I used to be happy with them.  Then, during a routine service call, they claimed my heat exchanger needed replacing.  I told them I would think about it.  The tech literally REFUSED to leave my house until I made an appointment with a sales rep.  Apparently the sales reps were busy or out of the office, and he WOULD NOT LEAVE until I made an appointment with a sales person to quote a new furnace.  It got quite intimidating.  I half-serious threatened to CALL THE COPS to make him leave and was picking up my cellphone to do so (he was on my home phone).  Thank god he finally reached a salesperson.

So I got the hard sell on buying a new furnace, however two things they didn't mention.

1) My existing furnace was UNDER WARRANTY, and could be fixed for free (if there was actually something wrong)

2) I had another company  replace the heat exchanger (for free, under warranty BTW), and there was NOTHING wrong with it, they even showed me that it was 100% fine.

So their service people are intimidating and won't leave your house until you at least make an appointment to buy something (or threaten to call the cops), and will lie about a) Whether or not your equipment is under warranty, and b) They will try to charge you to fix things that aren't broken.

Update - I tried calling a manager, left a message, nobody called back. So I guess this is standard business.

Had a pleasant young man out for a bid on Friday.  As of 5PM Wed, still no bid.  I called to see if something happened to the young man, or when I might expect a bid.  I feared he may have been in an auto accident or was otherwise unable to work.

I expressed numerous times to the Gent doing the bid life took a very bad turn for me with multiple health issues related to drinking toxic water at Camp LeJeune that had already killed 18,000, that got bad enough it forced me onto disability and more than once being concerned for my very life.

I also expressed in certain terms I was trying to survive on a tiny fixed income, and am single with no second household income.  Clearly, a person severely strapped for money but who still needed a new furnace and AC.

I'd requested an A and B bid as most give you, to give me some flexibility in choosing the right units as I deemed appropriate, being handy and having a good basic grasp of HVAC.  I only received the one bid with the diamond and ruby add-ons.

Finally, my bid arrived Thursday via text, barely readable, and it was FIFTY PERCENT higher than another bid from a major local long-term HVAC company quoting quality Trane equipment, ....with the ARS bid including all manner of exotic add-on's like UV lighting, air purifier, etc on the ARS Ak-Sar-Ben form.  I clearly didn't want nor need those kinds of things and made this clear with the young man out doing the bid.

I cannot and am not able to assess their actual service staff.   I do know the brass at the local ARS were not interested in hearing of my experience with their company.

If this seems like the kind of company you want to do business with, here you go.    I took time out of my uncomfortable day to give ARS an opportunity to do business and this is the result.

Aksarben came out to prep my furnace for winter and told me the heat exchanger had cracks in it and should be replaced. The parts were covered under warranty and they wanted to charge me $1,040 for the labor to replace it. I obtained bids from two other contractors for this service, one was for $425 and the other was for $400.
Since my furnace and ac are 14 years old, Aksarben also gave me a bid to replace them at a cost of $8,739. The other two contractors who came in to bid gave me prices of $6,012 and $7,200.
Lesson learned for me was to never do business with Aksarben again, and to always get multiple bids to choose from.

All I can say is ask for Damien Dempsay. He's done big and little jobs for me and I will never call anyone else. He's super professional and he isn't satisfied until the job is done perfectly. Being from out of town, I need to rely on people being honest and doing quality work without having to check up on them. I consider Damien my friend in the plumbing business and I would recommend his services to anyone.

I called Aksarben And set up a time for a tech to come. I told them I needed a blower fan installed. That was all. They told me between 12:00 and 4:00 a tech would be available. 3:00 the tech shows up. The blower motor and fan were already out of the furnace. I took them out myself. Took me about 10 minutes. He tells me that they don't have a fan and that they want $89 for showing up and $100 just to go get the fan. That's not including the cost of the fan or a guarantee that they could even get it. Then he comes to me with an estimate for over $750.  This is a $350 job tops. This Aksarben heating and air is just out to get people. Don't be fooled. The tech was very nice and professional. Not his fault that the company he works for is so desperate that they try to take advantage of people. I could see on his face he was embarrassed to even tell me the price quote. There are too many other heating and air companies in this town now to not be competitive. Evidentially Aksarben can't handle the competition. I am in the home remodel business and I can say that no one I know or come in contact with will ever call Aksarben. Go elsewhere.

I called another company to come and do the same job. $120 is what they charged me. $120.

Incompetence. Probably the best work I can use to describe this company.

I had a plumber evaluate what was needed a few weeks ago then scheduled a follow-up appointment in which the plumber was to arrive at 4:00. A little after 4:00, after leaving my office early, I got a call from the plumber assigned to the job saying he wouldn't have enough time to complete the job. So basically, the instructions for what needed to be done were never considered when the time was scheduled.

A reasonable solution would be for Aksarben to cover the overtime cost required to complete the job. They weren't willing to do that despite the mistake being theirs in the first place. Now I have to reschedule and arrange to leave work early again as the problem continues to get worse and likely more expensive.

I'll be taking my plumbing business elsewhere and would recommend you do the same.

*** UPDATE ***

I wasn't expecting a call back from Aksarben after the situation above occurred, but their customer service lead did reach out and worked to set up time over the weekend for the job to be done. No additional charge (i.e. overtime). While still an inconvenience and a delay, I appreciate the way they quickly addressed the situation and made the best of it. We'll see how the work goes.

*** UPDATE 2 ***

Unbelievable. A plumber shows up on Saturday and obviously knows very little about the job. After looking at the work needed, he says two guys are required and there isn't another available. So basically the exact issue occurs again - the company is horrible at communication with their employees. Now, yet again, I'm trying to reschedule with Aksarben.

Incompent. That's this company in a nutshell.

Very satisfied. Back in December 2014, Kevin Davis came out and gave me an estimate, which I am very pleased with, on future plumbing. Today, Michael came out to check my furnace. He explained the services and how to save me money, which I like : ) I switched from Thermal Services whom I like very much, but their costs are becoming a little pricey, so we had to look for another service who had a good reputation but a little more reasonable. Both Kevin and Mike were efficient, professional, explained in clear detail so that I understood the pricing and services and I was pleased with the service. Thank you Mike for saving us money : )

Right now I am giving Aksarben a 2 star rating and they haven't even came to my house yet. Reason being I have my info to someone at Home Depot bc I was interested in a service check, this was on a Saturday. I usually don't answer calls or even near my phone during the weekend. They BLEW MY PHONE UP!! For the whole weekend. I'm talking calling from different #s leaving voicemails and texts. At one points they called and called back 30 mins later, like WTF STOP bothering people so much. I got to my phone on Monday where they continued to call and I talked to my wife. We decided to set something up, bc I am sure they weren't going to leave me alone. Borderline harassment! They have called multiple times every day since, what a nightmares it's already been and they haven't even stepped foot in my house.

We have been really happy with our service from Aksarben. Last year we signed up for their Service Plan which means we pay a small monthly fee, but that includes a free check-up on our furnace and AC each year and a discount on services and equipment when needed.
The crew has been really friendly and helpful when they come out and I appreciate the small touches such as putting shoe covers on when they walk in the door. The only downside of some of these service plans is that sometimes I feel they try and sell you items that aren't totally necessary so you need to know how to wade through that, but I would overall recommend

bought a new rheem furnace and a/c via home depot's purchase program (24 months, no interest). tony, the sales person from aksarben, was very helpful and accommodating. he got us a very reasonable price and was able to schedule the install within just a few days (this was when it was 105º outside, too).

the installers, wade and marcus, were very professional. they installed both the furnace and a/c in a single day, removing the old equipment and cleaning up really well after themselves.

based on my experience with aksarben/ars, i would recommend them to anyone looking for that sort of service.

