Dan quickly responded in the beginning on a Tuesday, sent him pictures. Dan said that he could come Friday afternoon, said okay, since he lived in the Ewa Beach area. He never got back to me, sent him a text on Friday to tell him that he never responded. I am very disappointed. I wanted to hire him because of his five star reviews on yelp. Terrible, he forgot about me.

I normally do reviews after thinking about what I am going to write, however, this is a situation where I couldn't wait to do the review! I called Dan, after reviews from Yelp, because of my failed YouTube attempt to remove and install a bathroom faucet. I was proud of myself after removing the old faucet but my problems came after I thought I did it correctly. Well it was all good until I tested it by pouring water and of course it leaked!

When I called Dan yesterday, which was Friday, he said he could make it to our house the next day which was today. This after he considered coming later that evening. I told him Saturday morning was fine. He was prompt and saw the mistakes I made and fixed it in less time than it took me to put putty on a pipe!

Here are the reasons why Dan is da Man(couldn't resist):
1) He answered the phone!!! Not naming names but a plumber I used to use doesn't!
2) Dan is a man of his word. He said he would be at the house between 8:00 am to 8:30 am. He came 15 mins early.
3) Dan could have charged double what he did. Did I mention he came on a Saturday?!
4) Most importantly I can tell by our phone conversation and in person he genuinely cares about his customers well being. This is not always the case with other companies.

I have no doubt that Dan is my new go to plumber! If you have any plumbing issue give him a call because I have tried others and he keeps his word. He is more than fair with his rates!

I've had a very good experience with this company and will definitely use them again! I had an issue with my toilet water rising after flushing and it wouldn't flush. I immediately requested quotes simultaneously from different companies on Yelp to have it fixed. Dan wrote back quickly including 2 others. I unfortunately went along with the first one without doing any research about it, which was Hawaii Drain Pro. I was busy and just needed it to get fixed. Hawaii Drain Pro came at the end of the day (7pm), snaked it, replaced the toilet, stated there wasn't any clog (toys or objects) then proceeded to say our toilet was old and if we put in a new one the problem would've been fixed. Well, wouldn't that have been nice to know BEFORE they put the old one back on? I mean, we live near a home improvement store?!. That cost us about $300 and the next day - the SAME problem!! But I'll save you the details at my review for Hawaii Drain Pro that I'll be doing next. So, I contact Dan, tell him my sob story, and he makes time in his schedule to come over and give me a FREE consultation and even snaked my toilet. He believed that there probably was something stuck in it that couldn't be reached and recommended we change the toilet as well. A plumber came when we scheduled and completed a new tub spout, new toilet, and a new kitchen faucet. The plumber was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. No Attitude like Hawaii Drain Pro. And best of all, all of those things we had done were affordable and FIXED. We are so happy with our experience with Dan Does Plumbing and his crew. Talking to Dan is like talking to a regular person and not like taking to a Used Car Salesmen, which it often feels like when talking to other companies, like Hawaii Drain Pro (rip offs!). This is an example of why you should always Buy Local and not use these types of companies that have big fancy vans (red flag!). Those company's always tack on fees that were never mentioned before putting you in an awkward situation. Dan was up front about the costs and I really appreciate that there are still honest people with moral values.

This review is really late but I wanted to make sure to credit this guy. Dans come out to our home, in Waianae, 3 separate times doing a total of 4 different jobs. Twice he had to fix work originally done by someone else that was tricky without ripping out our walls, but he found a way to save our wall and solve the issue in about 2-3 hours. He's always been punctual, works quickly and has done excellent work. He's easy to talk to and you get the sense that he really wants to help you. His rates are fair considering the quality of work he delivers and is worth every penny paid. His billing system makes it easy to pay with many different payment options also. Im calling him for all our plumbing needs in the future!

My day went from bad to good thanks to Dan.

Yes, as luck would have it I experienced a flat tire in the morning on the way to work (nail lodged snug in tire). UGH!

At work around 1pm my daughter calls to say there is a water leak from behind the toilet upstairs and water is dripping from the ceiling below. WHAAT!!! OMG this day is turning crazy.

Used the yelp app to ask for estimates to fix the issue and might as well change out the ancient toilet too. Dan D P response time was lightning fast. Received around 5 estimates from different plumbing companies in all and Dans was by far the lowest. Estimates ranged from $600 to $650 for installation w removal and none could do same day service. ( Everybody showering at a friends house tonight).

