I have used Katie's services for a wide range of projects and have been very happy and perfectly satisfied with her work.  She has:
- installed window blinds, coat rack, and hook
- fixed a door that would not close
- installed light fixtures
- sanded and painted my bathroom vanity (looks new!) and some bookshelves; spray pained some items in the apt
- put together a futon frame
- INSTALLED MY KITCHEN SINK

I used this service today for help with dismantling a bed frame that movers destroyed - don't ask - and I was so impressed with Handyma'am that I had to come here asap quick to write this review! They came on time, they were easy to book with and pay, and they finished a job that I thought was quite hard in under a half hour. Not only that but it was such a piece of mind knowing I was going to have a fellow queer person come in my home to do the work, versus some gruff random dude I would have maybe felt uncomfortable with. They are also on top of their COVID protocols, so no arguing with anyone to put on a mask! And they went all the way to my far-out obscure little corner of Brooklyn to help me on a Sun morning. I would not hesitate to work with them again in a heartbeat. Super duper impressed.

Nic and Odin were dispatched by Handyma'am to help me with some household tasks and I couldn't be happier with their work. Nic painted a sliding door and transformed its grind to a glide. Odin hung 18 pieces of framed art. They both secured an IKEA bookcase to the wall to keep it from tipping over. PLUS they were friendly, answered all my questions, and gave great advice for future home improvement projects. For context, I'm a petite single woman who needs a stepladder to reach just about anything, so the tasks that took Nic and Odin a few hours to complete would have taken me weeks outside of my work schedule, and they wouldn't have been completed nearly as professionally. Handyma'am passes the vibe check with flying colors and I'd recommend them to friends and family in a heartbeat!

Katie is the best! After 3 horrible experiences with different handymen in Brooklyn (light fixture dropped and smashed mid-install, yelled at for having trouble hearing him on the phone, etc.) a friend recommended Katie and I'll be using her services forever. She's extremely knowledgeable and everything we've had her install or fix is done skillfully--but she's always willing to answer questions, talk through her work, etc as well. Thanks Katie!

Katie was wonderful as was the Handyma'am team! Finding a decent handy person has always been a struggle so I'm thrilled to have found the company. Communication was seamless and they arrived on time and completed all of the tasks on our list in a timely manner. They were clean, quiet and totally professional. Given we have a small baby in the house they were quiet and at times we didn't even know they were in the apartment!  Katie was very familiar with our old tricky plaster walls and came with the right tools to do the job. They were also very safe, with covid testing practices in place as well as mask wearing the entire time they were working. Looking forward to hiring Katie again for some other projects we have lined up. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended. Handyma'am has completed multiple projects for us over the years, varying in scope from simple construction projects to complex art installations, always coming in on time and budget, and with a high degree of care around the execution.
She's a professional and transparent communicator who always kept us updated and was honest about any issues or obstacles in what we wanted up front. Thankfully she's an inventive problem solver, so even as she explained the process and what might make it more difficult, she was also always offering a solution.
I highly recommend Katelin to anyone who cares about quality. My days usually have a lot of competing priorities, so being able to trust someone to complete a project without having to micromanage each detail is important to me. Over the years, Katelin has earned the highest possible degree of that trust.

Yes, ma'am!!! would be my answer if you ask whether you should use Handyma'am.  Katie hung two ceiling light fixtures and installed two dimmer switches in my Manhattan condo, and she did a neat and proper installation, even with one of the old fixtures proving to be a challenge to remove.  Her fine art background came as no surprise to me when I saw the care and attention to detail with which she worked. Her communication skills before and during the job were a total breath of fresh air after I'd dealt with workers who left me waiting all day and never showed up -- and others who grunted and didn't speak English when they did show up.  For anything that may come up in the future, I will definitely keep contact info for the Handyma'am handy!

Katie has helped me with quite a few projects in my apartment, and she always goes above and beyond my expectations. With her years of experience, Katie makes the most intimidating tasks (to me) seem like a breeze, and she is always professional, kind, quick, clean, and efficient. You will want to be her best friend by the time she's done. I genuinely cannot recommend this service enough!!

Katie and her assistant installed some towel bars for us. They did a great job and we're safe and careful. It was very easy to set up the appointment and communicate with her. I will definitely contact her again for future projects!

The Handyma'am team installed 7 new doorknobs in our apartment and mounted a shower curtain, and I'm going to be a forever fan. It was lightning-fast to book an appointment, and it only got easier/better from there: Katie uses careful and safe Covid-19 practices, took genuine interest in all of my in-progress and dream home projects, made friends with my dogs, and even gave me tips and tool recommendations for an upcoming project. thank you thank you!

