Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I was able to schedule not only same day, but service within 2 hours of calling.   They sent Adolfo and Derrick, who were both great.   Friendly, professional, and knew what they were doing.    

They cleared the drain and cleaned up after.   Definitely will use them again if I have an issue.

I had no choice and didn't know who to
call. I was new to the area. I had a clogged sink. He charged me $500 to do this. I thought this was very expensive. He was on time and he fixed the issue, so that was good. He did Not make a mess. I can't afford to use as my regular plumber. He was at my house no more than 30 minutes, less to fix the clog. That is $1000+/hour!! WOW! Should have been a plumber! Haha

I called because my garbage deposal stopped working.  I was quoted a price of $119.  And I had a coupon for $75.  But instead of $119 minus $75 dollars, I ended up paying over $300.  The reason given was some debris had gotten into an adjoining pipe which he took his hand and removed.  If that is not crooked I don't what is.  I guess they decided to double the so called '$75 coupon in tacked on those charges plus some.  Very Disappointed and beware to those who decide to use this company.

I recently used Roto Rooter for the Plumbing behind my Washing Machine. They sent a Technician (William) who had no idea what he was doing. I complained and spoke to a Manager (Carlos) who made it Right and sent another Technician (Muana) who was excellent!! He told me what was needed and got to work! It didn't take long and I was back using my Washing Machine again! I'll definitely use Roto Rooter again but, next time I'll ask for Muana!!

Let's face it, one doesn't call Roto-Rooter and not expect to pay a premium for their service.  They are more expensive than most others.  But when a promised discount on my bill ( by the local manager, per internet ads) never appeared, I was sorely disappointed.  
Their serviceman did a good job, very professional, and cleared up the problem within an hour.  No complaints about his work.  He did not make the scheduled first appointment time, but was able to come first thing the next morning.
 Just be forewarned, if at all possible, check out other plumbers in your area. You'll probably save a lot of money.

I have to give two stars for Roto-Rooter showing up and fixing the leak in our front yard, but that's as far as it goes.  Once it was determined that the leak was under the sidewalk, the price doubled (from $1500 to over $3300).  Since our front yard was flooded and we needed it fixed, we agreed to move forward.  After submitting the claim to our home owner's insurance - they determined that they would only pay $1800 because that was the standard charge for this type of work in our area.  Needless to say, it left a pretty bad taste in our mouth for this company and we'll be going elsewhere the next time we have plumbing needs.

And after reading previous reviews, it looks like this extreme over charging for services is a common practice.

Used Roto-Rooter several times and ALWAYS been very satisfied.  They are prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced.  These are my go to company for any plumbing issues.

Oh boy, it's hard to know where to even begin with this review. We noticed a leak in our front yard on the afternoon before July 4th. We turned off our irrigation meter and watched it for a couple hours but the water kept coming so we knew it was from the house and our front yard was becoming more and more flooded. We called a few places that were recommended to us but everyone was gone for the holiday. With two kids at home, we really needed functioning water so we were relieved when Roto-Rooter said they could come the next morning. That's where everything seemed to go terribly wrong. They arrived promptly the next morning and quoted us $1,700 as a base for our leak which seemed acceptable due to the complexity of the work although we had never had a main water line break so we really didn't know. They did disclose it could be as much as twice that if some complications arose (which they did). We went forward with the work and this repair turned into over $4000 of work due to the leak being located under the concrete walkway. This was obviously more than that 2x estimate we received in the beginning but it was hours of work on a holiday so we just paid it and decided to move on. However, in our initial quote we were made aware that if the leak was under the concrete then a portion would need to be moved and would be put back but we needed to sign a waiver that repairs wouldn't be made to the grass. Fine. Except that the concrete was not put back. It was left six to eight inches above the rest of the walkway with caution tape around it and marked as customer being responsible for concrete. Do not only was the estimate very inaccurate but this is a huge expense to us as a result of the work not being done as promised. Then things kept getting worse - we had another leak show up the next day. The city came out to look at it and said it was a result of the pressure created by the repair. We had Roto Rooter come back to look at it and of course they did not agree with this (he said/she said basically) but said someone would come to put the concrete back the right way. They quoted us $850/875 to repair the new leak and said they were giving us 50% off since we had just had a major repair. We decided to get a couple estimates this time and other plumbers actually laughed out loud at that estimate and what we paid for our initial repair. Our estimates for the second repair from three other well-reviewed plumbers ranged from $450-575 and most said the initial repair should have been between 2300-3100 if we had had the work done with them. Then, the icing on the cake was that the technician took our irrigation key so that we can't even turn our sprinkler system back on so now all our grass is dying. I've called three times about this and am told I'll get a call back about returning it but I have yet to actually get one. Oh, and no one has showed up to fix the concrete either. I hired Roto-Rooter based on their positive Yelp reviews so I hope this saves someone else the head ache. If it's a big job - it will probably cost you more than they say, be done sub-satisfactorily and good luck getting in kind of customer service if you're still experiencing problems afterwards.

Will probably end up having to report them to BBB to get the remaining issues taken care of. Just terrible.

I've used this company a couple of time over the past couple of years and thought I liked them however, this most recent time left me aggravated.  I can handle most plumbing issues myself but was out of town and needed help sooner than I could get there so I call Roto-Rooter.  The receptionists that made the appointment was great to work with, the technician came out as scheduled.  The technician called me and said the toilet needed to be replaced, it was broken, the basket drain in the sink was broken and needed to be replaced.  I can do these things but I was out of town.  I asked how much it would be for him to do it and he said oh it will be expensive.  I can't make this up...

I told him I would do it myself and not to do anything.  He seemed shocked that I could do it myself and started asking questions about why I called him if I can do that.  Not in a rude way, he just seemed shocked.  

Long story short, I had one bolt on the toilet that needed to be replaced and then basket drain in the sink just needed a new gasket. I paid $20 total to fix myself.  I realize doing it yourself is always cheaper, if you do it right, but I do think what I was quoted work unnecessarily.

INCREDIBLE  SERVICE FROM 1st phone call to last check up!!!!!!!   We had a leaky toilet and called To get it fixed. The initial phone call was outstanding. It was like talking to a good friend. Then we had somebody come over it the same day an hour later and fix it. And then we had a follow up check up person come over after the first person left! Incredible service and would highly recommend to anybody ever to come and call them for service! Outstanding! We are both in the service industry in different venues And we are so highly impressed by the customer service that Roto router at this location has done! Very very very pleased!

