Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

They were very accommodating when I had to leave and come back while they were here. He checked the other drains at no extra charge to make sure they were working as well. Was done very quickly and called in the other help we needed for another issue.

Pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to take off work or pay a holiday fee for coming on a holiday to do the work.  Fast and efficient.

Im only giving 2 stars because I get the same drain cleaned every year and it always is $99 plus tax. So I call today and ask if its going to be the same price and the woman on the phone said yes? Its $99 Monday through Sunday so the guy comes over today (told between 2-6) & quotes me $205 plus tax. So I call the company back and they tell me that they never give prices over the phone. I ask to speak with a supervisor which they did. The women on the phone just tells me to print a coupon off online which is $40 off the ! 205 plus tax. It didn't matter how many times I tried explained the situation the women on the phone and the guy in my living room both kept interrupting me before I could finish and said no no we don't quote......well somebody did and somehow that's my fault.  So dissapointed in the customer service.......but at least my drain works now..........

A washer in my shower cartridge broke and as a result the shower wouldn't turn off.  Took the guy all of 25 minutes to replace and I get hit up for $300 bill.  200 for labor, 100 for parts.   Apparently they have a $200 flat rate for labor, which is absurd. Equally ridiculous is the $100 I paid for a rubber washer.   Roto-rooter will never get my business again.

Update:
After expressing my concerns above, was discounted $40.  Better than nothing but still feel like I was rolled.  I'm all for paying plumbers.  It's a dirty job and takes a high degree of skill.  $100/hr would be reasonable; $200 for 25 minutes of labor is unreasonable.

Called about the drain in my basement not draining and they sent plumber, Zac, who came within a half hour of me calling. He was helpful and explained everything he was doing. He came to the conclusion he misdiagnosed the problem, and didn't charge me, noting his mistake. I was so appreciative of the fast, friendly, and honest service. I also called on a Saturday and found it fairly reasonably priced for the weekend.

I called got a 2 hour window for service. Waited 1.5 hours and got a call saying all the plumbers were working on jobs ahead of me and would be another 2 hours. When I complained that I was given a time when I placed the service request, the dispatcher said that was an estimate. Very rude. Would never use

Owner rep called back, continued to make excuses. Not a company I'd ever work with.

Our guy was great, real nice, talked to me, friendly and awesome. Was in and out. However the scheduler quoted us between 8 and noon. He got there at 120. Not his fault he did not schedule us. The person who scheduled us shouldn't have quotes us that time if it was not going to happen. Again the guy was great but the people setting the appointments were not good. I had to work and I had to just sit around all morning and afternoon waiting

Horrible Service.

Came home early from work. Got a call they were coming. Waited three hours and called back. They transferred me three times and then the third said they weren't coming and hung up. I didn't even get mad. Called back and they said they could get me in tomorrow, but i have to take off again.

I would use a different plumber that respects your time and has good customer service

Called on the 27th of August because of an active leak at my property. they told me they could be out the next day between 0900 and 100 pm. The next day they called me at 1258 and told me they would not be able to make it. Had a bad experience the first time i used them but tried again since they would be able to be out the next day. there is no reason i will utilize them again after this let down. Would have been nice if they called me earlier so I could have made arrangements but of course that is too difficult. Please do not use this company as they are not reliable.

It is nice to have a company that is responsive and communicates well.  Had a plugged drain on a Saturday afternoon, called the RR number and got a pleasant service agent that scheduled me for service within 2 hours.  Within the 2 hours another agent (dispatch) called twice, once to let me know they were running a little behind and the other time to let me know Jeff was on his way.  Within 30 minutes Jeff was at my door, and it still was within the 2 hour window I was told.  Jeff was very knowledgeable, gave me an estimate and cleaned out the drain.  He went the extra mile to not only remove the clog, but took the snake all the way to the main line.  Very appreciative of Jeff's and RR's service.  Will call again if I need a plumber!

Good service, and nice guys...however the prices could use some work. I understand that the plumbing industry is notorious for uncharges, but over 200 bucks for a clogged bathtub!?!? done in like 30 minutes?!?! little bit insane. But I'm glad I can shower again haha, would recommend AFTER you try everything yourself first

Very prompt for the day after Thanksgiving.  Service called to update me on tech's eta which was appreciated and within the original time frame given when I called.

