Joe, David, and John were courteous of our home. They wore booties and cleaned up after themselves. All of them stayed longer to ensure working installations. They went beyond to help fixing the errors of the previous electrician. Would use them again!

Wow... what a great experience! I had 3 things that needed to be done, so posted a request to Yelp! BQ was one of the first to respond, and based n the positive reviews... we chose them.

The company confirmed via phone and text the night before our appointment. The morning of... we got a text with our tech, Vincent's picture... as well as background on him.

Vincent and his helper arrived on time and quickly got to work. They were friendly and clean. The work couldn't be better... we're very happy!

I do not get where the good reviews came from. The salesman Edinson was very nice and took his time with me,  but after a few questions the car salesman routine came out which is fine as long as the work is done well. Once I did my research on what they are installing I realized everything was very overpriced,  especially with other companies quoting the same project way under their quote.  He was taking advantage of a new homeowner. I get cheaper is not better but this company would not get back to me. It's important if a company gets back to you in a timely manner. After Edinson left ( he asked me to write a good review on his performance ) I emailed a few questions because he forgot a room in the quote. I found out they Stand by their product according to the salesperson yet they are not available after 4pm and will not respond on weekends,  after I was told we will be there to help 24/7. Mind you I found this company by calling and leaving a voicemail on the Friday before the salesman came over only to get a return phone call on Monday. So they claim they will stand by their work but not on Saturday and Sunday and after 4pm,  so don't have problems then.  Back to the email I sent after Edinson left. I got a response on Tuesday after the email was sent Friday. Jacki told me she would ask Edinson about my questions and get back to me. Guess what no response. I wouldn't use this company the reviews are clearly sponsored. If you are trying to sell someone on a five thousand dollar quote wouldn't you expect them to be attentive?  Don't fall for the flashy sales pitch.

Very professional, neat and clean.  
No B. S.  They did my whole electrical box to 200amps.  Installed a transfer switch for my portable Generac Generator to the new electrical box.
Ran couple of wires directly from the box to some new and old outlets.
No issues at all.  Didn't have to micro manage their work at all.  Excellent job

We called and someone came within several hours to assess the situation. We were given a fair quote & told they would be able to come within 2 days. They'll be here tomorrow, so I'll update once the work is done but I had to come and give 4 stars just based on our experience thus far!

Very expensive rate. I did not use them. Their estimate was $250 just to come in and look at my project. I declined and got someone else $100.

These guys were exceptional, they showed up and wore their masks. They even cleaned up after themselves with a vacuum.  Andrew the electrician was very professional and helpful.  He was able to diagnose and fix the issue under an hour.  I am very happy with the work they did and would recommend them to everyone.

** I took off 1 star for miscommunication.  When I first called them (around 3pm) to arrange for service, I was told someone would come between 6-8pm on the same day.  Then I got a call around 6pm stating they got stuck at another job but PROMISED to get to me first thing in the morning around 8-9am.  YET AGAIN, I got a call around 9am from the office stating the guy whom I spoke with last night had a mix-up in his schedule, so they cannot get to me until later in the afternoon between 12-4pm.  I was super annoyed and frustrated at this point because it has been almost a day since I was without power!! If they had told me in the beginning they couldn't come to me right away, I would've called another company instead.

Had some work that needed to be done ASAP. From the moment I called, I knew they would be my go to electric company. Bill and Peter were fantastic. They explained everything I needed and what they were doing so I was kept in the loop. They came right on time and did a fantastic job and I highly highly recommended anyone who needs a proper electrician to look no further than BQ Electric. You have my business going forward!!!

I got a quote for the entire job.  After the job, they did NOT get the electrical inspection quoted in the agreed upon quote.  There are 40-65 Licensed Electrical contractors in Nassau County. Try these others.

Doing construction to our home and out of all the businesses we hired BQ has been the best. They even showed us how to do it cheaper. Very respectful and professional. Total pleasure.

I was able to get an appointment quickly and easily. The technician arrived on time the next day and fixed the problem in less than an hour for the quoted hourly rate plus parts.

