I've been using Welter Plumbing for about 20-years and they never disappoint. I spoke with Dan Welter on the phone and explained my issue. He knew exactly what I was referring to. I was expecting some pipes needing replacement but he suggested it might be simpler than that. We scheduled an appointment for a few days later.

Jesus and Tony arrived and reviewed the issue with me. They explained my options and what to expect. They were professional, polite, hard working, and nice guys. They fixed my issue quickly and made sure the repair was right before they left. I am happy to leave an updated review for them.

Welter has been unfailingly professional, whether they're fixing a drain or helping with the continued fallout from shoddy work by others on the basement plumbing. They're knowledgeable and respectful of the home every time they stop by.

After an experience with self-styled sump pump repairmen who belong in small claims court, dealing with Welter has been a tremendous relief. I haven't found them to be condescending, rude or pushy at all.

Have used them quite a few times and have been very pleased. They are competent and great follow through. Each plumber has been a good communicator and did a thorough job each time.

Rarely these days do you come across truly remarkable people in business who do the right thing for the customer, it is usually the opposite.  When I talked to Dan last week, I was truly impressed.

As a shade tree mechanic, I have fixed most things over the past 50 years. I had a leak in the shower that I tried to fix it and I could not stop the leak. I gave up and decided to call a professional to come fix it.

After calling Welter Plumbing, Dan asked us to send a few photos of the problem.  He called back a few minutes later and we talked briefly.  He gave me fantastic advice over the phone.  15 minutes later, I fixed the leak.

I am truly grateful for saving me hundreds of dollars on a service call and would highly encourage to reach out to Welter Plumbing for ALL your plumbing needs.

Welter plumbing replaced our 27 year old 75 gallon water heater, replaced the main shut off valve for the house water supply, and installed a new non-freeze exterior spigot including running new copper water supply lines for it. The whole experience was excellent. The cost estimate was cheaper than the 2 of their local competitors who also have a great reputation. Welter did a great job, and I will definitely work with them again. Dan Welter, the estimator, and Jesus, the on site plumber, were both great. High quality guys that you can trust.

We had kind of an emergency with the sudden onset of a plugged sewer line. Probably my fault for not taking care of regular maintenance but, regardless, I called and they were able to send someone within a half hour. The line hadn't been rodded for several years but they were able to get the line open and flowing. Not an easy job but done as quickly and efficiently as possible.  Needless to say, I was expecting the worst when the bill was totaled but discovered it was reasonable, especially given the short notice on the job.

Can't say enough about this team! We left a voice mail after hours and got a call the next morning at 6:40am. Thankfully they had a cancellation, arrived by 7:20 and we had a new pit pump and switch within an hour. Friendly, knowledgeable and so responsive. You guys always come through - thank you!!

What can I say about Welter Plumbing other than they are the best! Dylan and Reco came out and were kind, courteous, knowledgeable and so helpful. They listened to my problems and concerns and made very quick work of the problem.  Welter Plumbing are incredible

Excellent service, quick response, very helpful information and transparency of costs (and nice people). Highly recommend this company for excellence in every respect! A pipe slowly leaking water coming from the city (that was behind paneling) in my basement has been repaired; a new Chicago Faucets faucet replaced the leaking, unrepairable one at my laundry tubs; replacement of all piping under my kitchen double sinks (loose connections, had leaked in the past). Also, one sink strainer basket was found to be leaking. Welter came out another day with the part in the finish I needed. Well worth the cost and peace of mind knowing Welter has taken care of all my plumbing issues.

Frankly you need 6 stars for these folks. From the very helpful person on the phone to the service folks themselves. I couldn't have been happier. James was beyond what you could ask for, just the nicest person on top of taking care of our issue.  Thank you for prompt (serviced next day) and excellent service.

They are awesome!! I had to use them 3 times over the course of 7 years.  As a first-time home owner, I had a minor plumbing issue.  They were honest (said they didn't want me to pay $$) and patiently walked me through on the phone so I could do it myself.  The second time, they came to my house. They were professional and fairly priced.  The third time was when I was selling my home.  The inspector's report asked for a missing valve per code.  The buyer wanted credit.  I called Welter Plumbing and Eric explained to me that the valve is not necessary in our house (given the type of plumbing system we have) and not a violation of code.  He sent me a letter/documentation  to provide to the buyer the same day. It's been so wonderful to have discovered Welter Plumbing.  I hope they cover Glenview too.