We called needing a plumber at 8:00 and they made it out by 9:10 the same day! They called ahead of time with enough notice which doesn't always happen with other companies. Timothy got the job done quick and was very polite. They took off the price of the coupon right away too!

Called for a blocked drain and a cracked pipe under the tub. Service was quick as usual. The guy they sent out caused an electrical problem in the house when he plugged in his snake machine, few different stories of what happened there but the company kindly recommended we get a electrician out for safety sake which is appreciated.  The drain cleaning that took 45 minutes from the time the drain 'specialist' came out to when he left including time for discussions with his boss about the electric problem and an explanation that a plumber would have to be called to solve the issue of the cracked pipe cost $234. The problem isn't even solved. I have done business with this company several times over the last 10 years. Lots of choices in town, I'll call someone else next time (or really this time since problem wasn't solved). Feel ripped off. 1 star for the manager caring about the electrical problem even knowing he was losing a customer.

Find out that myh water heater was leaking so I called Roto-Rooter.   Service guy named Phil came out and told me my worst fears, my water heater was shot.  A water heater that came with the house when it was built in 1998 so I think from living at my house since 2009 I got the mileage out of it!!!   Phil gave me an estimate on a new water heater and it was installed the very same evening.  Took about an hour and it's working as it should be brand spanking new!!

Customer service at Roto-Rooter was very helpful and polite.  Phil my service technician was very helpful and did an excellent job.

I would definitely recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone!  Thank you so much.

So they would not give me any kind of an indication of what it would cost to snake  my sink drain over the phone. Dude came in and quoted me $300 to clear the drain line.  I told him Burton plumbing and heating which I don't recommend for other reasons, has an $88 drain clearing special. And that I wasn't interested in paying $300. He left all pissy a couple of minutes later.

I snaked it myself with a $25 snake that I got from Lowe's. That's a lot of words to basically say do not call them under any circumstances

Roto-Rooter is prompt and very communicative from initial call for help until problem is solved.  Called early on a Saturday afternoon and received same-day service within a few hours.
Technician Jeff was very efficient and friendly.  We highly recommend Roto-rooter for your plumbing emergencies.

I had a clog in my laundry line and they responded quickly.  The issue is the technician wanted to use my hot water line to my washing machine to run water after breaking up the clog and he broke the handle off completely.  I looked thru my records and they were the one's who installed that spigot.  Then he moved on to the cold water and inadvertently loosened the packing nut and sprayed water.  Fortunately, tightening up the nut stopped it.  He then called and they were going to send a plumber out to fix it, and it sounds like they were going to charge me, but we did not get that far yet.   I mentioned that I had American Home Shield and I didn't use them because the response would be to slow.  The Tech told me that they actually work with them and that I could probably get some reimbursement.   So, I called AHS and they said that Roto Rooter just needed to call AHS and they would work something out and also get them approved for future work.   Good deal right.  Wrong!  I called Roto Rooter and said they would not call AHS because they never call Home Warranty Company.  Zero interest in helping me get reimbursement and this is after they broke the handle on my hot water line and jacked up the nut on the cold-water line.  Good job on the clog, horrible customer service.  The rep literally said, we are ok without your business.  Granted, I have used them only 4-5 times over the last ten years, but I expect better than that.  So, after $377 dollars for an hour of work, I am left with a broken hot water spigot, a compromised cold water spigot, and get treated poorly.  BUYER BEWARE.

Their online scheduling is a big plus. Fast and efficient. I'd recommend this business.

I was very impressed with the service I received from Roto-Rooter. They were very upfront with pricing. The service was excellent and the technician that arrived was the nicest, friendliest person. He was very efficient and did an excellent job. I will use them again.

We've had a team from Roto-Rooter out cleaning our main drain for the last couple days and could not be more pleased with their service.  First, Scott came to assess the situation.  He made a call right away to schedule Brad the next day to turn the outlet to gain access, and to schedule Jeff the following day to snake the drain and insert the video camera.  It was great to have him make the call and schedule the right people to do the job well.  It went very smoothly.  They were professional, skilled, pleasant to work with, came when they were scheduled to, and did not leave a mess.  Scott stayed involved to ensure it all went well.  We recommend them to anyone having drain problems.  We are thankful to have peace of mind again.  We've had the basement drain overflow before and never want to deal with that mess again!

