I gladly recommend McDermott with five stars. This week, the company came out when our washer's drain pipe was backing up and overflowing onto the basement floor. Another company had previously said our drain might have concrete in it and the floor needed to be completely broken up. That would have cost thousands of dollars. Michael from McDermott snaked the pipe and fixed it pronto, never suggesting concrete in the pipe. (He said it was just typical gunk.) McDermott is honest, reasonable and Michael is very nice and easy to work with (and he's a dog person, so our dog loved him!). McDermott also has installed a water heater for us in the past and took care of a leaky dishwasher.

Wow. Amazing service and excellent work. Impressed by Michael's communication and willingness to work with us to complete time-sensitive repairs required by the City of Columbus.

We got tips on how to work with the City and received assurance they would work with us to make sure any code issues were addressed if any inspections turned up any other issues.

Showed up on time and was very thorough in evaluation. Was honest about what we needed done that was cheaper versus trying to charge more. Was well worth the money and we would definitely use them again!

We needed an emergency hot water heater replacement and Michael was able to fit us in the next day. They were organized, efficient, and professional, and installation of a new tankless heater to replace a traditional tank heater was finished quickly and cost substantially less than an estimate from another plumbing company. Overall it was the best experience we've had with a plumber in the Columbus area, and we intend to be remain customers of McDermott Plumbing for our future needs.

Had Mike McDermott to our house today to install a new water heater. We will forever be returning to McDermott now as our plumber. He was quick to return our call. Came to our house within less than 24 hours. Brought the new water heater and took away the old one. Installed it all within a few hours or less. Super friendly. Reasonably priced. And loved our dog (gotta love that!). Great service. Highly recommend.

McDermott plumbing performed extensive work on my condo. They were really very responsive and responsible throughout the entire process. Scheduling was easy. Everything went great and quick. Michael was able to replace sump pumps, cleared the drains and inspected other concerned spots around the house. He also explained after the work is finished in detail of works that were done and what could be future issues. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd definitely use them again. I highly recommend them.

McDermott Plumbing is our plumber for life! We've had Mike McDermott out to our house 3 times now, and have him scheduled for a 4th time. We've found him to be very honest about what needs to be done, and great about recommending fixtures when we asked for his advice. He's never been pushy or tried to sell us on something we didn't need, or made a repair that didn't need to be done. Quite the opposite - We initially had Mike out for what we were worried was going to be quite a costly repair, and we were concerned because my husband had been laid off.  Mike assessed the situation, and reassured us that what we were seeing wasn't an ongoing problem - it was something which happened because of a spill. He didn't even charge us - which was what sold us - his utter honesty and they have a service fee, which we were prepared to pay, but we needed to have a toilet replaced, so we scheduled that to be done.  

Mike came out to replace the toilet shortly after the first appt. He is incredibly efficient, he does an incredible job, and he's worth every penny AND he's reasonable!  Not only that, but he cleans up any mess he makes AND he's a super, super nice guy! Everyone we've ever spoken with at McDermott has been really nice and very professional!

Over the holidays we had the family coming in and our garbage disposal went out AND ... I don't know how, but our kitchen faucet broke. We called Mike but he didn't think he could get to us till the following week. We told him our situation, and that we really didn't want to call anyone else, but with the family coming to our home, we wouldn't be able to do without a kitchen sink. He was absolutely amazing! Not only did he find the time to get us on his schedule, he suggested the same kitchen faucet he has in his house - which we've been really happy with, and he replaced our garbage disposal. Again, he was just as nice as could be, he was efficient, and worth his weight in gold, but thankfully his fees are very fair.

Next week Mike is coming out to fix a leaky shower!  Wish he installed ceiling fans, and did other stuff I'm absolutely NO good at because it's hard to find someone you really trust!
