We were so happy that we received a recommendation from our plumber to reach to John's Sewer and Drains. We had contacted Affordable Drains who came out and could not clear the clogged kitchen drain and wanted to charge $800.00 to cut a 4x4 while in the plaster to replace a pipe. Our local plumber said the clog should be able to be cleared l. They recommended John's Sewer and Drain l. They got the clog cleared quickly for far less than $800.00 and without cutting a whole in the wall.

Great customer service, quick response time, and friendly repairman, I have past on there card and A+ recommendation along to family and friends.

Steve did such a great job with unclogging my tub. Not only was it by far the least expensive quote I got from all the drain cleaners in the area (which was a big deal since my landlord refused to pay), but he also diagnosed the problem and fixed it within 25 minutes, even offering to clean up some of the mess left by the debris in the tub. He was super friendly, honest, and helpful, which really assuaged some of my stress regarding the issue. I would recommend John's to anyone.

The sewer backed up through the washer drain pipe on a Saturday. John Sewer came in about three hours charging extra for the weekend (as they made clear when I called). Things seemed ok. It took a while to clean things up. But less than a week later the sewer backed up again. They honored the warranty but it was disappointing it was not cleared completely the first time and had to clean up the mess again.

We had a bathtub that would not drain whatsoever. Based upon a reliable source we were referred to John's Sewer. James the technician came to the unit at the beginning of the two hour appt window, he discussed and explained his diagnosis process and began to work on the issue. Within 30 minutes he had freed up the drain and the tub was draining like new. I more than highly recommend their service. And oh by the way their charge coming out and resolving the problem was beyond reasonable.

I had a clog in a drain pipe. I called John's Sewer & Drain Cleaning after 4:00 PM. They dispatched a guy and within about 2 hours he was on site. His name was Nuno and if this guy is any indication of the people that work for this company, well no wonder you get great reviews. Nuno was GREAT , pleasant, professional, explained what he was doing and offered suggestions. His appearance and equipment was clean and well presented. The vehicle was clean and in great shape. It was a pleasure and reasonable to have John's sewer & drains work on the problem. He unclogged the pipe in about 1.5 hours and made sure it was properly working . I was all set and very happy I made the call to the right place.

I manage 50-60 units in the Greater Boston area. The most aggravating part of my day is unreliable vendors (plumbers/electricians/handymen/exterminators/you name it) -- people that don't show up, don't respond, don't get the job done.... Total backup on a Sunday night where sewer drain backing up. I called and they set me up for someone to come the very next morning between 8-10 am. Right on the dot, they showed up, fixed it all up in just shy of two hours for a very reasonable price. I did not get the technicians name, but he was very informative, explaining everything, every step of the way which I greatly appreciated. He also cleaned up as best he could before leaving. John's Sewer sent over an awesome tech, Brian, who came really quickly on a Sunday when our basement was flooded with raw sewage. He dove right in, fishing around to figure out what was wrong. I didn't actually use John's Sewer, because I was worried that if the sewer pipe were damaged (it's a really old house, with a big tree that has roots that could have damaged the pipe), they couldn't offer trenchless sewer repair (Google that term if you have an old house, seriously!!!). But I loved how straight-forward and honest and helpful Brian was. I'll definitely turn to them in the future.

I've got to give a shout out for exemplary service to John's. Quick, friendly, professional service. We had a blocked drain causing issues in the downstairs bathroom. Called late on Sunday and left a message with their answering service. Scheduled early the next day. Service technician called around 8:15, arrived by 8:45 and was done with the clog by 9:30. $275 for the service which seemed fine for what was provided. I have a major issue with many trade organizations and the lack of business sense and communication. That was not the case with John's. I'd gladly call them again for any drain issue.

If I could give 10 stars I would. From the initial process getting a quote. The owner messaged me back on Yelp well after hours immediately after I requested a quote which was on Wednesday by Friday afternoon had a tech out at my house they even had availability next day! When Chad the tech arrived he was very knowledgeable and professional explained everything that he was doing and why it was done. Not only are they very responsive and professional the prices are very reasonable. If I have any further drain issues definitely will call them without hesitation. Thank you guys !