I recently purchased a new home and hired BQ Electric to do several electrical projects throughout my house including installing a new bathroom fan/heater, installing a tv outlet for my big screen tv, installing new ceiling fans and upgrading all the outlets and switches throughout the home. The two guys that were sent to my house did an excellent job and were super neat and clean. All the fixtures were installed straight and level, they cleaned up and vacuumed after each job and were super professional. The owner Brian went above and beyond by having his team out here immediately in order to get the job done before my painter came. They did a great job and I would highly recommend them!

Our electricity went out and I work from home. They came very quickly and fixed the problem upon discovering another problem we didn't even know we had. Vinny and Joe were excellent I would definitely recommend this company for anyone that needs electrical work done.

We had electrical restoration when the previous electrician left with some wiring issues. We spoke to Mark for contracting the service to complete the work and had some invoice discrepancies in the beginning. After speaking to Mark again and the owner Bryan, the invoice issues resolved smoothly. The electricians (Andrew and other electricians) working on our house are friendly and professional. Although there is no such magic carpet in front of our door steps while they are working (like other reviewers' comments, I guess the house was still under renovation), they did clean up most stuff and keep possible clean condition when they completed the work. I am glad to have this team working on something important for a house and they are doing excellent. Thanks Bryan and the team!

While I had initially missed a message from Vicki at BQ (my fault), I had scheduled an appointment with another company to have the work done. They needed two weeks to have their electrician do the work, only to cancel their appointment, TWICE.

When they canceled I reached back out to Vicki because of her great follow-up. She then put me in touch with the owner, Brian.

Brian was great, he gave me 3 options for repair/replacement along with an estimate, right over the phone. Plus, it was reasonable. I asked when someone might be able to do the work, thinking a week out. He said he could have someone there in under an hour. Seriously??

Two of his guys showed up in 45 minutes and literally rolled out a BQ Electric carpet at my front door. They were funny, competent and efficient. Everything was taken care of in under an hour and they were on their way.

Look no further, and as BQ says: Doing it right costs less than doing it over. Thank you!

Called BQ Electric today based on the great yelp reviews and I don't regret it.  They answered the call and was at my house within 1 hour. Justin  diagnosed and fixed the issue within one hour as well.  I'm impressed by the service and professionalism.  As a single woman I liked receiving a text message advising which technician would be at my home along with his picture and his bio. Excellent touch!! The price was fair and reasonable. I'll be calling BQ for any of my future electrical needs.  Great job!!

I've received service from BQ Electric now and will now be going to them for all my electrical needs.  The first job was to swap out two outdoor floodlights and upgrade an outdoor electrical outlet for weatherproofing.  Guys professional, quick and got the job done.  The second job was to install a new outdoor floodlight which required a new line outside and to swap out two indoor light fixtures.  Different crew for this and they were just as professional.  They communicated well during the job and were able to find existing wiring issues that were addressed in the spot.  

I was able to speak with Brian prior to the job and you can tell right away he knows his stuff.  He's also very personable and gave a fair price.  Office staff who answers calls are really nice and jolly which makes the experience that much more enjoyable.

Brian does a great job with his staff and this level of professionalism is hard to come by nowadays.

6/30/17 - Brian reached out to me and explained that there were seemed to be some communication issues. Since we had not finalized on an electrician to fix our attic fan yet, Brian was willing to come out the same week and change it with a discount for my troubles. Bill and his helper came on Friday as promised. He took a look at our roof and wasn't able to replace the whole fan as I had discussed with Brian since he said it was too steep, but was able to swap out the motor as well as install a switch for us. They were neat, courteous and efficient. A mat was laid out at the bottom of the stairs to catch debris from the attic. The whole thing was done within 2 hours. Bill said this new motor should last us a very long time, which is good to hear.

6/28/17 (previous review, one star) - Not sure what the deal is - maybe business is booming so they don't care to return calls. I called and left a message with a pleasant woman, she said Brian would be getting back to me. That evening he called and left me a voicemail to call him back. So the next morning I called back. Left a voicemail on the machine. Two days later I called again and left yet another message with a woman who said she heard my message on the voicemail yesterday and that Brian would be getting back to me later that afternoon. Nothing. It's been about a week now. Moving on.

