They were very good with initial response and ongoing communications. The work itself was very professional and it was fairly priced. Dylan was the technician on site and he was very helpful. Installed a new switch and did some troubleshooting on other things that were giving us trouble. Highly recommend!

On day of appointment , when current electrical was 15 min late, i called to make sure they were on the way.

Met with an electrician for a consult regarding Tesla Charger installation on 2/8. I have a 200A main that also feeds two subpanels - one in garage and one in basement. I also have a NEMA 6-50 outlet installed on a 40A circuit in the garage subpanel.

Electrician felt that garage subpanel would be overloaded (which is correct). However, he also insisted that code dictated the charger be fed via direct line to the main. That afternoon I spoke with the individual overseeing permits for my village and he confirmed that is not the case.

When I bought this up to the electrician he said he'd reach out to the inspector. A few days went by so I called and was directed to send an e-mail. Electrician replied Monday morning that he was still waiting to hear back from the inspector. E-mailed back asking for a timeframe - no response.

I called the office - office manager said to e-mail. Called the next day and left message with answering service to call back ASAP - no call back. Called the day after and spoke with same office manager - 'I'm sorry but everyone is out at a meeting so you're going to have to continue to wait.' 'Well I've been waiting a long time, is there someone else I can talk to?' 'No everyone is at the meeting.' 'Can I talk to the owner?' 'Maybe - he only comes in every so often, I can't guarantee when you'll hear back.'

Today, Jim (president of the company) e-mailed me with the estimate for the electrician's original plans - no apology for the delay, no phone call to try to develop a rapport, no confirmation that the inspector had or had not been reached. Just 'here's the estimate.'

It's clear the lack of customer service comes from the top.

I have used this company three times for infrequent electrical issues at our single-family home. They are reliable, professional, personable (but not overly sales-y), and do quality work. The rates, as far as I can tell, are in line with industry averages. I like that they provided a detailed invoice.

One of the best experiences with a contractor I can remember.

Eric walked me through the Tesla wall charger and the scope of work, warning the pipe would have to be painted/covered to look good, and I agreed.

I was quoted a couple weeks out, and a fair price compared to what other Tesla owners were charged by other contractors

Their installers Movie and Even, came out on time, warned me about the cosmetic pipe issue a 2nd time, and finished earlier than promised.

I was in need of an electrician, and got the referral from several friends/neighbors that unanimously recommended Current Electrical Contractors. The service - from scheduling an appointment, to requesting a swag hook that matched the color of my chandelier (they painted the hook to match the chandelier as best possible), to showing up with a friendly attitude - was  excellent.

I had the guys come out for two separate jobs: one, installation of a long chandelier, and two, replacing LED dimmers that weren't working with the chandeliers in place. Both jobs were completed successfully!

They charge by the hour ($135), and it is more if you need more than one guy sent out (heavy chandelier installations). Expect a range of 2-4hours per chandelier installation.

6 Weeks - No Quote

My initial experience with Current Electric was good. I submitted an inquiry via their website and quickly received a call. I was able to schedule an at-home appointment for the following week in order to review the work required to provide a quote. This appointment took place on May 4th.

The technician was both professional and knowledgeable. He offered helpful suggestions and I had a good impression of their services.

This is where the experience completely deteriorated. It has now been over a month and a half since the technician came to my home.

I have called multiple times requesting an update on my quote. Each time I have been given an apology and a promise to receive a quote by a specific date. Those dates have now come and gone four different times.

As of today, nearly 7 weeks since my technician visit, I still have not received a quote.

Based on the other reviews, my experience seems to be unique; however, I have given them multiple opportunities to provide the promised quote.

At this point, I can only conclude that EV charger installations are not a priority for their company.

I contacted Current Electrical for the installation of a grounded outlet as well as checking a loose extension cord in the attic.  They were responsive, friendly, knowledgeable and I was delighted to be able to get the projects completed quickly.  Tom did a great job and I sincerely appreciate it.  I highly recommend Current Electrical for any electrical needs!

Current Electric is awesome, they do great work and I highly recommend them, especially if doing an electric charger for your Tesla. My panel was maxed out with 100 amps, had them upgrade to 200 amps, they did such a clean job and made sure codes were followed for the village. Their high attention to detail to make sure everything had a clean look is key to a great company! I would totally recommend them and would hire them again in a heart beat!

Wonderful experience from start to finish.  If I could give them ten stars I would.  Promptly fixed a garage timer.  Arrived a little early for our appointment time but called ahead to make sure it was ok.  Arek did a great job.  Look forward to using them again.  Confident in their abilities.