I had to use them for my mothers leaking shower. They were very accommodating to the time frame that we had because she lives in a condo and the association would only allow the water to be shut off for 2 hours. They arrived on time, were very nice and professional.
The only down side was the price which was $350 for about 30 minutes of work. In fairness I've never had to hire a plumber before so this may be an average price for the services the rendered. I would definitely hire them again.

My experience with Welter began with the fact that two people I work with independently recommended them. Next: When I called, I talked to a real human, as opposed to having to wander through a voicemail maze while being forced to listen to elevator music and enthusiastic ads.

We had a long list of plumbing jobs--from ordinary tasks like slow drains to complicated ones like installing a Toto Washlet--that needed to be done. Ryan--who was a pleasure to work with--and an assistant (I'm bummed that I don't remember his name because he was great) got them all done and found a few issues we had forgotten about.

They were friendly, explained everything, and answered questions. It has been a week since they've been here and there have been no unpleasant surprises. Everything works as it should.

I will definitely be calling back the next time I need plumbing work done in my house.

This is the second time I've used Welter Plumbing and I must say that they are the best. They're super quick, nice, clean, and affordable.

Love these guys.  Basement backing up. They made an emergency call.  Worked late.  Then came back in the morning to put an external access point in. Pulled permits and everything. Good pricing. Cheaper than their quote. We had the roots grow back in 3 months. They came back and rodded the out at no cost. These guys are it from here on out.

Great job replacing the cartridge in my shower to rectify water temp change. Also ran to the store to get me a proper knob which was contributing to the problem. The other two companies I called were going to charge me extra to identify the type of faucet I had (because there was no inscription). The woman on the phone had me text a photo to one of the plumbers on staff. Total cost: $275. Smart company you can trust. Go with these folks.

I called Welter plumbing to set up an appointment for them to come out and give me an estimate on a backup battery powered sump pump replacement. Given the current system's age, 10+ years, I wasn't sure if it would be prudent to have it repaired or if I should have it replaced. Once the plumber learned that my current backup was a high quality system, trusty warns, he encouraged me to contact the company to see it if it was under warranty and, therefore, worth repairing & keeping. After a few minor adjustments I found out my old system was still good and no replacement was needed. Because of Welter plumbing's counsel I was able to have an operational backup sump pump without it costing me a dollar. When I was considering buying a replacement backup sump pump, from an online supply house, they gave me sound professional advice on which model to purchase from the zoeller company. This is a good,honest business that will assist you even when they don't stand to profit by doing so. I will highly recommend this genuine company to my friends and neighbors when they are in need of plumbing services.

Eric and Victor were here today and we can't even begin to say how happy we are . We actually had two other  plumbers out in the past 6 months and Eric is the one who did things correctly and solved all our problems and made complete sense . He told us things and found things for us that the other two companies didn't even think about.  These guys are definitely our new plumbers from now on and we are just thrilled .The price was awesome too.  Our neighbors recommended them to us and others in our neighborhood are using them and it's clear why . We purchased this new home in November and we had so many plumbing issues and concerns . Eric and Victor did camera work and actually got out to the main line, inspected and worked on our catch basin, found where kitchen piping leads , implemented ideas about  how to make sure certain piping was what they thought it was , inspected our ejector pit , gave us advice on bathroom issues we were having , FOUND our flood conTrol system that nobody else cared enough to find nor could find , went down into it , explained our old system to us and recommended what type of electrical we needed to make sure our pumps stay working and told us how to maintain our systems  , told us about the different systems our neighbors have and why they are the way they are , I could go on and on . But suffice to stop here and say I cant tell you how relieved we are to finally on our 3rd try find this company and these men.  They also are very kind and caring and love what they do. It was obvious . Epic crew and company ! Thank you Eric and Victor.

Our kitchen drain pipe behind a wall cracked and leaked into our basement.  On 6/22 Jesus and Johnny came, they had to pull the dishwasher away from the wall, cut into the wall and cut out the broken pipe. The new pipe was installed in 2 hours, afterwards the guys cleaned and vacuumed the work area.  The guys were knowledgeable and friendly. We are happy with Welter's service and price point. We've been using Welter for over 25 years.

I have nothing but good things to say about the guys at Welter. They came out right away and diagnosed the problem. Even though they were unable to do all the work on the spot, they did do a temporary fix for me and set the appointment to come back. Another company was suggesting a very expensive solution, but Welter told me it was not necessary saving me thousands of dollars.

