After horrible experiences with 2 other companies, I had Frank Gay come out to inspect my leaking drain pan.
He was on time, the person who came out to look and see what was wrong was honest and upfront about the issue and why the previous fix by another company didn't work. He was able to provide me a quote for a new system so we didn't have a high pressure salesmen appointment, and they replaced it NEXT DAY!
The technician was nice and professional. The electrical work was completed timely by their electrician. The price was reasonable and when he said this is the price out the door it was. No hidden things or gotcha moments when they found something else to upcharge you and you had no choice
Thank you! You just earned my business and the business of our rental properties as well.
Hopefully things will continue on this way and we will have a long mutually beneficial relationship!
Had a plumbing problem in our kitchen that we couldn't fix. Called Frank Gay up around 8pm. They called back within 15 minutes and someone came the next morning at 9am. Ron was very nice and told us before he started how much it was going to cost. He fixed the problem right away and gave us pointers so we wouldn't have the problem again. Very helpful.
This is the third or fourth time I have dealt with Frank Gay Services and each time they have been prompt, professional and reasonably priced. I have always been impressed !! Each service rep has been thorough and the job was always top notch. Just this morning, though, I had occasion to call them out again for a check up on my downstairs a/c unit that wasn't cooling properly. Roger came out, with another senior service rep to service the unit. I don't recall having met a more professional, friendly and kind service representative than Roger. I have a special needs son who was quite vocal and engaging the entire time Roger was here and while someone else may have been disturbed, Roger was nothing but kind and understanding. He is truly an asset to this company and really went out of his way to show his kindness. Thank you, Amy, too, for all your help in the past ! Thank you, Mr. Gay, for keeping up the great service and excellent employees !!
Can't recommend them for electrical services. The initial consultation was positive: The technician did not try to up-sell products or services and their price came in below that of Mr. Sparky, so it was an easy choice for me to go forward with Frank Gay. Once the technician came back to do the work it has gone downhill from there.
It was obvious that the tech was rushing to get the work done as soon as he came in, which is fine as I know they're on tight schedules. But when he tried to take my payment and leave without walking me through his work I knew something was off. Sure enough, an outdoor outlet that was to be repaired was still not working. The tech tried for 5 minutes to get it working again, insisting that he had initially fixed it, but then gave up and said that it was getting too dark to do the work. This was on my front porch, which has lights, at around 6pm haha. Being a patient person I agreed to the reschedule the next day. I re-arranged my entire work day, again, only to be told an hour into the service window that he wasn't going to be able to make it and that I needed to reschedule again. I refused. To be clear I was not charged for that work.
That would have been the end of it, but 2 nights ago a smoke alarm that they installed went off in the middle of the night for no reason. When I called to ask what can be done the agent was very accommodating, reminded me that they warranty their work for a year, and that they could have a tech out the next day which I appreciated. I spoke to the tech during the lunch hour to confirm the appointment and he asked if I could accommodate HIS schedule by being available earlier. I could not. He called me an hour later to cancel and reschedule. I simply hung up and now I'm writing a Yelp review for the first time which I'm not sure I have ever done.
In retrospect I wish I would have paid the premium with another company to have the work done right and with more reliable people.

We had plumbing problems in 2 bathrooms. Francisco and David came out and evaluated our situation. Francisco does not give up. I had seen him encounter so many obstacles with our 30 year old outdated plumbing but he never gave up. Not only are both bathrooms fixed with new fixtures but they left my bathrooms totally clean!!! I mean it. When was the last time you had excellent service, pleasant plumbers, and fair pricing all in one. Again I must say, my experiences with Frank Gay were not always this way. However lately with my air conditioning and now my plumbing, I am so impressed by the new Frank Gay Services. Francisco and David, I didn't have your last names but I believe anyone who is lucky enough to get you for their plumbing needs will be very happy. Thank you both so very much!!
I have used Frank Gay plumbing for about 20 years and decided this time was the last chance. They used to be good but seems that there was a change in management and customer service now.
I tried to replace the fill valve and found it was stuck and decided it would be better to pay for someone to do it right rather than breaking the supply line. I called first thing in the am for an appointment and was told that the tech would call before he showed up. 2 hours later I called to ask if I could get an estimate of what time and found that no one had entered my info into the system, but they would add it and get a plumber over. I asked the cost and was told the service charge to come out would be $69.95. The tank was empty and I had the replacement valve set up so it should be a quick visit. The plumber spent 10 minutes and I was charged $161.98 for the call, plus 15.00 for a supply line, and 7.50 for a flapper. i called up about the discrepancy in cost and was told that someone would call back. I called later and the person needed to talk to the manager and would call back. Three days later i called again and this time the person said that it doesn't matter that it was only 10 minutes, that is their standard charge for a toilet re-build.
The first few times that we used Frank Gay Plumbing the plumber was excellent and charged what I believe was a fair price. Then we experienced a plumber named Vern who came to fix two things, and had to come back the next day to fix the same repairs and told us that we had to pay because it was a different problem. The cartridge in the sink was never fixed properly. Several more times we had used the service and made sure we did not get Vern and they were good.
2 Months ago my wife called a different company (I wish I knew which) to repair the re-fill valve and with the service call + parts the total was $85.00. So you can imagine my shock at supplying the valve and having to pay $184.
I did not check recent reviews before calling and see that their business philosophy must have changed because they used to be really good. I hope that they change back to the way they used to do business because the community can use having service that they can trust consistently.
I was quoted $19 for them to come out and diagnose an issue on 6 year AC. I told them my AC fan keeps working nonstop even when I turn it to automatic. As the repair guy worked to diagnose the issue he was oh $80 to do this and a few minutes later $281 in total just for the extra steps to diagnose. And the results of his diagnosis replace the compressor coil ($2000 minus the 280) if we do it with them. I felt conned by the way the true cost was unveiled. Going cheap turned out truly expensive!! More expensive then the competitors with $99 to $69 flat rate prices.
This is what I learned. 1. ask what does that price include, would I be charge extra for diagnosis, is it a flat rate to diagnose the problem b/c it turns out the other competitors charge $99 or $68 to diagnose. 2. Next time forget it when they add extra tell them put it back how it was and just pay the $20 and send them on there way. 3. I also learned that this company is not a Lennox AC certified dealer (Lennox AC I have).
So far I got another company, certified lennox dealer and it cost me $99 for them to diagnose and $280 to replace the AC Fan thingy (don't remember the name of it) but I trust them more for saying $99 and charging me $99.
Recently I was accused of being bogus, and sent a private message threatening me with a law suit. I went ahead and posted said message as well as my bank statement that shows Frank Gay charged me 182.87 for a quote that we were told would be free of charge.
When did it become acceptable for business owners to bully customers over reviewing a bad experience?

Made appointment for emergency AC service after hours around 6:30/7pm told they would come between 8pm and midnight and we would need to pay up front and they would call when on their way. Florida with no AC leaves no choice... paid the premium after hours fee + service charge..
Fast forward to 11:40 at night.. still haven't heard anything, call to follow up and get answering service who takes our information saying they will follow up & let us know. We hear nothing back of course. Zero way to email them or follow up other than the answering service that did nothing.
Waste of time when we could have contacted someone else to assist not to mention being charged in full for a service that was never provided and being left in a hot house. Stay clear away from this company!!!!!!!
Update- next morning service manager calls and apologizes, offers to send someone out between noon and 4pm, we leave work early to be there and tech shows up right on time. Unfortunately however this guy tries to tell us that instead of just the drain flush we ALSO needed to replace our capacitor as it was about to go out for $800 and that if we didnt replace it right now it's going to damage our entire AC unit causing thousands of dollars of damage we of course question this knowing our less than 3 year old new build house probably only needs the drain flush we thought. The tech got mad and actually drove away when we were questioning this and asked to talked to a supervisor especially after already being upset the way they didn't show the night before. Turns out after having another company come out (shout out to Apex that was amazing!), not only was our capacitor just fine, if it had needed to be replaced it would NOT have cause damage to anything else, been $300 TOPS, and not even that because it would have been under warranty!!! So needless to say our entire experience with Frank Gay was absolutely horrible and they straight up use scare tactics to scam people. To top it all off, despite their service managers and the social media recovery team reaching out and claiming I would be refunded the money they charged, the charge still went through and took another heated phone call demanding to have someone from billing send me in writing via email I would get a refund to finally see the refund come through weeks later.
Seriously don't know how these crooks are in business! Stay away!!
This is the first bad review I have ever left.
I am so upset. My power was out because of a bad main breaker. The temperature in my house rose above 85 degrees. (I have 2 kids and dogs and cats.) I told them the breaker needed to be replaced when I called. I called Frank Gay because of seeing they had good reviews and 24/7 service.
I called them on Thursday, they said I would have to schedule an emergency appointment which would be more expensive and the soonest they could come out was Sunday. Honestly I should have looked for another electrician at that point, but I scheduled the service in desperation to get power back on. Finally the repairman came out 3 days later for the emergency service, looked at it, and told me the breaker needed replaced except he didn't know what kind it was or where to get it. *forehead slap*. He said he would find out where to order it amd let me know. I asked if he would call me at least by the next day because I had already been out of power for 3 days. He said yes, definitely. Well he never called the next day and I ended up calling Frank Gay services to ask what was going on and nobody responded. I left voicemails and nobody called back. 24/7 service? I don't think so. Service whenever they feel like it is more accurate. I then called Mako Shark Electric which someone suggested and they came out right away and fixed it on the spot! I then tried contacting Frank Gay Services again to no avail. They simply didn't answer and didn't call back even after I left a voicemail the last time requesting a refund. Worst service experience I've ever had!

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE FAMILY PLAN ANNUAL MAINTENANCE.
To start, I was automatically billed for a renewal of my previous year's plan in which they doubled my cost without informing me. Upon discovering this via my credit card statement, I had called to get clarification on what the charge was related to. The person I spoke with could not help me and told me they would have the billing department call me back. I received no phone call after a week, I had to call again, and again, no call back for another few days.
Additionally, they will NOT make any effort to schedule your included maintenances. When I renewed my plan, they told me someone would be calling to schedule these however no one did. When the maintenances finally did occur, my AC maintenance person informed that the prior FRANK GAY technician who performed my prior maintenance had not fully performed all of the required cleaning, and my AC unit was operating inefficiently because of it. Also, when the annual electrical maintenance was performed, the technician broke 3 of my light switches and did not tell me until I found out later myself.
EXTREMELY DISPLEASED.

My toilet and bathtub started backing up on a Sunday night at 9pm. I called Frank Gay Services and they picked up immediately and scheduled an appointment for me the next day. The technician Keith was there at 8:30 AM and stayed for most of the day, ensuring that the clog was fixed before he left. There was more work than what I imagined, however Keith was professional, friendly, courteous, and extremely efficient. He had to dig up the front yard and when it was done, there was no evidence of any kind. I will recommend Frank Gay Services to everyone I meet.
We just got off the phone with a technician and he laughed at our request. We asked about purchasing a part that we knew we needed but he said they would only do a full service call including a diagnostic. We are fine with paying the fee but not the unnecessary things for a part. They are out for your money.
11/21/17 My previous post was over a year ago and someone from Frank Gay just decided to comment that this is a fake post. I swear to it's not. I post nothing but 5 stars for companies because I love to promote small businesses and great customer service. However, we were treated very poorly, which is why I chose to give them 1 star. Instead of contacting me the gentleman posted here saying this is fake. If he would have spoke with me or messaged me and apologized I would have been more than happy to delete it. This continues to support my opinion with them having poor customer service.
These guys are great! They came in and helped with my AC services. Friendly and timely service.
I actually have used your company 3x in the last year with no problems. My husband called you all after you over charged us and was told someone would call back and no one did. I then went to my credit card company to dispute it and because I didn't have a written quote they sided with you. You still over charged me for the service. Charged me for a garbage disposal and installation but I provided the disposal!!!!!!! And you still charged me $229....so, i am not lying about my experience with you. I feel you ripped me off by charging something other than what was quoted by phone to install the disposal I PROVIDED.
Disappointing! My experience felt like the crooked car repair shop where a hose is loosened up before the hood gets closed and you drive off only to return. I wasted $2000 (for recharging the system twice) and was told that the air conditioning repair itself would cost another $5000 for replacing the coil of a two year old unit including another charging up of gas. That cost included the free part because of warranty.
I sought a second opinion: First, the system had too much gas in it so I saw my $2000 disperse in the Florida air. In addition, there wasn't anything wrong that he could pinpoint at the time. He suggested not to rush into an expensive repair and rather wait. (BTW, his quote to replace the coil was $1200) He also suggested if there are any problems, to replace the 45 AMPs breaker for $35 first. His service cost us $235. We replaced the breaker and the system works like a charm.
I left a review but Frank Gay services never contacted me back. In other words, you depend on local companies and trust them only to be ripped off. This lesson cost me $2000! Jens
Frank Gay Services was on time and did quality work. They were called to do plumbing and electrical for a commercial job and I was happy with their work.
Chris Smith In plumbing and Luis C in electrical got the job done for us.
We had an issue with our roller backing up and they were very responsive to our concerns.

They were called out on a Sunday to investigate a leaking water line. $129 just to show up. Dug two holes to find the source of the leak. $256.
Returned on Monday and replaced 8 feet of PVC with two fittings in two hours. $2,200!
That's $1,000 an hour for one technician.
OUTRAGEOUS!
We are a veteran non-profit organization and we used to get great service years ago. Now that it is not owned by Frank Gay anymore, the service has gotten terrible (not the technicians, but the corporation), and the service is now so overpriced that it is unaffordable. When we have called for an emergency service, we have been told it will be a few days before someone can come out. That makes me wonder why they have an emergency service in the first place. Isn't that what an emergency service is supposed to do? You know, respond to an emergency. The last few times we called and actually got someone out here, we never received a bill, then a week later we get a lien letter because we haven't paid our bill. This is how they treat a veteran's organization; I can't imagine how they treat the general public. Now that we have found a reliable service, we will never call Frank Gay again. This bad review is about the corporation that is Frank Gay now, not the service people.

If I could choose a 0 star review, I would. These people are out for the dollars and nothing more. They charged my MIL $9k to install an oversized unit into an 800 sq ft apartment... nine thousand dollars... after calling around once i found out how much they charged, multiple companies quoted $4500 as the highest price for unit and install.
One month later, the AC unit purchased has already broken down and needed to be serviced, which they tried charging for again.. After multiple weeks of calling, nobody has tried to rectify this situation, a lot of beating around the bush because they know they're in the wrong.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.. please do your own due diligence and find another HVAC Company... save yourself from highway robbery.
I called them for a quote to install recessed lighting in four rooms of my home. When the technician arrived, he told me it would be $80 for a quote which I wasn't informed about over the phone. He said he would waive it since I wasn't told before he arrived. The estimator seemed knowledgeable and very friendly during the initial consultation. Weeks went by and I never received a quote for the work. I called to ask about it and the person on the phone said my quote was never turned into the office and he would investigate it and call me back. He never called back. I then called again to talk to a manager, but to my surprise the manager didn't want to talk to me on the phone, the person who answered the phone took my information, which they already had from previous calls, and reassured me the manager would call me back. He never called me back. My project has been delayed 3 weeks thanks to these guys being completely incompetent and can't complete the most basic of tasks of giving a client a quote. I'd give them no stars, but it's not an option. I guess it's better I uncovered their incompetence prior to letting them in my home to perform the work. I'd recommend using a company that values their potential clients time.

I was very please with Frank Gay Services, they where very professional and did a great job. I will be calling them again if I have another problem!
Being in the commercial const industry, I am more a get to the point. The service man was in no way faulted, it was just a different client.
By talking to a Tech, I a have decided to go another route.
Thank you for having someone call back. Everyone has to start somewhere
So far, Frank Gay Services has been the one company in Central FL that we can count on. They have become our go-to company for most all home servicing and repairs. From repiping our house and drywall repair to electrical needs to ac maintenance, Frank Gay has been there all the way with us and performed work in a competent manner for a fair price. To Skip, Jack, Juan, and the countless other techs who have repaired our home systems and Amy and Alex in the office, you rock!
Had whole house replumbed on May 30th called about plumbing inspection to find out they had not pulled the permit. Permit was not pulled until June 12th. On June 14th it passed inspection. I ended up canceling them to do the drywall repair as they couldn't get to it until June 21st then I was told oh they could do it on June 19th. Which was when I said no just cancel it I do not want Frank Gay back in my house. They did my sons house and gave him 10-year labor warranty. They only gave me a 1-year labor warranty, his was done last year March of 22. I posted on google a bad review for all the trouble and trying to get a final from them. I was told by Sarah in email that if I would retract my review and sign a satisfaction agreement, they would then give me the 10-year labor warranty. I told her NO I will not I am not satisfied! I paid on June 27th the final $810 for retainage and have been fighting with them since to get the original final with it completely filled out. What they taped to me front door was copies and the top two lines are not filled out. I sent pictures I have emailed everyday asking for the original wet signature and still no reply and no originals sent. Nothing has been recorded with Volusia Clerk of Court, to show the final. which they said they would do. Still nothing.
PLEASE send the original wet signature unconditional final affidavit quit playing games. I paid in full the $8,100.
This has been the worst experience I would not recommend using a company that does not warranty their work for all clients the same. And will not give you original finals and will not respond. I guess they think the workers who did my hose did a crappy job. My son had a great experience this is why I used them. I wish I had not!!!!!!
I got a commercial contract with them , they supposed to do 4 times maintenance they never gave me even one ! And today my AC was not working , I called they said it calls emergency whatever you eligible for the free maintenance because you paid Ahead but it's weekend you need to pay 130 to come over and after that 130 dollars an hour ! I told them you do not have an emergency, you do not work in the weekend , you have a outrageous service in the weekend

I called the day before to schedule an appointment for 3-5 the agreed to come around 4 to give me a chance to get home. They had not arrived at 5 so they called back and said he was on the way. He arrived after 7 pm it was dark and needed to see my Ac Unit in the backyard. Then he proceeded to tell me the NEW AC Unit they installed 18 months ago for $5000 needed new coils and I needed to pay an additional $1800 for the labor the parts were free under warranty. Also if the coils once replaced only had a year warranty and may need to be replaced again for $1800 again there were no guarantees.
I spoke to the Frank Gay Repair Supervisor who informed me they had recently purchased Frank Gay from Frank Gay and their policies had changed. And basically, I should have had the AC serviced better even though I had the NEW OUT OF THE BOX AC UNIT installed under 2 years by their company. I would not recommend anyone to use this company especially since they are standing on their old reputation and not trying to keep the service and quality legacy of Frank Gay going.
My husband called for service for an electrical problem in our home. A breaker kept flipping shutting off power to the bedroom where my husband sleeps with a Capp machine. The scheduler said they had no appointments today, but when he explained that he had medical issues she put him on hold and came
back quickly saying he was put on the schedule for this morning. Very compassionate. The electrician Marcus Williams was exceptional. He checked the load in the room and said it should not be too much. He then checked the breaker and replaced it. Problem solved. He was professional and explained everything in lay terms. This is the second time we use Gay and could not be happier.

I had a clog in my Central Mainline that needed to be jet flushed. The technician let me know before they could look at the main line it would be almost $300 for viewing the line with a camera device. They didn't provide me a quote for the full job before this. After they looked at the line I was provided with a final quote of $1550 to fix the issue through jetting the Mainline. I was astounded by how high the quote was. When I showed the average cost ($350-$600) on Home Advisor to the technician he wrote it off saying no licensed plumber would perform the service for that price. However when searching online I found other companies that perform this service for far more reasonable prices than Frank Gay. Do yourself a favor by shopping around and get multiple estimates. I know I've learned my lesson and plan on using other companies for my plumbing needs in the future.

We were very disappointed by this company. We did receive an appointment on the same day that I called, and they showed up shortly after my call. That was the last good thing that happened. I was told I would receive a phone call soon. But soon turned into days without even a quote for our repairs. I made calls several days in a row but got no response. I finally called the business number after two weeks of waiting, and the woman I spoke to tried her best to help us without success. She managed to get us an appointment with what she called the dry-out man. He came out to assess the moisture factor which could lead to mold problems. Still no mention of fixing the leak. Still leaking! He said he would come back the next day to take samples to check for mold, but he never showed up or called to say he wasn't coming. That was the end of my patience.....I called another company and had the leak fixed within a day.
Stay away from this company - a total rip off. Aside from their ridiculous prices, all they want to do is up-sell you. I wish I had followed my instinct to pull the plug when they initially said their troubleshooting fee for my tankless water heater was $200. Then all the tech did was call in to the manufacturer's tech support to assist with troubleshooting by phone. I would think for $200 I'd get a tech that didn't need to do that. I spent even more to have the unit descaled which didn't fix the problem. From there the recommendation was to replace the unit because it was old. I almost choked when I saw the estimate to replace it so needless to say I cut my losses. Won't ever do any more business with them and recommend you don't either.

