Reviews
I recently had issues with my water heater. North Meck plumbing was able to come out and provide an assessment and estimate on the work. Within a very short timeframe...the work was scheduled and my new water heater was installed. The North Meck team (Hal, Dave, Tim) did an amazing job.
Also, I needed other work performed and they were able to replace the water connections for my washer!!! The work was done very professionally even with the limited work area.
North Meck Plumbing has always been very reliable. I would recommend them for any plumbing related work!!!
Had a massive leak going somewhere under my home - no signs of flooding or anything. Called North Meck in the morning and described my problem; they had Drew and Roger come by in the afternoon. They were extremely pleasant to work with and thorough. They found the problem, talked me through the remediation and fixed it on the spot. They removed a busted pipe below the ground and fit a new PEX pipe in its stead. Everything about this experience makes me want to work with North Meck again (but only if need be). Thanks Drew and Roger!

I was referred her by a friend who has also had top notch experience with these plumbers. I'm always nervous with work like this because I don't know much about it.
I was immediately put at ease with my first call in to the office. They were very accommodating to my family's situation. The repair need was at my parents house and I was anxious about a 2hr arrival window because I live 10 minutes away and have twin toddlers at home.
They called before they arrived so I could meet them at the house. The repair was done more quickly than I anticipated and turned out to cost less than I had feared. Ken and his partner did excellent, efficient work.
I will confidently refer them on and also call them first for our next repair needs!
We recently bought a home and had a home inspection done. A toilet needed the insides replaced as the water level wasn't enough and didn't flush well. It continually ran. The previous homeowner contacted North Meck Plumbing. They charged over $200 to replace the inside parts, tightened down another toilet and said all three were fine. We closed on the house and that night the toilet ran most of the night & still didn't flush right. After calling the previous owner, we got in touch with the plumbing company and set up a service call. They came out and argued this could have happened since they did the work. Really? This is what they were suppose to fix. Then they admitted the insides were not replaced and said the other 2 toilets were about to break too. Thought they looked at the other 2 & said they were fine. So after another $400 they say they are good. I feel like they took advantage of the previous owner and way overcharged us. I would not recommend this company! We should have just bought new toilets.

North Meck Plumbing did the original plumbing in our house when we built it in 2003/2004 and we have used them since. They are very responsive and knowledgeable. Recently we had some extensive plumbing issues (that were definitely not the fault of North Meck - some septic related, some a long story for another day). North Meck assisted us after hours when our basement bathroom was backing up, and provided us a contact who called us to assist us if we have further troubles over the weekend.
They have a camera that they used to diagnose some of our issues (I hope you never need that, but it's great to figure things out way down in the depths of your plumbing). They listen to what I had to say about the problems and used that to help them troubleshoot and ultimately figure out and fix our issues.
We have also price compared them when we replaced water heaters over the years and North Meck has consistently come in lower.
After using them for 15ish years I can say without reservation that Robbie and Hal run a great company with a professional and knowledgeable crew. And my husbands family had used them for years before us and would also agree. Highly recommend them.
After getting two quotes on what to do with my tankless hot water heater not giving constant hot water. I looked up BBB accredited plumbers as well as certified Rinnai Pros- both of which North Mecklenburg Plumbing was listed. I spoke to Hal and he was not pushy at all! He was up front about the hourly charges and didn't attempt to solve the problem over the phone. We still continued getting quotes- from replacing the unit to installing a recirculating system (both of which were upwards of $3k). One Co. even lied about seeing error codes. So we called North Meck and spoke to someone else- who again wasn't pushy, but provided a plan of attack. Start with descaling the unit and by a process of elimination see what might be wrong. Dave came out within 2 hrs. - descaled the unit, fixed a leaky faucet and discovered our main cut off switch wouldn't turn and was leaking. Poor man had to crawl under our house- reinstall a new cut off switch/pipe. He wouldn't leave until we had hot water! The whole day- 2 days before Christmas, Dave and his assistant stayed! Thinking I would have to get a second mtg to pay for this, he gave me the bill and I was so happy that it was reasonable- not near the other quotes we received. I know the labor was more than the parts- but I'm paying for that expertise and experience. Dave took a systematic approach to identify the issue, which really showed his knowledge of all things plumbing. I taped the number on the water heater and will certainly refer and call North Meck again. Keep in mind they are BBB, A+ rated and a Rinnai Pro. Worth the piece of mind to hire folks that take this seriously. Get other quotes- then call Hal, ask for Dave to come out :)
To make a long story short, they over-charged us for time that wasn't spent fixing our issue. After charging for 4 hours and maybe worked a total of 3 hours, they couldn't resolve our problem and said they would need to break up our concrete driveway and dig a 5 foot hole to get something that was clogging a pipe out of it. They estimated it would cost close to $5000 on top of the $600 they had already charged me to accomplish NOTHING. Not only were they unable to resolve my issue, but a different plumbing company came and gave me an estimate of only $2500 for the same job. Turns out both companies just wanted to take advantage of me because with 5 minutes of research I was able to find a $50 tool and was able to do THE JOB I HIRED THEM FOR with help from my father-in-law. And obviously neither of us is a licensed plumber. Be careful and don't get taken advantage of by them.
These guys are fantastic. They are always quick to respond and get there on time. They do a great job and are as nice as can be no matter who comes to do the job.
Don't call this company for an estimate unless you want to be charged $190 for nothing. In addition, the charge came after we decided to go with another company that completed the same job for 65% less money. Be careful if you go with them to not be taken advantage of.

I have used North Mecklenburg Plumbing Company numerous times since moving to Huntersville in 2006 and have always been totally satisfied with their work. I always have had complete confidence in their diagnosis and have never had any problem with the work they have done for me.
This business was originally recommended by our builder in Huntersville. I was fortunate to have had a reference when the time came. I have used them on a few occassions and they have always been respectful, thorough and affordable. Keep up the great work ethics.
Our water heater went out. They came out the same day we called and installed a new water heater before noon. The customer service was incredible We r very happy and would recommend this company for any plumbing problem you may have.
Wow! Great service from this company. Had a water heater issue and they responded within 30 minutes. Hal found the problem immediately and we were up and running within minutes. Professional, honest, nice people. Thanks Hal and Luke!
Exceptional service! I had a plumbing emergency on a Friday afternoon and Hal went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of before the weekend. Thank you!
Was disappointed by their lack of consideration. Their van parked in front of my house on the sidewalk and blocked my view from pulling out of my driveway. I asked them to move the van and they belligerently refused. Who does business like that? I would never use their services.... ever. Shame on them.

I am surprised by some if these Yelp reviews that are low or claim unethical behavior. Our experience was exceptional! We used North Mecklenburg Plumbing to replace a water heater. Hal (President of the Company) was very helpful and professional, answering our questions. We scheduled the work and were impressed by their knowledge. Travis and troy were wonderful, patient and answered our questions, even providing advice on some other plumbing related issues. We would definitely recommend them and will use them again.
Very unprofessional. Insisted on replacing a water heater without even looking at it. Once they looked at it they said Its old, I told you it would have to be replaced! even though they stated it was functioning properly. They even included the exclamation point on the invoice. Really unbelievable.
Friendly staff, reasonable prices and efficient service. What more could you ask for? We've been using North Meck. Plumbing for over 15 years and have always been pleased with their professionalism and level of service. I would highly recommend them.
