A-Z Plumbing & Drain Service

I went to their website on a Sunday and left a message for someone to get back to me. To my surprise, they called within the hour and said they could come today. The plumber was thorough and even noticed things I didn't. I wasn't charged extra for a Sunday service call and it was all taken care of in less than an hour. Superb!

DO NOT recommend A-Z as they are quoting $628 to install a $125 unit, which they broke last week when they charged me $185 for 10 minutes, of which they were 2 hours late (so I was waiting for 5 hours) and today they kept calling while I was somewhere I shouldn't be taking calls and I specifically told them when scheduling that I was not available until 9am.  They wanted to come an hour before the set time, then told me I would have to be home at EXACTLY 9am and they still didn't show up until 9:45. And they have the audacity to tell me that $628 is DISCOUNTED because they were out here last week and that nothing was noted in the appointment that I was not available before 9am. They did call back to try to lower it to $450, which would still be $325 to install something they broke!

Best plumbing service we have had. Michael came to our house and replaced two not-fully functioning toilets, two corroded/broken flanges, and helped re-do the broken basement laundry tub sink. He also replaced old water shut off knobs that were frozen in place and unable to be moved unless you're the Hulk. Great guy, great customer service. We highly recommend using A-Z Plumbing. They send knowledgeable, motivated, and helpful plumbers.

I recommend avoiding this company!! They are not honest and lack integrity! They overcharged me and then after the repair did not return any of my calls or texts. Unfortunately I did not realize I had been completely overcharged until after talking to another plumber and my family members.
I called the business the day after and spoke to the secretary and explained my concerns. She assured me she would have the owner call me later that day - the owner never called. I called again and texted another time. No answers. I really hoped to give them an opportunity to remedy the situation prior to leaving a review.
The repair man charged nearly $400 to fix the flapper in an old basement toilet; prior to the repair I specifically asked him wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a toilet at lowes since this one is so old? He assure me - oh no, a new toilet will run you $600-900). Well shame on me for not doing my research and finding out that toilets are $120-300 at Lowes! Also shame on a business for taking advantage of those of us who aren't plumbers!!!
I realize there is a cost to doing business - but be honest about it! I was told they provide free estimates, but I am assuming in the nearly 400 (non-itemized) bill they had some other charges backed in.
STAY AWAY!!!

Jim from A to Z plumbing did a fantastic job on our plumbing repair.   Our tub drain was blocked and in trying to unblock it we accidentally loosened the drain from the tub resulting in water coming into our dining room ceiling. Jim came out first thing in the morning and repaired the leak and corrected the things contributing to the drainage problem. I highly recommend this company and Jim.

Rich came out this morning and worked diligently to free our kitchen sink. It was clogged very far in the pipe and he kept at it til it was free. He was pleasant and helpful and we are gratefulthat he came out quickly and solved our problem the morning after Thanksgiving.

A-Z has been there for us since we purchased our century home last summer.  Anytime we called they have sent an appropriate plumber to troubleshoot the problem we described.  I highly recommend this company.

They get the the job done but at a price. I initially had other estimates cheaper from other companies but came to A-Z since their ratings were higher around the board. Just bought my home so I figured I'll hire a qualified expert for my first plumbing issue. The kitchen and bathroom sink were clogged, and they did become unclogged. However, backup from the drain ruined my girlfriends $50 hair straightener to the point it was unusable. A few other things under the sink that could have been easily moved also got some residue but our plumber at least attempted to clean it off. The thing that bothered me the most was the additional $250 I had to pay from the plumber taking off a pipe while he was trying to go the easy route. It ended up snapping off, I'm assuming from age but had our plumber gone through the pipes in the basement originally (which he ended up having to do anyways) I could've saved a lot of money and this fairly negative review.

Long story short, they'll get the job done. But at a high price.

My second floor apartment toilet backed up hella gnarly & I couldn't resolve it on my own-- even with the minutes of plumbing experience I have. I only have one toilet so it became an emergency of sorts (you know the sort).

I called A-Z, was answered immediately by a service who provided a quick turnaround window which was more than acceptable before reaching out to plumbers in the area who could help. She landed on Caleb who arrived probably 1.5 hrs after I originally called (and by the earliest time provided in the original estimate). Caleb assessed the problem as best he could by looking at a drain filled with water and drano and proceeded to break out lug an industrial power auger and got the clog to drain within a few minutes.

He could have said DONE!, collected his payment and left but he said he wanted to see why it was difficult to get through the pipe and decided to take the extra step of going back down to the truck and bringing up a camera probe almost as large as the auger and then found the main issue and showed me on the camera monitor that there is a large calcium type buildup in the old iron pipe that will need to be resolved at some point.

