I have been using Island Plumbing for  6 years. I am very dissatisfied with their services. They are very expensive and totally undependable.

Recently I called to schedule a plumber 10 days ago. I called on a Monday they scheduled for 9:00 Wednesday. On Wednesday they called and asked rescheduled the same day between at 1-3 pm. instead of 9:00 am. They never showed on Wednesday between 1-3 pm. So I called and rescheduled for the first appointment the following Monday at 9:00 am. At 10:20 am the plumber still had not showed up.  After my 6 years of loyalty, you would have thought that Monday at 9:00 am they would have been at my door. But NOPE!

It's time to find a new plumber.

If you are looking for honest, trustworthy and fantastic customer service, then Island Plumbing is the place to go.  When I called them about my sink and bathroom problems, they were so thougtful and honest that they asked me to perform a couple of procedures over the phone to see if I could avoid having them come out.  What company in Miami ever does that?  Not only were they early to the appointment (another first for Miami), they fixed the problem quickly, efficiently and cost effectively.  They could have had me replace multiple parts, etc., but no, they said that wasn't necessary, it was an easy fix.  Honesty, integrity and just quality service from start to end whether it was with Rudy and the staff at the office or Ellis the plumber that arrived.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Positively the worst customer service, even by plumber standards.  Plumber damaged an electrical outlet while unclogging a drain, then failed to disclose it.  Once the fault was discovered, the receptionist stated three times, in three separate calls, that an individual would either come back out or call me, yet no one did.  Finally, on my fourth call, I was told by her that she spoke to the owner and that they would not come back out and that i should just deal with it with an electrician.  Look for an alternative, Key Biscayne residents - their performance is hit or miss, at best, it seems from other reviews.  It is a total miss in my case and may be in yours.

It saddens me to write this review, I just feel it's important for everyone to know what happened to me so it does not happen to others.  

On Friday, 4/18, I contact the office and explained in detail, that I was under contract for a property I was purchasing and needed a plumber to come with scope to provide a detailed report on the state of the pipes.  The contract deadline was Monday at 5 and I expressed that I would need a report that same day by 4PM.  An appointment was scheduled for 8AM Monday morning.

Regretfully, this past Monday, 4/21 the plumber arrived thirty minutes late to the 8AM appointment and without the proper equipment.  When I called the office back two hours later, I was told someone would be there by 1PM, but no one had reached out to my cell phone.  Had I not called, I wouldn't have known.  Not to mention, I was given the incorrect price for the work.

I went back to the property at 1PM, beginning at 1:30, I called the office over 6 times for the next 2 hours while I waited.

Aside from wasting my time, I did not have the information I needed and this situation may be costly for me in the future.

On Monday evening, I sent the owner a detailed email explaining everything that transpired.

If I do not hear back from them within a week, they will lose a 10-year loyal customer forever.  I am sad, disappointed and angry.  It will take quite some somersaults to fix this wrong.

Nothing like the shower running and you hear bubbles coming from the kitchen sink to brighten your day  Island Plumbing showed up and saved the day. The plumber that came to run the snake explained everything that was going on. He was thorough and very professional. He did not make a mess and stayed a few minutes to make sure everything was running smoothly. I highly recommend this company!

Good Morning

But I would like to tell you about a rather unpleasant situation I experienced with them. Our toilet was not properly functioning and they fixed it and we were told that this service was guaranteed for 3 months or 1 year if we bought their equipment.About 4 weeks later the toilet stopped working and we to get it check out. We were initially charged over $300 to fix it and today they found that the piece was dirty and they fixed it charging us an additional $94 when the service was supposed to be included as part of the guarantee of service. When I called the office a very rude person answered the phone she was very defensive and did not allow me to talk always overriding my concerns. I of course paid what they were demanding. But I can assure you I will never again in my life be utilizing this company as I feel that they are basically selling one service and offering something totally different. I feel I have been robbed by this company.I would seriously consider choosing a different company for plumbing issues because it would be a shame that others would have the same dreadful experience that my family has endured.