It was 5:30 PM on Thursday and I come downstairs to find that my toilet had overflowed. I quickly realized this was not a normal clogged toilet situation. I called Frank Gay Services and requested an emergency plumber to come to my house. I was charged a one-time $129.00 nonrefundable fee at the time of my call for the emergency visit. I was told the earliest they could get someone to my house was after 8:00 PM.
I received a text message at 8:58 PM letting me know who my assigned technician was and that he would be arriving soon. The text message included a picture of the technician and his full name.
The technician (Connor L.) arrived soon after the text message. He was great! Super personable, patient, friendly, understanding, sympathetic, and knowledgeable.
After explaining what happened, he assessed the situation and told me what he thought the problem was. He provided me with two quotes and recommended the lower one based on my situation. The cost was $277.00 to snake the pipe from the outside of my home to the street and to take pictures of the hole. He was able to get the pipe cleared and determined that part of the pipe near the sidewalk was crushed. He explained that I could still use the toilet, but he recommended I do not use toilet tissue until it is repaired. He further explained that I would need to call the county to get it repaired. He was happy to answer any questions, took pictures, wrote up his report, emailed it to me, and was on his way.
On Friday morning I called Orange County Utilities. They sent a crew out at 5:30 PM to fix the issue. The crew repaired the pipe by about 8:20 PM. All is well!
All in all, I was VERY happy with the service provided by Frank Gay Services. I recommend them for your plumbing needs and I was extremely happy and satisfied with the service provided by Connor L.
Our kitchen sink only has one drain, which is connected to the garbage disposal. We were experiencing water backup issues that would only resolve when the disposal was running. I decided to disassemble the pipes myself and found no visible clogs. When the technician from Frank Gay arrived, he suggested that over time, grease and debris could accumulate in the pipes under the house and mentioned snaking them would resolve the issue. I expressed my doubt, mentioning that the house was only 5 years old, and there couldn't be enough buildup in the 1-inch pipes to cause such problems. I also emphasized that the garbage disposal only drained when turned on, indicating that the issue might be with the disposal itself. However, the technician quoted a price of $535 for snaking the pipes, which I complained about but ultimately agreed to since I couldn't do it myself due to the length of the pipes.
During the snaking process and cleanup, the technical was overselling the snaking process, which ultimately didn't do anything to alleviate the problem. It was later determined that the disposal needed to be replaced. The technician then proposed an additional charge of $100 for the replacement. I was frustrated, considering the fact that their initial assessment was entirely wrong. I should have followed my instincts and purchased a $125 disposal from Home Depot and installed it myself. Eventually, the technician installed a new disposal and reduced the charge to $489, which I still consider an exorbitant amount for a problem I diagnosed, and then they left without attaching my dishwasher pipe to the disposal.
I want to share my experience with others who may not be as knowledgeable in this field: Frank Gay WILL OVERCHARGE YOU for their services.
I don't mind paying for a service, but to hire experts in this field and you're expecting them to diagnose the problem first, and they're not able to do it, and then I'm overcharged is unacceptable.
If someone from Frank Gay wants to discuss this, please provide me a Name and a direct number to discuss further. Don't leave a message to call us, and then I'm stuck in your phone tree on hold for 45 minutes - that's not attending to the problem.
UPDATE: 5/24 - Frank Gay's representative called me today, and we discussed what happened with their services. I reiterated that the technician was doing his job, but disagreed with their service fees, so they offered to refund $100 within 15 days of signing an official document and updating my post, which I'm doing. I appreciate them following up and trying to make things right.
Our experiences with Dave and Skip, the principals on our bathroom(s) remodeling was above par, work was taken over from another contractor and the balance of the job was beautifully finished.
All plumbing jobs have been handled beautifully and when asked by friends we always recommend this company, again repairs have been done flawlessly.
We contracted through them for our exterior house painting, again, excellent, workers pleasant and efficient.
My highest recommendation!
People managing the phones are rude. It took two trips and 3 different techs to properly diagnose the issue with my water heater. Upon determining that the water heater needed to be replaced, I was pretty much dumped as a customer. They recommended I go with a more local company. I called back to speak with a manager to clarify the situation and Enrique basically refused to let me speak to his manager. He did call back with a ridiculous quote, $200 more than another plumber I was forced to call. So much for the price matching that they advertise while you are placed on hold, and so much for the $69 fee I already paid being applied to my final bill, which is why I went with them in the first place.
My experience with Frank Gay has been back and forth. They installed my home AC unit and air handler last year. I bought a high-end model which was defective after it was installed. After quite a bit of back and forth, they worked with me to have the manufacturer replace the old unit. In addition, when originally negotiating the unit, I wanted to install a Nest thermostat rather than one they sold me. They advised me that I could not use a Nest thermostat with my unit, which turned out to be untrue, and so now I am stuck with the thermostat they sold me unless I want to invest another couple hundred dollars to replace it. At this point, I figured my service had been adequate, and I didn't a feel strongly positive or strongly negative urge to leave a review.
Here is where it takes a turn for the worse. After the replacement condenser was installed, I signed a contract for $139 for them to maintain the unit. I have yet to be contacted to clean or maintain my system. When I got home from work Friday, I found a pool of water in my downstairs bathroom under the air handler closet. It turns out they must have installed a faulty float valve which allows my unit to overflow and the lack of maintenance has taken its toll. I only hope I don't have permanent water damage or mold in my walls and I now have to have this looked at.
I'm not sure I would recommend Frank Gay for AC services or even installation at this point, as these two issues back to back have me concerned about their installation crew and quality of service.
Their services may be good, I can't attest to that. I tried to get a quote for plumbing, I was told someone would call me the next day. They call me at 8:40 am, left a voicemail telling me to call back. I call back.....no one has any clue as to what I'm referring to. Had me on hold for 10 minutes. Seems like way too much work to give them business. The resolution offered was I'm sorry no one responded to my page. No other solution was offered. Contact someone else.
Scam artists! Very over priced and far more than initially quoted for a simple plumbing repair that I felt was an emergency since it was leaking. When the tech told me I needed to replace all my hot water pipes as they were discolored and rotten(I did not fall for that but it was too late to cancel the leak repair as my other pipe were already torn apart and I needed it fixed), I knew something was not right. They will try to scare you into repairs you do not need. On their free inspection they told me my electric fuses weren't up to code and would fail and cause a fire, so I needed to replace them at a cost many times what it should have been. Do yourself a favor and get at least one other quote even if you think you can't wait for the repair.
Worst experience I've ever had and one of the most expensive!! From the sales technician, to the service tech. More specifically my house has a crawl space and most companies don't want to deal with it. Frank Gay initially sent a tech out and charged me $39.00 and the tech said he was not prepared to go under the home. They then sent out a tech for camera shots of the underside of the home for a charge of $242.00. The tech was here 5 minutes and was done with his work. He stated that the house was in bad condition and the job would cost over $25,000 and left. I called and asked for the written assessment and was told that there was no written assessment or pictures, after getting the run around a few times. I was also told that I could deduct the $242 from the cost of the repairs if I decided to go with them. I decided to have the work done because of the awful smell that was constantly in my home. The cost of the total re- pipe was very expensive and the sale tech was quite pushy and exaggerated the problem. Because I was desperate to get relief I think he took advantage of me being in a vulnerable state. After the work was reportedly completed, there was other leaks that according to Frank Gay did not come from the work they performed. The tech that performed the additional work at additional cost, stated that the work on the re pipe was not completed properly. I called the company repeatedly and finally had to call Senior management to get answers. Eventually I had to email and complain because I was not getting any satisfaction from the company completing the work. Vandy a very nice lady called me back and emailed me back but her staff did not respond as I was told they would. From the middle of January until yesterday February 26, I have Holes in the walls and the front yard is dug up. The inspection by Orange County was completed on Wednesday of this week but I'm certain Frank Gay knows that the inspectors do not go underneath the home to confirm the proper completion of the work. Please know that I would never recommend this company to anyone!!!
Called Frank Gay to ask if they could assist with a leak in a pool line. Nothing on the site mentioned anything about pools, but when I called and asked, was assured that they could help so took the day off work to have them come out.
Tech came around 2-3pm, looked at the issue and was confused why they called him out - stated they don't work on pools and apologized before leaving.
That was a complete waste of my time, and ended up taking yet another day off work to call someone else.
If the dispatchers don't even know what services are being offered, and the tech/plumber doesn't even know what they are showing up for, it speaks towards all of the other negative reviews on this site indicating lack of professionalism and training. Paired with the fact that the owner tends to reply individually to negative comments with passive aggressive comments... is this the kind of company you want to have work on your home for top dollar?

Unprofessional. They refuse to provide any pricing or rates without paying them to come out. My landlord used the to do a typical hydrojet cleaning of a clog through the clean out outside the house. They charged over $1,200 for a $300 job!
This review may be the first in Yelp history to be ongoing. To update again, we had to call Frank Gay Services for yet another service visit as our new, $18,000 A/C is still not delivering the cooling to our master bedroom while the thermostat is still out of control. We set it for 77 degrees, then it bounces around between 79 and 75 degrees. To our thinking when you set your thermostat it should hold at the set temp, which our does not. What is utlimately frustrating is that each tech sent to us not only has a different solution but that solution directly contradicts what the previous tech came up with. Who's right? So far, nobody. We feel we were duped into replacing our old A/C which performed as well as the new one. Which is to say there is no difference between the two systems and were better of with our old A/C. Don't know what to do at this point. In all fairness I will say that Frank Gay is fast to respond and the techs are always friendly and professional. They just cannot solve our problem. BTW, we also spent over $2,000 to have our A/C ducts repaired and added some window tinting trying to cool the master bedroom, which we have to avoid until evening when the room becomes no better than tolerable.
Unfortunately, I did not have a positive experience. I called Frank Gay to arrange an appointment for an electrician to come out and repair multiple items. My appointment was scheduled for 8 am - 11 am. My wife stayed home from work for the appointment. No one showed up, but we assumed the electrician was running over from his prior appointment. At 2 pm, we called to determine the status. Frank Gay advised we were still on the schedule that day. After waiting until after 5 pm, we gave up. I never received a call from Frank Gay. Find another company who won't waste your time and money.

Never, ever, use Frank Gay Plumbing. Although the work seems to have been completed properly (time will tell) their business and billing practices seem to be on the borderline, if not over the line into unethical.
Naturally, my air conditioning went out Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning I called Frank Gay Plumbing and requested a service technician. The technician came out and determined that one of my zones was not functioning properly. His very first order of business was to sell me the yearly homeowners inspection plan for my air conditioning system. I relented because I had not had them properly inspected in the last two years. This $400 charge supposedly gets me a discount on their other services and an inspection of my various systems (see below). In addition I was charged almost $400 to refill the system until they could come out on Tuesday to repair the system. This was over and above the Sunday trip fee which I fully expected.
Tuesday the primary technician and his helper arrived and told me that they would be doing a Isolation Leak Test to include the outside condenser, the lines leading to the air handler, and the air handler itself. The technician advised me that they would test all three systems and that the charge would be $1100. The technician, knowing the systems, checked air handler and found the leak within 20 minutes. I was advised that it didn't matter if it took 20 minutes or 24 hours the charge was the same and could not be mitigated or modified to reflect work actually performed. I subsequently talked to the billing clerk at Frank Gay and explained that this was an outrageous amount for 20 minutes worth of work and was bordering on criminal. She indicated that that was their charge and that she would talk to management. In addition I found that they had billed me an entirely separate $158 trip fee for coming out on Tuesday to repair and install the necessary parts I had paid for in advance. I questioned this fee stating that I should not have to pay it especially since they billed me for parts and labor to repair what they had diagnosed previously. I later received a call from this clerk telling me that management was well aware of these fees and that I would have to pay them no matter what; there was no prorating due to only taking 20 minutes to find the leak. I explained that the technician did not check in the other parts of my system only one part. The clerk told me that they had found the leak and therefore I had no standing. The clerk said that if I wanted to pay another hundred dollar fee they would come out and complete the test as agreed upon.
In addition, I found that the technician had misrepresented the services to be performed under the service agreement that I had purchased.
The technician involved seemed to know his business as far as the repair of the system however I felt that his ethical behavior as far as selling the warrantee and his billing was misleading bordering on unethical. Their billing practices although accurate in the end, were very confusing. One of the charges that I had to pay was for $1800 more than I thought was actually due. The technician told me not to worry about it that they would credit me once the invoices and the credit card fees got checked at the main office. Much to my surprise this actually happened.
I would sincerely caution everyone to think twice about calling Frank Gay Services for just about anything. If I hadn't been caught on the Saturday night and Sunday no air conditioning problem I would have given the issue more thought and checked Yelp before calling. I have looked at some of the other reviews; they seem to mirror my experience. I cannot remember the last time I took the trouble to leave a negative review but this company gives me a special feeling of negativity. Please pay special attention to the negative reviews.
Frank Gay does not provide any level of customer service. They came to my house to install a new water heater and in less than 12 hours of the work the unit was leaking all over my laundry room. It took 5 hours for someone to come out to fix it and after he left I discovered that I no longer have water pressure in my kitchen. When I called customer service they told me it would be an additional $129 for them to come to my house to look at the problem and they would give it back if the issue is related to the work they did. How is it not related? There was no issue before they did any work and now there is an issue. They then referred me to a voicemail to leave a message with my concern and it was full. This has been a terrible experience and it does not feel like they care.
Buyer beware! This place is a total rip off! They quoted me over $11,000 for a new AC unit After calling around and getting four more quotes the highest quote I received was 6,700. They charged $125 just to come out and quoted me 4000 to clean it! The whole unit doesn't even cost $4000! When I asked the technician if they had competitive prices he just said that they have been in business for 48 years so I guess that justifies ripping people off! I am getting my whole unit replaced with a UV light for under 5000. Shop around
In need of plumbing services? Buyer beware!
I recently sought estimates for a simple plumbing job - running a water line across a 30' garage to a new outdoor hose bib. I got the following three estimates:
1. Mike Scott Plumbing $350 (no estimate fee)
2. Anthony Torri Plumbing $325 (no estimate fee)
3. Frank Gay Services $2158 ($38 estimate fee)
After two calls to Frank Gay Services, seeking to speak to a manager and being promised a callback, I finally got through to a customer service person who said that they would refund my $38 estimate fee if I signed an agreement to keep my dissatisfaction silent. The form required me to not post or author any detrimental reviews, blogs, etc. regarding the Company, in any form, whether written or oral.
My silence cannot be purchased for $38. I am a new homeowner in The Villages. The majority of service companies that I have dealt with have been upstanding and a pleasure to do business with, however, when I find a company that exploits and takes advantage of unsuspecting homeowners, I want to share my experience and help others avoid making a bad decision.

They suck you in with a low Service Call Fee. Once the plumber is there, and time is critical, they will only do the work for an exorbitant extra fee. In our case, it was more than 500 dollars to replace four 40 cent bolts in the back of the toilet. The entire job took 15 minutes. Rip off!

I called Frank Gay to find a leak in my bathroom. they showed up on time. the tech didn't even check anything he only looked at the floor where I had a towel down to soak up the water (he didn't even pick up the towel to look) he told me I had 3 options.
1. re-pipe the whole house for 8,500 and this is what he recommended. (that's like saying I have a flat tire on my car and the mechanic say's well, you could buy a new car
2. some other crazy deal for 7,000
3. just to look for the leak was 2,000 just to cut out a piece of drywall and look inside which would take about 10 minutes
this is a very dishonest way to do business. don't trust this vendor.
I'm sure I'll get someone in the Orlando area that will at least look before quoting prices like this
Needed some work done to install a washer and dryer in a detached garage and they did an excellent job!
Chris Smith was very professional .He found the problem and suggested to have the septic tank emptied.

STRONGLY NOT recommended. They quoted $1,443 for a job that a Lowe's certified professional charged me $299 for.
They state on their website Best pricesand Competitive Prices. This is the definition of fraud, since I paid a $39 assessment fee for a competitive price and they did not deliver.
They state 100% satisfaction guarantee, your satisfaction is our guarantee, unmatched customer service. This is another lie. After they confirmed that their quote didn't have errors, they did not reply to my email or returned multiple voicemails where I requested a call from a manager to get a refund for not delivering on what they advertise.
When I told their tech that the price seemed excessive and asked for a breakdown, he made a bad joke saying that I would have to pay for a consulting fee. He also declined to give me a breakdown until I paid.
The attached pictures are proof of the bad service I received. I politely asked for a refund since they did not deliver and was ignored.
7/25 update:
Customer service contacted me the day after I posted this review and offered a refund in exchange for an updated review or removing the review. Jackie was very nice and it took approximately 17 days for the refund to be processed and 40+ days after I was originally charged.
While I appreciate the customer service Jackie provided after I posted the review, it is unfortunate that I did not get a response on multiple attempts to contact them via phone call, voicemail, and email until I wrote the review. The website continues to incorrectly state that they have the best prices or competitive prices.

The employee was late. He called and was at the wrong address. Advised he would be another hour to my, correct address. I had to call and check to make sure there wasn't an accident or something, since it was TWO hours. He said he had had an emergency. (That's absolutely fine, but you should alert your customer or your employer to have someone reach out to customer). I asked for a few quotes and STILL have not heard anything or received a call back follow up. Very disappointed.
I scheduled service for an outside electrical panel, they sent one new guy, who arrived late and has had a terrible attitude all day, he's been complaining about the job and how hard it is and has been making me feel like my job is a bother to him. I feel bad that he's one person on his own but I shouldn't feel bad for hiring the work. He's been here more than 8 hours and is still not done. I chose this company because they has good reviews. The job was expensive and this is what I get? Lots of damage to my ceiling, just a messy electrician, terrible attitude and no respect for the customer. I gave it 2 stars only because the guy hasn't left and didn't decide to just say to hell with it, which he's said a few times already but I don't know if I can ever trust this company again. Update: Changing to 1 Star. I was supposed to have someone call me about completing my job, the job has still not been completed and no one has called me about finishing the job, (They all know about the issues and logged it. I am now w/o power to half my since since Wed 11/24. A manager was supposed to call me on Monday 11/29 (since no one could take my call on the weekend when I asked about when were they planning on coming out to finish the job) I was told that they had nothing on the schedule to come back out, are you kidding me? Before they came I HAD power to my WHOLE house, how do you not plan on coming back out and why does the customer have to call and harass to get someone to finish the job? I have not heard blip, I have called them and get a leave a message. I have reported them to the BBB. I sent them an email before I made my complaint as they asked to do before contacting the BBB, but it doesn't matter, they don't seem to respond to emails either. Shoddy work, terrible customer service, poor attitude and disrespectful. What was supposed to be a relatively small hole turned into this because the guy used to wrong wiring holder and pulled more roofing than necessary, I got all kinds of debris in my sink and down my drain which now I have to have a plumber come unclog for me.

Steer clear. The only good thing about this company is that they only charge $39 to (supposedly) diagnose your problem. The bad thing is they sent someone who was either unqualified or they tried to scam me. When our overhead cam lights all went out we called Frank Gay services. The electrician arrived and this is literally all he did: Opened the breaker box and took a photo with his cell phone. Removed one of the cam light bulbs and took a photo of the of the outlet. He sent the photos to the office and what came back was a quote of over $1,000 to rewired the 6 cam lights. I asked him twice why he didn't even look at the light switch, but was told we need to rewire everything. I sent him on his way. Later my son came over, took one look at the light switch, found the problem, and replace the light switch. Cost a few bucks for the part. Lucky me, I avoided getting scammed (less the $39 fee.)