Now my drain is clear and I know what I will need to do to resolve the larger problem in the near future.

Caleb was friendly, professional, VERY knowledgeable and went the extra mile to diagnose a problem larger than the immediate one.

I have not used this service before but I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to them again and hope all their plumbers display the same level of professionalism as Caleb.

I am extremely dissatisfied with this company.  I called them out to stop a dripping faucet and to replace the shower spout.  $340 later and what was a 30 minute fix, I was left with a shower spout that protrudes out.  I called them to come back and fix it and it would cost another $175.  I would not have gone with them if I knew this would happen from the beginning.  Way overpriced and ridiculous they left me with a job that would cost another $175.  That should have been relayed to me before the job was started.  

To add to my review, I just called the company because the leak they were supposed to fix started to drip again.  I called in and spoke to a lady who was one of the rudest people I have ever talked to. I'm pretty sure she is the owner.  She told me that it was essentially my fault for the issue and said that it would cost me more money to go to small claims court than a refund.  I am in disbelief how badly they can treat a customer.  

If you need a partial leak fix for $340 this is the place to go.  What a joke.

I was very pleased with the work done by Phil. He explained throughly to my husband and I what the problem was. We had a horrible smell coming from our basement that we knew has to do with our plumbing. Before we got any work done Phil made sure that we knew exactly what was wrong, why we probably had this issue, and what to do to eliminate the problem. He was very professional and we liked him especially because he was a Cavs fan! We needed a new sup pump and we were able to get a new one that day. We love the coupons that we found in the mail and that helped with the overall price. The price was very reasonable and we had no problem with it. We will definitely use this business again in the near future for any other problems that might occur with our plumbing in our house. Thanks Phil!

Exceptional customer service, everyone from the admin to the service staff are pleasant and very professional. They are also very responsive and have always been able to accommodate my requests for my near immediate plumbing needs. I would highly recommend A-Z Plumbing.

Jim is the absolute best! He arrived on time and was very friendly and professional. I had a clogged bathroom sink and tub, the drains were all running to the same system so it was multiple problems. Jim snaked both drains and even checked my drain to the sewer line. He gave great advice on a few issues I couldn't fix at the time so will be calling him back to fix those as well. I felt like he went above and beyond the call to fix the problem.
I just moved back to Ohio from being in the military, and I will be an A to Z Plumbing customer for life! Thanks for your help Jim! Hope your mother gets better!

Was having some plumbing problems under my kitchen sink. I came on Yelp to find a plumber and A-Z was the the first company that contacted me when I requested quotes. They were available the next morning so that was convenient and nice. Luke was the plumber that came out and gave me an estimate and explained the work that needed to be done. I agreed upon the work and the quoted estimate. He was friendly, knowledgeable and got the work done in a timely manner. Everything's working again and I'm very happy with the work he did. I'd definitely recommend A-Z If you have any plumbing needs.

A-Z came out and quoted basement drain replacement on the same day I Yelped for help---a major job for less than 1/2 of what another plumber quoted. Luke came back and did the job the next day---on time, professional, and perfect clean-up despite having to fill a sizeable concrete hole. Will call them first for the next plumbing job!

Plummer was very nice, explained things to me and only took 2 hours to come once I called. I'm so happy I found a reliable company, such a stress reliever to have my facet fixed! Thank you !

I am extremely dissatisfied with this company. They were asked to clean my drain. The technician they sent told us our drain was irretrievably clogged with roots  and would not guarantee the job. The cost was $360. The technician then tried to sell my wife a new sewer line for $6500 , but would not show us the camera feed from the cleanout that he performed. The line became plugged 3 days later. We retained another firm Mike's Excavating which ran a camera through the line. The camera  showed that A-Z Plumbing had only used a 1-2 cutter to clean out the line instead of the 4-6 cutter required to do the job. Toilet paper hung up on tree roots that AZ had not removed, but said they did which is what caused the line to become clogged again. Mike's Excavating cleaned out the line properly and said the line did not need to be replaced. We contested the charge and AZ Plumbing fought with us. We lost this because the merchant contested the charge and we never received the letter that we had to submit a letter from Mike's Excavating. The owner of this company offered to come again and clean out the line a second time. After the first visit, I did not trust them, and neither should you. The company is dishonest, and unwilling to see problems with the 'services' they offer. If you value your money and want results go elsewhere.

Yes they were responsive. Yes he gave the price talk before he opened the cabinet.  No I didn't get a fair business transaction!  I'm a new home owner and 2 year old garbage disposal didn't work. He pushes a reset button and it works.  Charged me $125!  It wasn't broken, no tools were needed and he didn't have to pull anything apart!  Totally took advantage of a woman that knows nothing about plumbing. Shame on this company.