I'll make this review short.  Experienced back to back plumbing problems.  First the continually emptying toilet.  It appeared to be working correctly while it was flushing my hard earned monies down the drain.  Ugh!  Second, a dripping water heater .  So, I called RotoRooter, and within a few hours they sent 'Aiden', for the first problem, since I wasn't aware of the second problem, at the time. He was so professional and knowledgeable, that his service alone would garner five stars. Also, I don't want to leave out RotoRooter's overall quick response.  Next the hot water heater, which had begun to drip.  So,  I called the company back, the very next day.  Ugh!  This time, a gentleman by the name of 'Van' addressed the issue.  He was equally as professional and knowledgeable.  Both of my issues were resolved at very reasonable prices, and if the need should ever arise in the future, where I need plumbing services, RotoRooter will be the first place that I call.

The only company that was able to come out on a Sunday!

We had a clog in our kitchen sink (which is connected to our dishwasher and garbage disposal). We were able to get a service man to our house within an hour to snake the drain and fix the problem. Service was prompt and efficient and we were thankful.

My only complaint was that the job cost about $400 with taxes and fees. It took about 45 minutes to fix and seemed very expensive. But, it's fixed and done with and it was on a Sunday.

This is a trusted name & company since I was 11 years old. I appreciate the fact they do weekend  calls & weekend work.  From the moment you call in for a service call to the moment the job is complete the staff remains polite, professional & attentive to tour needs.  (ps...don't forget to check in for a $60 coupon.)

Last Sunday, we were in major distress.  Unexpectedly, our toilets started backing up and no amount of plunging alleviated the repairs.  My GF called Roto-Rooter has she had hired them previously for a drain issue and had a decent experience.  Later that evening, Adolfo T. arrived and HE WAS FANTASTIC!!! It was getting dark, it was drizzly outside and he went right to work to try to solve the issue.  

We had a clean out pipe in your yard near the house and another in the yard that was buried.  He stuck his pipe snake into the cleanout and removed the obstruction, allowing our drains to flow once again.  We were at a 10-stress level and he handled us with grace and was truly awesome.  If I ran a plumbing company, I would hire a hundred Adolfo's.

So, now you might be wondering why only two stars?  Adolfo relayed that he did not have a pipe camera on his truck however that one was included in our service and Roto-Rooter would send one the following day during a window in the morning.  No problem - we both stayed home so that we could meet the camera guy and see if there were additional issues.  

The window for the pipe camera came and went so we called to inquire as to when the pipe camera guy might arrive.  A series of frustrating calls later, Wes arrives at our door.  He's driving what looks like a personal car without any identification that he's with Roto-Rooter except for his jacket.  He proceeds to ask me what the issue is and that he probably can't help us.  I encourage him to give it a try anyway because we paid for it.  

He pulls this pipe camera thing out (it looks like a large garden hose connected to a tv monitor) and shoves it down the cleanout closest to the house.  I asked if he was able to see where the other pipe cleanout would be so I could dig it up and hopefully resolve the issues.  The video feed left a lot to be desired and after unrolling about 35' of cable, he declared he had found the problem but that it was likely 14' down and would cost us approximately $14,000 to repair.  I chuckled and politely asked him to leave.

Determined not to pay $14,000 unless absolutely necessary, I started digging in our front yard (after having utility lines marked).  After about an hour, I uncovered the sewer line and the second cleanout - the one that Wes couldn't find.  After digging everything up, I proceeded to measure and found that the sewage line was not 14' down but 2' down and 35' from our cleanout put the camera in the sewer.  

So, while Adolfo was 5-star amazing, Wes was definitely 1 star.  

Add to that the calls from their ancillary services (water cleanup and restoration) where the caller didn't leave a message but kept calling (also a 1 star move).  While I may call Roto-Rooter again in the hopes of having a plumber like Adolfo, our subsequent experience makes me wary of the company.

Terrible customer service!!!! Had an 8-10 window with a call ahead of time. At 10am, no call and no show. Called dispatch and they said they would dispatch the tech ASAP but by that time the person I had asked to sit at my house (since I work full-time) had another appointment
No apology, no remorse for the situation and the dispatcher was very rude.

Thank goodness for quick service! We were having issues with our toilets backing up, including while we were in the shower (talk about odd). Given neither my boyfriend or I have any experience in this area, we went directly to the web for a recommendation. After combing through ratings and reviews, we decided to go with Roto-Rooter.

After calling the general number to discuss our problem, the agent offered to send a technician immediately. Mind you, this was at 10PM! Instead we opted for next day service. The technician arrived the next morning, walked through our options and provided pricing for both the low end and high end of troubleshooting/repair.

He went on to work on our issue for about an hour before finishing. While wrapping up he provided us with recommendations to minimize future issues, as well as his personal contact information in the event of emergency.

Needless to say the work was done quickly, the technician was skilled and polite. I'd definitely recommend again!

We had an emergency plumbing situation last week and these guys were amazing. I called at 4:45pm and our plumber Aiden arrived within 45 minutes. He followed the CDC guidelines since we're still in the middle of Covid 19 pandemic, he was professional, and fixed the broken pipe quickly. We really appreciate all of his hard work!!!

They came out and cleared my clogged sewer mainline. The guys were nice and did a great job. Took less than an hour. Only complaint is the high cost at $344.

The next day I had them come out again and take a video of my sewer line because AT&T is in the area laying fiber optic cable and right after they went through my front yard, my sewer backed up. The video tech, Eddie, was great. He was very professional and explained everything very well. He ran the camera through the sewer and found where AT&T's cable had busted through my pipe. The video quality was amazing. Eddie took his time looking through the whole line to see if there were any other problems. The technology and service were outstanding! The good thing about price in this situation was that the video work was only another $150. That is because I had the sewer line clean out work done. Otherwise it would have been $405 which seems high  again.

Jeff H (#1080) came to our house to help with a clogged pipe. Knowledgeable, courteous and mindful of COVID-19 concerns. Would definitely recommend Rotor Rooter and request Jeff.

Our rental property had a nasty back-up in the main sewer line and our tech, Nealleigh, was prompt, professional, super efficient, and very informative.  She knocked our problem (which was way more complex than I had expected) and got everything flowing again for our tenant.

I will not hesitate to call them again or refer them to my neighbors and friends.

Wish I could give 0 stars! We had a sewer backup and called them. They couldn't figure out the problem and minimized the issue... but the NEXT DAY their restoration guy said it was a hazmat situation and packed up all our things (but left others that were obviously contaminated). So began our nightmare. They said they wouldn't do anything more until our insurance paid them... and then once they were paid, they wouldn't do ANY work. We found another company to fix the backup and paid them. We had to hire contractors, pay them ourselves out of our own money to fix our house - floors, walls. mouldings, furniture, cabinets, etc. For 6 MONTHS our entire downstairs was unlivable. When we asked them to at least put the toilet back, they said they didn't have anyone who could do that. THEY ARE ROTOR ROOTER!!! THAT IS WHAT THEY DO!!! By the time we had stopped fighting them and paid for it all ourselves, it was too late to get the depreciation from our insurance. They are a SCAM! RUN FROM THEM!! We paid for everything and THEY got the insurance money!