Can't say enough good stuff about this one! Graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a design degree and can make just about anything! She hung lighting and pictures for me  added some dimmers so the ambiance was just right. Katie gave me great advice on several areas of my home and brought all of the ideas to life. She can do it all!

Katie is a gem. I needed curtains installed in my bedroom, which required someone to stand on my bed. This task felt very personal, and as a woman, I felt more comfortable having a fellow woman get the job done. I was running a bit late, and Katie was graciously flexible and understanding. She installed the curtains in 30 minutes, maybe even less time!? She was super professional and down to earth. You can just really tell that she's a genuinely good soul and wants to support her clients in the most authentic and professional way. I really appreciated Katie's handiwork and I can safely say that blackout curtains were an excellent investment. Support women-owned businesses!

I'm psyched about finding Handyma'am. We needed quick help with our dining room table just a few days before hosting seder. She came to assess Tuesday, and promptly returned Thursday (was willing to come back Wed, but I wasn't available). She'd made multiple parts to fill in for the missing piece. She was calm, steady, happy to chat about what she was doing and explain (since I like to learn as much as I can in situations like this). As she was working on the table, she came across something else to fix and happily did it.

Katie's amazing at what she does and a clear communicator. What more can you ask for?

I can't recommend Katie highly enough. She was punctual and methodically accomplished a list of tasks for me: hanging and anchoring a very heavy mirror, installing a rack, reinforcing a dangling curtain rod, and assembling a cat tree with a lot of parts. Not only was the work itself perfect, she was neat/clean with her tools and workspace, and finished within the timeframe she estimated. She's also really friendly and kind. I'm so glad I found her!

Katie was responsive, professional, and, above all, extremely handy. I hired her to fix a plaster wall and reinstall shelves after the last guy I hired made an absolute mess of it. As soon as she assessed the damage and explained how she would go about fixing it, I knew I was in good hands. And sure enough, it looks like new again. So glad I found Katie! I would 100% hire her again and you should, too.

Katie (aka Handyma'am) tackled all of our projects with ease and creativity.  She worked efficiently with expertise.  Our doorknobs were fixed, recessed lighting adjusted, bathroom mirror doors re-hung, 100-year-old door handles re-attached, and more projects too numerous to be listed completed. Handymaam is everything you could ask for and more! She is able to walk through a repair with you, access the issue, and find the best solution for you and your home. I had handymaam remove my broken shower door and she did this with ease. I look forward to working with her again soon.

Katie is one the most efficient and creative installation artists I've gotten to work with. Her attention to detail when working on projects is impeccable and is only made better by her charming personality. I've had many issues around my space that she was able to come up with simple and effective solutions. I would highly recommend her, especially if it involves power tools. She always finishes a job perfectly and with finesse. You'd be crazy to go to anyone else.

Katie did a fantastic job recaulking our bathroom. She was responsive, very professional and has great attention to detail. Cannot recommend her more!

What wonderful things can't I say about Katie?! So prompt and efficient and got right down to business! We had a great chat with her while she took care of our very old and falling apart sofa. She gave us options as to what she could do to fix the problem, including any additional costs or time frame. She has a plethora of skills and I'm eager to utilize her skills again with other home repair projects. She is comfortable and friendly but wonderfully professional and quick too. Her skill set is very advanced and I trust her willingness and ability to attempt any repair, or give you her honest opinion as to what will/won't work. Katie is amazing! I called her to help with fixing a slide-out cabinet that had come off its track, and that was not staying shut properly, as well as replacing some floor trim that had been removed when I had a new dishwasher installed. As the scheduled date approached, I kept realizing all these other things I'd need fixed! Katie told me to make a list, and when she arrived, she knocked out every item on my list, even late-breaking ones! When she didn't think one solution would work to solve a problem, she came up with another. Katie clearly has tremendous expertise, but she also was great at thinking creatively, even for tasks I hadn't told her about in advance. She was totally transparent about pricing, which I appreciated, and still got the additional tasks done in the estimated amount of time. Beyond that, she is super friendly, and someone I felt so comfortable having in my home. I've recommended Katie to other friends who have all had as excellent of an experience as I did. This might sound weird but, next time something in my apartment goes awry, I'll feel relieved that I know I can call Katie!

I've been working with Katy for 5 years now. Always on time, always follows through and always does a great job! Her motto is, Look.