Their customer service is like their advertising, non existing. The technician installed and expensive programmable thermostat after being told to install a simple basic thermostat. A simple fix, if the ac manager would return my call. A simple exchange would make me a happy customer, but they don't seem to care. How ironical, just like there ad. Still waiting for a call. Day 6.
We have used this company in the past and have been very happy with the service. This time, not so much. We had a leak in our kitchen faucet that should have been easy enough to fix. It was under warranty and we had all the parts needed. The tech put it in backwards and we were lucky that my husband saw it and fixed it. That does not build trust in a company when you have to watch and fix simple issues. Our main problem is that we were told there was an $89 service fee that would be taken off if we did the work. That is how it has been when we worked with this company in the past. We asked the tech to quote a price and it was pretty accurate, until he tacked on a $50 trip fee. That is just sad and wrong. It was never quoted by the company or this guy until he was walking out the door.
We just purchased a condo, we called Frank Gay for Plumbing,Electrical and Hvac. We scheduled them all for the same day and services were efficient,on time and very professional. Only thing we wanted them to clean the air conditioning ducts and the machine did not work. They will be back on Tuesday to do that job.
Highly recommend Frank Gay Services.
If I could give Frank Gay a zero I would. Do not reccomend this company. They take your money and don't fix the issue. Had Frank Gay come to my home 4 times to fix my AC. 3 Different technicians. 3/7/23 - tech stated contactor needed replaced. My ac was set at 69 but it was 80 in my house so called Frank Gay again 3/27/23- Different tech stated a/c needed new capacitor 3/29/23 -Same tech cam back and replaced a connector. On 4/2/23 called Frank Gay again and asked for an experienced tech. 4/3/23 tech came out, looked at unit and said we needed a new one. Had they told us that from the beginning we would have had them replace it, however 4 service calls and 3 techs later to find out a new unit was needed is frustrating and disappointing. Since the quality of work was subpar and they never truly fixed the unit I called and asked to be refunded. They do not stand by their work and would not refund what I paid them. There response was well if u would have bought the unit from us we would have put what you paid for fixing the old one towards that. But I did not have faith in them at this point. Buyers beware Frank Gays steals your money and does not back their work!!
RUN don't walk away from this company.
I made the mistake of purchasing a $20K air conditioner unit from them and since that point they have destroyed parts of my home, I have had to miss multiple days of work, and there seems to be no end insight.
Our journey with them started when our AC stopped working a showed signs of a small leak. The tech told us that they would have to remove the upstairs handlers to determine what the best course of action would be but that process would cost several thousand dollars and might end with us needing a new system anyway due to its age. The tech suggested that we move forward with a new system and we agreed.
The next day they began installing the new system.
The system was installed and the left but then are real troubles began. It took about a day for us to notice that the house was not cooling. We called Frank Gay and they came out to look at the system (after telling us we would need to pay the ~$170 after hours cost). Keep in mind this was a day after purchasing the $20K system from them. Mind you that I also had to pick up their fast food trash and half eaten food from my driveway that they left behind after they installed the system.
When the tech arrived he looked at the system and said that the installation was completely wrong. Told us that one air handler had a compressor that was not installed correctly and had become completely frozen. The other had issues with how the wires were installed and likely never worked. He told us he fixed the wires but would have to wait until the compressor thawed before it could be fixed. He had that unit shut off so it could thaw out and told us someone would be back the next day to fix it.
Within a couple hours water began pouring out of light and ceiling in our downstairs laundry room. Frank Gay came out again and told us this was the water that came from the frozen compressor. They then had to cut a three foot whole in our ceiling to keep it from caving in.
The next day new people showed, reported that the system was now fixed, and left. Again, within hours new and more water was coming from the hole in the ceiling. The water was now also spilling out into the upstairs room soaking the carpet. They forgot to clear out the drain pipes that were still frozen from their failed installation.
Then comes the water restoration team. I have multiple fans in my home attempting to dry the various areas of water from their install. This now includes pulling back my upstairs carpet which in doing so has two 5 foot rips.
Sadly, it doesn't end here. The system with the compressor issue is no longer turning on. So Frank Gay to the rescue. It appears that the fan module is bad, or so they say. So they bring out a new person the next day to replace the fan module and the fan motor of the one unit.
Problem solved, right? No.
Later that night it was very cold in our home. As I checked our thermostats the temperature read low 60s and yet all thermostats were set to mid 70s. The system was still running. Out comes Frank Gay again.
This time we find that the install included faulty wiring to which they addressed.
After the multiple days of work, excessing and impressive new ways to fail, I am happy to report that the BRAND NEW $20,000 units appear to be in working order. I just have to deal with the devastation left in their wake which includes a 3' x 3' whole in my laundry room ceiling, a 6' x 2'x whole in the drywall under the air handlers, a 6' x 6' piece of missing padding under my upstairs carpet, two 5' rips in my carpet, and half a dozen commercial air fans.
All of this brings us to today nearly a week and a half after the carpet and wood has finally dried.
Frank Gay is back and attempting to correct the situation. They have sent a guy to do the drywall but apparently told him to also do the painting and carpet. How is to do the painting and carpet?
Here we go again.
His managers told him to take a piece of the drywall to Home Depot and have them match it and then just paint then new patch.
For the carpet? The no longer stretched but now actually torn carpet? He is to buy a 5' x 5' carpet pad and a new tack strip, nail the tack strip down, put the pad down and then fold the carpet back over. No concern for the fact that the carpet now has waves in it from not being stretched or that there are two stirps from where the tears in the carpet are due to the water restoration services.
PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT RISK YOUR HOME, YOUR TIME, YOUR MONEY, YOUR JOB BY USING THIS COMPANY.

Great place to go if you want to pay 3x the going rate for services! And don't bother calling in for customer service. They'll string you along for weeks and never actually solve anything for you.
So this is a response to my earlier review. First off they responded to my review with call us, our customer service manager is here to help
Thats a joke! I already called and complained and they did Nothing.
Second is that I posted a bad review on google and it was extremely altered by someone to reflect 5 stars. I found out when google posted that it had been altered.
I'm the ex customer of 10 years. You wanted to charge $300 to tighten a bolt on the sink that you installed a few months earlier.
The fact that my google review was changed and you have the nerve to ask me to reach out to you for help? I did reach out and you did Nothing!
How about you treating me right the first time. Charge a fair price and don't charge me when you come back and fix your screwup.

Geez, thank goodness I didn't have them do any work on my home. I sensed some less than authentic practices when I requested a quote. They wanted to charge me to come to my home to give me a quote. Then, I read their reviews on yelp. 234 reviews not recommended because they're bogus. Look how many start with Chris Smith! Clearly they would cheat and cut corners when possible.

Great service! Rarely do I write reviews but my technician tonight was prompt, professional, and extremely friendly and informative and I feel the need to share my experience with you all. James Thomas was my tech and he called to let me know that he was 30 minutes out and he arrived right on time. He came in and assessed the situation quickly and let me know exactly what work he needed to perform to get me back up and feeling the cold air circulating. As an individual who is far from home repair savvy, James was gracious enough to impart some of his wisdom with me so that I could be prepared should a similar event like this occur again in the future.
I am extremely grateful to James and to Frank Gay Services for being available 24 hours a day to come out and get my air running properly again; I won't have to suffer through the night and I will get a good night sleep again.
I 100% recommend them to anyone who needs to get their A/C fixed or those that need to have routine maintenance performed on their unit. And if you can, ask for James!!
I recently had Frank Gay Services replace the main electrical service panel on the side of my house. The customer service I received from the office was absolutely terrible. Brian, the electrical manager was very rude and dismissive. He made me feel as if I was bothering him with my questions. Secondly, the estimate I received for the work did not reflect on the final invoice I was given. There were additional charges that were not disclosed to me that showed up on the final bill.
The only reason why I'm giving this review two stars instead of one is because the service technician, Steven Garcia, was absolutely great. He was very friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. I was very impressed with his workmanship - he was so detailed that he put a level on the new service panel to make sure it was hung straight.

The good news is they clean up after themselves. The bad news is that they're never on time, I had to have them out 3 times just to find out that I paid to have the wrong thing fixed, all of the techs get commission, so they always try and upcharge you on something, and their prices are incredibly high. Overall, I was very disappointed in getting the hard sell rather than fixing what I needed fixed.
Do not under any circumstances use these guys. My a/c was not blowing cold, so stupid me believing their radio ads called them to come fix it. Huge mistake. The tech was terrible. He was making up problems which weren't there, telling me this was bad and that was bad and needed to be fixed. Quoted $2200 to fix the problem. I didn't trust him, so i sent him home and called another company. The other company fixed my a/c with no drama for $560 in total. And it is working perfectly.

Companies like Frank Gay Services today dont care about the consumer even though we are the ones who keep them in business. Over the years we have gone from 1 hour windows, to 2 hour windows and now 4 hour windows. It is really sad when a company can not keep their schedule on a 4 hour window after inconveniencing the customer .
This company is no different. First time using and will be our last. We had to rearrange our schedule to accommodate their 4 hour window and just found out they can not make this window . The problem is these companies believe they are doing us a favor.. hahahaha.
Well being a business owner myself. A piece of advise to this companies owner. The hard work and customer commitment you put in to the company when you started to climb up that latter of success are the same customers and competitors you will see when falling down that same latter. Trust me there is always someone out there who is hungry that is just starting out and willing to put their customers first.
I am an elderly woman and Steven Garcia employee of Frank gay services was contacted about what shape my house was in and he donated his time to come and look at my electricity and my air conditioner and was able to do some repair but there's still a lot that needs to be done. I appreciate his time for coming and helping me.
I had bought a kitchen tap and needed it installed. I see their vans around town so I called Frank Gay. Plumber came out, quoted me $450 to change the tap. How much? !!! I declined, he charged me $39 and left. I called another plumber, he came out, quoted me $150 and did the work (took him just under an hour). Don't waste your time with these crooks.

my brother had a tech come out for a leak on his mobile home.. so the tech said he couldn't go under the home because of the lines were old and were cancer causing?? he gave my brother a shark bite and said that it might fix the issue but to replace all the pipes would cost $6400.00 .. well thank goodness we have family we temporarily fixed the leak and purchased the pipe at Home Depot it cost a little over 600.00 with fittings and all the accessories needed .. and a day's work.. considering I have someone related to me that works for this company I would not recommend anyone..
I have spent the last week trying to have my hot water heater replaced by Frank Gay Services. For the onsite visit, they stated they didn't have any 65 gallon water heaters to replace my existing and quoted $7700 to install an 80 gallon tank. I was told that I could purchase my own heater and they would install for $1000. So I went ahead and purchased my own hybrid water heater and verified thru multiple texts with their office that the installation costs would not change whether it was a standard or a hybrid heater. When the technician arrived this morning, he stated that he could not install the heater for the price that was quoted and acknowledged that he was told by his manager that they were aware that the dispatcher in the office confirmed that it would be the same price. He then proceeded to quote me $2500 for the install (Bait and Switch??). I refused the service and asked why the cost went up so much and the only difference turns out to be the installation of a drain line. I asked to speak to the manager, but apparently he was too busy for a call but I was told that he would call me back. It's no surprise that I haven't heard back from them. I don't blame the technician, he was unfortunately just the messenger for this bad business practice/experience.

Would be a zero review if that was possible, this company took advantage of my Mother. Will not finish repair with out all money owed. First she had to replace water heater charged $2200 if we got our own water heater. Secondly that wasn't even the reason there is a water leak. Charged an additional 7800( first half of amount) busted opened concrete block in wall and concrete floor both areas are small 1'by 2' . After inspection call repeatedly to have wall and floor repaired 6 weeks later received an email stating to fix holes it would be an additional $948, we had to move washer and dryer back first time we use water is leaking from same spot, called Frank Gay company they stated they couldn't even send someone to look at it without additional $7800, yes that's a total so far over 17,000, and yes I think they are taking advantage of my elderly Mother

Frank Gay Services charged $922.00 to replaced a toilet's wax ring and to run a snake to clean-out our drain. A wax ring costs less than $6, and only took 20 minutes. The snake/clean out took about 35 minutes, we have a rather small house. These charges are outrageous plus the technician wanted to run a camera into the drain at a cost of $1,200 when he first arrived. Yes, we were lured in by the $39.00 service call fee. We will never call Frank Gay for any service again.

I had an emergency service done on 8/20/2023 on my AC. Of course there was a emergency fee which I had to pay upfront on Saturday when I called. It took the tech 15 minutes to find the problem. The drain line was clogged and the float rose and shut of the unit. It cost me another 200 dollars to have the line sucked but I needed the AC to work for health reason. Now I am 70 years old on a fixed income. The tech asked if I wanted to purchase the year membership plan and I did. After a few days I said to my self, wow a company that charges you 200 plus dollars to suck water from a line. Total time on site 25 minutes and a 469 dollar bill. I called to cancel my membership after 10 days and knew about the 50 dollar non refundable fee, but they charged me a 25 dollars for the 10 days I had the membership. They have very cute commercials, and the tech was nice, but there is no way to contact a manager or owner as there is no email. I too will speak the word to NOT USE FRANK GAY to everyone I meet in my condo. I agree that his company says they are the best in Orlando, but it appears to me their prices are out of line with other companies. Or maybe they pray on Senior Citizens and single women as in a previous review. All lI asked was for a full refund of the membership less the 50 dollars they have to keep because they did not screw you enough on the service call. NEVER AGAIN.

Had used Frank Gay electrical recently with no problems.
Had Frank Gay AC come to my house today for a $89 diagnostic check since my outside unit hadn't worked since the hurricane and hadn't really been cooling before.
Technician Javier Guerreiro had found a burnt wire in the outside unit and got the fan running and then tried to charge me $239 to repair a wire connector that I did not authorize without even hooking up a set of guages to check the refrigerant level or the pressures.
Poor Service!
We just had a great experience with our Frank Gay technician Christian Jones. He was prompt, very professional, and had the heart of a teacher, which was excellent since we knew very little about our outlet problem. He performed diagnostic testing, checking our switches, outlets, and the panel, all the while explaining what he was doing and why. I would highly recommend him! I felt he was very honest and will request him for any future electrical calls.
I had a copper pipe break for my water house outside. I paid the $129 for the emergency service to have them come out. Soooo the guy comes says he needs to replace the entire pipe quotes me over $2000. Mind you i do building maintenance for a living hence me not wanting to do it myself, and just pay someone to braze a 1/2 inch pipe to a T fitting and call it a day. So after i got the quote i politely declined and laughed. Went to the hardware store bought a piece of 1/2 inch pipe, brazed it myself. Cost me about 50 bucks all said and done. They are definitely rip off artist! Do not waste your money!
My fault totally for not checking out the reviews here first - before I selected to do business with Frank Gay. Poor due diligence on my part. Bottom line, I needed an electrical switch replaced for my garbage disposal. The entire episode from arrival to completion was about 25 minutes. At least 10 of those minutes were spent with their rep showing me 5-6 different pricing options and how he was offering their lowest package south of $400.00. At the completion of the job, the total was $385 for actual work of 15 minutes TOPS. RUN, do not walk away from this business. Just for grins, I called a couple of local electrical repair businesses and their quoted prices (ranges) were 60-70% less..
Frank Gay's service was excellent and very fairly priced. This is my second time using them - I called and they sent Emmanuel over. Him and his team were polite, amazing and their service was professional. Highly recommend!
Bob , Isaac, and the rest of the team are the most professional, and respectful team I have ever encountered. They were attentive to detail reliable. Emmanuel took his time to explain my problem, and explained the solution thoroughly, patiently going through every step. I spoke to other plumbing services before going with with Frank Gay. I would hire them again and recommend them to anybody who needs and wants excellent service.
Called and left a message about getting a quote on a new A/C system. Received two follow up calls to get my information and address and was told a technician would be on their way. Never heard from anyone. No one showed up. Guess they couldn't be bothered with my business.

If you decide to use their plumbing services ask for Curtis. He is a hard worker and gets the job done. He's the only reason I gave two stars. Customer service was not acceptable and getting an estimate for a job proved to be a nightmare. Thankfully Curtis came out, quoted a fair weekend price, and fixed our clogged drain on a Saturday morning after another plumber from their company did not come and quoted a different price. After many phone calls and talking to the manager, we were offered a discount for the job, and were satisfied with the job Curtis performed. He had to snake the drain from our roof to unclog it. Unfortunately, we had water damage in our kitchen overnight because the first plumber did not want to come out at 5:30 to fix the issue. He said if we waited till Saturday 8-12:00 the price is cheaper because it's considered regular working hours. He said he'd be at our house around 9am to unclog it. He did not show up. Frank Gay had Curtis call us and we agreed for him to come. He was there at 12:30 and stayed till around 2:00 working on the clog. The other plumber in their company ruined our impression of the company and has put a negative view of their services. He should not be employed by Frank Gay. Thankfully, young Curtis was able to mend fences and do the work promised. Had we not pushed and called many many times, we would NOT have had a good outcome. So, be wary, if you do call on them, make sure you know who is answering the call. Some of their employees are not trustworthy. Buyer beware.

What a nightmare!! Anytime your air goes out and don't have ac for 5 days but is comparable to my experience! My appointment for install was 8-9a I get a call around 9a and was told they guys were out until midnight and will be there at 11a. Ok no problem. 11,12, 115 went buy without hearing anything. I called and was I hold for 15 mins before customer service answered. She told me a tech was on scene. I told her I have cameras all over my property and no one was here. 138 they finally arrived. I ended up cooking them dinner as it was late. It's now 914 still no air, they can't figure out how to connect our nest thermostat, and spoke to me like I was unintelligent. They attempted to tell me that there wasn't the correct wiring. I asked them if they ran new electrical, they didn't. So I explained that if the same wires were there that it will work. They tried to tell me I need to charge the unit. The nest gen 3 does not charge, it plugs into the base. Now they are trying to install the $20 thermostat of theirs on top of the google nest base...They didn't put their air filter where we agreed to during the walkthrough and contract signing. I asked them while they were installing the new riser of they were going to put the filter there as agreed. He stated: oh well I already put the drain pipe in.. sooo... It's to the point it's just comical. They also left the door open all day knowing we have a cat here. COVID precautions? Naw, no mask or anything. Not the service you would expect spending that amount of money to a company who has been around since 1976!

It appears that Frank Gay and Kiley plumbing have become one and the same. We had a leak in the wall in our garage. When their representative came out he told us we had to call Sleuth to locate the exact source of the leak. Isn't that what a plumber does??? Sleuth came out and marked the spot where the leak supposedly was and they charged $350.00 for that. A different Frank Gay came back out and plumber comes out. After too much verbiage this man told us we needed the entire house replumbed to the tune of ONLY $11,555 (WHAT???) and that figure did not even include a new hot water heater! I told him that would not happen in my lifetime. He also tried to sell us an annual plumbing service contract. Then he said (without any embarrassment) that he had 30 years of plumbing experience under his belt and was not going to fix the leak because he could not guarantee the work. Another WHAT???
The following day the Frank Gay Company called to ask if we had any questions and when would we like them to begin the work of replumbing the house. Yeah, right!
To make a long story shorter (because there is much more than what I've written), we ended up calling a qualified man who worked for himself and has his own plumbing business. He repaired the leak quickly and all is fine.
If anyone needs a plumber, do NOT call Frank Gay under any circumstances. They are bad news, expensive, and not honorable.
STAY AWAY
They quoted me on an ac system replacement. Quoted the same {manufacturer and model) replacement unit as a couple of other reputable local companies. For some reason they were thousands of dollars higher (over 40%) than the best quote and more than 30% higher than any other quote.
As soon as I mentioned this to their representative, he wanted to start negotiating. I felt like I was dealing with a less than reputable used car dealer.
I live in Orlando. I don't know why it showed San Francisco.

