D C Annis Sewer

I called this company on a whim back in 2011 when my main sewer line backed up on a Friday evening while I was showering before my brother's wedding rehearsal, causing backup in my basement.  They were speedy and very reasonably priced.  I have also used them multiple times since to clear my main sewer line and my floor drain.  Every technician that I have had contact with has been kind, efficient, and knowledgable.

My house main sewer line was plugged. Called the 24/7 dispatcher and I had a technician out in about an hour-and-a-half. Very professional technician brought his equipment in and took care of the problem straight away. Would call again as well as recommend to family and friends.

Excellent service from this company.  The plumber I called does not snake out main sewer lines.  He did, however, recommend that I call D.C. Annis for the best job at the best price.  When I made the appointment, I was told up front what the charges would be.  Rob showed up on time and was both personable and knowledgeable.  He got right to work, solved our problem, and explained the issues clearly when he was done.  I hope I will not need to have the main snaked again, but If I do, I will call D.C. Annis.

Over the years I've had to call D C Annis many times to have sewer lines snaked at work and at home.  Jordan is the hole borer who most often stops by, I never have to wait very long and he has a positive attitude about something I would hate to do.  Today we had a rooftop drain going to the storm sewer, a long run, he was able to stop by and take care of everything efficiently.

I called DC Annis on recommendation of my local plumber who does not clean main water lines.

I set up an appointment earlier in the week for today. The service window was between 2-5. No one showed up nor called. I called at 5:15. No one at the company was there to respond. A messaging company relayed my call to someone who eventually called.
When I told him it was okay that he was behind, but that a call would be nice to say he was late, he didn't apologize or care.

He said he would call within the the hour and be at my house. An hour and a half later, I called again.

No one called back for another hour.

I left a few messages with the answering service (they were very nice!). Eventually, I said I would start Facebooking and tweeting about how BAD this business is.

A technician called back and said he could not come to my house because the owner said I was trying to destroy his business.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

Excellent service from Sean/Shaun/Shawn (however he spells his name) and he complies with state recommendations for safety during covid19. I could not gain access to my tub drain and clear it myself. He was able to remove the stopper and reattached it so it is easier for me to remove in the future. I really appreciate this and am impressed with how quickly the clog was removed from my drain. Thank's to Shaun/Shawn/Sean, I will not be standing in a growing puddle when showering!

I'm so surprised there aren't any reviews yet about this terrific business.  I've had D.C. Annis out to my house 3 or 4 times over the years and I've experienced consistently excellent service.  And when I find excellent service in a reasonably-priced, locally owned business, I want to shout their name from my rooftop.  

I live in a 90 year old house that gets tree roots in the main sewer line about every 2 or 3 years, so the line needs to be cleaned out with one of those huge commercial snake thingies.  Sewage, the smell, spinning blades--this is definitely a job to hire out.  It's messy, but a fairly straightforward job.  D. C. Annis does it for a standard charge (which they will actually tell you over the phone, which no other plumbing company will) and guarantees the work for a year.

By contrast, this last time I mistakenly called Roto Rooter, and getting their bid was a horrible experience and a complete waste of time.  They wouldn't tell me how much it would be on the phone, and when the guy arrived his price was twice what I had usually paid AND he couldn't be sure that would be the final price.  I quickly realized I had called the wrong company and couldn't kick him out of my house fast enough.  His price kept dropping as I showed him the door, which tells you how overpriced their first price was.

Thank goodness I found the little sticker with DC Annis' name on it, so I called them last night and they came out early this morning.  No extra charge for coming on a weekend, and the price they quoted me was the final price.  What a pleasure to work with!

Great friendly service!  Responded very quickly to our clogged main sewer drain emergency.  Reasonable price $200.  My plumber recommended them for the job .  told me beware some companies charge $500 $600 for same job.  Very pleased.  Recommend!

These guys totally screwed me over. They were hired to clear the main drain. They sent out a rookie who immediately got his equipment stuck, left our sewer open all evening and then was joined by a more experienced mentor the following day to show him how to get his equipment unstuck and clear the drain. I got charged over 3X the promised amount as I paid for the rookie to sit all day with his hands in his pockets and watch the more experienced guy as well as pay for the more experienced guy they sent over.

Will never use or recommend this company. I have a restaurant and was having plumbing issues with my toilets backing up. I called and the plumber shows up at 6, tells me there's nothing wrong and charges me $150. 2 hours later at 8 PM, my toilets are backed up with water coming out in various drains throughout my restaurant! I call them again to tell them of THE SAME problem.  Guy arrives at 10:30 pm, snakes a drain and tells me that solved the problem. Of course the charges me $150 plus extra drain cleaning fees AGAIN! Even though they didn't fix this problem just 2 hours ago! 3 weeks later....I'm having the SAME problem AGAIN! They do not stand by their work, double charge, and have incompetent people.

Stay away! I moved forward with John Sewer and Drains and TJK plumbing and both are great!

Have used this company for past 10 plus years for routine maintenance and major clogs, have been satisfied with results, until today, called for routine main line cleaning, Adam showed up seemed a bit arrogant but who cares if you get the job done, so he brings a smaller auger in and proceeds to get it stuck in main, took some time to undo and tells me he pulled sand out and thinks line should be shot with a camera to see what's going on, I agreed to pay an extra $185.00 and another person showed up, ran the camera and did not see anything wrong, what Luke told us was Adam did not use a large enough auger and got it hung up on roots, well seems like I was scamed to pay for camera when Adam didn't use proper equipment to start with. I will find a new company for next year, beware some of these guys get paid extra for the additional services they get you to sign up for.i will ask more questions next time and won't be so gullible, although I thought I could trust them. Bad idea.