My family has been using BQ Electric for years. They are professional and the best at what they do. Brian loves his business and customers. It shows as he reinvests in his own business with their new backend software. Talk and meet Brian and you will understand why BQ Electric has 5 star reviews across the board!

Was looking for months to getting a lighting project done. Got multiple estimates, their rep Mark came by looked at what we needed done gave a price in 5 min. My wife and I were blown away on how reasonable the price was. Knowing that we were going with this company we didnt want to get to excited.

The team of 2 (Pete and young man sorry for got his name because I kept calling him kid) came to us on time the day we scheduled the work to be done. These 2 were amazing created less holes than estimates to run new wires for light fixes. Polite and clean while working. I would recommend

Updated:  Brian called me back today and explained he was out and hence the delay in getting back to me.  He took responsibility and took over the issues and now I feel like I'm back in the hands of a professional company.  He said he would have someone come out to look at what was done and repair as needed and see why the estimate was so far off.  This is why I like and support local businesses where I can.  Issues happen with everybody, but local means accountability and people who care about their work product.

Old review: Extremely disappointed in the service from this company.  Saw the reviews and assumed they would be reliable.  Their estimator came in to tell us the cost of our project (replacing, adding, and moving outlets on the first floor, and adding a ceiling fan).  He gave us a reasonable quote so we hired them.  When the electricians came to do the job, they said he was way off and added over $1000 to our total to get the same job done.  WOW. The guys who came were nice enough so my husband and I didn't want to bother restarting the process. One strike.  When they finished the job, they forget to patch up the hole in the bathroom where they moved one of the outlets.  Fine. My husband patched it up.  Strike two.  Strike three was the next morning when I came to find that the kitchen outlets which share a wall with the bathroom outlets they moved and pulled a ground from stopped working.  Seriously? I called them Monday and Tuesday morning to let them know I needed someone to come in and fix whatever it is they did.  Each time I was told by the very nice girl on the phone that would have to have the owner, Brian, get back to me.  It's Thursday.  No call to even acknowledge the problem and give me a date to have someone come out.  I don't like to disparage local businesses needlessly, but this is just ridiculous.  Between the last minute price switch, incomplete patch job, and now no response to having them fix what they messed up? I have to draw the line somewhere.

The company owner is sincerely concerned and determined to be the best and do the best work possible. His desire to let his customers know that he stands behind the work that is performed by his employees is impressive and he constantly strives to make his customers happy

Pro: Professional & Reasonable. Installed about 25 hi hats lighting in our new home, took 2 days including wiring. Very clean job and workers cleaned after themselves too. Will recommend for future jobs.

Con: they are known and booked, sometimes could take a day or two to get job started.

I reached out to BQ electric to further inspect an electrical panel during the process of purchasing a home.    Unfortunately, the seller killed the deal during contract which cost me a few bucks and time.  BQ provided a service and I was awaiting an invoice until they called me today. I explained the situation and Brian decided to waive the fee. Wow!!!  I wasn't expecting for this and ready to pay up, however, he was able to sympathize with my situation and knowing that I have lost some money in this process.

I highly recommend this company for their honesty and transparency. They were very accommodating and forth coming with their services. No games or hidden fees.

My experience with BQ Electric was great from start to finish. From the initial phone call, to speaking with Brian who was compassionate about my situation and got his workers out to me as soon as possible, to the two workers who were extremely professional and did great work. I would highly recommend this company.

My neighbor's tree fell and completely destroyed my electrical service. I found BQ Electric on the BBB website and sent them an email. I immediately received a phone call and Brian (the owner) came the same day to look over the damage and provide an estimate. He was really great and provided detailed explanations of the damages as well as several repair options to suit my budget. Brian answered all of my questions clearly and detailed estimates were also immediately provided in writing (pdf document). The next day at 9:00 am his team (Peter and Abraham) arrived on time and called ahead to let us know they were on route. The team was very professional, detailed in their explanation of their work, and completely cleaned up before they left. Since my electrical damage was so bad I figured this was an ideal time to upgrade my service and add a transfer switch for my generator to be connected directly to our electrical panel. Peter and Abraham did a great job as you can see in the attached photos. So, within about 24 hours from my initial contact the entire job was completed. My family and I highly recommend BQ Electric!

