Awesome company with great professionals

Jason came to my house the same day I called and knocked out our problem in less than one hour. He was professional, he explained the situation clearly and was very willing to do whatever it took to get us fixed and comfortable with what happened.

Will definitely be using them again!

...I would never and l repeat never use .. this

company again. They are very overpriced and use dishonest business practices. They will take your hard earned money and not guarantee their work and stick you with extra expensive fees that fattens their wallets. Avoid On Time Electrical so you don't regret it like I did. Do not be fooled by all their high ratings. Read the low ratings first.  Tells the real stories. Shop around this company is not reliable or honest. I wish I had!

11:00am, first call. The person I spoke to (Roxanne) was very nice, I explained my issue with her. She was getting to a dispatcher when and put me on hold. I waited about 10 minutes. She got back on the phone and said she was still waiting for a dispatcher. Placed me on hold again, which switched over to voicemail. I didn't leave a voicemail because I was waiting for her and after three times the voicemail said I didn't leave a recordable message, the call dropped.

11:21am, called back. Got a brand new person who had no idea who I was. During this brief call, I got a call back from my original call so I told this very unhelpful person that I was going to call the number back.

11:28am, called back on the off chance I would get Roxanne back. Nope... I spoke to another lady who pretended to take my issue, number and name down and promised to call me back.

12:38pm. I called back to see where we were at in contacting the dispatcher. New lady. No record of my call. Told me the person who took my information had left for the day. After taking my information and the address of the issue, told me that this company does not service apartment buildings. My building was completely upfit in 2009. Still no.

After wasting this much time on a valid emergency, they left me hanging. I will never contact them again. Complete waste of my time, don't waste yours...

I used On Time Electrical for the first time, as my condominium had a few receptacles go out. The staff had good communication and was flexible scheduling an appointment with the tenant but as a real estate investor, I would not recommend this company. The amount I was charged to fix 3 receptacles was ridiculous. From when I received the quote to when I got the receipt, the total time of the job was about 20-30 minutes. I was charged about 6x the normal price of 15 AMP receptacles, which you can buy in the stores for about $30. For $769, in my opinion, this is price gouging. This should have been $200 - $400 the most for how minor the issue. This will be the last time I use On Time Electrical, and will let other investors know about this experience.

When I called initially, I told the receptionist that our sewer pump was not working because there was something wrong with the control panel.  I told them that we were able to push a button on the control panel, which would pump sewage to the street, but that the control panel was no longer automatically doing this. When the guy came out he said they don't work on the control panels, stayed about 5 minutes and left. He told me all they could do was to verify the control panel was getting electricity. I told them that I was able to manually push the sewage to the street, so we already knew it was getting electricity. He stayed around five minutes and charged me the trip fee. When I called the office, they told me they would try to find someone to do the work, but never called me back.

So Travis showed up to our place to relocate a plug and install one. We are currently remodeling our kitchen and had access to the crawl space from the kitchen because we thought it would speed up the process.

The original quote was about 1200 dollars (rounded up) which seemed high and he tells us that it's less than what his boss said he should charge but that he's gonna give us a deal with his personal price. (Weird but ok) he even tried to upscale on a upgrading from 100 amps to 200. It sounded like a good idea but it wasn't in the budget, so we pressed on. I looked at the cost and it was for four hours of labor. Installing two plugs and pulling a permit. I had a quick discussion in private and we decided that our best option for now would be to just do the one plug since that's what our budget allowed at the moment. So now the new quote is 600 dollars (rounded down) for a lot less work.

This entire time, he is moving slow, getting prepped and changing papers up for us to sign while I go ahead and prep the floor for easy entry.

Then the madness starts. He spends a good amount of time on the phone and taking pics and lets us know he can't do anything unless he re works all the electrical and changes everything around and then goes through and explains what it will take to do it. He said he can get a parts list for us and a quote and so I thought we might as well since he is here. After being in his truck for thirty min he comes back saying it will be over ten grand to do it right and up to code.

Obviously, this was well outside of the budget but he came back and quoted us 10 grand. At this point we just wanted to pay him his diagnostic fee and send Travis on his way. But then he charged us the fee plus 3 hours of labor with zero work done... I was pissed because now that's 100 dollars less than what the original job was supposed to be.

We spoke to his supervisor and had the price drop down but I was really suspicious of the entire process now and it made me feel this is standard predatory practice for this worker or company. So I felt I needed to write a review to share this and just advise against using this company.

Again Travis did zero labor while here. We prepped the kitchen and pulled up the floor boards because he did not want to go down into the crawl space. He constantly needed to check in with his boss making us feel like he wasn't sure of what he was doing. Trying to charge us $500 for a diagnostic visit when the second quote was a little over $600 is a scam.

Great service. Extremely fast and efficient. I recommend asking for Cale. He was very professional, personable, and got exactly what we needed done to our house and went the extra mile in making all of outlets look nice and new. Extremely happy with this company's service. Would recommend to anyone in the Charlotte area.

The plus - good telephone answering service, prompt dispatch, and yes - they were on time.  For simple things they might be the right choice.  Note there is a $27 trip charge (PLUS TAX)

The negative - maybe was just bad luck in who they sent but the electrician was not interested in problem solving - left me with a big repair issue due to a cut line in the yard and no workaround - said I would need to install another meter!  Another electrician came and was able to figure out a way to run a new line.  So the problem could have been solved by On Time IF their electrician had taken a moment to think about helping instead of moving on to something else.