Made an appointment with Dan and he said the soonest was 9am Tuesday (next day). Luckily my partner was able to shut off the main water line asap so the house was not flooded and water damage down to a minimum. Fanning all the floors and hoping no wood rot.
Called Dan next morning around 8am to confirm and he was sending in Nalu to help me with the installation and removal.
Nalu showed up around 920am and went into action. Everything went as smooth as butter except for 1 water line connector. My house is over 100 years old with galvanized metal pipes so Nalu needed to find an adapter to fit the ancient odd 3/4 size to the modern size water line they use now. It was a short delay and testing for leaks-and DONE! Before 11am he was finished with everything.

What did he charge me?????
Less than half of the lowest estimate.

Amazing, professional, quick, efficient and friendly! WOW! Highly recommended to all my family and friends.

5 huge shiny gold stars and it cost less than half of what the other companies quoted.

PLEASE, PLEASE CALL DAN and save yourself so much money and un-necessary stress!

Contacted Dan through Yelp's automatic quote request and he came back with a very fast and reasonable response. I sent pictures of my problem and we discussed it before I confirmed his service. His guy, Nalu, came within a half hour of estimated time. When Nalu got here, he explained everything he was going to do and why. Although it was more than I was expecting to have done, he explained why it had to be done that way. Dan kept to his original quote. Nalu was extremely pleasant and professional and got everything done efficiently. I'm very pleased with their service. Will definitely recommend them and call on them for future service. I work for a licensed general engineering contractor and have over 40 years of hands-on experience in water utility work including pumps, valves, and pipe fitting work. My mother's 60-year-old laundry faucet fixture assembly started leaking and washing machine laundry valve broke.

Although I've worked on her plumbing before, I didn't want to spend the time hunting for the specialty replacement components and also risk breaking something else on her old plumbing system. So, I emailed photos of the problem to Dan. He responded promptly with a very reasonable estimate and availability to do the work.

Once on site, Dan also pointed out that the main house isolation valve could not close drip-tight. I had him install a new valve as well. He and his helper completed all the work and clean up in about an hour. When I inspected his work and tested everything, I was impressed with the quality and cleanness of his work. Total cost for Dan's work was very reasonable. If I was hired to do this, my price would have been almost double his price.

I've done copper solder repair work on my own house plumbing, but I actually plan to contact him again to do some additional work on my own house.

I called Dan Does Plumbing based on his 5 star rating. I told him 2 other plumbers turned down the job. I also told Dan it was a tight area to work in. He wanted me to take pics so he knows what he was getting into. I took pics and he gave me an estimate which was lower than what was quoted by the other plumbers.
Gave Dan the ok to start and he came out the next day. It was a longer project than anyone anticipated, Dan went to plan A then plan B then plan C then plan D which finally worked.
Dan and his assistant Koa went the extra mile to make sure they fixed our problem.
It took 3 days to complete the job, Dan never gave up and did everything possible to fix the problem.
True to his quote plus a little more because of the complexity was totally acceptable.
I cannot thank Dan enough for a professional job. Everything was clean and neat.
So far the best company to get for all your plumbing needs done correctly and professionally.

Dan and his apprentice showed up at the time he said he would. I showed him my plumbing issues and they took note of each and told me what was needed to be done and got to work. Both Dan and his apprentice were very accommodating, friendly and professional on answering my questions. Once their work was done they cleaned up around each work area. Checked all of their work. They fixed 2 leaky showers , 1 leaky toilet. And adjusted my dishwasher. Thank you Dan for the quality work!

My 2 upstairs toilets were clogged, so I called one company but they didn't return my call. I then decided to try Dan Does Plumbing because of the quantity and quality (5 star ratings) of reviews that were posted on Yelp. Unlike the other company, Dan returned my call and was able to come by the next day to fix my plumbing problem. Similar to what many of the other reviewers said: I WILL DEFINITELY CALL HIM AGAIN for any future plumbing needs!

STAY AWAY! PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICTURES AND YOU WILL KNOW WHY. It shouldn't be Dan does plumbing but it should be DAN DOES NOT DO PLUMBING! I hired him to change out the shut-off valves and do a bathroom renovation. The only thing out of this project that I can say that is okay are the shut-off valves. That's the one star.

The result of the bathroom renovation was horrendously horrible. He had a trainee which was the tile guy to do most of the work. There was a day which Dan was not even there when this trainee installed the shower valve and pipes and the drop ear piece. Then Dan went on this vacation leaving this tile guy to do the tiling of shower walls and bathroom floor. The results of the grout lines were not smooth and the caulking was a total mess. Thinset was peeking out everywhere and he just grouted right over it and there were spots of messy grout clean up and caulking was a mess. He was packing up and leaving like he was done, so luckily I was there to point it out. He did come back the next day to clean the thinset areas, but the everything else is still a total mess.