This summer I used Aksarben to install new sewer lines for around $10,000.  I feel this was pricey but they did a good job.  Last month, I called them to service my Aprilaire humidifier. The tech pulled off the little humidifier drain spud and it was broken and corroded.  He said the replacement would be $57.  I told him this was outrageous for a little piece of plastic about as big around as a quarter.  I had a choice of putting the old one back on and face another service call later or take it and contest it later.  I called Aprilaire drect and that part for my model cost $6.25.  I could get it for even less or several on-line sources.  I have called the office several times to see if this price is in error or if they really take advantage of the customer.  I have spoken with Melanie who has promised at least twice to check this out and call back.  Every time I call, the person she needs to talk to is in a meeting. Really, this is over a 700% markup.  BUYER BEWARE!

Had a all new system put in our house not even 3 years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. Costumer service is awful. It took 2 years to get the humidifier to finally work after they installed, it went to turn on our air condition on at the beginning of the week and it wouldn't work so we called and set up and appointment for Thursday 3-6 took off work early to be home and then get a phone call saying they can't make it and there's nothing they can do about it. I will be taking my business elsewhere. If I could give  zero stars I would

Get another quote, so you don't have to write a review just like this one!

I was in the market for a new furnace and reached out to Aksarben heating and cooling.  I got a quote for upwards of $7500for just a furnace for an approx. 1700 sq/ft home.   I was told by their sales team this was a very good deal, as this was their discounted rate. I assumed Aksarben established and reputable business, however I quickly learned they overpriced and my installation experience can only be described as somewhat sketchy.

I did agree to the sale, they did show up on a Saturday and took the entire day to install.  After they left, it still being summer, we turned on our air to have our entire HVAC system fail and freeze up.  When I called for them to review their work, they claimed it was a coincidence.   They claimed my air conditioner now needed repair, but more likely replacement to the tune of another $6000 dollars, for a unit that was still supposed to be under their warranty from their previous repair.  They claimed the unit was out of warranty, at which time I stated receiving very aggressive sales calls to replace.

The whole experience had me feeling very uneasy, so I started calling around and immediately became aware their prices are almost DOUBLE than the industry standard.  I called and left messages to receive any sort of itemized receipt and they would not return my calls.  I then had to threaten to report them to the BBB, at which time I finally received a receipt with no additional details.

I did end up replacing my Air Conditioner through SOS Heating & Cooling at almost half the price of what Aksarben quoted me.  The SOS quote also included a better warranty and one I trust they will actually stand behind.

I feel taken advantage of!  Aksarben is using a very reputable name in the Omaha community and clearly they know that - which is why Aksarben Heating and Cooling chooses to not only price gouge their customers, but continue to try and do so after they have them on the hook.

RANTING AGAINST Aksarben Heating And Cooling
WHO ELSE HAS HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE
I Been battling with them for the past week over a 40gal $549  Reheem Water heater installed 3yrs ago now needs replacing they wrote up a contract for a total of $1890 with $1,345 for the installation offer a $175 discount ($1690)for this work rather than uses them again I by-pass them went to the manufacturer myself they are replacing it under the warranty free and someone else had installed it today for less than $200 I had a lot of work done through them that could have been major problems had I not had a neighbor that was a city inspector looking out for me Home Depot and the manufacturer both said the price wasn't right and Home Depot no longer has any one from there in their store
I gave them 1 goggle star and if possible I would make it a 0

My AC stopped working and Aksarben heating and air came to my home the day after I called them. After looking at my unit, the worker found 2 parts that were broken. The tech gave me the option for him to replace the parts or have another rep from the company come out to discuss an installation of an entire new AC unit. The rep said that he could replace the 2 parts but that wouldn't guarantee the unit would work. I felt he was trying to get me to spend even more money by buying a new unit rather than fix the one we have. He made up other potential problems like how we could have a freon leak or our compressor wouldn't work. We opted to fix just the 2 parts. They did the work and my AC now works. However, I found out later from a reputable company that I was charged double what normal price should be for the job. Also, my compressor and Freon levels are just fine, so I feel like he was trying to take advantage of someone who wouldn't know better. I also learned that Aksarben changes the names of the products/parts in order to confuse its clients and not allow them to look up the part online to see they are charging almost $400 for a part that costs $5. With paying double and feeling like the rep tries to talk you into spending more money than needed, I will never use this company again. After speaking with others about my experience, I have learned I'm not alone in Aksarben scamming people into paying way more money than was necessary.

As I write this am not happy with the service (lack there of) that we expected. Made a call at 4:30PM yesterday and was told it would be an hour or so and a technician would be out to replace our hot water heater. At 6PM I called to follow up and was told the tech was finishing up on a job and would call when he was on his way. At 7PM called to follow up once more and was told no one was in the office and they couldn't confirm our appt since he did not have access to the schedule. He did have a service tech call about 10 minutes or so later and Brian said he would NOT be out (no reason given)...they would call between 7:30-8AM tomorrow morning...NO CALL!

I called the office at 8AM and after holding for several minutes was told they could NOT confirm a time but would try to get someone out. Really 24/7 service, I don't think so. We did get a call from the QA dept with an apology, who wants an apology when they have no hot water and water gushing into a finished basement. Needless to say we are DONE with you.

Just as an aside, we called one of your competitors, who put us on the emergency schedule for this morning.

They installed a new furnace and heat pump. When it started smelling like burning plastic I called them out to check on it. They arrived, took everything apart and could find nothing. Told me that it could be the new plenum burning off oil from manufacturing. I have smelled that in the past on other furnaces, but not burning plastic. Then they charged me for a service call. Don't waste your money with these frauds. No such thing as service after they get your money. When I told the technician that I would not use them again he began to laugh. Dean Olson, Papillion.

Disappointed with the Home Depot process of getting a water heater with Aksarben as the install company.  Went to Home Depot found the one we wanted no associates so went online to order and had Andy the Comfort specialist form Aksarben show to the house about 2 hours later.  The water heater I was wanting and asked for, by price and specs, Aksarben does not even carry but did not let me know that, they ended up putting in a lower model than requested, with the charge being 3 times the amount of the water heater.  They offered to take it back out and give me my money back, very convenient, in the end settled for $200 back that, so far almost 3 weeks later, I have not seen.  The only good thing was the installer did do an excellent job, thanks Tyler.  So if you don't mind throwing money out the window, go with them, ask for Tyler at least you will get a good install.  Otherwise go to Home Depot, buy the one you want and get a plumber to come over and install for half of what these guys charge, better yet since Home Depot was more than happy to wash their hands of this whole event, go online get the same water heater from Amazon and have it delivered to your house and save even more.

We have a 3 year old Heating  and air unit they put in, this is the second year they told us we had a leak and had been low on coolant by 13 lbs! Got a second opinion and was not low but maybe a pound and it was a coil that was under warranty. Talk about trying to get more money for nothing!! I wouldn't ever use them or have them do any work for me or my business also very unprofessional management.

Sorry but Melanie is who we talked to and was NO help what so ever

Called for a service on my furnace which had broken. They sent a salesman that lied about a liability issue preventing them for working on it. Then you guessed it, they recommended a brand new system! I called my normal repair company Solutions heating and air who fixed it for less than $100. It is working like a dream now. Don't trust these guys to perform honest work. They are salesmen out to make maximum profit from you by trying to get you to buy a new system. Oldest trick in the book.