I needed an additional hose bib on my new house. Two other plumbers never called me back. A-Z sent a guy out in a day and did the work the next day in a couple of hours.

I contacted A-Z Plumbing via Yelp.   I received a response and an offer to send a technician out for a free estimate.   I decided to have two plumbing fixtures replaced.  For the estimate visit and on the day of service, I received a call advising when the technician would arrive.  Both occasions, the technician, Pete arrived as stated.  He explained with detail the actions he needed to take to make the repairs and kept me informed as he made progress. Once the work was completed, Pete reviewed the job with me and asked if I had any questions. He cleaned the work areas and did not leave a mess. I am very pleased with the work done and will do business with them again!

We will never use these plumbers again. I have called them for a number of plumbing issues in our house but the most recent was what sealed the deal of us never calling them again. I called them about a leaking toilet that resulted in water on the floor. A plumber Nick came and decided even though there was water coming out of the toilet that it was not a toilet issue and that he needed to cut up our new carpet and told me that it would be a $1500 fix where they would need to jackhammer our cement slab to fix a pipe. I trusted his judgement but turned out it was just a small part on the toilet that needed to be replaced........ They charged $155 to cut up our carpet and refused to refund it even though it was their mistake. Extremely unprofessional, incompetent, and rude in their handling of their mistake.

Great customer service! The only company to offer a free estimate and they fit me in the next day. Didn't know what to except with pricing and the amount of water damage so we'll have to budget the repair in but when we do I'll definitely be calling them to fix the issue.

Called for service a leak and running toilet.. the leak was fixed but the part placed in the toilet was defective. We called for service a and were informed that the part was not under warranty after only three months of use.

Placed a call and had an appointment set up. Next day, they were trying to change it around on me. Nevertheless, the guy came out. I told him what was going on, and he didn't even want to pull the toilet off to start there. It was a automatically going to be OVER A $1,000. HE CLAIMED THERE ARE LEAD PIPES THAT CORRODE. Our house was built in the 70's, hence there are NO lead pipes. I thought for a few minutes and when he came back in, I declined. Later in the day, I got a call and they wanted to know when I would be setting up the appointment. HA!! I went elsewhere and it WAS EXACTLY what I suggested. The wax ring on my toilet. There was water underneath there. To not even go on about this, the man I hired had it done under an hour, was honest, neat and quick. PROBLEM SOLVED. I was going to be ripped off!!!!! Avoid this place. Luckily, I picked up on it. Automatically wanted to cut into the walls, replace pipes, etc.... Thankfully I did not and I am glad how it turned out!!
It was a classic case of taking ME for as much as they could. I was upset when they left. The guy didn't even want to check the toilet first. EVERY plumber I called gave me that advice as being the first diagnostic THEY would do. Everyone was busy and could not come. So I called A-Z. But after the  way he diagnosed the issue, I declined and called someone else. They just came today. Under a 100 bucks it cost me!!! Twenty flushes and not a leak!! Thanks for TRYING to make money off me. I did not fall for it! I will never understand how people can run a company and a racket. My view will hopefully be an eye opener for people.

They were great! Other plumbers I've used charged $95 just to come out to my condo building downtown and with A-Z, they did not! They were on time, professional, and fixed my overflowing, constantly running toilet with no problem. As a landlord, I absolutely intend to use them again for ANY plumbing issues I encounter.

These plumbers were really knowledgeable and nice.  They were on top of everything and made the necessary repairs in a timely manner.  They really messed up our carpet though, so they sent carpet cleaners to remedy the issue.  
I will definitely use these plumbers in the future, should I need them.

Called early before they were even open and received a text that they would call me shortly..At 8am they called me back and set up a time between 2 and 4.  I was called again to see if they could come by earlier and it worked out perfect..sink repaired and everything was done..would definitely use for any plumbing needs

I had A-Z plumbing out to discuss a couple projects I was thinking about and some out door drainage problems I'm having.  They were very knowledgeable and provided clear information on not only the cost, but also the time frame to complete.  I was given quotes for the projects and did not feel pressured at all.  Tim was just a really nice guy that helped me to understand all that would be required.

We could not be more happy with A-Z plumbing. We had a service line break after-hours and Rachel answered at 7:30p and had someone to our house within the hour. The crew was professional and knowledgeable and saved us lots of money on the back end because were able to control the problem from the get-go. We'll use A-Z for any problem, big or small, from here on out.

On August 12, 2021, A-Z Plumbing, attempted to address a problem at my residence located in South Euclid, Ohio.  During heavy rain, the storm sewer in my garage was backing up. The rain water would then drain out within 10 minutes. The City of South Euclid had already determined that the problem was not beyond my property.

