. When a plumber came the next day, he misidentified the (simple) problem, and would have cost me up to $800 without fixing anything.

Full story: I had a clogged kitchen sink, and Hope said someone would be out between 12-4 that day. They assured me it was still on schedule when I called in to check around 3pm, but after 4pm they called to say noone would come out until the next day. I was disappointed in their poor communication, but fine, they came the next morning.

Their plumber took one look at the clogged sink, didn't investigate anything, and went to his van to come up with estimates to repair the garbage disposal ($239) or replace it, (3 replacement options, going up to almost $800.)
When I asked how he could tell how much it would cost to fix the disposal when he didn't check anything out, he was polite but patronizing and said it could only be one of a few things and that was the blanket price to fix it. Then I asked how he could tell it wasn't a clogged drain, and that finally triggered more action from him: he took a better look at the sink and declared, upon further inspection, it might be a clogged drain, and went to his van to come up with an estimate for that.

Considering that he only did any investigation once I asked him questions, (and I had to deal with pushback from him), I had lost confidence in him as a plumber, so I paid the show-up fee and had him leave. Then I called Howald Plumbing, who was able to show up in less than 2 hours. Their plumber was clearly more experienced, and saw it was a clogged pipe. My sink was fixed in under an hour, and it had NOTHING to do with the garbage disposal.

I called Hope back and pointed out that if I had gone with their plumber's assessment, I would have paid a minimum of $239 and still not had a working sink! They apologized for wasting my time and refunded the show-up fee.

Everyone I spoke with at Hope was polite, and they have an extensive infrastructure in place, but their plumber was either inexperienced/poorly trained, or was trying to take advantage of me. It seems like Hope has done a good job training their employees in customer interaction, but should do a better job in their core business of plumbing.

This may have been an atypical experience for Hope, but I can't risk it -- plumbing is too important and too expensive to take chances on. Take-home: will not use Hope again.

BEWARE.  Hope Plumbing works on a 'contract' basis, not hourly.  We saw the signs around the neighborhood and called to fix a dripping shower.  Total time to fix the drop: 45 minutes.   Total bill: $231 ($163 is the standard faucet repair).   I called to check on why such a steep charge, thinking $100 would be reasonable.   It was explained that all faucet repairs are $163, plus parts.   For such a minor job I recommend going with a handyman, not Hope Plumbing.

I was really pleased with Nate's work but I was disappointed in the 'unseen' office folks making the decisions. I was quoted a price as an estimate.  I made it clear that if more of the kitchen had to be 'jack-hammered up', they'd have to stop as I wouldn't be able to pay an additional increase.  I stated this several times and no one said anything.  No additional work had to be done however and Nate was finished with the repair in about an hour and a half as not as much labor was needed.  I then asked about a decrease in price since no additional work was necessary.  He called the 'office' and relayed that NO, there would be no decrease in the cost because if it had needed more work, nothing extra would be billed.  That didn't make sense to me since it wasn't explained that way if an additional work route would have been necessary. I felt like I was getting the runaround since poor Nate was having to relay the information office helpers. I told him I would appreciate a call from the supervisor..............NEVER did get a call from anyone.. I just felt unsettled with the office explanation and the fact that they didn't have the courtesy to call me, as requested.
Am unsure if I will use them again.......honesty is important to me. .

hope plumbing was called to fix 2 outdoor faucets--connecting one to the main water line and one needed a thread adapter changed.  the estimate the work was 1400  dollars.  my social security  income could not cover the cost, so I just had Thomas connect the line to the one faucet.  Thomas  was very courteous and went right to work. I assume the work was completed well (I'm 72 yrs old and can't get into the crawl space very easily)  The faucet  works fine.   Was a little disappointed that he did not close the crawl space  panel and left the old pipe laying in the yard.

I first contacted Hope after my previous plumber referred me based on the age of the plumbing in my house. In the past they have been expensive but polite, thorough, and effective. After their last visit I purchased their maintenance agreement and today it proved to be worth every dollar. I had a mystery sink clog that caused my sink to back up into my disposal, my disposal to back up into the sink, and backflow into my dishwasher. Of course it is a Saturday so an emergency fee usually applies, but due to the maintenance agreement that fee ($125) was waived. Also due to the maintenance list, I am on a mailing list that sends me discounts on their plumbing services. I asked about this and not only did the plumber, Jim Cummins, honor it, but he found an additional discount so that my bill ended up being about half of what it could have been. Jim was polite, gave me an estimate up front, fixed the problem efficiently (do not dump unused tea leaves down the disposal, they will expand and clog it) and was able to be in and out in about half an hour. Note to people who have sink issues: things will move faster and the plumber will be happier if you already have under the sink cleared out. He thanked me for this. I would have recommended Hope regardless because of their past service and problem-solving ability but I can tell you it is 100% worth it to get their maintenance plan if you can afford to do so at all. They will apply it to the current plumbing issue you are having as well as any future issues and in an older house like mine (built in 1969) it makes a big difference. Jim did a great job and got in before a major snowstorm hit so I am grateful that Hope got him here as quickly as they could and that he was able to fix the problem.