I called Askabren ARS to snake my drain. They won't give me a quote over the phone, but said they charge a $39 trip charge and than tech would evaluate. I called around and the 3 companies I called where around $100. Askabren Ars wanted $300 after they showed up. They knew the price ahead of time and won't tell me. I didn't have them do it but paid the $39 fee. Be warned with them on a simple drain snake service

AC went out the day before I left town.  I called them, they arrived for the appointment the next day as scheduled, fixed the unit, and left.  Everything was acceptable with the work, my issue is their price - which they discussed with my son, not with me, because I was out of town.    The repair was a bad capacitor.  The new capacitor was $75.  They charged me $700 for the repair.  $625 for a service fee and labor.  The guy was here for less than an hour.  I thought there was an error - so I called them to discuss.  After 5 days, and 4 calls, finally got someone who told me, nope, no mistake, that's just their rate.  That's insane.

I kinda suspect they gouged me a bit because they knew I was out of town and in a bind.  If they didn't then their regular price structure is based on buying new boats and vacation homes for the ownership group or something.  Won't be calling them back.

We wasted a Saturday afternoon to received a quote to replace our hot water heater for $1,700. When I asked for a breakdown of what made up $1,700, I was told it could not be done.  So here is the rub, a new hot water heater is $529 (Home Depot, which is who we booked the appointment through), Omaha permit $22.70, expansion tank $40.92, and let's add $40 for vales, pipe ect. Total cost is approximately $675 retail for parts (including $43 tax) so labor/overhead is $1,025 (ish).  I paid another plumber $300 (another plumber quoted $400) to install the replacement. I went another site to confirm my estimate, their range is $600 to $775 (est  $300 to $450 for the heater). I believe in people making a decent living, in my opinion this is excessive . Do your Homework it could worth about $500 to $700. Good Luck!

Not sure of the email response, I already had the work done and paid the costs as noted above.

Omaha city inspector came today  and advised it was pretty clear a permit was not pulled until I followed up with Aksarben ARS.  Worse yet the water heater was 'red tagged' because it failed the inspection.  Work like this always requires a permit and I was advised that in Omaha homeowners are not allowed to pull a permit for a water heater installation.  This is inexcusable for a company this big and a warning to others considering Aksarben ARS.

Aksarben has been our go to company for several years. They installed a new heat pump at a cost of $9000+, the unit was serviced every 6 months as recommended.  The heat pump broke down after appx 2 years. During our last tuneup I had told the service tech the unit was making horrible noises.  I even videoed the unit when it was making the sounds and showed it to the tech.  He was puzzled and contacted his supervisor to discuss the issue. I was then informed that the sounds were normal and that CARRIER had told them this type of unit made more than normal noise and to not install the units near bedroom windows due to the noise........ REALLY?!?!?!?
Shortly after that visit the unit quit working.  We were told the control panel had gone out and needed to be replaced under warranty which would run $250 for labor.  After waiting almost 2 weeks for the part the service tech came to replace the control panel and it was the wrong part.  The 2nd time out the control panel was replaced but did not fix the problem.  After expressing our displeasure about the service the labor was discounted $50.  We were then told the compressor was bad, an additional $1200 labor charge.  We had no choice but to pay it. We had to meet the technicians at our home 5 times during this whole process, which meant being available during a 4 hour window of time and missing work each time. Finally on the 6th visit the unit was repaired.  We were out $1400 plus missed wages.  Now that that the unit is running properly it sounds TOTALLY DIFFERENT than when it was new.  I believe that the unit was defective from the beginning.
The money was one thing, but the most disappointing thing was the lack of customer service.  It was impossible to reach anyone with any authority.  NO ONE was allowed to pass us or our problem up the chain of command.
Stuck due to the warranty on the heat pump and NOT happy!!

Watch out if you use them!

I have a unit of air conditioner did not work, Freon was empty, I called a technician, the technician just tested the Freon level and told me that:
1: the Freon was too low, I agreed it is almost empty, he could not add, because of company police;
2: he would not diagnose why it leaks, because the diagnose would cost extra money; he said that it does not work to repair -- this might make sense.
3): So he collect $89 call fee, and  So schedule a sale person to come to do estimate.
--- my suggestion based on this, do not call them at first place if you know the Freon is level, because they will not refill for you if you want to keep the unit.

Sale person came, looked around and here is story:
1): he told me: estimate was $6800 to replace air conditioner;
2): I said: ok, could you please wrote down: model, what the job include and let me think about.
(just after about 10 seconds after what I said)
3): the sale person said: you know what, we normally do not do in this way: we will not replace pipe and just power flush it; we will not replace the rack, just use existing rack, just replace the unit and hook them together, and simple, this way estimate is $4800.

Since then, called several companies, most of the companies are reasonable, but I landed one company with same brand air conditioner and replace pipe etc. which $1000 less.  --- however we will see result, I will post.

This company nearly sunk the sale of our house. They inspected our main sewer line and recommended it be replaced for $10,000. This was shocking to us, as we had not had any issues with it. We had another plumbing company come in and inspect it, and they said it was fine. However, we, as the sellers had to pay for the second inspection or pay Askarben to replace it. It was horribly stressful, almost made our buyers pull out of the sale of the house and forced us to pay for a second opinion. They also would not release the video of their inspection to us to get a second opinion. Money hungry and dishonest.

Flat out crooks. They send a tech out to diagnose your system and basically lie to you so he can get you to buy a completely new system from them. They told me I had a crack in my heat exchanger and needed to replace the whole thing. Luckily, I had someone else check the system before I agreed to buy a completely new furnace. It turns out there was no crack in my heat exchanger and I only found this out after having another company completely remove the heat exchanger to inspect it. I don't know how they get away with such foul business acts. Integrity is definitely not their strong suit and I would never recommend this company to anyone.

I have had nothing but bad luck with Aksarben ARS.  First, I'll start with the positive.  They have amazingly kind customer service, every time I call with an issue they do their best to solve it, however with the exception of one issue, they haven't been solved.

The first problem was after my plumbing inspection, which came back fine (outside of some old pipes).  The very next day I discovered a plumbing leak that should have been discovered during the inspection.  They did refund me part of my payment, but could not get a plumber out for weeks since it was non-emergency (it was a minor leak).  I ended up paying another plumber to come out despite being on the home maintenance plan.

They continued to call me for an air conditioner check, and I appreciate they wanted me to get all my services but I don't have central air.  It ended up being a nuisance to answer all these calls.

Finally, I tried to cancel my service months ago because I wasn't using it enough, and when renewal came up they continued to charge me.  I called, and was promised a refund for the month I was wrongly charged, and confirmed the cancellation.  The refund was never received and I was charged again this month.  I discussed the issue with them again, and of course they were very nice on the phone and assured me that it would be elevated and resolved, we will see.

I hope that they can resolve issues because I do believe that they try, and personally cannot speak to quality of work because I couldn't get a technician out when I needed it. Currently, they're not the right company for me.

