Franks guys were problematic in terms of cleanliness, communication, and manners. HOWEVER, the owner himself is much different. He is hand's on, and called to see how he could fix our experience. I can respect that. If you work with this company, go directly to the owner with questions and comments and you'll be pleased.

This is a company I worked with many times on many houses over many years.  I really wanted to like them and did find the basement part of the business very good.  The plumbers and the energy workers were quite bad.  First of all they are expensive. I will give them credit on being available quickly, but I had frequent call backs to fix problems they either created or only solved temporarily. The basement people actually recommended foaming for insulation when there was a house-long gap between my crawlspace and open deck (the deck had been replaced and the house suddenly much colder.  On more than one occasion they told me work was completed and accepted payment only to find out the work was never done.  I've spoken to Frank many times over the years and he always promises to fix issues.  I think he genuinely intends to do so, but his workers are inconsistent at best.  I finally agreed to give him one more chance about a year ago to fix a leaking toilet he had charged me to fix but hadn't fixed.  He had said he was going to do the work himself and the tenant was favorably impressed.  A few months later the toilet is leaking again after he got paid a lot of money for a second time to fix it.  I find out that he again sent one of his workers and didn't do it himself.  I have waited over a year to write this review thinking either he would notice that I have stopped calling him or that the toilet would start leaking again and I would realize it wasn't the fault of Franks.  Neither happened.  I am happy to report my 11 houses are in the hands of a much more competent plumber.  If you need a quick but expensive fix to a small problem, this company can be good.  If you need anything big or serious or if you aren't there to supervise their work, there are a lot of good plumbers in town.  Buffalo is moving up in the world and good vendors of all kinds are moving in to help.  No more needing to depend on companies like this.  Yay!

For some reason, my house gets upset when we go out of town during the holiday season and something always breaks. This year it was my eldritch horror of a hot water heater. I couldn't figure out how to turn off the gas to it to even attempt to let the gas clear and try restarting the pilot, so I looked up emergency plumbers on Yelp.

Frank was the only one to return my Sunday evening call, and when he couldn't Facetime me through the process of turning off the gas, he stopped out at no charge to take care of it for me. He also quoted me several options for replacing the 18 year old behemoth.

His crew was able to come out the next day to install the new heater. The guys were very polite, professional, and did a great job. They went the extra mile to keep the floor clean, laying down cloths on the rug on the path in / out of the house, and the basement where they did the install was left clean. They also fixed the old, non-standard plumbing attachments, and explained to me everything that was done, and how the new heater worked.

Frank called that evening to check on the install, which he didn't have to do and was very thoughtful. His office also called the next day to check in again.

It's honestly the best service I've had from any home repair company and I wouldn't hesitate to use their service again the next my house throws a tantrum.

This morning, I noticed sewage in the sinks in our basement.  I really wanted to get it taken care of today, but I worried it would be an issue to find someone since it's Sunday. I tried Roto Rooter, and the soonest I could get service was Mon. After looking at reviews on yelp, I tried this company. I have to say, if this is the level of service they always provide, they'll always be my go-to! I called at 9:30ish, and they were able to have their on-call plumber come by 11:30. He was right on time, and could not have been any nicer! He made sure of what the issue was (the pipes had to be snaked), and even shoveled the lawn to find the pipe to do the work. After giving me an estimate, he completed the work very quickly. The cost was extremely reasonable too, so that was even better. I had to go in the basement later in the day, and I checked the sinks just in case, and it looks like not only is the issue fixed, but the sink was wiped out clean, which felt above and beyond what I would expect. Overall, I was very impressed and happy with how it all went!! Shoutout to the plumber who came, Mike, who was so helpful and nice!

After an initial experience with a really rude plumber, we found Frank's Mr. Plumber and right from the first phone call we were pleased. They're just humans, you know? Shane came out and was a really nice guy. He fixed our issue. We are closing on another house later this month and will definitely use this company for our plumbing needs. Thanks Frank and Shane!