As for the shower pipe, it was not anchored correctly so now the pipes moves left and right and the pipe was anchored facing a little to the left. When I brought it up to Dan, he claimed it was solid (which he did not install, the trainee did) but blamed someone else might have done something to it. I had pictures that was shown to 3 different plumbers and even they said it was anchored incorrectly so that's why it moves. It's missing a 2x4 to anchor the drop ear so it does move left and right. Dan's band-aid fix was to caulk it and he said he would charge me if he had to spend an entire day to break down the walls and fix it. Why would I pay for the fix when it was not even installed correctly in the first place!

He was pointing fingers at everyone but himself. The final product shows his horrible workmanship. He also blamed me for going behind his back and adding things. As a consumer/client, one can change their mind at anytime and the business owner would give new estimates. Dan saw the final product mention about price might change.. he just emailed me the bill that evening without adjusting the price, so he DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS! He could have easily communicated with me that he needed to adjust the estimate, but he did not. He keeps saying that I got $1500 for free. Then he resorts to name calling....called me a jerk! HOW UNPROFESSIONAL IS THAT?! He NEVER once took ownership of this issue and apologize for the horrible job.

I reached out to Dan through the yelp app to get a quote for a plumbing leak I had in my front yard. He got back to me right away! I'm talking less than half an hour!! And with a very decent quote for my project. I scheduled an appointment for later in the week, and within a couple of hours my project was complete! Very fast, friendly, and professional work from the plumbers who came. Overall price came in less than quoted price, which was icing on the cake for me. My experience with Dan Does Plumbing has been great, and I highly recommend them for any of your plumbing needs.

Don't hire anyone else~ Call Dan he's the man to do the job. I explained the problem & what I wanted done....he came a few days later per my request. Arrived on time as scheduled. Came in fixed the toilet leak, adjusted my garbage disposal and boom he was right out the door 15-20 minutes tops! He even told us if we had any problems after to call and he'd come back with no charge. Keep in mind he also didn't charge us an arm & leg for coming out to the west side ....which most companies do (or they are afraid to lol). Easy online bill pay. He was very professional and in fact I have referred him out to quite a few people already. Much cheaper than anyone else.

I recently found out that my Aunt has had a broken shower for years since my uncle passed away. My aunt is struggling financially and is a dialysis patient and very weak..... she's been filling up buckets and struggling as she had to carry the water to the bathroom to take a sponge bath. Left me broken hearted to hear. So, I asked Dan to please run up to her place and see what's up. He went up there and did a free estimate, we scheduled an appointment for repair which he also took the extra additional time to see the association complex manager etc., He went on his scheduled repair time on time of course, did his thing, in and out....and now my Aunty is SO HAPPY and BLESSED to have regular daily showers!

Contacted him through Yelp for a quote and he was very responsive and able to schedule us in quickly. We needed our water heater and toilet changed out so we ordered from Home Depot and he picked them up and delivered them to our house. He was able to do both in the same day and he was good at explaining what he was doing and how to use the new water heater. We called him up later and he was able to answer our questions and helped us troubleshoot. He even disposed of the old toilet and water heater so we basically did nothing. His rates were good and I will definitely call him again when we need any services!

Called Dan and guess what?! He answered the phone-woohoo what a surprise.I told him my garbage disposal wasn't working but was humming when turned on, and the sink was backing up. With the holidays and all, definitely need clear drains.

He was so nice! He told me the blades in the disposal were likely jammed. He said to use the tool that came with the disposal (similar to an Allen wrench). And to call him if it didn't fix my problem.

Well, did you know this little tool is supposed to come with your garbage disposal? I've had several disposals installed and have never seen it. When I checked online, sure enough the tool IS included with the disposal!

We were able to buy a Jam Buster at Lowe's for $7.98. A few cranks (1..5 minutes) later, and my disposal was working and my drain was clear.

Thanks Dan for a very merry Christmas! What a great present. I'll definitely call when I need an expert plumber! Happy Holidays- I know mine will be.

This review is long overdue. I've had 3 or 4 jobs done by Dan over the years. He is easy to get ahold of. Returns calls/texts right away. Shows up when ge says he will. Does great work and the best thing of all ... he's very affordable. No need to call around and get quotes from different plumbers. I used to do that but not any more. I just call Dan and I know I will get quality work done at a fair (and usually the best) price.

In May 2021, there was a leak from our solar water heater and I didn't know how to address it. Dan came out to my property in Waianae to attempt an assessment. Unfortunately, I have a 2-story home and he didn't have a ladder to reach the roof where the leak was coming from. From what I could tell from the others who showed up to try and assess it, it's really only roofing companies that have ladders that tall. His friendly demeanor and positive attitude, even though it looked like he'd come out all the way from 'Ewa for nothing, was all I needed to assure me that Dan genuinely cares and is a nice man.

