L Pini & Sons

I have been using L Pini and Sons for years now and here's why. Recently I had a leak in my shower. I called them at 8am and were at my place that morning sorting out my problem immediately.

They are old school and approach the work accordingly, like when they fixed my water heater (2 other plumbers recommended replacing it). It's been working for over 3 years now with no issues since they fixed it.

Any issue I've had has been fixed. Anything that might need a tweak they come back and address it quickly.

Laura is very responsive and helpful when it comes to scheduling appointments and keeping you informed if there are any changes or unexpected delays. I've never had to wait more than a day or two for an appointment either.

Pini and his partner arrived on time and knew the building inside and out. They are professional and polite and he is ever so sweet with my little girl.

They've done everything for us from hooking up our washer dryer and piping to creating a hose outlet outside in our backyard. They've even done great work in my tenants apartment when a pipe started unexpectedly leaking from two floors up!

I'll definitely have them come back to help with the piping in our kitchen and bathroom renovations as well given their prices are so fare and reasonable.

They did a great job in installing three toilets in my home. Price came in under quotes from two other out of town plumbers. Plus, scheduling was easy. They were very professional. Highly recommended.

The guys did a pretty big job and charged fairly. The job entailed re-routing the water lines 10 feet to accommodate a new washer / dryer. $700 for the re-route which was about average for the job. I noticed a few weeks after the job that the cutting of the sheetrock left cuts on the other side of the wall; they must have cut too deep and cut into the opposing wall - leaving a few cuts protruding. I called to ask for someone to come back to patch up the wall but they said they were not responsible.

I agreed to leave a review on Yelp after they had finished...I guess here it is.

Guys - It's a quick patch-up! Seriously! Call back when your customers leaves you 2 messages!

Just had a horrible experience. The man broke both internal parts my toilets on purpose so he could tell me they needed repairs. I confronted him, telling him the toilets were fine and now they are broken, you obviously did this. He started yelling at me, guess thats his defense mechanism when someone catches onto his scam.

He should be in Jail, shame on him. Next time try your scam on someone who doesn't know what time of day it is.

I called this plumber today because the water heater in my tenant's apt broke. The reviews that stated they were rude were correct. They are and told me that not having hot water to take a shower is not considered an emergency and that my tenant could take a cold shower. I think he should keep his opinions to himself. I was looking for a plumber not a psychiatrist.

I called to try to schedule a service and whoever answered the phone was extremely rude.  After insulting my intelligence they told me to call back the next day and hung up.

These guys are rude and have no business sense. They have no idea how to talk to  customers. I called them and asked them for rates hourly or by job and they just asked me to call someone else and hung up right away.. Way to go L Pini.. If this is how you do business with customers the day won't be far when you are out of Hoboken. I recommend not to waste your time and call someone else.

Overpriced.  They charged me $275 for valve replacement.  Another licensed contractor said will do others in my place for $50-75 each.

I chose to call this company for a leaking shower based upon the reviews on this website, however my experience with this company was far different from others.

They said they would be over around 11 and never showed. After calling the office a few times I was finally told that they would not be able to make it that day. I rescheduled for another 11 o'clock appointment and they were no shows. What was even more infuriating was that the person at the office said they could not get in contact with the guys on the road and did not know if they were going to come.

I would avoid this company because they did not bother to show up when an appointment was made and did not care to keep me, the customer, updated. In a way I am glad that they did not come because I can only imagine how professional they would be with performing the job and then charging honest billing.

Try any other plumber because these guys won't show up.

When I called and left a message, they called back within 10 minutes.

They scheduled an appointment for the next morning, which was the earliest time I was available. Otherwise, they probably could have shown up even sooner.

They called 15 minutes before my appointment to let me know they were on the way.

They arrived 5 minutes early.

25 minutes later, the leak from my toilet was fixed. They had all the parts and tools they needed right there. No going somewhere to get the parts and coming back another time.

And their fee was very reasonable.

Finally, they were friendly, efficient and professional in every way.

I recommend Pini & Sons wholeheartedly. Got a plumbing problem? These guys are the ones to call. I'd recommend them to friends and family, and if I ever have another plumbing issue, I'll be calling them.

A pipe to my oven needed to be replaced - and I found out about it over a weekend. I called and left a message and someone called me back first thing Monday (it was a non-emergency), and scheduled me an appointment at my convenience. They showed up exactly when they were supposed to and replaced the pipe quickly and efficiently.

Well, Pini and Sons were hired to fix a water main valve in a unit in my building in Hoboken yesterday.  2 hours after they leave, the valve fails and a 1400 sq ft apartment on the 4th floor get filled 2 feet of water and units below need complete remediation.  Floors, walls, electric, etc.

Do not use this company, as they may have known what to do in 99% of issues in the past, but this one issue will cost unit owners and insurance hundreds of thousands of dollars to fix.

Sorry, but plumbers cannot have this issue happen on their watch!

Good honest plumber. Did the work he promised, didnt try to upsell me. resused the existing pipes since they were in good shape. didnt try to charge me for parts he didnt use.
One of the owners came with his tech and supervised. great guys

Run away fast. Worst customer service, expensive and did a poor job in my apartment . Wont be using them anymore. Better off calling someone else

Supposed to replace the tub, vanity sink, toilets in two bathrooms.