I cannot say enough good about this company. I had a clogged toilet and no plumbers in my area considered this an emergency. But because of severe medical issues, I need a working bathroom. I called John's and they came right out. They said it didn't matter if it was the middle of a weekday afternoon or 2 o'clock on a Sunday morning. If it is my emergency, it is their emergency. John's is a fantastic, knowledgeable sewer company worthy of your trust.

We found John's through our realtor's recommendation, and we're so glad we did. We'd been working with Super Service Today and thought we were being overcharged (do not recommend that company). The previous plumber had taken a video in our sewer line and run into a blockage; he said it was roots and recommended that we use a hydro-jet to clear the blockage for $1600.

John's really came through for us. They told us that hydro-jet should cost $500 (so we had been way over-quoted), but that they thought we wouldn't need it. They took a video in the line and found no roots; the problem was instead a mis-join between two adjacent sewer segments. If we had gone through with the recommendation of the other company to do the hydro-jet, not only would we have been out extra money, the hydro-jet would have likely caused a huge sink hole and unimaginable damage to our sewer system.

John's had the expertise and experience to quickly diagnose the problem and recommend a good company that could do the excavation and sewer repair.

Had a storm drain clogged in my driveway. They first came with the snake, then figured out it needs to be water jetted. So they arrange for the other technician to come and 60 min later the problem was solved.

After a tiling job in our lower floor bathroom, the shower drain was completely blocked. I thought the handyman had let grout and thinset into the drain . Tried snaking with a long wire that I have and after a foot or so, it was stopping at something hard.

I was almost certain I will need to RIP the floor and replace p trap but wanted to try a professional cleaning before that.

John's reached the next day and in 5 minutes water started flowing unobstructed !
Though I was charged $15 more than what was quoted through yelp, I am not complaining. It is STILL very fair priced compared to services I have used earlier.

My house has a storm sewer drain system that needs cleaning every few years. We had rotor router came the last couple times. The drains were fixed each time. But the frequency became closer and closer. I gave John's sewer a try. The response was quick. The call center personnel was very professional. When the technician came, he was careful and asked critical questions before he started. He was knowledgeable and very skilled at using the tools. I had a technician from another company asked me to take off my down spot before he could work on it. Thank god I did not go with that company. Ron from John's sewer is the most careful and pleasant technician. I couldn't thank him enough. Not only did he cleaned out the drains. He also assessed the situations and let me know the reason for increased cleaning frequencies were due to bad cleaning jobs. Best yet, they honored their quote at $290 a drain and half price for each addition drain. Now I feel much relieved. My house is ready for the rain storm later in the week.

Our Drain had been clogged and water started to back up. We hired someone to come out and take a look. This professional said that they could not perform the work that was required, but he recommended I call John's Sewer & Drain Cleaning. I'm so glad that he did! I requested a quote from John's Sewer & Drain on Yelp to clean a clogged bathroom sink drain. My sister had used them for another job and recommended them. Nick the technician arrived at my house and was able to snake and clean both bathroom sink drains. He was a very nice guy. If I could give this place 0 stars, I definitely would.

I can't speak to the quality of the plumbing/fixes/competence, but as someone who lives in a building that's serviced by this company, the interaction with the service person is absolutely horrible.

They come up and down the stairs aggressively banging and yelling at each unit to stop using the sink or something to that effect. They don't even wait for you to open the door or anything, but they just bang like they're about to blow your house down, yell at you through the door, and leave to the next unit. By the time you open your door, they're already screaming at someone else/have left.

It's a highly unpleasant & starling experience in any environment, but especially in the times of COVID (when you're not expecting anyone in the first place, but also when working from home and taking meetings or calls), it's very obnoxious. I get that plumbing is harder to diagnose when there are multiple units involved and you need tenants to help you by not flushing extra junk while you're working, but there are more professional ways to interact with people.

This is also not the first time our building has needed plumbing fixes and not the first time we've had someone going up and down screaming, so it's at least not a one-off occurrence.

