Had a list of things for plumber to do. Told them upfront exactly what they were. Plumber shows up with a helper and a big van. Uh-oh. Wanted a faucet exchanged on the outside, kitchen drain snaked and a new faucet put in bathroom. Guy brings in assistant tells him to work in bathroom while he goes outside. 45 minutes later he tells me he can't shut off water and will have to cap the outside faucet (rendering it useless) and tells me I have to call the county to fix the shut off from the street. (They came later and said it just had to be worked but there is no problem with it.) He then goes in bathroom and realizes his assistant has messed up and flooded my vanity and hasn't turned off the water (the house shut off valve) spends time dragging in a vacuum and block me from seeing the damage. Then goes outside to tell the assistant how to snake the drain...never gets it and eventually has to do it himself. The bathroom does get done but said the new faucet was too wide for the old hole and has to saw away the piece of tile to fit it in. This takes forever? And then says he will take a half hour off his fee and charges me $400. Not a pleasant experience. Will never use again. Assistant was obviously useless and time waster, not to mention needing to let my vanity dry out and still needing to deal with the outside faucet.

I was doing a project where I was tiling over an existing shower floor and needed a specific part and Lowes suggested I go to McGill Plumbing to see if they had it. When I went in to ask about a drain frame, the employee treated me as though I was an idiot. Instead of speaking to me to find out more about the issue and perhaps explaining an alternative or a reason why not to try to do it my way, he said, We don't carry those. We don't do it that way. We do it the right way. That was basically the gist of the conversation. Had he not acted annoyed and had been courteous and helpful, I very well might have asked McGill to come out and replace the pieces their correct way. I instead went to Ferguson Plumbing and the gentleman explained the process and offered information and, in the mean time, gained a loyal future customer.

On a Monday I called Apollo Plumbing to have a toilet flange replaced. An appointment was scheduled for Wednesday between 9 & 11am. Tuesday they called the technician had some sort of problem and had to push the appointment to Thursday between 9 & 11am, Wednesday they said the technician was running late and pushed it to Thursday between 2 & 4. Around 5pm on Thursday I was called to see if the technician showed up; he did not. I told them not to bother coming at I would call someone hopefully more reliable.
That is 1 week wasted waiting but at least it was a non emergency and I can cross Apollo off my list.

I called McGill after 9am on Friday and Kyle the plumber was at my house by 3pm. We needed a toilet reseated. Kyle was marvelous, clean and efficient, he replaced the flange, leveled the toilet and resealed it around the floor. The price was excellent as well. Very professional and friendly.
Thank you Kyle and McGill.

If McGill Plumbing was equipped with the manpower to sufficiently accommodate their customers, my 11 day leak would would have been taken care of the next day.

the did respond to evaluate the problem but lacked sufficient manpower to fix it for 11 day period. Leaving me with no kitchen sink for the Christmas holiday.

The skill level and craftsmanship by the repairman was outstanding but McGills seem to lack the manpower to provide prompt service.

ability to accommodate is flat out unacceptable.

I just had McGill make a toilet repair that I thought would cost hundreds of dollars. The plumber could easily have gone a more expensive route with the repair and it really would have been hundreds. Instead, he suggested a much less expensive alternative which would work just as well. It ended up costing a fraction of what we anticipated.

They were out within an hour of when I called, the plumber was polite and well-spoken. He explained what he was doing and why. He did the work quickly and with very little mess, which he cleaned before he left. This was the first time I have used them, I will call them without hesitation the next time we need a plumber.

Very pleased with customer service. Able to get service the day I called. Received a call when John was on his way. John was informative and made sure the job was done right. I feel he is conscientious. This company will be my go to place for honest and thorough work.

While watering the other day, my hose thingie broke off. Needed a plumber quickly. Called McGill - affordable, showed up on time and wearing a mask! Recommended them to my mother who had them fix her faucet a few days later. Highly suggest contacting them. Most of the folks in my area use them so we see their trucks often. Very pleased.

Can't say enough good things about McGill.

