We woke up to active water flowing in our basement. After a quick shut-off and amateur diagnosis, we determined we needed an expert to look into our problem. I called Mr Robo Rooter and a tech arrived within half an hour, agreed our pipes needed to be flushed and found the quickest place to do his business. After a short time, he said he was complete but continued to check our plumbing system to ensure he was correct. Randy was polite, courteous, friendly, personable, and professional. I understand the cost being so high but, it would've been higher if we'd waited or there was more damage.
I have never left a negative review to public view however do not use this company. Techs are amazing, owners are terrible. I had a water line replaced it needed an inspection - the tech called and city said they would be be in the field until 7p however when he called they said they would not be out - left me with no water Fri-Sun. Tech arrived Monday to get inspection - city arrived at 11a we didn't pass, owner said code changed he wasn't informed. Tech changed line to copper called city out- passed but the line had a kink so the gents had to find the kink, but it and run new line. Water was on at 3p Monday. Clean up took until 7p. The job was quoted as 1 day. 22 hours later the job was complete with 3.5 days left of no water. I paid $7300 I asked for some compensation owner said he lost money and wouldn't give me any compensation but would lay seed where he dug the water main up.....at no cost. These owners don't care about their customers only bottom line. Spend your money elsewhere!!

Our shower and toilets were draining very slow so I had Mr. Rooter come out to snake the sewer system and clear out any tree roots in the sewer line. The guy was nice, professional and on time. He was doing ok until the snake cable got stuck and wouldn't go forward or backwards. Then the cable broke with about a foot sticking out of the hole where the toilet was. They made arrangements to come back a few days later to dig up a spot in my front yard where they believed they could get to the end of the cable. Since they were doing this at their own expense, I would have given them five stars for going above and beyond. They dug up a good sized hole in my front yard but missed the end of the cable by about five feet. They replaced about six feet of clay sewer pipe but were not able to hook on to the cable and drag it out. Instead of digging a little farther to get to the cable, they decided to just close up the hole and try to pull the cable out from the inside.
They came back a few days later and were not able to pull the cable out. They said they'd come back and dig again, for $3,700. I reminded them it was their cable that broke off and was stuck in my sewer and it was their responsibility to get it out. They refused unless I paid. Overall, I paid the original $450 to have the pipes snaked, but ended up with a cable stuck in my pipes and the water flowing worse then it was before they came out. One star because they didn't finish the job I paid them for and because they abandoned me after their cable was stuck in my sewer line.
I had another company come out and dig up the section they didn't do. The cable was right there and they pulled it out with no problem. It's all good now. I wanted to take the rusty, crap-encrusted cable and drop it off in their parking lot, but my wife wouldn't let me.

I can't say enough about how helpful Mr. Rooter plumbing was. After a misdiagnosis from another company, I called Mr. Rooter and they sent a tech out within a short time. Randy the tech proved to be invaluable as he quickly diagnosed the problem, a separated and broken sewer line in our crawl space. Within a few hours our main sewer line was repaired and cleaned up so we were able to have a livable home again. All this quick and great service came at a very reasonable cost to boot! Thank you Randy and the helpful folks at Mr. Rooter.
Had them come out to install a sink they quoted 596 dollar . They seems excessively expensive compared to other plumbers

Paid 350 dollars to get a sewer line cleaned out and toilets started backing up the next day and they wanted another 350 dollars to come back out, no WARRANTY.
This company charged us $400 to have our main drain cleaned, it took the man a total of 5 minutes. $400! Absolutely ridiculous, and in our opinion, gouging. We will never call again and will not recommend to anyone.
Only ONE STAR because you cannot select ZERO STARS! Our job was to have a kitchen faucet reconnected after having new countertops installed, and reconnect the garbage disposal. Their plumber was in the kitchen for 45 minutes huffing & puffing and reading through manuals, and cursing under his breath in frustration. I honestly don't think he knew much, if anything at all about plumbing! After going in and asking, Hey, how is it coming along? He answered with we would need a new faucet, because some kind of ring was missing. He also could not get the sink baskets off of the old sink so we needed to go buy new ones of those too. Absolutely NO supplies on his truck, knowing what the job he was coming to do. After leaving with no connections, this guy TOOK THE OLD SINK. I had to call to have them track him down and bring it back!!! I personally took the faucet off of the old sink and every single part was laid out for this guy. I give people the benefit of the doubt, but when he doesn't know how to solve the problem, AND has an appearance of just being released from jail, with cheap prison tattoos all over him, I don't want to do business with companies who represent themselves like this. There are plenty of reputable companies who are professional out there-Avoid Mr Rooter, and lock the doors!

