***Update***
I had decided to use a different company after the toilet started leaking again, but my husband wanted me to go with them, so they could fix what they didn't do correctly. After all we had invested in getting the septic emptied because of their advice - and extra almost $200 that didn't fix the problem.
Anyway - I called today and they sent a different worker out he righted the ugly grouting job and found that the water was coming from the tank and not the base of the toilet and we are back in business. The first worker was nice, even though the job wasn't done well, and this guy seemed even nicer.
So - would I use this company again - yes, and I do recommend them for fast reasonably priced service.
_______________________________________________________________
I thought I had given this company a review, and came back to update it and am glad I hadn't previously reviewed their work. I can't recommend using this company, yes they came fast and prices sound reasonable but - your better off paying more for quality work. We had issues with our toilet leaking/moaning and the shower, well kind of whistling and the tub leaked. There were also back up issues, just water wise no sewage. And I had asked if he could grout the toilets for us. Workers suggestions, empty septic tank, replace toilet guts, and he grouted the toilets for us. Well - as to the grout job: terrible!!! My husband had used shims when he replaced the toilet to stop it from rocking, when their worker grouted one of the toilets he pulled the wooden shims out but left the plastic ones in - and they were sticking out of the grout which just looks terrible. I can excuse it from my husband - he is a teacher not a plumber. But when you pay to have something done your expectations are for better work. As recommended we had the septic tank emptied. No - the toilet doesn't moan and longer, the shower still whistles, although not as much - but less than a month later and I the toilet is once again leaking.
The worker was friendly enough, price reasonable - but spend your money more wisely using another company as we now have to find another company to fix what Mike Scott Pluming didn't.

I have had Mike Scott out twice because drains were clogged and no one else could come out as quick. Both times I paid and was told the problem was solved. Both times I had to have them out again the next day for the same problem. I paid $75 for the service call both times (plus all the extras) because they have no guarantee. This company is good for a short term emergency solution but call someone else to truly solve the problem.

Kitchen sink stopped up and called Mike Scott for repair. The person sent was nice and polite. 2 days later stopped right back up. Went and bought the snake and did it myself. 330.00 wasted but lesson learned.
We recently purchased a 2 1/2 year old home in the Villages. I recently had Mike Scott Plumbing out to see why I was having water back up into the bathtub and toilet when we ran the washing machine. The tech said it was probably just a blockage in the line. He ran the snake in and said that would take care of the issue. I paid them $200. The next time the washing was run the same thing happened again. I called them back and was told I would have to give them my credit card again for another charge because they don't guarantee their work for that. No one even checked to see if this could be an issue with the back flow valve being faulty, they just expect me to keep paying $200 every few days I guess. Very poor service!!!!

I will never use again. 2 young men came out after back up in toilets and showers one came in after running a snake around 4 feet in to say nothing was wrong. The flushed my toilet said all good charging 154.00 for doing nothing. Called company back because we still have issues was told it was good when they left something must have clogged 2 days later so would be full charge. Horrible company to do business BEWARE
Called Mike Scott to replace a toilet and install a faucet in one of my rental properties. I provided the material. The guy comes out (Day #1) and replaces the toilet. He leaves at about 2:30. I go over to check on it and I notice the faucet that I provided is on the floor. He literally, picked it up off the toilet and set it on the floor.
I called the next day and they came out again.
When I get the bill I am charged $87.00 for each trip, labor for each trip AND for the material that I provided...
I called a spoke to a manager that was the most arrogant person I ever spoke to in a service environment. Horrible experience - never again

We recently had a potentially house damaging episode when one of our outside spigots and pipe failed and water seeped into the rear bedroom. Carpet and baseboards ruined. we called Mike Scott Plumbing and a plumber was here within hours! Professional, courteous and thorough. We highly recommend this business.

my girls . Sums it up. This place should be looked into. Go elsewhere folks. Need a plumber Mike Scott should not even be a consideration.
We called for a septic tank service and when the tech arrived he left a door hanger and never knocked or rang the doorbell. When I called I was told that the tech said he knocked, which was a false statement. I then spoke to.Casey, who identified himself as the boss, and he used profanity with me and refused to listen to my complaint. I will NEVER use Mike Scott again. They're liars and unprofessional.