I am very impressed with the level of service of our local Roto-Rooter company.

Given a 4 hr window to arrive for service, we were able to whittle it down with calls to and from the dispatch desk. I arrived home 5 minutes before our technician, minimizing my idle time from other necessary business.

Our technician Stan was very professional , wore boot covers in the house and guided us every step of the way. We opted for a camera scan of our sewer system to discount the possibilities of there being root incursions in the line. The camera show the line to be clear and unencumbered. Now we have peace of mind and he gave us recommendations to ensure there will be no more toilet blockages in the house.

We would gladly use them again.

Had a plumbing issue in the kitchen and laundry room. Nealleigh Rice was the person sent to my house. She took to time to check everything, find the clogs and had me back up and doing laundry in no time! :)

I had a backed up drain from my washing machine. Huge water spill.  Stan the technician came and quickly new what the problem was and resolved it quickly.  I have to say Stan was very professional and knowledgeable.  I hope they give him a day off.  He deserves it.

I'm in Charlotte, NC & my washer overflowed this morning...thank goodness it wasn't my toilet...  I called Roto Rooter & got Linda on the phone.  She was so pleasant, professional & efficient!  It's a bit sad that I was suprised by her great customer service on the phone.

Called Roto-Rooter after having no luck unclogging the line with the snake I had.  Sergiy 7775
was courteous, listened and even cleaned up the disgusting mess.  When I walked back into the powder room to clean it, I could have cried with relief.  Sergiy was sent from heaven.  He was fast, efficient and freaking brilliant cleaning up for me!!!

We had a kitchen drain backup and called. They had a man there by 130 same day. Keith was the plumber and knew his stuff. He had the sink snaked and cleared in an hour or so. He left NO mess behind. Very professional.

This was the only company we could find who could come out on a Sunday night!  Our toilet, bathtub, and bathroom sink were not draining - Stan came out and located a break in our sewer main in the right of way.  He assisted us with notifying the City so they could come out and make the repair (not our responsibility since it was off our property).  Prompt and professional - would definitely use them again!

After a week of attempts to alleviate a kitchen sink/washing machine/garage sink clog ourselves, we ended up with stinky water all over our kitchen floor. This was on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend so we figured we were doomed. Wrong! One call to Roto Rooter of Charlotte and a tech was at our house within 90 minutes. Hlei the plumber was methodical in addressing the issue, figured out the problem, and fixed it. Fair price and guaranteed work. I have used Roto Rooter of Charlotte before and would do so again. You should to.

I had a some issues with initially scheduling the service. They were supposed to provide a 30min call before coming out, yet I had heard nothing at the end of my appointment window. When I called to check on the service tech's arrival time I was told it could be another 2-5 hours (this was at 7pm). I was transferred to a supervisor who was very apologetic and assured me they would be out first thing in the morning. They also provided a discount on labor.

The service tech arrived right on time and was very nice. He explained everything that needed to be done, and in a way the I fully understood the extent of the work and why it was needed. Ronnie was very nice, friendly and efficient. I would recommend their service.

Recommended by another plumber that could not make my needed repairs.  It took two days to get an appointment and when he showed up he said he couldn't fix it and charged a $50 service call.  He couldn't take a credit card and didn't have change so he ended up with a $10 tip.  DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME or MONEY!  Unprofessional, overpriced, lazy and not qualified.

Just had Stan from Roto Rooter Charlotte, N.C. to the house to help de-clog my laundry line which had been overflowing for weeks (embarrassed to say we've been using a tub to catch the water prior).  He showed up right on time (can't remember the last time THAT happened on a service call), fixed the problem and did a really good job of explaining the issue and how we could prevent it moving forward.  

Big fan and would definitely recommend them moving forward.  Ask for Stan!

We were having issues with our washer machine drain backup.  Roto-Rooter was the only company that was able to come out on a Sunday.  Ronald James was very nice and helpful.  He had the drain pipe snaked and cleared in less than 20 minutes!

Dewey and Darin were very helpful, patient and informative. They went above and beyond to ensure that I understood what was going on and that the standing water in my kitchen and bathroom was taken care of.

I recently bought a rental house and while my fiancé was trying to tighten a bolt on the toilet, accidentally broke it. We decided to call Roto-Rooter due to some personal recommendations and the friendly dispatcher was able to schedule an appointment immediately.  They called 30-45 minutes prior to their arrival and although there were some communication issues with finding the place, once the technician arrived, he was able to fix it in a timely manner. He was super knowledgeable and professional while being very accommodating to my fiancé as he answered a lot of his questions concerning the repair. The cost was reasonable & we would recommend their services for anyone needing a plumber on short notice!

Prompt service, call back and arrived ahead of schedule.  Wade and Derrick were friendly, professional, timely, and ... did the job right the first time!  They took their time explaining the remediation - and gave all the information necessary to make an informed decision.  These guys are GREAT - and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, and again.  If I could award 10 stars, I would.  Thank you for a great experience!

Two stars for dispatch, five stars for the plumber Sergiy.  I was given a time frame 8-10am.  At 7:30, my cell phone was called while I was in the shower.  I called back later, not knowing who called me, because I have my phone set to screen calls from unknown numbers and R.R. did not identify themselves.  It appeared I had missed my chance for an early plumber.  I asked them not to call back, just come, but 1.5 hours later they did call from another number (again unidentified) and I missed that one, too.  I did not wind up seeing a plumber until 11:30, my morning gone.

However, Sergiy the plumber was helpful and did a good job.  He cleaned up well after his work and was pleasant.  I would definitely have him back to work at my house.

Derrick and Nealleigh were fantastic. They came out at 10pm and stayed with us until we figured out all of our plumbing issues. Customer Service is impeccable and we will definitely be recommending them in the future!

Woke up this morn and realized water was running somewhere, with that somewhere being in my crawl space. Called up roto rooter, which I've used a couple times before. They were able to give me an early time slot, before 11am, but the tech wasn't able to come out till around 1. Not that big of a deal and really glad they do call and update the status regularly.

Tech got here and it was the same guy that worked on my sink a few months back. Good guy and got to work right away with figuring out the problem. It was in my crawl space which isn't the most fun place to get to but he went straight to it.

After diagnosing, he gave me the estimate, then when I gave the go ahead he got the needed parts and was done within a couple hours. What I really like is that not only did he fix the issue, but also explained everything to me about what happened and why it happened. Also told me some other things regarding my plumbing with no pressure to do anything, just more of a heads up on certain issues.