A-Z employee Nick, and I am quoting from their invoice was unable to get line open, line is broken. See Proposal.

For this I immediately paid A-Z Plumbing $895.00 via my credit card.
The proposal was to saw part of my cement walk at my front porch, and remove some small bushes to excavate, remove and replace up to 10' of broken section of pipe....

The cost for such service was an additional $5,421, total cost was therefore
$6,316.00.

On October 13, 2021 TRI-D Plumbing of Wickliffe, OH., successfully completed a camera inspection of the area A-Z found the line is broken, and simply found an accumulation of roots and debris. Nothing was broken.

For a total cost of $1,450 TRI-D Plumbing located clean outs-to jet and camera both the sanitary and storm lines.  Found a lot of root balls in line. Jet lines open all the way to City main-lines clear

Today is Tuesday October 26, 2021. Since October 24, 2021, we have experienced torrential rains, and my garage floor has remained completely dry, 100% of the time.

A-Z plumbing not only misdiagnosed the problem on my property, but charged me $895 for doing so. A-Z Plumbing also proposed an additional $5,421 for work destined NOT to remedy the real problem.

I requested a refund from A-Z and they have not responded.

Dale was friendly, quick and super informative!  A-Z showed up on a Sunday within an hour of my initial call!  I will be calling them every time I need plumbing work done!  Thanks A-Z!!

I would like to Thank A-Z plumbing for coming to fix the problem that I had with the pipe in my front yard and getting it done quickly so that water could be restored in my home. These Gentleman were very professional and even educated me a bit about my situation.

We needed a gas line installed for our new gas fireplace. Larry Faber was sent and installed our gas line. He listened to our plans and completed the work needed. Or fireplace company stated he did and excellent job. Larry is an excellent plumber and gave us  estimates and fair pricing for future projects. It is hard to trust tradesmen these days but Larry made us feel secure in our decisions. He gave us the peace of mind. I would recommend him and this company to friends and family.

This plumbing service have Techs that needs more training. The Tech told me my drain ran out the back of my houseThen he said his machine was too short to snake the drain. After getting the sewage pool to drain in the garage he left. An hour later a pool of sewage rises up through my drain again. Call them and they couldn't come till the next day because another customer have an Emergency . I already paid you and sewage flooding my garage and this is not an emergency ? The next day the  guy shows up with a longer snake machine but couldn't clear it because the drain had collapsed 15 ft from the drain and it would cost a little over $4000. to fix it. I gave three stars because the owner Rachel contact me everyday to assure me they will make it right. She finally sent one of the Superviser. Dave I think, very knowledgeable and professional Gentleman. He snake my drain and educated me on causes. Drain have done well since. Will I use them again? Yes because I know if I am not satisfied Racheal will stay with you until you are. Next time I will ask for Dave.

Stay away, you will call them out to address your initial problem. They will send someone out (technician) who brags about how many hundreds of thousands they make per year and not address what you originally called them out to help with. After, they will then focus on something else to charge you more money for. Then charge extra to visit to provide pricing for what they were originally called out for.

They operate by not giving the full picture of what the entire job will entail. They provide pieces until you've paid.

Rachel TJ and Rob were present when Tim bragged about how much he made. I was not provided 7 quotes? Lol no companies do not charge for quoting work that needs to be done. Tj's quote should have included my original concern. Instead the focus was on busting open the floor to add drainage already present.

We needed help with one clogged/slow draining gutter down spout. I called A to Z later in the afternoon around 5pm, they took my information and promised a technician would call me and arrive between 9am-11am the next day. Unlike other terrible plumbing companies like Roto Rooter, A to Z did call ahead and show up on time. Tim S. was my technician and he was awesome. He didn't hit me with hard sales pitch scare tactics. He spent time to walk through our issue with us and do diagnosis of the situation. He was able to quickly identify a long term fix and solution for us. Tim's work was nothing short of excellent. We'd definitely suggest using A to Z, thank you Tim and company for being honest and professional, you're some of the best out there.

Although the service was prompt and courteous, the charge I thought, was excessive.  A simple position misplacement of a condensation pipe not being over the drain but on the side, was a very expensive and unfair charge. I will not be using them again. I'd much rather have food on the table.

Had the company come out and fix a broken outdoor faucet in May. Just over a month later the faucet wasn't working. They blamed it on us using excessive force yet we did nothing different than we did for the first 20 years of use and I believe it was damaged on the initial repair. It took daily phone calls for two weeks to get an explanation and by then I moved on to someone else who was charging 25% of the estimate from A-Z.

I find that as a licensed plumber their prices are in line. arrived on time and called prior to arrival.technician was knowledgable. i have used a-z on three occasions without any problems i do recommend