I don't relish writing bad reviews, I much prefer giving a company kudos. I called Mike Scott Plumbing because my toilet was backing up. They sent a guy who was polite enough but spent a long time trying to find the problem and could not find it. After several hours, he gave in and called his supervisor. The supervisor said he could be at my home in 15 minutes. I waited almost an hour for him to arrive. He went over everything the first guy had done. Hell, I had even already pulled the toilet myself, to make it easier for them when they arrived! Then the supervisor Keith broke out the sewer camera, and spent a good deal of time trying to find an issue. They both remarked how clean and clear the plumbing pipes appeared. There were no leaks, no blockages, no roots, no cracks, no buildup. Eventually, they came up with a theory - maybe the pipes under the foundation had shifted and need to be re run. That's the only thing I can think of.
They suggested the repair would best be claimed on my homeowner's insurance, as it would require accessing the pipes through the interior floor, through the foundation. The supervisor promised he would get back to me with 1) a video copy of the camera inspection for my insurance company, and 2) a detailed listing of the work required and a cost estimate. The supervisor said he would have that to me in 2 days. That was 34 days and three phone calls ago. No calls, no estimate. Just promises that someone will get back to me, and a statement from their business answering service person letting me know that Mike Scott Plumbing does not do any type of insurance work - a detail oddly omitted by both techs when they suggested I call my homeowner's insurance company.
So, I paid for their service, they could not remedy the problem. I do not have the promised detailed estimate, nor the video of the camera inspection of the pipes, both of which I need for my insurance company. And no one is responding to my calls. Meantime I'm out one bathroom.
I asked for the supervisor Keith's number so I could call him directly. Nope. Ditto for the tech they sent.
Neither tech wore a mask in my home, or asked if I would prefer they did.
Based on my experience with Mike Scott Plumbing, I would not recommend them to a friend.
These guys were a joke. Insisted on doing the same thing others did that didn't work when asked well when it don't work you gonna come out and do what I asked and highered you to do they tell me it's not warranty it and it would cost me another charge. So I ask do snake where I asked and they refused. DEFINITELY DO NO RECOMMEND....
Tree roots in pipes, these poor guys worked sooo hard cutting at them they actually bent saw blade & had other tools almost break. Very polite, knowledgeable & they even called out supervisor who showed up quickly. I am actually quite irritated that people keep bringing up the mask bs; seriously?? When dealing with sewage all day, I'm sure these guys know how to stay protected. Oh, and for anyone that makes such an uneducated comment...they need to get informed asap: bitchute.com/video/2Rwlg…
Thanks again Mike Scott Plumbing !!!!

Called and was given a 3hour window to which the plumber showed up an hour late, no notification, no apology. Plumber couldn't turn off water at meter so he couldn't do the job. He then proceeds to hand me a bill for $87! He did NOTHING! I paid and immediately called the business to lodge a complaint. I was given the money back, but only after my discussion with a condescending manager. I would not recommend this business.
I needed a plumber in a hurry! I called in the morning and I had 2 new faucets installed by 4pm. Don the serviceman was kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Everyone at Mike Scott Plumbing treated me with respect. The job was done quickly and reasonably.
My only negative was that no one was wearing a mask. The country is fighting a virus my mother is 86. I would hope they could be more careful during these bad times.
Mike Scott plumbing is one of the best in 4 county's on time hard work not expensive. Problem solver and can do anything that needs to be done the first time out. No overtime charges for nights and weekends. Try them you will not regret it!
Mike Scott plumbing did some work to my hot water heater. They never called to schedule me after I was referred to them by Duke Energy. I have to call them 11 days later. They came out and did some repairs but missed the water leak. When I called back the next they - they were rude and gave me a hard time. I'm a pretty reasonable person with appropriate expectations from people who do work for me. Wasnt good. Try someone else first.
I called a few hours ago and my problem is already solved.
Not only was the lady who answered the phone very polite and on the ball, They sent someone out very fast.
The man that fixed the issue was very professional!
I have used this company before and if I have issues with my plumbing I will be using this company again!

What a low life. His guy didn't install my RO unit correctly and it flooded
my kitchen. After a month of excuses he is trying to blame us. Our
proof is in fact one of his own men who said it was the original installer's fault. As soon as this company found out the extinct of the damage
involved, they blamed us. Don't use this company as they are inept, irresponsible and dishonest.
I hired Mike Scott Plumbing to fix my water heater recently. They came out twice & thought they'd resolved the issue. Unfortunately, they hadn't but did give me a full refund. I appreciated their professionalism.

