United Heating and Plumbing is a locally owned HVAC and Plumbing company serving Cincinnati, Dayton and the surrounding communities. We have 20 years experience in this industry, and we have been in business since 1998. We are family owned, and as a smaller company we're committed to excellent service and honest, fair pricing. We are State Licensed in HVAC and Plumbing, and have all the required insurance, workers comp, and bonding. We're BBB accredited, and are members of professional trade organizations to advance our training and knowledge of emerging technologies.

This is Matt, the owner, so I'll speak in the first person if you don't mind. We're a very small company and I'm quite involved in the day to day operation. I'm State Licensed (License 22147. Feel free to look it up) in HVAC. Plumbing and Electrical and have been for 20 years, I/we take customer service seriously and have been fortunate in developing excellent relationships with our customers. I/we stand behind our work. We'd like to think I/we run an honest, fair and transparent business. I'd be pleased to provide references.We're available to DIYers even if it's to pull you out of the weeds by answering some questions. So call anytime for whatever your needs.

Called at 7:15am and owner Matt answered. He said he could send Scott out today and was able to work with my schedule. In 15 minutes the issue was repaired and everything cleaned up. Great service, I will keep this company on speed dial!

During the recent freeze I experienced frozen water lines at one of my rental properties.  After discovering the bad news, I called Matt at United Heating & plumbing on Sunday not expecting anyone to answer but to leave a message for service.  Matt actually answered the phone and said he was open and could do the repair the same day, I was like, wow that's pretty incredible considering how busy plumbers must be.. So, about 90 minutes later, Matt called and gave me a very reasonable estimate and performed the repairs right then.  This was the first time I used this company and called because of the great reviews on Yelp!  I couldn't agree more with the great service at very reasonable prices, I definitely will be calling United for all my service needs.

Superb service!!  
Showed up on time, very thorough, and didn't just treat the symptoms rather went the extra mile in troubleshooting to find source of the problem!  (Our heat pump wasn't kicking on.)
Matt and Greg were very friendly, very professional and did not set out to nickel and dime us!  
They gave us heads up on future issues that could arise so we will watch out for them.

In the past we have had called other heating and cooling companies and got duped big time.  
This company is different than the rest!!
We will be calling United Heating & Plumbing in the near future for other services.

Ok this is the experience I had with United.

My AC wasn't working this past (hot) Sunday. I tried everything I could to fix it since it was the weekend. No luck so I got online to look for help and found United. I called and Matt said he could be out tonight and was in the neighborhood anyway.

Problem was the compressor among other things. He replaced them on the spot and got it up an running despite the fact that it is 20 years old.

Super knowledgable and honest considering he replaced the heart of the AC at an amazing price, on a Sunday, very quickly. Other companies could have told me it was 20 years old, needs a compressor so I should just get a new unit, that will be $100.

Great home service companies still exist!! Thanks Matt!!

I had a great experience with them.  Matt was very quick to schedule us and come check out our furnace.  Service was quick and he was really friendly throughout the whole process.  As a new homeowner, he was very descriptive of the problem we were experiencing and gave great advice for future maintainence.  I highly recommend them!

My AC stopped working on Wednesday. I had Apollo take a look and they were extremely adamant that the best course of action would be to replace the unit because it was improperly installed, had a leak and it would be more economical to just replace it versus repairing it. They recommended replacing the furnace as well for a total of 10-12k.  I was near tears! I was also skeptical because the unit was only seven years old. So I got on yelp and Apollo had a 2 star rating. United heating and plumbing had a 5 star rating so I called him for a second opinion. Matt was amazing, ethical, caring and helped me to diagnose the issue and got my AC working over the phone! I had him service the unit just in case and he was wonderful. My total bill was $208!   When I called he immediately listed off issues it could be and suggested that some companies use a scare/savior approach. He said they give you worst case scenarios and then save you by saying they can replace the unit the next day. That is exactly what happened!! He suggested maintaining the unit with small repairs and making it last as long as possible before spending the money to replace it. I would highly recommend him if anyone has any issues. I am appalled during these times that Apollo would put me at such a financial risk all for greed. I feel like I had a red bulls eye on my forehead because I was a women. With all the issues I've had with subpar contractors it was so refreshing to have someone actually care about what he does and his customers. I feel like I won the lottery! Whew!