Simply put, do not use these guys. They charged $450 + Labor to install an $85 3/4 Pressure Regulating Valve. They were NOT upfront in initial discussion about the type of part that they would be installing, confirming over the phone that a 1.5 Inch part was needed.  A 429% mark-up is simply outrageous. Avoid like the plague.

We had a leaking toilet valve that needed repair at our building in Brickell. I called Island Plumbing and got an appointment the next day.  Gus showed up on time, fixed our problem in an hour, charged us a very reasonable amount, and was so kind and professional.  I highly recommend this company to anyone in downtown Miami that needs an honest, talented plumber!

Great company. They  came to my condo in north Miami beach to change my shower pan and they were extremely fast and clean. The guys working were very nice and always kept me informed on what was going on.  I would call them again for any other problems.

Absolutely terrible company. Sent various emails and spoke to Erica C. on the phone 1 week prior to arranging the appointment, to make sure the plumber can install the toilet and arrives precisely on time, because the building allows only a small window for the water-shut-off. I made that very clear. She said the plumber might take another job first but promised me that whatever happens, he'll be here at 10:30am at the latest and worst case she'll pull him out to make sure he arrives on time. The plumber NEVER arrived. After asking repeatedly what the issue is, Erica told us first that he had to take an emergency call after he was done with the first job and eventually she revised the story to he's still stuck with the original job. Asking her to pull him out (as she promised) she snapped back that this isn't an office job and there's nothing she can do for me anymore. In the end  nobody came, and there was zero remorse from their side. Next water-shut-off is in a month from now, so we're stuck with the current situation for a while. Thank you very much Island Plumbing, you showed very clearly that you don't care about your customers. Luckily the building management agrees that this is unacceptable behavior and as a consequence we have removed them from all future work in our building (and I will make sure this stays in effect).

Excellent service. I called yesterday and got an appointment for today. They called when the plumber was on his way and my hot water issue was fixed in under 15 minutes.  He tested the water multiple times to make sure it was working perfectly. Would definitely recommend to anyone in Miami.

I was really happy with this company; they (unlike other companies I called) have a receptionist who answered and was helpful very time I called. They also coordinated an electrician from their company (Island Power) to come out at the same time. I had a bad kitchen clog fixed and a garbage disposal put in at the same time; I was happy with both the repair and the disposal. I was also happy with the electrical work - I had to have the disposal electricity put in (it works great), and I also had a multi-bulb chandelier from Farrey's conk out post-warranty. Island Power fixed it without me having to buy and pay to install a whole new fixture. Plus, they came out to do an additional related fix for no charge a few days later. The company reps called to ensure all work was correct afterward. Highly recommend.

Terrible company, charged me nearly $2,985 to install a basic water heater. I didn't mind overpaying, but what I didn't like was the fact they finished up at exactly 5pm on a Friday and when they left there was no hot water, when I tried to call the company they were closed and now I have no hot water until Monday.

So feel free to use this company if you want to pay 2x the cost of normal plumbing work and have terrible results like me.

Hired to repair a water valve leaking. They arrived and said it was not a plumbing issue. Charged $130 for the call out. Should be half of what they charged for no work done. Never again using them.

Customer service has gone way down hill! I was stood up for a plumbing appointment to which I confirmed a day in advance. After taking work off, I called and they promised someone would call me back right away to reschedule...no such luck. I called again in the afternoon, same song and dance from them and yet no return phone call to apologize or reschedule. Very disappointing and unbelievably unprofessional with no regard for customer's schedules and busy lives. I do not recommend this company.

Overall horrible experience. Staff is giving out wrong information regarding prices. No one seems to know anything. And don't hold your breath for a response.
Not recommend AT ALL!!!  Go somewhere else where they will value your time and money.