What should have been a simple fix turned into a 6 week joke. Not very good at all, I will stick to Meeks Plumbing for all of our needs in future.
Mike Scott plumbing gets zero writing from us zero in zero out in mid January of this year
The builder that built our home
Called this company for a plumbing problem upon arriving the supervisor who came told us our home was built on top of mud pile...
Said it since we didn't call for them to come out and we had no idea of the problem with the dirt in the rain and there would be no bill. And
He would have someone Snake out Plumbing
That there be no charge ::;;;;;;;Also
saying that the dirt so bad it will see him again,, sure enough two months later with the rain we had to call them again
After Being lies to
Sure enough 4 mos later Receive your original bill we had no idea it was answer
Customer service is not lies and deceit
That's what you have to look for dealing with this vendor
No one wants that whenever he's in again ever I suggest you do the same
Based on some good reviews I called in reference to my sprinkler system.
After having a fence installed it didn't work because a wire must have been broken when installing the posts. They sent someone out the same day and after about 1.5 hrs. he found the valve box but he couldn't find the broken wire. He said it would be more cost efficient if he ran a new wire and would prepare an estimate. The estimate was for $814.00 !
I was shocked, I said that much to run a low voltage thermostat wire from one side of the house to the other? He said he would have to run the wire under the driveway and it's a two man job. I said forget it and had to pay him $166.00 for his time.
I decided to investigate the problem myself and found the broken wire right next to the valve box and repaired it in 15 min. Obviously he didn't want to find it and just wanted a big sale.
I don't like contractors who try and take advantage of people and would advise anyone who needs their irrigation system repaired to find someone else.

Called around 9:30 am on Monday morning. After the recent rain, my toilets were draining slowly, and my tub was making a gurgling noise while draining. By 1:30, their tech, Messiah, was on the job at my house. He quickly and efficiently found my septic tank lids, emptied the tanks, and cleaned the filter. In less than an hour he was done. Reasonable price too. Highly recommend.
Pricing issues. Most service providers charge a fee for a house call. The fee is then applied against the first hour of labor. Not so with Mike Scott Plumbing. They charge a service fee plus an hourly rate which starts at immediately, so for example for one hours work you pay a service fee of $90 plus an hour at $90.

Awesome customer contact team (really smart and efficient) from the start of the call. Upon arrival, within an hour(!) the service personnel was top notch, and the price was unbeatable. I have recently worked with several contract companies for multiple services and this one should be the model service for everyone! AND all seemed to ENJOY their job! What more could you want?
OVERPRICED and NOT responsive. Charged $140 for 5 minutes of work. In the past they seemed fair....but not anymore! FIND ANOTHER PLUMBER!!!!!!!!
I own several rental properties in Ocala and needed to get the septic system pumped on one of my rentals. Mike Scott Plumbing was able to come out within an hour of my initial phone call and clear out the tanks. The customer service representative I spoke with was very informative and helpful. I am extremely impressed by the level of service I received from Mike Scott Plumbing. Pricing was very reasonable and the level of service is top notch.

Very poor service. We waited for a part for over a week and a half. We were told it would be two days to get the part, when we called about the issue they did not respond to our phone call. I would not recommend them.
Had a Pump problem they looked at it ,15 minutes later gave me a bill for over $100 and said they don't do pumps ,if water runs through it they don't do it ,it's very sad, everywhere you look people just like screwing other people here in Florida
Mike Scott plumbing is the best plumbing I will definitely call them the next time the crapper breaks

We had them to come out to fix our toilet and I thought it was fixed and then it started leaking again. Called them and they said they didn't touch the specific part that was leaking, even though they did and wanted to charge me again and told me I was lying.
Ocala service providers are just a joke. Calls, emails go inanswered. Must be independently wealthy.

