Ben Franklin Plumbing

We mived into a new house just last month and had many issues to deal with right away. We were so usr to our East Side plumber always going the extra mile on a project. That is NOT what you het with BFP!  This is just one example of their quality plumbing. They charged us $2,100 for this, and two other,  snaked drains. Yes, I said $2,100!  They charged $350 to install this toilet and left the line leaking. And if you dispute their work, you will verbally harassed for days until you pay. It's the biggest scam you'll ever find. And in Berea! What?  This is the nicest town ever. They should be ashamed of themselves. PS. And folks? they dont believe in cleaning up after themselves, so there's that awesome quality too.

If you need any plumbing work done. Run away from this company. Run away as fast as you can.

Sewer was backing up into the house. Called out BFP to take a look and fix the issue. They rolled up and started casing my property. My guess is looking for other problems that needed fixed. They were supposed to call before heading over and didn't. They dig the hole to access the clean out they ran a camera down and then snaked the drain. The charge...$900!!!  Are you kidding me?  This basically boils down to highway robbery. They were cussing and smoking the entire time. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Then they said the problem is at the street and that means they couldn't guarantee their work. Said I needed to call the county to have the pipe repaired. The county came out and said even if the issue would've been on the end of the pipe I'm responsible for they would've snaked it for FREE!  Plus they kept trying to sell me a back flow valve for the pipe. They were conveniently running a special on these. For the super cheap price of $3500! They also tried telling me my hot water tank was very old and needed replaced. I told them it was installed in 2010. They basically said I was lying and it was much older. The tank has a manufacturers label on it for 6/19/2010.

Moral of the story is find another company. One that doesn't rip people off for a simple job.

I have a tank less water system and initially the company sent out a plumber who was not comfortable in working on the system.  The company has one tech that is certified and knowledgeable with the system and scheduled him (Chris) to come out 5 days later as I could not take another day off from work to address the leak.  When Chris showed up he took the cover off the tank and spent about 25 minutes completing his assessment.  Chris then informed me that the system required to be flushed out and this will be a charge of $275.00 not including the fee of his arrival of $89.00 and the part in which he determined to be leaking from the air separator in which he did not have the price on that yet.  I explained to Chris the company in which makes the system requires the plumber to call with their assessment and determine what is covered under warranty and I needed the serial number to do this as I did not have the receipt at this time.  The serial number was on the inside of the lid and on the side of the lid in which I did not have access to.  Following Chris's 25 minute assessment he took my paperwork that came with the system and its serial number out to his van sitting in my driveway where he continue to sit for the next 2 hours until I called Ben Franklin Plumbing and spoke with Chrissie who was the only helpful person there.   Chris was sitting in the van smoking cigarettes and not doing a damn thing.  I walked up to his opened door and he was sitting there and I ask him what he was doing and if he called to check on the warranty.   Chris stated he tried twice but no one answered.  I advised him it was a directory in which he has to ask for Tech.  I went to get my phone to call and he was then on the phone with the tech.  Chris informed me that my system was not under warranty he lied when I called back I was informed it was under warranty.  I then asked Chris to leave and called the Ben Franklin's office and informed Chrissie I would call the police if he did not leave.  I kept her on speaker phone and explained that I asked Chris to leave and he was still sitting in my driveway.  Chris then walked up to my house walked ino my house to my basement to gather his bucket with a couple of tools and a light.  He screwed on the cap to the system and mean while Chrissie was on the speaker phone attempting to speak to him.  Chris would not reply and I told her that I was there alone with my son and did not feel safe with him in my house.  She called the general manger John and reported what was happening to him while she was still on speaker phone.  Chris left my house and slammed the door closed.  Chrissie apologized to me and stated their general manger would call me and be out that day to fix the leak.   I then received another call from Chrissie stating they would not be out today and the GM would call me tomorrow morning she also stated that the GM was in contact with Chris the whole time!  Funny because I was standing outside his van for the majority of the time and he was not on his phone with anyone.  I called them back and told them the water system was reading A: 00 and Chrissie advised me to contact he manufacture.  The system read 119 F the entire time until he put the cover back on the system.  I would NEVER use this company!! By the way never received a call from the GM.

On Saturday we discovered that we had water leaking from our bathroom upstairs into our basement. Steve was out within the hour and fixed the leak in no time. Very satisfied. Thank you!!!!

I'm a contractor and used them once. Won't be using them again. Didn't do what I asked, tore open a wall I necessarily,and the owner would not even listen to me explain what happened even though I have thousands of dollars worth of plumbing jobs coming up.

Called them.. came right out all other plumbers were booked up 3 months! Charged 1,070! For a bath tub shower replacement! Good work but not that damn much ! 200.00 shower faucet cost 60.00 bucks. I had to have it but I will ask when I call to see who's plumber! Schmidt's in our Ashland phone book. I will never call again!