I would NOT recommend using Aksarben ARS to anyone.  Our capacitor needed to be replaced on our air conditioner.  The technician, Eric S. replaced the capacitor and then at the end told us that we needed a new air conditioning system and if we had the sales guy come to our house to talk about the options that he wouldn't charge us for the capacitor.  By the way they charged us $375 for a capacitor and that was after a $50 coupon and that didn't include the service charge either. So I got a second opinion.  Not only does our air conditioner not need to be replaced they other company said they would have charged us about a third of the price.  The worst part about all of this is that the technician put the new capacitor in and then after he was done and going over the paper work he tells me the cost is $375 but if I wasn't happy with that he could take it out.  Really????   That is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Do not call Aksarben for a main line clean out unless you want to spend $400. Other companies will do it for half that. We had to spend $40 for the service call fee bc they seemed reasonable on the phone. It was way higher than anybody else we have had over the years. Last time it was $175 and it lasted for three years. I'm kicking myself bc I can't remember who we used then and went w Aksarben bc of the good reviews on yelp. My wife said the guy wasn't very nice although the kid he was training was very nice. There's hope for the next generation of Aksarben guys, but we'll never find out

I purchased a new water heater from Home Depot (online) and their installation company in this area is Aksarben ARS.  Aksarben's sales representative come to my house (at the scheduled time) and reviewed the various options available to me.  After discussing the options, Aksarben processed my payment (on my Home Deport card) and scheduled the installation for the following morning.  The installer arrived within the scheduled window and completed the removal of our existing water heater, installation of the new water heater (including minor reconfiguration of water supply and gas supply lines), and cleaned up his work area.  The new water heater works great.  The service was all very professional and I have no complaints.

Buyer BEWARE, we have been a loyal customer for 23+ years using Aksarben for Htg/AC units in 3 houses.  Most recent was a Heat Pump with electric Heat backup.  We have paid monthly for their service program for 2 maintenance checks per year only to have our compressor in this unit go out for the 4th time!! The first time was just 2 years into it.  Spoke to sales rep Tony and wow arrogant, cocky with no sense of customer loyalty. He provided us only 1 option with a price so inflated we couldn't even consider it.  Having a new Carrier system installed and low and behold you should see the system they pulled out.  So happy (NOT) I paid for the service program all these years as they did absolutely nothing, the system looks horrible and untouched.  If that's not enough we come to find out they installed the unit incorrectly from the start, they bypassed the largest required air exchange which could account for the 4 frozen compressors.  We have wasted so much money with Aksarben on their you need to fix this and replace that and the costs of 2 additional compressors it makes me furious.  Especially since our compressor issues have clearly been their fault, I felt compelled to place my first review in hopes to divert others to search elsewhere for their Htg/AC needs.

I recently had Aksarben replace my Renaii water heater that was under warranty at a cost of a little over $500. Then I had to call them back because my fireplace pilot went out when they turned off the gas. I waited 4 hours for a 2 minute job. Then, the next day, my facet for my tub lost pressure. While the tub was running, the toilets inthehouse wouldn't fill. Once again, I had. To have Aksarben come out to correct a situation they said WAS NOT connected to the original problem. For $270 they would replace a cartridge that just happened to go out. I told them I wanted the original cartridge as I would see if it was warranted. The tech went to the parts warehouse, returned and reconnected the original part, as they needed to order the new part. After connecting the broken part, it miraculously, it worked. I was out almost $200 this time. Sounds fishy to me. Am going to further investigate this. My advice,  don't use Aksarben

UPDATE:

My husband talked with John, Aksarben's Quality Service Manager, who helped resolve our concerns in a professional and ethical manner. He was fair in settling our problem. We are pleased with the result. Thank you ARS and Yelp, for helping us with our situation!

I had them redo piping in a house I just bought 7300 and couldn't complete job right. I had to call them a couple times after that and it's still not done right frankly I'm tired of having to call them. They didn't even finish on of my pipes. All there worried about with loan money is getting it signed off. They don't care to explain anything or even bother to ask if your satisfied with the job they just want a signature so they can get paid. I would not recommend them. Shop elsewhere.

I really dislike giving one star ratings, but I feel that this is well earned.  Strap in, this is a story.

I had an appointment with them Wed to come out and look at a stopped up tub drain.  When they got here, they charged me the $49 trip fee, and discovered that my tub has a drum trap rather than a P trap.  They were unable to snake it, and left me with a stopped up drain and another appointment for Friday when someone would come up, punch a hole in the ceiling of my kitchen, and replace it that way.  Ok.  I wish I had better news, but I can wait since they seemed to have tried, right?  I come to find out, they weren't that great at their job.

Friday rolls around and the new tech immediately finds the access point to get to the trap that the first set of guys missed.   He however, for whatever reason is unable to do the work, advises me the job is bigger than I was originally told, and has to reschedule me for another estimate next week, Wed.  On top of that, he starts talking about how they can't just leave the lead pipes in my 100 year old house alone, and have to bring the whole bathroom up to code.  They might even have to pull a permit and get the city involved.  That can can cost upwards of $4000 dollars and leave me with multiple holes in my walls for upwards of a week while we watch to make sure none of their work leaks.  I asked if they'd be repairing those holes, he said no.  They'd refer me to a contractor for even MORE money.  I'm seeing red at this point.

When I said that I had just spent nearly $15,000 on a new HVAC system with them not two months earlier hoping that might mean something, he didn't miss a beat in telling me that's another arm of the company and the only way they could cut me a deal was if I was in their special customer program. He didn't take the time to even appear to ask if they could do something for me, especially having discovered their first set up guys missed a major part of what I would think their job it. To go with them, I'd have to be without my tub yet another week. This is the same company that offers 24 hour service on their website, mind you.  And they can't get anyone out to make things right, much less get me an estimate for another 5 days.

I'm not pleased.  I have since called around, and Major Drain will be at my house tomorrow, a SATURDAY without charging me weekend rates.  Now that I have access to the trap, it's possible to snake it, and they're going to try.  Later in the week, if I want, I can talk to them about what it will cost to replace the trap, and the trap only.  Barring major changes, Major Drain will have my business instead of Aksarben ARS.  Please consider this when looking to use their services.

I bought a water heater from Home Depot and they told me Aksarben was their contract installer. I said fine, because I had done buisiness with them in the past. Nick came out ,looked at the job and told me it would cost 1452 dollars total for this job with a 10 per/cent discount from Home Depot. I expressed surprise at the price! I had a 400 dollar off coupon sent to me from Aksarben for water heater installation. I assumed that the 400$ would be subtracted from the 1452$ bill! I was wrong. The bill from the installer was 1452$. The water heater cost about 630&$ . That means Aksarben  was charging me 800$ for lnstallation for a job that took about 2 hours to do. I called them and was told that yes the coupon had been subtracted, otherwise the job would have cost 1852$ . That meant they would have been charging 1200$ labor for a two hour job.      The coupon was obviously a scam, and their pricing was ridiculous and out of line and I for one will never call Aksarben again . I will also spread the word as much as I can. The

Dan was an amazing plumber.  Our toilet was clogged and leaked all over the floor; he cleaned up the mess and took care of our plumbing issues.  He went above and beyond his job and did it with a kind word and a smile.  I would not have anyone else help me with any plumbing issues.  I will be requesting him for all future jobs and recommending him to my friends!

Eric B. was the service technician. He was professional and personable. He explained all the stuff we needed for our old furnace. He didn't oversell or undersell. We weren't pressured. He made several recommendations for and we chose the one that seemed best. Everything was explained and shown to us. We are very happy with the service from Aksarben.