Contacted Current Electricians to fix a recess lighting that wasn't working. Not only did this company send me a reminder they even sent me a picture of my technician that was coming out day of. Ovi (my technician) came out on time and was very professional. Ovi had a mask on the whole time and even put on shoe covers while in my home. After 5 mins Ovi had told me my dimmer was bad and had my recess lights fixed and working in 20 mins. Ovi went above and beyond to take his time and make sure he did a good job. He also had the consideration of me paying by the half hour so was quick but efficient. I am so pleased with the work and professionalism I will be calling Current Electrician for all my electrical needs. It's hard to find honest companies that pride themself of their work. Current Electrician are definitely one of the few still out there. Highly highly recommend!!

Current recently completed an electric car wall charger (Tesla model S) and office line. World class A++.

They were super professional and friendly through the whole cycle: from the estimate to scheduling, to the permit process and installation.

During the 1.5 days of installation, Ovi and his partner were outstanding. Top notch experienced work with terrific skills. They skillfully worked a long run, were exceedingly clean throughout the whole process, and explained the entire project as it was being done.

Their price was competitive and the quality was superb.

I plan to recommend and use them for all future electrical needs.

I had 240V outlet installed for my Tesla and they did a great job to install the outlet. It takes only a few days from I decided to use their service to them ordered the permit and came to install it. Overall very good experience and highly recommended!

Even though I did not go forward with their service they were easily the best that came to inspect the work needed to be done on my property. I highly recommend Tom as he was very honest of his assessment and even found some issues that my building needed to address which I passed along to the property management company. They were slightly more expensive than others but if you want an accurate and thorough assessment I would call them. Will contact them in the future for any electrical work that might need to be done.

We had this company install a Tesla charger in our garage.  Multiple Day Project - Panel had to be upgraded and the power had to be run out to the garage.

Experience from the initial quote to the final inspection was top notch. I worked mainly with Don and Eric. Both very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. It's clear everyone I communicated with knew what they were doing. Further, everyone was on time each and every day and they left the site perfectly clean. We couldn't have been happier with our decision to contact and work with the electricians at Current Electrical.  We needed to have an old 100 amp pushmatic breaker panel replaced and both Arek and Evan were very professional, methodical and had an eye for detail.  They explained everything they were doing and answered all of our questions. They cleaned everything up upon completion of the job and took all the trash away with them.  We will be sure to contact them for additional work at our house.

We at Richardson Seating use Current Electric as our electrician for the last 4 years. They have been so reliable since day one. We operate out of a 100 year building and with that comes a lot of issues. Current Electric has been able to problem solve issues and able to offer solutions with keeping cost down.

Every technician they sent has been professional and on time. If they say they will be there at 7am they are there.

We used Current Electrical to do some jobs several months ago, our experiences with them were positive.  Everyone from this company came across as polite and friendly.  Dylan and Julian came on Halloween to change 6 light bulbs on our super high ceiling and install an electric mirror in one of our bathrooms.  They did a good job and Julian was a dare devil who was absolutely fearless of height.  However, when they worked on the jobs outdoors, they encountered one of the worst winter storms on Halloween day, and could not finish all the jobs (not their faults).  I need to give a special shout-out to Andy, who came several days later to finish the job. Andy looked at an additional problem that I showed him outdoors (we didn't notice that before), and decided that we only need to replace a socket of one of the ground lights.  He said he would bring it when he's in the area and replace that for us for free!  Later I found out that the mighty post that Dylan and Julian installed had 2 broken plastic plates.  Maybe they didn't see them as there was a bad winter storm when they were here.  I emailed Don at Current, he immediately responded and promised to re-order the mighty post and would re-install for free.  When Andy came with the post about a couple of weeks later, he was able to just replace the plates without digging out the post and replace that.  I was pleasantly surprised that he still remembered the socket that he mentioned!  He supplied and replaced that for free.  I am very pleased with Andy's honesty, ability and knowledge, great work ethic and attitude!

Good service, but EXPENSIVE!! The charge is $135 an hour and the average electrician charge is between 50-100 an hour. I just figured because they received great reviews that they would be priced reasonably. Use if you can afford, but we'll be finding quality work elsewhere.