So in all, while may be a tad bit on the pricey side, the service is really good with the tech I used and customer service is always nice and available. I'd def recommend them, at least for a free estimate.

They fixed a knob on my shower which only took less than 1 hr.  Labor $340!!! Update....Roto-Rooter reached out to me today and we successfully reached an agreement that we both find is fair.  Thank you for following up.

(Gastonia, NC) So after our last great experience with fixing the sink and tub, we asked technician 203 (Ronnie) to replace the entire water line.  We had original 1960s plumbing.  Ronnie stayed there working until late at night to get it done right.  We now have excellent water pressure.

Price was reasonable and the service was excellent!

Update: they did follow up and called back the next day offered a sincere apology and offer to make things right.

Called at 9pm because my kitchen sink was completely clogged. I wasn't going to wait after the night because we have a cat and she could play with the standing water and make a good mess. The agent told me that the technician will be there no later than 11pm, and said I'll receive a confirmation email and a text 30 minute before they get here.

Little did I know, I never got an email confirmation nor anyone showing up at my door until midnight. Someone called at 10 and said the technician is 45min away, but no one showed up till 1130. When I called in at Roto rooter to check, they told me to hold for two times, each time returning to me saying hold on more and kept laughing, clearly having a good talk among themselves based on the background noise. Then the call just ended during my wait and no one called back ever. I called in for a third time asking them to cancel because it's way after midnight. When I asked what happened why they can't make the time they promised, they simply said no one has been assigned to you house, what time do you want to reschedule to tomorrow? After I said I don't need to reschedule and just needed a cancellation, they just hung up. Maybe it's too much to ask for an apology when we sat at home doing nothing for 3 hours on a Saturday night waiting. Especially when someone called me to say technician was on the way, we pretty much just sat around watching tv and waited. Whole evening wasted sitting there like idiots waiting for no one... I could have used this time to call another reputable plumber, but now I have to devote my Sunday to this again. Totally ruined my weekend (the weekend before I'm going on a long business trip not seeing my family for the next two weeks). Thanks Roto! If you don't even have enough manpower to give proper cancellation notice, DO NOT PROMISE 24-7 SERVICE ON YOUR WEBSITE. Now I understand the $40 coupon on your website.

The whole experience is just so confusing and frustrating. Won't ever try them again. I'd rather go with Morris Jenkins knowing they'll charge me about 40% more.

We recently moved into a new house - an older home that had (in theory) been renovated from top to bottom.  Much to our surprise, two weeks after moving in our toilets and drains starting bubbling up.  We called Roto-Rooter and they came out within two hours of our placing the call.  Stan, the technician who arrived to help, diagnosed the problem within thirty minutes.  It was a serious problem, and he let me know right away that the problem had the potential to be expensive to fix.  One thing I would stress about my interactions with Stan (and, later Vasiliy and Dmitri) is that great pains were taken to keep me informed at every step of the process.  They never did any work without first telling me exactly what they were doing and why, and they always let me know about the cost before they proceeded with any work.  Moreover they were incredibly respectful of our property.  At one point Stand had the option of doing an additional test to confirm his diagnosis of the problem, but that additional test involved using a piece of equipment that might have caused some damage to our wallpaper.  I decided to skip the test because we love the wallpaper (and I didn't have any doubt about Stan's diagnosis of the problem anyway).  

We ended up needing our sewer line replaced all the way out to the street, and it required digging up our yard and taking apart part of our walkway.  The guys who worked on this project - Vasiliy and Dmitri - worked through the pouring rain until sundown each day.  They made sure to damage our yard and walkway as little as possible, and they did a great job of putting the yard back into the best shape possible under the circumstances.  

I don't really know if the job was expensive or not.  I supposed you could find people who would do this work for less.  However, given the honesty and integrity of Stan and his crew, their willingness to work well into the evening, the speed at which they worked, and the quality of the work they did, I'd absolutely call them again in a minute.  I hope to never have to call about a job of this size, but if I have any plumbing issues in the future I'll be calling and asking for Stan and his crew.

Same day service, kept me abreast of when technician was running late and then gave me status updates of arrival times, everyone I dealt with was very professional and polite. Will definitely use them again.

Emailed early this morning and had a technician at my house before 9am. Nealleigh listened to my explanation of what I needed fixed, quickly assessed my list, gave me the costs of the different scenarios for repairing my clogged toilet, and got to work. After a few different tacks, she got to the root of the problem and reinstalled my toilet. She was polite, courteous and personable. Cleanup was thorough, she wore shoe covers at all times inside my home. Will definitely contact Roto-Rooter for further plumbing needs and recommend both the company and technician (Nealleigh) to friends and family in need of their services. Due to her diligence and persistence, she saved me money, left me flush(ing).

Our shower drain was slowing and Drain-O wouldn't cut it. Pretty standard stuff, I think. Well, our lovely landlord decided that this was something he could fix for us. His highly skilled approach consisted of shoving one of my coat hangers into the pipe until it slipped from his grasp and completely blocked the drain. Time for the professionals.

Enter, Roto-Rooter. The guy they sent was a Cackalacky treasure. Firstly, he knows the building and its old pipes, and brings some equipment that he says will be gentle on them. That's swell. Then he gets down to business, heaving the pipe snake around and dragging up all kinds of disgusting mess, including a mangled coat hanger. How'd that get in there?

This prompts him to discuss the most unusual items that he has ever extracted from a drain. In a rollicking country accent he launches into colorful accounts of rats, snakes, and even a live raccoon. I'll spare you the gory details of a rat extraction from a South Boulevard restaurant bathroom, but our plumber/entertainer didn't.

This was the most fun I've ever had unclogging a shower drain.

Called due to an extremely slow shower drain.  Tech arrived quickly, explained what he would do and the MAX cost, did the work, and was gone for LESS than the max and within 20 minutes.

I am a tough critic (as many are) when it comes to service industry providers. This past weekend out upstairs bathroom sink had a leak that seeped through our downstairs ceiling. I immediately thought I'm not going with the big guys as I'll end up paying for advertising and overhead. So I called a smaller {not to be named} outfit who came out and took 2+ hours to price the job before telling me he had the wrong truck to snake the line ( I thought every plumber carried equipment to snake a line) and he wouldn't be back out until the following day to finish the job...the next day his assistant called and said he was out of commission and couldn't talk to me, but he would get back out on Wednesday...

Needless to say, I elected to call RotoRooter on Monday morning. They had a technician at my house within 60 minutes and had diagnosed the issue within 20 minutes of being there. Andrew did a great job of giving me options and letting me know what costs were going to be before doing the work. He had to call a second tech to help out clearing a clogged line, which they did in short order and again, with great communication. I felt the whole experience was how one would want it to go considering a leaky drain pipe.