Had them put in a brand new Trane heat pump system less than ten years ago and have had nothing but trouble since that point.   My experience was that they worked though issues by trial and error.   Replaced parts that were not covered under warranty that I later found were marked up 200%, and then had to come back and install something else.  After five trips and an estimate of $1300 in labor to fix the issue I called in someone else and they fixed the issue for less than $200 including service call fee.

My recommendation is that they fix by trial and error and charge for every attempt that they make.   If you are looking at a new system do the research and check out all the manufacturers warranties.   I was really disappointed to find out that some of the other brands that do not advertise as heavily actually have much better coverage.   My new system has a 10 year parts and labor warranty and was thousands less, apparently the big name brands invest more in advertising than in coverage of their systems.

I had a tech out and was told that they needed to do a leak search but couldn't quote a price on the repair until I paid them $128 to do the leak search.  Then the tech said that they needed to do some a/c perform for $300, replace the blower motor for $525 dollars, and replace a blower phase inverter for $78.  He recommended that I speak to a comfort advisor to go over my options because it may be cheaper to get a new unit all together.  I have a home warranty company that covers my furnace and air conditioner so I wanted a second opinion.  They came out and said the only thing that was wrong was that it was a pound low on Freon and they got me all fixed up for $65.  I told the tech at Aksarben that I couldn't pay for any major repairs right now as my husband just completed treatment for cancer and he assured me that we could be financed.  I also checked with a friend who's husband use to own a heating and air business and after he read over the paperwork from Aksarben, he advised me to cut ties with them because they were just after a sale.

Came home at 3:30 in the afternoon on Saturday to inside temperatures in the mid-60's, about 6 or 7 degrees cooler than the thermostat setting.  I could tell the furnace was trying to turn on, but just when the burners should come on, it would turn off and start the cycle over again...  I wasn't familiar with Aksarben Htg, but their number was on a prior service record attached to the furnace of the home we moved into 1 1/2 years ago.  I left a message with the call center that answered, and received a call back from Mark A. about 15 minutes later.  He was able to get a good idea what the problem was and was able to make a service call a little over an hour later.  He did everything right and was courteous, professional, and explained the problem clearly, and had it fixed within a short amount of time.  While this service call wasn't cheap, as I'm not signed up for their annual service plan (yet), I did perceive the value as keeping the family warm during the winter is high on the priority list.  Thanks Mark A.!

We got the monthly service contract for heating and A/C.  It mostly seems that we are paying them to come and offer to sell us something.  So my spouse called their office to cancel the service two months ago.  We are still getting billed for maintenance services we do not want.  We are still being harassed by the scheduling telemarketers.

terrible customer service.  I made appointment 10 days early for a Saturday.  Was supposed to be here between 8am-12pm.  No one every showed I waited at home all day on a Saturday.  I finally called at 3pm and was told that I was not a priority because other customers were without working air conditioners, and that I could reschedule for a week day appointment.  While I understand that and I would never want to be without air, what is the point of making a appointment with a 4 hour window and not being here during that time.  You would think they would plan for that.  I was told when I signed up for their service plan I would get priority service calls but apparently that is not worth much.  That is unacceptable and poor service!!  I promptly cancelled my monthly plan.  Please look elsewhere if you want a company that shows up during the scheduled time frame.

AC went out and the tech refused to find the replacement part, only wanted to sell me  a new unit. Finally, he agreed to even look for the part. They ordered it from Texas.
A week later (98 plus heat), the tech shows up to install the part and his equipment didn't work. He was at our house until 9pm, calling other employees for help. He left, no AC...
The next day, we had to practically beg to get another tech out that morning as we were miserable. It took that guy eight hours to figure out the problem... a tiny O-ring . $3,000 plus later

Unbelievable. They are only interested in selling you expensive equipment as opposed to actually fixing the problem. Ethically disgusting!

When I called to cancel our service contract, the CS representative laughed.

AKSARBEN IS A TERRIBLE CHOICE. PICK LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE.

When installing our heating unit, their own records showed that nothing was wrong with the AC coil. When we turned on our AC, it began hemorrhaging freon and their own repair man said that it looked like the coil had a hole and that it might have possibly been clipped from the installation of the the new heater.

So having clearly damaged our coil, you'd think they would correct the problem, as any good business should, right? Wrong. We called into the office and were told that we would have to pay for the labor of a new coil installation. The coil was under warranty, but the cost of the labor would still be considerable.

Not only are these people incompetent -- they are dishonest. Choose a company with integrity. Choose a company that will own their mistakes and correct the problems they cause.

Initial contact via website was not returned at all.  Spoke with a rep and scheduled an appointment for a week in advance.  Recieved a phone call one day before the appointment informing me of an additional fee on top of the service call fee because the house was located in Plattsmouth, which is 21 miles from their location.  Was supposed to have a tech arrive between 12 and 4.  Received a call at 315 saying they would not be able to be there until after 4 pm.  Was enough to cancel the appointment and find someone else.

Called ARS for yearly service check. They told me there was something wrong w/my air conditioner and it would cost me between $200.00 and $2000.00 depending on the problem to fix and I should just buy a new one for $6000.00 Plus if I kept my current air conditioner I would need freon for $176 because I was told they don't make it  anymore. LIE. Plus I was told that on the first hot day, the coil would freeze.LIE I ran it for two weeks and no freezing. I just had an uncle of a friend who does HVAC come out and there was nothing wrong with my air conditioner. He added a # of freon for $36 and told me they absolutely still make it. He said all I needed was a new thermostat. Total cost $146 including his labor and service fee.
Signed up for their service plan which I canceled after a year because I didn't need it and it took me 3 phone calls and three months to get my money back and cancel my plan.
They wanted to charge me $500 to unclog my kitchen sink I got that done for $100 These people are all about the money and if I had not done my due diligence could have ended up spending thousands vs $146. Please do your due diligence or you could end up spending thousand more than necessary.

The other day my furnace quit working, called ARS and said they would have a technician out in about 3 hours.   Technician arrived as promised.   After about 30 minutes he said I needed a ignitor, control board, flame sensor, and blower motor.  The cost were $259, $179, $559, and $775 respectively.  Also said it would take 3 business days to get a control board in.  He then said I should think about a new furnace and that he could send a sales guy out in about an hour.
I called another HVAC repair service and after describing my issue they thought is was a control board.  They sent somebody out replaced the control board and ignitor and cleaned the flame sensor for $540, heater working.   How does one company have a control board and ARS quoted 3 business day to get one???  This HVAC company also said the control board and ignitor came together as a kit.   Not like the itemized quote from ARS.
Also the furnace quotes were very high from $4100- $6500 depending on furnace efficiency.

Had the same experience with Aksarben as a couple of other people did. Same pattern. They came out for the fall/winter tune-up and suddenly the tech noticed that my heat exchange was cracked and had to be replaced. He had a camera that was supposedly going up into the furnace showing the crack. He said he would have to shut my furnace down because it was unsafe and that he was required to have a supervisor come out and verify his finding. I was getting angry by this time. It was clearly a scam and I told the guy that I thought it was a scam. The supervisor came out with his camera and showed an entirely different picture of a crack than the first guy did. I suspect these are photos they already have installed on their cameras. I ordered them to leave my house several times before they finally did. I was a long time customer but I'll never use or recommend Aksarben again for anything. Can't believe they tried the heat exchange scam.