We saw good reviews and called Mike Scott Plumbing due to our hot water heater not delivering hot water. The water was luke warm. It seemed warm for a moment and then it would go cool. The first time they came out, they said it was due to an electric power surge that threw off a master temperature switch. They tested with their hand to see if the water warmed in our kitchen and it was and told us it was fixed. Unfortunately, the next morning we had luke warm/cool showers again. We called back again and they came out and they did not charge us a service fee to return, just for parts. The repair guy they sent out seemed very bewildered. First, he said it might be our electric saver on our circuit box that might be turning off our water heater to save power. We might need to call our power company. (Huh?) Then he said our water heater was only putting off 120AMPS instead of 240. He had to call another technician to ask questions and realized he was reading the amps wrong. We explained the tank wasn't that old. Then he said it was our heating elements, and he changed those and replaced 1 thermostat - just in case. He tested the water from the sink and said it was fixed. Next morning, luke warm/cool showers again. We couldn't believe it! My fiancé and I are not mechanical handy people and we want to trust that the professionals we hire know what they are doing. Two different technicians came out, that's two techs who had no freaking clue. They were very nice guys but apparently oblivious. After spending $200+, we couldn't immediately afford to keep plugging away at it and we felt like calling Mike Scott Plumbing back was futile. I mean, they just didn't inspire much trust in their skill set. We wanted to know where the techs were that inspired all these supposed great reviews. We just weren't going to give them anymore of our hard earned money. We just decided to take luke warm/cool showers for a while, which sucked. In an unrelated issue, yesterday morning I noticed a slow steady constant drip from one of our showers despite the handle being off. Google said it was a valve inside. We decided to call Jim Brady Plumbing and while they were fixing the shower - we also asked him to look at the water heater. He looked over our water heater and he said - well one of your thermostats isn't set. We asked, One of them, isn't there only one? The previous repairman replaced it. We told him the whole story. There are TWO! Two freaking thermostats on our water heater so what good does it do to replace only one? If that was even the issue to begin with. I Googled our model (yeah, the number is on the tank guys) and confirmed in the manual - there are TWO! I mean if I can Google, can't your techs? Guess what? We have hot showers - wonder of wonder, miracle of freaking miracles! Someone actually knows what they're doing and it took one trip and 15 minutes. Now, we are left with questions as to whether we've wasted money replacing elements and thermostats and draining the tank of water when all along, it was a setting or maybe it was just one faulty $10 thermostat. I mean would Mike Scott's techs ever fixed our water heater or would they just have made us replace it. Thankfully, we didn't have to find out. If you provide a service, send people who know what they are doing. Know your craft. And sure, you can come out again and again but if you can't fix the problem then it's moot. And we work, we don't have the time to sit in our house for repeated visits. $200 is a lot of money for us and it's not cool to take advantage of people. This is the digital age folks, reviews go everywhere and I hate leaving negative ones, I'm not a mean person but truth is truth. You either deliver on the promise or get called a liar. I will never give you any more of our money nor will I recommend you to anyone, and I know A LOT of people.

A friend called this company for me. Two guys showed up to find a leak. They dug a hole outside where the main shut off to the house was. Told me I needed a new valve, but did not fix it or offer to fix it. Then went inside the house to see if my toilets were leaking (they were not as they are brand new). They went to the very far side of the house/master bath and told me he could here a leak and it was somewhere in the master bath. Then went back outside, called said friend and decided to do a pressure test. After the test he now says I have a leak in the foundation on the hot water side. Now mind you this is a plumbing company and never offered to fix any of my so called plumbing issues. Just gave me a bill and a number to call a leak specialist. Now leak specialist are 300.00 to start!! Needless to say.....I have NO wall leak or foundation leak. This time I call a plumbing company. They come out and guess what? Found the leak right where Miks Scott's professional plumbers dug!! Mike Scott Plumbing is a waste of money and their office staff is very unprofessional!
Absolutely horrible customer service the lady employee Janice took our call and when we had an issue with an invoice that was promised to be waved being we would be using them to replace our drainage field. We wanted to speak to management or the employee that agreed to wave the invoice ,she refused to transfer the call unless be paid the invoice .To top it off she was extremely rude and did not care about the reputation of this company. This employee Janice did receive our payment and a forever lost customer along with a bad review for the company she works for.
They were rude from beginning to end. From the office to the plumber who came out to our house, looked under and said yep you got a leak, I can come back Wednesday and see if I can fix it then. Hello? we had already been without for over a week when they came out! Never ever again.

I called this company to fix a stopped up toilet, the tech came and I paid for the service come to find that the problem was not resolved. In fact the toilet was the same as before the tech got there. I notified to manager who was rude and I was informed that in order to get a tech out to fix the problem I already paid for I would have to pay them again for the same service. Please don't use this plumber unless you like to pay a lot of money for nothing.