Matt and his team are life savers! I had bought a great deal of HVAC equipment for my contractor to install, who was then injured and could not complete the work. Most companies either didn't want to install it without selling me the equipment, or didn't want to clean up someone else's mess. United not only took the job, but did fantastic work at a reasonable price.

Matt and Scott were both extremely helpful and reasonable when my pipes started making a high pitched noise whenever a faucet was opened. Scott came on time, picked up a part, returned on time and fixed the problem at a very reasonable cost. He gave helpful advice about the related cause. I couldn't have been more pleased. Thank you!!

I reached out to Matt shortly after moving into our new home in Cincy and realizing that the AC wasn't working properly. He carefully listened to the issue and quickly began diagnosing the problem from the story alone. He was extremely accommodating and offered to come to our house the following morning. This was very much appreciated given that the house was uncomfortably warm without a functioning AC unit. Upon meeting him, he was obviously knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He fixed our unit and had the AC running in about an hour. More importantly, his pricing was very transparent and he even took the time to educate us about proper HVAC maintenance to prevent future issues. His reviews obviously speak for themselves and I am more than happy to contribute. I would happily use him in the future for all my heating & cooling needs!

I called United after HELP called me to tell me they'd have to reschedule my appointment less than 24 hours prior. In a pinch I read a few reviews for United and gave them a call. Appointment for the next day, Friday, was available.

Matt gave me a call on Friday to let me know a time frame. Promptly arrived and got to work. He diagnosed and gave me a tutorial on my system and how it works.  Instead of spending hours and them charging me, he gave me options on how to proceed. Leak wasn't able to be spotted easily, so he filled up my refrigerant. Luckily my hvac doesn't use freon, so my bill was significantly lower.

Had a great experience with United. Matt made a late call on a weekend to troubleshoot a broken furnace/thermostat on a hot night. He provided great, professional service. He was very knowledgeable about common HVAC issues and was willing to explain them. He also accommodated a trip to look at my neighbor's broken AC on a weekend for a last minute call. I wish I could give 10 stars!

Great, service from a friendly small business. Definitely would recommend to family and friends with HVAC and plumbing projects. Matt went out of his way to give us an estimate for a new water heater on a weekend and we were very pleased with his approach. No pushy sales tactics, not trying to scare us into buying something we didn't need. Just straightforward, reliable service. We'll definitely call Matt again next time we need HVAC or plumbing service.

United Heating & Plumbing is the best!  Matt and Scott have the perfect combination of integrity and expertise.  They know what they're talking about--from A/C to furnace to plumbing.  Matt cited the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) in regards to a question about air quality--he's someone who stays on top of best practices and current research.  Scott knows plumbing like the back of his hand and shares knowledge to empower the homeowner.  As first time homeowners, we are THRILLED that we found our go-to guys.  And we'll turn to Matt and Scott for recommendations in other areas--trustworthy people tend to know other trustworthy people!

Highly recommended! We called United Heating & Plumbing on a Saturday around 7:30 am. Before 8 am we received a call back with a appointment scheduled for the same day. Matt arrived on time and was very professional. He explained the problem with our  A/C unit, and within 45 minutes of his arrival our A/C was back in business. Thank you Matt!

Matt was great from start to finish.
-Always responsive throughout the process (getting a quote, scheduling the service, and even following-up after to make sure everything is running smoothly)
-Practical (we had 4 different companies give quotes -- he seemed like the most knowledgeable and came up with what seemed like the most logical and cost-effective approach to the problem. He still provided various detailed quotes for many different options and left the decision up to us. )
-Integrity (he just wanted to help us fix the problem, was never trying to upsell, and was invested in getting the problem fixed the right way).