We had a sewer-line problem in April that appeared to have been fixed, but apparently not completely. While the response time was great, and the tech did a good job, the problem re-occurred over the weekend. Bill and Chris came out yesterday and did a great follow-up job. I'm confident that we're all set.

I tend to be a hoverer when there are workers in the house, but these two guys were terrific at explaining what they were doing, and they were easy to chat with. When they were done, the work area was spotless.

Despite the hiccup with the first effort, I wouldn't consider calling anyone else if, somehow, we have another problem. I've already recommended John's to people in my office, and will continue to do so.

Angel and Lenny saved us big time when our toilet just stopped flushing at 830 on a Monday night in the middle of The COVID-19 shut down. They were extremely kind and professional and walked us through everything they had to do. We were having an issue with a drain/sewer pipe. We called John's Sewer and Pipe. They set us up with an appointment the very next day. Derek called as scheduled and arrived ahead of time. He was professional, pleasant, and most importantly thorough.
He took a video of the drains and spent extra time to check everything out.

John's sewer and drains are the best in the business! Last week we had no hot water. They came out and replaced the broken elements in the hot water tank that was only a couple of years old. Mark was concerned with loudness, like there was hot water running but all faucets were off. He came back a half hour after he left to do more research as he was concerned there was something more going on, he checked every bathroom toilet, sink and then pulled up the bathroom vent and discovered water. There had been a broken hot water pipe under the slab that was leaking and causing the hot water tank to drain. If he did not go above and beyond the way he did, this could have been a disaster. He not only fixed the water heater but he went the extra mile to find out why the elements burned out on a fairly new unit and he discovered a major potential disaster. So very thankful!!

Sent a Yelp quote request this morning and received a response within a half hour saying they could come by same day to help with a clogged bath drain in our tenant's apartment. The pipes of our kitchen and basement sinks were clogged and the water wasn't draining properly. Very professional experience. Woman who answers call was very clear on the arrival window time. Worker shows up to check out kitchen sink sewer back up, they figured it out that a portion of drain under basement floor has tree roots inside of it from next door! They will put a camera in pipe to see how much needs to be replaced.... meanwhile we are not using the disposal so backup won't occur on both floors.

They are real, and 5 star reviews are deserved. Problem: clogged main sewer, backed up drains in basement. Initial response + preliminary
quote: 15min after initial contact. At my house: 40min after I commit. Job itself done neatly, everything is explained, price is fair (for the Boston area ), the plumber is a nice guy and - good sign - loves working for the company. This is a serious improvement from my numerous encounters with many other shops around the area. Have no doubts.

I chose John's due to their high ratings and rave reviews on Yelp. The recommendation did not disappoint. We needed a section of a sewer drain pipe removed and replaced. They were quick, conscientious, and tidy. They also went above and beyond by laying cement over the hole in the basement and filled another hole with gravel (rat proofing), which they did not have to do. The price seemed appropriate for the job, but I did not shop around due to the great ratings. I would absolutely recommend this company.

I was working with Roto-Rooter on a sewer backup for my condo building. They were charging insane prices and I had to call all sorts of different people at their company to work everything out. After my 3rd sewer backup in 2 weeks, I was done.

I saw the reviews on Yelp for John's Sewer, Chris came over to give me an estimate last week (much lower than Roto-Rooter, and he provided a lot of helpful information), and then he came over today to replace our drain trap. He was super helpful (and the opposite of RR)! I should have done more research when this first happened and I'm sure the nightmare would have been over much sooner.

If I ever need anything related to sewer or pipe cleaning in the future, John's Sewer will be my first call (but let's hope that doesn't happen).

My bath tub was slow to drain. I finally got around to calling for help and contacted Roto-Rooter. They would not provide a quote but obliged my preferred schedule so I accepted the date offered. When the tech arrived he took one look at the tub and said it would cost $610!!! I thanked him and said no thanks! Went on line and searched via Yelp, using the 'get a quote' tool. I listed what I needed done and provided my email. Within a half hour I got a quote from John's Sewer and Drain Cleaning that said it would cost $160 and they could come in the morning, which was my requested time. Lou, a wonderful tech, and fine person overall, came to my home, was properly masked and quickly attended to the tub. He had the drain cleared within 10 minutes. He was friendly, informative and had a good sense of humor too! I'm glad I found John's Sewer & Drain Cleaning and I highly recommend their services. Thanks Lou!