Fast forward to November 2021, I needed to change out two toilets in my upstairs bathrooms and change two faucets (one in my garage and one in the upstairs kitchen). I was shocked that he'd be able to accommodate me so quickly the following week, so close to Thanksgiving! He not only showed up early but he, along with his apprentice, was able to change both toilets and change one of the faucets in almost no time.

The second faucet didn't have the correct lines (I didn't know which ones I needed). When he went to turn off the water to do the work, he found out that not only was my main water valve old, but it was leaking and I needed to have it changed. Because I was leaving for a short trip, he accommodated my schedule and planned to return the next week. Again, Dan and apprentice showed up on time, brought the correct lines for my second faucet, and arranged to have the Board of Water supply shut my water off so he could change my water valve. Everything got done so quickly!!

I can't tell you what a relief it is to know that my water valve isn't leaking anymore (yay, saving money!!), the toilets and faucets have been changed out to sturdy ones rather than the old cheap ones the original owners left behind AND he hauled the old toilets away as well so I don't have to worry about disposing of those either! I'm sitting here in gratitude. Such a stellar job, efficient and quality work, and super reasonable rates! I am always wary of being taken advantage of for work like this. Quite honestly another company quoted me A LOT more than Dan did, in such a corporate way. If you get to talk story with him, Dan is matter of fact, knowledgeable about all sorts of things (including dogs, he got along swell with my rotties), and has quite a sense of humor.

I ABSOLUTELY recommend giving Dan a call for your plumbing needs. I am undoubtedly going to call him for my future needs as well. Thank you so much, Dan!

Needed to replace a pressure reducing valve due to leaking at the set screw and diaphragm joint. Dan Dies Plumbing replied to my request within 15-30 minutes and provided a very reasonable estimate. Set an appointment for the next Tuesday. They were on time and did an outstanding job. Even had them return the next day to replace a cartridge in my shower. Reliable, friendly, and outstanding service.

Dan came to check on a leak we had at our townhome that was coming through the second bathroom floor. He was able to pinpoint the problem and even stayed longer to explain the details of the problem. He provided us knowledge on why the leak was not from the plumbing but rather from the grouting in the shower. Due to the problem rooting from issues other than the plumbing we didn't have to use his services; but because his customer service was so great we had to bring it up on Yelp!! He worked within our schedule and was flexible enough to meet when it was convenient for us. Some plumbers charge for estimates but not Dan!

Service 10 May 2021

I contacted Dan Does Plumbing late on the evening of mother's day (Sunday 9th May) and early the following morning I had a response inquiring if I still needed service.

Yelp indicated that I was communicating with the business owner, Daniel.
I acknowledged that I still needed service so we exchanged a few messages on Yelp. He provided his phone number then asked me to text him a message with images of the toilet that needed service; I did and he responded promptly to those messages.

After sending the images, Daniel informed me that he would be able to stop by my house later than same day. The time was convenient for me so I agreed. He also provided a quote which he informed me was for parts and services. I felt the price was reasonable but I expected it to change once the work was done (in my experience, some estimated quotes over the phone are just that, estimated quotes).

Fast forward to later that day when my service was scheduled. I didn't hear from Daniel so I just assumed he was busy, it happens so I was not too worried. About 30-45 minutes after the scheduled time, I received a phone call asking for directions.. Turns out the GPS took him on the other side of town. Since I was inside, I was unaware that his coworker was already outside waiting for Daniel to arrive. Apparently his GPS sent him elsewhere too but he eventually found my house.

When Daniel finally arrived, him and his coworker got straight to work. They immediately identified the problem and within a few minutes and a few flushes, had my toilet working like new.

Previously during our message conversation, Daniel informed me that he took cash, check or card as forms of payment. For card, he would need an email address for receipt or invoice to pay online if by card. I had cash so that was the form of payment I used (when he quoted me is exactly what I paid; no extra fees). Before leaving he asked me to provide my email address, which I did. Later that night, I received an invoice for the service I received.

I am happy with the service I received from Dan Does Plumbing. They promptly responded to my request and was able to provide same-day service. I will be using this business in the future if the need ever arises and would recommend them to my friends and family.

Dan installed a hybrid water heater for us after the existing tank heater started leaking. He and his guys were on time (early actually), worked quickly and efficiently, and were very neat. The tank and copper fittings look and work great, and I'm happy that we went with his recommendation of an AO Smith over the Rheem I initially planned on getting. Even when we ran into a problem with a fixture leak upstairs that acted up after the heater install, Dan came right back to assist with getting that resolved.

