This review is long overdue.... I contacted Mike because my grandmother was having plumbing issues and likes to have things done quickly. She has anxiety issues and becomes a bit helpless during situations such as these. So I search Craigslist and came up on Mike's advertisement. Upon contacting Mike he carries a professional manner and when asked about reviews (I constantly check reviews) he forwarded me to Yelp. I read the reviews and we confirmed an appointment for that day. During his time at my grandparents home in Brooklyn, he was able to discover something was deeply clogged into the drainage. He was very comforting and caring to my grandmother (I wasn't at the appointment as I live in Manhattan) and fixed the issue. The thing with this situation that gives one of the reasons for the 5 stars is that he not only communicated the situation with my grandmother but with me on the phone as well. See there was a bit of confusion as there were some issues in the neighborhood as well but he double checked rather than just taking a tip and thank you. He went back into the house and into the basement where WAH LA th clog was unclogged. '

Second time I contacted Mike same scenario, professional and attentive. However the plumbing issue was resolved this time it was the sewage. As he couldn't take care of this issue and I have no idea about this kind of stuff he forwarded contact information to a sewage professional.

I hired Mike about 2 years ago to replace the tub overflow gasket because water was leaking from it. He went to the Home Depot and bought their standard flat gasket and he said many times you can use other gaskets. He charged me $150, for something any DIY can do. The leak is still an issue and I saw that his gasket from The Home Depot didn't even fit. I found a better fitting gasket, but it has not been good enough. I later told Mike about his work, but he didn't offer anything. I'm seeing now that I need a certain beveled gasket, thinner than the one sold at the Home Depot and am in the process of looking for it. At the completion of his job, he asked me to give him a good review on yelp.

Michael is a true professional, he knows his trade and cares about his customers. I can't recommend MTR mechanical enough.

I've been meaning to get my kitchen faucet replaced for months, and finally contacted Mike after seeing an ad on craigslist. After searching through companies who quoted twice as much and twice as much time to get the job done - Mike replaced my faucet in half the time for half the cost. Will definitely give him a call the next time I have plumbing issues!

I spent about an hour on my own to drain my water lines and bleed as much air as I could, without success. I contacted Mike at MTR mechanical because of his great reviews, and he delivered on it. I contacted him on a Sunday and although it was his day off, he spent 30 minutes with me on the phone to diagnose the problem with my heater. To my surprise, he went on to guide me through the steps to fix it. He was above and beyond in his helpfulness and clarity to guide me. He could have said that he wasn't working for on Sunday, but instead he was very professional and kind enough to help me. I fully recommend Mike because of his demeanor and willingness to help. Mike is very responsive!  After my husband and I thought we could change our bathroom sink faucet ourselves, we were defeated when the bolts were rusted shut.  We quickly found Mike on yelp and I gave him a call.  It was the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and Mike offered to come on memorial day.  He was very prompt to arrive and quickly started on the faucet.  Mike noted that he would have to saw the old faucet off in order to replace it.  He was very quick and even cleaned up after himself.  I would highly recommend Mike if you have any plumbing needs, especially with your sink.  Thank you Mike!

I made an appointment and I took the day off work to be home for Mike to fix a leak. He left me waiting all day! He called to say he'd be an hour late but when he didn't show up I called him again and then he said he would take ANOTHER hour to get to me.  I am disappointed I called this company. I wasted a whole day sitting home waiting for him instead of going to work and getting paid.

Mike came over on short notice to fix a leak underneath my kitchen sink.  He followed up with me about my time slot and gave me an update when he was running late. Friendly and provided an excellent job and explained what was causing the leak. Affordable and well worth the price I paid! Job was done and he also cleaned up after himself, which is a major plus!

Mike is an outstanding professional. Replaced my broken dishwasher with a new one. Very careful with his work. In addition, since I needed an ASAP work as my original installer left me hanging, he accommodated me on the same day I called, which was today! He also came at exact time he told me he would come. He thinks through the best solution for the issue and will do exactly what's needed for the job. He's worked on several plumbing problems that have cropped up for us in our new build Brooklyn home that weren't finished correctly, and for all of them, he has shown up speedily, promptly, and helped us resolve the issue in the best way possible. He's also just a really great person. I cannot recommend him enough.

Mike was pleasant and professional from start to finish. He helped me fix a leaky faucet, an issue a previous plumber can't seem to fix. His pricing is also amazing! I've called several places and he was the most reasonable. I will definitely use Mike again!