Great company. Called on Sunday morning as the main sewer line was blocked and less than two hours later Santo had it fixed. He also explained some day to day preventative upkeep that should solve the problem.

I called maybe 4-5 places and Santo had it fixed even before all but one called me back. Bummer to need an emergency plumber on a Sunday morning but John's Sewer/Santo made the best of a bad situation.

Had a 2 foot sewage back up in my downstairs bathroom tub.
Called John's at 1:45. We were advised it would be a few hours.
At 4:00 Angel called and advised us he was 5 minutes away.
We told him our problem, he assessed the situation. And came up with two solutions. The first one didn't work so he went to plan B. Using the trap outside the house the snaked a line a couple of times and the clog was cleared. Angel was very professional and took pride in doing his job.
He gave us clue on possible was to prevent clogs. One was no dental floss in the toilet or flushable baby wipes.
90 day warranty for work is fair.
I would use John,s Sewer again.

Had a great experience with these guys. Called at noon because our pipes backed up and CASCADED water into our basement and they showed up by 2:30. TJ was awesome. Earlier this month I used Budge It Drains to fix a clogged pipe issue that caused our kitchen sink to flood. About three weeks later the same exact thing occurred, so this time I used John's Sewer & Pipe Cleaning. A very friendly and help rep answered the phone and within a few hours someone was here to fix the issue. They also explained that the previous plumber did fix one clog, but that there was one much further down the line that they didn't get to. They also have a 90 day warranty which the other company did not provide and they charged less. Highly recommend!

I cannot give a more glowing review and recommendation for John's Sewer & Drain. The evening we brought our newborn from the hospital, I noticed there was greywater backing up in to our basement level sink. Every time I used the kitchen sink, the water would rise more and more in the sink. I was unable to plunge it, so i began to contact several local plumbers for emergency assistance. This was wild -- they did not return my requests / calls...one local plumber even responded saying they could come out to fix the issue in 8 days.
I then came across John's Sewer & Drain -- the reviews on here are so accurate! I sent an email at 10:00pm; Scott emailed me back right away saying he will send someone out first thing in the morning.
Promptly at 9:00am, George arrived to help us out! With the pandemic and having a newborn home, he took extra precautions to help us out and be efficient. George quickly assessed the issue and was able to snake our drain line from the kitchen through the main. He helped identify the source of the issue and was incredibly friendly.

I cannot stress enough how impressed I am with this company and their attention to customer service. If you need help, John's is the best!

Another sewer company canceled at the last minute. We'd just moved into the house, and had experienced water gushing out of our wall and sewer pipe (yep, sewage. gross.) My pipes were open and I needed a drain pro to finish the job (locate the source of that clog).

I was probably a little frantic when I called them. David, the technician, not only came a few hours later, he worked with my plumber who was also there replacing decades old cast iron pipe. He was professional and friendly, and the overall service was transparent and affordable. I liked the fact that I quickly explained what I needed on the phone and was given an estimate, unlike some others I called who were either speaking plumbing mumbo jumbo or just refused to give an estimate. It took a while to locate the clog, but the problem turned out to a big wad of roots in the sewer pipe outside the house on my property. No way that would have been discovered during the home inspection, but now I have peace of mind on how to deal with everything moving forward because David took the time to snake, offer a diagnosis and get rid of the roots.

John's staff were customer friendly, came across as trustworthy--some of these companies just seem to want to charge the world when you're having an emergency. I'll hire them again if I have a need, and would recommend them to all my friends/neighbors/colleagues (and anyone else who'd listen). Thanks so much for helping us get comfortable and settled into our new home.

Weekend emergency! Clogged drain. OMG. So we called John's S&P and Greg came over. He stayed well into night gushing all the drains and even removed toilet to snake it. He left NO stone unturned.

Greg also was thoughtful in that he carried his mini- snake machine around the outside back stairs vs through the house!