I just had another leak detection company come out. Guess what... the cost was what they quoted me $350.
Here is where it gets good. Frank Gay wanted to charge me $800 to run a slab scanner equipment. The company that came out not only confirmed ALL is in the attic or crawl space and NONE of it runs through my slab. But the leak was actually occurring in my irrigation system. So why did Frank Gay service tell me it was in my house? Why would Frank Gay want to charge me $800 to run equipment that was never necessary??
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE UNETHICAL AND UNTRUSTWORTHY!
Even the manager that called me, wanted to argue with me about the cost and service needed. He even went as far as to blame me for what I asked for when I called. What I asked for on the phone was to find a leak in my house that caused my water bill to jump up to $700. Guess I need to be a certified plumber to properly communicate with them.
I have not been this frustrated with a company in over 10 years. Please be very careful in dealing with this company. They are not worth it.
DO NOT HIRE FRANK GAY!
If there was a way to rate this 0 stars, we would.
This may be long but needs to be out there.
We purchased a family plan which included twice annually toilet maintenance. Scheduled one of these for 6/27/23 as well as having an existing sink faucet replaced with same brand/model as a handle was sticking. Inquired when scheduling if there were any additional parts we needed to purchase for sink as we had the replacement here. Answer was '...no, the technicians have parts on the truck'. Ok...GREAT.
Upon arrival, the technician was surprised, it was his 2nd day alone (not his fault) and intended this to be regular maintenance for the toilet and was surprised with the sink. After shutting the water off, identified there was a part he needed that he did not have on the truck and had to go to the supplier (30 min each way). Came back, started to assemble and advised us, there were parts for the bottom of the faucets that did not come with and we would have to order, we would be without the one sink and they would have to come back...BUT WAIT! We asked in advance if we needed to order anything and advised by the call center, they have all the parts on the truck that would be needed. Inquired if he could call the supplier to see if they had the parts, he did, they did, another 60 min round trip. The sink is put together and now onto the toilet maintenance.
Mind you...as mentioned, there are NO issues with the toilet at this point, flushes fine, fills fine, just a little whistle when it's filling but since we purchased the plan and have 2 annually, we are going to go ahead and use one since they will be here.
Next thing we know the tank is being taken off..?????!!!! Technician went to check to see if he had the correct bolt sizes on truck....
All seems to be done after a grueling 5 1/2 hours.
WE turned the sink faucets on prior to technician leaving, no water. He fixed that. Flushed the toilet, it flushes. Again, the process took about 5 1/2 hours.
Fast forward to 2:15am 6/28/23 when I went to the restroom.....only to find the toilet room and starting into the main bathroom area COMPLETELY FLOODED! Immediately shut the water off. Water was coming from the bottom of the tank. Spent the middle of the night cleaning this up and contacting Frank Gay back.
We asked for a manager to call us, advised they receive a task and someone would call us back to discuss. NO CALL. Received a call from scheduling about 7am 6/28/23 someone would be out about 8.
Upon arrival, the technician identified differing size bolts used in tank. Repaired. Flushed the toilet 3 times, works, tank not leaking..all seems good.
Fast forward now to 4:00amEST Thurs 6/29/23...Get up, use the restroom. Toilet room 3/4 way flooded! Shut the water off again, begin the clean-up a 2nd time. Did not hear from anyone so called back, advised soonest someone would be out today is 12:00 ish due to a department meeting.
So here we sit after paying OVER $1,000. for routine maintenance and faucet replacement with a bathroom we are unable to use, no call from anyone in management and no idea when someone will show up.
I'm not sure how Frank Gay can be ok with this. It's horrible and expensive. I highly recommend finding someone else. We now will be down 2 full days for something that should have taken at BEST 2 hours. HORRIBLE!
October 4 are called Frank Gays services A gentleman showed up and told my mom they had to replace the main breaker box the Jacuzzi outlet and the AC unit needed some kind of brake replacement because it was outdated on October 7 hey shut up and they did all the work or I want it was a generator outlet oh when they started the work and replaced everything with power surges in the house and replace the meter box upon replacing the meter box They never turned off the main power somebody could've gotten seriously hurt this was per inspectors information From October seventh it took them three weeks to come in place the generator trigger switch they set up appointments I never showed up never called I had to constantly calls so somebody could show up nobody responded to my calls always respond to my calls Today October 15 was the full inspection Which distilling inspector had to turn into a partial because Permit has to be amended due to them charging for a 200 outlet and a 150 outlet he also wanted more paperwork because the way the system is set up does not match the picture of the set up currently my mom could lose her electricity due to Frank Gays Services not doing the right job but they are charging me almost $10,000 for a job that has not been completed and was not done right I would never recommend this company to anyone I've been stressed for the past month and a half and I still can't get not a manager or supervisor or anyone to give me a call every time I call they tell me they will get back to me this has been an ongoing game with this company.

They are crooks. Told me a verbal estimate of $350 and when work done gave me a bill for $678. This is completely unethical. Stay away. Don't make the mistake I made. They were very convincing they were fair but proved to be liars.
DO NOT USE THEM!!!!
I wonder how they sleep at night.
We called on a Sunday 12/18/22 for Septic tank service at our home- needed to be pumped Unable to use at all They took my $129 over the phone, in advance, to set up the service. An hour and half later, phoned me that they do not perform septic services in Orlando any longer. Fine, I understood and they will refund my $129 (why they still charged it I have no idea) Well now it is December 28th and STILL NO REFUND TO MY CARD. I mean seriously 10 days for a refund for service YOU cancelled. You should have never even let the charge go through, it was early enough to cancel. I would under 2-3 days OK but 10 DAYS and still NO refund.
Worst customer service. They don't communicate the information for time and date of services. Then when you contact them, they refuse to perform the service. Uninformed service men. Liars about how they handle their process and have no respect for customers time. They expect you to wait for them.
My AC was leaking (although working fine) so I called Frank Gay. A young guy came who said he'd never seen a unit like ours before (I live in a big condo complex downtown) and claimed the whole thing needed to be replaced. Hours after he left we realized the AC stopped working and there were some bolts he never put back on. We called Frank Gay back and they sent an emergency technician out late that night. He discovered the first technician had left the breaker off in the closet. He said our unit didn't need to be replaced. Luckily they refunded me for the services. We called Seasonal Air per the recommendation of my property manager and they knew exactly what was wrong, fixed it immediately, and confirmed we don't need to replace it. Call Seasonal Air instead!

I would not hire this company to do anything in my house again. Their office quoted me $129 to come and evaluate all the damage done by a large power surge. The electrician called on his way that he wouldn't come unless he got $299. I questioned why it was now more than double. He said it was now $299. I would have hired someone else. I had waited days for the company to send an electrician to come and another week would have been a problem. I should have cancelled. Mediocre evaluation. He said he couldn't check appliances or air conditioning which were my big concerns. He said he could only spend two hours. He spent less than that and changed the burned ceiling fan box (not really needed when examined) within that time. Then he gave me a
bill for $399. I was not told of an additional $99 charge for the box, but would
have paid for the part. I found this to
be very upsetting. The manager would not correct this. Beware!
Made appointment, and took the afternoon off as they gave a 1-5 PM window. At 4:45 PM they called and said the plumber won't make it today. Did not reschedule with them. This is not a reputable company.
I can't tell you about Frank Gay as a man, but the gentleman the company sent out to help us with our broken AC, Imtiaz Omi, was AWESOME. He was so friendly and personable, thorough, patient, genuine, and was simply a pleasure to have in our home; it was almost like having a friend over who also fixed our AC- probably wasn't like that for him LOL Poor guy was working, but he made me feel comfortable having a stranger in my home and I'm typically full of anxiety until a repair person leaves. Idk what the company pays him, and I don't care, it should be more because he is the reason we'll recommend this company's services to everyone. Thanks Imtiaz!!
STAY AWAY from FRANK GAY!!
I have used this company more than once though the years and each time I have paid an exorbitant amount of $$ for extremely easy services. I will NEVER use them again for anything. Our last service call simply to add a/c coolant to a system that is barely 2 years old. Tech insisted there might be a leak so he checked for leaks and found none, nada. Ended up costing me a whopping $700 for a 10 minute service call. Utterly ridiculous!
Once upon a evening flush, the water in my toilet refused to rush.
I called every plumber I found in the book, and sat back to see how long it took.
Frank Gay was the first to respond, and of their customer service I was very fond.
They sent a gentleman to my abode, with the hopes that he could fix my commode.
The man in the van listened to me explain, and quickly assessed the problem with the main drain.
Moments later, the snake went down the pipe, and a few moments later I was filled with hype.
Simple, fast, and courteous this man was, and explained that tree roots were the cause.
He offered up several plans of attack, and said, if it happens again, just call me back.
-
Essentially, I had tree root grow into the main drain which caused household issues. The plumber took time to explain the pros and cons of re-piping everything. He explained that there were people that had yearly services that kept everything flowing. He was jovial without being crude. He was courteous without being saccharine.
He was generally just a nice freaking guy that did a great job.
Absolutely terrible. The tech was very polite and professional but relies on tablet for pricing. He knew a simple snake to unclog was needed his system tried to chatge over $520. 835 plumbing companies surveyed on google indicated on average for this service is $230. Worse then a unlicensed auto mechanic overcharging
To the companies credit they attempted to address my concerns . I was told I would receive a call back, but that was a week ago. Even it was to say we went over the pictures with the team would have been better then not calling. Nice try.

This company's charges are criminal. I had three residential plumbing issues worked by Frank Gay last week: replace a wax ring on a toilet, supply & install a kitchen garbage disposal unit, install a kitchen tap (supplied by me). Total cost $1,649. Less materials provided by them -$224, that's $1,425 in labor. The tech was in my home for 3 hours - that's $475/hour.
Just ponder that for a minute - $475/hour for a plumber.
By comparison, I'm having some plumbing work done at my father's home in Volusia County this week: the licensed, bonded and insured plumber that I'm using there charges me a T&M rate of $120/hour + parts. So, honest companys do still exist, but Frank Gay Services LLC certainly isn't one of them.
...
The company's customer experience specialists, who are obviously kept extremely busy based on the quantity of awful reviews they receive (you should see the BBB reviews), offered me a 15% refund to sign a waiver and to go away. I was overcharged by $1,000 - I don't deem an offer of a $247 refund to be acceptable. I now take it upon myself as a responsible citizen and consumer advocate to share my experience with the wider community. Orlando residents: do not use Frank Gay Services LLC - they will charge you four times the market labor rate for plumbing services (not 10% more, not 50% more, but rather FOUR TIMES the market rate).

Liars. All I have to say. They came out, barely looked at my leak and then said I needed all new pipes for $2,000. I called the manager complained and they sent a second tech out. He damaged a pipe by smashing it with a shovel and fixed it. I called another larger company who fixed it, were amazingly helpful and charged me $200 and said my pipes in the rest of my house were fine. LIARS!

Tech. was awesome! Knowledgeable, friendly and explained everything necessary to resolve issue. However, Frank Gay Services is WWWWAY overpriced. Talk about sticking it to the man. My tech. didn't even spend more than $15 in parts, repair to less than 45 minutes (most was glue drying time) and was charged over $500. That's after my Tech adjusted original quote of $750+ He gave me a break because he thought original fix was going to take longer. RIPOFF!!!
Total RIP-OFF !!! Trying to monopolize repair/service industry.
I was bedridden at that time at the hospital when my wife told me that AC handler unit in our garage was leaking and creating a puddle of water. I told her to call for service as I cannot do anything about it. She looked up online and of course, the first thing came up was FRANK GAY Services. I told her to contact them to ask for opinion. Just for them to show up, already has a fee. Anyway, the first guy who showed up was apparently as estimator and looked at the issue. He told my wife that the issue could be a major one. The leak may have gotten backed up inside the house and that might need a water leak restoration. Also, the whole AC handler unit has to be changed as it's causing the leak. If not attended immediately might get worse. He even mentioned that the water heater was also very old that it has to be replaced, if not, can cause another issue too. The estimate given was $6400. On the estimate, the guy said, I need to sign up for an annual maintenance with them so I can save some money. That's their way of making you stick with them and to continue ripping you off. I was shocked and my wife got panicked. So I agreed for them to proceed with the work. I told my wife to have me on facetime as the technicians were working so I can monitor. As I watched them working on our AC handler, the guy just cleaned the inside but not even changed the whole unit as we were told. The technician said that there is no need to change it as was just dirty. I asked them also to check whether the leak had backed up inside the house, and they did which luckily it actually dry. As for the water heater, I had changed it as well with new one just to prevent further headache in the future.
I've contacted their main office and reported what happened and asked them to adjust the repair cost as the estimate was completely way high off. They have given me a round-around and I told them I will file a formal complaint to the Federal Bureau of Consumer Protection. That' the only time they made the necessary adjustment.
Here comes the good part. Since they made me sign up for an annual maintenance. I took advantage of it. I had their technician checked the AC handler. The technician couldn't even speak full sentence of English (sorry, not trying to be racist) but how can they even explain to the customers what is going on. The only thing he did was to flush the drain line of the AC handler with hot boiling water. That is when I figured that I need to do prevent it from clogging up, instead of using just vinegar (which I used to do before), I have been doing that once a month and never got a same problem. They still keep calling me for follow up maintenance and I told me I am not interested anymore as I was very disappointed with their service but they still keep calling so I blocked their number.
So please, don't fall for victims for them.
I called to have someone come to my house and rewire some lights under my kitchen cabinets. I had called another company that I had used before and it took three weeks of phone calls, and they still didn't respond. So, I saw a Frank Gay truck in my neighborhood and decided to give them a call. Amazingly, a technician was available the same day. John came out and analyzed my problem, and although the exact parts were not readily available, he suggested an alternate solution that work perfectly. Additionally, I asked him to install some landscape lighting that was not part of the original reason that I called for service. He did both jobs and even installed a lightning surge protector the same day.
From my initial phone call to completion of the jobs, I could not be more pleased. Thanks to John and thanks to Frank Gay Services.

Big project with a lot of 1950s house issues. Frank Gay team did everything they could to get right by me no matter how many trips or issues arises.
Breaker Box replaced. Bad wire replaced. Several new/improved outlets.
Although the project was expensive in total, Frank Gay team members Erick Nieves, Shelby Bailey, Marcus Williams, J.J., and Customer Service rep Rachel saw it through to the end.
Cannot recommend. Since the merger this company has changed. We've used them a lot in the past, but will not ever again. We had bought a new AC unit from them, and less then 2 years later it's got a leak and the coil needs replaced...supposedly. So either they are lying or they are selling bad equipment.,. Plus we had the maintenance plan which counts for nothing. Got another quote from someone else to replace the coil and it was 1/3 of what FG quoted., RIP OFF! Like seriously devious and horrible customer service.
We had Frank Gay install 4 new faucets (bathrooms and kitchen) in our new home due to a remodel. They offered a year's maintenance program of $149 to cover 2-6 month visits for pluming and HVAC and also receive 10% off the cost of the faucet install. The faucets ending up costing $1013 but were installed incorrectly. The plumbing in the kitchen was cut too short and fell apart in days flooding under my sink. Another tech came out and corrected the previous job. He did a good job. When the plumbing and HVAC techs came to do the maintenance the plumbing tech wanted $2200-$2800 to replace my hot water tank and the hvac tech quoted $3370 to replace my platform that my hvac sits on even though the platform was sound. I had Duke energy perform an energy analysis on my house and he took pictures of the coils on my unit. The inside of my coils were very dirty. When I showed the pictures to Courtney and her supervisor at Frank Gay they said that the tech did basic cleaning of the coils and that if I wanted a deeper cleaning done there would be a cost. The tech never mentioned that they coils were dirty and that a deeper cleaner would be needed. Its unbelievable that he left my unit so dirty and never mentioned that additional cleaning is needed. I'm glad I had the energy analysis done by Duke or I would have never known. Buyer beware. I will be looking for another company.
I will start by saying the technician was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and did good work. HOWEVER, the charge is absolute highway robbery. Long story short, he replaced about a 6 inch length of above ground PVC pipe (no digging, no drilling). It took less than 30 minutes and the charge was $525.00. Did I sign off on it? Yes. I needed my water back on and it would have been too long to get someone else out here. That's on me. But I will never use this company again and would advise everyone to look elsewhere. Competitive pricing? What a joke.

Posting this terrible review everywhere I can because this company is catastrophically terrible.
AS OF 11/5/2022: I needed an emergency A/C replacement after my old one died on me. My original review, just after Frank Gay installed my new A/C unit, was quite positive. That was three months ago. Fast forward to now, and the company has been stringing me along; I have had my inspections fail twice and still have not gotten my permits closed because they refuse to take accountability for what they failed to do correctly in the first place and I have been chasing them down trying to fix this problem. I have contacted their customer service, not exaggerating, nearly 20 times in three months trying to get this resolved. They keep giving empty promises someone will call me back to schedule service appointments and inspections, but I don't hear back. I call again, same thing. Finally, after a few times calling for each issue they assure me that they will send someone out. I have had them schedule service appointments that the tech didn't even show up for.
I have been desperately trying to get them to fix the issues that they caused, and it is always me who has to contact them several times before anything gets done. Throughout this process, the only proactive thing they did for me was rob me of $20,000 for this A/C unit that was extremely over priced, or try to use the shady family maintenance plan to try and get someone out here to do maintenance, but all the person does is look around, find things wrong, and then try to coerce you into paying for the fixes. That's not a maintenance plan, that's just them trying to claim more money out of your pocket.
Last week I was expecting a call back from customer service, one of the many times they promised to call me back, and I finally received a voicemail from them from a guy named Josh. I called Josh back, and he was trying to schedule an electrical maintenance appointment. I told him at that point that I don't need maintenance, I need them to send the county inspector out here so I can get this permit closed, and he said oh that's not my department and then didn't even offer to transfer me, he just ended the call.
I can't even sufficiently put into words how incompetent they are at everything post-install. The only thing they care about is getting the revenue from the sale, they don't care at all about doing it right the first time, or making sure the subsequent administrative aspects of installing the equipment or fixing their mistakes is taken care of. Never again will I use Frank Gay, and I will never refer them to anyone I know because three months of chasing them down has been frustrating and exhausting.
All of this because they didn't change the breakers in the panel upon install. They came and fixed one breaker from when the first inspection failed (after several attempts to contact them and get someone out here) and then to get the follow-up inspection I had to try several more times to get them to schedule it with the county. Once the second inspection failed due to a SECOND breaker that was wrong, I tried several more times to contact them until they sent another tech out to change the second one. Now I am CURRENTLY on hold with customer service (this is call number 5 trying to get them to send the third inspector out), and they are trying to figure out with the manager what the status of this is. Absolutely wild to me how terrible of an experience this has been.
Just after I typed that paragraph ^ I was automatically redirected to a voicemail box from being on hold status and then was hung up on. They also charged me $1,400 for a different service (WAY OVER PRICED), which included just using a pressure washer in my drainage, and that was AFTER the tech gave me 50% off the original quote.
UPDATE AS OF TODAY 11/9: Called twice since 11/5 and sent an email to a woman who helped me with one of my appointments early on in the process. I FINALLY received a call to schedule my inspection for this Friday. Let's hope that actually happens and that we get the permit closed.

I had a simple kitchen sink snake job the average in my area is $225 and they charged me $530. I thought I'd give them a try I own 10 rental houses over 25 years and the most I've paid was around $200, be were there twice the cost. I can honestly say I won't ever use them again.
This company charges four times what other plumbers in this area charge for residential plumbing repairs. I am not kidding, 4X, it happened to me, it's happened to lots of other central Florida residents, do your research, read the reviews. Call someone else, anyone else.
Sarah, you had your chance to make it right! The company's policy of offering a maximum refund amount of 15% to dissatisfied customers, to keep them quiet, doesn't even come close ...

The plumber cheated on us and charged us $256. He said he changed the old cartiage in our shower but he wants to break in the wall to change the valve which cost us $1500.
He is trying to reap us off.