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS.

Unprofessional.  Arrogant.  Offensive.  Looking to blame others when clearly the problem was created by them.

The first job was to replace the tub.  The tub was not level.  Never brought out a level. Came to the job unprepared, having to make several trips to the truck, had to borrow tools at the job site from the contractor.
Called Pini to tell them the tub was not level.  Returned to fix the tub but only came to start blame game, finally acknowledged that they are responsible.  However, said they need to return.  Promised to call that night,  Never called. Not the next day either.  Called Pini 6 times total the next two days.
Two days later when finally got them on the phone, said need to schedule the repair job which is already causing delays for the contractor.  Told me to stick the f'ing job up your a$$, I'm pulling the permit.
Called Hoboken Building Department, who confirmed that Tony Pini did pull the permit.  Advice is to get a new plumber and start the application process over.
Incompetent, unprofessional, unresponsive.

Called on a holiday (MLK) for a sink leak and was still open for service. Came within 2 hours of my call.

Very reasonably priced and great customer service! The whole pipe was cracked. They came ready with all the necessary parts and replaced the pipe within a half hour.

Would HIGHLY recommend them to everyone. It's always a breath of fresh air when a plumbing service doesn't try to rip you off.

Had a leaky spigot in a bathtub that was making me drip, drip, drip crazy. Actually, it was more than a drip. Pini and Sons sent over two guys - older gentleman (one of the Pini brothers I think) and an assistant. They diagnosed the problem, said they needed a part from the shop and would be back in 10 minutes. They were back in... 10 minutes! Fixed the leak in another 10 and I wrote them a check. They were were nice, professional and good. They weren't cheap, but plumbing never is so I can't complain about their price which was competitive.

They didn't show the first time, so I had to call and reschedule.  The fellow apologized (tech was running behind at a large fix) and rescheduled for the next day.  Once the tech arrived, I was pleased to see that he was a good natured older fellow.  Fix was quick.  Overall, they get five stars because they the guy they sent out was nice enough to be my own grandfather.  Would have no problem having them come to fix things if only my wife was home.

This was probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They were supposed to come to my apartment in the afternoon, but never showed up.  I called three times, and was assured someone was coming. I waited around for five plus hours and never received a call saying the appointment was cancelled. Finally, I called a fourth time and the office was closed.  Time to take my business elsewhere, I supposed.

very pricy $$$$.  during an existing call in my apartment I asked to have my bathroom sink faucet installed.  i provided the faucet and all the parts, and they were already at my place, the charge was $250.

Worst service ever. They were scheduled to come at 3 they didn't show up until 4:15, no phone call, no apology. They couldn't fix the problem because they didn't have the right parts, the guy said he would come back the next day at whatever time was convenient for me, I said 4pm he said no problem and they never showed. I called and left a message, no one called back. The following afternoon my landlord was able to get ahold of them and they stated that they would never start a job at 4pm.  Needless to say we found new more reliable plumbers.

Good and honest.  Prices was fair.  They came to fix a sewer pipe that had cracked.  I called in the morning and they were able to come within 2hrs.  I recommend these guys for the Hoboken, NJ area.  They were highly knowledgeable, they found and fixed our problem very quickly.

Came on time, addressed the problems quickly and effectively, charged reasonably.   Could not be happier, and will definitely use them again

DON'T USE PINI.  We are renovating our bathroom and hired him to do the plumbing work.  A simple job, no moving or complicated work.  He set the bathtub but didn't glue it level with the floor - almost an inch off!  What plumber doesn't make sure his installation is level??  If he would have fixed it promptly, I would say - everyone makes mistakes.  However, he got emotional, blamed my primary contractor for not catching the mistake in time, and over the phone, said offensive things about my contractor screwing up because he is Chinese (he's not) and doesn't understand English.  He then told us to take the job and shove it up our a*&.  Pini is in it for the easiest way to make his bucks - and sadly, plumbing is an enigma to the average person so no one knows if they are doing the job the right way or not.  But worst of all, he is ignorant.  Don't hire him.

Horrible. Scheduled an appointment and no one showed up or called to say they wouldn't be there. When I called the next day to see what happened the guy gave me some song about the truck not working. When I asked why he didn't call he told me it happens. I said I was simply hoping for a little courtesy call/common decency so I could let me tenants know they wouldn't make it and he told me I'm not entitled to anything and I get what I get, then he hung up. They work in a service industry but have zero interest in dealing with people, perhaps it's time for a new career. Would never recommend in a thousand years.

Had a stopped-up toilet from child dropping something and flushing it down, and leaking hot water heater.  They came fast, super nice, fair prices.  Didn't charge for snaking toilet.  Yay!

L Pini have done two service calls to my apartment and I am very happy with their work and honesty. Shortly after they repaired a burnt element in my water heater, the T&P valve burst. They were back at my apartment within 10 minutes and quickly replaced the valve. Since they were not confident they didn't somehow hasten the valve's demise with their earlier work, the valve was replaced for free. They stand by their work and are an honorable business.

They charged $187 to spend 5 minutes replacing a washer and the pipe continues to leak.  They will rip you off if they can.