He came by the same day I called to check out the issue which was an outdoor water leak at the pressure regulator and was able to come back a couple days later to repair for a fair price. However it turned out that it was not my only leak, he installed a cut off valve right where the water line enters the house and was able to determine that the big leak was in pipe between the main and the house. He is now coming by this week to replace that line, will post and update after that fix as well. Thanks Dan!

We had Dan come and replace an outdated toilet for a ADA toilet, to make the quality of life easier for Grandma. The old toilet only 15 in height, was a task for Grandma to sit and stand. Dan installed a 17 bowl height toilet, and we have a 2 high bidet on it adding it to just shy of a 20 toilet seat height.
Dan came in, assessed the job, and went right to work. He's definitely the guy, as he assembled, installed and operated to ensure no issues. Dan was right on time, was great about prepping his area where he was working and cleaned up nicely. Dan responded quickly and asked me follow up questions about the job I needed done to give me a ballpark estimate that same night. This is the first thing that stood out to me considering some of the other responses I received. Well wife decided to redo the kitchen so we have new countertops New drawers new kitchen sink and didn't anticipate the plumbing issues involved with a sink of greater depth than we had previously. The kitchen looked great but couldn't use sink or new dishwasher. Called Dan on Saturday he was out Monday and within 2 hours, our new kitchen was back in business. It was Kamehameha Day so he brought a helper in his young son who helped Dad was extremely polite and well mannered so you knew he was raised well. Highly recommend. Dan was thorough and inexpensive by my Oahu plumber experience standard.

Dan responded very quickly, he was able to squeeze us in right away. He gave us a solid price, no hidden costs or hazy estimates. Dan was very patient when he had to wait at Home Depot to pick up our heater. They promised it at 7 am and it was not ready at all at 2 pm. If you're on the west side, give Dan a call.

The tech was excellent but make sure you get a quote in writing, i was quoted $140 for one toilet bit while the tech was here i had him look at a couple of other things, he texted his boss a couple of times and a little hesitation about whether i would get the extra work done, we agreed on $250 and this was stated clearly. I only had enough cash for the original quote so after the job was done, i paid $140 in cash and offered to either go with the tech to the atm to get the remaining balance of $110 or put it on my card. We both confirmed clear as day that the remaining balance was $110. He said his boss would send me an invoice. About a week later, i get an invoice for $135, i asked his boss to talk to the tech because that was not the agreed on price but of course he says that's what the notes say. I didn't agree on that price so how can i be overcharged.

My water heater started leaking, but I only found out because water started seeping up below my kitchen floor. I noticed this on Sunday. Monday morning I called Dan and he came out the same day.
With Dan's help I bought a water heater online from Lowes, that Monday night
The heater was finally ready for pick up Wednesday night. I immediately texted Dan who texted me right back that night and said he could come over the next morning!!
Dan went and picked up the heater at Lowes and came over on time this Thursday morning!! He quickly installed it in no time!!!

Dan was called by my flooring installer completely last minute to not only pick up...but install a new Toto toilet. My building is majorly mismanaged and would not pay for snaking of pipes in the common wall - even though sink has been clogged for days and days. It is Carolyn Unser board member and Karen Guerrero from Management Specialist Company who are refusing to service my unit.

So I had to call my own plumber. Dan came on the same day, as soon as he could, he let me know when, he snaked it, it got unclogged fast, and the price was reasonable, and he is very professional and I am VERY happy with his service.

Dan did a great job with replacing two 15+ year old toilets and a 15+ year old shower head that wasn't even putting out water due to calcium buildup from not being used. He and his helper hauled away the old toilets after which was extremely helpful since I don't own a truck. He arrived on time and didn't charge extra for the fact that he had to drive to a bunch of places trying to find a part that he needed to fix the water pressure in the shower. Very responsive via yelp, which is hard to find with labor workers who either don't respond or take hours/days to respond. He accepts credit card. Very reasonable prices. I'd definitely contact him again for any future plumbing issues (hopefully won't have to though).

I had a problem with the kitchen sink leaking and tried calling a couple of other companies, who weren't available to schedule for a couple of days. I just had Dan the plumber do a hot water and main water shut off valve replacement located in my water heater closet. The original one were the round turn knob type called gate valves. Those tend to leak a lot if you turn them off or on a few times. Sometimes the leak never will stop unless you place the packing inside. I decided to have my leaky gate valve replaced with the handle type sit off valves call ball valves. They are more dependable to me against future leaks. Dan finished the entire job just about an hour. He works very fast and efficient. He communicates very well and replies back to all my messages in rocket fast time. So far so good and I'm so glad that my leaky water shut off valves are now replaced.

I had a water heater that needed to be replaced and a strainer basket swapped out. After calling numerous plumbers, I decided to go with Dan Does Plumbing. He quoted me a flat fee and told me exactly what he was going to replace. He also told me I could purchase my own heater and he would pick it up, install it, and remove the old tank. Other plumbers provide their own tank, costing more than if I purchased it myself.