Sergiy #7775 was very professional and nice.  He was very knowledgable and helpful.  Roto Rooter came out within a day of the call and arrived just when they stated they would arrive!  No complaints here!  Would highly recommend.

My problem: reoccurring sewer blockage thanks to roots from an intrusive crepe myrtle in my yard. I had earlier paid another contractor to fix the problem but four months later the problem blockage returned. Roto-Rooter guy explained that he'd have to do surgery to remove the invasive root in the sewer line.

Price of the unblocking the sewer was included in replacing the blocked sewer line--nice job but rather high price. The Roto-Rooter plumber knew his stuff and the job was completed before time and quite professionally. He even gave helpful advice on how I could fix a dripping faucet.

I called Roto-Rooter on Monday morning at 7 a.m., and Ricky was at my house by 9 a.m.  He was able to unclog my kitchen sink/garbage disposal in a matter of minutes, and he was very personable and professional.  The only reason I gave Roto-Rooter 4 stars instead of 5 was because the $213 bill caught me a little by surprise.  Then again, I didn't know what the going rate was for unclogging a drain.  Luckily, they were offering a $40 coupon!

Great customer service, but the reason I gave three stars is because of ridiculous prices. $250 to take out a Band-Aid and hair.

Had a clogged tub drain that I tried to snake myself.  Bad idea.  Called Roto Rooter at 9:30 PM to schedule an appointment for the next day.  Dennis was here at 8:15AM.  He had my drain cleared within a half hour and he fixed the drain I screwed up.  Then he provided some enzyme cleaner to use monthly that should help keep my old cast-iron pipes clean.  Super nice guy, very professional.  Great customer service!

Called in about a running facet. Although the customer rep was friendly and the service tech came on time; the price he quoted to a fix a facet was over $300 and that was just for labor. Told him to simply turn off the water and all he did was turn off the main water line and charged me $60 which the city would have done for free.

I understand that this company needs to recoup the cost of the free estimates from people who take advantage of the service, but taking advantage of potentially loyal customers is a terrible business practice.

Oh, and did I mention that the $50 off call-in coupon that the Customer rep said  was still useable was magically thrown out by the service tech. THANKS MONEY-ROOTER....I mean Roto-Rootor.

A tree root broke into our sewer line, cracked the pipe & caused a blockage late on a Friday night. So I called first thing Monday morning and scheduled a plumber to come on Tuesday at 11:30. My first bit of advice would be if you use Roto-Rooter, schedule the plumber to come first thing in the morning, so you are the first appointment. Otherwise you will be fooled into thinking your plumber will actually come at your appointment time! I understand that it is normal for a plumber to be late or a little behind, but not almost 4 hours behind, there is definitely a scheduling issue here. Honesty is important to me, I have things to do, so I was waiting around Tuesday for 3 hours for no reason. They should have just told me the truth, I would have rescheduled and done something else with my day. I kept getting calls with false updates and then finally I got the call at 2:30pm saying the plumber was on the way (not knowing if they are another 15, 30 minutes... or 1 hour away) but by that time it was too late, I had to go back to work, duh!

They apologized and scheduled me first on Wednesday morning, the plumber did arrive as promised around 9am. The blockage was fixed & the plumber was happy to share the details of what he would be doing and answer my questions.

It was a hefty $305 to unblock the pipes, then its another $60 for a big bottle of organic drain cleaner. Then I was quoted a ghastly $3400 to repair the problem, I cannot even process that right now. Overall, I gave 3-stars because the blockage was cleared and the plumber was friendly. I suppose if I was given more honesty on Tuesday and if the labor was more affordable I would have given more stars.

Found them on Angie's list and used a coupon. They did an excellent job of installing my new kitchen faucet.

Placed an online request for service at 7:00 and by 7:15 I had an appointment for the same day between 8-12.  Within an hour, I got a call that the plumber was on the way and 30 minutes later Sergiy came and got to work.  He was diligent and informative and courteous.  Very impressed with my interaction with RotoRooter.

James did a fantastic job!  My kitchen sink was badly clogged. I have called on the Charlotte Roto-Rooter office a few times and each time I have been met with a pleasant, concerned voice on the line who was able to get me the help I needed quickly. The service professionals showed up on time and were courteous. They provided helpful information about my plumbing and were able to fix the problem in a timely manner. One time, the serviceman told me what the problem was, and I chose to fix it myself. No charge for coming out! Wow! Shout out to Dave who was most helpful with our plumbing problem today!

Today I had 2 leaks under my kitchen sink. The sink hose was torn and water was pouring into the under-counter storage area. There was also a greasy leak coming from the pipes under the kitchen sink drain.

I phoned Roto Rooter at 7:15am and they responded quickly. By 8:30, a plumber was ringing my front doorbell. John, the plumber came in and inspected the job. He confidently told me he could fix it and set out to find a replacement spray hose. He returned quickly and fixed the problem - just as he promised.

While John was in my home, I remembered other leakage issues that needed attention: one in the crawl space under a shower stall that had recently been located during professional termite inspection and the other around a shower head extension tube that I had personally installed. John looked at the shower stall and also climbed in the crawl space under the house. After locating multiple pinhole leaks, he advised me to call in someone to replace the shower stall grouting.

John then looked at the shower head extension in the other bathroom and found a small leak which he fixed in no time.

Overall I was very satisfied with the plumbing service I received today. John the plumber was friendly, professional and proficient. My kitchen under-sink cabinet is now drying out. In an hour or two I'll be able to return all the kitchen supplies and close the door on the clutter. I'll be available to make dinner for my family and spend time with my child on homework without any interruption from a leak in my kitchen. Nor will I have to face a visual eyesore of kitchen cleaning products for another day.

We had our main sewage line back up on a Sunday afternoon.  Not a fun situation to deal with in the least.  We called Roto-Rooter and they had a guy out to us in about 45 minutes.  He cleared the sewer line that was being clogged by a tree root.  He had an additional guy come out with a camera to investigate where the root was and write up an estimate to repair the pipe.  I paid $300 for the technician to come out and clear the line and $150 for the camera guy to do his research.  I found these prices to be reasonable especially for the emergency nature of our issue.  I appreciated the estimate to do the pipe repair and the fact that the technician told us that it was not something that we would need to repair right away.  He could have easily lied and told us it needed to be fixed right away.  Thanks for the honesty!

I am a Commercial Property Manager and have had a recurring issue with clogged toilets in a two story retail building.  Vitaly (Roto Rooter) found the problem and got me a quick and reasonable quote to make the repair.  Roto Rooter Charlotte has become my go to plumber because they tend to be quicker to get to property and their prices are in line with, and sometimes better than, other plumbing companies.

