HISTORY
Established in 1985.
We are a family owned and operated company. Starting out with one account we were able to build the business to 18 plumbers. During this time we provided repair service along with our Construction department. In the construction department we started out doing tenant improvement work in strip plaza's and progressed into dental and medical facilities, along with work performed in multiple city water and waste treatment plants. Some of these projects include; Fiddlesticks in Tempe, parts of the 99th Avenue Waste Treatment Facility (also called the Tri-City Waste Treatment Plant) The FHP Healthcare Facility at 19 th Ave and Dunlap, parts of The Thomas Road Water Treatment Facility in Scottsdale, multiple project's for The Honeywell Corporation, Arizona Powdercoat business in Phoenix, Zen32 in Phoenix, and most recent Stingray Sushi at the Scottsdale Airpark. These are a few of our projects, there are many many more.

In 1985, Dave and his wife opened Garrett Plumbing Inc. serving the entire valley after moving from California where they had previously run the company. He has been in the industry since 1976 and is both a licensed and insured contractor. Dave enjoys meeting new customers and playing music in his spare time.

We called about having our water heater going bad and needing to be replaced. We contacted Garrett Plumbing and they responded that same day, and came out to the house. After discussing the issue, we were able to get a quote that Monday, and Dave immediately put us on the schedule for Thursday to get a new water heater. They showed up on time and a couple hours later, BOOM we had a new 50 gallon water heater! The guys were very professional and kind. Work was done with care. I'd call them again hands down!

I called Dave at Garrett Plumbing. Dave and Bob showed up to replace the diverter cartridge in our shower. Reasonably priced and knowledgable, they assessed a tricky situation and completed the job!

Great service and help from Dave of Garrett Plumbing. They came to our appointment early and got us on their schedule on short notice which we appreciated a lot. They installed our store bought water softener and ensured there were no leaks or issues prior to their departure. He also went above and beyond to help us program the softener (the instructions were difficult to read and we didn't feel confident doing it on our own). Will definitely recommend this company to friends and family looking for a reliable plumber.

My husband and I just moved to Arizona a few months ago. We knew that we were going to need a new dishwasher and garbage disposal fixed or taken out and few other plumbing issues with our sink. They responded fairly quick to my voicemail that I left Sunday and they came this morning (Tuesday) and fixed everything that was wrong and a little extra they noticed and also installed our new dishwasher for us! They were very nice and fast working didn't take up much time and did great work. Also they were reasonably priced! My husband and I will definitely be giving them a call again if any future issues come up.

Currently, we are taking measures to upgrade our home for sale and as a result we've been in seeking a reliable plumber to assist with a few faucet exchanges. I've had a handful of folks come over to provide quotes however the length of time to get the job done as well as the costs were far outside our comfort zone. Enter a quick search in Yelp for an honest and reliable plumber: Garrett Plumbing, Inc. came right up with several reviews to back their professionalism and service. I provided an outline of the job (installation of a new toilet, bathroom faucet, kitchen faucet, and garbage disposal) and was provided a quick and manageable estimate. I scheduled an appointment and Dave and a partner arrived two days later on time and ready to help. They were quick, efficient, and kind in providing their services and they stood behind their work. I appreciated the kindness and I was glad I reached out to them as I may have found a long-term plumbing company to work with going forward. If you have the need for a reliable, affordable, and quality focused plumber, these are the guys for you. Dave worked with a nearby family member and coordinated the service call (diagnosis) and next day install/replacement. All the way, keeping us updated on the status, cost, etc. Extremely pleased and satisfied with the entire experience.
Interesting, not once when you were here did you mention it needed to be relocated indoors. Your recommendation for repair was to simply raise the water heater off the ground and drill holes in the bottom pan to allow for better draining. Searching for any reason possible to support your poor service after the fact is in no way going to change people's impressions of your capabilities.
This is even more alarming that you point out in the owner's manual by Bradford White, which I had present when you were out, a solution that is different than your own assessment at the time of the service call. This shows you make rushed, uneducated decisions on repairs in lieu of taking the time to research the specific appliance, the manufacturer's recommendations, and the correct repair.
Moreover, your recommended repair was to drill holes in the unit which would have voided the manufacturer's warranty and obviously not been the correct repair as no unit should need to be physically customized such as that to properly work.
Lastly, you point out that relocating the unit inside would have fixed my issues. To clarify, this was the first and only time I had an issue with the water heater and it has worked fine every day since I took 10 minutes to fix it as I originally quoted. It has rained like cats and dogs many times since you were out with no drainage / operational issues.
I strongly suggest you take some courses or professional counseling in customer service, effective communication, have some sort of safety checklist or other process by which you can ensure you take the right precautions when entering and leaving job sites due to your lack of detail or knowledge creating potentially very dangerous situations as addressed in my original review, root cause analysis of systems failure / triage, and acceptable repairs within both manufacturer and the National Fuel Gas Code guidelines [in the case of gas integrated systems].
For now, all prospective customers should look elsewhere for better service and prices. It's not worth saving $50 on a repair that causes even more damage or puts you and your family at risk nor paying much more for a repair when the proposed resolution is more extensive and incorrect; no saving there. Plenty of better options in the valley.