Dan showed up on time and began working. He expertly disconnected my old heater and installed new hoses on my water line. The process was smooth, without any problems. Less than 90 minutes later, I had hot water again. Dan also replaced the strainer basket from my kitchen sink. The nut was cross-threaded and made the removal very difficult. After a couple of attempts, Dan was able to remove the old strainer and installed the new one. Before leaving, Dan cleaned up the area and disposed of the trash.

I'm glad I decided to go with Dan Does Plumbing. He is courteous and his work is professional and neat. I was also the very first person to be given a magnetic business card. Mahalo, Dan.

I emailed dan off the yelp app, He replied within 20 minutes!! I needed to replace my garbage disposal, he quoted me a price $125 if I buy the disposal or $250 if he buys the disposal (Badger 5) model. I told him to purchase the disposal and we agreed to the $250 for the job . He then asked what day and time would I prefer, opted for the following afternoon he promptly accommodated my schedule . Highly recommend! I had a clogged kitchen drain behind the wall and our regular snake was not doing the job. I found Dan's business on yelp and requested a quote and he responded very quickly and I got an appointment right away.

Dan showed up when we expected him to, and he fixed our clogged drain and more!! He replaced our p-trap that our previous plumber had installed and wasn't draining our sink properly.

Dan's pricing is extremely reasonable and affordable. He did a great job and he's super pleasant to talk to. My bf hates when strangers come over, but Dan won him over talking about sports and other things they have in common (super big plus!)

He did not come to assess my toilet leak visually. He diagnosed over the phone that I should get a new toilet by asking the age of my home. He assumed that everyone can afford major repair jobs and is able to spend money during this pandemic. Poor service and I would not recommend this company. I found someone else that did the job without having to buy a new toilet.

He did answer my request in a timely manner. However he was texting and driving. I hope he doesn't kill someone next time.

He replied with a very petty response! There are much more professional companies out there that I would rather deal with... don't waste your time with this one.

Dan responds quickly...A+ for that! I had wanted him to look at the dishwasher (possible) pipe leak, as the last two times it was used the floor started buckling to the side of the dishwasher and the new garbage disposal wasn't working. I was quoted $125. My adult son came to my house to meet Dan who was about 40 minutes late, and he found the garbage disposal plug came loose (wow, I feel pretty dumb checking all breakers and not the plug, lol) but neither of the men could operate the dishwasher, so while I was on the phone with my son trying to be the go-between, I asked if Dan could clear two slow drains upstairs (in the same bathroom) which he did. Then he buzzed out the door saying he couldn't diagnose the leak issue if the dishwasher wasn't working. As soon as he left I asked my son to check the delay function and sure enough, the dishwasher was on a delayed cycle. My son ran to the door but Dan was pulling away. I messaged but he answered a few minutes later saying he had 3 other jobs to get to that day and could come back another day. Last night my invoice came and it was DOUBLE the quote: $250 - that's $10 per minute at my house! Dan's reply upon my questioning the charge is that he charges $125 per drain. Wow, maybe I'm out of touch with plumber pricing...I'll let you the consumer be the judge. If the dishwasher issue could have been fixed I would feel the price was worth it, but now I have to wait to get that job done and will be calling someone else to do the job.

This has nothing to do with plumbing, but has everything to do with the man behind the name...I purchased a large shelving unit from Home Depot, and was in the process of wrestling the very large, heavy box into my car. Dan was polite, honest, and knowledgeable. When he came by to fix my leaking shower, I expected a huge bill because all the other plumbing companies quote me double the amount. Anyway, he inspected my shower cartridge and he told me he could save me a lot more money and not take out the existing material because it's still good. He replaced my cartridge and boom.. no leak. He went to see my other shower and he told me I don't need to change it if it's not broken. But I insisted in changing it. He was honest to save me a buck, but I was adamant in changing it. I don't want to have another leaky shower like my other one. So he changed it.

I do recommend him to go and fix anything with plumbing. I will use him next time. God forbid not an emergency call though....

Dan and his crew, Reggie and another guy, I didnt get his name, came in and helped fix a leaking shower issue we had.

Dan was the first to visit the house, take a look at our situation and give us a reasonable estimate which is free.

The following day he got back to us after talking to his crew and set us up with an appointment two days from the call and Reggie showed up on the dot when Dan said he would be there.

Reggie walked me through the work he was going to do and even as they were working. He even helped me regrout some of my tile outside of the bathroom because he had a lot of extra to spare and noticed I needed to fix that too.

In the end I was very happy with the work they did. They were all very professional and worked quickly and efficiently.