I'm currently purchasing a home and asked Roto Rooter to come out and inspect the sewer line. I made the appointment days in advance and was told that the technician would come out between 8am-10am. I even called early in the morning at 7:30 to confirm, and was told again it would be between 8am and 10am.  I scheduled the appointment with my realtor (because you cannot enter premise without a realtor being there since I am only under contract) and we waited, and waited, and waited. I called back and was told no one had been scheduled for the service and it would be closer to 10am.
10am came and went. I called again, and I was scolded by the person on the phone that most technicians give a 4 hour window. I was told over 3 times that it would be a two hour window and told him so. They told me it would be more likely they would come around noon....so over the 4 hour window. I am completely disappointed because I tried to give more information than not, explaining I had a tight window and could only be in the house a certain time. They were sympathetic but didn't offer a resolution and could not give a time frame. We left the house after waiting 3 hours disappointed.

I called again to cancel, and they told me the technician would be there around 1pm...5 hours after the said 2 hour window would start.
I wish this business was more respectful of the time and customer service. I understand things happen but 3 out of 3 people didn't offer to reschedule, to give an updated time, make the matter urgent or apologize for the inconvenience.

Had a waterline leaking under a slab in a medical office building.  Needed leak detection, not something every plumber has.Need was urgent.  They were out there the next morning. Traced the problem down and got us some relief.  John E. the tech they sent out was easy to deal with and knowledgeable.  No time wasted.
Will certainly use them again.

Kevin did a great job helping us replace a hose bib we  attempted to change ourselves with disastrous results.  Had to turn off our water at the street Saturday afternoon and they had us restored by Sunday noon.  Only downside is we were given a 6 PM - 10 PM service window for Saturday evening and after several follow up calls, the last at 11:45 PM, they had to push us to Sunday morning.  Would certainly call again for emergency weekend work.

This is the second time I've used Roto-Rooter.  I called tonight after having issues with my hot water heater for 3 days and finally not having any hot water at all today.  I called at about 4pm and someone was at my house by 6:30pm.  The technician was very nice, profession, and best of all he fixed my problem quickly.  He didn't try to tell me that I needed a brand new water heater or anything crazy.  I've been pleased with their service on both occasions  Thanks!

Had Roto Rooter come out for a flood on our first floor.  The service guy was polite, but had some girl waiting in his truck the whole time he was at our house, which I thought was kinda weird.  
He did a good job of explaining what happened and did resolve the problem within a matter of a couple hours.  I think the service was overpriced for basically digging a hole and running a camera under the house.

I have a rental property where the tenant contacted me about a burst pipe with a lot of water in the bathroom and down the hall.  I called Roto-Rooter for the repair.  I was quoted a price for water remediation of about $1500 not including the actual plumbing repair.  I was billed almost twice that amount.  I contacted the guy that did the work and his explanation was There was additional that needed to be done.  He promised me a copy of the invoice several times and I have yet to receive.  I have been given nothing except the run around.

Gavin came out to help us with some plumbing issues.
He was very pleasant and proceeded to save us from having to replace our garbage disposal unit by a quick inspection and tweaking of the inner blades.
He proceeded to fix a drain leak and install a new kitchen faucet set and 2 bathroom sets with maximum efficiency. Found the labor costs a bit high but Angie helped defray the expense and Gavin by being conscientious saved me $250. on labor  and materials for the garbage disposal.

Wonderful service from Vasiliy! My kitchen sink wouldn't drain and the disposal want working. He arrived within the hour and fixed the problem within 30 minutes. He showed me what he did and also made sure the dishwasher water drained, too. I'm clueless when it comes to plumbing so I really appreciated his patience and thorough explanation! The plumber arrived right on time.  He was courteous and friendly.  He wasted no time and went right to work.  He solved the waste line blockage problem then recommended snaking the sink and replacing the attachment ring at the base of the toilet as the existing ring was cracked.  Dennis knew his work.  I have no complaints are all other than it did cost more than I thought it would.  However, it's over and the job was done properly and at this point that is what is more important.

I just had a sewer drain back up due to tree roots growing into the line. I contacted Roto-Rooter and they came out to repair within 2 hours. Hal Cail was my Master Plumber, and was wonderful and extremely thorough and professional. Hal went above and beyond explaining to me the issue and what I would need to correct the issue long-term. I would highly recommend Hal to anyone and suggest for anyone to use Roto-Rooter.

Called to have someone come over ASAP for overflowing toilet.  Said they would be there in less than a hour...3 hours later, nobody showed up.  NEVER call them in an emergency.

It is never a good time to have emergency plumbing such as the July 4th weekend.  But Roto-Rooter is the company that came through.  Interestingly our plumber today was Stan, same plumber who came 4 years ago for an emergency.  Stan is knowledgeable, professional, determined to solve the problem, good at explaining what the problem is and how to avoid it in the future.  Because of Stan's good services I would call Roto-Rooter for help again.  It is expensive but because of the good quality service and 24 hour availability it is worth it.

Excellent company & service.  I had used Roto Rooter before on 8/14 when they came out on a Sunday & professional service was given by Stan Sarlovskis who is a master plummer.   He not only fixed the problem but showed me exactly what the problem was on video as I have some of the piping that is cast iron.  I required service again on 11/16 as I had problems again with it backing up so I called Stan.  He was able to come out the next morning at 10 am & fix the problem.  I feel he was honest in telling me that eventually it will be best to replace it & in doing so it will cost around $ 2000.  I was able to get a coupon from the internet site to apply to the service & am really impressed as he showed up early before time he promised, professional, efficient & took care of my issue. He gave me other suggestions in the meantime to prevent this from happening & had recommended the Pipe clean product I had gotten from him which I had used with warm water soaking over night as preventive maintenance.  I retain the card with his # on it as he is a master plummer & I feel good about him plus company.  I would imagine price is about what you would pay with any comparable company but Stan was recommended by a friend that does work on custom homes so I feel like he knows how to pick out quality people to do work. I will use again & recommend.

Woke up to toilet water all over my son's upstairs bathroom floor.  Went downstairs to watch it as it poured into the main floor's bathroom!  I called RR at 6:30 am and by 10 am that morning, Nealleigh came and unclogged the toilet and rebuilt the inside of the tank!  She was kind enough to call Adolpho to come and take a look at our water damage.  He was prompt, and very courteous, and explained everything to me.  He even helped me when I called our insurance to start the claim.  The next day the restoration team came out and started pulling out all the damaged flooring and ceiling.  Every single one of these men, and woman!, were more than friendly, helpful, and just plain easy to work with.  The customer service, from the rep on the phone to everyone who came to my house, was top notch.  I will definitely refer them to others.