I've used Roto Rooter for years.  They had to cancel yesterday due to many out sick with the upper respiratory illness going around but it wasn't an emergency. This evening Pat showed up when scheduled.  Super nice guy.  I received a 50% Off due the scheduling issues. So all in all still a good job well done! Oh & a 1 year warranty. Excellent.  It would have been 5 stars but I did lose a beautiful day due to the scheduling.

The technician showed up at the scheduled time.  He took the time to show and explain the cause of the plumbing issues.  He was upfront on the work and cost involved.

I made an appointment online and the email confirmation was quick and easy. Received prompt service, with an on-time and polite repairman. The service was somewhat expensive for what turned out to be wrong (just a lot of hair in the drain), but it did the job. I would call again.

Service was great and the work was well done. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that the worker came an hour after our time window. Was supposed to show up between 9 to 1 but came at 2:00

We had a wonderful experience with Chris (4479).  He showed up on time and promptly fixed our toilet problem.  He was knowledgeable and told us about the warranty.  I was pleased when I showed him the coupon I found on line he took $40 bucks off.  Will recommend this company to all.  Susie J

Their original technician said they would be by on Saturday morning.  They showed up after 4pm after a few phone calls back and forth !!

I was very happy that they were able to come out the same day to unclog our tub drain after our attempt to do so failed. Even though they do not have a service call fee their pricing was higher than other quotes we received. We were able to apply a 40.00 coupon from the website that did bring the price down to slightly higher than the other quotes. The work they did has a 6 month guarantee which is nice,  hopefully we will not have to use it but if we do I hope there are no further costs associated with the work. The tech was professional and very nice to work with.

Mitch at Roto-Rooter solved two separate leak problems for us.  We called about a major leak, and he figured out it was the cartridge in our Moen fixture.  He was neat, clean and professional.

When there was a part failure on that replacement, he came back out, replaced it, found a separate leak, and fixed that.  Again, neat, clean and professional.

Would use them again.

Made the appointment online this time to have the mainline cleared from tree roots. They do much like the cable companies and schedule a block of time in two hour slots. While they took almost the entire two full hours before anyone arrived, their dispatcher did call and the tech showed up within a few minutes.

All involved were pretty prompt and polite and listened to my issues and concerns. Tech even did clean up after the job was completed.

Plus is they had a $30 coupon from their online website and the Tech didn't even hesitate or ask questions which was awesome.

Bonus is they offer a 180 day guarantee on most of their work (especially main lines).

Down fall, last two times I've used them I get charged an $8 fuel fee. You think they could just roll that into their service call instead of itemizing something like that.

It was very nice you called to say you are running behind.  Then I got another call to say they are on the way.  He was nice even though we had a big problem and he helped us out.  The technician's name was Phil and his number is 4392

Only due to the very nice service man and his thorough work am I rating this a 4. We scheduled a Sat AM service and finally saw someone on Sunday. However we did get several calls telling us that there were only 2 techs available and they were way behind. I was surprised that such a big reputable company only had 2 techs out on the job but she said they'd be calling and coming at some point. We gave up and went to bed but did get a call that next morning that a tech was en route. And Bob came right away & took care of our problem and was very nice and gave us good advice. We have used Roto Rooter for a long time for home and our rental & hope they hire more techs for faster service so we can rely on them.

Ironic that I'm leaving 5-stars for a plumbing review...after all, when I have to call the plumber I'm typically not in the best of moods because it means there's an issue and it's going to cost.

We've had other plumbing companies out to our house for various reasons, but for the past five years we've been using the folks at Roto-Rooter. Always prompt, always polite, and always manages to fix the problem without calling five other technicians and leaving with a 4-digit bill for what seems a simple job.

So this morning while doing the laundry (on a Husker Saturday, mind you), we did not hesitate to call our go-to plumbing company when our basement drain decided to quit draining. We super-appreciate that Rene (#4410) got here at the top of the given time span (between 1-5 today) so we could take care of business before it was game time.