We had a leak outside, near our home, in the main feeder line to our our. We had turned the water off, so we had no water in our home.

Called McGill about 7:45 AM this morning, just before they opened. They returned our call by 8:10 AM. They said they could have someone here between 3:00-5:00 PM today.

We received a call around 12:45 PM saying they were through early and were on their way to our home. 2:05 PM, job completed, feeder line fixed, and water in our home.

THIS IS WHAT GREAT SERVICE IS!!!!!

We have used McGill Plumbing over the past 7 years and we have had exceptional service. We had Mike L. out the past two days to help with a big leak problem under the kitchen cabinets. He identified the problem, and worked for 4 hours to tear out the plumbing and replace an old (55yr) drain pipe that was cracked. Mike is knowledgeable, pleasant, and very professional. He solved our problem and could not have been nicer. He is really a credit to McGill. Thank you Mike, you are terrific!

We had a leak in our toilet tank. Called Monday; they came out on Tuesday morning. The tech was Chris and he was great. He came in; did the job; did it well and the cost was not too high. Thank you to McGill and Chris!

This has been our 'go to' plumbing company for years. Today determined our future plumbing company will be someone other then McGill.
Our 5 year old water heater was replaced today. McGill is who we purchased it from, and who installed it. It already had to be serviced for a leak within the past 5 years.

So today I was charged $145.00 an hour to install a new one, the same exact heater, which was on order because they no longer carried it, leading me to believe it was inferior to begin with. So yes, I understand it was under warranty, and I was not being charged for a new one, but the cost to install the same inferior item, without any regard for being a loyal customer, and an only 5 year old heater that already had to be serviced...I told myself that I would give them the opportunity to do the right thing, which should have been a discount of some kind, due to the fact the heater was only 5 years old, and had to be serviced within that 5 years, but they didn't. So my bill was $500.00+ today, and this ends our trust and confidence in this company.

When the Sewer line was being upgraded on my street, they (City of Clearwater) accidentally damaged my water line (from meter to house). No one was available to repair the damage; and since I had a meter valve and house valve.. for some odd reason... even though the house shut off valve outside - most likely was defective as you could not turn water on or off. So I told them to seal it off.... and install one inside of Utility Room where incoming main line water was located so it was easily accessible in case of emergencies. Rather than a Dial type Valve, I had a Handle valve installed. City of Clearwater paid for their damages and I paid for the valve upgrade. I had used McGill to repair Water Heater in 2001; as it was old - finally replaced the Water Heater in 2010. I RECOMMEND!

Clogged sink on Good Friday afternoon. Ugh!!! Turned down by 2 other companies! Called McGill and they said they would be right out. Ryan got to our home within 15 minutes. He was friendly and professional. He found the problem very quickly (it wasn't just in the trap). He went over and above to make sure he got the whole clog out from way down in the pipe system. He put everything back together and made sure everything was working properly. He even cleaned up! I am very grateful to Ryan and to McGill Plumbing. I will call them first from now on!!!!

It looks that they inflate the final cost by charging by the time they work on the job. They don't provide an estimate upfront so you don't know how much you pay. I will think twice before I hire them again.

Called for repair of broken water feed to our dock. Josh arrived on time, was efficient, professional, fair price, and discount coupon from web site. Used to being gouged by plumbers with crazy service fees and pie in the sky prices. Just found my new favorite plumber.

Our home was built in 1915, which means crawlspace and interestingly enough, through those many years, several different pipe materials. So, in looking about and doing my homework, with references, I settled on McGill to replumb under the home! (This was done after electrical rewiring and installing a new foundation) From the proposal by Ray to the work done by Joe, Kody and Steve and to the office support from Stacey and Jennifer, it was a slam dunk success!

Communication every step of the way, descriptions and pictures of old pipes to be removed, hours to shut the system off, etc.

It was done the way it was supposed to be done...prompt, personal and professional! Thanks McGill!!