The technician arrived within the specified time frame.  He provided an estimate within the first 15 minutes.  Had to replace some of the pipes.  Had trouble getting one of the pipes to stop leaking.  He worked hard and was very apologetic that he was not able to complete the job that afternoon.  He came back first thing in the morning and was able to complete the job.  The technician was very hard working and professional.

A clogged kitchen sink the day before Easter was not part of the plan but Roto-Rooter saved the day. Our technician was Nealleigh Rice who was friendly, informative, and quick to clear the drain. Prior to her arrival, someone from Roto-Rooter called several times to provide status updates on when we could expect someone to arrive. Great experience given the circumstances.

Called RR.  Ronnie came out and fixed my problem.  My regular guy was on vacation .I had a broken fill valve in the commode. Arrived early in the service window. Quoted $205.  I told him I needed it fixed.  Like heart surgery, cost is not the driving force here.  Water won't stop running.  The job took a little longer than I thought it would but they insist on a new water supply line also for this repair.  Tack on $30 for a plastic pipe and fittings.  So here it comes: THE BILL!! $234.78  Wow.  Mmmf!   These folks have a high opinion of their service value.  It's hard to justify that in this consumer's brain, no matter how nice the plumber is or how on-time he is.  I have a problem.  I got fixed.  Why do I feel like I've been taken to the woodshed and paddled?  So, hopefully, I won't have to call them again.  This will make two plumbing jobs here: the First AND Last.

I just had a Roto rooter technician come to my house after I discovered water was leaking through the ceiling underneath my upstairs bathroom.  They came out, did a professional free diagnostic of the problem and I had an appointment set up to fix the problem in less than 20 minutes.  My technician was professional, knowledgeable and kind.  Also when he came back to fix the problem he made good on his promise not to suggest things I didn't need or try to make any price adjustments.  I would definitely rely on Roto rooter to be fair and competent.

Carlos was very nice.  The company did come out to fix our problem during the afternoon of the day AFTER we called.

Professional and reliable plumbing services with a great response time.  It was easy to make an appointment on their website.  I was able to choose a day and a four-hour time frame that was convenient for me.  The repairman was Ronnie S. (#203).  He called (on-time!) to ensure that I was available and to confirm that he was on his way.  I've got a leaky shower faucet.  Ronnie assessed the repairs and gave a reasonable estimate so I authorized the repairs and work began.  Unfortunately, the plumbing is old, Ronnie didn't have the parts he needed on his truck, and the leaky faucet had to be re-assembled.  It's still leaking.  I found and ordered the correct replacement parts online.  When they arrive, I'll call Roto-Rooter back out to complete repairs. Hopefully, I'll be lucky enough to get Ronnie again. He's a good plumber with decades of experience.  He really knows his stuff.   The only reason I'm not giving five stars on this review is because I will have to pay the labor charge twice, once to tear down and assess repairs and again after I get the parts to fix it.  At least I've got a reliable repairman and a reliable company behind the work.

Got up this morning (Sunday) only to find my mom's hot water heater had leaked everywhere! I went online & requested Roto-Rooter. Sergey came within the time period stated and diagnosed the problem quickly. Due to the equipment we had, he had to go get a part; however, he returned quickly and completed the task at hand. When giving my mother the invoice, Sergey offered a senior citizen discount, then suggested an online coupon to save her even more money. After everything appeared complete and payment was tendered, Sergey did one last re-check and that yielded a problem with the water pressure.  He then spent time and effort determining a second issue which he fixed. Before leaving, he reassurred my mother that all was in working order and gave her his phone number should she require anything further. I was truly impressed with the service, courtesy and kindness shown to my mom. (BTW, she's had 3 strokes and is hearing impaired. Sergey treated her as if she was HIS mother!)

RotoRooter saved the day or should I say night.  Sergey the service guy was at my home from 8:30pm until 11pm.  He was the best service guy ever, he took time to talk with me and explain everything.  The only problem I had was the amount of the bill but what could I do, I needed him to fix my clog.  He did tell me about a $40 coupon.
He even told me how to fix an issue I'm having with a leaking faucet.  Great guy!

My garbage disposal was malfunctioning so I called Roto-Rooter. They came over quickly (earlier than they said actually). He fixed the problem in a timely manner. I felt it was a bit pricey at $200 but I don't really know the going rate. Either way my problem is gone. I will use them again if need be.

We had a hole in our waterline and had the water shut off all day. Called Roto Rooter in Matthews NC. estimated arrival was 12-12:30pm (2 hours after calling them). They came an hour late (1:30pm). The guy walked in looked at the problem (which we already cut a hole in the dry wall to see the hole in the water line) and starts making sounds like ugh, tisk, ugh several times before he said a word! I had a problem that needed to get fixed I didn't need an attitude. Then quotes us an insane amount. We told him we weren't going touse his service but to start out with an attitude was uncalled for. We called R&R plumbing they came out in less than an hour was nice, courteous and fixed the problem in under 20 minutes.

Great service.  On-time, quick, thorough, responsive.  I booked online last night, and they showed up at 830am the next day.  Customer service rep called prior to let me know they were on their way, and within 15 mins, the guys were here.  An hour later they fixed the problem, gave me a quick tutorial on the line / what they did / what I can do to avoid the problem in the future.  Thanks Roto-Rooter!!

The service was great.  They came in the timeframe that I was given, and the service was fast.

I am located in Charlotte,NC. I had a leak from the shower in the master bedroom, that was dripping in my kitchen. I called Roto-Rooter. The representative was nice and helpful.  Anyway, the technician, John, got to my house 30 mins after making the call. John was professional. He got the job done quick and explained everything to me as he was working on it. The only thing I would complain about is the BILL, over $400.  That was way too expensive. I gave the 3 stars because the job got done and John was friendly.

We tried to get Roto-Rooter to come out for a bad leak under our kitchen sink (we couldn't use the sink) at 7pm. They told us someone would be there in an hour. An hour and a half went by, no one came. We called back, they said another 45 mins. Another hour or so, no one came. We called again and they said someone was on their way, no one came, we called back in another hour or so and they said no one was on the way. This went back and forth until 1am when we gave up and went to bed. We got a call the next morning but told them we wouldn't be using their services. They said they had system issues close to the end of that ordeal but that didn't explain why we were being jerked around for the 4 hours leading up to it. With all our calls in to check what was going on someone should have made sure we were scheduled or let us know if they couldn't get someone out there so we didn't have to stay up waiting half the night.