Found the problem. Educated my husband. Cleaned up before leaving. I also appreciate how he pointed us to a coupon (since Roto-Rooter does not have a frequent customer program for us - LOL).

It's now game time and our drain has NEVER drained this well (seriously).

The service member arrived on time and was very pleasant.  He diagnosed the issue and was able to fix the problem in a timely manner.  I would definitely use their services again!

I called on a Saturday afternoon, and they were able to come in a short period of time, and cleaned our drains quickly!  They were very helpful and professional.  We have used Roto-Rooter in the past, and have always had a great experience.

Great service, fast and friendly.  Service technician was personable and offered several options before we committed to an option. We also needed a technician to come quickly and we were able to get a technician the very next day.

Said they would send someone between 10-2. At 1pm they called and left a message, I called right back and they said someone would be there in 10 min. 70 min later, no one came or called. I called them back and they said since I didn't answer the first time they sent the technician somewhere else. Really frustrating.

Bart was great. was on time and very professional. Before calling I rented a snake and didn't think I fixed it, but I did clear the main line but the floor drain still backed up. Bart could have charged full price for drain cleaning but since he believed I had already fixed the problem he only charged me a service call fee. Now that is impressive even thou I am out little money I didn't need to spend. He was nice enough to reduce the charges.

The scheduling service was quick and painless. The tech was on time and the dispatch called 5 min before he arrived. The tech that came out was extremely courteous and professional. The main line was unclogged and he cleaned up after himself. I would defiantly call them again.

We've been having issues with our hose and we got water in our basement about a week ago.. we call roto-rooter and set up an appointment to get this looked at / fixed.. 3 times in a row they tell me they are unable to make the appointment, so I have rescheduled multiple times and get the same answer every time telling me they can't make it.. these ppl are not reliable at all.. not responsive or helpful in any situation.. the customer service is trash and extremely rude.. finally when I call to tell them I would like to cancel services with them.. all I get in response is.. okay bye... I would not recommend this plumbing company ever!

Absolutely awful in so many ways. Total lack of communication, incompetent, overcharged and broke my pipe! They said they weren't liable because they can't see the pipes when they snake them - but the pipe they broke was exposed and clearly visible. They should have known it was galvanized steel and informed me of the likelihood of it cracking. After they unclogged the sink and told me about the cracked pipe, they tried to say it was my snake that broke it, but that crack wasn't there before they came. After all of this, the guy said you know those kind of pipes actually have this problem a lot - would have appreciated knowing that before starting the process and paying more than twice what it should have cost. Then he told me I should call a real plumber to come and fix the broken pipe. Thought when I called for a plumber they would have sent me one but I guess not. Save your money and frustration and don't call these people!

The scheduling service was quick.  The tech was on time and called about 30 minutes before he arrived, which gave me plenty of time to get home to meet him.  The tech was very professional and courteous and fixed my problem within about 2 hours.

Scheduling was good, service at house was good..... Ended up costing more than the estimate but things get uncovered as they do with houses and  Brad was quick to deal with it and get the job done.

My main lineoverflowed Derrick and Joe showed up at almost the same time and got to work. Derrick on getting me flushing toilets again, Joe on getting my insurance to pay for cleaning up all the poopy water! WHO KNEW!!!??? These two are my hero's! I only regret that I didn't take the time to do this sooner! Everyone was very nice and professional. I was skeptical but everything I was promised was just as I was told. If you have a mainline issue get the Derrick and Joe team, or just plan on problems. They are the best! Oh and they are veterans as well!! How do you go from the blue water Navy to the plains of Nebraska???!!! GBR! I guess!

I had roto rooter come out to snake my basement toilet.  I usually have roots that need cleared on occasion.  They charged $350.  Two weeks later my basement plumbing was doing the same thing.  I called roto rooter.  They told me over the phone they could come out again at no charge.  They arrived at my house and said there would be a charge.  Because the problem was not fixed and they were going to charge me again for the same problem, I would not recommend this company.

Jeff was great! Same day service, explained every thing he was doing. I would recommend this to anyone. Thanks for helping.