It is so comforting to find a reliable quality plumbing company. And in McGill Plumbing we have found a reliable go to resource for our plumbing needs. Specifically, their employee Jack, has gone above and beyond in helping us. What a courteous young man. I would recommend McGill Plumbing for all plumbing needs as they are trustworthy, responsive, as well as providing stellar plumbing services. Definitely, five stars.

We had a 6 gallon an hour water leak that we couldn't find. John came out and tracked it down to the line between the meter and our house. He dug out the line, found the leak, replaced the line and added a new manual shut off valve at the house. All in the space of maybe 4 hours.

I was very happy with the job. John was friendly, professional and communicative. The rate was very reasonable.

I did mislead him at first thinking it was under the kitchen sink. John figured it out despite the goose chase. Much appreciated.

Highly recommend.

Had McGill Plumbing come out at the end of Dec. 2017. They put in a new Nuvo home water system and replaced some faucets, with a bill at just under $3,000.00. We were satisfied with the work and continued to purchase the water filters from them (at a price of approx. $100.00 each), and had them do other work. As we remain in our apartment only 3-4 months of the year, we only needed to change the filter once a year, per their instruction. Upon our first replacement filter, we were advised McGill's no longer sold the Nuvo system they installed and any contact with the Nuvo company we needed to make, should be done by ourselves. My husband replaced the filter, which they still sold. In 2019 and 2020, we went to them again and replaced the filter for the second and third time. Upon returning in Jan. of 2021, we purchased another (the 4th) filter from them. Upon getting ready to replace the filter, the entire unit and all of the plumbing they had installed, had come loose from the drywall. They had merely anchored the entire unit, plumbing, etc. into the drywall with two screws placed into the drywall and through the 2018, 2019 and 2020 years, it had become loose and was merely hanging by the plastic plumbing pipes they had installed. If, due to the weight of the unit, the pipes had cracked or leaked, it would flood the apartments below us.
My husband called them in January of 2021, and spoke with the manager Brett. It was explained we needed to have the unit reattached to the wall with a system that would not rely solely on a screw placed into some drywall, which after some limited use, became loose and ultimately, no longer held the unit to the wall. My husband suggested merely having a board attached to the wall, and the screws holding the heavy water system attached to the board. It would be minimally expensive and could be accomplished in probably a half an hour and ensure the system did not break the pipes and flood the unit and units below ours.
Brett, the manager, advised my husband they would not stand behind the corrected installation because it had been done 3 years earlier. We agreed it had been installed 3 years earlier, but the attachment to the wall had created a major problem and could be easily fixed, and since we had spent almost 3 thousand dollars with McGill's on this single visit (albeit, with add'l faucets purchased and installed), that we would think they would want to come out and correct the faulty installation. Brett stated he would not stand behind the installation in any manner as it was done 3 years earlier. When asked to speak with the owner, Brett indicated he made all the decisions and there would be no purpose to speak with the owner.
My husband let him know the initial installation had not been done correctly, and that was what needed correction. We had also previously suggested other people contact McGill's because we had previously used them and had been satisfied. Brett made it very clear, they would not attempt to correct the faulty installation. This is the first time I have EVER, in my lifetime, provided a negative evaluation of work done at a residence of mine, but I was very disappointed in the response, or lack thereof, that they wouldn't stand behind a sloppy installation and attach it correctly to the wall. Previously, all my interactions with them were fine, but this is poor management and gets a very low grade to ensure customer satisfaction regarding their poor workmanship!!

I am the owner of Body Flow Wellness in Clearwater. This company did a great job with a complex installation of 2 colon hydrotherapy machines. John installed my first one back in 2017. Joe & Steve installed my most recent machine. They all did a great job, was very professional & courteous! I highly recommend this plumbing business.

Had a kitchen sink leak last week. They came to the house and removed the under sink racks and tracks to evaluate the problem. When the new faucet arrived and a different technician came over to install it, he refused to put the racks and tracks back in place, in spite of having being asked to do so. He just said that because he didn't take them out he didn't have to put them back and he just left. We had to do their job and put them back ourselves!!
After many years of using McGill we're done with them!!