Had an issue with the a/c unit that Frank Gay installed. It was making a screeching loud noise. FG sent a technician out. $89 later the tech said it's not making noise now so no issue. Absolute waste of money and time.
Called multiple times to wrong phone number to collect a bill that belongs to some other person, and then got mad and abusive when I told him to stop or I was calling the phone company/police. Extremely rude person. Luckily I have never done business with this firm and now I never will.
ABSOLUTELY the worst company I've ever had the poor luck to experience. I had plumbing work done and paid for their extended service plan. I needed an AC service (included as part of the plan). I tried to book but the earliest appointment was TWO months out. I called and explained to the manager and customer service rep I needed it earlier due to my AC not blowing cold. They were able to book a date one month out but that was the best they could do. I was worried because the date is a Saturday but they said they guarantee it would done even though it was a Saturday. I receive a text to confirm my appointment the day before and I confirmed. Well the today comes (July 29) and no one shows up. I contact them and they said it was booked incorrectly by the rep and there is nothing they can do and now the next appointment is the end of October. Well I WON'T need AC then. Its 90+ degrees and a problem They also said I could PAY to schedule a regular visit if I needed it earlier even though that should be included as part of my service tune up plan THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR. The rep spoke to the manager on duty said tough there is nothing they can do. People, do NOT do business with a company just doesn't care about their customers. Its not acceptable that you make an appointment, confirm an appointment, they don't show and they just don't care unless you PAY MORE money. I wish I could give them minus zero starts. I rarely write reviews and do everything to give a company the opportunity to correct an issue. I have them three chances but with their attitude I feel the need to warn others. There are so many other options that I will warn ALL I can to stay away from Frank Gay Services.
I had a problem with my AC that was freezing over and not blowing hot air. I called the number (it was about 7pm) and they were able to make an appointment to come out the next day (4-8) or Saturday (1-4). I also had a water shut off valve that needed to be replaced because it was rusted and broken off which was then scheduled the following morning (10-1). I was happy about the response time because having no AC in Florida is brutal but when I asked how much it might be for a new unit I was told that only the technicians can assess estimates, which makes sense but there should at least be prince ranges.
The next morning the technician for the water shut off valve came out, around 10:30 so not too bad on time, looked at it, quoted me $400 because it had to be repiped. I was kind of hesitant because of the price but I agreed to it because I need this replaced. They have me sign the iPad and 2 minutes later tells me he can't do it because he can't shut the meter water off and I have to deal with OUC and they'll come back out. I figured ok that's fine, then they proceed to charge me $45 for the dispatch fee and I'm dumbfounded, you preach no dispatch fees but even when you agree to something and they can't do it I still get charged? That was already a strike.
Then the AC technician came out the following day around 4, just to tell me my AC unit is old and needs to be replaced. I figured ok how much? And he proceeded to sit with me at my kitchen table and show me 20 different guarantees that they offer, 10 year parts, 1 year labor, price back guarantee, etc. that part took at least 5 minutes. Then shows me the price. $12,000 for a 2 ton unit. I was dumbfounded. I see why they don't give any estimates over the phone because if I would have heard that's what they charge on Thursday I would have told them not to even bother looking at it. Oh and I had to pay a $85 dispatch fee.
Moral of the story, if you want a fast response time , call them because they are quick with their responses. But just know you are going to be paying high prices to compensate for their no dispatch fee that they waive only if they do the work you're quoted. I'm giving 2 stars because they should really give price estimates over the phone because otherwise I wouldn't have wasted money on the AC person. And also if they can't do the job they said they can do we shouldn't get charged the dispatch fee, that's not on me.
Needless to say, after a couple calls, I found another company with the same AC guarantees for half the price.
These guys are crooks. The guy came over, didn't know how to fix my leaky faucet, now they won't me to pay $80 for nothing. I called better plumber he fixed it in 30 minutes and charged me $100 for everything.
Well, let me add my voice to the negative reviews here. They are off the charts dishonest. Needed a new water heater. Charged $39 for an in person price quote, fine, even though most plumbers will quote you a price over the phone. The tech that came to my house asked if I was a veteran. I said yes and he said he was going to give me a special discount. $2000 for a water heater install. Even Lowes and Home Depot are cheaper by about $500. Wound up using the Village Plumber. They're price for an install was $1280 but I bought my own unit for $439 and Village charged $450 to install it. The tech used to work for Kiley and Sons but when they were merged with Frank Gay he quit which should tell you something. I would not use these people for anything.

These guys are ridiculous. Right after they provide service for our community, I have my irrigation lines back up with sand. There are two breaks in my lines and multiple sprinkler heads backed up with sand. Takes me two weeks and 5 phone calls for them to finally get someone with me. They tell me some crock about how irrigation works and how the line receives so much pressure that it will happen over time. I'm sorry, two breaks at the same time a day after their work seems to be a little more than a coincidence. Not sure I could ever trust their work. They explained the county won't reimburse them for anything so there is nothing they can do. God save any of you that decide to go with them.
Don't waste your time! Called for a plummer, was told someone would come between 2-5 and technician would call 30 minutes prior to arrival. At 4:30 I called back to let them know that no one has called or shown up. Jackie advised she took my # down wrong and someone would show up between 7-7:30. I asked Jackie if we would be charged extra for being after hour, even though they screwed up. She said no. At 8pm STILL NO CALL OR REPAIR GUY. So, we called AGAIN! Got after hour dispatch, she took our info AGAIN and someone would call us
Finally, David called. He couldn't tell us if we were put on a list or not and HE WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE US AN EXTRA $40 PER HOUR if he came out. Then we would have to go back and fight for our money back. Will be calling Roto Rooter in the morning...or ANYBODY ELSE BESIDES FRANK GAY SERVICES!!!!

We were experiencing a lot of electrical issues in our home and, to be perfectly honest, I was dreading the call because I knew this wasn't going to be cheap. Frank Gay services dispatched Saul to our residence. Although at first glance he may appear a little rough, he is extremely professional and very qualified to do the work. He spent 3 1/2 hours at our home, assessing every issue, and would not quit until he found a remedy. He offered us options and educated us through the entire process. If you call for electrical services, ask for Saul!
Nick came out and did a wonderful job. He quickly diagnosed my situation and presented an affordable treatment plan. Nick is awesome!

I had water under my kitchen cabinet on Thanksgiving Day. I scheduled this Company to come out on Monday to avoid OT and Holiday charges. I explained to the operator that it was something simple but I had shoulder surgery on 10/29 and was unable to get on the floor to diagnose. They said the tech would be here between noon and 5 PM. the trip charge would be $79. the tech did not arrive until almost 5 PM. I told him what I thought was wrong, it seemed the garbage disposal was coming loose. He confirmed this was the case, walked out to his truck and came back with a flashlight and channel locks and tightened the disposal. He was inside my home for 5 mins. It took him longer to fill out his paperwork in his truck in my driveway. Long story short I ended up with an invoice in the amount of $179.00 the charges of $140.00 labor and a 36.00 trip charge and a 3.00 charge for misc. consumables? I have attempted to call this business 2x since he was here but both times I was put on hold and waited 5 minutes and 7 minutes. I will never ever use this Company again. While I was on-hold I heard Frank Gay himself tell me how great this business is and focused on customer service, several times!
It was like being held hostage by our want for AC. First guy came out and fixed the AC. He was told that the drain lines were backed up before the AC had been down for a day and he needed to clear them. He dumped some chemicals down there and left. AC only stayed in for a hour before shutting down due to backed up drain line. We called to have him come back out and he said it would be $120 for him to come back out again and $250 to blow out the lines. We ended up having someone come back out the next day who was great and fixed the issue but was stuck charging us the exorbitant amount of previous techs quote over the phone. When we called management to complain they said all they could do is give us a possible discount on future service. Why would we ever want to call them back out after that?!?! If you use these guys you are taking your chances.

Called to get electrical work done and a quote for another project. They sent someone within that hour! His name was Lucius and he was very nice and explained everything in detail. He did great work.
We have had Frank Gay Plumbing out to our house for both plumbing and air conditioning issues on several occasions. They are always professional, courteous, on time and reasonably priced. We will definitely continue to use them again in the future. This family owned business goes above and beyond!

Had to change my rating after a miserable experience trying to get information from their office.
Frank gay gets 5 stars for sure!!!! Paul is the Best!!!!!! Super professional, and always willing to go the extra mile!!!! We have been using Frank Gay for years, and won't call anyone else!!! Thank you guys!!!
They are just interested in selling financing on a brand new system. They quoted me an astronomical price for an AC fan motor, saying that was the best price they could get on the OEM part. I went to Air and Aero for a quote of the same part, and they installed a replacement for half the price.. a difference of $800. I tried many, many times to reach customer service with no response.

Oh my word, I cannot recommend this company. They have been to my house 10 times on a new AC. It is drain is clogged...okay that was 4 times, if we put in a $900 pump it will work okay I have it installed. I go out of town two weeks come back my system shows fail in 72 hours. It is always something else. Thousands of dollars on a ONE year old system! Oh and the Family Member I have paid twice in 3 months and by the way, there is no help, no discount, not sure what that was for. No matter what they charge a 129 service call
I feel like I called Frank Gay to have someone come by my house last night to pick up $39.00 for absolutely nothing.
I called and spoke to Tyler yesterday morning who told me there would be a service charge for someone to come out, but if they found something wrong - I wouldn't pay the service fee of $39.00, just the cost of the job. Which is totally reasonable. He said that he would have someone come out between 4 and 8. Jose came to the house at 7:15pm and said straight away as he entered the house that I will be charged the $39.00 regardless if he finds something wrong or not. He told me the Dispatchers are always doing this and giving out wrong information. I pointed out the three areas of concern and he said he could take a look but it would cost $291.00 to trouble shoot. But if he fixed anything it would be the cost of having it fixed as well. He told me I should re schedule for a morning since I had so much work for him to do and that he had already worked on 3 jobs that day.
I tried to call back today to explain my frustration. I asked for the Supervisor and the woman on the phone said she could help. I don't think she understood half of what I was saying and at the end told me she would give this to her manager. Well, didn't I just ask for your Manager/Supervisor at the beginning of the conversation?
Color me annoyed and out $40.00 for NOTHING!
- Sarah called me this morning and apologized for the above incident. She said sometimes mistakes are made, but Frank Gay stands behind their customers. I changed my rating to 4 stars from 1 because of Sarah's follow up. She took the time to listen to my story and is refunding me the 39.00. I have already hired someone else to fix my electrical problems and everything is working again, otherwise I would have considered having another technician come out to the house based on Sarah representation of the company.
Thank you Sarah!
Called to replace a toilet water line valve and the plumer didnt know how to do it. He end up replacing the the opening and closing part of the valve because he could not remove the old valve. He never gave me the other part of the valve after I paid for it. Make sure to pay after the work is done and that everythin is include in the invoice to include the teplacement part.

I am a property manager and I hire various contractors in the cities where I manage. These guys are probably the worst of any contractor I've ever used. I will usually give most companies two jobs before moving on to someone else. The customer service is abysmal. The plumbers who did the two jobs that I did give to them were under educated for what they were doing... In the end I had to get someone else to finish the job I had paid them for.
I received a more threatening response via private message. It's sounds similar to what another reviewer has also posted.
Here is what I received privately:
Ryan G:
Business Manager
We are having our attorney look into this issue. If you're a real customer, prove it. If not, you may be open to a law suit if it turns out you're slandering our company as either an ex employee or competitor.
The technician came out to diagnose my air conditioning unit because it was leaking. He claimed the coils needed to be cleaned and it would cost $1600 to clean. I told him that I could replace the unit for that amount! He claimed I did not pay for the diagnostic of $129.00, however I told him that their policy was to pay in advance for after hours! Anyhow, the job is actually a $200-400 job! Warning!!!! Do not allow them to rip you off. I will never use this company in the future.
They have been to my house twice. They were hired by my landlord. Their customer service is pretty horrible when you call to speak to someone, but what has really made me take time out of my day to write a yelp review is the fact that they always leave a mess after they complete a job. First it was the plumber with muddy footprints. Disgusting. Was that toilet water?! Then on the second visit an electrician left a beautiful mess on my countertops. The work was completed, unfortunately the execution from start to finish was lackluster. Though I am not in the immediate customer because I did not pay for the repairs, I will not be recommending FG to anyone and I will ask my landlord not to have them come back if I ever have a problem again.

I was opted in on the automatic renewal of $199 for the yearly maintenance contract. During the time of signing up initially I specifically said three times in a row not to opt me in for automatic renewal. Last week I found $199 renewal fee on my bank statement. I called and asked for that to be returned to me and they say it is going to take up to 14 days. I've never had any company take that long to return money. This is all a mistake on their end. The girl on the end of the phone and billing was not very nice when I told her that I have almost no money in my account because of this mistake. They don't care about their customers. Especially when they make mistakes. Not to mention that they are the most expensive plumbing company on the market. They install the toilet for $720. That's nuts
This is the most horrible experience I have had with a company. If I could rate them negative stars I would. I hired them because I had seen many commercials and advertisements. I only wanted my air ducts to be cleaned. The first time they came to clean the ducts, the maintenance guy, Ben Ortiz said it could not be cleaned because my breaker was broken. Everything was working fine before so I have nothing else to think but he broke it. After him, other technicians came and said that it was the circuit breaker that was causing problems. This wasn't true. Then, on a Monday, Carlos came to fix it but he didn't even have the circuit breaker so he then went and ordered it. While he was trying to install a new breaker, there were sparks of fire. He stopped and said that it was actually the box that needed to be replaced. He then replaced it and tried again but sparks of fire again. After that, he said that it was an electrical problem. But everything was working so I didn't understand this. He was also fixing the thermostat but ended up turning off my heat. By checking and checking, he finally realized that it was my compressor not working. So then, he tried to sell me a whole new unit for $10,300. I requested for a senior technician, David Muniz, and he was the only person I felt was an actual technician. He fixed my heat but was still trying to sell me an A/C unit. Overall, the so-called technicians that came kept misdiagnosing the actual problem when all I wanted was my air ducts to be cleaned. I do not at all recommend this company. They broke the stuff in my house just to make money. Never again.

Had an A/C repair company perform a leak check on my 11 year old central A/C unit and they found a leak on the suction line near the condenser. I received a quote from the company and it seemed very high to repair what the company said was a minor leak. I wanted to get a quote from another A/C company, but I could not get the person who was booking appointments to give me a quote per pound of R-410A refrigerant before sending out a tech, since that can be a large charge if all 10lbs are needed in my unit.
I was able to get an appointment with Best Home Services - Frank Gay for a tech to come out between 4-8pm on Tuesday. The tech Mark Dunagan arrived at about 7:10pm. We started talking about the leak and what I was quoted for by the other company and he basically confirmed that I was getting a good price quote from the other company to repair the leak as long as they also replace the filter drier and actually add all new R-410A refrigerant.
Mark spent a good 15-20 minutes with me and did not charge me for the 2nd opinion. Their non-emergency charge to send a tech was about $20 for diagnosis. I appreciate the 2nd opinion and the honesty of their pricing up front. He said it would probably be a little more if Best Home Services - Frank Gay did the same job. Thank you Mark for your time, your honesty, and for working until dusk.
Guy tried to sell me a entire new electric breaker panel before any diagnostics where done and was quoting me financing options before even looking in the panel. Shocker they wanted $12,000 worth of repairs. Called a second company to come out and they solved the problem with a $14 breaker.

Frank Gay Services should be ashamed of themselves for what they try to do to people. We were issues with an outdoor, tankless gas hot water heater. The tech told me that since the old unit was painted over, they would not be able to service it and that it would have to be replaced. Never even opened the unit to look inside. They came back with a quote for $5,600. He said we only needed the cheap one and that is what they quoted. He then said that it includes the Family Plan with 2 AC checks per year. I said I didn't ask for AC checks and he said that is ok because it is a 10% discount. Told him to get lost! The unit we need for a one-bathroom apartment is less than $800. Would never even consider calling them again!
The repiping was a two day process with a 3rd for drywall. We had a leak 5 days after the repipe and Dave came out right away on Sunday to fix it. Skip did a great job with the drywall and even did some extra patches that weren't included (but related to the repiping).

Your plumber was very professional and explained the issue with the water back up in my kitchen sink. But your price to fix the issue was just CRAZY. You charge $700 to snake a drain. The average cost for this is $150 - 350 Max. I hope the up change brings you much luck.

After having a very disappointing experience with Frank Gay Services, the customer service representative rectified the situation and I'm pleased with the outcome.
The worst company I have ever dealt with. It all started in Jan of 2014. One of my rental units needed 2 heat pumps. It took them from Jan 5 to the end of March to finish the job and in the meantime, my tenant didn't have heat in one of the coldest winters here. They charged me close to $700 for that job. Again 2 weeks ago I had issues with the same unit, they were supposed to change the whole unit because its old (cost $3350). Appointments were made, tenant took time off to be home, and guess what? They didn't show up! So this morning I cancelled the job and will NOT recommend them to anyone. Ever. The most incompetent company ever.

Started off ok...called to get a tech to come to my home to provide an estimate on installing some exterior lighting. Tech came, looked, said we would have an emailed estimate the following day, and left...two days passed and no estimate. Called the office and spoke to Alex, who set up the service call. She said she had not received anything from the tech, but would reach out to him to check and never heard back from her. I hired someone else...called Alex to tell them...I got the quote 4 days later...way over the top to compared estimates. They should just close the doors!!! WFTV Channel 9 should should stop airing their ads on Sunday...they need to read these reviews!!!!
I would be very leery of hiring this company for much of anything. I followed one of their work vans going down the road and what a disaster! I think all of the brake lights were burned out on this truck. I was afraid to keep following this van so I passed him up the first chance I got. Driver was too busy pecking away on his cell phone to worry about driving or the condition of his van. Got in front and, guess what??? Burned out headlight too! So, here is a work van with a burned out headlight, non-working brake lights, and the driver is on his cell phone??? What kind of quality work do you think they do???
Worst part is that I emailed the company with this information and zero reply back. Any integrity in this company?
I called for service on my a/c unit. Told the person (who took my service call) that my a/c didn't seem to be cooling all that well. She said they would send someone out. I asked if they keep R22 on the truck. She didn't know but would make a note on the call sheet. Young guy comes out and goes to my a/c to check pressures. Came back in two minutes to tell me I had an R22 system and that they don't service R22 anymore. Wanted me to agree to a $10K+ new system. For this I paid him $90! A total rip-off! Shame on this company. Never again will I call them.
I had a tree removal service remove shrubbery and trees from my property and they broke the septic tank drain pipe. Mr. TC of Frank Gay services took care of the problem for me very promptly and at an affordable price. He has gone over and above to make sure I am happy with the work and his courtesy and professionalism is very much appreciated. 10 Stars!!
Wonderful Service. Called in for plumbing service and in 2 hours toilet was up and running and ready for the kids. Called another company and had appointments for next day. Frank Gay same day service. Plumber was nice and worked quickly. Left area clean. Highly recommended.
DO NOT HIRE THEM! My friend is 68 years old; her husband is 82 and has dementia. They called Frank Gay Services in Orlando because the toilet was backing up into the shower. They hired Frank Gay Services to remodel the bathroom, replace the old water lines and replace the sewer line that was causing the problem. No Permits were acquired by Frank Gay Services. After paying Frank Gay Services $16,785.55, another estimate was acquired, for approximately $8,000.00 less. Frank Gay Services started the job and never finished. They were left without a shower for 4 months and 22 days. Frank Gay Services never completed the job, and after numerous attempts to be reached and an extended amount of time without a shower, they hired another plumber to finish the bathroom. The home has only one bathroom and one shower.
This case has been filed in the Orange County Courts pending litigation. These elderly people have been taken advantage of and surely did not deserve the treatment they received from Frank Gay Services. Companies like this, that treat the elderly unfairly, or anyone else for that matter should be avoided.
Frank Gays Electrical Department is SECOND to none. They are so professional and reputable. After Hurricane Irma they hung all the wires back up and always charged me fairly
Today Kevin B came out and reassured me that my electrical system was safe and looked at all the electrical panels
What sets Frank Gay apart is their customer service and their care for customers. I was so pleased with them and they are the ONLY company I call when I need help
Kevin is an amazing thorough tech