They did an incredible amount of damage to our home on a routine shower clog, forced us to take them to court, we won the judgment 100%, and they still will not pay.  

My wife and I recently had DC Annis Sewer out to our house in South Minneapolis for a routine visit to unclog our shower drain. They sent out a super young kid on a Monday night who dragged in a old machine up our stairs and went to work on our shower. He was a 'bull in a china shop' and jammed the power snake into our drain with no apparent skill or finesse. He filled up the tub to show that the drain was unclogged and when he let the water out we heard it downstairs....he had blown through new pvc drain pipe and the water came through our ceiling destroying our new furniture, oriental rugs and hardwood floors.

The kid took no responsibility for it, still asked me to pay for the visit and told me to call his owner in the morning. The owner Bob Immerman was an arrogant businessman who took no responsibility and instead told me to take him to court because the contract they make you sign before they start any work releases them of any damage that they may do to your home.  

My wife was 9 months pregnant at the time. We were left with no choice but to take them to court to get our money back for the damage. WE OF COURSE WON IN COURT as the judge confirmed it was negligent behavior and they were at fault 100% for the damage.  

Now they wont pay the judgement. Wont return phone calls. I have to now go through the courts, get the sheriff involved to get a lien on their company.  

It is too bad because all they have to do is accept that they made a mistake, take responsibility, and pay for the damages the court determined they should pay.  But they still wont.  

Please do not use them. We have told so many contractors throughout St Paul and South Minneapolis this story and everyone is going to recommend to never use DC Annis Sewer.

Made an appt. for sewer line cleaning.  They cancelled it saying too busy that day.  Rescheduled with an agreement for a discount for the visit.  The tech. said he couldn't do the job alone and would have to get another helper.  That more than doubled the original quote.  Other services I dealt with in the past did the job with one tech.  I declined.  No discount was given for the service call as promised.  My calls about not applying the discount were brushed off and emails disregarded.

Had an emergency call for a backed up floor drain and DC Annis sent someone over within a hour. Mitch was very professional and he spent the full time frame at our place to clear out a clog in our main line. He ran, from what I saw, the snake 3 times, 2 to clear and 1 to make sure it was cleared, each time with different cutters. Needless to say, we were a happy customer in the end.

Called on Sunday 10 AM for overflow of basement drain due to presumed block of sewer main. Nick arrived a little before the appointed 3:00 and quickly went to work. He passed 130 feet of 3 types of snake drill bits without success for two hours. He recommended a second visit by a different technician knowing that sometimes a second try is the answer. At 8:00 Monday, Luke and a trainee, Garvin, arrived and the findings were discussed. It seemed likely that the blockage was due to ice caused by an uncapped clean-out 130 feet from the garage clean-out. They tried passing 130 smaller snake drill that Luke had customized. Still unsuccessful, they procured a jet-tipped hose that created a high-velocity water spray that cut through the ice blockage, much to everyone's relief. They capped my second clean-out and snaked another drain in my laundry room as drainage was slow. I was very happy with the professionalism and hard work displayed by all DC Annis employees. I also had renewed appreciation for those household amenities that we all eventually take for granted. I highly recommend DC Annis, not only for their honest hard-won efforts, but also for charging the same on Sunday as they do the rest of the week. My unsolicited advice is to check any clean-outs that you have outside in the autumn before the snow flies (as I consider myself lucky to find mine under 18 of snow) and make sure it is capped. The last thing you want is a blocked sewer main, but if it happens, call DC Annis-prompt, professional, hardworking and reasonable charges.

If I had a company like this, I would want Nick on my team. Normally when we have the main line cleaned out it is easy peasy. However that was not the case this time. The last guy who put the cover back on must have cross threaded it. After some back breaking work, Nick persuaded the cover off and was able to clean out the drains and we no longer have water backing up from the floor.
Nick you saved the day! Or in this case a Sunday night.

These guys suck! They came out to unclog the sink in the master bedroom. Said they didn't want to run a snake because it may end up in the neighbors sink. The town home next door. They left without doing anything and still charged a $90.00 service call. DO NOT CALL THESE GUYS!! RIP OFF!!

I called at 815 am, by 950 Am there were here.  By 1015 the tech was done and gone.  

They cleaned what I though was the main line, the tech said he thinks it's just the floor drain.   He cleaned it out seems to work fine

I used them again today.  Sean is the best tech!

I dropped a shower cap down my tub drain and called this company. I talked to Lisa B And she spent the longest time explaining what could be going on and how I could test it to be sure. She described upfront pricing which seemed very reasonable! I definitely will be going with them!

I had DC come out to help me with a sewer back up and they could not have been better. My true test of a company though is how they treat people that I recommend them to. I had them go to an older couple who had another company say they needed $12,000 worth of work... Matt came out and did his inspection. He cleaned to the street and recommended they put a screen on their wash machine. Who remembers their service worker person name unless they are that much better than everyone else? Great job Matt!

I had some flooding in my basement over the weekend and luckily had a neighbor who had a shop vac to help me get that water out before it hit the Carpets.. I called a friend who referred me to a plumber named Tony.. I called and Tony said I would need to go to a specialist. He then referred me to DC Annis(he said this is the only specialist he would use).

I was very pleased with the service. Kim who answered the phone was great, and the tech Garvin was very knowledgeable and friendly.

It's been a while since we needed Annis Sewer's service -- fortunately -- and it only now occurred to write a review.  These emergencies are never convenient, right?  Annis had a guy at our door within 35 minutes of our call (late night, IIRC) -- we live in Burnsville -- and he was knowledgeable, efficient, cleaned up after himself, and the price was very reasonable.  I will not hesitate to hire Annis again if the need should arise.  (knock wood)