We called Mr Rooter because our water wasn't draining properly and a neighbor said that we needed a new grinder/sewage pump. We told them that we needed a 2 HP pump and they said ok but we had to pay half of the $2350 bill first. Unfortunately we were too trusting by paying the full bill instead. A guy came out with an industrial/commercial pump instead of residential. The plumber worked a full day trying to install it although it was obviously wrong because wiring was different. He finally gave up and called 3 other guys who came to help him for another few hrs. Finally the guy said he needed his supervisor to come because he was good with electronics. The next evening the supervisor came to tell us the store they bought it from had made the mistake but they could make it work with a $2500 control box! When he was told absolutely not he said there was nothing else they could do. I asked why they couldn't bring correct pump and he said something about pressure problems. The next night they came and took their pump back and gave us a receipt explaining they were taking pump back and we would receive a refund within 7 days. That was 5 weeks ago and they still have not done so. We have called multiple times only to be promised a call back from the business manager with no response. Last week my husband threatened to drive over to their office so the manager took his call. Manager said that we would only get a partial refund because my husband asked for that pump. My husband reiterated that he gave specifications but did not ask for a commercial pump. The call ended with my husband losing his temper and telling him he would see him in court and manager said ok. I called the next day but got after hours girl who said she had heard about our dispute and my husband was wrong about the refund, that the business manager was drafting a letter and calculating what we are due. I told her I agree to paying s service charge and 1 hr of labor at the most because the plumber should not have needed 8 hrs to know that he had wrong pump (besides it was labeled on box). She said we would receive a call back but as usual we did not. How can we be charged for a pump we don't even have and for service that didn't even get completed?
What do we do now?