Our water heater stopped heating immediately after a power outage and we thought, for sure, it was a small issue.  Called Hope Plumbing to come take a look.  Kurt Maynard, the plumber who was sent to help us, showed me in great detail all of the things that were awry with my 11-year-old water heater.  It was apparently on its last legs just before the power outage.  Lots of corrosion.  Thermostat was shot (I knew this because I tried around 20 times to adjust the water temp; no success).  Kurt quoted us a reasonable price on a high quality (i.e., a Rheem) water heater.  He installed it, cleaned up after himself, and arranged a no-interest payment plan (we didn't have 2K laying around at the time).  And we talked about a whole lotta stuff that had nothing to do with plumbing for over an hour after he was finished.  Such a personable fellow!  The whole company is very friendly and deeply committed to providing great service.  Just a joy to work with.  Trust me, you will not be disappointed.  Recommend them wholeheartedly!

This is the first time we have used Hope Plumbing. We needed the mixing valve for our shower replaced and drains cleared out. We were initially scheduled for service on Monday (8/20). They called in the morning to confirm, then again later to again confirm. Finally, around 3:45 in the afternoon I got a call that they weren't going to make it that day. The next morning, our tech, Leon, arrived around 8 or 8:30. He was very friendly (and played with my dog, which is always my litmus test for service people!). He got right to work. When he was done, I noticed the shower handle was backwards. He quickly switched it around and everything worked great. He provided a variety of options for our work and never tried to pressure me one way or another. While I thought the price was a bit much (~$400), I think that is probably just the price you pay for professionals. Overall, very pleased with Hope Plumbing (one star knocked off for the scheduling issues). Will likely use again.

Gas was shut off by gas company because of a leak. Called Hope & Casey was out (on a Saturday) within 30 minutes. Casey found 2 leaks one outside & one inside. He fixed the one inside & told us to call them back to fix the outside one when not paying weekend rates. We could shut the outside one off with a valve. Casey later sent me a text asking if the gas company had arrived yet and if he needed to come by. The gas company had just arrived. Casey had fixed everything & gas back on, furnace back on!  Will be using them from now on! Found them on Yelp.

I currently live in Phoenix, but I still own my house in Indy and have it rented out.  I manage this property on my own (I refuse to give a property management company 10% of the rent I receive every month), so whenever something needs repair, I have to jump into action.  There was a leak in the powder room, so I did a search on Home Advisor (my usual go-to), but they only came back with one contractor, and that company didn't have any review.  FAIL!  So I hopped onto Yelp, saw the great reviews for Hope and called them right away.  Initially I talked to Brad, and he was very helpful, and would have been able to send someone out to the house the next day.  However, I was waiting to hear back from my tenants. When I called back, Christina was very helpful and they were able to accommodate my tenants' availability!  I paid for the service over the phone with a credit card, and received a copy of the invoice via email.  I haven't heard a peep out of my tenants, so Hope must've done a good job! I'll be using them again, if needed.

I will not be using this company again for my plumbing needs.  I am sorely disappointed.  I was the victim of the cracked, underground water pipe. A situation that costs thousands to remedy. We called Hope thinking that they would be the best option since they market themselves as being experts with older homes. They were able to fix the problem but only after they charged an outrageous amount, destroyed my personal property, and ripped items off of the outside of my house leaving ugly and unseemly blemishes in the paint. I am all the more furious because my husband and I spent 2 weeks of our most recent summer painting the outside of the house. My husband was home all day and no one ever asked him to move anything or for permission to damage property. I value a company that remembers and appreciates that where they are working is also where someone is living; that this is a place where great amounts of money and time have been placed. It is not just a job it is a home. I am offended and hurt by the disrespect and the lack of compassion that this company has for its clients. As stated earlier, I will never use this company again and I recommend that others don't use it either.

I found Hope Plumbing on Yelp. Called them for a disaster plumbing issue. They were quick to come out and came in the allotted 3 hour time frame I was given. My plumber was quick and to the point. He thought my septic tank was full. He recommended a septic company on the spot and told me if it wasn't the septic tank, he would come back and take the money I paid him off the total bill. I called the septic  guy and he was here in literally 7 minutes! The septic guy dug a pretty expensive hole in my backyard (to find my tank) and discovered the tank wasn't the problem. Hope Plumbing came out again the following day, on time, and immediately unclogged my pipe (tree roots). He had my plumbing working immediately and even offered to check out one of my showers that drains slow. When it came time to pay the rest of what I owed, my plumber told me there was no charge since he initially diagnosed the issue wrong. Hope Plumbing was efficient, honest, fair, and awesome! I'll definitely be calling them again!