I moved into a new house a month ago and the previous owners had advised it was good practice to  have the main line rodded every 1-2 years. There is a big tree in the backyard with some deep roots so I called a few plumbers in the area for quotes. Weller plumbing had a very competitive rate and based on other reviews I gave them a shot. On the phone they quoted me the price for an hour and if it goes more it's $50 every 15 min which got me nervous hearing that. Jesus and Daniel, the techs, arrived on time the day scheduled and completed the job under an hour and even put a cover on my sump pit for next to nothing. I will definitely continue to use these guys for my future needs as I appreciate honesty and good work. They were very nice and did a good job within the price originally quoted...that's all you can ask from a plumber!

I have used Welter several times in the last 20 years - each service call they were prompt and efficient - and leave the space cleaner than it was before they arrived.  This time, they got to my house w/in 5 hours of my call and were able to give me a small time frame during which they'd arrive which made it easier to work around our schedules.   Their prices are always fair, as well...

Welter Plumbing is the best! My phone message was responded to promptly,  and Lee and Victor showed up well within the time frame given.  My sewer line was cleaned out quickly.  They are fairly priced, prompt and professional.

Ladies don't call.   Very condescending to women.   We have used Welter for a number of projects in our home.  They have typically done good work at a fair price. When I called to express concerns about work they were doing I was told I didn't know what I was talking about.  I ended up hanging up because the gentleman was so rude.

Doubt we'll use them until they realize women make up over 50% off the workforce and we pay the bills.

This company quoted us an extremely large amount for work that they said needed to be done to our new home. Thankfully, we got a second opinion and were told this work was unnecessary. Though we did not end up using Welter Plumbing, they STILL sent us a very LARGE bill for coming out to our home. Before their arrival, they never indicated we would be charged for a quote. Though I believe some charge for their time is fair, the bill amount for just looking at our plumbing was ridiculous.

That charge of 425 dollars was a bill for two service calls.  The first call was for a blocked sewage pipe for 125 dollars and took about an hour.  The second charge of 300 dollars was a re-routing of a toilet drain that took close to 3 hours.  I still feel that my charge of 325 dollars was too high to replace a shut off valve that took just over one hour.

I wanted to give serious props to Ryan at Welter Plumbing.  He called when he said he would. He arrived when he said he would. He was respectful of my home.  He made sure the manufacturer that needed to replace the part for my sink didn't give me the run around.  Oh yeah....and he fixed the problem too.  Highly recommend. This is my plumber for life.

Outstanding plumbing service. They got my leaky shower head done in ten-minutes. Very respectful of a woman client as well which I appreciated. This is a top notch, honest company. Will definitely use them again for any other repairs.

We've used Welter Plumbing in the past and twice have had the need for major sewer repair which they coordinated with expert sewer companies.  The first time was when we purchased our home 24 years ago ... husband was out of town, I had the village and several companies giving me bids.  Welter came out, saw the magnitude of the problem and called an expert in who had retired but knew how to fix the problem correctly and reasonably......   24 years later after a routine rodding, Welter discovered that a utility company had tunneled through our sewer line out in the street and once again coordinated the repair with North Coast Sewer Co.
It was expertly handled .... even though the utility co. had to handle the expense for their error - it says something when they praise the people involved with handling the repair!!!!!    Highly recommend and find them to be honest, reasonable and fair with their pricing.   We wouldn't use anyone else.

They are more expensive than other plumbers, but they are honest and very responsive.  My mom was suffering from the effects of chemotherapy when her sump pump broke down.  The guys were out there on the same day and fixed everything.  No problems since!

I've been using Welter plumbing since 2006, and they've given me great service.  Dan and his associates are nice, professional, and seem to do a good job.  I have them come to do annual inspections of our sump pump, backups, and flood control system.  I have also had them do occasional sewer rodding, install a backup sump pump, and unclog the occasional sink/drain.

Just used them for the first time, and very happy. Price is very reasonable and they took time to answer my question - even the ones that didn't pertain to the problem they were currently working on!

Have used Welter Plumbing more than once.  Always on time, and professional.  Brian takes the time to answer questions and explain things.  Today they fixed a job that was botched by a different plumbing company.  Live and learn.