I needed to replace the weatherhead, meter base and conduit that's outside the house before my contractor would start siding work.  I got a couple of estimates but I was most impressed with Brian's professionalism.  He was very knowledgeable and suggested that I should upgrade my panel while at it (which I wanted to do anyway because it was an old box).  The estimates he gave me was actually one of the more reasonable ones.  Other estimates I got were 50% more than what Brian quoted me for both jobs.  I hired him on the spot and his team came a week later.

My only gripe is that Brian and the lady who called to confirm the appointment both said the team would arrive between 8 - 9am.  However, the team didn't show up until almost 11am.  I even called the office and no one picked up so I left a voicemail.  I understand that emergencies happen and could affect my appointment.   Those two hours that I was waiting for the team, I could've ran other errands instead of sitting at home waiting.  It doesn't matter which field you're in, communication is the key to a successful business.  It's better to be proactive & let your customers know in advance that there is a delay than having them getting a negative impression of the company.

BQ installed my thermostats and upgraded my electrical panel. Owner Brian goes above and beyond to help veteran like myself and Bill is very knowledgeable. Great company and great staff.

Called on three different occasions to get electrical work done. The third time I got it an appointment made and the day of the appointment no one showed up. Seems the appointment was not actually made. I was given an apology was told someone would follow up with me later that day but no one did.

I contacted BQ earlier today, and they were at my house in a few hours to run outside wires and install a new electrical outlet in our back yard.  Their team came over & they were very professional and did exactly what we asked for.  Very happy with their services & we will use them again for sure.  Thank you guys!

The best company you could hire. We upgraded our electrical service from 100 to 200 amp service. The electricians were knowledgeable, neat, polite & prompt. My son had recommended BQ Electric. The electrical inspector who came to check the work praised the electrical work as exceptionally clean, a number of times. Very happy customer!!!

Brian is very knowledgeable. Came quickly to give a quote to install 18 hi hats. Gave a very fair price. Guys came 3 days later. They where very punctual and got the job done quickly and efficiently. The job was beautifully done.

Misunderstanding, yet professional

Our outdoor lighting on our retaining wall and deck died on the Fourth of July.  We turned them on and heard sparks so we called another guy who took advantage of us and didn't fix anything.  We found BQ on-line and gave them a call.  They came out THAT day, diagnosed the problem, and fixed the lighting issue we had on the deck.  They gave us an estimate right there, and said that we would get a call to schedule fixing the lights on our retaining wall.  Fantastic!  Then our pool pump stopped working.  We thought it might be related so I called BQ again.  I think they spoiled us the first time but they couldn't get out to us as quickly as they had before.  After three days of calling the office seeing if we could get fit in, I called our pool company and they stated that the pump died and they replaced it (what BQ probably would have found out if they came out).  They told us to have the timer replaced and we ran our pool off an extension cord until we could get BQ here.  BQ added changing out the pool timer to the list.  We waited almost two weeks to be scheduled.  We got a call the night before that they couldn't do it because one of their electricians was sick.  It happens, I get it, but I was disappointed.  I asked if there was another electrician that could come instead and was told they are scheduled for other jobs.  Yes, so was I, why do I have to wait?  We have a dog with Epilepsy.  When she has a seizure she paces the backyard for a half hour.  We couldn't have a dark backyard if she had a seizure.  This is where the misunderstanding came in. We were told one thing about when they were coming and that is not what happened.  Angry now, I call BQ and the lovely girl who answered the phone said that Brian was in a meeting.  I hung up, called back and asked for my deposit back because I was cancelling the job.  Two weeks back and forth, pitch black in my backyard, and lack of communication; suddenly, the meeting is over and I got a phone call.  BQ insisted they were correct and informed me they would check the recorded phone call to confirm which party was correct.  Don't recall being told I was being recorded, but glad I was because I was correct.  Apologies followed and promises of coming out to do the job ASAP.  If I wasn't so stubborn and sick and tired of a two and half week back and forth, I probably would have still used them.  I do believe the would have done and do fantastic work. BQ was kind enough to send back my deposit AND the amount we paid them to fix the lights on the deck. This was sent with a very heart-felt letter of apology; very professional and an excellent way to say the customer is always right.  I am sure if we/you hire them they will do an amazing job (as they did with our deck lights) and you will make them your one and only electricians.