I have been having water coming in my basement for at least 5or more years. When it would rain the water would come in the corner of the basement.  I had a plumber look at it and told me I needed to clean the crack between the floor and wall that's why the water was coming in.  I did everything and it didn't matter.  I called Frank's Mr Plumber and Frank Sr. came out and he figured out what was going on, he opened up the floor by the wall and drain tile.  He stated that the water was not getting to the drain tile.  So now I can say I didn't get any water in the basement when I ran the water outside by the back of the house and the water went in the drain tile.  I would highly recommend Frank's Mr Plumber very happy customer

Not super reliable! lthink they try hard but fall short of their promises. They aren't organized and struggle to follow through.  They are trying to funnel too many business through one company heating and cooling , plumbing , Franks landscaping. All the same not focused

I had an awful grease backup in my basement so the drain needed to be snaked actually saw the sign to this company on someone's lawn and after calling others companys they offered free estimates which I loved (it gives you a chance to see if you can afford the job) Im so happy I went with this company Excellent service Bryan was great !!!! He answered questions, didn't mind my husband or I coming down to check on him, troubleshooted our  issue and was able to give us a reason why our problem keeps happening, he even gave me an estimate on getting the problem fixed (which was reasonable and I will be getting taken care of after the holidays) Plumbing Problems Call these Guys A1 Service

My sewer backed up right before Easter, and with company coming to stay, I needed help fast.  Bryan did a very thorough job. There was detailed documentation showing the work.
The only downside was I later discovered in the Clipper brochure, there is a $60.00 off coupon for sewer cleaning.  I emailed the coupon and receipt . I would think for good customer service it would have been mentioned when I had the work done. I did send it a month after, due to dealing with having to put in a new sewer system and a new garage roof, and landscaping to repair the lawn.  I received a voicemail (addressed me with a male name??), saying it was a month after and nothing they could do. Disappointing when you're on a fixed income. I decided to go with another company for the sewer replacement, which voluntarily included 2 $50.00 coupons off the price.

They installed a hot water tank which I bought through a local hardware store. I didn't know the hardware store was subcontracting the work to Mr. Plumber, but I couldn't be happier with the job. The installers name was Pat and he was on time, professional and courteous. Got the job done in just a little more than an hour. Would certainly call them in the future for any plumbing needs.

My dishwasher was backing up. He came and said that the problem was the garbage disposal. He used a tool and fixed it in less than a minute. He didn't tell me how much this would cost. He charged me $100 for literally five minutes worth of work time. My garbage disposal was bought new for 120. If I knew he would charge me $100 I would have bought a new one. I think they should disclose the cost to the customer before they proceed doing it.

Five star service.  Problem in basement with sump pump pipe leaking onto electric .  Called fix problem before it escalated into something more serious.  Leaking was causing circuit breaker to keep tripping.  Amazing job very satisfied.  Thank you so much.