Aksarben came out to look at a leaky shower faucet and ended up replacing the cartridge.  The plumber was pleasant, informative, professional, and did a good job.  However,  he spent approximately 30 seconds diagnosing the issue, 10 minutes discussing the issue with me, and 3 minutes doing the actual work.  The replacement part is available at Home Depot for $20.  My bill was $291.  I find this completely outrageous and feel taken advantage of.  For anyone doing the math, at $271 for 15 minutes of labor, this comes out to approximately $1000/hr for labor.  I will not use Aksarben again.

They also said they had no appointments but a tech would be out at some point. They came not even an hour later.

Home Depot contracts with Aksarben for installs of hot water heaters. I wasn't home when the sales guy from Aksarben came to our house. My wife ok'd the purchase thinking it was what I picked out in the store. The cost of the water heater should have been $603.00 but they charged $1,395.00. The install should not have cost $792.00. What a rip off. I called the sales guy and asked for an itemized list of the cost. He said he would have a manager call me. It took me 6 attempts to reach a manager. Once I did he said the extra cost included permits, disposal, parts, and labor but would not give me a detailed, itemized list of what those costs were. He said they just charge a flat rate. Auto mechanics are required to give you one. Perhaps because people complained about being ripped off. Well, maybe we should complain to our legislature about plumbers. Stay away from these con artists. And don't do the install at Home Depot. Hire your own plumber...NOT Aksarben ARS.

We called Aksarben to fix our furnace the day after Thanksgiving.  Called them around 1 pm and they showed up after 8 pm.  The guy said we needed a part for our furnace and since it was after hours, there would be a $100 charge to make the phone call to the warehouse to see if they had the part and he couldn't guarantee they'd be open since it was a holiday weekend.  I told him that I didnt feel it was fair we be charged for after hours when I called them at 1 pm.  He also said it would be another $100 to pick the part up and said he didn't have any idea how much the part would cost without calling the warehouse.  We paid them the $89 charge to come out and decided to wait on the rest since he told us he could call the next morning to see if the warehouse was open for free, so my mother, who was house sitting, sat all night in our house without heat.  The guy called shortly after 8 am the next morning and told us the warehouse wasn't open.  He also told us that he broke a tube on our furnace when he was looking at it and could get it working for us until Monday when the warehouse would be open for the part we needed.  Really?  Why didn't he do that the night before?  We told him forget it.  We called the wholesale distributer after 9 am and found out they were open.  We called another HVAC company and had them company get the part and install it.  Never again will we call Aksarben.

I scheduled an appointment for a tune-up while shopping at the Home Depot. The representative I spoke to was an Aksarben HVAC employee. He handled the scheduling and provided me with written documentation for the scheduled appointment. After a few weeks, I received a confirmation call from an Aksarben HVAC representative the day before my scheduled appointment; 8 to 12.  At 11:30 AM, I called Aksarben HVAC to find out the status of the technician. After being on hold for 3-4 minutes the lady came back and told me that they showed that I had rescheduled the service for the 20th of May. At no time did I call to reschedule the original appointment date. I pointed out that I received a confirmation call the day prior. I was offered to have the next available technician to come but a time frame could not be provided.  After waiting for almost 4-hours for a technician, I cancelled all requested services and will go with another company who can keep their appointments and promises.

Came out to find out why our A/c wasn't working.  Told us there was a leak above the furnace.  Said that it would cost us $2600 to repair.   Had a friend of a friend come out, who happened to be an apartment complex maintenance man.  He hooked up his reader to test for leaks, not one drop in pressure at all, he also checked everything thoroughly, no other problems.  No drop in pressure means NO LEAKS.   He went and filled us up with Freon and our A/c has been working perfectly for the last week.   Aksarben ARS is a sham and a fraud and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Here is the review (1 star) for Aksarben ARS : I had Aksarben ARS come out because we had a partially blocked plumbing. We paid him $159 to run a snake through to get it cleared out. Where we at least had water draining slowly, they did not run the snake completely all the way through and compacted / blocked the plumbing from draining. The guy left; said nothing. Ran water and it was completely blocked. Had to call them back and tell them they didn't fix it. They said someone would come out tomorrow with a camera. I called back to get them out today! The guy with the camera called, never came out and wanted us to pay $1200 to get it broke loose with high-pressure water. I am done with Aksarben ARS. They didn't charge us for the half assed snake job they did but still took our service money ($55). Called Rotor Rooter same day. They came out with a snake and fixed it. We don't want people getting scammed by Aksarben ARS.

Big FO to Aksarben ARS; in which I said a little (Very Little) kinder way when I talked to them. I'm waiting for them to return my message to let them know that there are people out there that know how to fix things. Here is a constructive review:

Aksarben ARS. Making it work. Making it right!

Making it work? - Nope.
Making it right? - Nope. Came out, made thing worse, and took our money (just to make money) on a service call because they are incompetent to make it work and in competent to make it right, knowing that they didn't make it work (without telling us) nor make it right by not charging us for their inability to know how to fix it.

One more thing to add; the person that came out use to work for Aksarben ARS and said.. 'Let me guess. They did the bare minimum to send someone out the next day'. Interesting how others knew Aksarben Plumbing's Tactics.

I am so glad I didn't go with them. I had them come out to look at my sprinkler system which was leaking. They quoted me over $700 to fix it. The service tech tried to convince my wife to go ahead with the change since he had over 30 years of experience. She called me and I said no. Then I looked the problem up on Youtube, found the fix, ordered a pressure vacuum breaker repair kit from Amazon, and fixed the problem for $8.

An $8 problem that they wanted to charge me over $700 for. Insane! I will never call them again.

Everything started fine.  Plumber was prompt, initially diagnosing dried putty around the shower drain causing the leak.  Bill would be $105 (one hours labor) and the $45 to show up.  When testing after found that drain pipe at the shower was cracked.  Plumber said he had to get a part and that the bill would be $451!   He got the part, installed it and charged $451 for the part and the $45 to show up.  We had a coupon for $55 off so the total was $441.  The plumber was there a total of 2 hours including going to get the part.  My wife paid.  When I got home I was stunned and went 2 days later to talk with the plumbing supervisor at Aksarben ARS.  Tom said he needed to talk to Jamie the plumber and find out how he got the number for the bill he did.  Some lady from the firm called the next day and explained that when replacing parts they come with their own time period so the price is not how long it takes to  install the part but what they can justify as a price.  Imagine what car mechanics could charge!  I cannot recommend these people and urge you to try another plumber.  Also get the price estimate before the work begins.

I wouldn't recommend to anyone! Call on a Friday evening, they told me someone would be out that night, at midnight I called, they resubmitted the order, at 3am I went to bed.  Nothing, the night before my sons graduation party. Yes it was an emergency!  I called Saturday morning to see what happened, no one knew, but they did sent someone out.  The guy that came out said he was going to have to charge me to put the side back on, because a friend cleaned it out? Really?? I have a drill I can do it, anyway told me they could fix it but it wouldn't be until Sunday. Also said it would cost between $1100.00 and 1500.00.  It's 17 yrs old, so of coarse he scheduled a guy to come out Monday to give me a quote. I spent $89 for nothing! I canceled on Monday, had another guy look at it, he fixed it in 5 min, put the thing back together and charged me $120.  Had the part in his truck, askarben told me the part they needed was at a shop and closed on the weekend for them to open would cost me $100.  Seriously the biggest scam/ rip off ever!! Do not call them! I wouldn't even give them a star but it's the only way to post.

had contract with Aksarben ARS for many years. l knew they were more expensive but thought they were reliable and honest. this year a young guy came out and did my air conditioner check. told me I needed a bunch of stuff including charging the AC with coolent. and he said it wasn't hot enough for him to do so I scheduled another appt with them a week later. a diff ent guy came and said my TXV needed replacing. he said with my discount it would be $1400. I told him I would have to check around. I called SOS. they looked it up and with NO discount it would be $800!! called one other company, priority mechanical, same. he came and it ended up that it just needed to be cleaned!!!