I had Current Electrical come out for two separate projects, one of which was to replace old wiring and install ceiling fans in two rooms.  Very happy with the quality of work and professionalism of the electricians.   I will definitely use this company for all of my future electrical projects

We are very happy with Current Electical!   They have been servicing our electrical needs in both our home and my office.  They are always very timely, stay within the estimate, and work neat and clean to where you can't even tell they did work in your place.   We have had good luck with Bobby, in that he always explains everything prior to commencing the work.   Don't hesitate to use this company!

I never used this service but called to request an assessment of unit's 2 bathrooms which were completely out of power. The person I spoke to suggested I try doing a power reset as he's seen this fix power issues in older units. I never thought about this since the entire power was out (not just the outlets). Lo and behold it worked and he saved me at least $100. He could've easily come out knowing it would probably take just a few minutes to mix and this would've been easy money for him. But he was an honest man and for that I'm very appreciative. Even though I didn't use his services this time, I will make sure to call him if I ever have an electrical problem.

I had Remi from Current Electrical come by today to fix some electrical inspection items in my new home as well as evaluate the overall state of my electrical.

Scheduling the appointment required a couple of phone calls to coordinate. The first time I tried, I called around lunch and never got a callback. The second time I called, I contacted them first thing in the morning and scheduling the service was a breeze. Don was able to provide me a fair-priced quote over the phone and scheduled for an electrician to come out the next week.

Remi contacted me about 30 minutes before he arrived and showed up on time. He was able to quickly fix all of my problems within an hour along with explanations of why things were broken and how to prevent them in the future.

I was very happy with the service I received and will gladly hire Current Electrical again in the future.

Fast and easy scheduling. I didn't have much flexibility in my schedule but still got an appointment within a week or so of calling, which was great because I had already put the project off for too long. I had a 36-inch round chandelier I wanted hung on a vaulted ceiling. Eric did a great job. Showed up on time, friendly guy, talked me through what needed to be done, and made sure I was happy with the way it looked. Eric also took a look at another light fixture I want to move and gave me some advice on what to do. The work was done in about 2 hours and it looks great. Ironically just a few hours later I discovered the outlet on my deck isn't working so... guess who might be getting another call soon!

Customer service is exceptional! The first time I used Current they had very limited availability and I had to schedule an appointment a week out, but the customer service rep offered to contact me if they got any cancellations, which I really appreciated, and I ended up being able to get an electrician out later that day! I wound up having to cancel my most recent appointment but I received the same great customer service nonetheless! Would recommend.

We had Current Electrical do a fair amount of work on our house recently, including can lighting, fan boxes, lighting controls throughout the house, and work on our kitchen.  It was (for us) a large project, but everyone who worked on the project was professional, flexible, affable, and good communicators.  The work was done neatly and well!  All the electricians who did work there were excellent, but I have to specifically single out for praise Bobby and Julian who did the lion's share of the work, for their attention to detail, great communication, and flexibility.  I highly recommend this company!

These guys are great. Responsive on the phone, then the electricians are hard-working, and listen to what needs to be done. They rewired our old home and brought it (slightly reluctantly) into this century. Today I called them today worried about a water leak which I thought was causing some lights to not work. They fixed the lights and double checked for water (which was not the problem). Very pleased they came out on the same day.

Totally satisfied with the work they did in our home. Price was better than most and the work was done quickly & professionally. At the time of this review, they charge a flat rate per hour and do not charge for travel like another local company.

I had an amazing experience with Current. Called to set up an appointment to get an estimate for exterior lighting put in on my home. Phone was answered - this might seem silly but a lot of places don't answer the phone or return messages. Anyway, Don arrived when he said he would (called when he was on his way), Don was knowledgeable and helpful in deciding where and what kind of lighting would be best for my home. And, when he wrote up the estimate (sent later that week via email) it was listed out so we could see the cost of each part so we could pick and choose if we wanted to do all the lighting or just parts. That was super helpful. Anyway, scheduled an appointment for the lighting installation and the technicians were very nice and professional. They didn't mind at all as I watched them work and asked questions. I cannot recommend Current Electrical enough.

This company is as good as it gets!  So professional and courteous!  They were always on time, respected my home, left it cleaner than when they arrived, were friendly and knowledgeable.  The work they did was fantastic. I recently bought a new building and during the home inspection I was told it would be a good idea to get the house rewired due to the fact that it had cloth wiring. I found Current Electrical and made an appointment to have the house inspected. I mostly dealt with Don and with their electrician journeyman Ovi. Very professional and knowledgeable was Ovi. I highly recommend Current Electrical. They rewired just about the whole house, installed ceiling fans, installed light switches and wall outlets.