I am very impressed with Roto Rooter service. We had a flood at 3am Sunday Morning as soon as we woke up and decided who we would call to fix the problem, dispatch informed us that it would be 1 hour before they arrived. It was less than 1 hour they got there in 30 minutes. Keith  was excellent. He did everything he could to figure out the problem, and he did!! He went above and beyond!!  We have a 6 month guarantee on the work that was done. Keith explained everything to our understanding. I am overly pleased with the service. I would definitely recommend them to anyone I know!

RotoRooter saved my life! In early December, my tenant called me to say that her toilet was overflowing into her tub. Great. I had no choice but to call RotoRooter, not knowing what to expect. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did they send a plumber, but a Master Plumber at that! Stan worked long into the night to clear my sewer line, also running a camera at no additional charge. No easy task considering he had to pull my toilet to perform the work and struggle to get the snake and camera into the line. Stan was honest that even though he had cleared the line, my real problem was a broken sewer pipe. Sure enough, the problem reappeared at the worst possible time- New Years Day. Stan came to my rescue again, once more working long hours into a rainy and cold night, doing everything he could to identify and repair the problem at the least possible expense. He returned the next day to install an outside clean-out, then worked directly with the City Water Dept to determine the cause and location of the sewer line break- fiber conduit that was run straight through my line! Because of Stan's thoroughness and professionalism, the City was able to determine that the break was in the City right of way and therefore the City's responsibility to repair- saving me tons of potential cost. Stan was right there with me every step of the way, not leaving until we were sure that the City had everything under control. I can't say enough about the excellent and prompt service that Stan and the RotoRooter team provided. Highly recommended!

I was a little freaked out that I had to place an emergency call on a Sunday. I found the technician to be most helpful. He was kind, respectful and very efficient.  He did a great job. It was a bit pricey but he was upfront on the amount of time it would take and I knew roughly how much it would be.

When I discovered one night that I did not have hot water, I called Roto-Rooter in the morning to have someone check my water heater. They were going to send someone out right away but the evening worked better for me. While the first experience with the plumber that night wasn't desirable, the plumber they sent out the next morning was very pleasant, had the part I needed in his van and fixed my water heater right away. Even though it hurts my wallet to call a plumber I've never had any problems with Roto-Rooter. They are professional and dependable and would recommend them to anyone.

They came out quick, but was also quick to take my money! They gave me an estimate that was $200 over the next guy who did the job swiftly and clean! Don't call them unless you are ready to overpay!

My husband informed me that our sewage drain pipe was backing up in our front yard.  It was 5:30 pm when I called.  Roto-rooter had someone at my house by 7pm that evening.  They were quick, efficient, and professional.

I was very reluctant to try Roto Rooter but since I didn't personally know a plumber I took a chance after reading reviews on Yelp.  I called them on a Monday morning and the tech was at my home in less than 2 hours.  I was very pleased with my tech's honesty and the explanation of my clogged sewer drain.  Since part of the problem originated on the city side, the quote that was provided initially was reduced.  All in all it was a good experience.  I will call them again if needed.

We live on the outskirts of Charlotte NC. We had a broken water pipe in the front yard and the Roto Rooter plumber did a great job. He explained the situation to me and was very thorough. When I first called Roto Rooter, they said they could come the same day and were at my door within a few hours. I was very glad they could come out so quickly and the plumber was able to do the job right away. Overall, we were very pleased.

I had technician 3698 come out when our toilet water was bubbling.  He did a great job!  He put a camera down inside the pipes to show me how water was settling in the pipes and not going all the way through.  I would recommend Roto Rooter to friends ( and have)!

Very impressive!! I was very impressed with this service. They have technicians that work 24 hours a day. This plumber actually showed up!! I called several plumbers before and everyone said they was coming but they never showed and never called to say that they were not coming. This company was here when they were supposed to here and gave a courtesy call when the technician was on his way.

They did the job well, plain and simple. Drain was clogged Saturday night so I went online and requested service for the 9-11 window on Sunday. Got immediate email confirmation, a phone call at 8 am Sunday with an approximate arrival time. Ed showed up at 9:30 and was a consummate professional. Explained what he was doing, gave great pointers on how to prevent future clogs and left no mess behind. I would definitely call Ed back to do other plumbing work in my house. FYI, website has a $40 coupon.

We called Roto Rooter to help with a toilet that was not flushing due to a clog in our drains.  We placed the call at 10 am and they a technician was there by 1PM.  They did a good job getting the toilet draining properly.  Our only issue was with the price and the marks at the bottom of the toilet from the auger used (that will most likely come up with a bit of elbow grease).  First the technician tried the auger for a couple of minutes and that did not help with the clog and that service would have cost $160 which was pricey to us.  Then the technician wound up taking the toilet off and ran a snake 75 feet through our drains that got the clog out.  The that service cost $468 minus a $40 coupon.  Overall the technician was friendly, willing and able to answer any questions and they were quick to respond.  My only issue is the price.

When I called, the technician arrived at my home within an hour and a half. He diagnosed the problem an unclogged the affected toilet line in about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. The reason for giving them four stars instead of five stars was the $468.00 bill which caught be by surprise because I was only expecting maybe about 2/3 the amount (around $300) other than what was actually charged.

Our Saturday was going to plan when we came home from a nice dinner only to find our first floor completely under water. Our reaction was tremendous shock  as out new carpet, hardwoods floors, and furniture was sitting in water. Immediately we needed to act on cleaning up and solving this drastic issue. I called Roto-Rooter and within the hour Eddie - 1336 showed up at our house to remedy the situation. Without even knowing how much we were freaking out Eddie came in like a true professional and acted quickly. His years or experience helped him almost immediately pinpoint the issue which was a clogged main sewer line. Eddie was assertive, professional, and made sure we knew we were in goods hands. Eddie was personable throughout the entire ordeal making my wife feet at the utmost comfort level knowing we were getting to the root of the issue. Eddie proceeded to snake the main water line and determined the cause of the back up was a broken pipe that was located under the driveway. Eddie proceeded to walk me through what he was doing to ensure I was comfortable with the clearing of the line.  He placed the camera on the snake and proceeded to show me and explain to me in a very personable manner what the problem was, how it was resolved, and how we can prevent the issue from happening again. To top it all off Eddie provided me with a DVD video of the procedure as evidence to show the HOA in the case it is there responsibility. Even after everything was resolved, Eddie made sure we were 110% satisfied with the experience as he let us run water, flush toilets etc until we were overly happy. Eddie did not waste any time while tending to the issue and was about as efficient as I have ever seen in a service call. On top of everything Eddie and I were able to speak on a personal level after the call while settling the payment and in short I was sad to see him go. Eddie was a true professional and a true master of his craft. I will be sure to call and recommend Roto-Rooter to any and every person I can after this experience. In addition, I am recommending them to our company (property management firms with 1,500 apartments units) to use for all future plumbing issues pertaining to our properties.