These guys were timely and professional. Dave and his associate came out to inspect an issue with my water heater. They determined that the pilot control was faulty. They researched my equipment and found that the equipment was still in warranty and contacted the original installer of my water heater.
These guys took the time to give me the information and help me setup repair work with the company that was responsible for the equipment. Even though they did not do the actual work to be paid, they were extremely helpful in getting me to the right source. I will definitely use them for all my future plumbing needs.

I've been using Dave Garrett for plumbing work on my home as well as my five rentals for at least four years- maybe longer. He's my GO TO GUY. He shows up when he says, fixes the problem quickly and efficiently, and is fair in his charges. I couldn't recommend him more.

In November 2013, our water heater developed a leak. The warranty was for 5 years, but the company stated that the warranty began when we deliver it to the contractor, NOT when you buy your home. So, we call Garrett for help. He showed up very quickly and shrugged his shoulders and said most water heaters are the same. Advised that we buy a 5 yr warranty replacement. Thats what we did. And surprise we ended up with the same company as before.
When I voiced surprise, Garrett explained that this way there was less for him to do to get me up and running.
So after cutting two pipes he was able to install the water heater in less than an hour (still cost $278) labor.
Final chapter of the story, some of the pipes he removed are dripping. Again he came out quickly and gave me an estimate of $280 (parts and labor).
As a retired physician, I understand pricing factors and overhead costs. Just figure that the original job took much less time that he had estimated, so that he might take it into consideration on this job. No such luck.
If you have time and aren't over-flowing, you might want to make a few call as there are other plumbers out there that are happy about repeat business.

Dave was great. He called in the morning, told me what time to expect him and called again when he was on the way.
He unclogged my kitchen sink by clearing the main drain line. Quick and courteous- I recommend.

These guys are good, they are very responsive and they know what they are doing. They also make suggestions to save me money! They are on time, do good work and leave the place clean. So far they have installed two water heaters (in 2 houses) for me, and a garage sink, including new plumbing for it. I don't hesitate to recommend them to my friends!
Our hot water tank died and I requested a quote on Yelp, Dave responded within minutes. Not only did he give me a very reasonable price, but he was able to make it out the same day to replace it! I have a rental property in Gilbert. I used a property manager in the past to perform maintenance but I always had to re-do their work and I have good tenants so I dumped the property manager. As the house needed some minor plumbing repairs including sticking valves and a small leak near the hot water heater. I read about Dave Garrett here on Yelp and gave him a try. Couldn't be happier as he scheduled a time with the tenants, showed up on time and did the repairs in about an hour. Great service and couldn't be happier and will use him again in a heartbeat!!!

Great service and communication. On time and did great work. Dave showed great integrity when he looked at our two water heaters, indicating that one did not need replacing and was still under warranty. Another company had insisted that we did need it replaced and had given us a heavy sales pitch as well.
Dave replaced the water heater that did need replacing quickly, and with no hassle. We would for sure refer folks Garrett Plumbing and would be happy to work with them again!