SCAMMERS!
A couple years ago, we had them over to take a look at a leak in our bathroom going to the basement, and right away, the guy says, hi! I notice you have toilet paper on your lawn, there's something wrong with your sewer line!! Which there was, we just didn't see it right away- so we said, well let's take a look at the bathroom.. He didn't try to solve the problem, more just said, the basement floor isn't level, so someday u need to gut and renovate someday.. Anyways, then we headed outside to the pipe coming up on our lawn with some toilet paper next to it- he sent a camera down and showed me all these tree roots! So he charged me to grind and get it running smoothly.. Then he told me that the tree roots will be back, and I need a new sewer line- 4,000 bucks, OR 8,000 if they can't get to the line in the street, and we won't know until we get to digging what it will cost- I was so devastated!! I even expressed how it's one thing after another- we were new homeowners, and you know how that goes- we were up to our ears in credit card debt and loans for things going wrong, that I knew we probably couldn't get a loan for this new 8,000 dollar sewer line, he said its a 50/50 chance they could get it through.. Luckily, my brain started working- I'll call other plumbers and see what they will charge- I called 3, YES 3, guess what they ALL SAID??? - mr plumber is scamming you, lots of people have tree roots, and they all took cameras down there, and one place even got a wider grinder down there and said that mr plumber didn't even do a good enough job- that since our pipe was in good shape there's no reason to dig up, just maintenance- so for the past 2+ years, we get it cleaned out, and dump some kind of material down it to inhibit the root growth somewhat- and guess what? My cousin had mr plumber put in a new sewer line for other needed reasons, and her basement JUST flooded... The cause? TREE ROOTS! So why would I get a new sewer line unless they're going to kill and cut down all the trees in our neighborhood? I was ready to beg family for money since we couldn't afford another loan, when this whole time, we pay a great company $150 a year to come out and clean it out. Thanks mr plumber, didn't even bat an eyelash trying to make a buck off of me! Nice try! Glad I called around, always always get other quotes!
Another note- one of the other companies said- if you had needed to get your sewer line dug up, it would have been $3700, period! They said if they aren't skilled enough to slip on a new sewer line onto the part in the street- RUN FROM THEM! They expressed that they're not skilled in the sewer line department

Frank did a great job on both our major (replacing the pipe from the house to the main under the street) and our smaller jobs.  He's been kind, friendly, helpful and professional.

We've had tree root problems every year for the 6 years we've lived in our house.  We were calling plumbers 3 times a year to get the roots removed after the sewer would back up into our house and we'd have to clean it up.  It was a miserable problem which 5 different plumbers tried to help us fix.  All of them would recommend putting a camera down the pipe and quoted us up to 8,000 dollars to replace the pipe.  Our neighbor has no intention of ever removing her tree, so we eventually had to do something.

Frank's won the bid with the cheapest price.  They were prompt and very helpful.  This was done in the fall and too late to plant new grass, so they came back two times to add more dirt to our lawn when the freeze and thaw had shifted the earth and again when it was time to re-seed the grass.  So far, we've not had a problem with backup since!

The best plumber there is. The night before Thanksgiving, came right out within 15 Mins to clear a back up into my basement. Frank is very responsive and knowledgeable.  Frank is honest, fair and reliable....which I'd rear these days. Can't find a better guy. Frank really cares about his customers and goes above and beyond.  I can't say enough about the service....can't imagine using any other service. Totally amazed by the level of customer service

Can't say enough good things about Frank's Mr. Plumber.  We had an issue with water coming into our basement and it was driving us to distraction.  Frank's kept working on it until they found and fixed the problem.  They were extremely professional, prompt, and reasonable.   Would definitely recommend you call them!

Despite the fact ... no one wants to spend the money that plumbing work costs. I must admit this experience was by far professional, expedient and the 2 gentlemen that showed up were very friendly. They explained each process and how long it would take. The company's model is they charge by the job and not the hour. That's a plus ..especially with plumbing work.
So my water heater had some flexible pipes attached that one began to leak. It was running a steady flow of leaking that went unnoticed for a bit .. but the water bill didn't disappoint. As well my kitchen sink sprang a leak on the very next day of noticing the HWT. It was a corroded pipe under the kitchen sink.
I had reached out to several companies, one of whom I had used before and they actually NEVER responded. I guess that was good for me. A few others had hours and scheduling issues, which struck me as odd. FRANKS, however had great reviews from other yelpers... so I figured why not.
I gave them a call and they were clear about the time and followed up with and estimate of when, showed up on time and got right down to it. They gave me a price quote for each job, with full intentions on resolving the problem and details on how cutting a corner could be worse.
Once we agreed to move forward, they replaced the flexible piping on  BOTH sides and then moved on to the kitchen sink.
He explained EVERY step and even advised me on things to look out for.
All in all they were extremely helpful. They require payment and not billing if you are a new customer. They accept credit card payments on the spot.
They even asked to leave a sign on the lawn.
Ed is great and he comes with an assistant  but I cannot recall his name. He has been working with him a number of years.
If you want honest plumbing work and don't want a crazy estimate based on how long the job will take ... give them a shout

It is good when a local business responds to a criticism and provides a solution. In my situation the owner of Frank's Mr. Plumber listened to my criticism and offered an acceptable professional mitigation. I would contact and recommend  Frank's Mr. Plumber in the future.