Ron Flowers did an excellent job repairing my outside hose bib. He knew exactly what had to be done and completed the job in less than two hours. He was pleasant to work with and very informative about each step of the repair. I would not hesitate to have him handle any future plumbing needs.
Ron advised me before beginning that the job could cost $369.00-but maybe less. I was told by the office that the charge for the service call was $169 to come out. Then there was to be a $99 per hour, but the $169 would be applied to the hourly charge. After the two hour job the bill was still $369.00 less 10% for senior citizen.
I am pleased with the response time and the quality of the service but the office needs to be more clear and accurate about the charges. No problem with Ron. He was exceptional.
DO NOT USE FRANK GAY PLUMBING
I had two simple plumbing issues that needed to be addressed - a leaking hose bib and a leaky toilet. Frank Gay came out and totally took advantage of my wife's inexperience with plumbing. They replaced the hose bib ($10 part and 10 minutes of labor) and charged her $298!!!! The toilet needed a part replaced in the tank ($30 part at most and 15 minutes worth of labor). Charge $394!!!! I called to complain about the charges and they basically told me tough luck - your wife paid it which means she agreed with the charges. Taking advantage of someones lack of understanding to this level is beyond unethical. Nothing I can do about this at this time except warn my fellow neighbor on social media.
So again:
DO NOT USE FRANK GAY PLUMBING!!!!!
I wish I had seen all of the 1 star reviews before we called them. It is amazing how they can continue to rip unsuspecting people off.
Sarah,
I know your job is to try and do damage control but you have an uphill battle. Please do not tell me your company strives for a five star review - they only care about unethically deceiving and gouging their customers.
Sadly, I was a customer not a competitor that you suspected. Wasted much time off of work waiting for your company to arrive and never resolve issues. Obviously turnover is a problem. The same tech never showed up twice because they left the company.
What do you think of paying almost $1,000.00 for installing a water heater under warranty. when I complained to tech he called the office and they offered me a senior discount, why didn't you do this before handing me the complete invoice?? Later in the evening of the installation a woman called from your office and I was told that the general manager and owner would give me a call. Didn't happen, I called and spoke to Paul and he said I have to have the invoice in front of me to discuss (hello the tech called you about the invoice), let me get the invoice and I will call you right back. I signed the invoice under protest and now seeing that you do not want to call back I am going to the Better Business Bureau, Channel 6 and Consumer Fraud Department for Orange County and see if I can straight this invoice out with their help.
I posted a review yesterday for Frank Gay Services and it appears to have been removed from your site. I'd like to know why. My location pinged as California - I'm not sure why ' but this post was for Winter Garden, Florida. - Edith H.
Frank Gay Service's is an excellent company. The people that they hire are the top of the line. We start with Skip who is the main contact person he takes good care of his customers and employees. Here are a few of the names Joe, Robert, David there are more but my memory. We had a leak under our kitchen slab. When my better half said she heard water running can I check and see if any taps are running nope. Oh no a leak in the kitchen tile. We decided to get all replaced by Frank Gay services. We really liked there work.
Know for what else they did we had one of those pink garden tub's well we went for a full new look. Get rid of this garden tub we did you should see what a great job for us. Hire them you will not regret it. The last one is Kevin Bispham who installed the shower light . Here are some names Brian, Richard, Skip, I can not really remember all the names. So if you hire Frank Gay Service everyone who works for them will do an excellent job.
Refuses price estimates . I asked them and they refused. Why they refuse a price list or estimates is shady
total rip off..... I have a Rinnai tankless hot water heater. the teck was on time and very professional. we went outside to the heater and he explained it would cost $270.00 to open the cover to see what was wrong. I agreed and signed work order. upon opening cover it was obvious the board had received a power surge and would need to be replaced. it was at that time he informed me that they do not have any relationships with rinnai and i should contact a Rinnai dealer and purchase the board and they would come back and install for around $600.00 . I then asked him why would you have me pay you 270.00 when you knew you could not complete the job. His answer was simple. It is the new company policy.$$$$$
If I could give negative stars, I would. We used them in a pinch, the technician broke out multiple unnecessary plans instead of assessing the situation and knowing what I actually needed. Complaints in a nutshell:
-didn't receive a copy of the contract, which was poorly reviewed
-technician did shoddy work replacing electric outlets, leaving them crooked
-said he couldn't ground 95% of our outlets without ripping up our walls (including retro hard wood planking) that he would have to go buy a saw for AND CHARGE US ANOTHER $1000 For on top of the ridiculous $3400 price tag they already had
-he did not clean up after himself fully
-slowest worker ever, took forever to do simple things.
Update: after being told that they would send someone out to fix the problems and clean up the mess (wires, debris, old outlet, etc) I agreed to give them a chance to redeem themselves. They end up sending the original technician who left the mess and caused the uneven, ungrounded outlets and tried to charge me more. I immediately canceled, I don't understand why you wouldn't send a more senior member out to show that they are capable of fixing the problem. Stay away
After attempting to fix my leaking kitchen sink with Youtube videos and making a HUGE mess, I called Frank Gay services for help. The woman I spoke to was extremely helpful and accommodating to my needs and tight time frame in which I was available. She made me aware she would have a plummer at my house and gave me a time frame. I received a phone call shortly before the plummer showed up at my home and they were right on time. The gentleman who showed up was extremely knowledgeable and was able to repair my leaking sink in a timely manner. NOT ONLY was I charged fairly, he helped me clean up the mess I had made but trying to fix the leak myself. I could not have asked for a better plummer experience. I will absolutely recommend this company to all of my friends and family!!! Keep up the great work Frank Gay! You saved my kitchen and I was able to keep my dignity. No more DIY pluming for me, Frank Gay Services to the rescue.

Came to change out a faucet, at first told me the charge was $450
Shown on his little iPad, then when I did not agree should be another category would be 250.
He changed out the faucet but did not replace the pure filter that was on the old faucet. When I called to have him come back they told me it would be an additional charge.
I would not recommend them again. He also mentioned putting a filter on the house for $8000???
I was overwhelmed with the knowledge , determination and professionalism of Frank Gay Services. If their technician is any kind of example that this company has representing them .......I would be most proud ! Noah came to my home late on a Friday to fix my Water meter pipe that had a leak . Of course it was raining and the area was so muddy but he dug it all out. Being my pipe was old , Noah called around to several warehouses to find this part . Nothing. Could order it but would take maybe 3-4 days . Not without water , couldnt happen . He said he was going to go back to the office and find one somewhere , somehow !! He would be back Saturday am..great . He went back and his associate said you are in luck, we ordered 12 for another client that only needed 8 . He hunted down that tech who had the pipes and that tech turned around on his way to Kissimmee and brought one to Noah , for me !!! Whoever you are , I thank you for that as well !!! I see Noah in my front yard at about 5pm..........back digging in the rain !! I said what are you doing here? He told me the story and said it was his job . His job ? Mr. Gay , you best hold on tight to this gentleman, he is a rare employee. But I did not tell you the extra reason I wrote this . Noah was leaving for vacation that next day , Saturday and still promised to be at my house to fix my pipe. He said no worries , check in is not until 3 anyway !!
Noah , you are a tremendous asset to your trade and to your company but going that extra with the clients ............priceless
Many thanks
Catherine E.
f. g. prices are insane.

Frank Gay claims to be reasonable on price and price fast service. I was told an a tech was on his way and would be here in 15-20 minutes and he showed up 2 hours later unannounced.
Tech was here maybe 2 minutes and said we need to snake your tub drain it'll be $551.00.
RIDICULOUS. I would've told them to leave but I have family coming in town in two days and I didn't want to risk not getting an appointment in time.
Dont use these people. Their prices are 4-5 time more than what an honest plumber would charge.

6 April I called Frank Gay services to have them come out to my house for a water leak I had a hole in the wall and I could see the leak under my master bathroom foundation so a plumber by the name of Billy came to my house I showed him the hole in the wall I showed him the master bathroom he told me it be $750 just to bring Out his equipment to verify the leak I asked him should I turn the water on so you could see it he said no I'll go to the truck and get you some estimates. He came back option one repipe house drywall patching permit and two new faucets in the bathroom with new water heater $7900 option number two leak detection break slab repair pipe only 3 inches patch concrete no warranty $3482 option number three was repipe house no permit no drywall $6241 and option number four was re-pipe permit drywallFamily plan $6806. I talk to another person and two days ago they came out and use a scare tactic on her said they couldn't do the concrete slab she had to re-pipe her house and it was a lady so I took advantage of her. Be Careful of the plumbing company I found another company that came out and replace my pipe and did the slab for $200
I just want to say no one from Customer service ever called me to rectify the issues from my review of the Family Plan. I posted a review 3 days ago they replied they would have someone from Customer service call me they never did. Be Warned!!!
I had an issue with my AC on a hot Sunday. I called several companies that couldn't get someone here until Monday or Tuesday. Frank Gay gave me a a window of 4 hours and the tech called and said he would be there in 45 minutes. He came and fixed my problem. Eddie was masked and made sure to explain what was the issue.
100% scam they sign you up for a plan, quote one price, then find out then add non refundable 50 plus dollar processing fees and other add on. Techs was clueless as something as simple as adding refrigerant to a/c . Avoid this company
I try to hire local companies and thought that was what I would get with Frank Gay. That is certainly not the case. I started to install a sink and had some problems so called them out. The tech came out and said he felt bad charging me the full price when it was mostly done. I told him to replace a cartridge in our shower that was not working. He said no problem and went to his van to write up the prices. I was shocked at the price when he came back. All of the parts were in and still charged over $300 for less then one hour of labor. He then charged another over $300 for the cartridge. All together he spent less than an hour doing both repairs. Parts for the shower is around $5. Their prices are ridicoulously high.
The next day we were still having a whistle in the shower. I called back and was told that we would have an 8 - 9 service visit. The person shared on the phone that we would be charged the service fee again if it was anything additional. I don't think that is right since if the tech found an issue during the first visit I would not have been charged for that fee again. After 9 and no phone call I had to call back. That was when I realized they are owned by a conglomerate company that runs multiple plumbing companies. It ended up being after 4PM that the service tech made it out to us. It was the same one as the first day and he was great. If I was rating the tech I would have given him 5 stars. Sadly the review is for the company which price gouges for their services and tries to upsell everything.
Based on the good Google reviews I arranged an appointment for an estimate to replace 2 outdoor Ring Spotlight cams. Mind you this is a replacement not an installation, a 1 hour job max. I could have done it myself (done it before) in that time but my wife did not want me up on a ladder. So they told me it would be $40 service charge if their price was not agreed. That seems the norm now days. The electrician assessed the job, had a good understanding of what was need and called the office. They told him to charge me $760 plus tax. Outrageous! I refused. Big mistake, later I learned Frank Gay sold this company and the new owner(s) apparently want to cash in on the good will he had earned over the years. I guess they were hoping I was desperate or ignorant and would agree to such price gouging. Not a good business model in my opinion and word of mouth is spreading.
We had Frank Gay come out to fix a blockage on our pipe on 07/14 and our pipes are backed up again. We called and they said they cannot guarantee a blockage work. The plumber went as far as to say that we are probably throwing tampons down the toilet. They want to give us a discount - instead of the $400 paid it will be $300 plus. Help me understand this; you have a work done and one week after it breaks again but they won't guarantee it?! It doesn't make sense to me; therefore, we are still backed up and looking for a reasonable plumber who won't rip me off. Don't use Frank Gay. When I told him I would post this he said that people who use social media are not intelligent and don't know anything anyways. Let's show them the power of social media. #frankgayplumbing #orlando #plumbers #backedup #toiletproblems #upset
I called to get a quote/estimate to run a new sewer line. The person had to put me on hold to verify if they even did that type of work. Then I was told there would be a $79 charge as diagnostic fee. I then asked what was there to diagnose? The line is brand new. I repeated I'm in need of a quote/estimate to run a new sewer line. their reply was they still need to diagnose the system. I started LMAO an to told them there's no system to diagnose. Moral of the story $79 for a free quote/estimate. Needless to say I took my business elsewhere.

Perhaps after 40 years they should just go out of business. Scheduled to come to home and took day off to meet them. They called to cancel late in the day. When I insisted they had committed to coming a person who didn't seem to care showed up, didn't want to stay to do the work and said we would have to pay overtime if he did. Pathetic!
A supervisor called me while I was sleep and let me know I did not have to pay for $806 installation fee, but now they keep sending emails requesting terribly amount money since they are a business and need money ..... THEY NEED TO FIT IT FIRST PRIOR TO PAYMENT (IAW Orange County Fraud Department) We already paid them probably around $10K overprice A/C with probably thousands dollar of repairs so far since it's been in stalled.
And it's still under Warranty!!! They try very hard to take advantage of the handicap and charge for parts that are perfectly running fine for hundreds of dollars. Yesterday he request $1,200 just to fun a temporary line that was replaced be another company a few weeks ago. My a/c manufacture agreed to replace my unit since Frank Gay Services has been taking months to try to fix this unit. We had to wait for a part for 5 weeks which was NOT the problem. They wanted over $800 just for the labor, they said the fan would cost $1,600. So the really elevate their prices. Our home as extreme mold in portions of our home which is really affecting my health since I have OCPD from being around military personnel smoking and injury to my lungs. The person who use to own the company 100%, Frank Gay himself cared. Now they it's owned by a bunch of persons really just care about money with no regards to the customer that needs the a/c every day this time of year when it's in the 90's. I asked them if they would like to go with a/c for a few months during the summer! I can not believe they would not even let my a/c manufacture replace my unit due to my health.
My a/c company offered to replace the unit for free if Frank Gay says it can not be fixed. After several visits over 12 months, they have no idea what's wrong. They keep coming out and requesting over thousand dollars to run a line. This company requested $1,200 just to run a wire yesterday. It's like living in a nightmare. It's even affecting my service dog. They are costing me more then my prescription drugs. I need help!!!
They broke our thermostat, and is unwilling to repair it.
DO NOT even think to call them!!!

if I didn't have to pick a star I wouldn't this is ridiculous the service is terrible they came and installed a doorbell after already had a doorbell ring that I needed to be installed they took the ring with them and now I can't get my money back because no one in management can contact me back they keep saying all they emailed him and this and he he's just not reachable which is ridiculous I have never had a company that's not reachable when they provided a service that they charged me for before the service was even done I am so mad right now

Last Friday morning I had a back up and when I flushed the toilet it would come up in the shower. It also caused water to leak onto my bathroom floors and my garage floor. Not knowing what was the cause I called frank gay services. I was told initially that the it would cost $79 and some change for them to come out and tell me what was going on. If I decided to have the work completed by them the $79 would be waived. Being this was the first time I had ever experienced this issue I asked the rep if the tech could come out the same day. She told me she would find out and contact me back. She calls me back and says that it sounds like I need a leak detection which will be $349 (very close but I can't remember the exact numbers) just for him to come out but he would be able to come out same day. I insisted it was not a leak and had to do with a back up she states I will need to speak to the tech. The tech calls and we explain the situation. The tech routes us back to the office and they put us in touch with another tech who states he will be over shortly. The tech comes over and pours draino down the showers and insists the problem is resolved. The bill was $220! Right as we are about to pay the tech my mom stops by the house because I had called her in the morning stressed out over the situation. My mom goes and flushes the toilets and again it backs up into the showers! The tech said we need to give it some time but again the issue continues. He says he needs to run a snake from the outside of the house because clearly the draino is not working. He runs a snake and pulls out what looks like toilet paper or paper towel. Issue was resolved in 45 minutes. The final bill because he had to run the snake to unclog the pipe was $499!!!!! He stated he would call us the next day to see if the issue had resolved. We never got a follow up call. We definitely learned our lesson. We are new home buyers and didn't know what to expect. $499 for 45 minutes of work, complete robbery. I will never use frank gay services again.
The response from the company regarding further bill adjustment was I was charged correctly. Given my dissatisfaction I requested to cancel the family plan I signed up for and was told that I must sign a customer satisfaction agreement that promises I retract this review and only a partial refund would be provided . The agreement asked I waive some significant rights . So I chose not to sign this agreement for a partial refund. The customer response was they have 2 priorities : to protect the company and meet customer requests. Sadly they have lost a customer . I hope others don't get treated this way . This is not good business.

They spend thousands of dollars to advertise they are different from other companies, trustworthy, dependable and eager to please. They want to charge $40-$99 just to come out to see you. They want $119 an hour to perform work. I didn't get an estimate, no pictures taken, no inspection and the office canceled the visit without me even having a visit. But, they still wanted to charge me and I didn't even see anyone from the company! I really don't know but, I would call that false advertising, wouldn't you?
I am a commercial property manager and my tenant is in need for professional plumbing and electrical work. I specified on two chat sessions on the website (and by phone) the work desired and our business hours. The tech shows up an hour and eight minutes early and never returns.
I was denied service without even getting ANY service whatsoever. Is this is the best that Frank Gay has to offer? BTW: Invoice me for $99 - What kind of a joke is this, for no work, not even a smile and a handshake?

I do not have enough words of praise for the fantastic team Frank Gay services sent us. Our entire home's air conditioning went out in the middle of the summer. We called their number at 11pm and they had someone out to look at it 9am the next morning. Our unit was very old and needed to be replaced, which they scheduled to do the very next morning and at a cost lower than everyone else we contacted. Their team spent 8 hours at our house replacing the inside and outside unit, rebuilt the interior unit platform (and painted it - thanks Robert!) and could not have been more courteous. We are beyond satisfied with their service and quality of work. As new homeowners it's refreshing to find a company that is so on top of their customer service and employs quality individuals. Definitely recommend!

This company is trash! I've had them working on my air conditioner for two weeks, the technicians show up, seem to work on an issue then miraculously something else breaks. Its been two weeks and my ac is still not fixed, don't bother calling the office or the supervisor/dispatch they will just ignore your calls, messages and emails. Oh, they will destroy your property as well, and good luck getting someone to come fix it. DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE DANGEROUSLY INADEQUET.
AC tech came out on Saturday night. Tech said it was my fan motor and the one he has installed was $260. But come to fund out that was not the correct one. Had to wait until Monday go get the correct part. Now the correct motor installed is $800!!!! Plus the $130 Trip charge. $930 for a fan motor. That is after I ask for a better price. Over $900 was the quote plus $130.
I have used in the past and thought it was a fair price and good service. NOW I will be going elsewhere for HVAC service. Sounds like bait and switch. I understand mistakes happen but triple orginal quote!!!

I would never recommend Frank Gay. They claim to be a 24 hour service but when we called at 8pm, paid the $129 service call for a 8pm-12am timeframe , they never showed. At 12:30am when nobody showed or called, we called back and left 2 messages, it's now 8am the next day and still nothing. I'm stopping payment and would NEVER use a service that leaves s family of 5 ( with an alzheimer's patient) without water and toilet after taking their money! DO NOT USE this company!!!
Frank Gay Plumbing is an unethical company. It's owner sued me because I wouldn't pay a two bills for work that was done but didn't fix the problem. I called another company and they were successful. When I tried to explain to Frank Gay why I didn't feel I had to pay to pay the bill he wouldn't listen. Do to the fact I live out side the area and I didn't want to travel to Orlando. I offered to pay half the bill but he refused. He told me he never gets complaints. I guess he doesn't read Yelp. He apparently removes all negative comments from his web site so that people don't see how bad he is.
Prepare to pay Frank Gay to assess your job for a $39.00 fee. Sized up our disposal R&R with a cheap unit and handed the spouse an estimate / bill for + -$650.00 ! I get the call and promptly send him on his way. You got to be kidding!!!
$118 later with a Lowes unit, I get under the sink and complete the job in less than 40 mins.
I get home to review the bill left for us to approve and I see they added a maintenance plan for $200 + a $40 membership fee. WTF are they thinking?? Unsolicited add-perk, and not explained / disclosed.
I call Sarah (since she has been responding to their Yelp reviews.) and explaine why they didn't get $650 for their estimate. Both the tech and Sarah said he was a new employee and that was most of the problem.
Sarah refunded their trip charge for the estimate.
THANK YOU SARAH
The fact Sarah responds to their reviews and refunded the trip charge got them a 4 stars. I believe they will work with me so both sides are happy if hired in the future and hit a rough spot.

Price was $300! UPDATE: Customer services reached out to me and asked about my experience. They then told me their employees are REQUIRED to tell you the price before doing any work. Because of this they gave me a refund and I only paid for the initial inspection. Make sure you are told the initial price before any work is done. it was very nice and professional of them to fix this problem so I'm adding 2 stars to my review and I might be using their service again later on to instal a bathroom ceiling vent, however it is unlikely.
PRICE WAS OVER $300!
Called Frank Gay because I had a light switch that was not working. Was told they will charge $39 to look at the problem then tell you how much the service will cost and if you accept then they will fix the problem. The guy was very nice and was checking the wires and installed the switch then proceeded to tell me he needs to check the breaker box. After this he told me the price is over $300!!!! This is ridiculous, if he had told me the price before doing anything else I would have instantly said no to the services. Look elsewhere for a handyman.

Customer service lacks. We waited 1 month for them to come but unfortunately it rained. As a result, the electrical area of the AC outdoor unit was not inspected. The tech told me to call customer service to reschedule and I did. To our dismay, the next available date is in 2 months in October! I told them, this is not a call for new service but a call to complete an unfinished job. How in the world they treat us with such disregard?!! And what's worse, we are signed up with them. We will be canceling business! Ridiculous
UPDATE ZERO Stars
Plumber came in today August, 2023
He came to make a basic inspection for toilets, water heater, etc. Last thing I know he had broken the shower knob when he pulled & turned it. When I asked him if he can fix it back, he said he didn't do it and that it was like that already. I've lived in my house 3 years and have never had a problem with the knob. He broke it to the extend he couldn't put it back in at all.
What's worse, instead of him apologizing for his accident and offer a way to repair it. He unprofessionally said he'll be glad to give us a Quote for the repair... say what?!! Needless to say, we asked him to leave the premises and escorted him out.
Immediately, we proceeded to contact the office but they said couldn't credit our money for the service and to call back tomorrow bc the office was closing soon... AGAIN, say what?!!
They are a RIP OFF!!! They break your stuff, come in your house with the sole objective to charge you extra and they don't care to make things right for you.
How in the world are they still in business. But I'll tell you what, if they're standing is with only ONE LEG.
THE WORST SERVICE

We had a fill valve on our toilet that squeaks and randomly goes on, so maybe the flush valve or gasket needs to replaced too. Technician spent no more then 5 minutes looking at it and tells me to buy a whole new toilet and they will install it for $300. Charged $40 for them to tell me they can't fix it. We had also signed up with them for maintenance on our AC units. The guy tells us there has to be a leak because both units only have about 1/2 the Freon they should have. He then tells us that they are no good even though they are only five years old and that it's $18,000 for them to replace them with new ones. I guess this company can't fix anything and they just want you to replace everything because they don't know how to fix it.
Awful customer service! I've had to call them five times to find out when a plumber could be to my house with no clear answer. I was first told they would call me in the morning to schedule a technician. No one called. So I called them. They said a plumber would be here between 1-5pm. But the plumber called me at 11am saying he was on his way. I couldn't make that happen since I planned on being home from 1-5pm. So they canceled my appointment. I call again and am told a tech would come between 1-5pm. At 3pm I call to ask when I might expect a plumber. They say that I canceled the plumber and he was no longer in the area. So now they say someone can be to my home by 9pm! I say that's too late. They say they are a 24-hour service. But that doesn't mean I am! I have to get up at 1am to go to work! Something the ladies on the phone don't seem to care about, nor do they care that I have had no running water at my home for 21 hours now. No sense of urgency or empathy. I would not call or recommend this company.