The technician they sent was very young paints around his knees had no clue what he was doing when he left he took off like a bat out of hell leaving a 20' tire mark in front of my home wile children were out I call the office to let them know what was going on the general manager called me back he was very rude yelling and cussing at me not the type of company I would ever want to business with
Called this company last tear to repair a slab leak. Thought they had fixed it but now I have another slab leak. Our 1 year warranty was now expired at 1 year and 1 month so had to call a different company to fix. They drilled through the concrete and repaired the same pipe that mr rooter supposedly fixed. Current plumber said it wasn't soldered all the way around so we've probably had this leak since they left but now it was just a bigger leak. Current plumber said his company would have honored their warranty if it was 1 year, and one month. I'll never call mr rooter again
Here's my story. Feel free to draw your own conclusions. A new hot water heater was installed by Mr. Rooter's plumbing. Soon after I had to evacuate and have the fire department come in because of gas leak. Mr. Rooter's came back late that night to fix their gas connection to the hot water heater and check everything out. The following morning after a shower I entered my kitchen ( next to the laundry room with the hot water heater) to find water rushing out. Luckily I'm smart enough to figure out how to turn off the water because it took Mr. Rooter's 6 hours to come check it. Of course they claimed it was not their fault and the water had just picked that morning to come pouring out 25 feet from the hot water heater. A missed day of work and calling every other day for two weeks was not concerning enough for them to return my call.
I finally had to say I was going to contact a lawyer if I did not hear back from them in 24 hours. That's when I got this lovely voicemail which is still saved to my phone. There is no evidence that my guys caused this damage. There has been so many people in and out of there that you can't say we're the ones responsible. btw no one from 12pm to 6 am was in and out of there after they fixed the problem.
Oh they also would like to come out and put in the drain pan for compensation. The one that should have been installed the first time and costs a whole $10. After much consideration all I asked for was a day of wages for the personal day I had to take. I'm a teacher we all know that wasn't much to ask.
Awesome customer service! They called ahead and kept me informed on when they would be at my home, not only when they were coming to do estimate but also when they were coming to do the
work. They gave me an estimate which was well within my budget and reasonably priced for the work performed (main sewer line leak) and they have a flat rate,..the workers were courteous and the work was done promptly...I would highly recommend
I've had two bad experiences with Mr Rooter. The first was when I had a running toilet. Fortunately this job was completed (after two visits and 5+ hours of working on it). It seemed like they didn't know what they were doing, but I didn't know enough to know whether or not that was the case. When I got the quote I told him that was a lot more than I had expected and the plumbers response was we're not known for our low prices. Seemed very unprofessional...
The second experience was even worse and why I'm writing this review. I had a pipe burst back in November, connected to a hose outside (my bad, the hose shouldn't have been connected). Mr Rooter was there within an hour and fixed the pipe. Two months later, the same pipe burst again. Unfortunately I wasn't home this time and the water ran for 10+ hours. And unfortunately all the feedback I'm getting is this is a result of a very unprofessional plumbing job. After getting opinions from other plumbers in the area, they said the work done was unprofessional - the wrong type of pipe was used, there wasn't proper insulation around the pipe and Mr Rooter never filled the area in around the hose spicit allowing cold air to get around the pipe.
The bill in November with Mr Rooter was $500. The bill to get it fixed the second time, by another plumber, who used the correct pipe and did a professional job - $275. Not only did Mr Rooter do a poor job, but was nearly twice as expensive. I now have a house that has extensive water damage which is taking weeks to dry and will take months to repair.
I had them install a water heater recently. Overall I'm pretty pleased with their work. I think the price was a little high but it was an agreed upon pricing through a Big Box store - so I'm not sure how much of it was Rooter's take vs. the Big Box Store. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them for another plumbing job based upon their recent work. Employees were friendly.
We manage 50 rental properties and have been in business about 28 years. During July this year (2017) we had 3 of rain in one day. A basement at a house had about 5 of water in it from the storm sewers backing up the drains. I called Mr. Rooter and explained the whole scenario and that the cleanout was in the basement and we needed it cleaned out. Their technician showed up at the house the next day and said I can't go in the basement because it has water in it. He then stated that he can't service us in any way until the water is out of the basement. I called back the receptionist (and they say they record all conversations) and we agreed that there would be no charge for them coming out......but to call them back when we have the water out of the basement and they can help us then (Hello? Does anyone see the irony in this?). I called another plumber that wasn't afraid of getting his shoes wet and he cleared the lines no problem. I never heard from Mr. Rooter since then (July 12th, 2017). Then, on August 15th, 2017, out of the nowhere......they charged my credit card for $59.00. I have called them twice about this, each time them telling me the almighty person would be calling me back to correct this......no calls. I have since called my credit card company to tell them not to pay this corrupt business.
STAY AWAY. THIS PLACE IS A RIP-OFF. I am not impressed with this place. Let me describe my experience. I own a home in Indianapolis and my tenant rents from me and called this place for a backed-up sink/ garbage disposal. The technician called me on my cell to tell me the copper is worn out (bs) and the pipe was sloping the wrong direction (also bs). The house was built in the 50s and I lived in it for 8 yrs and the pipe always sloped the right direction to drain, but on this day, it didn't.
I'm several states away and had no choice, but to let them do the work as this was about 2 days before Christmas and my tenant would not have been happy with a backed-up sink. They assured me they do not charge more because it's the holidays. Come to find out, they overcharge all the time. I had no choice. It was $1100 and I paid by credit card over the phone. Two weeks later, I still hadn't received my receipt. The manager, who is very friendly, attempted to email it and fax it and on my 3rd call back to them, I finally received it. Already feeling taken, the bill confirmed my thought. The $1000 was to replace up to 5 feet of drain line and they stuck a 3 yr membership plan on their as well that was never explained to me. I GUESS THEIR GOING RATE IS ABOUT $220 PER FOOT OF PLUMBING. I called the manager back (again she's friendly and I know this isn't her fault, but really not helpful) to voice my thoughts. She was sympathetic and seemed like she wanted to make it right and promised to call back in a day or so. That was approximately 2 weeks ago. I will never use this place if they are the last plumber in Indy.

absolutely do not use this company! The minimum charge for any service call will be $460, even if the part is only 19 cents and the maximum labor time is 20 minutes. the service technicians with this company are rude, unprofessional and unethical! Avoid this business at all costs

What a Joke - Called with an emergency plumbing situation. They informed me that someone would be out within an hour. 90 minutes later we receive a call stating that someone would be out within an hour. The customer care person did not give an explanation why they could not get out when the original timeframe was set. I hop onto their website and see I can live-chat with one of their representatives. I explain our situation and he is very apologetic. He asks me for my phone number and e-mail address and that he would be forwarding this onto corporate (whatever that means), and then asked if he could help me with anything else. I responded: you did not help me in the first place other than to pass me onto the next guy. They have now caused me to take a half day off from work and possibly more depending on their schedule I would not recommend them because nobody will take responsibility for answering a question.!!!!.