They will install all of the wrong systems and when they don't work, make you jump through hoops to fix the problem. They are not a reliable installer of HVAC or Heating. I would go somewhere else

While I would love to contact Michelle, it would be awesome if they returned phone calls. Feel like a ghost buster chasing ghosts.

I used to be a fan and even had a service plan with them for years. I did have a few techs that were great for heating/AC repair. But when I needed a new AC unit this summer, the price they quoted was MUCH higher than the other 3 companies that I had come give me estimates. Plus, they tried to oversell me on a larger unit than I needed. Unfortunately, my experience with their plumbers was horrible. Had a leak that was due to a broken stopper. Charged close to $200 to replace a $15.00 part (and only took 15 min). Then, the senior tech found the line was also clogged. Said they had to call another tech to clear the drain. They tried to charge for another service call and another $400. Honestly, this was the first time I ever lost my temper with a service person, but I was able to get the price reduced.

Pretty disappointed in their lack of service. We called because they advertise 24 hour service and well, that's just not true. We called at 930 in the morning with our issue and were told someone would be out today, didn't know when but they would call when they were on their way.  6 hours go by with no communication so we call back and finally someone calls saying they actually won't be able to come and help us. I would have completely understood that and not been upset had they mentioned that the multiple hours before we sat around our house all day waiting for the plumber to call. Customer service is so important and I am pretty disappointed that I was denied an opportunity to actually have been a customer. As it is now, I won't be calling them in the future and will discourage others as well.

Pre-scheduled a call for a sink that would not drain on Wednesday 5/28/14. My husband waited from 4 pm until 6:45 pm for a tech to arrive on Friday 5/30/14. I called to confirm we were on the list at 4:30 and again at 5:52 pm. I was told with less than 10 minutes to spare that the tech was 'on the way'. My husband was stuck waiting an additional 45 minutes past our scheduled time. The tech was to give a written estimate of the cost. If I would have known it was $39.00 service call and $210.00 to snake the drain regardless of time spent I would have sent him away with the $39.00 ONLY. My husband states he was NOT offered the written estimate until AFTER the work was done. He was pressured again to purchase the service plan, which I explained to the person I scheduled with we are planning a move so it would not be needed. Never in my wildest imagination did I expect to pay this crazy amount of money for 10 minutes worth of work. BTW, the after hours charge is $150.00 to walk in the door! There are plenty of other reputable plumbers in the area that are less expensive, lessen learned.

Absolutely horrible service. Supposed to come out in the morning to fix an air conditioner on one of our commercial properties. didn't show up when we call to check on the appointment, we were told nobody was coming after all and that it was too hot?

Called Aksarben at 8:30 am on Saturday as my AC was not working.  Now I get that it was hot and they had a lot of people so when he showed up at 7 pm on a Saturday, I understood.  At least he showed up.  The guy came back and first said you had some loose wires, then came back and said our capacitator was blown (which I suspected based on the problem) and that cost was $393 with a 5 year warranty which I took.  then he came back a third time and said our compressor wasn't working.  Now our unit is 20 years old but previous people who had done some maintenance said it was old but running fine.  so basically left without fixing but sent a sales guy over on Sunday which I was like sales on Sunday?  I had a friend come who works for a heating and air company (can't believe I forgot about him) and said our compressor was fine, we needed the $393 part but that was it.  Air is running fine.  So needless to say when the time comes to replace, I will go with someone other than Aksarben who I can trust.

Our 2001 furnace wasn't working. They told me that if I had someone come out and look they would apply the $87 charge I paid to the services done.  They didn't.  I was upset and called them.  They said they ONLY applied the diagnostic and estimate trip if they put in a NEW furnace.   I don't appreciate them not being clear.   They could have told me when they were going to replace practically all of the parts at $3000+ that they would not be applying the $87.00.  Then I could have made an informed decision and possibly called someone else.  Still don't know what the part cost them.  We got a list of parts +labor so not really clear when we got charged.   Not really happy.  Our old furnace that isn't probably energy efficient is still going after 29 years but the one he worked on was only 20.  Appliances and furnaces are not built to last anymore.   Such a shame for my kids.

~~I'll keep it short&to the point. When Mom called them to see about them doing plumbing modification that isn't/wasn't an emergency&may possibly never need either? But,as a precaution be nice too figuring be somewhere in the $3,000 range?
~~Mom called cpl days later after they left (4/29/19) w/proposal $5,250 after so called senior discount, supposedly $6000 before? And that she agreed&were scheduled to start the following Monday (5/6/19) And too trusting of strangers who're so called professionals didn't want listen to me tell her it's major BS rip-off either..? At first.
~~Thank you Yelp! Looked maybe handful of times proving to be just the ammunition needed. Calling Friday afternoon w/actual person taking message&confirming She needed cancel/postpone job for coming Monday later. Unable to afford at the moment.
~~While Mom likes&loves to read, may casually go through two books week? If she's into it it can easily be five, sometimes staying up til 4 or 5&even 6AM too. And w/no reason to get up that Monday then...Believe it was least noon/later by time she got up&can just imagine the state of things? Completely blindsiding her,to say the least. When they obviously didn't get/ignored message? If I'd shown up at 8:30 that section of sidewalk would've already been sledged&busted. That two guys were about to do 10 or 15 after 8:00? Who're irked, when I would've been too, getting set-up&ready where they didn't even have to be???
~~Though Mom/we're currently holding off for the moment. I was able to get two more estimates by the end of the following of week too or aware of the Aksarben situation. Neither one mentioned/found it necessary to bust out the sidewalk either w/one estimate of $1,700 &other $1,850!!!!

They don't give out quotes for a job over the phone for a reason, and when they do come out, for a service call fee, and give you a very pricey quote they're VERY proud of ( meaning $$$).

I had called Aksarben ARS to see if they could give me an price estimate on cleaning out the main sewer drain and they told me that they had a special going on and it would only be $89. I thought that was a good price and so I scheduled an appointment for the technician to come out. I had to take off work early because they only give 4 hour windows of when they'll arrive. When the technician came he asked me what I needed unclogged and I told him it was the main sewer line. He told me the special doesn't cover that. I asked him if he could honor the price I was quoted, since I had told them over the phone that this was for the main sewer line to begin with. He let me know they wouldn't, and then said the price for this would be $371, which is more than 4 times what I was quoted. I told him no. This was a complete waste of my time and could have been avoided easily if they had either not lied about the price or honored the price they had told me. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

The work, once performed was adequate. However, the charges were ridiculous for simply cabling a drain. You wait around for someone to come out to give you a price, and even if you do think it it's way too high, do you have more time to wait around for someone else to come out, along with some additional fees for a visit? Well, at least I don't. And on top of that, there's an environmental charge. For snaking a drain? How is that harming the environment? I wouldn't use these guys again under any circumstances, and I'll do my best to always pass on a very negative review of them to anyone I know. I had to give them 1 star because there was no lower rating to give. How they got to be best of omaha for 2015 is beyond me.