Anyone else would get the job done faster than these people. Dragging their feet, taking their sweet time. Calling them is a waste of time because they will only tell you that they'll call you back and they never do. Just overall very unprofessional. We are almost a week without power because they're so unorganized and unreliable and have TERRIBLE communication. Such a regret hiring this company.
Always do right, this will gratify some people and astonish the rest. This is what the manager states above about the business - he's right, we were astonished.
We had a plumbing drain that was blocked, causing chugging
noises in the pipes within the walls. The office told us each visit is a $39.99 charge, applicable to the repair cost - so we moved forward.
The technician inspected the property, and told me running a snake to unclog the drain would have to be performed from the roof pipe, and is much more expensive than running it through a clean out drain on the ground because he has to get on the roof and it's raining.
He then presents a quote over $800 for this rather common task which should run around several hundred dollars.
We asked why this was so expensive, and were told that taking the equipment on the roof is a greater liability. We then asked if the price would change if he didn't have to go on the roof - no, it wouldn't. Operating the equipment is even dangerous on the ground. What?
Realizing we weren't going to go forward, we asked to just pay the $39.99. The technician was trying to charge us $49.99 - which we challenged based on the Office's original statement. His explanation for the change - as soon as I step inside the house, the fee goes up. How are are you supposed to diagnose the problem without coming in the house? He then proceeded to justify the fee increase because there was a difference between assessing and diagnosing. Now they're nickel and diming using semantics.
Seems like a run of the mill, deceitful company upcharging laypeople. Stay away and go with someone who runs an honest business.
its clear there have been some issues since the last good review in 2013 and the owner better take note and get some good office people working there again.
My experience with both John and Kevin the electricians who worked on my breaker box was great - they were super helpful and incredibly nice!
Because John didn't have my breaker as a stocked part that night - for which i knew i was already paying double time for - he did do a temporary fix - super helpful so we didn't freeze since it was cold and the heater wasn't working.
Someone else (Kevin) had to be sent the next day with the correct breaker (and i was informed i would be charged for that additional hourly labor).
Why should i be charged twice because they don't have my part on the truck?
I tried to speak to someone in billing but he was not helpful and said that is the way it is. However when I called back a different person in billing said the other person is no longer there and he would call me back with an update.
Hope things get straightened out soon and will update my rating accordingly.
Negative stars! Such a very dishonest company, they more than tripled the price of all materials they brought at home depot! I actually saw the receipt the plumber accidentally left laying on my counter top. Then I went to Frank gay's office to dispute my invoice and witnessed frank gay, the owner speaking very horribly to what I assume is his receptionist at front desk and then cursing at a man cleaning the atrium, if you could call it that, was in horrendous condition. The President Frank gay is is not a nice man and definitely does not respect his employees. I'll NEVER recommend or use his company again
They came and they left ... nothing got done with my water heater .... This is their 3rd attempt

I bought their maintenance service package and when they came out to check it they did not find the freon Lee causing the problem and try to tell me the problem was the ductwork and we're willing to replace it for only $15,000 ! I found a better service they found the freon leak and indicated that ductwork replacement was not necessary at this time . They keep calling me to set up a maintenance appointment and I don't want to have anything to do with them ! They can keep their maintenance service package
I spent $2400+ on a new hot water heat in December of 2022. As of writing this review, the water heater only provides 10 minutes of hot water in the shower when no other appliances have been running for hours. They have sent technicians out 6 times and the issue is still unresolved. I finally hired an electrician, since Frank Gay said that the problem was with my circuit breaker. My electrician tested the voltage on everything and says it is working fine. This was also confirmed later by Frank Gay's electric technician.
My electrician did find where Frank Gay had installed a wire nut over two copper wires connecting and the wire nut had burned through (see photos). I have tried to call management but they refuse to call me back. Instead, they just keep sending technicians out who cannot solve the problem.
All in all, I still only have 10 minutes of hot water and I Frank Gay refuses to offer me a refund. PROBLEM UNRESOLVED. DO NOT USE FRANK GAY.

Called on a Saturday as air handler was short cycling. Replaced a part and cleaned lines and charged 491. Week later unit is doing the same thing. They come out again and tell me the unit is too big for the house and I need a new ac for 12k. Told the tech he was high and to have a nice day. Had my regular ac tech come out and told me thermostat was bad and blower motor was shot. Frank Gay tech never tested volts on thermostat or looked at the blower motor. Blower motor and all parts were still under warranty and cost me 500 dollars to fix. These guys are a rip off and would only call them if you are in dire straits.
Noah is excellent. I can't say enough about him. I've used him several times: hot water heater, stopped up sink, and shower that wouldn't turn off. Each time he's courteous and professional. He gets the job done quickly - and right, and at a fair price. I always request him when calling Frank Gay. I've had a number of other great plumbers from Frank Gay, though to be fair, I also had one negative and frustrating experience, too (hence only 4 stars).

Scammers! I had to speak with their manager who came out to talk to me and was EXTREMELY rude and did not care. Revolting behavior and manners. Shocked someone like this could even be hired. Disgusting!!!!!
I will never use this service again. Over charged, work not completed as explained....charged the same for something I didn't need. Called for service and the experience got worse. Try to avoid at all costs.....
My issue was resolved by Frank Gay Services. I did receive a quick response to my complaint. Though their prices are extremely high, they did fix the problem.
I was pleased with the results, but not the cost. There was a leaking pipe in the wall of the garage which needed a hole opened for access to the pipe. After the repairman left, I researched the average cost of the work he did (less than 1 hour of work) and these are the results:
Leaking and burst pipe repair costs:
National average cost $150
Low-end cost range $49-$125
High-end cost range $175-$375
We were charged over $1300 for what appeared to be a simple repair. I do believe I was way overcharged. The guy was pleasant enough, but he tapped his iPad a few times and told us the price and said that he doesn't set the prices. I feel like I was taken....I even signed up for their annual family plan, but after reading up on what it consists of, I discovered that it only covers two visits for a air conditioning service/inspection, NOT what the repairman said it would be. I do plan to cancel that ASAP.
I'd like to add that I informed the tech that I wanted to shop around and get other estimates, but he convinced us to get it done right away for the leak could be a bigger problem if we waited. There was no water damage. I highly recommend that you get estimates from several qualified plumbers before committing to one. Lessoned learned.
29 May 2022 - NOTE: I tried to contact the company as requested, but the person I was to talk to had gone home. Was told that I would receive a call back from them (Jackie) the next day at noon. Never happened. I like when I can contact the people I do business with. When there is no way to email them, then IMO They are trying to avoid you. Still, my advice, avoid Frank Gay.

I strongly advise you not to use frank gay. We purchased an A/C unit and installation and it was Extremely over priced. Then we called for a drainage problem and what do you know also over priced but we needed it so we payed it. We then failed our A/C inspection because of a fuse. We called and called and called, frank gay gave us the run around. after calling and harassing them to fix the problem for months they finally sent someone to fix the issue... we failed the inspection again so we started the whole process again of trying to get ahold of someone at frank gay to help and here we are 4 months later and no one has fixed the problem. After ghosting us for a few weeks they had the nerve to call us and try to sell us an unneeded service. When we told the guy what we were going through he said he would look into it and surprise surprise no call back. Literally go anywhere else but frank gay.
Casey rhom came out on Christmas Eve to fix the kids clogged toilet which I could not fix this go round. Quick and easy, great attitude. Nothing more to say.
Prompt service within 20 minutes of calling. Ron was pleasant & professional. Definitely recommend
such a horrible company. terrible service, terrible products, terrible customer service. i have never ever ever ever dealt with a less professional company. i looked up employee reviews as well and there were many many comments saying how deceitful frank gay was .
Mr. Walter from Frank Gay promptly showed up when we needed an emergency electrician tech. after a lightning strike to fix a couple outlets. Another random technician also showed up from another company late after he had started working, which was a miscommunication; however, Walter looked out for my Grandmother when the other guy got his feathers ruffled and set him packing. Not only did he get the job done quickly, his demeanor and professionalism was most appreciated and welcome in our dire time of need of service. Thank You Frank Gay Services!
We wanted a free estimate for a rental property where the tenants were having sewage back-up problems in the master bedroom. However, they wouldn't do the free estimate without having a credit care on file. We ended up having them pump the septic tank but then they wanted to do some other expensive work and my Mom said no to them as I was out of town. They ended up leaving without even closing up the connection to the septic tank. And, we didn't even have to have the other work done that they said had to be done right away. I would never go back to them when there are so many other different companies to choose from. They were rude to my Mom and to the tenants.
Run away from this company and run fast. The employees are trained to up sell on everything and work slowly in order to Bill for more hours. I got a second opinion after they had finished the job from another company and they could only shake their heads in disbelief.

Terrible I worked here a week rode around with a senior tech during this time did not handle a tool or make any issues was early and had to wait on tech to get there was not interested in the 100% commission that's probably why everything cost so much was told I'd be paid 100 dollars a day during the training with working 7 am - 5 pm most days after training was told I didn't perform well and wouldn't be needed without being paid for the time worked then couldn't get in touch with the managers or HR wouldn't call me back I'm opening my own business fair and I'm paying techs 25 an hour so customers would be over charged if u say you seen this review I'll do your work free Jaran Rozier I have been plumbing 10 years work well with pvc copper pipe
Don't waste any time calling this company. They don't respond in a prompt fashion. They won't put anyone with knowledge or authority on the phone. They will attempt to charge you a service call fee, even if they never set foot inside. I would even pay a higher fee than attempt to use them again. Literally - Call any other company.

Person who picks the call in middle of the night like Matt- quick to observe, understand in one, next day morning forgot her ,Service manager Stephanie was kind enough to call at 08:30 AM Eastern not at the last minute -very professional, put mask, put the like a temple maintained her and do the work - very reasonable Frank H - Frank Hegger or so - his name did not pop up in the List of values of Plumbers so i could not select i have to chose forgot even though i know his name- other person is Ms. McKenzie- hopefully her name is spelt correct-as you know i speak my min, direct, honest, ethical and integrity i believe in law of Karma
McKenzie also i had called them way back in the year 1999 or 2000 or before 2004 while i was here- she is a quick and tells long time customer-sharp.Whereas i did not do for
@Sprint who were not doing good service
nor for
@GoDaddy who are still gives reasons or tells or plays around nowadays
nor for
@CitiBank Diamond Preferred card- i would not leave anything good for the above
as i believe more in honest, being truthful, fact oriented, justice, to Son of God of or Lord Jesus Christ
Ok we had a few problems but management was responsive and cleared up the issues. Which is odd nowadays.

Buyers beware of this vendor and incident that still remains unresolved since May. I am referred to a Patricia Duarte and she has Not been responsive to my numerous attempts to reach someone. Posting my latest message in hopes that I can get help:Services included in the service plan was never rendered and I contacted Frank Gay to notify them of the incident immediately In May. Technician was not qualified, provided false diagnosis and failed to perform services included. Frank Gay is unable to furnish any evidence proving that any services were provided by the technician assigned. The person walked around my property for a short period and insisted he was not required to service filters and other items. Please return full amount of 149.00 as no service was rendered. We were then promised that someone else would perform maintenance and that was a no show. We hired another vendor since Frank Gay is unreliable. Other vendor confirmed drain lines were not maintained. Frank Gay are in breach of the contract terms. Please terminate and issue refund check for the full amount.

Great job. Responsive and on time and did an excellent job at a reasonable price. I was really happy to get them to come at such short notice especially after the hurricane. Blaine replaced a leaking hose bibb and did a neat and professional job.
In many years of investing in real estate and flipping houses that was by far the worst experience ever!! They are only in for the money. Not only did they not solve the initial issue with our A/C, but they completely damaged it to the point of having to get a new one. The new company we hired confirmed that what they did damaged the unit. When called out on their incompetence and negligence for damaging our only one year old A/C they hung up on us, stopped responding and blocked our calls. We have proof of everything; text messages, pictures and reports:
- Called Frank Gay
- Found a broken board
- Put in an electrical bypass that should only be kept for a few days
- After 6 weeks a wrong board was delivered - not because of supply issues but because of lack of communication within the company; called in to check on that multiple times
- A/C then overheated because of the bypass and started leaking water and oil; damage to kitchen ceiling and cabinets
- Several parts burned
- Called Frank Gay for assistance; uselessly changed and invoiced parts as A/C stopped working completely, lied in report that A/C was working when they left - it wasn't
- Field service manager useless throughout the entire 6 weeks, very rude and had the company block my calls
- Had to replace entire A/C unit by a different company
At the end they left us with a completely broken A/C, damaged kitchen, charges for parts that they had damaged and loss of income. This totals damages of $10,000.00
No response or explanation on any of that so we are now getting legal advice.

Additional details to my original review after I was contacted by a service representative to buy my silence : After seeing our water bill double, we called out Frank Gay plumbing to determine if we had a water leak. We were charged $129 for them to come out on a Sunday. After digging two 12 deep holes, the technician determined that there was leak in the main water service and the leak was under the public side walk. He said it would be a major job to repair and they would have to send a crew and equipment out on Monday to take care of it. His estimate to replace the main water line from the meter to the house was $4,179 and they would guarantee the work for 1 year. In addition, they would discount the cost 10% if we signed up for a one year service plan. Since we didn't need the entire water line replaced, we asked for the cost to just fix the leak under the sidewalk, he quoted us $2,223 for a Level 5 Re-pipe and repair-including plumbing services (that sounds major) but that work would not be guaranteed and again they would give us a !0% discount if we signed up for their HVAC/Plumbing Service contract. The charge to dig the two holes and find the leak on Sunday was $250. We accepted the cost estimate for the repair, assuming there would be a major Level 5 re-pipe and repair. The same technician returned on Monday and was able to Jet under the sidewalk in order to install a new 6 to 8 foot section of 1/2 PVC pipe about 12-18 deep. Service took under two hours. Having been involved in estimating plumbing cost for 35 years, I can say I never felt as ripped off as I feel now. Over $1,000 per hour for a fairly simple repair.
In addition, I'm shocked by what seems to be very deceptive business practices by such a large organization.
#1- No guarantee unless we have the entire water line replaced.
#2- Discount only if you sign up for a 1 year Service Agreement
#3 - Poorly described and exaggerated scope of work on the cost estimate (Level 5- re-pipe and repair ?)
#4 - The customer representative reached out to me regarding my previous review. As I understood her, she offered me a $223 refund if I would sign a satisfied customer service document and if I remove my review comments
You can't buy my silence for $223.
I hope others take my advice and avoid this company like the plague.
Used this company 2x, Should've learned from the first time. Had an issue with my Water heater. Unit was installed 2018, I was told by the tech thay they couldn't do maintenance on the unit and it will have to be replaced. Anything over 4 years, they won't do an maintenance. So I was given 2 quotes. Both very expensive. For me to buy unit and they replace and do work and other for them to bring their own and install. I decided to call another company. Issue was a faulty wire going into unit. This is why a small maintenance check won't hurt... sorry but definitely saved a little less then $2k.
Never again...
My 26-year old A/C Unit finally bit the dust. I had called the company that had installed & maintained my unit, as well as another company, both of which indicated it would be a couple of days before they could inspect and provide a quote, and then several days after that to install. Meanwhile, temperatures were hitting over 90 degrees. I then called Frank Gay Services and their tech was at my house that day. He provided an acceptable quote and said the installers could begin work the next morning. The two installers, Dale and Anthony, called me on the way to my house in the morning and were knowledgeable, courteous and clean. Although I expected the job to take all day, it only took about 4-5 hours. They cleaned and swept up all debris and removed the old unit. I'm very pleased and plan on using Frank Gay Services for my A/C maintenance and other repairs or services that they provide. I'm a native Orlandoan and I have seen their vans around town for decades and I'm glad I called them. Thank you. Terry.
I usually dont give reviews but this was horrible. Had a main pipe in yard with a small leak. Technician came out gave me two options. First option 2627 dollars to run a new pipe from main valve to house. Second option fix old PC pipe and valve 1814 dollars what a RIP off company. Then stated he spoke with manager and said 898 would work. What???? Finally ask me what I wanted to pay? I said 19 dollar service fee. Had it done the next day for 150 dollars. What a racket!!!!!
This company has installed a new a/c unit at my mothers house. First the installers installed the unit wrong, had to wait 3 days to get someone else to fix their mistake. Since they fixed the unit, she has had to call them 2 times to send a technician out. They are now telling her she needs duct work. That was never mentioned before today.
My mom is 90+ years old with a pacemaker. I hope they would not treat their moms in this manner
BEWARE....while their work is good, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. We were quoted 99 per hr plus a 30 trip charge. However we were invoiced for more and called to question this since the invoice was not itemized. The plumber spent a total of one hour at my home 15 min of that writing an invoice but charged for an hour and a half. After several weeks of calling and been promised a call back we finally got a hold of the manager. He was going to review and call back, which he never did. Reached out again and was told that they were at my house long enough to justify the charge and that they would not be willing to reduce the fee. Keep the $50 as we will no longer use your services again. If you use them make sure you got the stopwatch going so they dont over charge you.
One star only because zero or negative stars aren't an option! Several months ago, I had one of Frank Gay Services plumbers come to my condo to fix a leak in my guest room shower. He insisted that the only way to access the pipes was to cut out a large square of tile in the shower, which is what he did. I was now responsible for fixing the damage. Problem is, he could have easily accessed the pipes from my bathroom and merely had to cut through the dry wall..a much easier thing to repair. Any skilled plumber would have recognized this. On top of this, his repair work was poor, to say the least! What an embarrassment! The Frank Gay name has been known to this area for many years and, I mistakenly thought, was associated with quality work and expertise! WRONG! I will NEVER, EVER use them again and I strongly suggest you consider other options before calling them!

Update- 6:50pm day after AC stopped working- I edited my post for three reasons.
1. Jonathan is exceptional! He did an amazing job going above and beyond to get everything working again! He explained everything perfectly, providing options and recommendations. He is an All-Star
2. Mike, who came last night tried very hard to help but was unable to. He was courteous and did the best he could.
3. When we were displeased, this company reached out to try to correct the mistakes made.
For these three reasons, we will continue to use Frank Gay and I encourage others to as well!!
1st post:
Our AC stopped working last night. We called your company around 8pm and a window was given of 10-2 for the technician to come out. When the tech came out around 12:30 he said he couldn't fix it and they would have someone come out first thing in the morning. Great to that point! I disappointing that it was so hot but it would be fixed first thing! We could handle a few more hours.
This morning...We called to main number to see what time someone would come out and low and behold the dispatcher says that techs can't schedule service. She shared he didn't collect anything last night (makes sense since he didn't fix anything).... and said their first available appointment was from 2-6. We shared what the tech told us last night and she said... well techs can't schedule service...How disappointing... we are in a hot house, with animals and have to go to work!
We are calling another company now because having a company who can keep their word and help you when you need it is of utmost importance.
Recommendation to Frank Gay. When you have a middle of the night call and you can't fix it. Please understand that family has already suffered and now hasn't slept... delaying the fix is exhausting for all. Think about your customers when you build your processes and you should never throw each other under the bus. Your tech was extremely nice and professional. It's obvious the call center and techs aren't communicating though which only impacts your customers.
If you want undependable, frustrating service... use Frank Gay.
Can't say enough about their more than prompt response late on a Friday afternoon. We were put in touch with a plumber immediately and then a plumber came out within a half hour! Our tankless hot water heater was put back in working order in short time. Apparently there is a minimum of 1 hour labor, though. It's okay- they responded quickly, fixed it and said if we have more problems they will give us the 1st hour of labor free. Can't ask for anything more! Try them for plumbing, heating and air conditioning services. You won't be sorry!