We had a minor plumbing emergency a leaking sink trap and called MTR in the late afternoon on a Saturday. They asked if I needed the work that day I said no it could wait. We made an appointment for the following business day, Monday at noon and Mike showed up promptly at noon. Work was done quickly and cleanly. After watching him work I asked him if he could replace a kitchen faucet with one I had bought but never got to install myself. Plumbers do not usually like for you to supply your own materials but he agreed to do it then as he had the time. As it turned out there was a problem but Mike took care of it and resealed the sink while he was at it. I am very satisfied with his work.

Mike has resolved the leaking drain in my kitchen sink.  We waited for a couple of days due to his busy schedule.  Finally he came Saturday to repair the sink.  He kindly apologized for not coming earlier, which was very nice of him.  
He explained why the drain in sink was leaking.  He fixed it and also tighten the pipes under the sink.  He checked the connecting pipes to dishwasher which was fine.
As far as pricing was concern, he was definitely reasonable and fair in his services.  I would definitely recommend him to others as well.
Also, he reminded me if any future issues with the sink, he will gladly come again and look at it.  
Again, thanks Mike for your great professional services.  It is hard to find a great plumber these days.

P.S.  He is also took his shoes off before he entered my house which is unheard of these days.

I too was referred by another plumber who was top-rated on Yelp, but  (probably as a result of the Yelp bump) was too busy to fix the rather serious leak in my ceiling. I suspect that Mike will also soon be turning work away. I'll certainly use him for future work and recommend him to friends.

He was polite, clear in explaining what needed to be done, did high-quality, very neat work. And his price was very reasonable.

Mike came to work on my upstairs neighbor's toilet after it began leaking into my apartment.  He was available to come in the evening, so no one had to miss work, which was extremely helpful.  He arrived on time, got right down to the work at hand, and left the area clean and tidy.  He explained everything he was doing and was very polite and respectful.  He fixed the problem and guarantees his work.  His price seemed very reasonable to me. I had several plumbing issues and Mike was an absolute joy to work with. He set up an appointment, showed up on time (actually early), spent almost 4 hrs and all my issues were addressed as well as educating me on what i should be aware of for future possible issues. I cant recommend Mike enough.

I had an urgent plumbing problem on a weekend. Mike was referred to me by another company, who couldn't come for 5 days. He came over immediately and fixed the problem for a reasonable charge. A few weeks later, when I needed the equipment checked again, he returned to make sure all was ok for no charge. Can't do better than that.

Smart problem solver, that's Mike. We got lucky. Another plumber who couldn't take our small job referred us to Mike.  That turned out well for us.  He had to disconnect sinks one day then return another day to install and hook up other ones.  He is knowledgeable, neat, personable and efficient.  The price was fair.  We already hired him again for another project.

Mike is a great plumber. He explains the issues very clearly. I trust his judgement on repairs that are needed. He answers his phone all the time.  He even helped me do an immediate fix on an issue because he couldn't arrive until the afternoon. He is so so helpful.  I can't recommend him enough.  Very professional and provides fast service.  Very friendly too.

Came the same day and took care of my small plumbing problem. Highly recommended

mike is a fantastic plumber. when i needed his services, he came to my restaurant the next day to fix the sink. he was here for less than a half hour and fixed everything, from the leaky faucet, to the clogged drain, and another faucet that didn't stop running. 3 weeks of problems for me fixed in 25 minutes with next day service, all for a very reasonable price. i know who i'll call next time i need a plumber, that's for sure. thanks mike!

Completely unprofessional. I booked him days in advance. Took the day off to be home for him to come. My appointment rolls around and no plumber. I text him. Nothing. I finally call and he tells me that he's taking the day off because of the weather. FIrst off, it's only raining outside right now. The snow wont even arrive until later tonight. Secondly, he didn't even bother to call and alert me that he wasn't working today.

Do not use or if you're glutton for punishment, use at your own risk.

We're wrapping up a renovation and have now hired Mike a few times for our various plumbing work - installing kitchen sink and disposal, capping old lines, etc.  Each time he's come, he's been gracious, professional, and well-priced.  He has effectively problem-solved around our 80-year-old brownstone plumbing, and has gotten the job done efficiently and neatly each time.  Very happy to have found a great plumber!  We will certainly use him again.

We were referred to Mike via another plumber that was top-rated on Yelp, we're so glad we got the recommendation and will be using Mike for any future plumbing jobs.  

We had a problem with a blocked sump pump in our basement.  Mike was extremely responsive.  He stopped by on MLK day to do an initial assessment of what he needed to be done, he then explained to us very clearly his approach.  He then came back today and spent several hours troubleshooting and ultimately fixing the problem.  Mike is very personable, reliable and his work is top notch and reasonably priced - we highly recommend him!