I had a service scheduled with Aksarben ARS heating and air and they did something that I didn't really think companies did anymore. BAIT and SWITCH!  They flat out lied to me. I scheduled a preventative maintenance for my a/c system because I was lead believe it was such a great deal. I had a PM scheduled with another company but the cost seemed somewhat excessive, so I thought I would shop around a little. Hence I called aksarben and I told them what I wanted and that I thought the other company was a little high. She said oh that's great because we have a special going for 69.95 which was roughly half as much as the other company. When the tech showed up ( finally) he said- I'm here to do the systems check. I said SYSTEMS CHECK? Your supposed to be doing a preventative maintenance service, which involves cleaning the outside units, checking the cooling levels, cleaning the A coil etc. He said oh no that's an extra charge. If I would've had the service done that I expected to have done with aksarben it would've been way more expensive than the company I canceled my original service with. The tech was a very nice guy and it wasn't his fault, but what a shady way of doing business. Worst experience I've ever had with with an HVAC company. Also I did talk to their office and she put me on hold for about 7 minutes, just to have her come back and say that-that service costs extra. That's all she said, no offer of any compensation of any kind, not really even a real apology. I would caution you to make sure you know what your paying for before you even think of using this company. I was very clear on what service I wanted then they tried to pull a fast one. I would never ever recommend AKSARBEN ARS. Terribly disappointed. Poor poor business practice.

Our 1992 air conditioner was on its last leg and it was time for a replacement. Andy came over and looked at our vintage unit and walked us through what needed to be done. He gave us an estimate right on the spot.

A couple of weeks later, the installation was completed by Marcus and Derrick. They wanted to see the inside and outside before starting their work. After laying tarps down on the steps to the basement, they got working on the replacement. The guys were very professional and it was much appreciated.

We will definitely use Aksarben ARS again.

Water heater went out.... They had a guy come over the same day which is cool. However these A-holes quoted us $2314.00 to swap out a 50 gallon heater.  WTF? Come to find out Home Depot uses this over priced clown show as their go to 3rd party..... you can buy a water heater for $700 from the Depot.... Total BS... Lowe's quoted a $1000 cheaper..... easy math.

I have to admit I cannot trust a company that told us we needed a new compressor and fan for our a/c which would run around $2500.00 or we could get a new a/c, when in fact we didn't. We were also told the unit was not getting enough juice and we should get an electrician out to check the breaker for the ac.  However, if we buy a new ac they would check the breaker and fix it for us. Long story short we had an electrician out who replaced the breaker and that cost us $85.00.  He told us to turn on the air because it was now getting plenty of juice.  We did and our ac has been working ever since, with no issues.  I am not sure why the tech didn't have us get an electrician out first to get the breaker fixed and then come back out and finish his check of our ac. I am assuming most people will opt to pay out $2500 for the new parts or even pay out the money for a new unit.  Luckily for us we had a trusted electrician come out first before we shelled out money.  Saved us thousands.  My suggestion would be to get a second opinion!!

Aksarben ARS came to my house for an annual tune-up. My heating system was working fine and we had good heating. When the technician was almost done, we heard a popping sound with a flash and my system was dead. Per the technician, the controller board was damaged due to that popping event. Now we are without heat. I am regretting the decision of why I did call for tune-up ! I am no electrician but I think the system was not put up well after it was opened for inspection. He said the event happened because the motor withdrew way too much power. How conveniently motor chose to do so !!  Well, it had been working fine so far unless something was messed up during the process. Technician promised he would call me tomorrow. I will update my review after that call on the following stuff: if they take the financial responsibility of fixing the controller board, not charging me a service fee again, and how fast they fix the thing.

I was referred to ARS by Home Depot. The Comfort Advisor came to my house to give me a bid on a new water heater. His quote was double that of other companies (almost $1800) who also provided quotes. Luckily, despite agreeing to the installation service, I cancelled immediately after doing more research once the Advisor left. Yuck!

OMG!  They came out to my house TWICE to fix water pouring out of the spigot that feeds my sprinkler system.  And it's STILL not fixed.  When I called today I was told they do not work on sprinkler systems!  I said, That's odd because you've already been out twice to work on it. Still no resolution.

Until this week, I was a member of the Aksarben ARS Home Service Plan, which costs around $22/month and includes annual checks of the air conditioner system, furnace and plumbing and provides a discount on parts and replacement appliances. (if you charge 20X retail, you can give a 5% reduction) Last week during the annual 'free' A/C check, the tech (who was on time, polite and professional) recommended I have them install a surge protector for $272 and a dual phase inverter capacitor for $224. After being hooked by them a year ago for a furnace repair which cost $125+ for a $3, yes $3, part, I declined. four days later my A/C quit and it was the inverter  which needed replacing. the same tech arrived and offered the same parts and pricing as before, but now with a service fee. I asked him if I could find the inverter at Home Depot or somewhere else for around $50 and his only response was that it had to be a carrier part and I wouldn't find one at Home Depot. That was a damn lie, as the part was not a Carrier branded part.

After he replaced the part, I did a simple google search for pricing. I found over a dozen places where it could be purchased at retail for between $5-19. at a minimum, this company charges 10-20 times the retail price for repair parts. I canceled my home service plan and will never again do business with Aksarben ARS. This isn't a one-time occurrence for this company. You've been warned.

I contacted Home Depot on a Saturday that I needed an HVAC contractor.  I ended up getting numerous phone calls from this company but different people and different phone numbers.  I let unknown callers go to my answering machine.   Altogether I got about a dozen calls in three days, including two shortly after 7am!  I'm retired so they woke me up both days.  I also got an email from them.  Made me crazy.  I won't do business with them because they seem so desperate.  One phone call and/or email would have been sufficient.

After a lengthy process of problems and issues getting a replacement HVAC and Water heater I thought I was done. Nooo,..the simple UV lamp in the filter system burned out and after several calls a tech came out and told me it would be $300 for a new bulb or $380 for a new lamp fixture and bulb. I finally decided to go ahead with the replacement lamp. When the tech came out he did not know what I was talking about. After inspection he said the replacement lamp quoted was not adequate for my needs and said it would be $1300. After declining the new fixture I went online and found a replacement bulb for the existing lamp for $60. I pluged it in at no cost.

Horrible! 2nd time we have tried this company. 1st time they quoted us $1700 more than another company. This time....we'll, read it for yourself.

Scheduled shower mixer, 2 caps, 3 old valves to be replaced. Scheduled it, since I had to take work off. Guy showed up toward end of 8-12 window, and looked everything over. Asked about adding in a shower pan same day or in future. Went back to his truck and called their dispatcher. Said he could only do the 2 caps, and will push the rest to a week later...A week! Not the day I took off. So he began to cap the lines of the corner tub we were removing, not down by the floor, but near the valve to turn it on-(not sure how one is supposed to remove and tub) the water line would be full of water in the way!! At this point I had not received a price quote yet either. While looking at the other valves, he said he couldn't replace them, or cap them since it wouldn't leave room for the new cabinet. I disagreed, but said he could come back when we have the new cabinet. Problem is they leak, and then he tried to leave without testing his capped line with the water on.

Soooooo- kicker is, water is off since we have leaking!!! Thanks for calling me back to resolve after I called you 3 additional times today. Worthless company! Thanks for the day off work and helping me resolve my plumbing problems. I don't typically waste my time on reviews, but I'm pretty pissed, and feel taken. Now we have to pay another guy to come out tomorrow and finish what they would not.

UPDATE: Called today, no one is trying to resolve! Totally ignore you when they screw up! No idea what my bill is?!?