I had a water heater situation.  The one that I had went out.  It was still under warranty, so all I had to do was take it out and bring it back to Home Depot.  There in lies the problem.  I have no idea what I am doing.  So, I called around and the 1st plumber wanted nothing to do with it.  He wanted $750 and said it would be a week.  Then I got in touch with Dan at Welter (recommended).  He explained the major cost was time.  Bringing it back and dealing with HD was going to be a major pain.  He quoted me about $500.  Then he explained he could put in a new one for $975.  The new one was much better than the piece of junk GE heater from HD.
Fast forward to the replacement, and it was great.  The guys were on time, cleaned up after themselves, and were in and out.  Outstanding job by Welter.  And, the $975 I was quoted on the phone - Exactly $975.  Not a penny more.  I did initially expect there to be some extra charges.
Awesome place to do business with.  I would most certainly advise to give them a call for any plumbing needs.

I had a sewage backing up into the tub. Called Welter Plumbing, Inc, they came out first thing the next day, I didn't consider it an emergency, or feel I needed same day service. The rodded from my crawlspace and got the clog, the toilet wipes were the culprit as they expected before they started. They got it flowing strongly again and cleaned up the tub. I also had them replace a splash guard in the disposal. So I can cross plumbing issues off my list or household issues for a while.

Welter plumbing has been doing a great job for me for the past 25 years. I trust their judgement and workmanship. They've always given me good advice and excellent service. Most recently, my sewage stack to the second floor broke. Jerry came over right away and came up with a solution that fixed the problem right away. Before that, Brian installed custom plumbing fixtures on my claw foot tub, no problem. And Dan is always charming in the office. The whole group plumbed and entire rental house for me in a single weekend! These guys are really good.

This is the forth or fifth time we had them over. On time, nice and courteous.

We had Welter plumbing over last week to fix a problem with a toilet, had no issues and it was fixed at a reasonable price.  A few days ago the chain fell off another toilet and we had to turn the water off to fix it, when we turned it back on we had a leak that would not stop.  I called the next morning for service and when I explained the issue they told me it was a loose bolt and had us try to tighten it before they came out and to our surprise ( we are not the least bit handy) it worked !  I want to thank Welter for their honesty, it showed us that they are a company that can be trusted  and they will not BS you into service calls or work that is not necessary.  This company gets a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !  Thank you...

These guys were recommended to me and now I know why! They are true professionals and gentlemen. When we had a problem that we thought we knew what had to be done, Welter plumbing gave us very honest and common sense advice. Any other plumber would most likely have jumped on our misconceived ideas about what had to be done to correct a problem and start chopping up the basement floor. Thank you once again to Welter plumbing for their honesty and sage advice. Finding a good and honest plumber seems rare these days.... so hats off to Welter!!!! Put these guys in your Rolodex now.... even if you don't need them at this moment.. I feel better just knowing they're around.

I needed the water pressure in our old house fixed before the closing in two days.  Welter came out within two hours of my call.  Brian and Derek were professional, friendly and did a great job.  When I asked about a second problem, they looked at it and fixed it for the price of a $15 part.  Welter is definitely my go-to place for plumbing issues from now on.

I used Welter Plumbing a few times and they seem knowledgeable, the owner is very good, but I've only seen him once or twice when the young ones couldn't figure out what to do.  In my opinion they are very expensive, they are not upfront with the cost until you get the bill, they tend to suggest you replace other non related parts ($$$$ items), but what annoys me the most is that every time they fix something, like rodding a drain line(160) something else breaks, like the pipe they rodded, but according to them pipes break and crack (so another 180 to replace pipe that cracked during rodding).  Yesterday we had them over to see why a toilet wouldn't flush...the guy suggested we replace a part ($35 part + 145 labor), then after he replaced the part he said we can't flush the toilet because after taking a look at the sump pump (located in my laundry room and seems to me like it's running fine) should be replaced and it's the reason the toilet is not flushing (could be, but of course $$$$ to replace it) This morning I went to do laundry and now I have water on the floor from somewhere( btw the sump pump works just fine)...coincidence I'm sure (and the reason for this review). Also, if you hire them for a job, ask how much everything they suggest costs, including the labor  or you'll be shocked at the end.  Bottom line, the owner is very good and knows pipes like no other.  If you don't mind paying twice for the same job, 1st time to fix the problem and  2nd time to fix what broke the 1st time, then by all means, call them, but if you are like me and can't afford to pay a plumber twice for the same job, then call someone else who is up front with his cost and will give you warranty on his work.