I am impressed at the ease of scheduling provided via the Roto-Rooter Website.  The service provider was prompt and efficient getting my garbage disposal fixed and the leaking stopped efficiently.  I will definitely remember the name, Roto-Rooter, and watch my troubles go down the drain! Catchy jingle from back in the day.  Roti-Rooter has been around for decades and they continue to provide excellent customer service.  Call or Schedule online!

Customer service with Roto over the phone was a little rough. The person on the phone when I called in was less than enthused. The gentleman who came to do the repairs though was great. Quick to get everything wrapped up and working again.

Not as expensive as other local plumbers we have used and they didn't charge us an additional weekend rate like many plumbers do. Drain seems to be working fine and the tech was polite and came on time. I would call them again.

This was the WORST experience I have ever had with a plumber....let me explain so the average joe NEVER needs to call this company!!!!
First, they offer a $75 off offer...so, I ask how much to snake a kitchen drain. The lady states Oh, we don't give estimates over the phone...but, if you don't accept the estimate, there will be no charge to you.

Guy gets here (doesn't put his shoe covers on)...looks at the kitchen sink, looks underneath the sink, goes downstairs to confirm where the drain leads to, comes back up & gives me a price of $230 & that's with the $75 off!!!!!
I said, You've got to be kidding me? This kind of job has never been over $150!!! I asked him why he was ripping me off...not screaming at him, just speaking in my normal voice.... & The guy says that he doesn't have to take this abuse!!!!
I could not believe he used the word abuse because I asked why he was ripping me off!!!

Called them to unclog a bathroom sink on New Years eve. The price wasn't low - it was $239 (minus a $40 coupon I downloaded from their site) - but the tech, Derek [tech #4394], was great and got it done quickly. He was super friendly and knowledgable, and he cleaned up after himself, which is more than I can say for the last guy I had out to clear a sink drain. The price was fairly high, considering he was there less than an hour, but also when you consider it was a Sunday and a holiday, it seems pretty reasonable.

Cancelled last minute/ didn't show up to 3 separate appointments causing me to lose time at work and still not even get a quote for a water heater replacement.  Terrible business practice!  On top of that the costumer service rep was very rude.  Don't use them!!!

The technician was late azs other jobs were running long.  They called to say they were  late, called to say they were on the way and Jeff promptly cleared the drain.

We were not impressed with this company.  No written quote like they advertise, dispatcher lied saying he called 4 times when he only called once.  However, the service technician was really good.

Jeff was very friendly and made sure I knew my options before adding things to the bill. Can't recommend this company enough, I've worked with other drain and plumbing companies and none of them compare to the quality and friendliness of service

Prompt, professional, courteous, experienced, and got the job done! The service tech spent all the time the job needed and provided helpful hints along the way.

Called for a drain clogged in our basement furnace room.  They came 3 days later after continuously telling us they would be there in a few hours.  When they came they unclogged the drain promptly, and referred us to their water restoration service.  
This was a terrible experience where our home obviously suffered more damage because of the delay.  
It's really hard to find a plumber in an emergency, especially on the weekend, we could have found a different one if they would have told us it would be 3 days.  
When they came and fixed the clogged drain, they didn't bother to look at the sump pump.  I am calling another company to check that, and will happily pay them to service the drain yearly.

Roto-Rooter addressed a root ball blocking our drain between the house and the city sewer line.  The work required accessing the drain line 10 feet underground behind my neighbor's fence (under a retaining wall of railroad ties).  Roto-Rooter complete the sewer repairs and then left the site with the retaining wall dismantled and the dirt pile still there.  After I pointed this out, I was told I signed a release that acknowledged Roto-Rooter did not do landscaping work.  I agreed that I had, but I pointed out that the job was not complete because NO ATTEMPT WAS MADE to return the site to its original condition.  VERY DISAPPOINTING.  Months after Roto-Rooter left, the site was returned to a much better condition (see photos) without purchasing any additional railroad ties or soil by an overweight 63year-old man with a bad knee (me!).  See photos.

I had a sewer drain backup which required clearing. From initial phone operator to technician, everyone was courteous and helpful. The 24 hour service was a relief. I'd use their service again. The only reason I did not select 5 stars was the price charged for the amount of work completed...but then again...no more s#!+ floating on my floor.