He followed up after fixing the problem (which had been a broken AC) and I let him know our heater was not working a month later (typical Cincinnati weather). He was concerned it was related to their work (it wasn't), and came out to check things out and diagnosed it for us for free.

Having just moved into our very old house and already encountered countless problems and contractors, Matt was definitely the best we've worked with. We will be using him for many years to come.

Do not hesitate to contact Matt.

Get your plumbing problems and plumbing dreams accomplished quickly, professionally, beautifully, and reasonably.

I waited too long.  I wish I had found Matt sooner.  

My apartment had several nagging plumbing problems that seriously killed my joy.

First, we had impossibly low water pressure. EMBARASSINGLY low water pressure.

Second, we had a toilet I loathed.  We replaced the guts twice using a handyman, but it still always ran and wasted water.  AND I was worried it would leak into the apartment below one day.  Ugh.

Third, we had a shower control that never worked from day one.  Trying to find out where Hot began and Cold ended was like solving a puzzle in Braille - with zero training.  

Fourth, we had a dicey water heater that was builder bog standard - a real piece of low quality junk that never worked well.  I hated the thought of having to replace it.

WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?  Three reasons:  I was fearful of the cost AND I was afraid that even after spending the money, these problems would not be fixed AND I dreaded the hassle and the follow-on pain that usually accompanies home repairs.

Matt is resolved all of it.  The cost was extremely reasonable, Matt explained all of our options, and the quality of Matt's work is absolutely top drawer.

We started out with one task, and loved the results so much, we had him back to correct the other issues.  

So, now all of my plumbing dreams have been realized.  My apartment is the little jewel it should be.  

THANK YOU, MATT!!!  Hugs and kisses, too, because when does anyone, let alone a plumber, make one's dreams come true?

Wow!
I must've got a different technician than the rest of these folks.
AC went out in July 2019.
Called United.
They came out, said it was a bad fan relay switch.
Replaced the part, although it took over an hour.
Said he was trying to figure it out.
Turned the system back on, a loud pop, a burnt smell - he had blown up the new part.
Left about noon, said he'd call back when he had a new relay.
I called Tuesday as I hadn't heard.
He said he'd call me back - never did.
Adams heating came out, found United installed the part wrong and cut a bunch of wires that should never have been cut.
Adams got it up and running and I'm in cool comfort once again.

I am blown away by United Heating & Plumbing. I attempted to remove my bathtub spout and ran into an issue that twisted the copper piping behind it.

Not only were Matt and Scott very understanding, but I received excellent customer service. The response was fast, the work was quality, and the price was reasonable. I am so thankful I called them. In addition, they have a one year warranty on workmanship.

Support this locally owned small business - you'll be glad you did!

Matt arrived right when he said he would, (and at a time that was convenient for us) to fix our leaky water heater. He was immediately helpful, explaining the situation to us in detail. He'll be our first call if we ever have any other plumbing issues in the future, and we would certainly recommend him.

it's beyond me how this company got five stars we had a small leak at our house at Anderson Township he put a little tiny valve in the line when we call them back they got very aggressive we got another plumber who tried to call them and see what they did and they was nasty with that plumber they're not even rated good with the Better Business Bureau must be their family giving all these ratings are friends so $417 down the drain the other company that came out found the leak within 15 minutes

I had Matt for the couple of works. He is saying that he is licensed plumber and electrician and heating and cooling guy. He sounds like he is very affordable and Jack of all trades. But this is reality of him, I had him for pass gas line inspection. He only fixed one thing at a time but not enough to pass the inspection. I had to call him back several time and keep paying him each time. But it never got passed the inspection. I ended up hire the bigger company who said whole piping was not done right and had to redo whole thing again. But he still charged me every minutes of his time even though it was all fail. I was just frustrated and wasting my time and money. And He is dishonest. He charges parts double price. He is giving all the reason that he has to charge this and whiny about he has to pay insurance and truck and on and on and on... I ended up pay everything but then I needed a document that proof of his work. He never sent me the document neither responded back. So unprofessional!!! I just don't want this to happen to anyone else.

