ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
I have been in the electrical field for over 30 years doing just about every kind of installation. Fresh out of high school, not having any idea what to do, I started working as an apprentice for a small contractor out of Northbrook. I was able to move with several others to a start-up company where I truly grew in both my knowledge and responsibilities. It was here that I solidified this as the perfect career for me -- and I quickly dove right into every challenge that came my way. I obtained my electrical license in the midst of starting a new family, which drove me to start up a business of my own. As a result of an unwavering focus on customer service and using high quality materials we can stand by, the company steadily grew even despite the ups and downs of our economy. I have been fortunate to add Lee and Dawn to the company and plan to grow larger soon.
I am involved locally through the Village of Arlington Heights and spend the rest of the time with family and friends.

InTown did repairs in our new (old) house in Arlington Hts. They fixed multiple issues with our electrical panel, outlets, wiring, among other things. They were prompt, professional, and highly skilled. We wholeheartedly recommend them for all your electrical needs!! Thank you Tom and Lee!!
Tom and his team just completed work at our house in Mount Prospect installing 6 new LED can lights and a new ceiling fan in our living room and two new LED can lights in our upstairs hallway. Every aspect of our experience with InTown was top notch. I requested an estimate via their website and got an almost immediate response offering to schedule a convenient date/time for Tom to come by and scope out the work we were hoping to have done. A couple days prior to our scheduled estimate I had to call to reschedule due to COVID concerns and Dawn was extremely understanding and happy to reschedule for a later date. Once we had our estimate rescheduled, Tom dropped by in the evening and patiently walked through the various aspects of the projects I had in mind. He was friendly, polite, wore a mask and booties without me needing to ask, and took the time to answer all of my questions. Within a couple of hours, he emailed me a detailed line-by-line estimate consistent with the work we had discussed.
When we decided to go with InTown for the work, Dawn made it super easy to schedule a date and I received a text messages a day before the scheduled work to confirm the date and start time.
Tom and his team arrived promptly at 8am and took good care to lay down drop cloths and talk us through their game plan to be sure they would be locating the new can lights and fans in the right locations. The project ended up throwing them quite a few curve balls (thick plaster walls, conduit/wires not where they were expecting), but Tom and his team used their experience to find a solution that got us to the desired result with minimal wall damage/need for wall patching.
Tom and his team did a great job taking the necessary time to clean up once completing the project. And before leaving, Tom said to be sure to contact him if there was any aspect of the project that was not meeting our expectations.
Overall, we're very pleased with InTown's professionalism, organization, communication, and work. I would, without hesitation, recommend InTown to anyone looking to have electric work done.

I needed to have some relatively minor electrical work done and I hired InTown Electric after getting a few estimates. Everything about this company is top-notch. Tom was punctual for his estimate and for the job. He recommended only what I really needed (which I very much appreciate), called me when he was done, and was completely professional throughout.
Please don't think twice about hiring InTown Electric if you need work done. They really are superb.
Tom came out earlier this year and did some work installing outdoor electric and a second panel box. The work was great! Recently, I had issues with some indoor lights. I sent Tom an email asking him to come out to repair the issues. He sent me an email with 2-3 ideas on how to repair the issues which I tried and one of them worked - solving the issue I had quickly and without costing a penny! Will continue to bring my electric needs to InTown!
Great company. They installed a very tricky globe chandelier in our dining room and it was a very cumbersome job...they were awesome. Great service, awesome job. Totally recommend.

We had Tom and his associate out to replace an entry foyer chandelier. We couldn't be happier! From the original contact for a quote to their work today, we found them to be very professional. We were able to handle the quote all over email/texting of photos and giving lighting specs. They were on time today; arrived wearing masks and using booties to protect shoes. They were clean, polite and personable. They did fantastic work and never rushed us in deciding positioning of the chandelier. Highly recommend them and will definitely use them again in the future!

We hired InTown Electric to do the electrical work for our townhouse rehab project eight years ago and were pleased with their performance and honesty. Then we recently got the itch to buy a stand-alone house and we hired InTown again. Same results: Dependable, professional, knowledgeable and honest. Workmanship is above par. The project, involved adding numerous outlets, switches, dimmers (and replacement of all the existing ones with new ones), can lights, power feeds for track lighting, and a whole house surge protector. The work was completed two weeks ago.
Tom, the owner, is a straight shooter who knows his business and can offer you solid advice and his pricing is in line with other electrical contractors in the area. His bid identified all the aspects of the work and if there was any question, he clarified it clearly.
Would I hire InTown Electric again? Absolutely.
I can't say enough about this company, it's owner, it's employees, and the work they perform.
Five years ago open my first business and Tom came highly recommended. It was for a new build out medical and we were on a limited budget. Tom came in gave us a quote right quote and a few recommendations and it worked out better than expected. A few years later we needed a new light for the office and he put it in on schedule and below budget.
Flash 4 to 5 years later and I'm opening a new business. Another medical off office but with a different layout in a different look. I consulted Tom from the beginning to determine what's the most efficient way we can be green and modern what having a medical book. He again gave me some recommendations and even took me to an another business that had device that I was looking for that he recommend it and it was exactly what I wanted. All my patients talk about how cool it is at all my lights are like censored, LED, dimmable, and soft. I'm happy to say that I've been open for a year now and I'm calling Tom again to add a couple more outlets, that he recommended from the beginning and I didn't take his advice, and again he gave me some better advice and we have booked the next job.

InTown was both responsive and helpful. They did not happen to have availability in my very tight timeframe, but went out of the way to provide great customer service and suggestions anyway.