Highly recommended and I will be sure to use theor service again if I ever need it.

Dan recently did an emergency plumbing job for a neighbor in Ocean Pointe, then swung by to flush my hot water heater. Discovered it was time to replace it-

Got Dan's name from a friend....called about a squeaking toilet in the ADR. He answered the phone right away and was able to accommodate an appointment for the next day! awesome.
Dan came with an apprentice and I was impressed with his style and how he helped the apprentice learn while replacing toilet stuff (sorry, I took ROTC instead of shop in HS!)....
They were fast and efficient. No more talking toilet! Very reasonable and we even chatted a bit after about life. We both want to retire to the Philippines one day! So darn cheap there.

I highly recommend Dan Does Plumbing. It was a pleasure doing business with Dan from the get go. I had the Board of Water Supply out to look at a leak in my yard near my sidewalk. They determined that it wasn't their responsibility. I called Dan and he asked me to text a picture of the leak in my yard and he was able to diagnose the problem and he gave me a quote right then via text.
Once he was on site he saw that there was more to it and the new price quote was very reasonable. Upon further work it was determined that the leak WAS actually coming from the Board of Water Supply's valve box and pipes. Dan was very knowledgeable about what to do next and suggested that we file a claim to get reimbursed for the small amount he charged us for the service call. Thank you, Dan!

Needed a simple fix and my husband was willing to pay for it because what he tried failed. We called everywhere near us on yelp and nobody answered their phone. Sometimes those great reviews get me thinking, why not answer our call too! At this point we needed anyone that was still open past 5pm.

Found this company and it said closed at 6. Address is in Wahiawa so, I didn't expect much because we live all the way in Ewa and of course nobody wants to battle the traffic. I tried anyway. To our luck, we actually got someone!

I asked if he would be able to come out and he asked where. I said Ewa and he just asked what the issue was. I didn't know as I was just helping my husband so, I gave the phone to him. We didn't have water for the past hour because it had to be left off or else it was just an insanely powerful flow into the garage.

It didn't sound like he was going to come out to our house... better yet... he just listened to my husband and told him the right thing to buy that can fix it. It literally saved us so much money and time.

They say there are 2 things that are certain in life...death and taxes. I say there are 3...death, taxes and leaking plumbing! I've tried 4 different plumbing companies in the past which all ended in disappointment. Then I discovered JMAC Plumbing and used them for years only to discover they have closed permanently. So I searched on Yelp and read the great reviews for Dan. Dan answered my call right away and then 2 days later came to assess the situation. The hot water valve behind my bathroom vanity was leaking and he said the sink faucet needed to be replaced. He said to buy a new faucet over the weekend and would return on Monday to install it and perform the repairs. Clifford from Dan's team arrived on Monday...very punctual (in fact he came early) and was so professional! He changed out all the old rusty valves not only in my bathroom but also in my kitchen. Because of the leak on the valve and the rusty line, the hot water barely flowed out before. Thanks to Dan and Clifford, the bathroom faucet works great now! And there are no leaks anywhere! The price for the repairs and the faucet install was very reasonable. I highly recommend Dan and and his team for your plumbing repairs and installations!!!

I needed a bathroom shower renovation from a double valve to a single valve system so I sent out a request for plumbers in Yelp. Dan Does plumbing was one of the plumbers to respond and gave a very good estimate for the job.

Dan is very busy, but was able to squeeze my job into his busy schedule today. He was able to convert my hot and cold valves to a single Delta valve with out demolishing my bathroom tile wall. He even put in a quick access panel behind the shower for easy future access to the piping.

My water heater was very old. This morning when I went to get my aunty's water ready to wipe her down, low and behold there was no hot water.

Jumped on YELP and went down the list and the 1st guy couldn't help me today. Dan Does Plumbing came up 2nd and he came across as a very positive business owner. He said that he could help me as there was a cancelation today. He explained what his fee was (which seemed very reasonable to me) and gave me the instructions to order the water heater.

Dan and his worker showed up within the scheduled time which to me is a big deal. It shows me you solved your last issues and are good with your time management.

I also like that he hires and trains these apprentices. He has a good teaching style and they seem to get along well too. He speaks nicely to them and no belittling of the employee. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Water heater replaced. Oh no! We hit a huge bump in the road... no electricity running to my water heater. He checked all the electrical current for me. I told him there was no noise this morning when I went to check the heater. Ummm, yeah, Don't be like me and not tell him. Oopsie! But anyways, I still needed to replace the water heater.

Dan connected me with someone who was readily available to come change the wiring so my newly installed water heater would work.
That fellow came in a timely manner and got my old wiring all fixed up.