Brian and his team are the most professional electricians I have worked with. They have done over 10 jobs for me and have never had one issue. Reliable, honest and standing behind their work. It's a win win if you hire them.

Brian came in and gave us a fair estimate for a large job (moving our main panel and outside meter to another location). His team was very professional, neat, and courteous and completed the job in one day as agreed. They cleaned up after themselves and explained the work that was done in detail.

I have since used BQ to install a motion light on the side of my house. It works exactly as promised and was completed in under an hour.

I contacted BQ Electric to rewire my kitchen. They were able to come the next day and provided a fair quote. Brian and his team did the job well and I will definitely be using them again the next time I need an electrician.

These guys were amazing. Sunday night I was doing a project and accidentally drilled into a wire my wife got nervous when all the power went out and was worried that it could start a fire. We called this company 9pm on a Sunday and not only did they pick up but they reassured everything would be ok and to just turn off the breaker to that side of the house. I told them we really needed it to be fixed as early as possible. The guy Brian gave me his personal cell and told us that he would take care of it and have a guy first thing in the morning. When the guys got there they figured it out in less than 10 min and finished fixing everything under an hour. Guys were super friendly and if I ever have another electrical issue I will definitely call this company again. Thanks again guys!

After extensive research we chose BQ to do an electrical upgrade and it was certainly the right decision. Brian explained everything in detail ahead of time; his entire staff are polite, professional and very responsive. The technicians arrived promptly and completed the full day job as promised, leaving the inside and outside of the house in pristine condition. A++ experience overall!

I got in touch with BQ on a Tuesday and they were on the job by Wednesday. Very responsive. Steve and Brian were clean, courteous and fast. They laid out blankets and rugs and cleaned up the dust where the worked. The work was done very carefully and our new highhats look great. I had them upgrade the service in my house to 220, change the fuse box, and add several outlets. They were easy to get hold of to schedule the job and the job was done quickly. They gave us a fair estimate, especially given the quality of the work. Didn't try to upsell us on repairs that didn't need to be made. I'll have them back to do any work in the future and would recommend them to anyone.

Unreliable & inconsiderate to other people's time.  I would not recommend this company.

Brian came on site and gave us an estimate to install a new subpanel in our garage. He was a pleasure to deal with. His team arrived at the time promised, did a great job, and finished on time. The price was very fair. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Used BQ Electric several times.  Can't go wrong, reasonably priced and electricians all polite.  Explained what I needed in terms that a non-electrician could understand.  Would definitely recommend them.  Completed work within a reasonable amount of time.

We had BQ run dedicated circuits for two ACs units recently.  Aside from them not being the most punctual, the work was very good (so far) and the crew was very nice and knowledgeable.  The price was also very reasonable compare to some other electricians in the area.  Overall, I am happy with the work done although BQ can work on their punctuality.

There was a misunderstanding with BQ electric. The phone number that i was using was incorrect. As soon as brian found out about me trying to reach him he was there immediately and more then completed his hob.

BQ Electric installed high hats for us.  I was apprehensive because we just had our floors re-done in ebony and I was worried about scratches.  The two-man team was very careful and did a very good job of cleaning up and NO scratches!  The younger one, Mike, even helped me clean a light fixture I could not reach.  Found their work extremely neat and the two men accommodating and very pleasant.  They came on time, and finished the job within the time I was given.  I would recommend them without any hesitation.