Tom and Nick have been exceptional in all of the work they have done for me over the past 5+ years. They've done everything from hanging ceiling fans, installing can lighting and even rewiring an entertainment closet, and I couldn't be happier. It's been a couple of weeks since Tom brought me light, and I'd be remiss if I didn't formally thank him and Dawn. I had reached out to three different providers, but InTown gave the most straighforward answers to my questions. Not to mention, the hospitality Dawn provided over the phone...I'm all about patience and detail in customer service.
My appointment was set for early September, but I got a surprise call in mid-August offering a visit that day. Great! I hadn't had anyone in my home for many months (Covid fears), but Tom showed up in full protective gear.
Financially, I was prepared for the worst, but the final bill seemed like an illusion. Wow. Tom came in for one particular task, but listened to me, and provided so much more.
I said my one disappointment was that he couldn't tune my piano.
So...pardon the essay...I just hadn't expected to be this grateful, and wanted to share my appreciation.
Again...thanks Tom and Dawn.

I recently was looking for a local electrical company to do some panel work in my home. I requested a quote/availability on Yelp with In Town and received a response within an hour. We made arrangements for an appointment within the day.
Nick came to do the job and was friendly, prompt, thorough, and explained everything that needed to be done. I would definitely consider In Town for future activities.
These guys were great! Competitive estimate, which they came out and did in person for free. They replaced a bunch of outlets and switches, some external lights, fixed a weird light switch, and installed two ceiling fans (including running wiring in attic). Both of the electricians we worked with were very nice, very professional, and kind to our very curious small children! They left everything working well and spotless. We will definitely call them in the future if we need electric work.

Best price. Great and timely service. Tom the owner was very helpful.
I had InTown Electric replace an existing bathroom fan that I had vented out through my roof. Unfortunately the bathroom fan was quite loud and seemed to be blowing air into the bathroom than sucking it out. Tom came back on a Saturday (a day they are normally closed) and discovered that the insulation contractors I had hired had cut corners when venting the fan through the roof such that the vent was plugged by insulation. After discovering this problem that was clearly not his fault, out of his own pocket, Tom went and bought new duct work to vent the fan properly. Even after I offered to pay for his additional services, he refused saying that all that was important was that we were happy with the work even if the problem wasn't his fault.
In my experience, Tom is a man of commendable character and a business owner I respect. I would not hesitate to work with him and InTown electric again and would highly recommend them.
In Town remains 5 star all the way. I've since had them come do additional relatively small jobs, all excellent. Even better, they stand behind their work no matter what (I'm NOT meaning to imply they did poor work, sometimes things just fail). This is something you don't see every day anymore, but greatly appreciated as a customer. All this combined will keep me a LOYAL customer for all my electrical work. Thanks again, In Town.

Tom and his crew went above and beyond to tackle a rather difficult project. Tom was flexible and sensitive to cost when we found out that our simple installation was far more complex than anticipated, while still maintaining both quality service and workmanship.

InTowns staff, both office and the field (Nick), were fantastic on a job that had them coming back multiple times. They were responsive, professional, and addressed all concerns. I would highly recommend them.
They were able to send someone out for a very small job within a couple of days of my contacting them. The labor cost was reasonable and the electrician was very professional.

inTown responded very quickly and had somebody available to come in the same day. Quickly figured out and fixed light switches in the bathroom and 5-way switches in the hall. Very nice and professional.
Tom came and spent the entire day at our house fixing outlets and switches and installing ceiling fixtures. He also fixed any existing electrical issues during that process. He took the time to walk us through what needed to do and explained everything to us. I would highly recommend InTown Electric and will use them for any electrical needs we have in the future.
I requested a quote for the installation of can lights in my kitchen, and Tom from InTown Electric was one of the first to come back with a quote. In addition, Tom actually provided a cost estimate without coming on scene, something others were not willing to do. Tom, and Nick, were a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. They made my small job feel like it was as important to them as it was to me. Not only was scheduling easy, Nick finished the install sooner than expected and below the quoted cost amount. Tom came by after the job for a quality inspection. I would highly recommend InTown Electric, and I will be calling them for all my future electrical needs.
We recently hired Nick to install recessed lighting throughout our home. We were so pleased with his work that we expanded the scope of our project and had him also install chandeliers, tv's, ceiling fans, light timers, outdoor lighting, etc. Nick's work helped transform our dated house to the home we always wanted. Nick is extremely skilled but also polite, punctual and eager to please nit-picky homeowners like myself. I highly recommend In Town Electric for quality professional work at a reasonable cost. I recently wanted to upgrade my 2 service panels and other various outlets and fixtures. All the work was done professionally on schedule and on budget. The final invoice matched the quote so there are no $ surprises at the end. This is my second time using In Town and I will definitely use them again if the need arises. They are very responsible and reliable.
I had a wall switch installed to control a ceiling light that did no have a switch as well having new wiring run to put a ceiling fan in and a wall switch to control the fan and its light. Tom came out and gave me the estimate and Nick came back to do the work; both are very professional. Nick showed up right on time and got right to work. He had to open a hole in the wall for switches and one in the ceiling for the fan, as well as needing to get up in the attic to run wires. The work was done quickly, everything works as it should and it was done very clean. After the work was done it was like everything had already been there and you would never know anyone was in our house doing work because Nick cleaned up great after the work was done. No chipping in the paint or wall around where to holes were made which amazed me (I assumed I would find something, but nothing was visible, it was perfect). After my experience with In Town Electric, I have no need to look anywhere else for electrical work; I highly recommend this company!

They completed the two jobs very quickly and there were absolutely no hitches. No surprises in their quote either. The electrical inspector from our village (schmbrg) was impressed with the job they did and we passed with flying colors.