One of his service guys came out and evaluated the problem for free (the water pressure was low but just got stuck?) and since no repair was needed, there was no charge. I contacted many other companies and John's is the only around my area that would give a free estimate.

I have used John's several times to have my main line cleaned due to the pipe runs under trees and it's not uncommon to have roots find their way into the pipe. The service has always been good and their reasonable pricing is quoted over the phone - no need to pay for a visit in order to get a quote.

Recently, I called them for a visit and a man named Angel came to my house. Angel was personable, professional and very knowledgeable. He took the time to carefully evaluate my problem and was not in a rush to complete the job. He was insistent to get the job done right. He even had me drop a tablet in the toilet, flush it while he uncovered the manhole cover to check if things were flowing properly. No one has ever taken the time he did to make sure the job was completed properly. If I could, I'd give Angel a separate 5 star raring for his work ethic. I will continue to use John's and I will make sure to ask for Angel from now on.

Excellent, flawless experience from start to finish. We had a kitchen sink that suddenly started to drain slowly. Scott replied to us on Yelp in TWO minutes and was able to immediately schedule an appointment with us that fit our busy schedule (he also even had someone available within the hour if it was an emergency). Angel, the plumber, arrived 10 minutes early for our appointment and wore a mask and gloves the entire visit. These guys are terrific. Needed a video of our sewer drain after receiving a quote for a complete replacement from a less-than-desirable competitor. John's sent a tech out the same day. He took his time, got very good video of the entire 86' of our sewer line out to the city main, and provided us a copy on a USB stick. He made no mess, and was a pleasure to work with. Cost for the video was $325. You really need to do this if you are having drain problems, since there is no other way to really know what is going on in the pipe except through a CCTV video.

Called them for a sewer line leaving a single family home which had already been snaked by a local plumbing company, they responded in approximately one hour. The truck was clean, organized and professional looking. Good sign. Nick was very professional. Discussed the issue with me. Proceeded to inspect the line with a camera which was what I called them to do. Diagnosed the problem quickly. Line was damaged due to roots and maybe age. Marked out the lawn so my contractor knew where to dig. The cost was the same as if I had rented the camera and located and did the exploratory work myself. I very rarely write a review but this company exceeded my expectations. I hope it's a long time before I need their service again but if I do, they will definitely get a call from me again.

Here it is Super Bowl Sunday, and we have a back up such that we had water leaking in basement and we had to turn off the water. Our usual plumber couldn't do the job, but recommended John's. My washing machine was backing up into the basement. My plumber; Corey Catalfamo, who'll be my next review, highly recommended John's. When Corey found the main from my basement drain to the driveway clear, he said this was the next call to make. Their answering services said they'd be onsite in 2 hours and they were, in fact it was faster than that. To top this off, it was a Saturday when I've had past services say 2 hours, and either end up being a no-show, or come 5 hours later. Tom was the rep we got and he had the problem resolved in under an hour. What a fantastic personality and very professional. He explained to us that tree roots from the Conservation Land we abut grew through the seams and had blocked the main pipe (still clay) running under our driveway to the street. With a long snake that had a sharp saw attached to the other end he was able to unblock it. We were informed that had we waited even just a few more days, the bathrooms would have been backing up next. Tom also suggested when we do over the driveway to add a drain for easier access in the future. Then when it came time to write the check, I almost fell over. VERY reasonable at under $300.00 for an emergency Saturday call. Amazing attention to detail and quality service!