Remi called and came early which worked out great for us. He fixed our oven wiring issue and replaced a few other parts and was super professional and even cleaned up everything and vacuumed under the oven for us before he put everything back together. We've now had two exceptional experiences with Current, and would highly recommend them.  Most recently, they provided us with a thorough estimate for upgrades to our home, and then scheduled an appointment to complete work soon after.  When completing the work, they were professional, polite, tidy, and most importantly, willing and able to tackle the difficult quirks of upgrading electric in a 90 year old home.  They even went as far as using a label maker to note which appliances need to be plugged into certain outlets due to voltage requirements.  Overall, they consistently go above and beyond, are responsive, and are extremely skilled in their line of work.

Current Electric couldn't have been better! Don came to quote and was very professional. Answered all my questions and the quote was super detailed exactly the job I requested. Andy and John came out to do the work, both also super friendly, professional and did clean work. Install was  great, cleaned up from debris, and explained everything to me before they left the site. I decided to book the job with his company and it was scheduled promptly. The electricians, Andy and John showed up right on time and explained everything they would need to do and let me know how long they would be working. They were diligent, professional, and courteous. Big props to electricians Remy and Julian for work they did in my Chicago home.  They added a sub-panel, put in a 240 volt charger in my garage... for my future electric car... :), and they ran wires so I could have radiant electric floor heat in my basement.  They were on time, responsible, neat, and professional.  Remy is truly a class act, and you can tell he really prides himself on doing a great job.  I'll be definitely using Current Electrical again.

We have used Current for over 9 years.  They were the electrical contractor who was hired by our general contractor to build our house.  They did an excellent job.  Since then we have used them more than 10 times for various projects large and small.  They are timely, responsive and provide detailed quotes. The staff is nice, professional and well trained.  We have had no issues.

I've had great electrical work done by other contractors and have given them 5 stars for the work, so I really wish I were able to give 6 stars to Current Electrical.  I live in a very old house with a detached garage.  I needed a 240V 60A hookup in the garage which only had a single 120V circuit from the house.  This involved moving breakers from the main panel to a sub-panel to make room for the new circuits and running a 1 pipe from the panel, out of the house, into a trench, into the garage and then provisioning for a car charger.  I was very pleased with the reasonable quote for all of this work and more pleased with how thoughtful, thorough and effective that lead contractor, Andy and his team were in the completion of this work.  I am confident that this work was done to the highest standards of quality and safety.  The group was mindful of our things that had to be moved, with everything put back exactly as it was found, and careful to not to tear up the yard any more than was necessary (there is no evidence at this point that work was done).  Andy came to me several times during the process to explain what was happening next or to arrange the power disruptions in the house for minimal inconvenience.  I selected Current Electrical among suppliers with this type of experience from their Yelp rating.  I'm glad that I did, and you will too.

Current Electrical installed two new circuits in my garage that involved a fair amount of trenching as well. The whole experience with all of their crew, from getting the initial quote, to the actual work, to the inspection and followup was great. All of the guys involved were professional, friendly, and efficient. I would definitely recommend them for any electrical projects.

I received a quote for some lighting work several months ago from them, but ended up going with a different company that was cheaper but seemed less experienced. When I started having issues with the lighting, I had two separate people come by, purchased multiple different parts, and nobody could figure out the problem. I called Current Electric and they were able to come out in a few days. Within 10 minutes, Remi was able to figure out the problem and fix it. He also gave us some useful tips on which light bulbs to purchase. They are definitely pricier than some other options, but it is worth it to have the job done right. Highly recommend!

Jim is a true professional and is the best electrician I worked with.  When needed to install some security light for our condo project his crew showed on time, took care of the problem and when realized that they didn't have the right parts to finish the job offered to come back at no additional cost.

Current Electrical recently completed a commercial store build out for me. The pricing and service were excellent. The tech knew how to get the job done quickly and on budget. They had great ideas for the design and layout of the electrical outlets and system. I would not hesitate to call them again.

Setting up the appointment was smooth. Was called day before to confirm date & time. Jared and Mitch showed up on time (0700), wore boot protectors, got right to work, worked steadily and efficiently, installed several items, confirmed periodically throughout the day that our wishes were being met and that all was working properly, vacuumed up after themselves, removed all packaging etc. and departed with a smile. No doubt one of the best service encounters my wife & I have ever enjoyed.

I have used Current sporadically over the years yet they treat me like I am a regular customer.  They will schedule service around my schedule.  I was having trouble understanding why the timer was not working on my terms.  Turns out it was my error, yet they were nothing but great!  Thanks