Kevin B. Came by to assess our situation.
He helped us solve our problem and assured us that he is doing everything to make our plumbing situation perfect. While they were in our home, they were extremely polite and quick to get on the job! I'm looking forward to see all the great work they do for us. Mask and shoe coverings were worn to make us feel safe. Kevin was extremely knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions. With guys like Kevin on the job you are in good hands.
Thank you Kevin

UFB!! Frank Gay (Formerly Kiley & sons) wanted over $500 to install a replacement water filter that had easy access and simple installation. Did it myself for under $20 in parts from Lowes. RUN RUN RUN!!! from these guys!
Update: Took me 1/2 hour to complete this project. Allowing an hour for the 'professional' to do the job, that would be $480 per hour. I'm sure that there are plumbers in the Villages that will work for considerably less per hour and back up their work as well.
A note to Sara C at Frank Gay - I did speak with one of your reps at the company and was told that's how they price. Well, unless you don't care about spending almost $500 an hour for a plumber, avoid these crooks!
STAY AWAY from this company. I wanted a generator plug and lockout on main breaker box about $700. By the time he was done writing his estimate for the job he wanted to do it was around $10,000.
They did not provide a quote up front then OVERCHARGED and never returned my calls. I had to call 4 times and the manager never bothered to return my call. Worst company that I have ever dealt with.
I made an appointment to check a leak in my house. They confirmed for Saturday, send me an email remaining about the appointment. They told me to be at home between 2 to 6 pm I ask for the afternoon off in my job, being here waiting all afternoon, I called an I ask for and ETA and they said the person is finishing a job and is gonna be later than 6 then a guy called me and said they just called him for the services and is gonna be in my house before 7 PM ??? What a joke and unprofessional company if you can avoid this company please do. No respect for people time or any consideration.

I came home and noticed that my AC was not working well. The dispatcher was polite and kind and promised Jason at 2-4PM. Jason was fantastic. Through, sincere and efficient. He called at 1:30 and informed that he would arrive at 2:04PM and he was on time. he diagnosed the problem and rectified it in a timely fashion. He is also a very engaging and polite human being.
They are horrible. I bought a brand new AC unit from them (inside and out) less than 3 years ago. I have had to call them to have them come a replace parts on it 8 times!!! And every time it's close to $500 bill. This company sucks.
This company is a RIP-OFF! Quoted $900 to extend (not a new circuit) a 240v/50A circuit 20 feet from an existing J-Box and terminate into an 14-50 plug. Wanted to charge $253 for a 14-50 plug that is $20 at Lowes. All in parts were no more than $125 and no more than 2 hours of labor...$900. That's almost $400/hr labor.
I paid the $19 and couldn't wait for the technician to get the heck out of my house. I do not leave Yelp reviews for companies in which I decline their quote - but once I was required to give you $19 to come out to give me this crap estimate, it's fair game.
stay away from the $89 service. i made the mistake and had to pay $178
for the service person to flush the system.
in reality a 15 minute job.
they tried talk me into a new a/c system. (mine was 8 years old).
the family plan is , in my opinion is really a sales pitch.
Their plumber wanted to sell me a new water heater at $2400.
mine is 8 years old.
i made the mistake of being talked into the family plan at $149.
I decided to cut ties with them and eat the $149 knowing if i stayed with them it would cost much more.
i also am waiting for them to acknowledge my quitting the family plan.
i am 83 years old and i would warn people that are elderly to think 2 or 3 times before hiring this company.
Showed up quick and great price as quoted. Glad to have someone to call for emergencies now!
Appointment set 1-5 to set drain, change disposal, and check out/solve low water pressure issue . Arrival after 4, couldn't stay to fix facet because it was after 5? Appointment was made weeks ago with no mention of additional charge for evening hours.
Scammers!
I swear a God i hired those people for my house AC and they charged me 120$ for nothing just said that my 2014 Unit coil is not good and the whole unit needs to be replaced ,their man just tried to do sell me a new unit without bothering him self at least by cleaning the clogged drainage pipe and he offered me to install a new unit for 11k ,
Next day i hired an honest company and they just cleaned the drainage pipe and they added a little refrigerant to the AC and only charged me 80$ and my AC back to work perfectly .

I've recently had my AC installed as well as electrical and plumbing work done by Frank Gay Services. At this point I've utilized Frank Gay Services for water restoration when my entire condo flooded. Awesome service. Guys were at my place drying it out within the hour. The guys who installed my AC were extremely professional, courteous and just good guys. Same can be said about the electricians (shoutout to Kevin B!!!) And the plumber.
Frank Gay must personally interview everyone because they are all great people and do great work.
I'll use their services again, for sure.

I came home to my AC not working after a weekend vacation. I called this company and they got back to me in a timely manor. The service technician I spoke with, Kevin, knew exactly what the issue was over the phone and was able to fix the problem on site in 10 minutes. He was very friends, helpful, and knowledgeable. I appreciated his quick responsiveness throughout the whole process.
I have used frank gay and recommended them to my clients for their fair pricing and quality of work. After two recent events I will not be using them or recommending them. First event involved the technician suggesting the proper way to unclog a drain involved a $300 video inspection. Not a big deal but I wouldn't want to recommend a company that professionally recommends unnecessary upsold items. This past week I was quoted $622 for a replacement toilet flange. The tech cited inflation, increased material cost and their reputation for the expense. And I quote you called us because we are the Mercedes Benz of plumbing. I found another company with better reviews to do the same job with the same materials for $300.
There is no communication between the techs. I had mgr come and write up a job without ever looking at area and then when tech came to do work was told they had to do it a different way and expected me to pay an additional $700. Got a service contract only to find out most of it doesn't apply to us because we have more than one unit. Absolutely horrible.
Called late in the morning with a plumbing problem. They promised me that they would have someone there before 5:00 pm. They assured me a plumber would be there that day. I had called another plumber and told him not to come because Frank Gay Plumbing promised they would have someone there by 5:00 pm. At 4:45pm called the office and said no one has arrived. The woman reassured me someone would come. 5:05 I received a call from a technician that said he could look at it, however the warehouse is now closed and would be unable to get the parts. He said he did not get dispatched until after 5:00 pm. Even thought I had called in the morning. This is now Friday evening. Now I have no hot water for the entire weekend.

So on a Sunday afternoon I had the AC go down. That's fine. It happens. But being in Florida and I needed to get this fixed ASAP. I called around and there were other companies that were available the next day or the following day.
Then I called Frank Gay. They said they will be available the same day but with an emergency call, it'll be $129. That's fine. I gave the rep my information including my credit card information. I also called the other companies and cancelled the appointments.
Then Frank Gay's rep calls me and tells me they are booked so they need to come the next day. Good news is that they won't charge the emergency fee. Sure.
So I took the morning off since he told me 8-10am. I don't hear from them so I call. They scheduled me for 10-2pm. The same time the other companies but now more expensive.

This company is trash. Stay far away. First Bozo brought the wrong air conditioner part over twice before getting it right. The next Bozo came over to do an air conditioning tune-up and tried to sell us on replacing all the pipes in our house. Trash on trash peppered with some trash. Awful company.
Update......
Sarah, the account is in my wifes name. Unfortunately, we absolutely do have an account with your awful company.
They overcharge way too much. I told them no after they quoted me $700 to unclog a toilet. No thanks. I had to pay $39 for nothing. Rip off.

I used Frank Gay Services as they had taken over Kiley and Sons, my usual go-to plumber. The positives - The staff was polite, same-day service, and the issue was resolved. The downside - I was told that there was no trip charge but an estimate charge, which would be applied to the repair cost. I called for a slow-draining sink. I told the service man that it was probably just hair trapped in the pop-up plunger. I also said that as long as he was here, would he please clean out the plunger in the other bathroom sink. The service man said, Oh no, nothing that simple. The service man then looked up on his tablet and aid the cost would be $365 per sink. WHAT?!?!?
After I said that was outrageous, he said that he could do one sink for $256.00. As he said he was sure it was more than just the plunger, I accepted. The following is the receipt.
D E S C R I P T I O N O F W O R K: Clear bathroom sink drain... when I arrive to the residence. The homeowner answer the door and show me to the bathroom where it had a slow drain... And then she showed me the other bathroom that was working OK... I gave her an estimate one clearing the bathroom sink. She agreed to the estimate... I just pulled the pop-up assembly up and the clog was around the pop-up hair and grease like substance... I quickly put it back together and checked everything and everything is in working order and draining great.
He then took my credit card and wanted to take a picture of my driver's license. No way!!! I will NEVER use this company again. I was ripped off.
By the way, I found out after the fact that the plumbers work on commission. Be forewarned.
No Stars - Do not use Frank Gay. I paid 16k for a high-efficiency AC system and since day one, day one we had trouble that has continued for almost 2 years with no resolution. On the installation day, 4 amateurs showed up and took 5 days to install what I was told would be a 2-day install. They had nothing but trouble installing the system and couldn't get it to run. Finally, after a tech arrived to help the installers they got it running. My electric bill doubled after the install and my bedroom never got cold. Every month something has broken and every time a tech comes he comments on how crappy an installation it was, fan has been replaced twice because it was installed backward, flooded my house because the drain was incorrectly installed. I have had a breakdown EVERY MONTH, one stupid thing after another and never my fault. I challenge Frank Gay to deny it. I should have been approached by management and offered a new air handler by now, I have been patient to a fault. These guys do not CARE about the customer. If you want to be taken care of and treated with respect this is the wrong company to use - they absolutely suck!
Our plumbing was backing up on Memorial Day weekend and we were at a complete loss! We called Frank Gay Services and they were able to get someone out in about an hour. Chris Smith was the tech who took care of us and was super knowledgeable, helpful and even gave us some pointers if this were to happen again! I highly recommend them and we now how a go to company when and if the need arises.
I own a bar in Sanford and highly recommend Frank Gay's services. Chris came out quickly and fixed the clogged sewer line. Reasonably priced. Thank you Chris.

Scammers and thief's. I called in for a service. The guy had an attitude did not come with any tools. Not even his tablet to bill service. I had called the company to ensure they came equipped he deceived me well. For looking, unscrewing and screwing back the bathtub drain lid I was charged 135. Didn't even attempt to find the problem. Coupons they advertise in their website is another scam. It was not accepted. I will NEVER call them again.
If you are young or elderly, they will try to take advantage of you!
My daughter's A/C stopped working. She called them and they came out. Donovan lied to her that her condenser motor was seized and that since she had an R22 system, that even if he was able to replace the motor he was not able to get R22 (I found out there are many alternatives to R22) and so she would need a new system. She called me and I talked to him. He told (lied to) me the same thing. I went out there the next day, the fan spun freely so it wasn't seized. I turned the system on and manually spun the motor. It started spinning on it's own and started cooling the house. I replaced the run capacitor and it still would not run on it's own, so I replaced the motor. And it is all working just fine. I do not have any A/C training or certification. Either Donovan was completely incompetent or just deceitful or his manager tells him to be misleading and dishonest. The fact that he lied to both of us leads me to believe he is untrustworthy. I do NOT recommend using such a blatant unethical company!!!!
We had them come out and replace an airconditioner on our home. Although they were more expensive than the other quote we got, they seeemed competent. Now a year later, I couldnt be more sorry...
It has never worked correctly since they installed it.
Every time we bring them back out to fix it...shocker... whatever the problem was just didnt happen to be under their waranty, so they charged us for that visit too.
At this point I coult have paid their competitor to put in two air conditioners for what this one has cost me, and it still isnt working...
This is far and away the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor and if youve had any experience there, you know how bad this must have been :(
If I could give it less stars I would. This is a garbage company do yourself a favor and find someone better, reliable and not a ripoff. Our AC unit went out. We called Frank Gay because we purchased a maintenance contract with them and thought they were honest and reliable. Their diagnostic tech came here and sat for hours in a hot house with 3 upset kids that were so hot. He pressured us into applying for a loan and quoted us $17,580 for a unit and an add on labor warranty. I got approved for $19k and he started saying oh with that extra $2k you could purchase this and this he was disgusting. They are priced out at 3x industry standards. He had my husband sign the contract for the loan when it wasn't in his name then when the sales order was sent to us the amount was $10k more than what they quoted us which was insane to begin with. We cancelled the contract and told the installers not to come. They still showed up and after MULTIPLE calls to them I have yet to receive a call back from management. They are scammers and liars. Call a reputable company, they are not one. Awful treatment of customers, they try wholeheartedly to take advantage of people and when they're found out they don't ever call back. We will never do business with these scam artists again!!!!
Their plummer arrived oK. We wanted a top filter on our Reverse Osmosis system which was leaking where hose connects to filter repaired.(We shut it off upon discovery). I was told it would cost $180.00, I told him that was too much for what he was doing He then lowered his estimate to $140.00. He did not have the right connector where hose meets the filter. He said it would cost more, parts & labor if he went to get right part. I told him to disconnect/by pass the top filter. We have purchased a new RO system for $170.60 and will install ourselves. Expensive, but valuable lesson for us and for others who read these reviews. Thank you.
I recently bought a house in Orlando and wanted to upgrade the lighting by installing recessed LED lights with dimmers. Frank Gay's office was very helpful and set an appointment for their lighting specialist, Kevin B, to do the estimate at a convenient time. He arrived promptly at the time I selected, and was knowledgeable and courteous. He explained exactly what was needed, made several good suggestions, and completed the estimate before he left. The price was in line with similar work I had done in another house - not cheap, but fair. I accepted the estimate on the spot and we scheduled the work.
There was a one-day delay in starting, because the previous job required an inspector's approval. Kevin B and his apprentice showed up exactly when they said they would for the rescheduled start. They completely redid the living and dining room lighting, two bathrooms, front entry, kitchen (including under-cabinet lighting with a dimmer), and pantry. They even brought in a dry wall guy who repaired holes in the ceiling where old fixtures were removed. All of this was completed on time, within the estimate, and it's even better than I had imagined. I will use Frank Gay Services for all my electrical needs from now on.

The technician was great, the repair was fine, but man do they rake you over the coals on fixed labor costs. So bad I can't recommend them to anyone. The hourly rate came out to be more expensive than attorneys. After speaking with service manager, the response was they have to include the business operation costs into it. Well duh, but that doesn't explain 3 times the cost of other people. Chalking this one up to a lesson learned.

Rip off price gouging. They wanted to charge $380 for a $12.63 transformer and wanted to charge $238 for a 20 minute to 40 minute labor time.

Zero stars. Did not install $4,000 air conditioning unit properly, did not seal unit after installation, did not even leave a filter. Dishonest workers.

I called for a repair if an Insta-hot tank. Repairman sold me on a Circulation valve system for $2500. Had issues with the system. Different repairman comes. Next thing, the system blows and floods my garage. After many visits from his best people, Frank Gay himself came to my home. Still problems with hot water in every bathroom. I gave up and paid another company $200 to run another recirculation hose and voila! Problem solved. Frank Gay is an arrogant jerk who just likes to hear himself talk. Save yourself the hassle and use someone else.
So...I'm new to Florida, bought my home via internet. 1st person I hired to work on it screwed me over (but made sure he got paid in full 1st), 2nd group kinda got relaxed at the end so they left some things unfinished.
Therefore, you can imagine how aprehensive I was when, after living in my home for 7 months, I come to find out that I need to hire yet another person/company to fix what sounds like a leak in my kitchen.
A $79 plumber fee (not Frank Gay) did not include FINDING the leak, that pleasure cost me $300.
In order to avoid dismantling, removing, risking damage to my new cabinets and countertops, not to mention the concrete slab (that's right, seems Florida is famous for their lousy circa 1970 piping), I decided to re-pipe my home.
I got 4 quotes, 3 were exactly the same amount, 1 was twice as much! 2 of the 3 were not available for 3 weeks (good for them, work is obviously going well). But I couldn't risk 3 weeks of water under my slab plus 2 week of leakage made for a $190 water bill!
The review on this site for Frank Gay seemed bad...but after meeting Dave and Jeremy I was sold and took a chance. They were knowledgeable, patient (answered ALL my questions), and didn't try to push additional merchandise/services.
On Monday (in less than a day) Dave and Jeremy completed the work efficiently and did what they said they'd do. BTW: HOT WATER FOR THE 1ST TIME SINCE I MOVED IN! The office staff scheduled the inspection for Tuesday and send me all pertinent documentation by that Wednesday.
THANK YOU for your honesty, a job well done, and putting up with a jaded customer.
They told me over the phone the first 30 mins of work is free for the Electrician to come out to your house because you pay the 80 dollars to start. The guy arrives exactly at 2:30 leaves at 4:00. So I pay 1 hour of work right? Wrong I get charged 2 hours of labor. I suppose the guy must be starving, he couldn't speak English all that well. I just paid the guy to get out of my house and I will not be using them again. Total Cost= 281 dollars for 1 hour 30 mins with my materials.

This is by far the best service company around. I've been having the same problems with my house and finally found my answer. Right when I made the call the men were there within the hour to deal with the situation. They were quick and efficient. Not only did they get the job done, they gave me the best price for it as well. The men they sent to my house were very helpful and respectful. They didn't leave until I was completely satisfied with the job at hand as well. This is the only company I will use in the future.
First of all, the company is owned by APEX--and they are using the original Frank Gay Services Name. The Website says that Frank Gay Services are rated A+ by the BBB. I went to the BBB Website and it did not recognize Frank Gay Services as being a Member. Is this a miscommunication or a Bald-Faced Lie?????? Also, I was promised a 12:00 noon appointment, and the technician did not show up until 5:30 pm the next day!!
They wanted me to select from their 4 PLAN CON JOB!! They try to talk you into using their camera and hydropressure system instead of the ole
fashioned auger to run a snake down my kitchen sink pipe to the city water line, which was only about 50 Feet. The ole' fashioned auger would have cost approximately $550--the camera and hydropressure approximately $850, and the 2 other plans went up into the Thousands!!!!
I checked with other plumbing companies who did not hesitate to give me a ball park figure of no more than $300 and then they would deduct their $75.00 coupon from the $300. Frank Gay people refused to give me a ball park figure when I knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it.
On top of that one of their technicians kept trying to play with my dog when I repeatedly asked and instructed him to leave the dog alone--as the dog was already apprehensive and barking loudly at him because he was a stranger. He upset my dog and caused him unnecessary duress.!!!!!
Great service and on time. Chris Smith did a great job. I recommend Frank Gay Services
If I could they would get a -10 stars! We had an emergency on Sat 8/12 where our a/c stopped working. I went online to see what local companies were open 24 hrs and I could schedule an appointment for asap. I went with Frank Gay out of Winter Park, FL and they had an appointment for Sunday 8/13 between 8-9am. I gladly booked this as we were under a heat advisory. Sunday 8/13 a female calls and says we need to collect payment $129.00 for an emergency call. I provide the credit card she emailed an invoice and said they wont be out to between 4-8pm. Ok I advised to keep it unless I can find another company to come before this and Id call back. No other company was available. I called back at 3pm because still no call as to when a tech would be out and Im told they cancelled my appointment...but couldnt tell me why even though they took my payment. I had to reschedule another company for Monday evening due to there delay . See attachments for confirmations.
Repair person could not fix the problem because he said he couldn't get the nut off supply line. It's a flexible line that did not even need to be removed but he said he had to do it that way because he didn't want to risk breaking it. If he broke it he could have just replaced the whole panel. (Very slim chance of breaking it). He also quoted me almost $400 just to change a cartridge in a washer less faucet. Also, they quoted me an install of a water heater- twice the install fee of two other services I called. Now it's just ridiculous.

Needed to have leak from garbage disposal fixed. When I called I was told that they were booked all day so they couldn't give me a specific time but a tech would call me when they were. Chris Smith called at 1200pm and came out within the half hour . I had expected to be waiting around all day. He was very knowledgeable and fixed the issue as well as gave me advice on replacing my faucet. I did not feel like he was trying to over charge me or sell me things I didn't need. Great to find someone honest and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend and plan on having them return for future plumbing needs.
Walter was very helpful with our electrical issue, and he explained our options. He was professional, and we will be looking to have him back out as we continue our remodel.
Chris Smith came out same day and did an amazing job fixing the leak on the side of my house! Love these guys and highly recommend them!
Joseph was great. We had just moved in and were having electrical issues with outdoor outlets not working and overriding the gfci. He was polite and knowledgeable and assured us it was not a large issue. He came masked w booties to put on going outside to in and handled the problem quickly. We will ask for him again and definitely use Frank Gay services in the future.