I had a plumber install my water softener about 6 months ago. He used PVC for the water supply and it began to leak at the connection to the water supply. I called three times over several days with no call backs after leaving a voicemail message.
I contacted GARRETT PLUMBING. They explained to me the previous plumber incorrectly connected the PVC pipes. GARRETT fixed the leak in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. I highly endorse GARRETT PLUMING for all of your plumbing needs.
Was having trouble finding a plumber that would replace my 80 gallon water heater with the same size. Called Dave with Garrett Plumbing, he was able to find and install a new 80 gl water heater in a couple of days. Dave is knowledgable and super friendly.

Updating my review. The outdoor faucet that I paid to have him fix started leaking again after about a year. I called about them fixing it but they said they only warranty for 1 year. He said I could pay him to come out to fix it again but I asked why I would pay the same person to fix it twice when it should have been fixed correctly the first time, and he said perhaps you should call another plumber and hung up on me. I would not recommend this company as they charge higher than average for sub-par work that they don't stand behind. Not to mention his customer service skills are garbage. Run as fast as you can from this company.

Called Dave regarding a leaking toilet. He answered the phone immediately and was able to come to the house a few hours later. They quickly fixed the issue and were neat and courteous, and the price was very good.

This was the very best plumbing company we have had work in our home in the 30 years we have lived in AZ. They were clean, courteous and professional. They quickly analyzed plumbing issues previous companies could not seem to solve. They also installed a toilet and faucets perfectly. I was pleased with how reasonable their cost of services were and would recommend them to anyone who has had tricky plumbing issues in the past. All I can say is these are two very sharp and experienced plumbers.

David was Great! Our bathroom sink had a random sewer smell and of course the day David came there was no smell. David stayed for a couple of hours, unfortunately never located the smell but he cleaned pipes and all those other plumbing technicalities and the smell is finally gone!!!! I would absolutely recommend Garrett Plumbing!

I strongly suggest you take some courses or professional counseling in customer service, effective communication, have some sort of safety checklist or other process by which you can ensure you take the right precautions when entering and leaving job sites due to your lack of detail or knowledge creating potentially very dangerous situations as addressed in my original review, root cause analysis of systems failure / triage, and acceptable repairs within both manufacturer and the National Fuel Gas Code guidelines [in the case of gas integrated systems].
For now, all prospective customers should look elsewhere for better service and prices. It's not worth saving $50 on a repair that causes even more damage or puts you and your family at risk nor paying much more for a repair when the proposed resolution is more extensive and incorrect; no saving there. Plenty of better options in the valley.

Used Garrett Plumbing to run a gas line for our dryer after we moved to Gilbert AZ. Dave answered the phone when I called made an appointment with me right away. Dave came to the appointment on time and completed the work quickly. I highly recommend Dave and his company.
After getting multiple bids for our project, we decided to go with Garrett Plumbing because we felt confident in their ability to get the job done right and in budget.

I had a leak from my second story bathtub drain. Upon further inspection the drain was installed incorrectly by the builders. Dave was able to get me on the schedule pretty quickly and provided great results for what can only be described as a very, very fair price.
I've since hired him again to do another plumbing job in my living room running new water lines and a drain for a wet bar. Any time I have a plumbing issue in the future Dave is going to be my first call. It was nice to find someone I can trust to do the job right with no gimmicks, just results.