So again, if your problem is simple - they might be the right choice

This happened to me.  Lesson to be learned.  I had ordered some appliances from Lowe's to be installed.  When plugging stove it sparked.  The Lowes. Installer checked, and there was a loose wire.  He said your breaker switch did not trip.  You should have this checked.   He said that is an old Zinsco panel box.  You might  want to see if it needs a new switch or if panel needs to be replaced.  I looked on line for what I thought was a reputable electrician company.  I called ON TIME ELECTRICAL. (Also Ben Franklin plumbing).   I told them I need to have the panel box checked,  to see if I need just a new switch for the stove, or a new panel.
They were very prompt to respond, and sent a repairman named Newman.  He was very nice, looked at box the told me I don't want to scare you, but this is a fire hazard.  He said look at the pictures of this fire, in this complex,  caused by this old panel box.  Very dangerous,  your house could burn, and you could be in real danger.   I know nothing about electrical stuff.  I am a 70+ year old woman.  He certainly made me afraid.
He gave me a price to replace the panel and said his price was about the same as all other companies.   I am 70+ , and on a fixed income, but if you are afraid of fire, you say ok let's fix it.  The price was $3,000.  That's 4 months of my income.

Two weeks later, I have a knock at the door.  It is Duke Energy representative.  He asked if this was my home, and if so, did I have some work done.  He said did you have a licensed person do the work.  I said yes here is my invoice from the company, ON TIME ELECTRICAL.  He told me to get them on the phone. The Box-was impropriety wired.  My meter was running backwards, that's how Duke energy knew to come out.
Duke representative could not believe this person was licensed.   He told them to get out and wire this correctly.  He also asked them why they did this job.  He told me that these old Zinsco panels are  owned by a Duke, and they replace them for free.  I almost fainted-  free vs $3000. I paid ON TIME ELECTRICAL.

I called ON TIME ELECTRICAL , the guy was sympathetic and apologetic.  He said we will make it right.  He didn't call me back- when I called and left word that I would come to their office- then called me back and said the owner said we fixed our initial incorrect wiring, don't  care if Duke would do it free.  You paid , we're done
Then hung up on me when I called back.
This is not right.  They incorrectly wired the panel, and Duke would have done the job for free , not $3,000.   A reputable company would have know this, I am told.
BEWARE of this company,  ON TIME ELECTRIC also know as BEN FRANKLIN PLUMBING.
I asked for the company,  and repairman Newman's license- no one returned my call.
I don't know what to do.  I want to warn other people like me.  How do these people sleep at night?

Arthur was the absolute best. Checked out an issue I was having with some smart switches I installed (incorrectly!). He was able to fix the issue and even reordered the switches the way I wanted them (3 switches on the same panel). 100% professional service. Cleaned up after he was done (and even cleaned the little mess I had initially made getting it all started). I would not hesitate to use them again. In fact, I plan on having some outlets moved in a month or two and will be calling them back to get it done.

Called them for a service request on an early Saturday evening. There website indicates 24/7 service. After 35 minutes on hold of just a loop of recordings I hung up. I called another Electrician and got an answering service 5 minutes after taking to them I talked with the electrician. They are on the way as I speak. For a company who advertises customer service, they need to better understand what that means!!

Our experience was not good and found them to be unprofessional. They make you schedule in 4-hour blocks like Time Warner. Scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning...they never called, text and never showed up. Get a call from them after 6pm to say the tech was overbooked. We kindly rescheduled for Sunday morning......the tech didn't call and finally just showed up just after 1pm. He didn't have the part on the truck (really?) so he didn't do anything but inspect it. My fiancé paid in advance for the rescheduled installation, since he would be out town the following weekend. Of course when we called to reschedule 2 weeks later...there is an extra fee for weekend and no one is available until Monday. Asked for manager to let them know we had pre-paid...of course no supervisor is around. Then we are told the tech that came out the first time was off for the weekend....and we could call him directly. Why, would the customer have to call someone who is not at work to ask or tell them to come into work!?!?!  We will request a refund for the inconvenience, lack of service and unreliable service. Don't use this company unless you want the (stereo) typical sheisty contractor.

Matt Purcell at On Time Electrical was amazing!  A tree company dropped a tree on our power line late Wednesday night, which destroyed our outside panel and meter box as well as caused a major power surge in the house.  Matt arrived first thing Thursday morning.  He quoted a price that was in-line with other quotes we received.  Matt was able to get a county inspector out the same day.  Other companies said it could take up to 2 days (County computer systems were not working at the time).    Final price matched the job estimate exactly.  No hidden costs.  He even included a year membership with future benefits.  After the power company restored the power line, Matt returned on a Saturday morning, free of charge, to inspect the inside of the house.  The power surge did not damage inside wires, but fried several appliances including our gas furnace.  Matt diagnosed the furnace and was able to suggest a temporary fix, so we could have heat until Monday (again, free of charge).  He also gave us thorough documentation to provide to our insurance company.  Most importantly, he answered all of my questions in plain English, and gave us much needed piece of mind in an awful situation.