The man showed up without a mask and spit on my kid. He was there to fix a leaky faucet in my bathtub and kitchen sink, but instead he charged my wife $800 just to tell her that he cannot fix it and that we have to call a real professional. Go somewhere else.

McGill Plumbing...awful! Not like it used to be! New staff doesn't know how to treat long-standing customers. Does not stand behind the Kohler products they sell! Will not contact Kohler or provide any assistance in dealing with a defect. After you purchase...you are on your own!! Stay away! Fortunately, I called Kohler myself and they were terrific...replacement no problem. But McGill wants nothing to do customer service!

Our main sewer line backed up for the third time in three months. The first two times I rented a router from Home Depot and snaked it out, we sent a full 50 feet through from the roof vent and then back from the clean out by the street and the second time I got the electric version and sent 75 feet several times with each of the tips from the clean out (I couldn't get the big one up on the roof). Since all this lasted only a month at a time I felt it was time to get a professional out there to snake it with a longer and better snake and send a camera in to see what was up. I told them all this when I called and they sent Josh out. He sent the snake in 30 feet with the straight head felt a blockage at 15 feet horizontal, got through it and the water started running. At that point, 25 minutes in on a $165/hour minimum service call, he was ready to be done and said it was roots. I asked to put the cutter fitting on since I knew from my past experiences that this small hole was not going to stay open long. I also told him that when I snaked I felt other blockages farther up. He couldn't find the connector to attach the cutter head so put a grasper type thing on and fed that in. It stopped at the same 15 feet over and he couldn't get it past. Since I had gotten bigger fittings through last month this doesn't seem right but the cutter head was not available so I'm stuck with a small opening that will be clogged again shortly. At this point he thought it was not roots but maybe a lip in the pipe and suggested a camera for $250/hour. I'd asked about a camera earlier but apparently these services cannot be combined. All in all I was better off renting a router and doing a thorough job myself.

Hired to do job for an emergency, and didn't go well. These peps should be reported to who ever over sees companies, other the BBB.
If I know the rules and codes and laws about plumbing or HVAC then they should to. They have been around a long time. My father always said to use them. Not sure why but for us not a good experience.
I feel betrayed, ripped off and just unhappy with the job. If a company does a poor , not meeting codes job, refuse to pay and call police to handle safely until you can fight in small claims court. So many bad issues came from our experience.

Ok, had Mc Gill to the house a couple of day's ago. There was a major snafu from the previous owner having a deep sink & a washing machine drain line installed without traps. There was very little exposed piping or room to work.
Cody studied the problem then went to work bringing everything up to code.
It was a tough job he excelled at.
While here he also added a shutoff valve & a new line for the refrigerator ice maker.
Great worker, fair pricing.
McGill Plumbing are the only ones I'd ever call. I'm a happy camper

We've used McGill a number of times. They have a sales area also for counter sales. They've been in business since when the toilet was invented.

Service prices are reasonable. Ask for John M. He has been the best plumber so far. The experienced plumbers they use always seem to have a trainee with them. Keep an eye on the trainee - sometimes they do things incorrectly and the master plumber has to correct them.

That's why we like John M. so much. He keeps a close eye on his trainees and, by observation, he does a great job showing trainees how to do things right.

Oh, and did I say that their prices are reasonable?

We have been utilizing McGill Plumbing ever since 2006 and we are always pleased with their service. We called McGill on 10-3 in regards to our toilet not flushing properly. Their service tech Ryan arrived at our house the next day at approx 3:30. He was very friendly and explained what needed to be replaced. Ryan was upfront with only what needed to be done and only suggested another repair at a later date. About 45 minutes later Ryan was done and our toilet operates like new. McGill has always treated us fair and today was no different.

I've gone up to 3 stars on this review because of the professionalism shown by the rest of McGill. After reaching out to the office, VP Scott came out to speak with me in person and was very professional in handling my concerns with my plumbing experience. The storefront manager was very helpful, everyone else I spoke to on the phone was courteous and professional, and I believe my plumbing experience does not reflect the rest of the company and I believe it was handled appropriately on their end. Thank you.