I called Mr Garrett to help me replace some outdated and cracked toilets. It was a Saturday morning. I decided to perform a quick fix of our bathtub faucet with a malfunctioning diverter. The result was a functioning shower but a faucet that constantly had water flowing out of it. A few YouTube videos later I felt confident trying to twist off the faucet using some plumbing pliers. As the faucet made its first 180 degree turn I could see the copper pipe that fed into the faucet. It was turning into the pretzel. The faucet threads were seized on the pipe and now the pipe was ruined.
After letting my wife know that I had failed and we would need to call a plumber I found Garrett Plumbing on yelp and gave them a call. Dave answered the phone and requested that I send him some photos of the issue as well as pictures of what was behind the shower wall. He informed me over the phone that most likely, to fix the issue a hole would need to be made in the wall behind our shower so that they could access the pipe leading into the faucet and replace both the pipe and faucet.
Queue panic moment number 2. My first panic was realizing I had completely ruined the copper pipe in the wall. Now I was going to need a hole in my living room wall to access the shower plumbing.
Now I'm no contractor but I somewhat know my way around tools. I was secretly looking forward to learning to repair drywall but my wife was pretty anxious about my $30 quick-fix turning into a nightmare for our bank account.
Dave texted me and told me that his associate Bob would be heading to our house to fix the issue. When Bob got there he immediately saw the issue and said oh, that's not good, which is never what you want to hear a professional say. He took some measurements and brought out the reciprocating saw and started cutting things off and making a hole in our wall. After not much time he had a new pipe welded on and a new faucet installed and sealed. But the hole in the wall remained.
But Bob was super cool and gave me some tips on how to reuse the section of wall that was removed and patch it all up. I followed his advice and you can't see where the hole in our living room wall was and most importantly. We have a new faucet on our tub that functions properly!
It definitely wasn't as cheap to have a professional plumber come out as it would have been had I been able to replace the faucet myself. But I feel good knowing the job was done right and water won't be leaking in my wall or some other catastrophic problem that could have resulted from me trying to find a cheaper way to fix it myself.
Dave and Bob of Garrett plumbing were great and fast. Dave texted me several more times after Bob had left to ensure everything was still working properly. And helped me readjust the faucet after I had to screw a plate on our water foe handle (which pushed the faucet out a bit and broke the caulking seal).
Definitely give Dave a call if you can. He's honest, quick and most importantly, it will be done right!

I've been using Dave Garrett for plumbing work on my home as well as my five rentals for at least four years- maybe longer. He's my GO TO GUY. He shows up when he says, fixes the problem quickly and efficiently, and is fair in his charges. I couldn't recommend him more.

David was Great! Our bathroom sink had a random sewer smell and of course the day David came there was no smell. David stayed for a couple of hours, unfortunately never located the smell but he cleaned pipes and all those other plumbing technicalities and the smell is finally gone!!!! They installed our store bought water softener and ensured there were no leaks or issues prior to their departure. These guys are great. They were scheduled to be on site between 8:00 and 10:00 and they were here about 10 minutes before 8:00. They had the work completed in about 30 minutes. Its been a few weeks and there are no issues. I would use them again.
Arrived early and began work promptly. They assessed the work that needed to be done and completed it quickly and professionally. No mess. I will be calling these guys back as our remodel progresses!!!

Dave was great. He called in the morning, told me what time to expect him and called again when he was on the way.
He unclogged my kitchen sink by clearing the main drain line. Quick and courteous- I recommend.

Dave and his team, completed installation of our Water Softening System, and in my opinion, did a marvelous job. His quote, on time arrival and successful installation, were all completed as advertised.
I have a rental property in Gilbert. I used a property manager in the past to perform maintenance but I always had to re-do their work and I have good tenants so I dumped the property manager. As the house needed some minor plumbing repairs including sticking valves and a small leak near the hot water heater. I read about Dave Garrett here on Yelp and gave him a try. Couldn't be happier as he scheduled a time with the tenants, showed up on time and did the repairs in about an hour. Great service and couldn't be happier and will use him again in a heartbeat!!!

I had a plumber install my water softener about 6 months ago. He used PVC for the water supply and it began to leak at the connection to the water supply. I called three times over several days with no call backs after leaving a voicemail message.
I contacted GARRETT PLUMBING. They explained to me the previous plumber incorrectly connected the PVC pipes. GARRETT fixed the leak in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. I highly endorse GARRETT PLUMING for all of your plumbing needs.

Called Dave regarding a leaking toilet. He answered the phone immediately and was able to come to the house a few hours later. They quickly fixed the issue and were neat and courteous, and the price was very good.
Arrived at scheduled time and promptly completed the repair. Friendly personable guys and they cleaned up after themselves. I am keeping the business card on my fridge!
Great service and communication. On time and did great work. Dave showed great integrity when he looked at our two water heaters, indicating that one did not need replacing and was still under warranty. Another company had insisted that we did need it replaced and had given us a heavy sales pitch as well.
Dave replaced the water heater that did need replacing quickly, and with no hassle. We would for sure refer folks Garrett Plumbing and would be happy to work with them again!