I'm very pleased with Dan Does Plumbing and have added him to my contacts and will definitely be calling him for future plumbing issues.

At first, Dan was responsive and attentive to what I was asking. But unfortunately Dan was unable to assist me and my clients with what we needed and seemed to be basic plumbing. I applaud his replies in a timely manner but I can't recommend this company for any plumbing needs when they are unable to actually perform in a timely manner.

-If you look at Dan's reply to me, it is very unprofessional. As YELP encourages us to give honest and accurate reviews. I do not feel that this is a Plumbing Company who can perform the work needed in a timely manner. If you have a FULL schedule, maybe you should consider hiring more staff so you can accommodate? It is a very valid reason for knocking a couple stars off of a review in my honest opinion, and again YELP is here for us to give our honest opinions about our interactions with a service provider about the service they are providing. My parents had an overnight mishap that was suspected to have been a leak from the garbage disposal. Since I was no expert in the area, I started to reach out to plumbers via yelp. Dan was one of the first to respond. Instead of offering work by the hour or a service charge or fee for an estimate, he offered a flat charge and 2 options. He could even accommodate my parents the same day and provided a precise time frame. Although Dan himself didn't do the repair, Nalu, according to my parents, did a wonderful job. He replaced the unit that came with the original house over 40 years ago, older than even himself, with an up to date Badger unit. There's no more water and I have happy parents. Would recommend to others.

I just had Dan over to snake a blockage in the pipes to my bathroom sink that was causing a back up. Dan responded quickly to my inquiries on yelp and offered a fair price for the job and was able to schedule me in a couple of days since it wasn't an emergency. They showed up early on the day of and got the job done right away without trouble. Masks were worn the whole time they were in my home. I'll be sure to call again should I need any future plumbing services!

What I like about Dan is that he responded to my call right away when I needed help with a leaking water heater. He and his assistant did a very thorough job picking up my new water heater from Home Depot, removing and hauling away my old heater, and installing my new one with new fixtures at a reasonable fee. What stands out about him and his assistant is that they are extremely hardworking and efficient. I really appreciate their excellent service!

Dan and his crew installed two toilets and fix a sink leakage in my kitchen. they did an awesome job. I wish I could have found this company sooner. I work with other handyman/contractors before and this company was a pleasant to work with. Dan and screw was on time, very professional, well detailed, and organized. I look forward in calling Dan in any home improvement job I will have in the future.

Dan is really knowledgeable and a very good plumber. He cleared our clogged drain quickly and it works great. Doing business with him was easy. He was the only plumber that responded with a price quote via the Yelp app. Although, I included pictures, all of the other plumbers requested to see the tub in person, prior to providing a quote. His quote seemed reasonable and we decided to give Dan a try. We couldn't be happier! Great guy and will plan to use him in the future. I highly recommended Dan

I had to replace my 14 year old 80 gallon water heater due to leaking and rust issues. I decided to go with Dan because of all of his great reviews and his experience in changing water heaters. He quoted me his price on Yelp, and I was able to get an appointment with Dan the next business day.

Dan arrived right on time and finished the job in about an hour with no issues. He even hauled away my old 80 gallon, so I didn't have to deal with that.

I liked how responsive and easy it was to get a quote from Dan, and how easy it was to schedule with him. Dan is a straight-forward, no nonsense type of guy who will tell it like it is, and will give you an honest quote and won't nickel and time you. And he will tell you that, too. He even told me how to maintain and flush out my new water heater once a year so I don't have to call him and spend more money for an easy job.

Dan is the man, and I will be contacting him for my future plumbing needs.

We had a shower valve leak that needed a valve cartridge replaced. Dan was recommended so we went with it (shower valve leak = no shower) so it was somewhat of an emergency... He sent someone (I wasn't home but my adult son was) who my son says had to YouTube how to remove the valve cartridge...needless to say, #1 He never turned off the water supply and #2 Apparently YouTube didn't work for him because rather than removing the old valve cartridge properly, well...lets just say, he turned a $300 job into an $1800 job (was forced to find someone else) and then...AND THEN...had to audacity to tell me that his boy did everything right and SWEAR at me on top of that...I never used any 'language' during our conversation, yet he kept trying to talk over me when I tried to explain that the shut off valve in the bathroom is BEHIND a panel but the panel was NEVER removed (my resident manager and I had to CUT the panel free) SO...I DON'T CARE HOW MANY reviews gives him KUDOS...his BUSINESS ETHICS are LESS THAN POOR...to say the least!

I got quotes from several different plumbers and ended up selecting dan because the quote was very competitive and he he had perfect reviews. I was not disappointed. He showed up on time and finished the job in 30 minutes. The final invoice was actually less than the quote. Highly recommended.