I walked down my basement late on a Saturday evening to find it flooded. I immediately called Mr. Plumber thinking the problem was with the sump pump. Instead of coming to my house and charging me for a house call, they suggested things for me to try first. It turns out that the problem was with the electrical line. They didn't charge me a thing for helping me solve my problem!

I had a terrible experience today with their dispatcher.  I needed emergency service for water backing into my basement.  She offered me an appt Monday (3 days away) and when I called back asking about their 24/7 service she pushed me off. Frank himself got word of my review and called me directly himself.  I already had someone here.  He apologized profusely, offered to come out and double check himself to make sure the lines were cleared, or whatever work needed to be done he would come out and handle himself.  He ended up paying for my service for the plumber that was here and kept in contact with me throughout the evening.  I really am at a loss for words.  He went father than above and beyond.  It's such breath of fresh air that someone would go out of their way to show how truly they care for their customers and their business.  I will continue to call them for my office and my home.  How can I now possibly go anywhere else?  It's a beautiful thing to say this company has redeemed its faith in me.

How often do you get the owner of the company answering the phone for your plumbing emergencies?  I called and Frank himself answered and gave me directions on what to do to prevent further damage to my home until he got here.  I highly recommend this company to anyone who needs help for their plumbing or basement issues.  Service is outstanding!  Thank you Franks!!

I finally came to the fact, Liquid Drano doesn't always fix your drain lines. For a while now, I have been having plumbing issues. I just thought the weird gurgling sounds, and the slow flushing. Was due to my town, doing sewer line work on my street. But after they work on my street a few times, I was still having issues. My utility sink by this time, was getting filled with sewage waste. So I figure it could be a plug at the section, where my sinks connect to the main stack. So a few bottles of Drano was used, and the problem still existed. So next, I try a sulfuric acid based drain cleaner. That didn't work either, matter of fact it ate away some of my sink and tub. The bottle never said it would do that. So enough of my, do it yourself fixes. I have to get the professionals involved now. I called 4 places, one company said they are to busy. The other  2 never returned my call. The last company Franks Mr Plummer, not only called me back. But they scheduled a person to come by the very next day. The rep was very professional and explained everything in detail. I really felt at ease with the final assessment of the project. Even though I thought it was a plugged drain, it comes out to be a bigger issue than that. But how the rep explained the issues, I knew he wasn't lying just so he could hike up the price. So the problem was a collapsed line and the connection (called tap) to the sewer line to the city. I have clay lines and they replaced those lines with PVC. The work is guaranteed for up to 20yrs, and if I choose to sell my house. The guarantee is transferable. My yard has a huge pile of dirt now, but the work they did was very satisfactory. They even added extra drain line cleaning ports. My total price came to $7,000, I don't think Tai and I are moving anytime soon. Haha we have to get our monies worth.

Our water lines froze and we were  water because our kitchen flooded when they burst and we had to shut it all off. We had Jerry come out for an estimate and unlike other companies he actually went in the crawl space to check things out. We could tell he really cared and wanted to help us without making us spend money we don't have to spend. They were great with communication, on time, and very knowledgeable. They worked in a snow storm and got us our water back and all new amazing water lines within 5-6 hours. Prices were fair and we're so happy! Usually we stay away from big companies but sooo glad we contacted them and we will never go elsewhere! Everything looks great, works great, and is warrantied! We truly got lucky with them.