If Yelp had a 10 scale, John's Sewer & Pipe Cleaning would get a 20 from me. First, Andrew in the main office responded to my email within 30 minutes and followed up with me within an hour. I emailed and called three other fairly local companies, two others responded within two hours with email, one with a call. Next, Andrew offered the clearest explanation of solutions, the fastest service, and the most reasonable price. I accepted the service and the service man arrived at my single family home in Medford, MA on the time, having called me 60 minutes before the appointment. I believe his name was Frank, but my memory fades quickly these days. More importantly, he was very polite and knowledgable. He was well informed by Andrew about my needs. He explained how he would proceed, attended to the issue, cleaned up thoroughly, and answered all my questions clearly. I contacted John's due to an emergency drainage issue, after trying a few local plumbers, none of them could schedule a same day service. When I contacted John's , they sent a service professional over within 3 hours, and fixed the problems very professionally. I am actually shocked at how effective and responsive this organization seems to be.
Sunday 3 pm, brother is in town visiting. Sewer line has a backup between the house and the street. We all have to go to work the next day, blizzard coming the day after. I'm thinking there is no way to get someone in here today, on a Sunday afternoon. Wrong!. My phone call was answered within 5 minutes on Sunday and had a tech in the house less than an hour later. By 6 pm this problem was behind me and the bill was surprisingly low. The tech was the friendliest and most positive guy ever. He knew his stuff. Great service, guy name Alex came by an inconvenient time around 12 at night . My family had just gotten off 13 hr shift and it was a real emergency as they were tired and frustrated the couldn't use the water to shower. He said he would take an hr but came pretty quickly about maybe 30-40 min. Checked the line and worked backwards and the clog was right at the septic. Fixed it literally in 2 minutes. Great guy knows his sh!t so must be a great company. I highly recommend. Last plummer I had took about a few hrs on the same problem awhile ago charged us 700 during the day! OK so these guys are amazing! We had an emergency today at our new place in the South End, Boston. Lou Cafarelli responded within two hours of my call. He diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in short order. He recommended a scope/camera check on our pipes and located an even more important issue at the street level where a city pipe is broken! We can now take his video footage from this procedure and get the City to fix it...Lou was like a surgeon with this camera!!! I had John's come out when our downstairs bathroom threw a sh*t fit and overflowed all over the floor. We had a clog in the main drain to the septic tank and we needed help fast. Everything was backing up into the downstairs bathroom so we couldn't use water at all. Sean from John's came out within 1 1/2 hours of my initial call to the office (which was handled promptly and by a live, actual employee and not a call center).

Sean was great. I showed him the sh*t show in the bathroom and he immediately got to work digging up the septic tank. He opened it up, diagnosed the issue as a massive grease clog and he snaked the line from the outside so that no (further) mess was made inside my house.

I had visions of septic tank replacement, yard excavation and thousands of dollars down the drain (literally). But within 3hrs of my initial call, the water in my house was draining normally again and all for under 200 bucks and a small hole dug in my back yard.

I would absolutely recommend John's when you're ankles deep.

At 10:10 a.m. Alex arrived and started snaking the drain which turned out to be quite difficult. It had to be snaked numerous times until the water flowed freely! As far as I was concerned, it was extremely frustrating, but Alex had an upbeat attitude and did a fantastic job. He cleaned the bathroom and left it sparkling clean just as he had found it. I HIGHLY recommend John's Sewer and Pipe Cleaning and Alex!! A job well done...

Quick response and excellent work. I submitted a request on yelp and Scott responded within the hour. Quote was reasonable and they were able to send someone out the next morning to take a look at a pooling area drain. George was sent out and was able to snake through the drain multiple times and wet vac the area. Very professional and kept trying to tackle the issue differently even though it wasn't apparent what was the problem at first. Highly recommend George. They accept cash, check, or credit.

Woke up to a sewer problem on a Saturday. Called and the Technician was there in under 90 minutes. He was knowlegable and took care of the issue quickly. He took the time to explain the problem and offered some preventive tips. Highly recommend!!!!

Called these guys on Friday to have my laundry drain snaked out. I requested a quote through Yelp due to their great reviews. Scott responded in less than 10 minutes with a quote for for $219.00 dollars which I felt was reasonable. They said they could be out in the afternoon which I thought was amazing. Alex showed up at our house right around the estimated time. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable and was in and out in less than an hour with no mess left behind. Initially I was not very clear with my instructions when I requested my quote due to my ignorance with plumbing. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the job was only $149.00 which I was very happy with. Going forward, we will definitely be using John's Sewer & Pipe Cleaning for our annual clean out!! My husband usually does this job every year and he hates it, he is so happy he won't have to do this anymore! Thank you to your company for making this such an easy pleasant experience! I would highly recommend using this company!!