Yelp reviews pay off again! I have a rental unit and had a new tenant moving in during summer heat.  On moving day, the AC conked out.  I went over and looked at it and it wasn't running right at all.  Fan wasn't moving at all, so no cooling was happening. A glance at my unit was enough to tell me it was pretty old, and I was worried I was looking at an unplanned replacement. I checked Yelp and saw this little place i had never heard of had great reviews, and several people mentioned Matt by name and his no-pressure approach. Seemed like a good fit.  

Well, Matt was able to get out in just a few hours and take a look.  He gave it to me straight - AC units are good for an average of 15 years, and my unit was 27 years old.  But he wasn't quite ready to put it out to pasture.  He checked the capacitor and found it had failed. He had one on his truck and replaced it, which revived my 27 year old unit.  He checked the freon and added a little to bring it up to full charge.

In just a few hours from when I called him, he had my old unit running like a champ.  Of course, he was clear with me that I was running on borrowed time, but a running unit is better than a not running unit.  

The reviews here speak for themselves. If you want to be treated well and get the straight truth from a great guy, give Matt a call!

In a world where many HVAC folks are more focused on upselling and making the most money, these guys are to complete opposite. Matt, the owner, came out and fixed our old furnace when it was acting up. He gave an honest analysis of the life left in the old unit and I decided to replace the system before it was completely done. Pricing was excellent and there was no push to get the top of the line. The removal of the old unit was very challenging and all was done with a smile and with humor. Great owner. Great crew. I highly recommend.

Just had Matt York in to check our HVAC. Great guy, very honest and very affordable. Super kind with my doggies and let them follow him around and bother him as he worked.

And then we chatted for a few minutes before he left. I trust Matt and am glad he fit us in despite us being a little out of the way.

Definitely someone we plan on having take care of our HVAC for as long as we live within his service area.

There's a reason this company has such stellar reviews. As a new customer, I wanted to add in my own to let people know they can believe the hype, as they say.
We contacted United this weekend when our furnace began making strange noises and was only intermittently blowing warm air. We left a voicemail and Matt returned our call within minutes. We described the scenario and he was able to preliminarily diagnose the issue over the phone. He let us know that the part he potentially believed would need replaced would have to be ordered and unfortunate couldn't be replaced immediately. He came out on a Sunday to take a look and indeed the part needed ordered.
He is extremely knowledgeable in his craft and explained exactly what the problem was and how this particular part works to keep our furnace functioning. We have an older furnace. He did not try to convince us that furnaces only last ten years and that it would be best to purchase a new system. He ordered the part, replaced it quickly, and he and his apprentice were in and out of our home in no time. They were both professional, transparent, and kind. Their prices were beyond fair.
They have earned my future business as well as my recommendation

If yelp would let me, I would give United (Matt) extra stars.
Our AC unit went out recently. He came out that evening after finishing another job to assess. It was so hot he went ahead and tried to do several things to see if we could get it working, but to no avail--the compressor was dead.
He wrote up quotes for us that included pricing for replacing our AC by itself as well as what it would be to replace the AC and furnace if we were inclined. He gave us honest advice on which machine (how high end of one) he would recommend to purchase for our home...which saved us money because it was NOT to buy the Cadillac as other companies may have advised.

He just left after installing today and I can't reiterate what an intelligent, kind, and professional individual he is (as are the workers he brings with him to complete the job). He always thanks us profusely for the business, asks about how we are doing, how our jobs are going. And no, we do not know this man personally, we found him via yelp!

He is SO knowledgeable about his line of work and explains things so that you understand what is going on and what to expect. He left today letting me know not to worry if my house doesn't cool down until tomorrow because a large part of the job of the AC is dehumidification which will take some time due to the recent weather causing such a large degree of heat and humidity throughout our home. Which is great to know or we may have worried the new unit wasn't working!

I cannot say enough good things about this company or recommend them enough if you are like us, scrolling through yelp trying to find someone fair, reliable, and trustworthy amongst a sea of HVAC business. (Hint: you can stop looking now, call Matt).
